I hate it with a burning passion. Nothing in particular about it that makes me hate it, it's just annoying and pointless and it's just super dumb and annoying. On the bright side if a game isn't going so hot I can just die by not doing it. I wish they'd either make it a button hold or automatic. And they should do the same for wiggling while they're at it
-
I've tried to think of a million different solutions to SWF but no matter what nothing seems to work quite right and each has some kind of flaw. That is, all except for one:
- Add a quick chat wheel that can be used to send preset messages on the fly, such as "I'm going for the save!" or "The Killer is after me!" or "I'm about to finish a generator!" or "I need healing!" or "I'm opening the gate!" or "I have Borrowed Time!" or "I have Adrenaline!" Hell, you could even make the perk related messages be based on what perks you have equipped. So on the wheel there's 4 spaces dedicated to perks that are based on which ones you have. The same could be done for items if they wanted to. It doesn't necessarily have to be a wheel but you know what I'm talking about.
This doesn't require anyone to have mics, type during the game, know certain languages, interact with people more than they already are, and doesn't hinder gameplay for anyone. And once this is added they can make changes to killer as needed. Sure, SWF on comms still have an advantage, but it would be FAR less of an advantage this way and it would tremendously bridge the gap. More things could be done here and there to help bridge the gap some more but honestly I feel like this idea would be a huge solution and wouldn't be that hard to implement compared to other things they could do. I'm sure this idea isn't totally perfect but it has a pretty good advantage to disadvantage ratio so I'd say it's worth considering
-
Yeah, especially if he's never gonna give you up in a chase or let you down off the hook, or run around and desert you for other survivors
-
Smacking hooked survivors should reduce their health bar

Old Freddy (when the visual effect was horrible and you couldn't see #########). 4 Purple fog offerings π΅π€’

Weird idea but I like it. Anything to spice up the game and make it less monotonous is good in my opinion (within reason of course). Unfortunately this idea falls under the category of "cool stuff the devs will (probably) never do" just like alternate game modes, different primary objectives, secondary objectives, alternate escape options, 2v6/8 or any other variation of bigger matches, new survivor items, unique survivors, or other roles (like roles besides killer and survivor, which is what this idea would be since it's not technically a killer). There are probably some other things I haven't mentioned. But we can dream I suppose
-
It's almost like they're scared to make any more killer perks that people might actually want to use
-
Survivors aren't unique. If they had different stats or abilities or skills or items or anything like that I'd be a survivor main to the bone (actually I'd still play both but I'd play survivor way more) but they're all skins so I'm a killer main
But I guess your question is more like "why tf are you still playing this game" and the answer is: I don't play as much as I used to, but I still play it on occasion because I gotta get my asymmetrical fix (literally my favorite type of game hands down) and there's basically nothing else right now because everything that even comes close to competing with this game somehow gets screwed over and/or dies for one reason or another. If there was a decent alternative I'd never look back. And if this game actually had some competition they'd have to put more effort into retaining players. Right now addiction and lack of alternatives does their job for them. I'm hoping the Hide or Die relaunch, Predator: Hunting Grounds, or RE: Project Resistance will do the trick, but there have been many in the past who failed and I have my doubts these will be any different. At least Project Resistance comes with the RE3 remake so people will get it anyways even if they aren't specifically looking for it

You can get dedicated server'd on the puke making it not even count even if it makes the coughing sound
It plays the "disinfected" sound effect at the start of the match due to starting with a corrupted fountain instantly letting everyone know it's Plague (if the fountains everywhere weren't enough of a dead giveaway) at least sometimes the starting music might cover it up though
You can infect breakable walls for some reason, not sure why. Survivors can't interact with them and probably aren't going to be touching them at random, and the puke doesn't corrode the wall or anything as far as I can tell
It's hard to tell what a puke "projectile" actually is especially when you're slinging it everywhere, turning quickly, or shooting it at a high angle, leading to long stretched green/red lines flying through the air that don't actually do anything when they hit someone or disappear when the actual puke the line is coming from hits something. Not sure how they could fix this but it'd be great if I could actually tell what counts and what doesn't instead of these weird lines stretching everywhere
This isn't really a bug but it'd be great if the puke velocity was slightly higher, as there are so many instances when I'm puking at someone going around the corner and all the puke goes right behind them and I can't puke at a sharper angle because it'll hit the wall even though I'm basically breathing down their neck

I actually think removing perk tiers would be a good idea. It sounds kind of crazy at first and people would be thinking "what about all the people who wasted BP leveling up their perks" (which is true, maybe they could find a way to compensate BP or something but I don't think that reason alone is a good enough reason to not do it) but if they did it this way then they wouldn't have to worry about having something that can increase with perk level being on every perk (so they could add a perk that just does something without tying an arbitrary extra number to it) and they will have a slightly (not much difference but it's still something) easier time balancing things because it's just one value rather than 3. And of course the obvious benefit is wayyy less grind.
It would also solve the problem of perks that are trash at level 1, and it would make the game slightly less confusing/daunting/grindy for noobs because then every perk would be consistent and they wouldn't have to worry about the level of the perk. Honestly if I was a noob right now I'd be so in over my head trying to figure out all these different perks and tiers and teachables and how I'm ever going to unlock them and get the ones I'm trying to go for without taking literally a million years. Removing perk tiers would help everyone a lot, not really much downside to it at all except for people having wasted BP on it in the past (which could probably be remedied somehow)
-
It would be great (and easy) for them to change it. If I recall, long long ago, their reasoning for having button mashing in the game is they wanted it to be "scary and tense" or something like that, and didn't want people just sitting there doing nothing while being carried or hooked. I think that reasoning is kind of silly because it's not tense or scary, just annoying and can cause people to damage controllers/keyboards. Plus this game isn't scary anymore anyways, anyone who's played it for a little while is never going to get scared (besides maybe jumpscare Myers or something but that has nothing to do with this), and there are probably plenty of noobs who don't even get scared either. Also people are basically doing nothing anyways besides mashing a button for no reason other than they get punished if they don't.
They should either make auto struggle a toggle or make it automatic all the time and give you a button to let yourself die on hook if people really want that (I guess people don't always want to sit there for an extra minute if they just want to die and leave) I guess they could also make it a button hold so you are at least still doing something
-
When you're doing an interaction in another game waiting for a skill check to pop up
-
I have the same problem. I can't learn new killers unless I derank a bunch because otherwise I get stomped and called a baby killer ez noob and I don't really learn anything about how to play them other than I'm gonna have a bad time if I keep trying
Hopefully as some have said there will be a separate ranking for each killer in the new system so this problem won't be so bad
-
Still waiting for one π
-
I'm calling him Hungry because he never stops eating
-
There's already an easy af counter: Let off the gen and start back after completing a skill check (if that actually doesn't work then the perk description is poorly worded/inaccurate). That's super easy, in fact way easier than hitting a great skill check, I have no idea why they nerfed it even more. The only difference being that the gen might be yellow for like a second before you let go of it, but even then the killer might think you aren't on it anymore or they might've been looking away or busy, and you might not even get another skill check until the perk's timer runs out.
Since it activates on 2 hits that means they either just downed someone and now have to take the time to hook them before they can act on the potential information, or they are still in a chase which means the timer is possibly going to be gone by the time they are able to do anything else. And now with the timer being reduced by 15 seconds you are going to get even less value out of it.
Oh and let's not forget the fact that if you take a little while to find someone at the start this perk isn't going to do anything for you at all unlike Discordance or Whispers. And the info isn't as reliable (or immediate when triggering) as Thrilling Tremors or BBQ since it's based on skill checks and doesn't help find anyone who's not on a gen. And it can't necessarily tell you if people aren't on any given gen because you don't know if they actually aren't on it or just aren't getting skill checks (and now they could just hit great skill checks). Although TT and BBQ aren't perfect and don't always give awesome info every time, they are much better options than Gearhead. Overall this perk needed buffs/changes, not nerfs.
-
Part of the reason I keep playing is there aren't really that many good alternatives. It seems like every other asymmetrical game that pops up dies before long or doesn't quite tickle my fancy. I gotta get my asymmetrical fix somehow (literally my favorite type of game) so here I am... still playing this...
Another part of the reason is I'm like "hey I should unlock X perk(s) on X character it might be fun" and then I have to grind forever and never end up getting it and I've been playing so long that I get tired of it and quit again
I don't hate the game or anything though, it's still fun (sometimes), it just gets tiring doing the same old stuff all the time with nothing (whether it be another game or something in this one) to freshen my brain up
-
EVERY time (literally 100% chance not even exaggerating) every single time, 100% guaranteed I've said it like 4 times already in this sentence and I'll say it again it always happens guaranteed: Every time I play Plague I get Grim Pantry. I hate that map so much I'd rather play on Haddonfield that's just how bad it is. On the bright side I have every inch of that map memorized to the point that I can picture it vividly in my mind at all times, every spawn, every orientation, I could replace the map generator for that map with my brain and nobody'd notice the difference
-
So you can repeatedly kick a gen for 5 minutes and confuse the hell out of the survivors
-
I recently have started to Leatherface camp on occasion. But not because of swf or anything, but because I want them to friggin fix Leatherface already. And by fix I mean, I dunno, rework him, make his power actually interesting and not a short range version of Billy, literally anything other than what they have right now. I feel kinda evil most of the time when I do it but the more people hate Leatherface the (hopefully) faster he'll get a change. Who knows, maybe if enough people do it something really will be done about it. Even if they somehow make it harder for him to camp I don't care as long as they finally give him some attention
It would also be nice if they did something for Clown but he doesn't have as easy of a method to be a total a-hole so it'd be harder to get a bunch of people to really hate him and make the devs want to change it
-
I used to be 70% survivor 30% killer long ago but survivors aren't unique, just skins, so now I've ended up playing killer 90% of the time since they each have something different that makes them more interesting and harder to get bored of. I really wish they would've made survivors unique with their own abilities and stuff but it's too late for that now
-
If you are patient, use Insidious, Noed, Rancor, and Bloodwarden on Nurse and go inside a gate (make sure no one is looking) and wait until they open it at the end and give someone a nasty surprise. If it's not the obsession you get to block the gates and have 1 minute of killin' time while everyone panics, if it is the obsession then you could still do that or just murder them. Don't worry about Rancor giving you away since Insidious blocks auras, they won't even know you have it until it's too late >:)
-
It was added for some kind of event if I'm not mistaken, it was supposed to be temporary but then they just decided to keep it in the game forever. May or may not be the same thing with the bloody party streamers, I don't remember exactly. Actually the party streamers may have been due to a community challenge and it was completed so the devs kept it as a reward. Or maybe not. I do remember at one point the devs were like "if people get X amount of BP as a community within X amount of time there'll be X reward" not sure if that's what the reward was though
Either way the regular offerings are pretty weaksauce by comparison
-
Trapper:
(I think this one is kinda obvious and other people have said the same thing) Trapper takes a bear trap and causes it to snap on the survivor's head. He steps on their back while he's doing it to keep them from crawling away. Maybe he could do it slowly so the survivor has a few moments to panic at what's about to happen.
Wraith:
Wraith picks up the survivor in one hand, and then he takes a big swing with his bell and hits the survivor in the head, causing them to slowly burn up and disappear. The survivor screams when they start burning. The effect would be similar to the Wraith's cloaking effect except the survivor's body actually disintegrates.
Nurse:
The survivor stands up, and the Nurse does a blink, but when she reappears her weapon is lodged in the survivor. The survivor looks down at the weapon in surprise, and then up at the Nurse, then the Nurse pushes them down while pulling her weapon back out. She could either physically push them or use telekinesis.
-
When I started the game in 2016 there was (might still be that way) a rather poorly worded achievement that said "escape the trial by bringing an item to the campfire" and I thought there was some way you could sacrifice an item in one of the fires around the map to escape
-
Devs please add 2v6/8 (or whatever amount) already who cares about the balance it'd be fun as ######### even as a limited time event or something
-
The games where we all mess around and nobody tries too hard are always nice and make the day a bit better
-
For me personally, I think it's low tier killers that need some kind of buff or rework. Clown and Leatherface are the biggest ones, but several others could use a few smaller changes as well.
Also, similarly, super trash perks. There are so many perks that are either outclassed by another perk or are just so much garbage that you never want to use them. I want them to buff/fix the garbage perks on both sides so we can see more variety with the perks people use, and so I have more ways to switch it up and employ new strategies without looking and feeling like a memelord. Even if they buff the junk perks to the high heavens I don't care, whatever it takes to switch up the meta and bring in more variety
Edit: I want to specifically point out Monstrous Shrine. Super garbage perk that existed since the game came out and hasn't been touched in 4 years. It was junk when the game came out and it's still junk now, arguably even more junk by comparison since now we have way more better options than this. Like, just about any other killer perk is better than this one. Not sure why they haven't fixed it yet when they've been fixing other trash perks
-
I remember when I was a noob and it was one of my first few games as Dwight. The gates were powered and I got put on the hook next to a gate, and the killer put a trap under the hook. They must have gone to the other gate and got distracted, because I managed to get off the hook on the first try, escape the trap on the first try, and open the exit gate and get out. It was the most intense thing ever, especially as a noob when the game was still scary. My heart was pounding out of my chest the whole time. 4 years later the game still manages to get my heart racing whenever I'm the last survivor or I'm trying to open the gate and the killer is coming, but it definitely isn't scary like it used to be.
-
I see the point being made here and I agree, however it'd be better if the example wasn't someone 4k'ing with the shittiest imaginable combination of things in the entire game
-
I just wish they'd buff Wake Up! to make more than like 2 seconds of difference. Like, it's a useless perk slot the entire game and there's a solid chance you won't even be able to make use of it in the first place (gates never get powered, or you die before the gates are powered, or someone else opens the gate, or you're busy with the killer when the gates are powered, or you're far away from the gates when they're powered). If it's going to basically only do one thing the entire game it should at least do it good
-
My rule of thumb is: it's better one of us makes it than neither of us, so if I'm more likely to die than live if I save them, I'm not going to do it. I see nothing wrong with this, and I don't think anyone is in the wrong by saving themselves over someone else. I've been on both sides of the situation and while it does suck to get left behind it sucks even more to watch a 3 escape turn into a 1 escape because everyone came back like an idiot when there was slim to no chance of getting the save without trading off or worse
Also I tend to not run meta perks so I usually don't have any perks like BT or something, and I don't count on anyone else having certain perks either because I don't want to die or get someone killed because I guessed wrong
-
Sabo won't affect you if you camp slugs π
-
I love these changes now I actually have a reason to sabo and not get accused of being an abomination to all of mankind by my whole team for wasting time doing it
-
This option or the one above it (something optional but worth doing) would both be good. That way one game you can focus on one thing and if you get bored of that then the next game you can do something else. Instead of just doing gens all the time without variety. I think adding a whole new type of objective and win method would take a lot more work and balance issues even though it'd be way cooler, so I'd be willing to settle for an ACTUALLY GOOD secondary objective and not some dumb ######### like totems or hooks (sabotage)
Just an idea for a secondary objective that's kind of a mix of both options: Busted down vehicles around the map that you can siphon gas from into gas cans, and then put the gas in gens to give them a progress boost. If you get hit with a gas can you drop it and the killer can empty it on the ground. Empty cans spawn around the map. It takes some time to siphon the gas and pour it, but the idea is to have more moving around than sitting still with this objective. With this being added to the game you have the option to exclusively repair or exclusively siphon and refuel or a mix of both. So it's kind of like having another main objective but without actually adding a whole new thing to the game. I'm not going to say any specific numbers since this is just more of a brainstorming idea plus I don't really know what would be balanced anyways.

Anticipation got me like π©ππ
-
I've always wanted a perk that lets you teleport in lockers. Like press special ability button while inside a locker to teleport to another one. Would be either too good or have some huge restriction on it but still hilarious
I can just imagine the killer chasing someone and they hop in a locker and the killer checks it and it's empty
-
Any Hillbilly who knows how to bounce on stuff/fly through the air and jumpscare/Burger King Myers
-
It's a cool looking map and all but I want to rip my nuts off every time I have to play on it
Okay I'm exaggerating, it's not that bad but still. It's a pretty neat map in concept but I'd rather not play on it
-
Don't worry man the anticipation is killing me too. Just a little longer ο»Ώπ©π©π©

Honestly I don't think the two things are mutually exclusive. I doubt them not doing a chapter would really allow for more bugs to be fixed than would be otherwise. Maybe a few, but not enough to be worth it. Part of the problem is that each update brings more bugs with it, so people think bugs are never getting fixed when they actually are, it's just that bugs are basically inevitable. Same thing with balance, everything added to the game affects the balance, and considering it's an asymmetrical game it is especially difficult to balance and people are going to have massively differing opinions on the same things no matter what the devs do.
Also the addition of new killers (and perks to some degree) is one of the few things that sustains my interest in this game (still waiting for a main-worthy killer to be added, none of the current ones are "up my alley" enough yet unfortunately) so if they skipped a chapter I'd be super bummed because that's one less potential killer that could satisfy my wishes
-
This is why I became a killer main. I used to be pretty much 50/50 but survivors are basically just skins (as in no survivor is unique) and it only stays fun for so long. With killer each one is unique and has a different power for you to learn how to use and different interactions between perks and powers. Different killers can give you a totally different experience, survivors cannot.
Even with different perk builds survivor is always more or less the same at its core. If that core survivor gameplay was a bit more interesting (more stuff to do as a survivor and/or more interesting and engaging objective for example) I'd be more likely to play survivor from time to time.
-
I want to main a killer but none of the current ones are quite "up my alley" enough. Hoping the next killer will change that. Of course I've been hoping the next killer will change it for years and no luck so far so uhh... odds aren't exactly in my favor.
Or are they? Technically every killer they add that I don't have much interest in is one more idea out of the way unless they pull a leatherface or ghostface again
-
One will be pretty good actually, but get complained about and nerfed to the 9th layer of hell
Another one will be great for noobs but otherwise pretty much junk and barely useful
The last one will be decent on other killers but total ######### on the new killer
-
The Strongler
Not to be confused with the Strangler from Last Year, totally different and not copied or anything
On a serious note I'm actually going to guess The Werewolf since it's still somewhat possible and I don't think I saw anyone guess it on this post yet

Lol. I never imagined it.
It has a speed of about 3.8 m / s. Maybe?
Thank you for the information.
More specifically, it involves the addons Judith's Tombstone and the Vanity Mirror. Both reduce your speed and you can't stalk so you can't make use of the tombstone, you are stuck at tier 1. It got the name Burger King Myers for some reason
-
It's gonna be like burger king Myers

Here's my personal list of things I'd like:
- A fire killer
- A cave/dungeon/catacombs type map
- A killer related to plants
- An abandoned prison map
- A darkness/shadow related killer

There's a perk that lets you break hooks, but it takes a long time to do. People almost never use this perk, because it's a huge waste of time and effort and only helps 0.1% of the time. It can also be done with a toolbox with or without the perk.
The guy was doing it quickly because you can leave the progress bar at 99% and then go back to it and finish it off, giving the illusion that it was instant. People 99 it instead of just breaking it because:
- Sabotaged hooks come back after 3 minutes once they're broken, and it could come back before the killer even needs to use it
- The killer might spend extra time going to the hook if it's still standing, so when the survivor breaks it in their face while carrying someone the killer will have to go all the way to another hook, but if it was already broken then they wouldn't have spent that extra effort and risk of the survivor escaping
