What if a survivor uses a escape cake and a decent item but people disconnect and the killer still has no mercy? Issue occurs to both sides. Just move onto the next match.

exactly, it sucks for survivors too. they should ACTUALLY do something about the d/cs. Give them a 1 hour wait time for their next game if they D/C. Doesn't even need to be a ban. If you D/C, you cant join a new lobby for at least 1 hour. That would probably fix the d/c epidemic.

  • @JoannaVO said:

Your reward is a game where you automatically have more map pressure because a survivor disconnected and it becomes harder for other survivors. If played right, easy 3k.

Okay, and if i have three people D/C on me when i used an ebony mori, or iridescent add ons? You only get 600 some odd points for a survivor d/cing. You get MORE points in one chase with a single survivor than you get for that survivor disconnecting.

  • Because it's placing you and the survivors all into a lobby at once, instead of opening a lobby and just sitting there waiting. It's just a different method to match making. The multiple minutes is only because there are more people playing killer with the new DLC release.

  • But when Quentin released, Vigil was pretty ######### great, because Exhaustion expired while you were still running. So you pair Vigil with Sprint Burst and you get multiple Sprint Bursts in one chase.

  • Why does everyone always jump to NOED when people talk about nerfing perks? NOED is perfectly balanced. Break totems, no NOED. It's that simple. People say it rewards bad killer game play, but that's just not true. What it does is punish bad survivor game play. Totems are an objective. They're meant to be broken, not completely ignored. When survivors start breaking totems, and NOED stops working, killers will stop using NOED. It's that simple guys.

As for the DS rework, I personally love it. It's definitely balanced now, and just punishes for actively tunneling off the hook. I never did that anyway, so the new DS won't bother me at all. The only time it's going to be an issue is end game. If someone has DS end game, it's almost a guaranteed escape. I think the perk should de-activate if the exit gates are opened, because at that point there is zero counter play. But that's just my opinion.

    1 minute = 60 seconds

1 generator by one single person = 80 seconds

How it is gonna take the entire game?

because requiring being hit FOUR times instead of twice can extend the length of the chase by quite some time.

  • @Ghost_Potato said:

I am still mad survivors are not still in dying state when taken off the hook.

thats because another survivor is picking them up and putting them on their feet. Same way a back massage heals them. So that checks out.

  • @The_Crusader said:

I feel like it was better in the ptb to be honest. It's an uneeded punishment for other survivors.

how does it make sense that you just magically get LESS sick because your body gets impaled on a rusty hook?

  • The way it reads when i look at it, and HOPEFULLY the way it actually works, sounds like it's just going to be an unmissable dead hard. If they still get the speed boost from the hit, then it's incredibly broken, but if they just ignore the hit, then there should be no problem. Wonder how it will work with Legion and deep wound?

  • This also happens with Blood on your Face.

  • My friend and I made a drinking game. Pretty perfect as it stands.

Place a deck of cards face down. Each person takes turns drawing a card. Number cards are nothing. Jack is a landmine, take a shot. Queen is a cannon, choose someone to take a shot. King is Walk the Plank. As captain, choose someone to walk the plank (take a double shot) and take one shot yourself. Ace is treasure. Distribute 3 shots as you see fit, 5 for the Ace of Spades. Basically - everyone's getting hammered, lets do this.

Lots of testing. Nothing has changed in 10 years.

The "make your own game" point is still valid though. Drinking games can be simple, since the only end goal is to get drunk. Do this - take a drink. That's it.

Actual games that require all around balance are much more difficult. The Freddy rework will be coming. It's highly unlikely it's a licensing issue. They already have permission to use the character, it's HOW they use him that's the issue at this point. They need to find something that THEY think works, with in-house testing. When they think it works, they will release it to us, in form of PTB, to do player base testing. We will give feedback on what we think about the rework, and they will proceed from there, keeping it how they want, or making small changes based on player feedback. But they won't release a rework in a PTB until they're happy with the changes in house first.

The "killers rewarding failure" argument is flawed. Totems are a survivor objective. It punishes survivors for failing that objective.

    /thread

  • It's the same as any other killer power. She's just shooting a stream of liquid at you. Dragons do the same thing, except their liquid is on fire. Do dragons make you sick? Gotta find a different way of looking at it. Just because the devs call it vomit, doesn't mean you have to see it that way yourself.

  • @thesuicidefox said:

Freddy is the weakest killer because his power does nothing for him in a chase outside of an initial potential mind game. Every other killer has something to help in a chase. Freddy's only strength is in stalling the game with sleep but since waking up is very RNG and he has literally 0 pressure when you are awake it can't always make up for lack of chase options.

Personally I would just like 2 things for Freddy: sleep transition prevents all survivor actions except vaulting/pallets (maybe also unhooking) and skill checks are inverted in DW so you can't just mash the button to wake up. If they did that I would be happy with where Freddy is because he can be good if you play to his strengths.

I like the inverted skill checks, that alone would make Freddy slightly better than he is now. Not MUCH better, since skill checks aren't hard to hit, but slightly better. And instead of transition preventing actions, just make it reduce action speed like it does when fully asleep. Problem solved.

  • For this game to be properly balanced, both sides should be equal. BOTH SIDES should be EQUAL. Not that the Killer role should be equal to the survivor role, but that the Killer role should be equal to the four survivors. To make One Survivor Equal to the One Killer horribly skews the balance to this game. One single Survivor should not be able to loop the killer for an entire game.

Are you guys stupid? He mentioned NOED once but that isn't the whole forum can you killer mains actually read the thread

i read the thread and their post said that NOED was the reason killers ranked up above their skill level, and that's why killers complain about survivors being OP. Their whole reason for killers being higher rank than they should be is because of NOED. Not sure what you're reading, but that's what i got out of it.

What if I don't have a problem with any of these? they're things that are in the game.

    Then why are you here?

  • @The_Manlet said:

Killers tunnel because it is effective unless certain perks like Borrowed Time or the new Decisive Strike are in play, but since the killer doesn't know they're in play until they've already committed to tunneling that survivor, it rarely changes their behaviour.

Killers camp because they know the scoring and ranking system puts massive emphasis on unhooks, forcing survivors to try to unhook even when the sane thing to do is rush the generators and get out. This also synergizes well with tunneling.

The survivor's grinding perk, We're Gonna Live Forever, is built around mindlessly hookfarming your teammates. It doesn't care if the unhook is safe, and while it claims to give you a token if you take a hit for a teammate, the only times it seems to work is when you bodyblock a killer on the way to the hook, forcing him to hit you and thus usually doing more damage to your team than anything else, or just unhooking right in front of the killer and then taking a hit or two afterwards. Actually taking a hit for a survivor in a chase doesn't seem to do anything.

WGLF requires you to be like... 2 meters from an injured survivor when you get hit to get the stack. You ALSO get stacks for saving people from bear traps! (I learned this recently.) But yes, basically everything you've said here is accurate. If i see someone injured, and know they were recently unhooked, I'm not going to just ignore them because i know they were just unhooked, I'm still going to kill them, because they have bad luck, and I found them again. That's not tunneling. That's bad luck for you. Get over it.

Your tier list was kind of confusing I’m going to show you my tier list this was made before the plague was added I play on Xbox when she comes to console I’ll add her

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/901/BTXT09ZP9OBT.jpeg

C Tier Michael? With the puny terror radius and the one hit down? Hm...

  • His power is to become an m1 killer after 7 seconds. That's why Freddy is low tier. He can see survivors asleep far away, but chances are, they're gonna wake up soon anyway. With no dream transition time add ons, a downed survivor can be healed back up to injured if two teammates are close by, and awake, before Freddy can do anything about it.

  • I do most of my tracking by sound, i rarely ever follow blood trails. I'll let scratch marks guide me slightly, but i tend to try to guess where they're gonna go to cut them off instead of straight chasing, unless it's somewhere open.

  • To everyone who says there's no counter to gen rushing. That's what NOED is for.

  • It doesn't matter, or harm the game, but it is bad programming...

  • I've noticed Wraith not having a terror radius recently also.

  • 2 minute timer, AFTER exit gates are opened, reset any time someone gets hooked, seems like a fair compromise timer to me. And the game DEFINITELY needs something like this. I HAVE had a survivor running around the map breaking hooks for 15 minutes after everyone else had already left. I've also gotten a hatch grab after the other 3 survivors have left through the two open exit gates, and i stood at hatch, then in post game chat, I was asked if I'd ever heard of courtesy. Why yes, I have. Maybe you could have some and leave the ######### game instead of ######### about for 10 minutes and wasting my time?

Leatherface? Who is he similar too?

If you mean Hillbilly, then no, both might have a chainsaw but is used completely different.

They're still similar characters. Just because we want Pennywise as a licensed DLC killer, doesn't mean that Pennywise would throw bottles of gas at survivors.

  • My Pig build is Ruin, Surveillance, BBQ, and Nurses. As for add ons, they're not very helpful most times, some of them slow the game down a little bit, but I see no difference using two purple add ons as when i use two brown ones, or none at all. I do the same @HatCreature does, just sneak up on them and stand up. They have less of a warning. The ambush sound is a huge warning, I only ambush if I'm crouching around and I run into someone. They can run, but I'm faster.

Okay, I thought as much. Which is where I guess I want the mori to be recorded as having occurred. Once the animation starts.

Agreed. But it doesn't count until they're actually dead i guess. D/cing survivors just feel like they've got one over on you, it's all part of the toxicity in the community.

  • @LegitAdventurer said:

The issues is that both sides make up these imaginary rules and expect the other side to follow their rules.

Survivors rulebook: killer isn't allowed to tunnel, camp, use moris, use their ability, use the nurse, use billy, use Legion, use Freddy, kill anyone, hook anyone, down anyone, play.

Killers rulebook: survivor isn't allowed to break ruin, isn't allowed too do gens, wear cosmetics, bring toolboxes, or medkits, play a prestige character, play claudette, use map offerings, use any items.

Actual rules for both killer and survivor: win.

Okay except as killer my only rules are "Don't teabag me at a pallet."

If you do that, I WILL facecamp you for a full two minutes.

  • @psi567 said:

Wait, you cancel the mori after the animation starts? Like after the mori meter fills up and you go to grab the survivor, the mori can be cancelled?

    no

  • @MegsAreEvil said:

Slugging is bad habit so its going to be limited. Thats all right.

Then why does deerstalker exist? Slugging is a game mechanic.

  • They count the POINTS when the animation starts, but the actual death doesn't count until the end of the full animation. So they should count the mori as soon as the animation begins, not when it's over.

  • Monitor, Ruin, Nurses, Surveillance.

  • Do the survivors even see the grab animation start? I've never actually seen it happen from the survivor point of view. I've been grabbed a few times, I've been hit at generators a few times. Never seen a canceled grab though.

This is a bug that was 'introduced' several patches ago. Yes it gets VERY annoying. But it's basically rng whether or not you grab or not. Most of the time the rng feels bad for survivors and prevents the grab.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/977/5CQ5MGCFIXCZ.png

The survivor should be more careful, or more observant. There shouldn't be RNG. If I'm grabbing them, let me grab them. If I'm right behind them and they're on a generator, why should I get punished just because they're lucky? That's dumb.

Thanks for the answer. It's just super annoying. Cost me a 4k in my last game because i missed a grab on an unhook in the basement.

  • That's new. Maybe he was banned?

  • Only killer I don't like playing against is one that camps or actively tunnels. Doesn't matter what killer they're playing.

  • Because this is a NOED thread. If you want to complain about add-ons, which are rare, and not even on EVERY killer, then make a separate thread.

  • People don't like spirit, because you can't loop her. You cant sit across pallets from her and teabag. Because all of these things will get you hit. When running from a spirit and you drop a pallet, just keep running. Or stand and wait for her to A. Break the pallet. B. Stand still and not move which means she's either haunting around to you, or she's trying to mind game you to vault back across the pallet. Just run straight away from pallets and you've found the counter play to Spirit.

  • Just because someone is playing a killer you don't like is not a good reason to disconnect. ######### on your first hook, fine. But disconnecting over a specific killer is childish. I will admit that I have disconnected in games before, but usually only because the killer is face camping, or tunneling me, and I'm not enjoying the game. No one likes playing against Legion. It's even worse when one ######### disconnects and there are three of us left playing against Legion. Don't be that #########.

  • We have shirtless David, when do we get shirtless Kate? Gender equality!

  • I see exactly ONE perk on there, which is what we're discussing. PERKS. Not add-ons. And NOED is perfectly balanced how it is.

  • He's saying you can mori someone with DS. Just because your DS doesn't proc, doesn't mean the perk was inactive. You died before you got to use it, that's not turning it off. You break a totem and the killer still has to continue a full game without having access to one of his perks. There are zero survivor perks that a killer can do this to.

  • Okay, so, I'm about 99% sure that what the developers said was that she was from "Babylonian times" NOT that she was actually FROM Babylon. I will go rewatch the live stream right now to double check, hold please.
