Thank you very much. Are you on PS4? You seem like a nice person. I've seen your posts around and you seem informed and pleasant.
Same name on twitch.
I try to keep up with things, and I can get a bit salty when dealing with someone who refuses to see reason and logic. (Aka stupid people)

Where did you hear this?
I'd be okay with this honestly.
Before it was 20 + 30 max.
20 + 20 max seems fair and okay with me.
not queen said it on the dev stream @Dwight_Confusion

Stuff like this thread is a perfect example why this forum gets mocked as being extremely killer sided BS. So let’s say someone gets hooked in the basement with multiple gens left, not even the EGC. Someone goes to make a save and the killer returns to block the stairs, bringing the game to a standstill to ensure their 2 kills. On what planet is this quality gameplay?!
@Karl_Childers This would be the equivalent of a survivor hiding in a locker in the corner of the map away from everything for the entire game, just so they MAY get a chance to escape. Would you do this? Unlikely. Would any survivor do this? Quite possible, but they won't be a good survivor, and they will get crap for points. Same with the killer. Oh they got two kills, but they got less points standing there waiting for those kills than they would have in a single chase with someone.
GUYS PLEASE STOP THINKING THAT KILLERS ARE GOING TO START DOING THIS.
THIS IS NOT A GOOD WAY TO GET KILLS.
IF A KILLER DOES THIS, THEY WILL BE THE MINORITY, AND THE SURVIVORS WILL BE STUPID FOR GETTING CAUGHT.
tl;dr SURVIVORS DON'T DESERVE AN ESCAPE STOP WHINING

Basement blocking
If someone is on the hook in the basement and the Killer blocks the entry, so no one can enter to save - it's a solid, while a bit annoying, tactic and it's absolutely allowed and not bannable
If the Killer prevents one or more Survivors from leaving the basement over several minutes - pretty much everything over several minutes - is considered holding the game hostage and is bannable
You're cute. It's only bannable if there is NO way to get out, and are forced to d/c.

Thats freaking stupid, the collapse will make hostage situations even worse, a killer can now bodyblock a basement with 2 players and wait until the timer of the end game collapse ends so that he gets those BP
And? If you're stupid enough to get caught down there like that, then you deserve your death. Get over it.

If gens never get done when the killer is legitimately ignoring all other survivors, then the killer might not be the one holding the game hostage
Shhhh. You can't use logic with Survivor mains. It gives them headaches.

People say BBQ is useless yet I still find value in it.
The same is also said with UE because it can waste more time than it can save.
People say that, but they're the minority. That's why BBQ is meta. So is UE.
also @TreemanXD the "head-on, apply directly to the forehead!" isn't exactly a Samination joke, people were making that joke before Samination. Here's the source.
-
I don't think you're doing it right @NMCKE
-
But sadly, @TWiXT , with all the other massive pointless nerfs that killers are receiving, they're probably going to add a second stair case to the basement, and make the stairs wider, and remove two of the hooks down there.

We are not talking about dumb decissions, we are talking about people traped in a place where they cant get out.
The fact is survivors body blocked in the basement have no way to get out of the match if there are no survivors outside doing gens, that is taking the game hostage and it needs a fix.
And if the killer catches the survivor in the basement, with the hatch opened, what's his incentive for not just attacking and chasing the survivor and killing him? What's his hypothetical motive for body blocking this person?
-
@HectorBrando said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/443110#Comment_443110
What if the guy body blocked in the basement is the last survivor alive?, the teammates cant finish gens to activate the doors nor he can reach the hatch, the survivor cant do anything at all to escape or activate the collapse, his only way out is to disconect.
Why is the last survivor left alive dumb enough to go into the basement?

I knew they made the gates from 15 to 20 again. They increased Remember Me to 5 stacks at 4 seconds now?
@Dwight_Confusion I don't know if they made it 5 seconds per stack, or made it 5 stacks, but it maxes at 20 seconds now.
-
Yes. If you're in the basement, and the killer is there, then you've made a MAJOR mistake, and you should NOT get to escape for free in that situation. @VexTheHex
So I 100% think the survivors should have 0 escape WHEN THE KILLER IS THERE.
Edit : Re-reading your message makes me think you might not have actually read what I said. So did you?
-
IF the killer wants to punish a survivor, to get A SINGLE KILL, worth only 500 points, without getting any emblems, or any other points, what so ever, that's the killer being a moron. If two people are in the basement, and the Killer hits one of them, the other shouldn't be able to run out while the killer is in the hit stun. You're asking for a free escape for survivors from the basement, and that's NOT going to happen. The game you're describing isn't fun for the killer either. Please stop thinking this is going to be a thing, because it REALLY isn't. You might get body blocked in the basement if you go for a bad hook save NEAR the end game. That's it.
-
@VexTheHex the collapse HAS fixed it. You can no longer be body blocked indefinitely. The game still ends. No matter what.

If you dedicate a full build to it its not free
No you don't get it! Using all four of your perk slots specifically to do this IS "free" because..... Well... Oh heck, I don't know. I tried.

It is. Run Agitation and IG. Run the Territory perk. Hook anyone in there. At least one Kill. Hide nearby, maybe run Insidious if you're low mobility. Wait for another to go in. Walk and stand in stairs. You're done. People will do it. Hiding in a corner for 10 minutes after the gates are opened isn't point gathering or interesting. But people still do it.
If something was this broken dumb on the Survivor side, I'm sure it would of been changed by now. Unless you basement camp, this change wouldn't hurt you AT ALL.
"If something was this broken on the survivor side."
You mean like the old DS that took 3 years to get changed and was immediately replaced with MoM which is even better?
-
@adamn except the collapse WILL stop basement hostage games unless FOUR PEOPLE are stupid enough to get trapped in the basement. If the killer is doing nothing except standing at the basement then the gens are going to get completed, and the door is going to get opened, and the collapse is going to begin. So no matter how many generators are done, the collapse solves this problem.
-
@Slayer This guy's funny. He thinks he knows what he's talking about and it's cute. I like poking him because his logic is extremely flawed. He's just whiny and wants a free escape. That's all it is.
-
@VexTheHex I'm against this because THE BASEMENT ISNT SUPPOSED TO BE A SAFE PLACE.
Which part of that do you not understand? Stop being so whiny because someone body blocked you down there one time. It just makes you look stupid.
-
Yes, @VexTheHex it's fair, because now you don't have to d/c to leave the match. You don't have to lose all of your points to get to the next match. You just die. That's fair. Stop whining about something that isn't even close to a problem with the game.
-
@Dwight_Confusion said:
It was Remember Me... honestly.
Not now. Right now it's 4 hits for 16 seconds? That's just not worth it. It just isn't.
@Dwight_Confusion They've increased it to 20 seconds now, instead of 16. Which still is barely useful.
-
@VexTheHex I've had SEVERAL games as killer where survivors ######### around and crouched around the map hiding after the exit gates were opened. I have never ONCE as a survivor seen someone get body blocked in the basement to be griefed just for lulz. The survivor thing didn't happen OFTEN, but it was still an issue. The killer thing almost never happens, so is MUCH less of an issue. The game still ends. You still die.
Don't wanna get stuck down there because you were looting a chest at the beginning of the match? DON'T LOOT THE BASEMENT CHEST AT THE BEGINNING OF THE MATCH.

Yes, those are probably worse actually. I like the sound of your idea too, something should be done. I find it funny that they think they have the upper hand by disconnecting, but in reality, you the killer end up getting a quitter bonus at the end of the game, so the jokes on them I suppose 😄
@TheShape78 yes, killer gets a d/c bonus, but it's not NEARLY as many points as you get for chasing and hooking them.
-
Also posting on the forums with your name would just get the video deleted since that's name shaming and is bannable on the forums. xD
-
The worst ones are the ones that d/c as soon as they go down @TheShape78
All they need to do to fix the D/C problem is make people wait X amount of time to join a new lobby after they d/c, increasing exponentially for each d/c. D/C once, wait 5 minutes. D/C a second time, wait 10 minutes. A third time, wait 15 minutes. etc. With say 5~ games without a d/c to remove one stack.
-
I really like Make Your Choice but it's only good on killers that have the ability to get back to the hook really quickly. Make Your Choice on a Hag with that add on to teleport to any trap is GREAT.
-
RIP. You will be missed. </3
-
I really love Dance With Me. It's a nice perk to get away from killers, especially when paired with other perks like Quick and Quiet, or Lithe. Also @drekin Surveillance is one of the best tracking perks in the game and not really underrated. It USED to suck. It's only recently been buffed.
-
@DuckApproved the compensation you get is the Double Blood Point event next weekend.
-
You definiteley should @Kiskashi Spirit is super fun to play.
-
Maybe guys... Just MAYBE.... The entity chose these specific Survivors... because they know that they could punish the killers. They knew that the survivors they chose, would eventually get good enough to never get caught. So in the end... It's really the Killers being punished for all eternity, not the Survivors.
-
My build on Spirit is Ruin, BBQ, Surveillance, and Whispers. I personally don't see the use of using Nurses Calling on Spirit since you can't see their auras when you're phasing. Save The Best For Last is a pretty GREAT perk, especially when combined with Rancor, which is one of Spirits perks anyway.
Since you don't have Ruin, I do recommend using at least one if not both of the gen tracking perks, Discordance and Surveillance. Since making sure people stay off gens is going to be your main goal without Ruin.
I use Whispers because when Whispers starts when I'm approaching a generator, I know someone is on it. I can move a little closer and start phasing to try to catch them off guard. Or phase as soon as it activates if I'm using Prayer Beads.

NOED: requires waiting til endgame, only works on healthy survivors
Haunted Ground: brief window, requires a survivor to break it, usually doesn't snowball too much
Devour Hope: already hard enough to get the 3 hooks for this without it breaking
Rancor: see NOED, only works on one
Camping: obvious bad strategy already, worse than letting the perk proc
Mori: inconsistent, not something you'll usually have
Instadown add-ons: killer dependant
Billy: killer dependant
Pig ambush: killer dependant
Plague: killer dependant
There's no solid counter, only situational ones that a majority of players can't consistently use.
Thank you @ClogWench This is much more detailed than i was going to bother going for someone who seems to be too ignorant to understand that the perk actually has no valid counter.

While I understand that with the new end game collapse it had to be changed since otherwise she could just ensure they died. The one change they could make it that they apply the blindness effect or say the exhausted effect for 60 seconds.
If they get caught and go down and get trapped AFTER one of the doors is ALREADY OPEN then they deserve to die anyway.
-

So what you're saying is that Pig's traps are useless after the last generator?

You have noed devour hope hunted ground rancor camping until struggle mori insta down addons hatchets billy chainsaw piggy ambush attack plague using vomit until broken status or her other power(cant remember) and as a spirit main its ez make struggle the guy or have perks insta downs rancor its good
You're right. I'll use Pig's Ambush attack on my spirit. Billy's Chainsaw sounds fun on Spirit actually. Why not? And my Spirit puking on people? Why not? GREAT ideas. Those will definitely work for spirit.
As for your perk suggestions : three hex perks that are almost useless. Rancor which I actually already like as a perk. Rancor is sort of a counter, if you make it all the way to the end game. I guess?
Camping : Because every survivor loves camping, you're right, i'll start doing that.
Moris : because what survivor doesnt love moris? I'll use those too, so i won't have to camp the first hook.
10/10 suggestions my friend. The only one which actually even comes CLOSE to being a valid counter to the perk, is Rancor, and that's ONLY a counter if there's only ONE person running MoM.
What if all four people are running MoM? Do you even realize how stupid you sound suggesting CAMPING as a counter? My God.
Edit : Forgot to point out that one hit downs don't even work against MoM if you're injured. You can tank a chainsaw hit with MoM as long as you're injured.
-
Endgame? 100% Yes. Camping is a viable strategy. You need to camp that hooked survivor, or you lose your kill, and you MAY lose it anyway.
During normal game time? That depends on the group you're playing against. If you know it's a 4 man SWF, they are USUALLY overly altruistic. You can camp and guarantee at least one other hook to come out of your camping. Then repeat. However; IF the survivors are smart enough to avoid the camped person and do gens, then it becomes a much less viable strategy.

So... It has alot of counter and i dont even use it for me its useless since im playing against billy and nurse every match
What exactly IS the counter to MoM then? @Tru3Lemon
Since it has 'alot of counter' you should be able to at least provide one valid counter. How can I, as a Spirit main, counter this perk?
-
@powerbats no it doesn't. You can still follow them while crouching.
The major issue with Pigs nerf isnt the terror radius nerf. It's the fact that the traps are no longer immediately activated when placed after all the gens are done. Used to be, you could hook someone, and ACTUALLY LEAVE THE HOOK, to go look for other people, because they were trapped so it was safe, they couldn't just get unhooked and leave immediately. Now she has absolutely zero end game potential, and if she gets a hook end game, she has to camp that hook to secure a kill, just like every other killer.
-
@Milo Pig cant see the progress on the RBTs. So no, she doesn't.
-
I completely agree with all of these statements. I personally have stopped playing Killer. I did ONE killer game on the PTB to test the Legion nerf. I will do killer dailies in the regular game but then just stop trying after the daily is done, or focus on only getting the daily. Besides that, I've not played a killer game since Ash released. Killers are in a really bad place right now, and the devs just seem intent on making it worse.

I do not. Mainly because I am constantly chatting with my boyfriend and we both play and talk about the game.
I've actually been aiming to unlock a Nurse's Calling on the Spirit. lol
Thanks for the tips!
@GodDamn_Angela I main spirit, and in MY opinion, Nurse's Calling is useless on Spirit, since you cannot see their auras while you're phasing. The good tracking perks on her are the gen tracking perks. Discordance and Surveillance. My Spirit build is Ruin, BBQ, Discordance, and Whispers - because I don't have surveillance on her yet. Also you 100% NEED to wear headphones to track people while you're phasing. A good set of headphones too. Not having their injured sounds be directional is very detrimental on your chases.
-
Self Care is NOT a good perk. Just run adrenaline and work on a generator.
-
This would be a great rework. I'd be happy with this perk. I'd use it as survivor, and wouldn't be too bothered by it as killer. Great rework. The added haste effect is NOT a good idea, that's just stacking too much ######### on to try to make it OP in a different way.
-
@PigMainBigBrain they nerfed the distance too. It used to be 48 meters, now it's 32.
-
@Zarathos said:
Like any game with a competitve community ya gotta assume theres always better players. Sometimes its down to poor map rng sometimes its down to the other team having superior resources.
Dont let a loss dissuade you from having fun. Look up guides and practise different tricks to improve on your chase play for bp gain and dont obsses over 4king.
Ill take a 0 k anyday if i can get them sweet huntress long range shots or threading the needle and landing a shot through some very difficult loops.
Except the problem isn't that there are people better than me. The problem is that the game is so unbalanced that I either get a 4k, or a 0k. The game is either unfun because it's too easy, or unfun because the survivors are ######### teabagging, body blocking, and clicking.

Anyone that dont agree with your killer main idea is a "survivor main"
K.
Unless the end game collapse was his idea, i think you may be mistaken about who you're trying to insult with this post. The comment he responded to was not directed at him. It was about the collapse in general. From an obvious survivor main. Because it's clear they enjoy ######### around for no reason after the gates are opened, because they have to use "oh a camper with noed!" as an argument.
-
@Taelance said:
MoM gets you nowhere. WOW one hit but you need to take 3.
If that gives someone a free escape then you just have not been chasing enough.
@Taelance MoM isnt a "free escape" it's a massive time waster on the killers part. One free hit after taking 3 hits. That's a 20 second MINIMUM to catch the survivor again and down them after that free hit, and that's only if the survivor sucks. Most survivors can run for at least a minute per health state. So an extra 2 to 4 minutes of life for survivors in a game that can end in 5 minutes.... You're right. That gets the killer nowhere.

That 'nerf' was a fix for the crow spam that we complained about when using that perk; it works just fine now.
@SunderMun wrong. They lowered the range that it detected crows by 12 meters also. So they made it be unable to track direction with the countdown, AND they nerfed the distance. That's a major nerf to a not that great perk.
