Idk, why not just hotfix the issue with a small patch instead of being incompetent and banning people who in some cases may not even know about the issue?

How do they not know about the issue when they've put a message up about it in game? @AlexAnarchy

  • Yep, so her bear traps won't be so deadly during the end game. They said a "logical" change. Even though RBT timer is already shorter than end game collapse timer. Idk. This game caters to survivors, remember?

  • The issue isnt a specific add on. The issue is two separate add ons, used together. Disabling the add ons punish people who want to only use one of them. There is absolutely no issue using a single of the add ons. It's only when they're used together that it bugs. Why punish people and disable a specific add on, when you can just tell them "don't do this."

  • Why not? It's like choosing between Sole Survivor and Left Behind. They're both garbage perks, so it doesn't really matter which one I choose, but Left Behind is slightly LESS garbage, so I'll choose that one.

I know Sole Survivor can work well with OoO, but good synergy with one perk does not a good perk make.

  • If I'm on a corn map, I absolutely HAVE to play with the graphics settings on low. It's a million times easier to see through the corn with low graphics.

  • They don't fix bugs because they're making changes the community cries for, like the Legion nerf. If the community doesn't complain constantly about bugs, they won't fix them. Community complained constantly about Legion, and he got deleted. So complain about bugs and maybe the bugs will get deleted.

  • @Poweas Streetwise IS trash, but so is This is Not Happening. One ######### perk for another is a fair trade. Isnt it?

@Lemming Well, I don't know about that. There's no way they'd just give a survivor the escape with a trap on their head.

You mean like they already do, with the hatch?

  • @GrootDude said:

@mcNuggets pig might become really viable after this change. The new end game will be pretty interesting.

@TreemanXD They've already said that Pig is getting a change because of the end game. So Pig is about to get super nerfed too. @drunky26 he's still saying it can be stopped by breaking totems. so break totems and stop complaining.

exactly, it's the longest animation time ever for anything in this game and I think it only serves the purpose for hatch delay and to waste survivor time getting out of lobby.

It's only half the length of the Clown's mori. So you're wrong again, it's NOT the longest animation for anything. Hatch opens when all but one person is OUT OF THE GAME. That's not going to change. Don't like it, get a key?

Honestly? I am for the most part. I just don't find it as fun as playing Survivor. And its way more stressful.

Hell, the last game I played as a Killer the Survivors popped 4 gens in less than 2 minutes and then spent most of the game teabagging me. Super fun.

The toxic survivors just want to be able to bully the killer. And in the current game state, they can.

  • The problem @JonteZen05_OL isn't really an issue that the devs can fix. The problem is lack of survivors close to your rank playing at the moment. Try a different time of day and you'll probably have more luck.

  • @NuclearBurrito said:

I'll probably get back into the game after the collapse update if they fix the Spirit bug

@NuclearBurrito McLean said on his stream that he's already wrote the code to fix the Spirit sound bug. He said this before Ash even released. So they HAVE the code, they just haven't implemented it yet. For some reason.

@PigMainBigBrain I'm overly terrified to see what "logical" change Pig's RBTs are receiving because of this new End Game. I main Spirit and Pig when I do play killer, and until the end game her traps are almost useless anyway. Just slow down gen progress a tiny bit. But they were great End Game. So I'm scared they're going to overly nerf Pig because of the new timer.

  • Literally the ONLY TIME Blood Warden will be able to secure survivor's deaths, is if the survivors take more than two minutes to leave AFTER THE EXIT GATES ARE OPENED and then the killer hooks someone who is on their death hook with 45~ seconds left on the timer. In this situation, it's 100% the survivors fault for not leaving sooner. Three minutes is a LONG TIME.

  • @NuclearBurrito

    image.png

Except there IS a message about it in game. And it forced a pop up the first time you open the game after it was implemented. It even specifies the two add ons to not use together.

  • You can use a single add on without the bug happening. It only happens when you stack them both. Why would they disable a useful add on, when it's only bugged in a certain situation? If you don't read the giant WARNING when you open up the game, that's your fault. If someone DID try to sue BHVR over getting banned @Trikset then BHVR could simply show the courts the proof that there was a warning as soon as the game was opened to say "don't do this." If one proceeds to do it after being given this warning, then they have no grounds to sue. Also bans are temporary, not permanent, so most likely they'll just be banned for a week or so anyway.

  • @johnmwarner Can't activate it at all? Was this one time, or does it not work ever? Do you have a button set for your activate ability button? Default is E for PC. If this happened in one specific game, was it Clown, or Huntress, or another Killer that has the ability to cause Exhaustion with one of their add ons?

  • This is an old bug. Happens several other places too.

  • Imagine needing "This is Not Happening" to be able to hit great skill checks. Swap that out for Prove Thyself, or Streetwise to make that Toolbox last longer.

  • @Acromio said:

    PSA: DS is uncounterable.

You would be wrong good sir. Slugging and not tunneling BOTH counter DS. And you don't even need a perk to do either of those things.

  • @Cecaelia said:

They won't fix camping. They don't know how. Just play (as much as I hate telling you this OP) SWF. That way when you're getting camped you can just say "I'm getting camped do gens and get out" that way at the most the killer can get is maybe two.

Actually, maybe a passive perk for survivors.

    "Fear of Death"

When the killer has stood within xyz radius of survivor for xyz time all remaining survivors get a repair time increase to generators for xyz amount of time.

'The hound did not leave its prey, the hopelessness of the situation inspires the Entity to grant a boon to the survivors for hope is what sustains It, and hope... It wants to generate.'

I actually kind of really like this idea, but then the killer would just stand xyz+1 meters away to camp. And completely removes the already very small viability of Insidious. So make Insidious counter this passive perk, and i'm 100% okay with it.

  • @Dwight_Confusion said:

The collapse doesn't change the game that much people. It only changes the survivor getting a free escape that they don't deserve...

and it forces people out a bit sooner. The end game is a positive change I think. Just as long as killers don't get the shaft with nerfs to perks and powers... I'm excited for it.

    #leavepigalone

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/086/G5OZQCUODOAE.png

Except they ARE nerfing perks and powers. They've already said they're going to be "changing" Pig's RBTs. And we all saw how the "change" to Legion worked out. They're also changing Remember Me. Which is stupid because that slows the start of the collapse.

  • @Taelance said:

I disagree. I find it easier on killer than survivor. I also find it way more fun.

You talk about survivors always getting buffed. Yet they had their so called "biggest crutches," removed. Ironic that you moan about killers still been underpowered. I did and always have believed removing the "crutches" would do nothing.

Think about it, survivors lost vacuum to pallets. Yet killers have got a vacuum towards survivors, especially nurse and huntress. Lets not discuss them hitboxes.

Decisive is nerfed into the ground. You can be like. Oh but it counters tunnelling. Ummm. No it does not. You just leave them on the floor.

Borrowed time is absolutely useless. It does nothing more than place the survivor that is using that perk in the other survivors position.

You may think Mettle of Man is op. But it really isn't as most killers are not M1 warriors. if you use a killer that has a decent M2 ability and you use M1. You are probably just bad with your M2.

As a spirit main, the only thing I would say is turning up the sound of survivors. As you actually cant hear them.

You act surprised by the Legion nerfs. well this is what happens when an entire community of killers play him with no skill. The whole chasing backwards thing means that you have got multiple swings, with insane cooldown and good speed. With all this you need to get 1 hit. Just no skill. Long awaited nerf and I saw this coming all the time. Every legion I came across that used this tactic i said "you are the reason that legion will be nerfed into the ground." I knew it would happen.

@Taelance So the way to counter MoM is to play Huntress or Billy...? #seemslegit

EVERY other perk in the game has a counter. EVEN THE OLD DS HAS A COUNTER. Know what has absolutely no real counter? MoM.

As for the Legion nerf, he didn't need a NERF. We don't need more D tier killers. We need more killers that are actually viable and usable against high ranks. Which Legion already wasn't. They could have fixed him with less than half of the nerfs they gave him. Why did they lower his movement speed? Why did they make you need a fully charged frenzy if hitting someone in frenzy a second time does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING except give the survivor a speed boost? The only thing Legion needed was for Deep Wound to not tick down when you're less than X meters away from the killer. Not still inside the terror radius, because they INCREASED HIS TERROR RADIUS. They also stopped the timer when mending. Why? Just in case you get found while you're mending. These are NOT "fixes." They COULD have fixed them. They nerfed them. Flat out. The last time they tried to change Legion it was almost a buff. Know why? Because even though Legion was "braindead frenzy attacks" THEY WERE STILL LOW TIER. And this nerf makes them EVEN LOWER.

Devs already said they are changing the Pig and various other end game perks to account for the collapse. Most likely that means is when the Collapse starts the reverse beartraps will not kill you if you use the exit gates. Evidence? Look at Legion.

Most likely, the Collapse timer will just run slower when someone has a trap on their head.

  • You're welcome. =D Glad i could help.

Stop thinking a Killer shouldn't need to work for a kill. "If the Killer isn't running a tracking perk" after you gave me a list of perks and items one would need to counter the different basement camping strategy of different killers. But a Killer using a detection perk is too much?

A Hag can run to the opposite side of the map, have a trap at the top of the stairs, wait for the unhook, and apply her Mint Rag to teleport there. You want to give me a circumstance where I Survivor can hide all game, I can do it with Killers body blocking the stairs.

The only reason for someone to be mad about the basement stairs being widened is if they camp and use the stairs to body block. So you use it and know it works now. Now imagine there is a timer that will insta kill any Survivors trapped down there? Dumb and broken.

This EXACT SAME THING could happen before, but the survivors would have to disconnect to get out of the game instead. Please tell me why it's only an issue now that they'll die?

  • If a killer isn't running a tracking perk, then the survivor can urban evade around the map for an hour without getting caught. Does this make the killer bad? No. Because the survivor can literally hear the killer coming and go the other way, or hide in a locker. Survivors stall the game for absolutely no reason other than to BM the killer. That's what this collapse is for. Securing a kill is NOT toxic behavior. Stop thinking survivors deserve an escape, please.

Bleh, dang approval of edit thing. None of my edits have came back.

Your advice falls flat as all those things can be countered with any thought process on the Killer's part or add-ons like Mint Rag. You're the one upset you can't body block the stairs to get free downs cause you're upset about BT. Take your own advice.

No. I'm literally not upset at all. You're the one who's upset that the basement isn't safe. And it isn't meant to be safe. It has never been meant to be safe. What happens if you go into the basement and the killer is Leatherface? Then you die anyway. If the killer wants to waste their time to kill you in the lamest way possible, then why should that be fixed? If the killer is face camping, do gens and leave. If the killer is staying close to the basement. Do gens and leave. It's so simple a 5 year old could figure it out. Please try to figure it out yourself.

  • They have not. At least they weren't any smaller when I was playing earlier tonight. Perhaps the killer had the Overwhelming Presence perk that cuts skill check sizes in half?

  • @VexTheHex said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/428734#Comment_428734

You're angry and just repeating something I already proven to be false. Nurse. Billy. Spirit. Wraith. Hag. Legion. Insidious. Monitor & Abuse. The Huntress basement aura perk. Easy ways to get back before they can escape the basement or to mask your presence. GG.

Sprint burst. Hide in a locker at the bottom of the stairs and use Head-On. And if they're using insidious, they didn't leave and it's not a safe unhook. If the nurse is still close enough to get there before you make it out of the basement, it's not a safe unhook. Billy will have to chainsaw back, take the stun for ending the chainsaw, then come inside the building where the basement is, to trap you there. Hag CAN teleport to her traps, but that's simple, just don't set them off. Flashlight. Urban Evasion. Legion's frenzy speed is slower than sprint burst, so don't act like he actually has mobility. An invisible wraith camping is not a safe unhook. Just because you don't hear a heart beat doesn't mean it's safe. Use premonition. Then you can be sure the killer is actually gone.

    tl;dr -

    image.png

  • I think the ability for killers to open the door may be to slug a survivor, open the door, then hook said survivor, to immediately proc blood warden.

Edit because I replied before I finished reading. The part in the video where the collapse begins with 4 gens still left and all survivors alive was because they used a debug command to test the mechanic, and that's the footage we saw. The killer can only open the door once they're powered.

  • Don't go for unsafe unhooks in the basement and you won't get body blocked down there. If you wait until the killer leaves you're guaranteed to escape.

Oh look I can do it too!

  • Do you have any concept of exactly how long three minutes is in this game? And when someone is slugged, or on hook, that timer is slowed even more than that. So it doesn't hurt anything about saving people. Since 3 minutes is long enough for someone to die on their first hook if they just hang there, and struggle for the full amount of time, with another entire hook state of time left. And since the time seems to be slowed by 50% when someone is hooked, that means it DOUBLES the time that the collapse takes. Which they did specifically for end game saves.

  • @Saint_Ukraine not trying to be hostile, just trying to get a point across that this guy can't seem to wrap his head around.

  • This guy really thinks that someone will spend an entire game standing on the basement stairs and end the game with 1500 blood points just to secure one kill. Would you stand on hatch and wait for all 3 of your friends to die on hook if you got absolutely zero points for escaping through the hatch, or would you risk losing something to go get more points? Please use common ######### sense. IF this happens, it will already be during, or close to, the end game. If the killer chooses to do it, then it WASTES their time, and gives them less blood points.

  • You don't get it @NoShinyPony He wants to make sure he has a completely safe trip to the basement so the "KILLER" cannot "KILL" him down there. He thinks he should always be guaranteed a safe unhook.

The basement is DANGEROUS. It's MEANT TO BE DANGEROUS. The stairs were designed to be narrow SO THE KILLER COULD BLOCK THEM.

  • The basement is supposed to be a dangerous place for survivors to go. There shouldn't be an easy way out. If they DO actually do anything to "fix" this issue of yours, I'll be horridly disappointed. Not because I personally want to use this exploit myself, but because I'm tired of seeing killer game play nerfed. I've already stopped playing killer because it's no longer fun to me. This would just be another nerf in the long list of nerfs that killers keep getting, until the game isn't fun for ANY killer.

  • @Dreamnomad said:

I expect you will be disappointed then. Which is unfortunate because I think they did a fantastic job with the endgame collapse. It's fair to everyone. In truth the hatch has always opened as soon as the second to last survivor dies. The delay, if any, is really short but most players don't seem to realize the the survivor isn't truly dead until the animation is finished.

Think about it. When you get sacrificed, the screen doesn't fade to black and send you to the post game results until the entity carries your remains off into the sky. You typically hear the sound of the hook falling even. Until you are in the post game screen, you are still "in game".

I would actually like to do a test now that I think about it to have a KYF match where the survivors finish all the gens and the killer and survivor locate the hatch together. Then the killer does a mori to the second to last survivor in view of the hatch to see exactly how long after the animation is finished before the hatch opens.

@Dreamnomad The hatch opens as soon as the mori animation is over. Because the survivor is kicked from the game as soon as the mori animation is over.

  • Seven seconds. The time is exactly seven seconds, from when the survivor hits the hook, until the hatch opens up. That's not even enough time to finish a totem WITHOUT Thrill of the Hunt active. Please at least do some research before you make yourself look like an idiot. @akbays35

  • And they've done absolutely nothing to fix this issue. Because it isn't an issue. Because "If you're going to die, it's not holding the game hostage, it's securing a kill"

  • @VexTheHex @Saint_Ukraine It is an issue, but it's also an issue with a VERY SIMPLE COUNTER. I have issues with their "fix" to this, breaking other things.

  • @Saint_Ukraine Hopefully nothing, because it will stop the very legitimate strategy of body blocking to wait out borrowed time. If you get trapped in the basement and the killer chooses to waste his time standing there until the game is over, then that's the same as getting face camped. They won't do anything about that, so why would they do anything about this?

  • @VexTheHex said:

You clearly aren't thinking it through. Run Iron Grasp or Agitation. Basement hook the first catch. If anyone goes for the save, stand in the stairs. Even if this is before any gens are done, you now get 2 free kills. They can't leave.

@VexTheHex and in this situation you've described, the killer would leave the game with less than 10,000 blood points. Can you please tell me why this even sounds anything remotely like a good idea? If someone gets hooked in the basement, don't go to the basement when the killer is around. The end. Get over it.

  • @Victory said:

Hey, why get better at a game if you can whine and have the devs kill survivors for you, right? "I got outplayed! and they stayed end game to save a friend I got with noed!! Survivors are op!!! nerf!" Devs: "Alright, here is the plan: the entity will KILL the survivors for you! :) <3.

@Victory So what you're saying is that the hatch shouldn't exist at all? Yes I completely agree with you. Your team didn't finish 5 generators why should you be allowed a free escape because you were unable to complete your objective? Thank you for making this very valid point.

  • @VexTheHex said:

Interested in it overall minus the Killer body blocking the basement stairs being confirmed sacrifices aspect. They didn't think that one through.

@VexTheHex so don't go to the basement and get body blocked. It's really THAT simple to avoid this outcome.

  • Maybe it's perfectly fine how it is. Killer slugged someone and is trying to wait? Slugged person crawls out a door. Three minutes is a LONG TIME in this game. If the killer is slugging to wait until the end for Blood Warden, LEAVE. It's common sense. Just because one person is slugged doesn't mean everyone else isn't able to leave. Stop acting like every single survivor has to escape. That's stupid.
