  • SWF is OP because it's legitimately breaking the rules of the game, without being able to be punished for it. The rules say you cant "use an external program to give yourself an advantage". Like communicating with discord to know the location of the killer almost the entire time. Unless your SWF doesn't communicate any information to one another. "i've found ruin, it's here" or "I'm being chased by the killer here" or "my gen is almost done here" then your SWF is definitely more powerful than solo queue. Even if your friends suck, the information you exchange is what makes SWF powerful.

Translator translation: Exploiting is ok as long as I'm fine with it personally

Translation : Body blocking is only an exploit when a killer does it, but it's okay for me to crouch near the hook so the survivor on the killers shoulder wiggles free because it doesn't get anyone hooked.

100%. Survivors have been nonstop nerfed lately but I'm not sure where OP is getting their info from if this isn't bait...

    "Survivors have been nonstop nerfed"

Guess MoM was a nerf and I was misinformed.

Care to tell me what nerfs survivors have received recently @T0xicTyler ? I'm curious.

  • WAIT! Are you asking for Skill Checks that ACTUALLY REQUIRE SKILL!?!!??!@ Can't be having that now. That'd make games too hard for survivors in a game already heavily weighted in the killers favor.

  • It's broken. It's way too easy for survivors to completely prevent it from even activating. And giving survivors the ability to just completely deactivate a perk before it even gives you any useful benefit is definitely broken.

  • The problem is that the community has four times~ more survivors than killers. So they listen to the survivor whining way too often. Yes, survivors have a ton of OP perks. But most of them have also been balanced. You used to be able to use Sprint Burst multiple times in the same chase. That was super broken. Now they get a speed boost for 3 seconds, and they're still relatively easy to catch up to after, and only one time per chase. It's easy to wait out Dead Hard and just hit them after. It only works once per game. After that, you know they have it, so you wait it out. Simple. The new DS is only powerful if you tunnel as a killer. I've never been hit with DS since the change. So I can't say how annoying it is. MoM is the ONLY perk that survivors have that could be considered OP. You get hit 3 times and then you ignore a hit. Except you still get the speed boost for being hit. This is a free escape, and has no counter aside from playing a killer with an insta-down. I main Spirit. If someone has MoM it can really ######### up my game. The perk needs a major nerf, and should have been tested before going live.

It's funny you say that but if I as a survivor do 3 gens and the other 3 potatoes feed the killer endless rehooks who's being rewarded for playing bad again? The killer got rewarded because 2 stupid people gave them free kills while 1 person did 3 gens and tries for hatch.

You could say the same or Noed for bad killers that apply little to no gen pressure because they're bad. Only hook 1 person the entire game well don't worry you cans till mori them even if you sucked the entire game.

As for the op the points were already made about the double standard there.

How about when one person does all 5 gens, but then the last survivor, who's done nothing all game, sits on hatch and waits for the person who did all the gens to die on their first hook?

  • @deathsia I am of the opinion that the auto-aim feature should be removed entirely. It's a bad feature, that's completely unnecessary for the killer, exploitable from survivors, like you say, and helps carry bad killers. I've seen killers do full 180's to hit someone just because auto-aim jerks their camera. But if you really have that much trouble with people exploiting your auto-aim, then learn the signs of someone who is trying to exploit it, and don't lunge. Auto-aim only works with lunge attacks.

  • Truth. Grabs are super broken. The survivor just runs away half way through the grab animation, without even getting hit half the time.

  • @FayeZahara That post is from last year. Kind of disappointing, seeing as they said "the next chapter" and we've had four since then.

  • @HazeHound said:

@Incirion i call bs, just had a game, where i was chased only once and didnt get hit. Entire trial was huge hide and seek, i did almost 2 full gens, did 0 saves, stuns, ect. Even gate was opened by someone else and i still had one emblem more than needed to pip. And no, killer was actually pretty good.

Just like @RoKrueger said, stop caring about ranks and play for fun. Its video game, remember?

If you don't rank up who cares? You get to face easier opponent.

I like current rank because only people who did really good in even matches rank up. And staying at same ranks is super easy,.

I personally couldn't care less about ranks. But this thread is ABOUT RANKS. So I'm giving my opinion on the pipping system. It's STILL much easier to rank up as killer than survivor.

Killer needs to 3hook every survivor, win several short chases, protect all five gens for at least the first 9mins of the game, hit as much as possible with their m1 attack. Killer gets punished for playing to aggressively and finishing the game fast. The current system requires both sides to stupid things to pip. It also really punishes having a play style that focuses on only a couple aspects of the game. Killers feel the sting just as much as survivors.

There are still rank 1 killers. There aren't any rank 1 survivors as far as I'm aware.

  • I only camp if the survivor is being particularly toxic, or if all the gens are done. I've turned a 1k game into a 4k game by camping end game. If the survivors are dumb enough to throw themselves at me, who am I to stop them?

  • @KillermainBTWm8 said:

Guess you could say the other perks were toxic but DS is just an anti tunnel perk.

DS can still be toxic. I've seen people seek out the killer after getting unhooked, just so they could get their DS.

  • Jason is never going to happen, just because the F13 game already exists. Ghostface would be fantastic. He's as iconic as Freddy and Michael. Also Pinhead would be fabulous.

@FayeZahara you say that Pinhead has been confirmed to be coming to the game by some Clive Baker source?

Pennywise would be pretty great too. Everyone says that we've already got the Clown. But we had Hillbilly already when we got Leatherface.

  • Hard to pip as killer now? Not really. Hard as ######### to pip as survivor now, because you have to do 2 gens by yourself, be chased by the killer for 5 minutes, unhook and heal 3 people, and survive, just to pip at higher ranks.

  • @ReikoMori said:

Honestly, they need to make it so when a survivor vomits they can't interact with anything in that moment. Also when you he broken status you should become exhausted if you stay sick too long.

This would be perfect. This is all she needs to actually be a viable killer, and it's not even that much of a buff.

  • They even used this joke in the Samination parody videos.

  • @Poweas said:

On a NOED Hag or Spirit, that's broken. I'd rather not see that, maybe tone down the numbers to 40?

You know that there's a way to completely prevent NOED from ever activating, right?

no killers need a nerf, survivors are still more powerful than killers

    Well... There is Sally...

  • The ONLY time it's annoying when Ruin gets broken quickly, is when it's broken before I'm able to even cross the map to get to it. This means that it spawned right next to a survivor. That's the only reason anyone complains. As long as it's not found immediately, I couldn't care less.

The requirement was always to get a "Merciless Killer" rank. The difference is that the requirements to get that rank changed when they introduced the emblem system. With the recent balance changes, the required emblems to earn Merciless has gone up, and some emblems harder to earn than before. Devout is especially busted as they've gated Gold and Iridescent behind a requirement that is at odds with the killer's goals.

You only needed the 4k to get Merciless before. I've gotten several of the Adept Achievements with only a safety pip. Now you need a double pip, which is absolutely ridiculous on some of the worse killers with trash perks. You never needed a double pip until the new patch.

  • I got my Adept Legion with three d/cs. When I tried my Adept Plague, I got four sacrifices, twice, and that didn't count. I don't know if it's just that the achievement is bugged, or what, but it's mildly annoying that I can't get this achievement now.

Eh I could see that, but then survivors would just wait a short distance AWAY from the hatch, so that they can use the speed boost to negate the longer animation. It doesn't actually solve the problem, just pushes it to a different spot.

As for closing the hatch that was tested and didn't work.

I think a better solution would be just make the hatch closed and the last survivor has to pick the lock. It would be a channel action like doing a totem, something like 8 seconds maybe is fair. Give it a noise indication so that killer can hear you do it and they don't need to be right on top of it all the time. IMO that's a more fair solution. Then they could make changes to keys too. Broken Keys pick the lock at a slower rate than normal (but you don't need to be the last survivor in the trial to do it), Dull Keys pick the lock faster, maybe in like 3 seconds or something, and Skeleton Keys open it instantly. That would kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Of course this is just 1 suggestion. There are a lot of ways to do it, but I'm just making the point that a longer animation won't be the solution we are looking for. It could be, but I highly HIGHLY doubt it.

It didnt work, or it had too many survivors whining about it that they removed it...?

  • I'd say 6 million~ give or take. Rough guess.

hex ruin will be a bad idea reason killer camps the totem whatever he wants and so how the survivors do the gens and the hex lullaby also bad idea combine with Unnerving Presence combo you cannot win sorry mate but its a terrible idea

  • @thesuicidefox said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/401359#Comment_401359

Sorry but how would this fix anything? The problem with the hatch is the standoff where both players stand there until the other one makes a move. A longer animation would do nothing to solve this.

A longer animation would mean the killer could recover fast enough to grab the person when they jump in.

What they need to do is allow the killer to close the hatch. If the killer finds the hatch first, they shouldn't be punished for it. If the survivor finds the hatch first, they can escape. Why doesn't the killer get any benefit for finding it first?

  • @Captain_Spaulding said:

Not to mention that insta downs for killers literally cost 7k BP which even if you 4k you don't get to keep. If survivors escape the match they not only keep their item but their broken as ######### add ons. Lets stop pretending that BNP was the only broken add on. I can pump a gen out in 45-50 seconds with a tool box and green add ons. Now imagine if all 4 people with this get 4 gens done in roughly the same time. Am I supposed to run NOED every single time just to get 1 single hook? ######### that. Double pallets are back and are ######### everywhere. Jungle Gyms are nearly impossible now. I don't want to use nurse and billy every single game. I find them so god damn boring to play. There's a ######### ton of killers. I want variety. It's time the devs give a ######### and buff them all to billy level. Put the power in killers hands and keep it there for ######### sake. It's asymmetrical. It's supposed to be like that.

So what green tool box add ons are you using to do this? Because as far as I'm aware, the ONLY green tool box add on, is a hacksaw. Which only increases Sabo speed... So.... Are you just complaining to try to look intelligent, or are there add ons that i've never seen in my 500 hours playing this game?

So am I understanding correctly, that you can only play insta down killers now?

Mhm lets see, that comes down to billy then I guess. Spirit M1s you, hag M1s you, nurse is M1, huntress sucks, plague sucks.... mhm ok all killers play billy now =)

You obviously didn't read the post. Did you?

If you use your power to hit them, it doesn't give you a stack.

If you blink as nurse, that doesn't give a stack.

If you come out of haunting as spirit, that doesn't give a stack.

If you teleport and hit as hag, that doesn't give a stack.

If you DO trigger the perk, it's basically dead hard. You deal with your missed attack stun timer, and pursue chase, and down them again in 10 more seconds.

I’m also decent at looping a Spirit because I mainly play her, but it’s just a toss up on who is gonna win the mindgame. If she can follow scratches and footsteps very well then she’ll more than likely win. It’s one reason I put Spirit above Billy. A good Billy is easily looped, a good Spirit will usually win a mindgame easily. Spirit is loppable but she can cut it off if she knows what to do.

I will stand still at a pallet and see survivors running in circles, healing themselves, and crouch right by the pallet. If I’m lucky they’ll even vault over into me. The smart thing to do is run away from the loop in the opposite direction.

Love it when they vault across the pallet into me. And the best part is the next time they pallet stand, you can haunt around to them and hit them, because they're expecting the fake out.

  • Are yall honestly complaining about MoM though...? It's not a good perk.

    "It invalidates m1 killers"

It does the same thing Dead Hard does, except you can't use it every single time you get injured, it only works once you've been hit 3 times already.

  • Pretty much @DudeDelicious

The only things that truly piss me off are when my totem is broken before I'm able to make it to the totem, heading straight to it as soon as the match starts.

  • @fluffybunny i know if several status effects get stacked on someone at once, then that can cause major lag, and can even cause the game to crash.

Lag doesn't affect skill checks. Those are all on your end.

Lag affects skill checks if YOU'RE the one lagging. Instead of the host. If your game is laggy, not just your connection, skill checks will be laggy.

  • But MoM is op!TY#*!@EW)*!!! @DudeDelicious

Survivors OP plz nerf. remove DS, remove MoM, remove bill.

  • I like how everyone things MoM is OP. It's cute y'all think that. Flip-Flop his only good perk. lol

Clicking your flashlight is used as a way to get the attention of the killer. I would not consider it toxic.

It is toxic, because this is supposed to be a game where you don't want the killers attention.

  • @basicpitch said:

I dip out if the killer isn't ready. I know how long the queue time is and if you can't be bothered to be ready, I can't be bothered to wait. Same with survivors, ready up chodes!

So instead of waiting that extra 55 seconds, you just leave immediately? I don't ready up as killer because there are reasons I will dodge a lobby. Ever played killer against 4 identical Claudettes? It's not fun. I'll dodge that lobby every time. If I'm readied then they could potentially ready up and pull me into the game before I have a chance to dodge, which results in me task managering out during the loading screen. No thanks.

  • Playing Billy or Huntress and get Lerys or Haddonfield? D/C

I don't care. Go ahead. Those killers are trash on those maps, and everyone knows it. It's unfun to the killer to play on a map that's so skewed against them. If you're not having fun, you shouldn't be playing the game. If you aren't having fun, disconnect. Why the ######### not? Not like anything's gonna happen if you do, besides losing your offering. If you want to d/c, go ahead. I get a free 5000 points as survivor when the killer d/cs. I'm happy with that.

  • any insta-down counters it.

Using your power to hit them doesn't give it a stack.

And they dont get a speed boost when they get hit. So it's basically just a dead hard that actually works.

  • People d/c against Legion because they're too lazy to learn how to play against him. I personally don't mind going against Legion. It's fun. Especially the moonwalking ones, since it actually requires skill as survivor, and a little bit of luck, to get away from them. People say "Legion requires no skill, just moonwalk and you win" but I'd like to see those people actually chase someone backwards, on any killer. I've tried it, and that's something that would take a lot of practice. But people just want to complain about Legion being OP even though he's not really that great of a killer. It's super easy to 360 him when he's in frenzy. Literally the only thing you can't do is loop him. But guess what : looping is an exploit ANYWAY.

    TL;DR - git gud

  • @[Deleted User] said:

@Mcfred nope, not just that. There’s a clear, distinct violin stab kinda noise that is only heard by the killer at the beginning of every chase started with the obsession. It’s not heard when beginning a chase with any other survivor.

Yes, that's true, but if the two of them are together, how am I supposed to tell them apart without chasing one after they separate. I main Spirit. I attack a lot coming out of phase, my eye sight can tell me "That's Meg, don't hit her" before the sound does.

  • That does seem to be how it works here @DudeDelicious

  • @Mcfred said:

    4 claudets wearing black. Ooooh no you don't {Killer has disconnected}

Depending on the perk build I'm using, I've dodged lobbies if I get two or more people dressed exactly the same. If I'm using STBFL, then I need to be 100% sure who's who.

I do that quite often if I run into the same toxic player twice in a row. I’m not against running Prayer Beads and the Amulet and making your round hell if you want to try and BM me. I don’t typically get players trying to play overly toxic toward me since it’s kinda hard to be toxic toward a good Spirit. You can’t loop a good Spirit.

Looping a good Spirit is possible if the survivor mains Spirit as their killer. I'm pretty good at looping a Spirit when I play survivor, because I know when to keep looping, and when to run to the next loop, used pallet or not.

What I don't understand is when people try to self-care at pallets against a spirit. I had two people d/c on me because i downed them at pallets while they were self-caring. It's a good time.

  • I feel like they didn't even read the thread @DudeDelicious They just wanted to come in and give an opinion of something they don't understand to try to look smart.

  • @iceman2kx said:

I think something that could help is by adding infinite randomized minor rituals. So we could keep our daily rituals but after you are finished with them, have minor rituals that would award something like 5k BPs and you could do as many as you want. Randomized rituals will pop up (e.g. "Complete 1 sacrifice with the Clown"). You get a new ritual for every ritual you complete.

It would encourage people to play a variety of killers so they complete the rituals for the additional BPs. People that do not want to participate can continue to play killers as they choose and just not earn ritual BPs.

    *edit

Same with the survivor side having continuous rituals.

This is a great idea. And a 5k reward actually isnt a bad idea, because 5k is nothing in a game. Maybe not "complete one sacrifice" because that would just encourage hook camping to make sure the person died. But it's a great idea in general. The devs need to see this.

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 10
