Most of your posts are just you reiterating this.
Hmm, I wonder why..
Obviously because I’m a biased killer main, right? Is that what you’re implying?
Your “us vs them” garbage is getting old. -
best thing to do is just ignore the complaints. A vast majority of the complaints come from people who have never bothered to play killer and thus have no idea what it takes to win against decent survivor teams.

I find it astonishing that someone at BHVR thought this was a good idea.
Making bad changes that nobody asked for is kind of a tradition here
-
I don’t think it’s necessary gotten worse, I think it’s always been bad. BHVR seem to be totally fine with killer players with 200+ pings ruining the game for survivors, so I don’t expect we’re going to see any improvement here.
-
I mean, what did you expect?
-
They are fine with it. this issue has been brought up countless times on the forums. BHVR has made it very clear that they have no plans to implement ping limits in lobbies. This would vastly improve player experience, but would mean also mean fewer players. They have decided that revenue $ are more important than player experience.
-
and yet another thing hyped up that provided nothing but disappointment
-
I don’t have stats because I think it’s stupid that we have to jump through hoops to get them. I don’t want to sign up for a newsletter and I don’t want to sign up for a BHVR account. These stats should be available to every player, regardless of what platform they play on, and they should be live every time you log in. You shouldn’t have to do a bunch of extra stuff and then wait for an occasional update to get emailed to you. Ridiculous
-
dead hard is totally fine. Still meta in most of the matches I’m in. MFT could probably use some slight buffs as it’s pretty useless in its current state

This is one of the worst decisions BHVR has ever made. Nobody wants to play with a bot on their team.
I guess we’ll see if they are really listening to player feedback when we get to the next 2v8 mode and we know whether or not they went forward with it
-
BHVR has known about this issue for a while, claimed they fixed it, didn’t fix it, has offered no explanation about why they said it was fixed even though it wasn’t, has offered no timeline for actually fixing it, and on top of that won’t kill switch even though this bug is being exploited en masse. The way they are handling this is simply inexcusable. But I guess they can get away with doing nothing about it as long as people keep playing the game.

Numbers dont lie. 10 million player base in 2020 to 6 million for today. almost 50% and a lot of more incentives, licenced, game modes and still less number than years ago. This game is boring and sazonal now and devs dont care about.
Activeplayer.io? I have never heard of this site. Where are they getting their data from?
-
I agree that matchmaking is by far the biggest problem with solo queue. Every single time I play, I will get matched with brand new players in at least one of my lobbies. Getting paired with teammates that can last more than 30 seconds in a chase is extremely rare. I have no problem escaping at the 40% average rate if I have semi-competent teammates.
On the killer side, I have a different experience. A. vast majority of the survivors I face know are very skilled and seek to know how to correctly run every loop in the game, know how to string loops together, play windows and jungle gyms, etc. every survivor team I face, I wish I had those teammates in my solo queue matches!
-
-
BP incentives are still broken as well. I’ve lost all hope that anything in this game is ever going to get fixed
-
logged in to play tonight and found 25% incentive for survivor and no incentive for killers. Killer queues are instant and survivor queue was 3 minutes. I’ve lost all hope that anything in this game is ever going to get fixed

Yes, still bugged despite BHVR saying that they fixed it. Never trust BHVR.
It sure seems par for the course these days, doesn’t it. I guess they can keep getting away with this kind of stuff as long as people are still playing the game
-
Not really. This is something that should have been readily available for all players since the game was launched. It’s taken almost 9 years for the devs to do something that should have been a base part of the game to begin with. Not only that, they’re making you sign up for a newsletter to get the stats. It’s incredibly frustrating but in no way surprising
-
I’d personally be fine if the Chaos Mode was thrown into the garbage bin. I’ve never been interested in it, have never played it in the past, and don’t have any interest in playing it in the future
-
It's clear that most people complaining about slugging have never played killer before. Yes, sometimes killers to it just to be jerks, but it is often required to counter things the survivors are doing, like lying in wait for a flashbang/flashlight/pallet save. I'll give you my own perspective as someone who actually plays killer. I don't slug people just for the hell of it unless they are intentionally BMing me (t-bagging at pallets, flashlight clicking, etc.) I do it because it's the right play given the situation. In so many of my killer matches, I've downed someone, noticed someone else close by, gone after them in a chase, and then later come back to find that the first survivor has crawled away, nowhere to be found. I'm not going to waste minutes trying to find that first person to hook them, so you're going to just have to stay slugged. This "slugging problem" is often self-inflicted by what the survivor players are doing. If you want to make it easy for the killer to come back and find you and hook you, don't crawl to the other side of the map.

Yep, it's very frustrating how stingy they are with providing any stats related to the game
-
I can understand why BHVR don't want players to see others' MMRs in lobbies, but I don't understand why they won't at least show us our own MMR. If someone wants to tank MMR to try to get easier opponents, they're going to do it regardless. Other than that, I can't think of any conceivable reason to not let players see it other than BHVR's historical tendency to be extremely non-transparent with game data/stats.

I'm so done playing survivor during events. Sick and tired of being treated as a prop to be pushed around by disgruntled killers.
If you want to make your judgments about the game based on your experience with one killer players out of the thousands and thousands out there, go ahead. This is pretty uncommon in my experience

you are ignoring that going next on hook counts towards stats, and going next on hook is way, way more common in soloQ than DCing because people want a free card out of the match asap, but with 0 punishments
this is a very good point. Survivors going next is way more common than DC’s, which actually inflates the kills rates. Escape rates in “normal matches” where there are no DC’s or survivors giving up is actually higher than 40%.

This means nothing. A solo player can be as good as they want to be but if the other survivors are hiding and doing nothing like they always seem to do, then you cannot do 5 gens alone. This is happening way too much and it begs the question as to why queue as a survivor if all you're doing is nothing at all. Sure you can "report" it for not participating, but BHVR does NOTHING to enforce this.
ok, well that kind of stuff is probably happening in the 60% of matches in which you don’t escape. It doesn’t happen every match, otherwise the solo queue average escape rate would be 0%. Not sure what your point is here

I am sorry for saying this but that's terrible decision.
Dead by Daylight is PvP game and i'd like to have real human teammates, not bots. Even it means longer queues, i will take human over bot any day. I really hope the team rethink about this.
Agree 100%. This is a bad decision. There will be a huge net decrease in people who queue up for special events, which will just make the problem with long queue times even worse. I absolutely will not play either killer or survivor if I know there is a chance that the match will start with bot players.
-
A better solution would be for BHVR to overhaul the terrible bloodweb system. The button to auto-buy for each level was a good improvement, but there needs to be a better way to spend a large number of BP in one sitting. It's still super boring and a huge waste of time. Not to mention all the useless items, add-ons and offerings that nobody ever uses. The whole thing needs a major overhaul.

Well, here you go.
These are my games of the evening. I won 6 out of 6 (100%):
https://youtu.be/Fi8Dv4hYwjE?si=1EjXosJ8YHUYh7fp
Disclaimer for forum killer mains™: I'm not an exceptional killer player. When you watch the recordings you might see a lot of mistakes, and I can spot some myself. Yet notice how despite these mistakes I still manage to win way more than 60%, and it seems like you can't, and I'm not the one pretending to be high MMR. My survivors will definitely not look high-MMR to some of you, but they did send me to a map 4 out of 6 times, so maybe a bit of self-reflection... Surely if a noob like me can win, you can too right? Even better, since survivor is OP why not record 6 wins in a row on survivor and share it as well?
(The disclaimer isn't addressed to you @I_Cant_Loop as I know you're actually sincere, that said, I still heavily disagree with your message)
A surrender button would be universally abused. People would quit for just about any reason, as we've seen in the past during periods when the DC penalties were suspended. The game would become unplayable for anyone not in a 4-man SWF group. I know you can't force people to try in a game, but at least make it inconvenient and time-consuming to leave a match.
PEOPLE. ALREADY. SUICIDE. ALL THE TIME.
My video even shows it, I've had people give up twice at 5 gens TWO games out of SIX.
Then everybody wastes their time for 10 minutes EXACTLY as OP describes, INCLUDING THE KILLER.
Watch at 28:29 then at 48:14 .
3vs1 at 4 gens with a bot. At this point of the match, survivors have 0 chance to win. If a surrender button was available, who would abuse it, when even ME, the killer, want to leave? I genuinely don't understand the point of playing these out. Do you enjoy playing the 3vs1 at 5 gens as the killer? Do you find it fair to punish the remaining survivors for what their random teammate did?
People are ALREADY abusing the system and the ONLY players for whom it is "inconvenient and time-consuming to leave" are the ones who are PLAYING FAIR, and ESPECIALLY THE KILLER.
These games aren't cherry-picked, you can check I literally recorded this hours ago, and this happens to me almost every day. When it's not the survivors who give up it's the ######### servers which randomly start an unplayable match with 300+ ping for everyone. And yeah I know I use a lot of caps but we're talking HOURS of my life being wasted every month by the EXACT SAME ISSUE OP DESCRIBED, and understand my frustration when not only do me, every streamer that I know of, and MILLIONS of soloQ players have to endure hours of our life getting wasted, we then also have to endure killer mains who live on a different planet and somehow defend this abomination of gameplay on the forums.
Do you have some video of your killer gameplay that you could share? I'm naturally skeptical when people on this forum claim that they "win all the time" as killer. People come on this forum and claim this all the time, yet not one of them has ever backed it up with video of their gameplay. I'm not trying to flame you - hope you can understand why I'm skeptical.
Well that's not really true. I previously shared killer gameplay here, and others like Pulsar did as well.
The problem is that it's useless, because at this point 90% of killer defenders here ignore everything factual. They ignore BHVR stats, Nightlight stats, as well as the hundreds of players who managed to do ridiculous streaks on the killer side but not on the survivor side, it's not a few more videos that will change their mind.
You can find this old topic of mine: FACECAMPING EXPERIMENT - 36 game win streak (old account).
I recommend you read it. The tone was provocative, but the gameplay was there, 36 wins in a row. Now picture yourself that recording hours of winstreaks to make a forum argument took me quite some time and was also quite stressful. But finally I had it, 36 wins in a row, just by facecamping, as a complete beginner. Wasn't that overwhelming proof that camping is too strong? Well apparently it was not, according to forum killer mains who came with a variety of excuses: either my survivors were too low MMR, or the number of games was still too low of a sample size, or I was playing a too strong killer (Nurse, even though I couldn't aim #########) or I was smurfing. First I had recorded only 10 games and thought it was low, so I continued up to 18. Then I continued up to 36.
That's literal weeks of recordings and hours of upload. Did I convince anybody with it? Nope, doubt 95% of those who replied even watched more than a few seconds. People here continued to defend facecamping for an entire year until BHVR finally fixed it.
The irony is that to this day I still win easily by camping & tunneling EXACTLY as as I explained in this topic (you can't facecamp anymore but you can still proxy camp which is just as effective, if not more). When I read this topic 2 years later, it baffles me, that with only 10 hours of killer I somehow had already figured out critical balance issues, that BHVR still has not.
If you're really winning all the time, even after getting into the high MMR range, then you would be among one of the best players in the world.
Fair point, I don't think I'm one of the best players in the world, but my guess is that MMR in DBD fundamentally doesn't work like in other games. I don't know how it's even mathematically possible for "high MMR" to be a thing when the winrate targeted by the very own balance team is 60%, while MMR is designed to achieve 50%. My guess is that there are a lot of high-MMR players on the killer side and very few on the survivor side, in that case what you say is correct, but it's not "the best players in the world" who can achieve very high winrate, probably more like top 10% of the killer population and top 1% of the survivor population.
I don't think I'm a high MMR killer. I watched a lot of DBD videos on Youtube but my profile says less than ~500 hours on killer (about 1000 on surv). But the FACT is, I win way more than 60% and most games are not even close. sure I don't win ALWAYS, but I'd say typically 60-80% depending on the killer, with some days at 100% and 10- winstreaks happening randomly. Btw I only shared 6 games but I'll continue recording & uploading every game from now on to the YT channel above, so there will be more games over time and you can eventually check that the footage is uninterrupted.
Otzdarva also shared hours and hours of killer streaks with all kind of silly challenges, including some where he was playing perkless Trapper and spent 1 minute being AFK. Now I know you and I are not Otzdarva, but if he can win 50 games in a row on Trapper, it means even for rookies like you and I it shouldn't be too hard to reach at least 60% winrate. In contrast, notice how Otz never shared any sort of soloQ streak…
Thanks for sharing the video! I haven't watched yet but will do later today and looking forward to seeing your gameplay. You're the only one on this forum who has ever actually put their money where their mouth is :)

No one needs to prove it because practically every killer main who streams achieves a 90%+ win rate when they are playing to win. There's a mountain of evidence out there for anyone who wants to see it. Someone like me who has 4500+ hours winning the large majority of my killer games in pub matches shouldn't be hard to believe at all. We're not playing against comp level survivors.
So we're drawing conclusions about the typical player experience based on streamers who play this game 18 hours a day for a living? OK

The skills are there. Been practicing heavily. For hours and hours. But when killers slug and camp and tunnel there isn't much you can do.
I don’t know what else to tell you. The stats are the stats (assuming they are still true - BHVR rarely updates them). I can tell you that personally I can escape around 40% of the time if I have semi-competent teammates that at least try and don’t intentionally throw the game or go next. And I’m a pretty casual player - definitely not a pro by any means. There’s no data to show that there is a major balance issue with solo queue for the player population as a whole.
-

Once upon a time I could play this game solo and have a great mix of good and bad games, even without being able to communicate. Now, I can't survive a single game in over 10 matches for tunneling, proxy camping hooks, lethal pursuer, increased hit box, and an inability to communicate with anyone in game. My friends used to play but they refuse to play anymore because of the same reasons.
Once upon a time this game went both ways. Now we are nothing but helpless and loosing faith in game that used to be a lot of fun to win and lose.
If devi could just design a version where survivors actually get to fight back that'd be great.
Average solo queue escape rate is 40%. If you’re consistently escaping at a far lower rate, then you should be focusing on improving your own skills rather than demand that survivors be buffed/and or killers be nerfed.

I never dc, but my game does crash, a lot. Only DBD, not any other game. For some time my game keeps crashing on me, mostly in the middle or right at the end of matches. My screen freezes up and then I'm met with the DBD logo, then the matchmaking is locked for 1 minute, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, then 45 minutes. And today, I got a 6 hour penalty cause my game crashed in my second match.
I've tried to contacting DBD support and praying for someone to answer me, but no one does, which only upsets me more. I'm actually worried about getting a permanent ban because of this, or weeks penalty for reasons I can't even control. I put time and money into this, and I love DBD. And it's not even me doing the dc'ing.
If your game crashes a lot, sorry but you should not be playing because you are ruining the game for other people. This is the whole point of the DC penalty. It's not just to prevent ragequitters from playing, but also people who don't have reliable internet connections or equipment. I would suggest playing customs matches and try to fix your stability issues first, then hopefully once you get those resolved, come back to public matches.

Even if I know there is a possibility of a bot being placed in a match from the beginning, I'm done. I don't care whether or not whether bots players are specifically identified in lobbied.

Yeah it's annoying to wait for survivors to leave the exit gate, but if they don't leave right away I know they're waiting there to teabag because they can't be mature enough to win without taunting. The game doesn't notice because the servers do not do any sanity checks, looking for impossibilities such as a character moving at ridiculous speeds or flying.
It continues to baffle me how servers cannot auto-detect this stuff. I refuse to believe it's not technically possible to detect something happening in the game that shouldn't be possible without cheating. It's very frustrating that BHVR have not devoted resources to making this happen, and have instead put the burden on players to use a cumbersome reporting system that some people may not even be use if they don't have the ability to record their matches.

100% agree. This should be available in the game itself and not force players to sign up for a newsletter they may not want. It would also be great if BHVR published live stats for kill rates/escape rates for all killers, MMR levels, # of SWF together, etc. I doubt they ever will - there's a reason they haven't done it over all these years when they very easily could have.
-
I haven't spent money on the game in a long time, and after seeing this, I feel even better about that decision. Even if BHVR reverses course on this, it's pretty sad that it will only be due to community backlash instead of them doing the right thing for the customer in the first place.

I played when before DC penalties existed. People DC'd or suicided less than they do now, in my experience. Maybe I just didn't play like an ass tho idk
Trapping people inside of miserable matches that they don't want to be a part of isn't the right solution. Not making matches miserable would be a preferable solution, but BHVR won't do that.
Turn off DC penalties, remove the pre-game lobby, don't show usernames in-game, remove hook suicides. Someone wants out? They are allowed to leave and give their team a fighting chance with a bot. Their team won't know the DC'd and neither will the Killer. I'd rather have a bot that tries over a teammate that doesn't.
I respectfully disagree. Although you are correct that bots are better than someone who doesn't want to try, no DC penalties means that survivors will DC at the slightest inconvenience because there is no punishment. The time bans help keep chronic DC-ers out of game queues, which is the whole point. Removing time bans means that these crybaby quitters are going to stay in the queue population and far more matches are going to have people who don't want to try. The whole point of the DC penalty system is to prevent these people from queueing up for games.
-
These stats are based on such a low sample size, it's ridiculous to draw any conclusions from them. Unfortunately, BHVR refuses to provide any data other than a few very selective releases once in a blue moon.
