Incredibly overrated. I've already swapped it back out for Adrenaline. Couldn't care less if they nerf it. The only problem it has is the fact that it can be stacked with Hope in the end game. That's definitely a bit too strong. For most uses I really don't think it's as great as people are saying.
-
The latest perk that killers overreact to. I remember everyone going on about hyperfocus and now only 1% of survivors even use it.
-
I genuinely don't know how to respond when I see people say facecamping isn't an issue. My only guess is these people exclusively play killer and have never touched solo queue for any meaningful amount of time.
-
I hope it's insanely strong and lasts for close to a year so killer mains have to endure what survivors did with eruption. Only seems fair.

High mmr killers lobby shop too much. It messes up matchmaking really bad and distributes high mmr survivors down the ladder to weaker casual killers completely ruining their experience. BHVR should just remove lobby shopping either by locking everyone in lobby and penalizing for dodging or by hiding survivors, items, prestiges, profiles from killers
The fact that killers can still examine everyone's profile before the match begins makes no sense at all.
-
Usually salt. A lot of killers hate it when they get thoroughly outplayed by one person. People like this are the ones who will facecamp and repeatedly hit you on the hook after a four gen chase. That's when you know you've done a good job. In these situations I don't even care about escaping anymore. Knowing I made the killer that salty just by playing well is satisfaction enough for me.
-
The longer you live the more you realize how unhinged a lot of people really are. There's also the fact that some people just take this game way too seriously for their own good.
-
It's a well known fact that the matchmaking doesn't work well. Even a lot of high profile killer main streamers have said as much. I've seen people like Otz and Tofu get matched with survivors who have 50 hours. Absolutely no way people like this are high MMR. You can also cheese the system by dodging lobbies until you get easier games. If I am on a high prestige survivor then it's not uncommon for me to see 4-5 dodges before I get a killer who actually stays. My assumption is there are problems with the backfill and at certain times of day there just aren't enough people to fill games with players who are at the same MMR.
-
Freddy, Trickster, and Artist. Trickster in particular is a killer I never see anymore. I’ve seen maybe one in my last 300 matches. I get a lot of hags oddly enough.
-
What a lot of less experienced killers don’t realize is that the so called “gen rush” is often their own doing. The last few days or so I have won substantially more games than I typically do in solo. It was always due to killers mindlessly tunneling and paying zero attention to what is going on around them. I’d be at 80% on a gen and the killer would literally just run by me in order to tunnel. No effort to even force me off. Of course the gens are going to fly when there is zero pressure on anyone else. This may not apply to you specifically but there are A LOT of killers like this who have zero situational awareness or game sense. Players like this aren’t being gen rushed. They’re just bad at the game.

I knew there would be a forum post about this video…
99.9% of your lobbies will never come close to playing like this.
Haven't you heard? High MMR lobbies are only esports players with 50k hours each. The gens are all done in 15 seconds and killers can't get a single hook.
-
Nope. I win the vast majority of my killer games and under half of my survivor games (exclusively solo q). I would bet a significant amount of money that the kill rates aren't as low as some killer mains seem to think they are. They probably aren't significantly different than they used to be. Some people just got hard carried by being able to infinitely stall gens with the gen kick meta. Naturally the game is harder to people who crutched on perks.
-
Most people who DC or suicide in my games do so because they're being hard tunneled or because the game is a lost cause from the start. I don't see that many people just give up for no reason that much.
-
Good. Behavior has been doing much better recently.
-
The period before old dead hard got changed was by far the hardest killer has ever been in this game. I was at the height of my killer main phase when old dead hard was out in full force. Going against a four man SWF where everyone had dead hard and used it properly was the most unpleasant thing i've ever experienced in this game. People who started playing killer after it got changed have no idea. It's part of the reason why I can't take complaints about how "hard' killer is seriously.
-
Seeing the perks some of the people on this forum use... I can definitely see why a lot of you think playing killer is hard. Builds like this won't cut it against good survivors.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
It wont really change much. The Survivor will still be on that Hook and if the Killer needs to be a bit away, they will still be back quite fast. It will allow an Unhook, but the Survivor will still be tunneled since there is still no real Anti-Tunnel mechanic in this game (aka something which does not resolve around Endurance).
It is not like the Survivor will be unhooked, fully healed and teleported to the next Gen or Exit Gate. They will still be there, the Killer will just have to leave a little bit of distance.
At the very least it will buy more time. A big problem in solo queue is disorganized players hovering around the hook while trying and failing to unhook against a facecamping killer. Now at least they'll be able to make that unhook in some cases.

In the last week I've had a winrate of around 30%, and by win I'm including any games where I get more than 1 kill. I get that I don't play the strongest killers and I'm not the most experienced person in the game but I am I stupid for thinking that there's something seriously wrong if I'm getting zero kills, and sometimes zero downs, in the majority of my matches?
This is an issue on your end. Even the weakest killers had around an 60% kill rate in the top 5% MMR. If you get zero downs and zero kills frequently then you're doing something wrong. I don't know what perks you bring or what your experience level is but I usually manage at least two kills even in my bad games.
-
Tunneling is only so effective because of bad matchmaking and lack of survivor efficiency. In most games there is that one guy who is noticeably worse than everyone else. As a killer it's not hard to zero in on who the worst player is. I always hear people say "tunneling is the only way to beat good survivors" but I find the opposite to be true. If you're playing against an actual good team that is strapped with anti tunnel perks, bnps, no weak links, etc then you might not even be able to get one person out of the game before they finish the gens. A good survivor with anti tunnel perks can last a long time in chase if you aren't equally skilled and also playing as a strong killer. If more survivors would bring perks like OTR or even DS then tunneling would be a much less effective strategy. I'm basing this largely off of my own experience. I've had countless games where killers threw the game to tunnel me. I always make sure to go into every game with perks related to chase and tunneling. It works well for me and I don't understand why more survivors don't play this way.
-
To me not very often. It happens to my less experienced teammates constantly.
-
What people really want nerfed is good survivors. They don't like being outplayed by strong teams that can't be easily facecamped or tunneled. Some people seem like they just want to cruise to victory without any real opposition. Objectively survivor has been heavily nerfed compared to a year ago.
- Circle of Healing nerfed
- Dead Hard nerfed
- Iron Will nerfed
- Decisive Strike nerfed
- Spine Chill/Resilience vault build nerfed
- Medkits nerfed
- Speed Boost on hit nerfed
- Gens increased by 10 seconds
I really don't understand what people want them to nerf when practically everything has already been nerfed. The only thing that hasn't been nerfed is toolboxes at this point. I heard for years about how dead hard was the reason everyone was losing. It's gone and people are still complaining. Complaints are so silly now that there are people whining about windows of opportunity of all things.
-
100 hours is nothing. The matchmaking in this game is awful so you need to keep in mind that you're going to routinely get matched with survivors who have THOUSANDS of hours. It's a mismatch from the beginning. The same thing happens to unprepared solo teams when they get matched with 5000 hour alch ring blights.
-
This is actually an issue I almost never encounter. In well over 3000 hours I have seen maybe 2-3 afk killers who swing at nothing. In 100 games I run into maybe 1-2 farming killers on average. Most killers I run into play the game like their life is on the line.
-
Bad killers with zero game sense or skill in chase soon won't be able to get free wins due to mindlessly patrolling a three gen that they immediately committed to at the start of the match? Let me break out the world's smallest violin. Absolutely no one who plays survivor is going to miss these types of killers. I'm very glad to see Behavior is finally realizing many of the fundemental flaws in the design of their game. Finally we can go into an era where the game is based purely around chase. Not around facecamping and three genning. It feels like the worst days of this game are finally coming to an end.
-
Isn't it crazy how people claim to be in top MMR yet also claim that winning as killer is impossible? It doesn't even make any sense. If killer is so hard then how did you get to high MMR to begin with? If it's so hard then how are you sure you're even still in high MMR? It's funny because I can go on twitch and turn on any streamer and watch them barely lose as killer. We recently had a random guy lose a 300+ win streak as clown. I play killer almost every day and I do not encounter these death squads that so many killers claim they go against every game. There are a lot of games that go down to the wire but after well over 3000 hours I am still waiting on these comp teams that so many people claim exist at high MMR. Whenever I see anyone mention Hyperfocus then I immediately know they can't be taken seriously. Literally whining about a perk that 1% of players use. Getting an entire team that uses this build is even more rare.
-
Easy and requires zero skill or effort. You don't have to be good in chase or have good game sense to win. Most solo teams are not coordinated enough to break a three gen from a killer like skull merchant. Either that or they just don't want to deal with a 30 minute game and will immediately give up in order to avoid it.
-
Sometimes you just get uncontrollably mad for stupid reasons. Earlier I was sandbagged by a Leon which gave the killer a free hit. I then ran directly into a zombie after being hit with a tentacle. This was my last game in a long five hour session. It was a perfect storm of things that made me rage quit. A combination of dumb teammates and my own lack of awareness.
-
Glad I bought all of the cosmetics before it left. It's just a shame we'll never get entirely new survivors. There was so much potential there.

Less camping = More tunneling.
More tunneling = More Camping.
Less tunneling + less camping = More slugging.
This is how it works. They tackle one issue and create another because instead of treating a problem right at the root they treat symptoms. Their intentions are good but we'll see how well this actually works.
Killers who rely on facecamping can't chase worth anything anyway so I am completely fine with them attempting to tunnel more.
-
I personally only know two people who quit. Both did so over tunneling and three genning. It was basically "every game is the same old ****" sort of stuff.
-
I would but my entire build is dedicated to anti tunneling.
- Off The Record to make tunneling harder.
- Exhaustion perk to make tunneling harder.
- Windows of Opportunity so I can make better decisions while i'm being ruthlessly tunneled.
- Resilience so I can vault faster while being tunneled.
Don't have room for anything else.
-
Thanks for not playing Skull Merchant.
-
The issues in this game all revolve around how bad matchmaking is. Otz was talking yesterday about how as killer you can just dodge lobbies you don't like and never actually have to play a hard game. You will always get weak survivors if you dodge enough lobbies due to how terrible the matchmaking is. Lobby dodging leading to 4000 hour killers being matched with brand new survivors should not be a thing. They need to do more to make sure lower skill survivors are blocked off from being matched with sweaty killers.
-
It's all the lobby dodging. There are 6-7 per game when I am on a high prestige survivor. Killers just dodge over and over again until they break the matchmaking and get easy survivors like this. God forbid they have to play against competent survivors. Gotta preserve that ego.
-
Is it currently ban worthy? Like if you send a video of the killer bleeding you out and bming will they get a temp ban for griefing? There's a very clear line between slugging to win and bleeding people out just to be toxic. I've never actually known the answer to this. I feel like people would be less likely to do it if escalating bans existed.
-
It's crazy how so many people don't want this game to be fair at all. Just delete exit gates and the hatch while you're at it. Killer wins every time and the challenge is to see how long you can survive.
-
It will continue to lose players if they put out another awful chapter. Saying it will die is ridiculous. This game has no actual competition so it'd be very hard for it to die out. Terrible games like modern World of Warcraft survived a decade past their prime due to having no competition. DBD will be fine.
-
Literally all they need to do is add a strong anti tunneling perk that is available to everyone from the start. Beginners and casuals have literally nothing they can use against tunneling. Kind of ridiculous to lock anti tunnel behind DLC to be honest.

I'll take the occasional (like maybe once every few weeks) 4 min break to get a snack or watch a short vid over the dumpster fire forced cutscene finisher mori/basekit unbreakable system.
Every few weeks? You either don't play as much as me or your killers aren't anywhere near as sweaty. I get multiple games like this every time I play.
-
@Rudjohns said:
Basekit Unbreakable when all survivors are in the dying state, and when there are 2 survivors left in the game
Now
I don't even need this. Just add a give up button if there are two survivors left. I've had these hide and seek scenarios go on for 10+ minutes so many times in the past because of people picking up the slugged survivor.
-
Solo is completely unplayable. I was tunneled for four gens in a game today by a Nemesis. Generally my first thought when I get tunneled is "good" because I have thousands of hours of survivor experience and I bring strong perks to make it harder. It's preferable that I get tunneled instead of my teammates who last 20 seconds in chase. What does my team do during this ridiculously long tunnel? They run around cleansing totems and then just stop doing gens entirely. Eventually the entire team starts trying to bodyblock for me. What is this supposed to accomplish? The killer will eventually catch me regardless of how much you bodyblock. I don't know why so many survivors don't understand how to play around a tunneling killer. Just do the gens so we all have the chance of getting out. It goes without saying that I eventually died. I can overcome mediocre killers who are trying to tunnel me. What I can't overcome is tunneling killers AND teammates who are useless. It's so frustrating to see an easy four man out turned into a 4K because of your teammates.

Why required? You can totally get out in EGC without it, just due to body blocking.
According to Nightlight, BT dropped from 36% before perk overhauls to 3.6% now. Just bc. of base BT effect. Disabling only base BT in end game but not the perk, would give some incentive to run it more again. It would still be far away from the former 36%. And since BT perk doubles the duration of endurance, an increase in BT pick rates might actually have a small effect against tunneling, simply because waiting out the base BT timer would fail more often.
We both know people will never use BT now that it's basekit. They've already opened that door and they can't close it. No one would devote a slot to it. People gave the same advice when the initial incarnation of BT was released. The five seconds and lack of a speed boost were so completely useless that killers just waited it out and hard tunneled everyone off to the hook. People said "just use the perk" and no one did. It was so bad that they had to buff basekit BT. It would be exactly the same with this.
-
I don't know why people default to "killers camp and tunnel because of X reason". Killers were literally camping and tunneling at peak levels when eruption was at its most broken. People do it because it's ez mode and there is no other reason.
-
The issue is the best anti tunnel perks are gated behind dlc. This means the casuals who need anti tunnel protection the most won’t usually have it. A good survivor with otr and ds can make the killer waste enough time that they effectively throw the game to get one kill. Tunneling can exist but it needs to be a high risk high reward strategy. Right now it’s a guaranteed win if there is even a single bad survivor or one who didn’t bring anti tunnel. There is zero downside to tunneling in an average match which is why everyone does it now. The only teams that can currently beat hard tunneling are organized SWF. Add a general perk or some sort of basekit option.
-
Agree with Shalo. The amount of games that are over in the first two minutes is by far the biggest problem in this game. The game is almost always a slaughter regardless of who wins. Every game plays out in a limited number of ways.
- Someone DCs or hook suicides in the first two minutes which is gg.
- The 7000 hour killer tunnels out a 200 hour Dwight at 4-5 gens and the game is effectively over. This often causes people to DC as well.
- The killer is so bad that he gets 1-2 downs over the entire course of the game. Even worse is the matchmaking put him in a game with a team that has a combined 25k hours.
I rarely see games that are close. Maybe 1/4 or 1/5 at best. It's just so often you get into a game and feel like "That was a complete waste of my time". This is the best argument for why anti tunnel and something like basekit corrupt intervention should exist. Games shouldn't last 45 minutes but they also shouldn't be over before they even start.

mike, your mmr goes up as you win games in a row. have you considered that they could just be a good player?
Ignoring how broken Blight is... I don't know how anyone can honestly believe this game has a matchmaking system that gives you strong opponents consistently. I see 50 hour players get matched with people who have 5000+ consistently in matches I play. There is so much evidence of this on streams as well. Yet people still go on about high MMR this and low MMR that.

@Krazzik said:
Getting downed early on isn't really a good reason to screw over the rest of your teammates, just sayin'.
Guarantee the amount of tunneling plays a part in it. It's pretty much a 50/50 these days as to whether or not the first person down will be ruthlessly tunneled out. Most average players can't deal with that.
-
It was a factor i'm sure. I don't think it's the only reason. The biggest problem with those perks is they promoted the most boring playstyle in the entire history of this game. A lot of killers would literally just run back and forth between gens for 30+ minutes. It wasn't exclusive to knight either.
-
My problem with camping and tunneling is that they're just cheap ways to beat disorganized solo players. If you're up againt a strong SWF with no weak links then they can just say "Just do the gens" while the killer tunnels one person. Camping can be easily countered by a coordinated rescue. SWFs also tend to bring strong perks that make tunneling/camping significantly more difficult. In solo your entire team might bodyblock for you which does absolutely nothing but slightly delay your innevitable death. There's no guarantee that your teammates have perks to counter tunneling/camping either. That's why killers immediately zero in on the guy with 150 hours because they know he has no way to fight back. The real reason killers don't want to play against SWFs is because they're the only teams that can consistently counter this type of gameplay. That's why SWFs get 7-8 lobby dodges before a killer actually stays. A lot of killers don't think the game is fair unless they can bully solo players who aren't capable of communicating with each other. A very large number of medicore killers are hard carried by these tactics along with terrible matchmaking that make them easier to use successfully.
