Lemme explain myself real quick.
I noticed in the recent hotfix that flashlights had their angle changed yet again, so in order to test it out I put on a green flashlight with two battery addons. When I loaded into the match the killer (Trapper) noticed me and started chasing me on Ormond, and whenever I threw down a pallet I would blind him so I could get used to the new angle for the flashlight. After he chased me for some time he downed me and when I got put on hook he repeatedly hit me despite the fact that I didn't BM him or do anything disrespectful. Long story short I manage to escape the round and I asked him why he BM'd me so much and he told me that if you blind the killer at the pallet instead of running away its apparently BM and always has been, but I have 1220 hours in the game and I've never heard anyone call it BM. Was this guy unreasonably salty or was I actually BMing him?
It's not toxic but, as with everything, it depends on the context of the situation and how the Killer perceives it.
Clicking the flashlight is a known taunting gesture.
Teabagging, obviously a taunt.
Just a regular, normal flashlight blind? Nah. But again, it's about perception - if this Killer had been chasing you a while, their rage meter is probably close to popping, so a blind in that situation (once, or multiple times, even if just regular usage) might be seen as toxic.
Ultimately though, it doesn't matter how people perceive things in this game. I've only been playing a month and gotten plenty of hate mail already from people thinking they knew what I was or wasn't doing, but really had no clue. Play how you want to play - all play styles and strategies and item usage is valid. If people get upset, that's on them.

Thank you also I’ll try to play both sides thanks for the suggestion
As @JHondo suggests, play both sides. It'll make you better overall. If you've not played Survivor any, then as a Killer, you won't have much (or any) experience and knowledge of Survivor perks or play strategies, which, if you did, you can exploit and use against them to be a better Killer. The same goes for playing as Survivor to play against a variety of Killers (maybe even your preferred one) and learn how they play, and how you (as a Survivor) need to play against them, which exposes various weaknesses and strengths that you'll carry with you when you switch back to Killer. It's definitely beneficial.

I just got the game a week ago, and the learning curve for killer is no joke, especially when I'm rank 20 being matched with rank 14, 8 or even rank 2 survivors.... it's a nonstop stompfest
It can be tough. I've been playing just over a month myself and felt pretty overwhelmed with the choices in survivors, killers, the perks, add-ons and offerings... It's a lot to be presented with and have absolutely no idea about.
What killer did you start with? Not all of them are the same at low level when you're lacking perks and add-ons, so you may have chosen one that's just hard by default at low level.
I tried Hag first, immediately hated it. Then I went to Wraith and did a little better but hated the delay he has going from invisible to visible. Then I went to Nurse and started dominating pretty quickly. People here say Nurse is the hardest Killer to master, but she's also the A+ tier Killer because her Power, once you get the hang of it, essentially nullifies Survivor's biggest defense/escape strategy - looping, doors, windows, pallets, etc - she can just teleport passed it all. It does take a few games to get used to but imo, not nearly as difficult as people here make it sound. I leveled her up quite quickly, got all purple perks of the perks I care to use, and actually got bored because winning was too easy. I then moved on to other Killers.
Give Nurse a shot if you haven't already! She's strong from the start without any perks but obviously only gets better the more you unlock for her. Freddy (The Nightmare) is also a great starting Killer that doesn't really need any help and is super forgiving - easier to play than Nurse and almost just as effective.

Yeah, like @Rybe says, I find it the opposite where I live. Anytime after 5 or 6 is usually bad for me and can go from a few minute waits to what feels like 15-20 minutes.
Also this sounds like a good excuse to have a "shaky mummy red wine time" as Stewie Griffin puts it 🤣 honestly, this game makes me want to drink just playing sometimes haha.
I know everyone makes this claim at some point but I wouldn't say my ability suffers all that much. I still hit my skill checks, I still make perfectly timed/distanced lunges and slash people's feet as they vault through windows. Just last night I got 3 kills with Ghost Face, only my 2nd game with him and no perks, add-ons, etc. A drink or two between games on the survivor side makes the wait a little more bearable at least haha (lol @ "shaky mummy red wine time," love that show)

lol, I actually didn't start to get hate until I started to play killer more and more. Apparently, it is illegal to kill survivors any way you can in this game.
What I've determined in my short time here is, if your perk loadout and general play strategy (as Killer) beats mine (as Survivor), then it's illegal and you should change how you play, lol. I (as survivor) should be able to run whatever my preferred perks are, and play the way I want to play, and always escape. I shouldn't HAVE to run a specific perk to counter a playstyle I don't like.
That's the entitled mindset I have seen lol.

I know I can't really do anything, but I wanted to know what people think of this. The toxicity in this game is pretty ridiculous.
I've only been playing just over a month now and received plenty of hate-mail myself - one message was warranted, actually (I facecamped in a few early games because my inexperience made me feel like that was my only option at the time to get a kill), but most of it is just plain mean for no good reason. Not exactly the nicest welcome to the game but, it is what it is lol.
-
@Yords said:
We all can agree that this game is toxic, very toxic on both sides. For most people, this might not even affect you other than just upset you for a bit. Seriously, I know that we have all gotten upset over this game, especially this game because of the balance issues, but I am not going to go over that right now.
Toxicity doesn't do much to most players of this game, at most it just enrages them for a bit. However, there are people who play this game who are depressed, or very stressed and just want to play a game to relax and have fun. But then they get messages in the endgame chat such as "Go commit die" or "trash killer can only win by killing survivors as killer". I won't get too into it here but the messages get MUCH more 'explicit' if you know what I mean.
I guarantee you that everyone experiences toxicity in this game almost on a daily basis. I personally have received some messages that I am almost glad I got from sore losers. I say this because at least they didn't say these things to someone who really doesn't need this in their life right now.
The worst message I got was from someone who was probably having a bad day already. I was told to commit suicide, eat feces and die, and send the video to him after slicing my wrists; he literally sent me his snapchat... yeah so this is the kind of behavior I am talking about (I myself am fine btw, I laughed about this). Now, imagine some person who is depressed or just really stressed reading that. Ok, sure that might not push them over the edge, but it might.
Now why? Why the hell are you telling someone to off themselves over a game??? I am going to be honest with you, I rage when playing this game. But I have never told someone to go kill themselves. In fact, I still say "gg, gl on next" every game until the insults start rolling out.
I really hope that my reports for harassment actually does something. But the sad part is that it probably doesn't, even though I have evidence of it. This is why an update to the reporting system needs an update. You know, among tons of other things BHVR ignores.
There is another person on the other side of the screen btw. They are humans, people tend to forget that sometimes.
Differing of age, maturity, emotional intelligence, reasons for playing, etc...all play a role in how "toxic" someone will be. Anyone who is prone to taking things too seriously in life is likely going to have a hard time truly enjoying anything in that life. Sadly, most everyone goes through these stages of caring too much about a given thing before eventually realizing it's a huge waste of energy to get so tilted over a game and doesn't provide any benefit to them. The quicker one can learn to enjoy the little successes of the game vs letting the little annoyances totally ruin your night, the better off you'll be in-game and in life. This doesn't mean letting all negative stuff just float over you without response, it just means learning when it's appropriate (and beneficial) to respond, and when it's not appropriate or beneficial.

When I play survivor and I'm against nurse, I have the time of my life. You can abuse many things vs a nurse like juking (doubling back, turning unexpectedly, looping normally and doubling back last second so she misses her blink, breaking los)
But if she's a good nurse, you're pretty much dead anyways. You need to notice her blink pattern and try to predict it (is she trying to predict where you'll go, or she's just blinking where she last saw you? ECT.)
Key statement, "but if she's a good Nurse..." haha. Yeah basically, a good Nurse won't be fooled or deterred by any typical survivor strategies - she'll get the blink, and the hit, without much effort. I played a Nurse recently that ended the game with 4 kills in what couldn't have been more than 4 minutes. It was an incredible feat on her end, and obviously embarrassing for me lol. Wish I'd recorded it.

I want something new in chases other than holding W, do you guys have any ideas on a new chase mechanic?
Note: I don't want ideas for a Killer power, I am talking about a mechanic like Breakable Walls but a mechanic that would be used in chases.
Give the survivors weapons (but then this'd just be a lesser version of Left 4 Dead). That's one of the few things I can think of to legitimately change the core gameplay mechanics of this game. Everything else is just sort of throwing a wrench into the current chase looping strats, but not really altering it.

We are not getting events anymore. All we have celebrations with nothing. I though at least we would have given 1000 iridescent shards per week, but apparently even that is too much for you to spare. With this rate we will have 300k bloodpoints and 2500 shards as login bonuses. Kind of disappointing. I'd rather have 1.5x event for this holiday season at least I would be more inclined to play during these buggiest times, and definitely would earn more bloodpoints.
I'm sure we'll get more bonuses before the month is over. As it stands, we've gotten 10k/day (mostly) + the 300k "we're sorry for the bugs" bonus, so if they planned for 10k/day the whole month they instantly doubled the BP with that big bonus. Something is better than nothing imo. They could do more, for sure. As a new player, I think they should be doing more to lessen the BP grind via double BP weekends or something like that (and upping the payout per game overall) - I'd love to tinker around with more characters and lessening that grind would help. Otherwise, Cyberpunk may soon be vying for all my available game time... :(

100% agree. Thankfully I'm one of those few types that legit plays for fun, so, I have no need to complain about anything that happens in a given match. People can play how they want, and whatever outcome happens, happens. I am perfectly content with the little successes vs a need to "win."

Me too. I'm rank 14 Killer getting matched against groups of rank 5 or less. It's not a total stompfest, I usually manage a kill or 2 and lots of bleeding but I definitely have to sit up and lean forward for those games haha

Solution: Play killer.
Legit, that's the entire reason survivors queues are slow. People want an easy game. Your average survivor, even the ones who act like killer is easy, haven't got the scrote to play killer.
I do play Killer most of the time actually, it's just sometimes I like to mix it up and take a break from hunting. Since the queue takes so long for me, I usually don't play more than 3 survivor games before I get tired of the accumulated waste of time spent searching for games.

Holy shite, you must be getting some arsehole ques, most of mine only take about 5 minutes (for reference, I'm rank 3 playing between 10pm/2am on AU servers). I'd have to almost literally chug a bottle to finish it in that time, let alone 2
I'm usually online anywhere between 9pm-11:30pm PST and the Survivor queue is never shorter than 5 minutes. On average I'd say it lands right at around 7-8 minutes to get a game, so, this time was highly unusual. Killer games never take more than 10-15 seconds of queueing, BUT, it's almost always mismatched as far as ranks go... I'm only rank 14 I think and I consistently get groups of rank 2s, 4s, and 5s.

He's more of a character that gives more objectives to survivor so that synergizes well with a lot of perks for some interesting builds. His power at basic is kind of meh when Survivors knows how to play around with it and is aware that you can just smash space on actions so despite getting shocked their survivor still vaults away. You need add ons to lengthen your shock theraphy otherwise shack is still strong as ever.
100% agree there. I played a pretty good group (a definite mis-match as far as ranks go) the other night and quickly learned I could not beat them on shack. They'd run across the map for it it seemed and I had to pull off every time. Only killed 1. Would have had two but they lined up like penguins to bodyblock me from the injured survivor on the way to the gate. lol, was hilarious to watch this literally fall right into line in front of me.

Shouldn't valid tactics be fun for both ends of the game?
In a "vs" game with winners and losers? The only way it's possible is if both sides don't care about "winning," and are content with achieving smaller successes like repairing some gens, winning a chase or two, pulling your buddy off the hook, etc for Survivors and making everyone bleed a bit with maybe a kill or two on the Killer side.

Have you considered messing with Oppression? Good chance when you kick a gen other survivors working on gens get a T2 Overcharge skillcheck.
I find the Oppression skillcheck is harder to prepare for, because it's unlikely you'll know when the killer is kicking a gen whereas with Overcharge once you experience it once it's easier to be ready for in the future.
Hmmm... Oppression vs Overcharge:
Hard to choose!
Edit:
Or, Oppression AND Overcharge?? *evil laugh* 😝

I'm a Doctor main and he's efficient at one of the hardest aspects of DBD: finding survivors and making their life difficult even when not in a chase
I run following set for Doctor, but he is pretty adaptable (impossible skill check, gen hostage, even injured sets)
Whispers (no static blast wasted)
Distressing (huge TR to hit everything with Static Blast) and difficult skill checks, along wit 100% BP in deviousness
Overcharge (more failed skill checks on top of madness and Distressing)
Thrilling Tremors (static blast and then pick up survivor to lock out gens)
Impossible skill checks build can be Whispers, Distressing, Overcharge, Lullaby.
Toxic Gen Hostage can be Ruin, Thrilling Tremors, Overcharge, Whispers/Distressing.
He's a great killer imo and is fun. My 2 y/o saw him play and he said , "more laughing please!"
Thank you for the tips on loadouts!
I think the laughing in itself is a bit of a passive perk because if you're playing against people who take this game too seriously and let their emotions drive them, having a Killer that is constantly laughing will definitely trigger some folks and increase the likelihood that they make mistakes. It's basically a taunt and people can start to fume over that hehe.

Doctor is a solid B but he requires a lot of experience and knowledge on how both sides play. You have to predict the survivors prediction when you are going back and forth on a pallet and he shuts down shack very easily. Couple his skill check ability with overcharge and lullaby and gens won't get done.
Aye. I've played against a Doctor only 1 or 2 times I think and when the Madness starts to kick in, those skill checks that appear in random parts of the screen and go forwards AND backwards really screwed me up! I was laughing the whole time as it was totally unexpected, but yeah, what a pain to deal with! Definitely can put a stop to the gens...

I'm a nurse main, she only has a low kill rate because she is hard to play. If you play her a lot, like i do, you have to TRY to not 4k. I literally can't remember the last time i didn't 4k as nurse.
Only been playing a little over a month now and Nurse was my first Killer I started with. She was a slight struggle to get used to for a few games but it didn't take nearly as long to become proficient with her as many here claim. I had to move on to another Killer pretty quickly because the games felt far too easy to win, even with a completely non-meta perk loadout.
-
What?
-
Re: the question about reducing the grind: "Don't expect anything in the next 6-9 months."
Really? It takes 6-9+ months to figure out a solution? Just reduce the cost of everything, or increase the BP payout, or both. Implement double BP weekends... Long term, they probably should remove a lot of lesser used perks, add-ons and offerings but a quick fix to the grind is just to reduce the cost and/or reward more BP per game.

Ok, please set aside gripes. I know the game is not in the best spot, and we just got a new killer.
But connecting the dots between killers and movies, there's 2 styles they haven't really gotten to that come to mind.
Killer robots. You know, chopping mall, Hardware, etc.
And space aliens. Neither the predator/aliens type of hunter, or the probing grays with abduction beams.
Just a random thought.
Beyond just different aesthetic styles, we really need Killers that drastically alter the gameplay strategies Survivors must use to defend against them. My Killer concept, The Angel (a quantum species from Doctor Who, known as the Weeping Angels) attempts to address this with some unique powers and perks.

I play solo survivor and I just don't understand. Where does it state you are guaranteed more than one hook? I was under the impression that you only get 1 and your few attempts to escape it. Anything more than this is due to other survivors playing smart or making a trade in your benefit. If you die on 1st hook, I get that it bruises the ego, but that shows your evasion and stealth skills need more work. The title of "Killer" should explain enough not to expect any handouts and if your not swf don't think a stranger will risk it outside of the BP granted. Everybody gets 1, anything more are chances given and not to be expected.
Killers keep up the killing without mercy.
Seems you're a rare breed of survivor. The seemingly larger majority have all sorts of rules the Killers should abide by in order to foster whatever they deem to be a "fair" game.
"Must suck to have to camp to get kills" people say to me on occasion, when really I left to go hunt and one of their buddies ran through my traps screaming their head off, so of course I turned around to go deal with it. I'm just supposed to let them go? Allow the save when I know they're lingering in the area? My job is to kill, and theirs is to avoid detection, win the chases, and escape. They failed. Do better next time, sorry, not sorry!

I think this is a great starting point for a Killer that introduces some different play styles for both the Killer themselves and also the Survivors - having a Killer than can climb walls, ceilings, even trees or other structures changes things up as far as stalking, setting traps and chasing goes. All Killers currently, all of them, are essentially the same as far as general play strategies go, so we need Killers like this to shake things up.
-
I think part of the problem is this game is over 4 years old now, the player base is dwindling, and as such, this is likely not the money maker it once was for them. In the face of new console and game releases, things will only get worse. So, as any business will begin to do with a product that's not as popular anymore, the teams of people that were once working on it are reduced to a skeleton crew for basic maintenance and reasonable, cost-effective and non-complex updates. Supposedly 600+ people work at BHVR - given the quality and speed of updates and fixes, do you really think all 600 are assigned to DBD? There's no way. I think there are 50 or less assigned to DBD at this point, with the remainder hopefully working on something else new and amazing, maybe even a sequel.
-

-
It needs a sequel, built entirely new from the ground up. Every update built upon the current game seems to introduce more and more issues, but, perhaps BHVR are doing just that. Supposedly 600+ employees work there and there is no way they are all working on this game because it should not be possible to release such broken updates with that many people. More likely 50 or less people currently run this game.

It’s a stupid question, because you don’t.
1. How can you release a completely broken chapter just like that? Then say you’re fully aware you’re releasing it in a broken state and maybe you’ll fix it later ? It’s baffling.
2. How have you kept this ranking system for this long, when it doesn’t work and it continuously places people with vastly different skill playing together ? it’s also ridiculously easy to rank up. Way too easy
3. How can you release map “reworks” that are completely empty full of dead zones, new players will hardly get used to what a pallet is. There is none.
4. How do you keep breaking 10 things when releasing 1? How does a new DLC break Legion? Are you even aware of what you’re doing?
5. How do you keep releasing a new killer every month and a half when there has been issues for YEARS that remain unfixed and THEN you release a broken and buggy killer?
We want a “FIX YOUR GAME” DLC next. Stop releasing new content without addressing all that’s broken and unfinished. Fix the audio, fix the maps, fix the crashes, fix your killers, fix the balance issues. Fix your god damn game.
Obviously, this game is being maintained by a bare minimum skeleton crew at BHVR. 600+ employees supposedly work there and probably only 50 or less are assigned to this game I'd say.
With that said, QA will obviously suffer, as will speed of updates/fixes.
-
So, what you're saying is, no one should be upset about teabagging, rather, they should be impressed with such rapid-squat ability? I'd say that's a better way to look at things vs raging about it 😄
-
Holy cow if this is truly how this game is really built...? Unreal...(no pun intended). No wonder there are so many issues.

Still a top tier Killer, easily. I've only been playing a month, but I started with her as my first, got all the purple perks I like using with her (none of which are what people here consider to be the "meta" perks) and quickly became bored at how easy it was to win. I've moved on to other Killers now and only touch her if a challenge pops up for her.
I recently played a game against a Nurse that completely destroyed my team in what has to be world record time - couldn't have been more than 3-4 minutes before everyone was dead lol. So embarrassing...

Explain the delayed stun then since he clearly had better connection. Bad connection means everything is delayed.
Well, again, going with the theory that the Killer has a better connection than you, nothing the Killer does is going to appear exactly accurate on your end - delayed hits, stuns, etc. Additionally, connection stability and speed isn't constant, it fluctuates for a variety of reasons. So there can be cases where the Killer is favored for a hit, but then their connection speed and/or ping takes a hit for whatever reason, and now you're favored and dodging everything.

Clearly hit me though right? Switch back to p2p or show the killers ping so I can dodge these bad internet killers. VPN still works.
If we assume the hit validation system is working as it should be, then the only thing BHVR could determine from this clip is that the Killer was the one with the stronger connection and so was given priority - on the Killer's screen, you were closer to them.

"way behind" is a bit of an overstatement I think. He's easily one of the best Killers at low level by nature of his passive power and traps and gets even better once you have the higher perks. It took some leveling to get Nurse going with some consistent 3k and 4k matches, but when I started Freddy he was doing just as well fresh out of the gate without anything good. Very forgiving Killer imo.

I mean, I have no idea how many of them actually work on the game, but yes - BHVR as a company has over 600 employees. A very small margin is probably the actual dev team for DbD, but a company this big should be able to put out better content.
For comparison, Santa Monica Studios - the team that made the most recent God Of War only has 300. And that is a AAA game.
Could be a bit of an apples to oranges comparison there though. I don't know how long GoW was in development for vs DBD, plus it's a single player game vs multiplayer, etc...they're just different games. I don't know what constitutes being called a AAA game, but look at Fall Guys. Simple as fu** and made by 4 or 5 people? No it's certainly not AAA visuals or game mechanics but their bottom line certainly is AAA lol.
I imagine the large majority of BHVR employees are tasked with working on unannounced games though and only a small team is actually maintaining DBD.
-
Maybe among those 600+ employees, the large majority of them are working on another game? I can't imagine that merely maintaining this game - given its age, and given the relatively small and non-complex DLC updates - requires all 600+. You need some concept people, some artists, some code monkeys, some network people, some QA, a handful of managers...so, 50-100 people? Maybe? Obviously I have no idea how this game was built so, perhaps it's just a total shitshow to maintain and make changes with.
-
I've only been playing a month and personally, I don't think the grind is bad at all - I've only been playing fairly casually and already got 2 killers and 1 survivor at lvl 40 or near it. I still don't have what would be considered the "meta" perk loadout on any of them yet, so there is that minor frustration but I enjoy the perks I have.
That said, though I don't personally mind the current grind, given the age of this game and dwindling player base, the grind should probably be quicker (2-3x quicker as a starting point) to allow newer players more freedom to explore different characters and not be stuck with crappy loadouts for as long. They could do this by removing tiers but I kind of like working "towards" better rewards, and having tiers fits that bill. So, instead of removing tiers, maybe just increase the BP awarded, and, additionally, implement small events like double-BP weekends (rotate between killers and survivors), and double-BP daily bonuses (rotate between all characters, a specific killer and survivor each day), or SOMETHING like that...

Damn, I had something similar last night. I'm rank 14 killer and went up against a 2, 4, 5 and 7. Killed the 7 and made everyone else bleed a decent amount but it was tough!

This is amazing, but I think a blinking mechanic should be added as one of the Angels default perk, further preventing cheesing the game by staring at the angel. That way the angel has a chance to work up to the angel husks perk, and not just given it right away! It would make the angel last longer and people feel more accomplished!
Hmm, that's an interesting idea. I thought about a Blink but didn't want to copy a core ability of another killer (Nurse), so that's actually why I went with giving her a movement speed of 10 m/s. As a default movement speed, that's more than 2x faster than any other Killer, and probably covers as much distance or more than a Nurse double blink, but with a lot less effort. Obviously, it's hindered by the fact that if any Survivor spots you, you're frozen solid. So, to get hits really depends on being able to swoop in on someone before they can look at you. This is why I then came up with the clones idea and Blind Obsession perk, as it punishes the Survivors a bit and gives the Angel a chance to re-position and get the jump on them.
I'd like to flesh out a possible Blink option though, something different than Nurse at least, so, after a few minutes of consideration, here's what I think could be doable, either as a Perk or a Passive ability:
- Quantum Shift: The first time any Survivor looks at The Angel, The Angel will immediately be presented with a very difficult skill check. If The Angel succeeds, they will automatically teleport to within 5m of the Survivor. 45s cooldown. (Note: Due to the Stone Sight passive ability and how quickly this teleport will occur, The Angel will likely have the full 1.5s leftover aura reveal on that Survivor)

My only recommendations would be to make the perks accessible for more killers. Since they're specific to the Angel they wouldn't really make sense as teachable perks
Aye, you are right there, I definitely wasn't thinking of making them accessible for more killers. I'm still pretty new to this game actually so, I'm wondering, are all Killer perks teachable? If so, I'd definitely have to generalize these ones a bit hehe.

i think survivors must found clocks without aura because they can wake up brake gen or wake up from each other.
I was maining Freddy for a bit and agree he doesn't need any more help. His passive game of putting people to sleep makes him (I think) the only killer that can be totally AFK and still be disruptive to all Survivors. I mean, that's pretty powerful.

How does no one want to play Killer? I always find extremely fast queues as survivor and the longest I'll ever have to wait is a minute. There are some killers (Clown, Twins) that need buffs but killer as a whole doesn't need a "huge" buff. There is no evidence that no one wants to play killer, it just sounds like you want an excuse to get a massive buff for no reason.
Last night I played a few survivor games (Xbox, crossplay on), all of them took about 6-7 minutes or so to find, never less than 5. That's not terrible, but, not good. Eventually I get tired of the accumulating waste of time waiting for games and I switch to killer to cap off my night but I wanted one last Survivor game before switching and I waited - I am not kidding - 15 minutes for a game.
"There is no evidence?" Okay, I didn't exactly record it, but it exists, and it is a problem. I'd expect this with crossplay turned off but, even when turned on? It's true evidence of just how small the playerbase has become (which, given the game's age is understandable).
On Killer, I've never waited longer than about 15 seconds.
