Do you stand by and watch them? What if there’s one survivor on hook, two going in for the save and one seeming watching you from a (short distance) coordinating the save, like they’re the Leader?
I'll hook the person, then look for someone else, generally at the door I think they're opening (I also play with BBQ a lot so sometimes I'll find someone isolated far from gates or trying an early rescue and get value from them). If I find someone on my way who's going for the unhook, I'll chase them. But I'm not going to camp or tryhard to secure a kill, it's gonna be chill.
In the situation you mentionned, if they're (I assume all healthy) coming up to me as I literally just hooked the guy, I don't have a precise strategy. I just hit whoever is in the vicinity for points but won't tunnel if they manage to unhook near me. If I get another survivor on hook for it, then great, if not, then eh. It wasn't my game ! I'll take note of what they did well for future reference.
That's actually how I met one of my best friends, getting steamrolled by his team and him offering advice and private games to practice =)
-
I usually try and track down Ruin even now that it's been butchered, because it's still very annoying once you get into the thick of things. Unless the team is working on one gen at a time, which is not optimal, a couple gens always regress a lot once you get to the routine of one surv on hook, one in chase, one going for unhook and only one on gens.
Devour is the big one, but you usually don't see it immediately.
My big one is Blood Favor. Removing pallets as a looping option is a guaranteed quick down, so I'll definitely drop my gen to look for it as soon as I know it's in play.
-
About 15K ! I used to buy some perks at the shrine with them, and then a couple of characters. Now they'll serve to buy the survivors of the killers I bought with them.
-
Most people on this game are random players like you and me who are not looking to ruin anyone's day. The majority might be silent, but it can be coaxed to be positive when it's shown positive attitude first !
I usually compliment my opponents, or joke around with them, and very rarely see toxicity during or after the game. =D
I've met some close friends through DbD. There are many wonderful people there =)
-
It won't change anything in my killer games, but that's about all I know.
I really don't get camped often as survivor either, and it should not affect killers just coming back to secure the hook stage or the kill since they didn't stay around long enough. (Which I don't consider camping btw since it implies the killer genuinely left do other things and is just coming back to punish gens-before-friends, which ultimately the survivors decided to make possible)
So from my experience it shouldn't change much at all.
-
As much as I've loved Until Dawn when I was younger, I don't want a Wendigo to be brought to the game. Natives have already stated many times they're uncomfortable with their culture being used for cheap thrills in horror content. Wendigos have been appropriated in western media much too often already.
That being said, I'd love to see a good old Werewolf !! Would scratch that "feral humanoid beast" itch very well =D
-
Were always rarely seen : Twins, Hag, Blight, Deathslinger, Billy
Rarely encountered these past few months specifically : Clown, Nurse, Pig, Legion, Trickster, Wraith
Still see regularly : Wesker, Nemesis, Huntress, Cenobite, Executioner, Myers...
-
I usually don't. If the survivors are in a position to have a big win at that point it's either that they played really well or that I made lots of mistakes. In both cases, they deserve the win in my opinion, and I'd rather meme around and have a fun chat than defend the last hook for a few more points.
-
The problem is that survivors have so little gameplay for themselves, with gens being their only objective that isn't a straight up loss of time, that gen speed is tied to many perks.
So to nerf gen speed, either :
- You nerf the perks themselves, and now 30% (random estimated proportion) of the survivor perks that weren't useless before become useless.
- You add time to the gens like in 6.1., but now the game gets even more beginner-unfriendly and the gen speed perks become necessary
- You add a secondary survivor objective that actually accounts to something, and make some of the gen speed perks affect this secondary objective (but that's a LOT of work of implementing, balancing and coding)
Because as of right now, gen speed is a problem.
But so are chases, because if you produce new chase perks, killers are chased too long because map balance something something and gens get done.
And so are aura perks, because either there's already better ones or killers are sad because they lose the element of surprise and people pre-run and it's unfair.
And so are heal perks, because survivors heal too quick and killers lose pressure too easily.
And so are stealth perks, because stealth shouldn't be encouraged and if killers feel like they'll take too long to find new survivors to chase they'll feel entitled to tunnel.
And so are perks that do no affect gens, chases, aura, heal or stealth, because then they don't affect the objectives and are just a loss of time for the team.
So yeah... No easy way with this situation.

I believe it's using double calm addons with monitor and abuse to reduce your terror radius by 22 meters when your blast is off cooldown giving you a very small TR and sneak up on people.

Its really fun with thrill of the hunt. Face the darkness. And monitor. In chase fire off the shock to make a scream. Lowering your tr. Face the darkness makes them scream every 20 seconds if you have a low tr lol. Screamo doctor.
Will definitely try that out !

You honestly think protecting a gen from basic kicks and base regression for 40s would be worth running, let alone as an iridescent add on? An add on that has to be timed, rely on the opponent to actually kick the gen after its been used, doesn't protect against the most common forms of regressions (perks) and saves AT MOST 12ish seconds of gen time?
You think people would bring that?
I didn't give the most thoughts about it, I'll admit, but I stand by something similar, aka preventing regression rather than boosting progression.
It shouldn't be something uncounterable in my opinion, hence why I initially spared perks from it. Maybe they should be included.
That being said, I never bring it as is anyway, so it's a moot point for me. It could be removed and I wouldn't bat an eye.

Ninja Doc is fun too although I've never had the pleasure of playing against one :'(
I'm afraid I'm not familiar with what Ninja Doc is, but I'm very interested !
-
I think at an average play level the game is balanced well enough as of now, except for some outreageous maps in one side or the other.
I think exhaustion perks are fine, but that toolboxes might be nerfed. I wouldn't mind it, it would make the game more balanced at higher mmr but not affect that much casual players.
-
I'd prefer BNP to be something like "Once consumed, for the next 40s, the gen can not regress from basic kicks and cannot have ongoing regression" (PR/Jolt/Pop would still work, just not keep the gen regressing after activation), to make it a 3gen breaker instead of bonus progression.
-
Doctor is a favorite of mine to go against purely for his addon kit.
I LIVE for double iri Doctors.
-
I literally use BBQ + Lethal every game on Legion. It's still a great perk !

If you want to give it a go in matches, my build to utilize this fact has been Hysteria with Hexes Plaything, Retribution, and Pentimento.
Pentimento's more flex perk, there because it's slowdown that best complements both Plaything and Retribution. Everything else is there to inflict Oblivious one way or another. I'd been using Discipline as one of my add-ons for reasons already explained, they're perfectly flexible too.
I'll be sure to try it out ! I think for once I have all those perks unlocked haha. Lucky !
-
Interesting !!
Doc is a favorite of mine to go against, it's a really neat detail you've just shown me. =)

This is what I’ve been saying all along. I play on NA servers yet I don’t see it either, and I’m definitely low to mid MMR. It’s why I think people are exaggerating on this DC/hook giving up crisis. I rarely SWF, and I just don’t see survivors giving up like that in solo queue. Even if we suck, the survivors still appear to be trying to win/play well (as well as we can given our skill level).
Maybe it's an mmr thing and some people on each end of the bell curve cherry-pick their games by DC'ing or killing themselves on hook ?
But yeah I definitely don't see many DCs. I used to a lot after 6.1. but these past few months were very peaceful in that regard.
-
As a very average survivor mmr-wise, i'm not seeing many early DCs or people letting go on hook. I'm playing western EU, generally evenings. It's entirely possible that in another region or timeframe people are playing differently.
That being said, it's always interesting seeing someone who mains one side try out the other ! I personally have a good time on both, though I do play more survivor (it's just more practical as it allows me to both play and chat with friends, two birds one stone).
-
Sweats don't like to go against sweats. There would need to be massive incentives like free cosmetics or iri shards to make them inclined to a taste of their own medicine.
Most likely they'd just keep playing casual queue.

Plus, it takes a lot of time learning proper blinking. So far I've been able to win only with the add-on that shows me where I'll "land".
This is why I appreciate when someone really knows how to use her.
True !
And I think maybe because of that, but most Nurses I see (at a very average mmr) are quite kind towards lesser experienced players. They know how it's like to be learning and failing a lot. When I was starting to play survivor, Nurses were some of the kindest players I'd run into, whether it was giving another chance to me or my friends when she was dominating or just being nice in endgame chat.
I always offer a kill to nurses who've had a tough game and didn't manage to kill anyone otherwise, to pay it forward.
-
I mean... Nurse is mechanically pleasing. It's fun blinking around and guessing where people went. Unfortunately she makes me motion sick, but I understand the appeal.
-
I don't particularly like map offerings, but unfortunately your first paragraph says it all.
It's abusing the system to get an unfair advantage when survivors use it, but when it's killers it's a-ok becuase "it doesn't guarantee a 4K" ? Okay....
-
I'm happy with those charms, but genuine question though :
Why do the codes expire June 3 ? Why not let them throughout the month if it's, well, Pride Month ?
Is there only a certain number of codes that can be available at any time without breaking anything ?

Also, when was the last time there was any positivity towards a Cenobite player?
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/AANYVZTKF2H0/endgamechat.png
I love Cenobite players !
I've literally never seen a toxic Pinhead. They're very rarely friendly but they're never mean in my experience. Sure, they can be tough to go against, but when I see the chains at the beginning of the game I know I'm not gonna get camped or tunneled or BM'd because the Cenobites I encounter usually play very fair.
-
That agender flag is gonna go straight on my character/hooks !! I'm really happy it's there, agen is often forgotten =)
Now just to get my hands on an aro flag and I'll be happy as can be !
-
I think she was the first to have been rude, and at this point a little pettiness was deserved.
I always go in a trial expecting to lose my item. If she doesn't want to lose her anniversary items, then she shouldn't take them into games.
-
Dead Hard now activates when you are being unhooked and not when you unhook someone.
It's meant to be a deterrent to tunneling, when otherwise getting it when unhooking someone else made the unhooked a better target for the killer.
-
I think casual players like me would love this, but that unfortunately the people we'd be trying to separate from would not and would make a ruckus out of it or even quit the game once they get a taste of their own medicine.
Plus I can imagine scenarios where someone who's chill but just talented gets paired with the worst of the other side.
The thought is pleasant, regardless.
-
I don't have any snarky examples because I just move on if the chat is salty.
So it's gotta be : This Scratched Mirror Myers on Léry who obliterated us, with me as yellow and him as orange.
(It's the "get well soon" that gets me XD)
And this time I found myself on the same team as a killer who'd 4K'd my lobby a few days before, with me in red and them in white
(Recognised their name because it was a funny one and we had already had a cute chat at the time !)
It's happened a few times that I get matched with people I recognize from previous games and it's generally fun to be like "Hey I know you !!" =D
-
Blocking a player doesn't prevent you from being matched with them, it only blocks them from contacting you on your platform.
You can still be matched with them and they can still use endgame chat in those cases.
-
Not a big fan of them, on either role.

I'm happy to report I'm not crazy yet, to give your bots different builds you need to give them each a different "preset" (you can change it over the loadout). Once you give your build to bot 1 it'll copy it on all the other bots, but then you can go edit the other bots to give them preset 2 / 3 / 4 so they all have different builds :)
Ok, thank you lots !! I didn't think about the presets hahaha ! It makes more sense now.

Do we still even lose MMR anymore? Last week with the plus bloodpoints I played Doctor with the farming build, 0-1k ing for like 10-20 matches and my survivors skill doesn't seem to be dropping. I did have one Meg drop shack pallet in first chase, but otherwise most folks focus gens, hold W, predrop etc. I feel like the MM system is just bugged.
As to OP:
Same. I don't know what they've put into the water, but with M1 killers I literally need to tunnel from the first second if I want to 4k. If I don't, I might get one lucky endgame kill.
For the record, I've never partaken in the Eruption/COB/OC meta and just ran passive slowdown, but those seem to have stopped working. Or at the very least my survivors are super efficient and coordinated. I also almost always see multiple Adrenaline's proc, sometimes timed way too suspiciously perfectly to be done by SoloQ randos, but that might just be the salt.
I don't know if MMR still works, but I don't see why it wouldn't at the moment ?
Though I do see a lot of people saying their matches are weird, I don't know if it's genuinely a game problem or them needing to adapt to the changes that came recently.
I haven't played a lot of killer in public lobbies recently, just a couple hours earlier this week on Legion, a killer who's always had a pretty average mmr on my end because they're my "have fun, adopt survivors, have parkour races" unwind kind of killer. I had three comfortable 4Ks in a row when I picked them back up, with a very aura--oriented build with little regression (Lethal, BBQ, I'm All Ears/Lightborn, Surge).
So I don't think there's any shortage of casual survivors.
Maybe you've been unlucky ?
-
Aw, adorable ! Sounds like I have competitors for the title !!
May I offer : bringing Maurice gifts and pets together <3

I know the feeling, I can’t run fun builds anymore because gens fly like kites in a hurricane, but I found a way to make it fun. Pick your favorite killer and just put on everything that sounds like it could be fun. Then try to communicate with a survivor. They can become your friend while you do things like chase through weird areas or if you want to explore and find things like chests or Totems.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3443648#Comment_3443648
I love your name.
Aw, thanks ! <3
-
Do a string of friendly games. Be active enough to not be reported as plain afk-ing, but don't kill anyone.
That should bring you back to an mmr you can have fun at.
Whenever there's a recent nerf to one side or the other (in this case, nerf to regression + HUD I would guess), mmr has to reevaluate where you belong under those new circonstances. It's normal that you would have a time needed to adapt.
If your objective is just to have fun and not to win, you will for sure eventually find a spot in mmr where you can.
I've been playing very relaxed for a while, giving hatch and sometimes having full on friendly games (which I happen to enjoy), and my mmr is staying at a level where games are very manageable for me if I give a little effort, generally as Legion, Hag, Ghostface and sometimes Nemesis.
-
Frank from the Legion is hilarious.
-
Yeah. Unless the killer is console (and even then), the new wiggle mechanic does absolutely nothing. Going left and right to compensate is not rocket science.
Unless killer is trying to hook you on a hill and has some more distance to walk, sabo / taking hits will do nothing.
-
Am I the only one who wouldn't be particularly excited for Jason ?
Like... We got a cool ink uncanny lady, a cool sentient flesh-robot, a straight up multiple limbs demon who teleports. And that's just recent original concepts.
A half-dead guy with a mask just... doesn't seem all that exciting next to that ?
...
Might just be that I'm not really into old classics I guess... ^^'

I either give them new / reworked perks to see what they feel like from the killer side (mostly in PTB bc killer queue is just too long), otherwise I have fun making each of them have a role:
Healer: Empathy, heal perks, BT or exhaustion perk + medkit
Gen guy: Prove Thyself, Deja Vu, some other gen perks or exhaustion perk + toolbox
Looper: Exhaustion perk, WoW, Lightweight, adrenaline + flashlight
The one their teammates hate: Sprint Burst, urban evasion, spine chill, self-care + key
I've been meaning to do something like it, but for some reason when I select a new build on a bot it gives it to every bot. I might be doing something wrong here !
-
At this point Syringe is pretty okay in my opinion.
BNP I could see gone and not bat an eye. I really don't care for it and I think it's a little too strong.
-
Massive fan of Devour Hope !
Killer : Spies From The Shadows (pretty consistent value, kind of a training wheel but it does what it does well), Bamboozle (very satisfying), Nurse's Calling, BBQ, Discordance (can't go wrong with info perks), Monitor & Abuse, new Gearhead is pretty cool, Hex : Blood Favor, Hex : Haunted Ground, Play With Your Food, Lethal Pursuer....
(I play killer with a lot of info perks, so if chase perks or gen regress isn't in the list it's mostly because I don't use them much)
Survivor : Adrenaline (big sacrifice, big payoff if it happens), PT (simple compensation), Aftercare (so. much. info !), Deception, Distortion, Empathy, Overzealous (forces you to do another objective if you want to do gens with it), Repressed Alliance is underrated, Rookie Spirit, Visionary....
Generally info perks are well designed in my opinion. They have a simple purpose and they do it well without it having potential to screw over someone else or be abused.
-
I remember having had a similar glitch a few months back on a couple of games, once on a pallet stun and once grabbing a survivor from a gen. On the pallet stun one, I got DC'd after being frozen a bit, and on the gen grab after about 15s of being frozen it had ended with the survivor being DC'd. Both times it happened had been with Nemesis.
I don't think it's a cheat, I think it's more of an unlucky glitch that might have something to either your connection or theirs !

Or they bring Lightborn, even though no one in my team has a Flashlight.
I plead guilty on this one, sometimes I put on Lightborn when I see a 3-flashies lobby, forget to change my build before queueing again afterwards, and before I can think on what to replace it with I'm suddenly in game with 3 perks and a useless immunity to blinds haha. It can take a few games before I remember to change it back !
(Btw I know how to counter flashlights without the perk, I'm just lazy)
-
I might just be disensitized to it from 6.1 and not notice it anymore, but ever since the midchapter I haven't seen a single instance of hard tunneling on me or my teammates. I saw some beautiful snowballs, but no intentional tunneling that couldn't have been avoided if the survivors hadn't been healing under hook with killer out of chase or something equally unfortunate.
Granted, I haven't played much, but I must have put some 20h since then and usually it takes less than that to encounter such a widespread practice. In fact, most killers I've seen have been quite fair, and some of them were very cute in endgame chat.
Lower mid mmr is truly blessed.
-
None of them are esthetics I'm particularly fond of....
If I had to choose I guess I'd go pyromaniac because fire is cool I suppose.
