Sometimes I tunnel on accident, sometimes on purpose. It’s valid and extremely effective when I need it to be.
-
Some of y’all don’t realize that many of blight’s addons besides compound 33 require significant skill to use successfully. Especially the blight tag, AV, and speed.
-
There was also a period of time where I had a hacker following me into every game and keeping me hostage. I had to play on an alt. That was pretty annoying.
-
Playing killer. I don’t get mad at all no matter what. Nothing really bothers me.
But there’s been a couple games playing solo q where I’ll be in chase the WHOLE MATCH. 5 gen chase, and I end up going down after gates are being powered. Then my teammates, having zero hooks just open it and leave me. It’s not THAT big of a deal, I consider a 3 man out a win… but the fact that I keep the killer for 5 gens only for y’all to instantly leave me to die leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
-
Just off the top of my head. What about eruption has the same effect, but it is deactivated after say.. 25-35% Repair progress is done? That way it rewards FAST downs and survivors can counter it by doing the gen. Idk just a random thought.
-
Bro’s never experienced the old mori… lmao
-
I love landing some of the most BS bits I’ve ever seen through windows using blights m2. 😂
Sometimes I’ll admit to myself “ain’t no way that should have hit.. that’s unfortunate for them..”
-
Yea man it happens! Don’t get discouraged, either take a break and try later or come to the dark side and play some killer!

Nah, you're being ridiculous. This is a massive flaw in a core aspect of the game that shouldn't be overlooked after the games been on the market for 6 years.
It’s literally not. Not once have I ever encountered the situation you are talking about in FOREVER. And I have a LOT of playing time. It’s not a big deal, move on.
-
This whole thread is a ridiculous argument.
Nobody ever brings keys anymore. Once in a blue moon.
Killers hardly camp hatch anymore, I haven’t seen it done it months.

PH is definitely a weirdo when it comes to his power. I typically try to zone survivors to loops with straight paths to pallets and windows. Makes it much easier.

Thanks mate ! Good luck with your starting semester, hope you'll have interesting new courses =D
So far so good, I started my major this semester. Only 3 semesters to go. 😩

Oh you’re in finals? I just started a new semester yesterday! Best of luck to you!! You’ll kill it.

Map offerings are necessary for certain killer builds. Mirror Myers is my all time favourite killer build and I'm getting kinda sick of all the proposed changes and suggestions that want to remove gameplay options and make the game more boring, which includes the new mori system too.
Plus no map is so unbalanced that one side doesn't have a chance. There's only really one map with hook placements so bad that it can potentially force the killer into this situation, which is Midwhich. However I've tried it. I've run a "you can't hook me" build, burned Mary's Letter, another survivor played Petrified Oak, sabo'd hooks, and the killer still managed to get everyone on a hook. It's too big a gamble, it's never a foregone conclusion.
It would be far better to balance maps properly, than to remove the ability to influence the map you end up on.
Agreed. I think maps offerings are perfectly fine, exactly for the reason you said. A GREAT map for the build showcased is midwhich, utilizing the basement of main. (Boil over, flip flop, expo, breakout, no mither, etc). So much fun. 😂
On the flip side, I don’t really care if they bring map. I just bring my cake and grind my BP regardless.
-
Stop blaming the Devs. I don’t think you realize that nothing will stop the cheat makers. They can develop a cheat to work past anything. Not to mention you can buy new accounts for 2-5 bucks.
-
No flip flop? They are doing it wrong.

I mostly see DH. Lithe would be second for me, personally.
SVR builds I see are usually DH/Windows/PT/filler (usually 1 person will bring CoH, at least).
Mostly DH for me as well, but I do see quite a bit of variation some days. I don’t see lithe often. Mostly sprint burst and balanced landing if it isn’t DH. Lots of hyper focus stakeout builds. I see windows and adrenaline every game on half the survivors at least. Usually atleast 1-2 PT.
-
I went through a doctor phase a little while ago. It was all fun and games while my mmr was building and I was facing average teams. Then I faced some good teams and I got my ######### pushed in.
Depending on the loop, I’ll just get them tier 3 madness and then force them to drop the pallet. Don’t even go for the power. On smaller pallets, you can mind game it with your power (shock them as they vault or drop it.
I would suggest watching D3ad’s doctor videos. He’s got some really good ones.
-
idk man, I see dead hard A LOT. But it kind of alternates. I’ll see 1-3 DH’s and the rest sprint burst, and then the next game it’ll be 4 sprint burst / vigil. I definitely see sprint burst at an increased rate.
But DH is definitely used more for sure.
-
Coldwind can definitely be rough for blight, especially if you don’t get good hook and gen spawns through the corn. But I usually bring crow, so I can KINDA make it through ok.. but man it can be rough landing hits in the corn.
-
That means no blight, I’m solid!!

You're still thinking micro as opposed to a macro strategy. If I have one person in chase I have one person occupied. More survivors occupied are better.
I'm suspecting your arguments are coming from me saying Killers don't need to camp or tunnel in regular play. As @StarLost mentioned it's overkill in most situations. I don't need to camp or tunnel and I don't like to camp or tunnel so I don't. You also said most Killers don't need to camp or tunnel; they want to. That's my secondary point. Personally, I don't care if people tunnel and camp; that's BHVR's job to fix and not the players but it's the player's choice and saying they need to in this meta isn't entirely accurate.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3315280#Comment_3315280
Thanks for the input; that was my main question. Maybe I'm just unlucky but every Knight I've run across other than me has done it. It could just be bad luck or a quirk of my server, time I play at, MMR or any combination of those. I was just curious as, for example, with Bubba, I see more friendly Bubbas than I see facecamping Bubbas but what you're experiencing with the Knight is similar to with other Killers so maybe it's just a quirk specific to me I see so many doing it.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3315319#Comment_3315319
Or, alternatively, the Ash was surprised and made a mistake like everyone does. Nobody's perfect but since you didn't watch the rest of the video you can't really comment on anything other than a very specific sequence and you can't really draw a conclusion from such a small sequence.
That's irrelevant in my opinion, however, as I win most of my games as Knight without camping, tunneling or 3 genning from the start with multiple regression perks. The match was literally a completely random sample where I just thought 'hey, I'll record my next match for this question' and did so. As such, it is representative of the type of totally random matches you get since the softcap is where it is.
If you're trying to dismiss it because you like to tunnel and camp (which I don't know if you do or not but when I say it's not needed most dismissals come from people who do tunnel and camp) the secondary point I made wasn't that you shouldn't; it's that you don't need to. I don't care if you tunnel, camp, meme in a snowman, farm, or two hook and let everyone go. It's your game and time; play it how you want. My point specific to the Knight was that you don't have to tunnel and camp or 3 gen from the start to be successful in regular games and I have no problem showing that in sequential matches. As I only experienced tunnelers and campers as opposed to a variety of playstyles like with other Killers I asked if I played very differently from most Knights.

Cool, thanks for the input. I can't get anybody I know irl to play DbD because of survivors bullying and gloating at new Killers (not all survivors of course but enough it was unpleasant enough to deter anyone I know from continuing) so the forum here is the only place for me to get opinions from.
I do agree as well that the Knight is better when he is played macro and that the Artist is much better than the Knight. The playstyle is different enough I can play him for variety but with the Artist, who I generally main, I've easily won against survivors I would describe as really good as opposed to just competent and that I think would have given me a very hard time on Knight. The Artist is definitely the stronger Killer. I would say Knight is maybe B+ but Artist is S tier.
considering that majority of the comments say the team had no idea what they were doing, I do not retract my statement.
-
I didn’t need to watch past the first chase with Ash. That’s a newbie team.
-
Bro, play some killer then come back.

You seem to mistake truths for opinions
Here are some actual truths the community doesn't want to accept
1) there is practically no difference between 4.4 and 4.6 killers in terms of map presence. The difference in speed matters a lot in chases but that's it.
2) 50% slowdown means an action takes twice as long. So many people still believe it only adds 50% to the time of an action.
3) slowdowns stack multiplicative. Penti's 30% slowdown and thana's 20% slowdown results in 44% slowdown, not 50%
“The difference in speed matters in chase and THAT IS IS”
Lmao.. it makes a HUGE difference. Ending chase early ultimately leads to map pressure.

The Blight thing is not the issue here. Play Blight, Nurse whatever you want.
But if for example I see that I can easily end the game within 4 minutes...why would I? Why is everyone so desperate to make it miserable for the other side? If I see survivors are struggling I will chill, I'll let them reset, do couple of gens, hook everyone twice...
It's literally beneficial for both sides in terms of BPs. As a killer you can often dictate how the match goes. You can either be a dbag and waste everyone's time or be a decent human being, have fun while other people don't go away with nothing and have a decent experience as well.
It's really not that hard.
Literally this. I’ve had games that I could have effectively ended it 3-4 minutes in. But then I don’t earn ######### for bloodpoints. I bring a pudding every match, and I’m damn sure gonna get my use out of it.
-
I can’t say I necessarily struggle with that issue. I tend to being indoor or muggy maps like swamp when I play him. Try watching D3ad’s videos on ghostie for some tips.

Some of these posts lately cannot be real.
-
I believe you forgot your words.

The amount of DC’s I get in the first 30 seconds of Lethal pursuer blight is ridiculous. I lethal rush a survivor within 15 seconds of the game started, boom dc. Then that dc causes another dc, and before I know it, I’m searching for hatch a minute 30 in.

😄 if killers dc because of swf they wouldnt get many matches. They should probably play a softer game
There is no if, they WILL DC. That’s why it’s a terrible idea just like any other post asking for SWF to be revealed. It will not work.

I don't agree, if flashlight is only to save then the usage of the flashlight is way too situational, is supposed to be also a tool to confuse the killer and help you in a chase, if a killer can be blinded and still knows where I and and even go around object and walls to get me while blind is just ridiculous and pointless
This happens when killers have put so many hours into the game that they can path themselves through tiles and loops without sight.
Plus, survivors are not hard to hear.
-
I am happy to see more people playing him. Most fun killer to face in my opinion.

Blight keeps me going, with how fun he is.
All my old buddies play DBD too, so it makes for fun SWF play. Even though some of them aren’t so good.

Haha okay.
You know what might be a better idea? Play for a bit, timestamp...say 3 games that you feel are most representative of what we're talking about here and I'll pick through them.
Should be fun either way.
Sure! I will do that tonight and get back to you, don’t want you having to comb through. Lol

Thanks! Just keep in mind the conditions I've outlined:
- Strong SWF, preferably a genrushy HSFP sort of team.
- Strong map.
- Mid tier killer.
- No regression.
That's what I'm curious about, because those are the teams 'sweaty' killers are generally trying to preemptively counter.
For sure! I’ll play some mid killer tonight. I wouldn’t say I’m a “sweaty” killer, but I do win a good bit of my games.
I won’t say every single team is a super genrush SWF, but I see a couple good teams every night, especially on blight (but that doesn’t count I guess xD)
As you said above, there are definitely some games where gens are completely unmanageable and they pop faster than you can patrol, but it does not happen often.

Interesting. Got any VODs?
Very curious to see how you'd handle a strong SWF on...say, the Infinite GOJ seed on a mid tier killer without regression perks. Because I struggle, and I'm fairly experienced.
I do, I messaged you.

I think thats just a part of the case, Devs try to find a way that whatever you use, you should win half of the time (if MMR gives you correct opponents).
There is the difference feeling between one person doing a task with less effort, and one try really hard to complete the same task (win half of the time). The first one feel better than the later.
I play Trapper without slowdown and 60% kill rate is really effortless, Im happy with it, no reason to try hard to increase my MMR and sweat my brain off.
Giving myself an honest average kill rate across all killers, I would say I probably sit around 75 - 85%. With blight, probably 90-95% kill rate given I hit my 100th win in a row tonight.
I wouldn’t say I am a super try hard sweat, atleast outside of my current winstreak. I enjoy to win, and will play to win most games, but I don’t stack regression. I hate kicking gens.

You're probably not in high MMR...
Work everytime.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/360549/state-of-the-game
There are people who are not using Gen rush or slowdown perk. They're in mid MMR.
Its depend on how hard players try to win, they will be put against equal try hard. Its up to people to understand they're not supposed to win 100%. But half.
No, I’m just an experienced killer and don’t need 4 slowdown perks to win.
-
I don’t run any gen kick perks and I perform just fine.
-
I usually get 1 every game.
-
Doesn’t bother me. I just match them with a much sweatier play style than planned, and nobody is getting hatch.
-
Just use the bloodweb. I’ve got 4-5 hundred alc rings on blight, and more than a thousand each of both speeds and adrenaline vile. I used to pop black wards for stuff like that, now they literally don’t come off my build lmao. Use 1 addon, make 120k bp, get 2-3 more of them. You’ll literally never run out.

uhmmmm… if you think being killer is exhausting. Hello, solo queue? Talk about a physiological investment.
Killer is as strong as it ever has been. As others have said, if you struggle with killer it’s a skill issue (not meaning this as a dig, it’s just the truth).
Many people feel this way about killer, and it’s not a skill issue. There are many more things you have control and track as killer. As survivor, even as solo q, you only have to worry about yourself if you so chose. You can still win. You can relax and sit on a gen, and you may never even see the killer.
Lots of killer get performance anxiety when loading in. Atleast until they accept that it doesn’t really matter. Just relax and have some fun. It’s what we play for.
