see i feel like they don't know how to nerf a perk without completely killing it
How do you nerf them without killing them? PR used to do 150% in total now it does 100%. Pop used to be a straight 25% and now it’s 30% of the progress. So if you kick a Gen at half it only removes 20% and if it’s at a 1/4 then it only does 14% including the base kick damage. If you nerf them anymore then people will bring even more slowdown.
-
I don’t use any slowdowns at all and gens fly by. I’m talking my matches are 6-8 minutes in average. Some are sub 5. Cob, eruption, and OC got gutted otherwise you would see some variety. And people will trash me for losing even though I don’t bring any gen regression perks. So why not bring four slowdown perks?

I don't ever expect hatch.
People complain to you - The Killer - that you didn't give them a free escape? That's wild if I'm reading this correctly.
Yes it happens a lot. They say I’m desperate for the 4k and I’m sweaty lol. EGC needs to be deleted tbh. Waaaaay more toxicity than not.

At least YOU can do something about it: Run after them and swing your weapon. Whether you get a hit or not, it's guaranteed that they'll stop the teabags and run out the gate.
For the person being hit on hook, there is NOTHING they can do about it.
I would much rather be hit on hook then watch 4 dorks dance at an open gate like cowards lol. You still have a chance to win the game when being hit on hook. Most survivors only tbag when there is nothing you can do and the game is over.

Terminus does counter it sure you still get the speed boost but that would suggest that you think terminus would only be a valid counter for it if you get neither effects
Being able to cross the entire map and reach an open exit gate is very valuable so yes I would say Terminus is not a full counter. It’s just not viable tbh. It’s better to bring perks to try and stop them from ever reaching end game.

You don’t have to lol. And it’s not like they are going anywhere. It’s a live service game so having something to grind for is good I think.

But isn't that the issue?
We counter boring stuff with boring stuff. The game should encourage survivors to make these big plays that might be risky but overall fun.
Same can be said for killer. It's often risky to go for many chases and not for a kill when possible. This however is mostly considered the fun way to play. Sadly, many people go for the simpler route and just tunnel one player out.
Dbd should encourage fun over efficiency. Optimally, the fun playstyles should become the most efficient playstyles.
Look at flashy safes for example. Is it efficient to go for a risky flashy safe? No. Almost never. The survivor going for one is not on a Gen, therefore delaying Gen progression for the team. It's fun though. That's why people still go for it.
Sadly, also the amount of people actually going for flashlights over toolboxes or med kits with very strong addons has drastically went down from my personal experience.
Conclusion: Dbd should encourage and support fun playstyles over boring ones and discourage boring gameplay.
I personally find slugging fun tho, just like survivors probably find W keying fun. We can’t stop them and they shouldn’t stop us to a degree. 4 minute bleed out is a problem tho.

Renato sure is. But would you hit them on hook and go out of your way to make the game miserable for the player?
Nah lol that’s doing too much. But the amount of hate I get for not giving hatch is absurd. Kinda proves my point at least anecdotally.

They already do for certain killers they actually even have add ons for certain killers.
It should be basekit for every killer. If you that at a gate the gate gets blocked for that survivor only. Then they should be exposed/ hindered by 20%/ and have their aura revealed for 60 seconds.
Boom bagging at gate is gone overnight. And while some killers deserve it you can t bag during the match freely.
-
I never let Ace/ Adam/ Tap/ Haddies go ever. The people who play them generally annoy me and I’ve grown to despise those characters. I won’t slug them though unless I have to. But I’ll never give them hatch. And tbh Renatos are getting annoying too.

Since a lot of people found adrenaline to be such a big issue I want to hear what people have to say about killer endgame or “crutch” perks (noed, nwo, remember me, bloodwarden, terminus). Personally I didn’t mind these perks but now that adren a survivor “crutch” perk is being change I find it stupid especially considering the fact that two of these will counter adren (terminus and noed)
NoEd is the only crutch perk out of that list lol. Terminus doesn’t counter Adren because the 5 second sprint burst you get is still insanely strong and it’s a paid for perk that not everyone has.
I do think Adren is a crutch and I don’t use it anymore as survivor, it is very cheap that a killer can have multiple people injured/ hooked and then everyone is instantly fully healed and able to cross the map in a few seconds. Its absolutely absurd that I be punished for hooking a survivor when survivors hate slugging so much, but if I did slug you with Adren then you wouldn’t be fully healed.
-
I think P100 skins would be dope though. It gives you something to grind. And survivors would know if a killer is P100 when they see them in game instead of at the end of the game. I really like the P3-9 bloody skins too but they are just so common there’s no point to using them really. I bought the HoY Huntress skin and haven’t take it off once in over a year so who knows if a P100 skin could ever change that lol.

Hi guys,
i played a lot less DBD in the past months because i felt really burned out and way too invested. Mostly because of all the changes happening to my two favourite killers. I felt like the game isnt being fun anymore, which is why i distanced myself.
However, during this event, i thought: lets finish the rift and bring little Sadako to p100. So I switched from 90% Elden Ring 10% other stuff to 50% Elden Ring - 20% DBD and 30% other stuff.
When playing, i mostly played with random builds on a variety of different killers. I played :
- Clown
- Pig
- Onryo
- Xenomorph
- Chucky
- Slinger
- Trapper
- Freddy
- Knight
- Spirit
- Nemesis
- Pinhead
- Singularity
- Bubba
Pig and Sadako a lot more than the others of course.
All these games, while containing a ton of different builds, maps, items, killers and playstyles had one thing in common.
Shift-w supported by sprint burst and lithe.
It did not depend on what character I played, survivors held w the moment they had the chance to do it. I totally understand, that some of the killers I mentioned, Xeno, Knight, Nemesis, Slinger, Chuchy and Clown have powers that are very oppressive in chase and therefore promote shift w and pre dropping.
The thing is, this type of behaviour did not only occur when I played these killers. Freddy (pallets), Pig (not even pre dropping), Pinhead, Singularity (i did not have soma family photo), Bubba and Sadako are absolutely loopable killers.
I have the feeling, that the general playstyle of just holding w until the end of the map or a super safe tile, is not only done because of the killers power, but because it takes minimal effort with maximum results. This of course being exaggerated by perks like sprint burst, lithe and overcome.
I really dont want this to come off as : killer player cant win because survivors play smart.
I play this game for chases mostly. Thats why I play Pig and Sadako the most. I enjoy m1 chases despite it being weak.
Shift w makes games a lot more boring for the killer and survivor both. Aggressive usage of this playstyle completely negatates a part of the game.
These are my thoughts. I feel like the game becomes more and more stale in terms of playstyles, perks, offerings, addons and items. I dont want pre 6.1.0 to return.
Can there be anything done to make this playstyle less popular? Do you guys see it similarly or am I just whining?
Leave your thoughts.
Kyto actually said he doesnt play DBD anymore because all survivors just hold W. And he has a DBD channel with 300,000 subs lol.
I love playing DBD but holding W is very boring. I like it when survivors are super confident and go for big plays. Sometimes they beat me and pop a Gen in my face and sometimes I beat them. Mindbreaker could help with the SB off gens problem.
I ran into a p400 lobby where they held W and it was azarovs with huge LOS zones. I just started slugging people out to gain pressure. I always had one person on the ground and I know they were bored out of their tree but hey, if they wanna bore me by W keying because they wanna win so bad. I’ll bore them by slugging to win. They gave up after 30 minutes of back and forth, they got to one gen left but it didn’t matter.

Obviously hitting survivors on hook is demeaning and very off putting and festurating are there any plans to maybe do something about the like hinder the killer or make there recovory longer for hitting spmone already hooked If obviously it's not intended to be a nice thing. I have had 5 back to back games getting hit on hook or the killer just being the most toxic person ever
As soon as they do something about tbagging at exit gates, then we can talk about hitting on hook. I have thousands of hours and bagging at gates is BY FAR more common than hitting on hook.

@hermitkermit said:
It's never really a good idea to have a perk counter to something base-kit or free. Any killer can tunnel at any skill level even without any perks. And tunneling even at an extremely early level often leads to very successful games because survivors don't know how to counter it yet and they don't have the tools to do so. And then you add in the factor that the anti-tunneling perks like OTR or DS is NOT a free base game perk and you have to pay for it with either in game currency or actual money...it's not a good/fair comparison. Especially when you consider that if the anti-tunnel perks were very effective, tunneling wouldn't be as big of an issue as it has been. Unfortunately in their current state those perks are just annoying inconveniences rather than effect detterents as they can be countered with a simple m1.
Terminus isn’t a free perk either yet they always say “just bring terminus” and it doesn’t even fully counter Adren.
-
@Pulsar said:
OTR is useless against a tunneling Killer. They'll just hit you off hook and now you can't use any other endurance perks or items.
UB is fine, I guess. It works once and you usually just getb whacked down immediately.
An Insane amount of perks are useless against someone who hits off hook, Deli, Adren, BT, and so on. The difference is OTR still denies aura reads and grunts of pain. It’s literally dead hard that can’t be missed on an 80 second timer. And how often do you get hit off hook? I would say it happened about 1 in 20 games for me if that.
-
@GentlemanFridge said:
Regarding slugging, the issue is with extended slugging, ie., going for the bleed-outs. Unbreakable only works once, and Exponential is far too unreliable to be a proper counter to it.
As for tunnelling, OtR only works if the killer doesn't see the unhook. And if they're a mobility killer, eating an Endurance hit does virtually nothing.
Aggressive DS's are a non-issue, I think. Since getting it to work requires not doing anything of note.
Terminus only half-counters Adrenaline. They're denied the heal, sure, but they still get massive distance.
UB only works once sure but it can change a whole game. Same with Deli. OTR does a lot against tunneling killers on all kinds It’s extremely underrated and even if you touch a Gen you are still completely silent and immune to all aura reads for 80 seconds. And it works on every killer lol not just mobility killers.
Aggressive DS’s are a non issue but I just don’t want to hear any crying about slugging when they blatantly try to use it on me lol.
And we all could’ve had base kit UB but no one wanted the finisher Mori. They could’ve made it to where if anyone had a pick up perk then it wouldn’t auto Mori. That was the best chance to fix slugging but instead of trying to rework it, everyone just complained until it got removed.

Thanks for that. I have gone back to the hook immediately after an unhook plenty of times, but that's generally because I hadn't even gotten out of the vacinity yet and it would be faster to go after the unhooker than it would be to hunt someone else. Maybe I'm in the wrong, but I don't think I should feel guilty about that when they're not even giving me enough time to leave the area.
I do the same thing and If a survivor runs right by me to unhook I’ll even try to prevent the unhook entirely if I can. There is no reason they can’t wait for me to leave.
-
It’s not so simple, tunneling is in reference to tunnel vision. So focusing on anything to much would be tunneling. If you go on a 5 gen chase and don’t even kill the survivor or even hook them you were technically still tunneling. But the most common thing referred to when the word tunnel is used is the 3 hook tunnel where you immediately go back to hook and go after the unhooked person instead of the healer or someone else. If you look around for 30 seconds and run into the recently unhooked survivor again I wouldn’t call that tunneling because after all they can hear you coming and could leave/ play more safe.
Going from Gen to Gen is not tunneling that’s how you do your job. I don’t try to tunnel but sometimes you aren’t left with an option. If an injured survivor body blocks for a healthy survivor with BT then I will tunnel that survivor. If it’s the only person I see I will tunnel them because a lot of times other survivors will notice and come take hits and then I’ll switch targets. Also if a survivor gets unhooked and stays injured and hops on a Gen I will immediately put them back on the hook. If you wanna sacrifice your heals to work on a Gen then that’s on you and I’m gonna go for the weakest target but that is considered tunneling by some.
I would say not to play for everyone’s fun because someone will always be unhappy. I did that for the first few years and it was exhausting because people would still cry in egc no matter how I played. And a lot of people would bm me for losing even when playing nice. Maybe I’m jaded but I play for my fun now.

Does it really incentivize spreading hook states though? After you've hooked your first survivor, you can just camp the hook for a trade to use your second pain res. Then if you manage to tunnel one survivor out before gates are done you get to enjoy 2-3 pain reses in the 3v1. I'm on board with the idea of disabling the perk once someone is dead.
Disabling the perk when someone is dead won’t solve the trade at hook issue. And I’ve never seen that done before except for when the killer was losing badly. People don’t think NoEd is fair because killers are rewarded for losing their objective. Why reward survivors for failing to stay alive by disabling killer perks? That’s a double standard.
-
@Blueberry said:
The perk needs buffs if anything. It’s generally a wasted perk slot.
whenever a survivor attempts to blind you, that survivor is immediately sacrificed. I think that would be cool.
-
I agree NoEd is 100% a crutch perk but also it’s a skill issue if you as a survivor can’t get rid of it. I mean it reveals itself. If the killer camps it then you can just leave. There is no reason they should get a 4k from NoEd alone. I think Adren is a crutch perk and it doesn’t have a full counter like NoEd. Terminus still lets them have the very strong speed boost. NoEd itself isn’t a counter if people want it gone.
-
Why are we trying to nerf perks that incentivizes spreading hook states? We need more strong 4 hook perks, not less
-
If you think killer is easy please play killer more. Matches are only a stomp if you are a new killer, or someone kills themselves/ dc’s that’s it

It's a Bloodpoint Event. Which is amazing. A lot of people have been bringing their Anniversary Offerings and Bloody Party Streamers to boost everyone and that's nice.
But there are those few people who bring Map Offerings, Hook Offerings, and/or Moris during the Event. Ive seen a lot of Survivors and Killers do it, so both sides do it.
Listen, Im all for bringing whatever you want in a game, but at the same time, this event is meant for Bloodpoint grinding, I dont see the point in not bringing a Bloodpoint Offering. Hell, even those awful Common and Uncommon BP Offerings is at least something leaning towards the event, small amounts of BP can add up over time and really help with saving time in the long run.
None of this is to say "bring insert thing that benefits me", I just think more people should be bringing BP Offerings to further benefit themselves (and/or others depending on the Offering) during the Event. Even the small +X% BP Offerings can go a long way.
And why does this bother me?
Idk, it's like watching someone shoot themselves in the foot. I want to help and kind of tell people to "run BP Offerings every match, they will help a lot" but with crossplatform I cannot do it, it just gives me this discomfort feeling of wanting to help but being unable to.
SINCE THIS NEEDS TO BE SAID:
There seems to be some confusion or misunderstanding as to what Im trying to say. Im not saying "bring stuff that benefits me", in fact, I literally said "even those awful Common and Uncommon BP Offerings is at least something leaning towards the event", which literally wouldnt benefit me.
I just think people should be bringing more Bloodpoint Offerings instead of stuff that hardly benefits them (e.g. Cut Coins/Shiny Coins), even something as simple as a Common BP Offering is something. Also I do understand Archive challenges and Daily Rituals exist, and I consider them the exception since they still add to the BP Event.
Also to further clarify, I would not attack or harass someone over this, something as simple as an Offering is not a justification for being attacked or harassed. The entire point of this post was just to talk about how I feel and that's it.
I have also edited the original section a bit since some of wording since I dont feel like it properly articulated my thoughts. Pardon me if things came off the wrong way.
I’m not wasting my BP offerings on the 100% multiplier matches. I’m saving them for the 3-400% games

Yeah but two things can be true at the same time. We can face the problem combos of perks can have when they work to good together without nerfing the perks with a point system and attack the reasons why killer tunnel and slug.
But let's be honest even if we had more then enough time and we would not loose two to tree gens in the first vhase there is still a big part that would still Tunnel. Bhvr should finally use a hammer and get rid of tunneling once and for all
That’s not gonna happen 99% of the time it’s unjustified but 1% of the time it’s a very valid strat. I ran into a p400 lobby and I could immediately tell they were above my skill level. After they popped two gens I decided to tunnel out one of the people I hooked twice and even then I struggled to keep up. So I started slugging when there was one gen left. And I ended up 4k’ing. If I did neither of those things I would’ve got 4 man outed, for sure.

Items are the only things that slightly counter act the killers power spike. The 4 v 1 argued is no longer valid as the most used killers have incredible anti loop. That argument world when you had wraith and trapper. Now the power spike for killers need a way to give survivors something and if I want to run a flashlight to help balance the power out I shouldn't be hard countered because the killer has to much info
The killer doesn’t know any of the 16 perks between you. They don’t know if your SWF or not either. You could run 4 flashbangs and they would have no clue. 4 blast mines, 4 residual manifests. It’s safe to assume if all 4 of you have a flashlight the killer will bring LB. If my three mates have flashys then I’ll put mine away.

If you bled out 4 survivors then you got "The Entity Hungers" rating, which means a 0 kill game.
But you still pip up. So you aren’t totally punished is all I’m saying.
-
I’m all down for making things fair so why don’t we make survivors 1st person too? Also make it a 1v1. This game balances itself by being unbalanced in certain ways. Survivors can see each others items and coordinate in the lobby using the lobby chat. Killers can see what items you bring and adjust. Fair.
-
@apathyinc said:
The game isn't counting bleed-outs as kills, so it's really a loss for the killer when it happens.
That’s not true I bled out 4 survivors after they tried protecting an exploiting player and I pipped up. Granted they kept getting up with perks but I did still pip.
-
If they create a point system your matches will only skyrocket in camping, tunneling and slugging. We need to address why they feel the need to run 4 slowdowns. I use zero slowdowns myself and I win very often until I reach red rank 1. Then I start losing far more often. Survivors need other objectives on top of gens so we don’t have to keep increasing gen times. That’s why I liked Ruin Undying because the killer would really run any other slowdowns mainly info. But now that that meta has been gutted it’s been a 4 slowdown meta instead of 2.
-
If it's too easy its boring to me, if it's too hard I still think it's fun UNLESS they do the W Key strat. Or hiding constantly. I've only Dc'ed 3 times in 3 years and it's against W Keyers or people who hide. I just said sorry for DC'ing but that playstyle is way too boring for my ADHD brain.

What??? Devour isnt even a slowdown perk. Sure you can say they waste time looking for the totem, but same applies to Lullaby
I would absolutely say it’s a slowdown perk. Especially if you combine it with undying so they have to cleanse it twice. Because ALL survivors will stop working on gens to find it. A lot of survivors will just ignore Lullaby and only cleanse it if they stumble across it. Devour forces you off gens or pay the price.
-
Old undying should come back now that ruin is trash. Lose your tokens on token based hexes but get a second chance. A lot of them need reworks like Huntys Lullaby tbh prolly the worst Hex Perk imo. But if you buff it it’s gonna be a nightmare on doctor so idk.

Needs to be reworked. I think it would work cool if it was like plaything. Where after a hook, it makes that survivor's skill checks completely silent until they cleanse it.
That’s an awesome idea tbh! Coz if new people struggle to hit it then they can just cleanse the totem.

-
Survivor is generally less stressful because you can blame the other 3 survivors. As a killer you can blame the game but at the end of the day it’s basically all on you. I will say however if I get an indoor map as Huntress I literally don’t stress at all because it’s so unfair for me that there isn’t anything I can do skill wise to change it.

Eruption and Overcharge also count as 2 regression events. 4 kicks and the Gen is blocked. Since we are limited to 8 kicks a lot of those perks need to be buffed or changed.

If there’s not gonna be any long term solution to tunneling early in a match any time soon can there be either more anti tunnel perks added or small or slight buffs to the current anti tunnel perks in the game. Before I get a horde of angry killers yelling at me yes I understand that there will be times in a match where your hand in a match will be forced and you’ll need to tunnel someone out for pressure and yes more survivors need to understand this as well so whether survivors like it or not there will be matches where them or someone on their team will end up being tunneled out for pressure. The main issue I’m seeing is early game tunneling it’s been so common lately and simply put it’s no fun when either you’re tunneled out and killed or it happens to one of your teammates super early into the match because of being the “weak link”
Should’ve let the basekit UB and 4 Man down equal a Mori and just made it to where if a survivor had a self pick up perk the game wouldn’t end. Just like that 4 minute slugs would be gone.

Brutal Strength does almost nothing. Dissolution requires an injury and you have to force them to fast vault. Brutal Strength needs to be buffed to 50% tbh.
