I play Freddy on there as Killer... In the Dream World. It makes it even worse. I lose Survivors do easily, I can't follow scratchmarks nor bloodpools on those maps.
Blue scratchmarks/ Auras would be a cool way to fix it. Maybe we can get that one day.
-
Wesker Should be just above or Just below Artist. Oni Should be above artist for sure.
-
As a Huntress who uses 4 aura perks, yes lol. Trying to read auras on those maps are a nightmare. Even with my Nvidia color filters there isn't anything i can do to change it.

I get so much anxiety when I am about to play killer. I hate and I don’t even know why I get so nervous. I have over 2k hours in killer but I still get nervous as all get out and I wish I didn’t.
Any suggestions? I know it’s silly and it is, truly. I’m trying to work on it, but I also love playing killer so much.
What stresses me out is thinking about the survivors bagging at the exit gate after I play nice lol. Because if I knew they would do it I would differently. It’s sad because they could easily make it to where survivors who crouch repeatedly at a gate could have the gate blocked to them for 60 seconds or something. But I don’t think they’ll ever do it. I don’t have a problem with tbags during the game but waiting till there is nothing left for me to do is annoying AF.

this stupid feature just once again cost me a kill srsly who needs it?
It feels like it’s been getting worse too. I swung at a survivor taking a window while I was right next to them and it made me hit the window frame. Very annoying.

I received no prompt. Even on the Meg that I did kill, I just swung at her and missed as her generator exploded.
I guess it must be different, you are on switch if I remember right.
-
When you get close enough there should be a prompt that pops up. For example mine shows the Mouse 1 Icon and next to it, it says kill. But like the other person said you just have to be close enough and don't lunge. But they can't be mid vault/ occupied or else you'll just grab them

Aura reading perks takes no skill though because it means your bad at finding survivors and must use a perk to do so?. When dbd was new was there anything call aura reading? Tell me how does lethal pursuer take any skill? Tell me how no where to hide takes skill(kicking a gen). Tell me how nurses take skill?(free aura reading instantly when someone trying to heal)
Killers had to use their eyes and ears to find people. Once more killers cause things on themselves and like I said its real common of huntresses/blights to run lethal than most other killers.
Maybe if there was not 20 + aura reading perks + add ons maybe distortion would be not used so much. Maybe nerf it that more than one aura reading perk/add on cant be used since bvhr took away survivors from endurance stacking.
Yeah everything in killers rule books for survivors take no skill. Yeah ill just start walking to the hook and pointing at it since killers complain about everything survivor do.
healing build=complain needs nerf takes no skill
sabo build=takes no skill needs nerf
anti hookbuild=takes no skill needs nerf
exhaustion perks=takes no skill need nerf
ftp/buckle up=takes no skill needs nerf
back ground player flashlight/flashbang safe/pallet safe=takes no skill nerf
adrenaline/dead hard=takes no skill needs nerf
gen speed build=takes no skill need nerf
It goes both ways lol, both sides complain relentlessly about the other. I never claimed aura reading perks require any skill either lol but landing a hatchet with the aura read information does require a lot of skill. But also survivors have Windows of Op which is also a zero skill perk that plays the game for you and it has a nearly 40% pick rate.
I really don’t care what perks survivors bring tbh, I tunnel out distortion users because I have nothing else to do. If I can’t go for snipes/ trick shots because I have zero perks because they have distortion well then what should I do? I’m playing a zero perk game, at that point. So I might as well try to win since that’s all that’s left for me. Survivors don’t like it but that’s tough cookies. I don’t like it when they bring distortion so two can play at that game, if I don’t get to have fun then neither do you. :) -

Sad story for you I rather 4 slow downs than aura reading you know why? if your being looped and cant catch anyone your 4 slow down or any gen regression perks becomes useless. Oh so its not the same if a survivor dc? They could have trash net, their power can go out, they could have something come up in rl. Huntresses are the biggest tunnelers anyways so whatever. Your calling me goofy yet you claim you have bad internet lol. Perhaps its time to stop using fast food or retail store internet @HexHuntressThighs
I was calling you goofy for complaining about Huntress running four auras when your ONE PERK counters ALL FOUR. So why complain about it? It literally requires no skill at all and counters half or an entire build. I’m just saying, I see distortion; I tunnel. Simple. It’s very fun to do anyways. And if one survivor isn’t running distortion I let them go.
And 0 hooks maybe happens 1 out of 1,000 games. 4 Gen slowdowns almost always gets value. And while you may prefer to play against 4 slowdowns 99.99% of people would rather not.

killers tunnel overall distortion or not we also use shadow step to add to distortion as well. Funny thing it was a huntress we had who dc on us, huntress/blights 95% of the times are the one that runs lethal the most ,anytime I stream and load a match me and my chat vote huntress or blight and usually me or one of them guess correctly 95% of the time its really sad killers complain about survivor running the same meta perks yet killer is the same. 95% huntress fun full aura build. Every artist runs/pain res and switch. Every pyramid head runs am all ears I can go on and on but ill stop there. Any killer I face I know what perk they mostly likely to have as their base kit.
Hunty’s like going for snipes. Do you want them to run 4 slowdowns? lmao. And you don’t even know that’s why they DC unless they told you, they could just have trash internet like I do sometimes. I just say if I can’t have fun and go for snipes because survivors are running distortion, all I have left to do is win. And if I have zero perks because distortion counters 4 perks then I just tunnel. Whenever they ask me why I tunneled all I said is “distortion” and move on lol. I’m sure people would rather them run full aura instead of full slowdown.
-
@goodfriday said:
Funniest dc for me is when me and my swf all of us had distortion and killer had lethal and did not find us and instant dc. If only solo que have the same sense to use the perk.
I don’t even dc then lol. I run full aura on Huntress and if I see everyone has distortion I just start tunneling people out. No reason to dc really lol.

"True Stealth."
Where's the description for that? Is that some developer designation for killers? What makes a "true" stealth killer and who has the right to make that decree? You mentioned Ghostface makes noise with his cloak flapping, and then said all true stealth killers make zero noise and have zero indicator of their presence aside from LoS, which seems like you going against your own argument of stealth killers not changing between indoor and outdoor maps, but I digress. So does that mean Skull Merchant is closer to a truth stealth killer than he is? She makes no noise with her Undetectable.
Stealth is a property of game design applied to killers when the developers want to give the player the ability to mask their location. Freddy's Lullaby does that, it is, in fact, the purpose of the trait. It's a stealth ability, because what else is it? When the devs gave it to him compared to a regular terror radius, what was their intention? To make him stealthier.
I won't deny that stealth killers often have other abilities, but also consider where most of these characters are on a tier list before saying Chase and Ranged Killers are the ones with strength issues. Pig has been considered mediocre since forever, only now getting substantial buffs. Dredge is usually B tier for most people, on account of his addon dependency and rather ironically, his map dependency. Spirit is arguably top 3 I admit. Ghostface, despite his popularity, often put in low B to C tier. Chucky is good, that's another one. Michael and Freddy, the only two killers some people have the gall to say are worse than Trapper. So that's Chucky and Spirit that are generally considered powerful, and I feel compelled to shout-out Myer's tombstone and whatnot, despite the fact that ig we aren't mentioning add-ons in this discussion.
Huntress, Unknown, Plague, PHead, Pinhead, Artist? I rarely see these outside of A. What does that leave on the okay to poor scale for ranged killers? Trickster and DS are often times with Ghostface in C or B, and Clown is usually C and occasionally D. Those are pretty good numbers, all things considered. That said, I do think something should be done for these killers on indoor maps, I even made a post about it earlier. But arguing that somehow Stealth killers are the ones who hold the power among the cast? Nah, I can't see it.
Never said stealth killers are strong, nor did I say Huntress is bad at all. But I’ll say Huntress is low A Tier (I agree with otzdarva putting her that low in A) but when she gets an indoor map I would say it makes her D Tier on those maps. Same with Slinger to a degree. 110 killers, slower when aiming, having to reload, can generally go for long range shots and so on. All I’m saying is indoor maps are worse for more killers than outdoor maps period. A ranged killer is at a bigger disadvantage on an indoor map than a stealth killer on an outdoor map. ESPECIALLY with some of them being 110 AND having to reload and one in particular having to literally drop chase to reload.
And while yes they gave Freddy a lullaby to make him more stealthy, does it work? The awnser is no not at all. It’s literally the same as a terror radius to be honest. A “true” stealth killer is Any killer that can remove their terror radius at will without perks or add ons. And they would have to remove their lullaby as well or else that’s not very stealthy is it? Survivors have no idea where the killer is at besides visually seeing them. Ghosties robes and Meyers breathing are things that give them away when it’s already far too late and nothing can be done about it.
It literally cannot be denied that indoor maps are worse for more killers than outdoor maps. Outdoor maps would consistently benefit the most amount of killers. if something happened where we got 30 new stealth killers then they should help them by making the odds of them spawning on indoor maps higher or something. No matter how you slice it, it’s not fair to consistently add maps that hurt other killers severely without doing something to help. And that’s exactly what they were trying to do to make Huntress faster; but it got removed because people don’t want a low A Tier killer to go to high A Tier. Like it was the end of the world.

Freddy's Lullaby is Basekit Oblivious it is stealth 100% if you know how to approach. Xeno gets a shorter TR in Crawler Mode and can traverse the map through tunnels and even detect survivor inside it with undetectable, that's stealth. Spirit LoS does matter because you can hold power longer and wait until you're closer to start chase, leading to more effective ambushes. LoS does matter with Chucky because if he's running from one object to another, he's visible. I don't see what part of that you don't understand.
Moving from rock to rock? You can be seen as you move if the survivor is swinging camera around and looking for you, which any good one will be once they realize you're a stealth killer. Moving from wall to wall? You're behind a wall, I don't need to explain what that does for you. Wraith LoS in the distance is absolutely useful, especially if he hasn't seen you. What if you're waiting in a locker for head on? If it's an indoor map, you won't see him coming.
Nightfall and screaming can disorient Survivors if they're inexperienced, it isn't much but it's useful at times for Dredge, especially on indoor maps with multiple floors, like the Game. Regardless, he is designed as a stealth killer, which of your own admission overrules how he's actually played, since apparently stealth add-ons don't count because how a killer is initially conceived matters more than the game given options available to them? Is that your argument?
Huntress has a stealth addon, idk what to tell you. Default killer design is irrelevant, because most killers are encouraged in some way to try stealth builds. Stealth is part of the games design and is present across most of the cast in some form. How many killers have an Addon that turn them into Ranged killers? How present is your niche in the rest of the cast? What if we don't get any more ranged killers for awhile and the ratio changes? Will you advocate for maps no longer designed with ranged killers in mind?
This whole reply comes across as a really bad faith way to say "The Killers I like deserve priority in design because they're more common" which again isn't even true by the nature of how this game augments killers with add-ons. You mentioned in a post of mine some time ago that you play Huntress 90% of the time, correct? And when you aren't playing her, you're playing Artist/Trickster/PHead? All also ranged killers, no?
You seem pretty convinced and I'd rather not go in circles with this argument, so I'll end with this question.
Do you think your experience with Stealth Killers is somehow more than everybody else in this thread, and more than enough to tell them that everything they've explained to you is wrong?
I do play Huntress the majority and only switched to other ranged killers casually because they aren’t punished as much for using powers. I have 500 hours on Michael alone, over 100 on wraith and spirit, and only about 30 on Ghostface. My experience with stealth killers isn’t nearly a lot but it is more than enough to know stealth killers don’t suffer as much as ranged killers do when it comes to certain maps considering the stealth killers have secondary abilities that help when stealth is hard.
Meyers and Ghostie insta down removing half of the chase in most situations, Pig has bear traps that slow down the game, Dredge can teleport and has anti loop along with nightfall to confuse survivors as well. What does slinger have? What does Huntress have? What does Trickster have? They have nothing but just their standard power. PP head has cages and artist has anti loop but still these so called “stealth” killers have extra aspects to their powers to help them out on poor maps. Spirit/ Wraith move insanely fast and are hard to see as well.
Wesker, Blight, Billy, Bubba, Artist, Huntress, Trickster, Slinger, Oni, Cenobite, Singularity and Skull Merchant are all held back by indoor maps for different reasons. That’s 12 killers out of 35 who are hindered by indoor maps. Even Dredge can be held back by indoor maps. And no Huntress having a wooden fox does not make her a stealth killer. If you care about winning at all you would never even attempt to use stealth on her. And in no way can dredge be stealth because how loud he is. You can literally hear him before you see him, you can hear ghosties robes but only when he is really close. And while yes you are oblivious when asleep against Freddy having a huge lullaby immediately makes him not stealthy. Ghostface doesn’t have a lullaby, Meyers doesn’t have a lullaby and nor does wraith. True stealth killers have nothing that gives away their position except for the player seeing them
And every map is filled with so much clutter hardly any maps are bad for stealth killers. The farm maps are basically the worst ones for them with a handful of others here and there. Either they make Slinger/ Huntress 115 and both faster while Ads and holding which would literally solve the indoor map problem completely for the 2 who are affected by it most or they can never make an indoor map again which will help out the other killers I mentioned.

"Besides there are 3 stealth killers in the game"
Killers whose main ability is stealth: Wraith, Chucky, Myers, Ghostface.
Killers With Significant Stealth Abilities: Pig, Dredge, Xeno, Sadako, Freddy, Spirit.
That's almost a third of the roster.
Even ignoring the secondary list of killers your count is wrong, not to mention the massive list of add-ons based around stealth, including on Huntress. It's one of the most common killer designs and tons of other characters have undetectable or oblivious perks.
Less LoS = Easier Stealth and that isn't a debate, the less you can see someone, the stealthier you are. Therefore, more LoS = Harder Stealth because the more you can see someone, the easier it is to find them.
Ghostface as a killer relies on appearing at the wrong place at the wrong time for survivors, and snagging an easy down when they don't realize he's there. If somebody sees his floating threads while he fails to make it around a rock in time on an outdoor map, It doesn't matter if he doesn't get knocked out of Nightshroud, because they'll have booked it to Timbuktu by the time he realizes and stands up. With certain pathing on indoor maps, this scenario simply can't occur, because they can't see you until you're already stalking them. See what I mean?
Freddy is not stealth even remotely he has a lullaby that actively gives him away, Xeno isnt stealth at all either as the turrets detect him from up to 40 meters away, spirit is invisible when phasing so while she can be stealth LoS doesnt matter nearly as much. Chucky is 1 foot tall tall wall or chest height LoS is irrelevant because he is hard to see regardless. Wraith again is literally invisible past 24 meters and moves so fast that LoS almost doesn't matter. Dredge isnt even close to stealth with how loud he is, lockers are the only stealth aspect and even then people use them to teleport and thats it. So ill say there are 5 stealth killers. Stealth based add ons are irrelevant to the characters default playstyle. Huntress is NOT stealth and can NEVER be stealth. Her 50 meter lullaby prevents it completely.
There are far more killers hindered by indoor maps than helped, so no there should never be another indoor map again. They could've fixed it but didn't so might as well just make it fair by having only outdoor maps with an insane amount of clutter. Or make it to where certain killers can never play certain maps.

- Can see stealth killer approaching from half the map away
- Not gimped
Honestly, huntress games are among my least favourite. They always run a full aura build and hit you from a distance without ever starting chase. Even on the odd chance they don't proxy the hook or the exit gates from a nearby hill, you end up with terrible BP scores.
Pig is 4’’1” so no you can’t see her half a map away. Ghostface is like two feet tall when crouching and is impossible to expose and pull out of Nightshroud. Not to mention 70% of all the clutter on every map that is literally head height. I’m sure you would rather them run full aura then full slowdown anyways so it’s not that big of a deal. Huntress’s would also be more likely to bother with actual chases if they weren’t 110/77 when holding. Besides there are 3 stealth killers in the game compared to 9 ranged killers who suffer on indoor maps, 2 chainsaw killers who suffer on indoor maps and 3 movement speed killers who suffer on indoor maps.

Different maps suit different killers. Just as Huntress is gimped on indoor maps, M1 stealth killers are gimped on open maps.
When we have about 25 outdoor maps and 4 indoor maps, it's pretty entitled to think you should continued to have the upper hand while stealth killers should suffer. We need way more indoor maps to balance those scales.
No stealth killers are not “gimped” by outdoor maps. Meyers is the only one since he doesn’t crouch and is slow/ tall. Ghostface ruined this game for Huntress because how much map clutter they added for him and other stealth killers tbh. And Huntress does worse on indoor maps than stealth killers on outdoor maps AND we have SEVEN indoor maps now that Gawkins is back. They could’ve solved the problem by making her faster but chose not to. So we better not get another indoor map ever again unless they make her faster.

I love indoor maps for every reason a person could think of.
1: Structural variety: first and foremost. I love the fact that I'm not just looking at open space smattered with props. I'm looking at signage, doors, decorations, cool hallways, staircases, twists and turns, etc. The outdoor maps are largely similar to me, often boiling down (gameplay wise) to different colors. Gas Heaven is green, the Eyrie is yellow, but in both maps you're basically just running around an open area with the occasional wall, pallet or prop. Now, picture RPD vs. The Game. Those maps aren't anything like each other at all. They play completely different, they look and feel completely different. There are different strategies to both. Plus they're night and day in terms of appearance.
2: LOS. As mentioned, the outdoor maps provide long line of sight. Not just from one wall or prop to another, I mean the visibility of the map altogether. Find a relatively straight line of sight in most outdoor maps and you can usually see halfway across the entire playfield. In some maps you can see from one end to the other. This means less places to hide, and less places to hide means less ways to play. I love that the indoor maps allow for more opportunities to sneak around and mindgame the opponent in regular play, NOT chase.
3: Forces some killers to have to play differently. And my guess is this is why a lot of players don't like it: As Bubba or Billy, Huntress or Slinger, you have to adjust your playstyle. You don't just have free open room to swing away, knowing that the survivor has nowhere to go. In indoor maps there are lots more corners, funnel points, etc., which allow for more gameplay strategies. But a lot of killers don't want more gameplay strategies, they want to easily hit their opponents. Understandable, but not always fair. Indoor maps allow for more plays.
I absolutely love indoor maps. They're more complex, more interesting. I love every single one of them more than all of the outdoor maps. I love them on both sides (especially as my boy scratched mirror Mikey). I was actually pretty bummed that the beautiful and more aesthetically interesting theater (seriously, compare the theater to something like Badham. Far more interesting in my opinion) was only one third of the newest map. It's like BHVR is reluctant to do indoor maps these days, likely because so many sweaty players don't want complications to their wins.
Hopefully they never make another indoor map again honestly.

@Blueberry said:
It's quite a common thing to hear that many people dislike indoor maps compared to outdoor maps. I personally, on both sides, prefer indoor maps. I personally think they're more interesting as the game play loop feels more varied by the layout whereas most outdoors maps have the same tiles and loops with a different splash of paint to where they generally speaking all play exactly the same. To me this makes the indoor maps give each match a more unique experience than the average map does.
Now on to my next point. Healthy design. This is where I think most people take issue with indoor maps as they think they're typically more unhealthy design. I actually feel the complete opposite of this.
I'll give a few points to support this:
- Significantly more line of sight blocking. This prevents the killer from being seen a mile away and encouraging hold w game play which is boring for everyone and unhealthy for the game. We want to encourage interaction and who can play loops better.
- Outdoor maps benefit swf more than solo queue since it's easier to relay information on outdoor maps that the killer is headed a teammates direction since they have many more eyes constantly on the killer. This is harder to relay specifically on an indoor map since they can't pinpoint as exactly where he's headed. Most the community agrees we don't want things that benefit swf more than solo.
- "Most" the killers that benefit significantly from indoor maps are "generally speaking" the weaker killers to begin with, whereas most the killers who have more trouble on indoor maps are already the stronger ones. Exceptions, but speaking in generalities here. Maps that help the worst killers and lower the already very high ones is good design. This helps balance things out.
- I already referenced this previously, but for the health of the game people want matches to feel unique and more different from one another. This is another reason so many people want different game modes. Most outdoor maps feel like the same match on repeat. Indoor maps create more variety between games.
- Now this will probably be one of the most controversial points, but I think the loops on indoor maps are much better balanced than the jungle gyms we typically see on outdoor maps. On average I think many of them are more likely to be actually playable when the pallet is thrown rather than a forced break. Before someone even brings it up, no I'm not referencing some of the extremely unsafe pallets that require a stun on maps like Hawkins. I agree those are bad. Also before it gets brought up on this topic, I'm not referencing the loops on The Game. Those are very badly designed loops with almost all being god pallets or forced breaks.
Now one negative I agree about indoor maps is how they can unfairly hurt some ranged killers. That's a totally fair point. I just think "in general" they are overall more healthy with everything else.
I just don't see a rational argument for indoor maps being more unhealthy than outdoor maps as we tend to hear a lot, other than the argument of I dislike them because they're rougher on my specific killer.
What are y'alls thoughts? If you do think they're objectively more unhealthy I'd love to hear why.
I'd love to see much more indoor maps added to the game myself for enjoyment but also because I think they're healthier for the game.
Please no more indoor maps, it guts Huntress completely and is not fair for the people who main her. It removes 75% of her power. I like the way indoor maps look and if she kept the PTB movement speed buff it would’ve been fine but she didn’t get to keep it so we should never get another indoor map again honestly.

You could use that argument to remove chat from pc users too. There's no reason console players shouldn't have access to chat. Other console games with crossplay have it too.
It needs to be revived on PC as well. 99.99% of the time it’s used to hurl insults at the other side.

W key is when survivors start running as soon as they hear the terror radius/ or see the killer. If you start running when I round the corner 8 meters away that is NOT W keying. For example I’m playing Huntress on RPD and all survivors have Lithe/ Sprint Burst and when I get to a Gen with progress the scratch marks are already fading away, I catch up to them after running for 40 seconds unable to use hatchets pretty much until I get really close and then they Lithe at a window and I have to do it all over again. It’s rare that I go against it but when I do I usually just DC because it is very boring to go against. But it is a very common problem at high MMR, that’s why Kyto says he doesn’t like playing DBD anymore.

Would you want to play a side that have 40% of winning chance?
Yes absolutely, I played Friday all the time where survivors had a 10-20% escape rate. And there were EIGHT survivors. Along with the maps being almost TEN times the size. Escaping in that game felt amazing honestly, and seeing Jason was always terrifying because how deadly he was which made it waaaaay more fun. And I do play survivor a decent amount now and I gotta say, some matches are very boring because how much of a non threat the killer can be. That’s why I like NoEd, it makes it scarier and more tense.
-
This game is much more balanced than you would think. Friday had a 80-90% kill rate. People still played that game and loved it. This is the closest to balanced any Asym game has ever come. And they have done a pretty amazing job considering they have thousands of perk combinations to think about and balance on top of considering killer powers with it. I escape about 4 out of 10 matches and it’s fun, it feels fine. A killer should be a threat. Not a rival, not an opponent, but an unstoppable force that can only be slowed down and if you aren’t ruthlessly efficient in your objectives then you pay the price. The fact that they can make survivors escape as much as they do is amazing and a testament to good balance. If it was 50/50 this game wouldn’t be fun at all, people play killer because they are iconic characters and are the power role. If a killer can’t kill then what are they? Escapes should be somewhat rare which makes them more rewarding. Trust me, this game is great on BOTH sides.
-
It’s gotta be Huntress, consistently one of the most popular killers and I feel is underutilized in a lot of stuff. She is iconic enough to have her own movie and franchise. And would no doubt be the biggest female slasher of all time. The only other very iconic one is Pamela Voorhees to be honest.
-
- Ultra Rare that makes Huntress’s lullaby map wide.
- Ultra Rare that makes any skillchecks received while in the Lullaby radius difficult skill checks. (Doesn’t stack with other maybe?)
- Ultra Rare that causes gens hit by hatchets to exploded for 5% and can not be hit until again until it stops regressing.
- Rare that makes survivors receive a difficult skill check when a hatchet lands with 1 meter of them
- Rare that forces any survivor that vaults to slow vault when within 8 meters of Huntress as she winds up.
- Rare that blocks windows for 4 seconds after throwing a hatchet through them
- Rare that reveals survivors auras for 3 seconds intermittently when outside of the lullaby radius
A Lot of Huntress’s add ons are what I call “X Faster add ons” which are honestly very boring. Windup faster, recover faster, reload faster, hatchets travel faster and so on. I feel like they should make add ons that apply to her massive lullaby to be honest.

In her tome lore “A Lovely War” the soldiers claim she is supernatural and call her a Bodark. Which is the traditional Russian werewolf.
In her blighted skin she is mid transformation into a werewolf and the blighted serum brings out the hidden characteristics of the people it’s used on.
In her werewolf costume charm its flavor text reads “a disguise that fits her too well”
Her eyes are black which Bodarks/ Volklodaks have black eyes as well. This would also explain why she has been able to kill hundreds of soldiers at once and entire villages. Along with killing a Grizzly Bear with an Axe and Hatchets. (Which no human could do)
They mainly refer to her being a Bodark in the lore but I’m just speculating she is a Volklodak because she is so strong but never is it mentioned she actually transforms.
Also all her perks are Wolf related and she acts very animalistic. There are a few mentions of it in Hooked On You but I cant remember off the top of my head.

considering Huntress is heavily hinted at being a Volklodak (A Russian werewolf that maintains strength when in human form) she would definitely clear everybody but Nemmy.

This is primarily a question for killers, but I feel like it definitely applies to survivor too.
I feel like most in the community tend to latch onto a specific character and build much of their persona/discussions around them, so I was wondering, how often do you deviate from that character?
As killer, I honestly can't really say I have a main at all anymore. I've been playing Chucky the most as of late because he's so much fun, but I still wouldn't say I play him more than 10% of the time. I usually play Stealth killers, but I like switching it up to some of the chase centric or weird ones too. As weird as it is to say, I kinda love the Sadako rework and all the different aspects of her kit.
As survivor, I think I'll stick to Nicholas Cage just cause he's funny, but Jill and Bill are pretty frequent sub-ins because I like their games.
So, who's your main and how often do you actually pick them to play?
I play Huntress 90% of the time but sometimes I just have to take a break. There are way too many maps that guy her power like indoor maps / maps with an insane amount of clutter. Maps with an insane amount of high wall loops or super small high rock loops where you are forced to M1. So sometimes I just switch to Trickster/ Artist/ PP head since they aren’t as punished for using there powers or the maps they get.

Gotta be Hooked on You Huntress! 😩 I wish they made her axe look more like it did in HoY though.

I recently came across a video on twitter that showcased a tweet from the official DBD twitter that was responding to Twitch streamer/YouTube content creator 'The King's' tweet asking his followers "If you could ask the DBD Devs one serious question, what would it be?!"
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/DPQZWZFAXRYW/image.png
A user responded to his tweet with a series of questions they would like the devs to answer. One question in particular that was asked was "Are there plans to add more prestige rewards?" The DBD twitter account responded with the following:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/1JQRWDVNYVLX/image.png
Obviously this tweet did not sit well with the community, for good reason, and the tweet was flooded with negativity and criticism. Below is just a small portion of how people responded.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/B9C98ZCG4D4E/image.png
Circling back to what prompted my forum post to be made in the first place, the video that I watched was a compilation video of all the things that people did actually miss out on and can no longer be obtained in-game (mainly cosmetics). Here is a link to watch that video on twitter:
https://twitter.com/Felbane_/status/1777821991845646375
My question for the devs would be "Is this really about FOMO, or does this relate to not making money?" Listen I get BHVR is a company and money has to be made to appease the higherups. But when it comes to keeping your existing playerbase around and to keep them spending money on DLC and cosmetics in the store, wouldn't it make sense to add ways for players to get free things for their time and effort of say reaching Prestige level 100? During that P100 grind, most likely a player would spend real money on cosmetics from the store after their main character got a collection drop. Not saying this is a guarantee for every player, but a large majority of the playerbase will spend money on cosmetics for the character they are currently trying to prestige to 100.
Conclusion: I honestly think the FOMO mindset that the devs have is not real and whoever wrote that tweet was obviously trying very hard to make it sound like the devs want to be fair with it's players when it comes to free items. The tweet would've actually worked, if it wasn't for the fact that the devs have already done FOMO things. Legacy cosmetics/portraits, premium rift outfits from previous rifts are still not in the store, content creator specific cosmetics are no longer available (ex: Nea hype, H20 Trapper Mask, etc.), all of these are no longer available for the average person to get (unless they hack them in). I am not fully against FOMO. I think it's cool to have things that you have but others don't, it makes the item more special to the player that has it. But to tweet saying that you're against FOMO, yet the game has had FOMO instances or currently still does these FOMO related things it makes no sense. You can't go back and forth like this, especially to a dedicated community like DBD. I highly encourage the devs to rethink their decision on adding prestige rewards for reaching higher prestiged ranks. And if this has to do with management not approving more prestige rewards because it won't make more money, I encourage them to also rethink their decision because it will ultimately help keep the playerbase active and the majority of people will keep spending money on cosmetics and battle-passes when they are trying to get those free things.
Would you pay tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands designing cosmetics for a game that wouldn’t pay itself back at all? Not would very many people even get them? I want P100 rewards as much as the next person but it’s just not financially viable. Not to mention if they had P100 skins people might not buy any other skin for that character. And no licensed characters would get P100 skins either because they would probably have to make a deal for those changes too. They are in the business of making money at the end of the day.

Why does a killer with a healthy pick-rate and win-rate across all MMR's need buffs?
Firstly she has the THIRD LOWEST kill rate / win rate across all MMRS according to Bhvrs stats. So I would ask you. If a lot of people say a killer is fine but yet the stats show they lose constantly why wouldn't you change something? It's across all MMRS too and the very few times you see her used in tournaments and comp, she loses VERY badly.

Corrupt Purge literally needs to be stronger than hatchets cause of how much more restrictive Plague's power is compared to Huntress', if it were weaker than them Plague would be incredibly underpowered.
Pyramid Head only has barely above 10 meters of range when using his best (and quite literally his only useful) add-ons which is also literally a telegraphed attack to survivors before it hits them, zoning for days is literally the only thing this man's got in a chase against good survivors.
Artist 100% needs nerfs (as I've already said in a post) but cause of how unpopular she is nobody else cares about her.
Plague is very strong without corrupt purge as she is a 115 killer who can essentially insta down everyone, and insta downs from range with corrupt as long as survivors are broken which they almost always will be. PP heads attack is LESS telegraphed than Huntress as it doesn’t have a map wide full power sound, nor does he vocalize his attacks, and RoJ moves much faster and goes under objects/ through walls. Not to mention he is the god of tunneling and denying survivor perks lol.

In the last stats posted by BHVR Huntress literally had the second highest pick rate in the game after Chucky and that was even before her buffs, she's not suffering from being an unpopular pick at all lol.
I know lol I never said she wasn’t popular, she’s just outdated and people won’t admit it. Slowest killer in the game when holding a hatchet. Slower than Nurse. On TOP of being 110. And having the THIRD LOWEST kill rate in the game at TOP 5% MMR.
Crazy to me the Pyramid head can hit people through walls and moves at 110 while using RoJ, Plague being 110 while holding Corrupt Purge, Artist being 115 and having unbeatable anti loop and so on. I could rant about it forever tbh. She’s not bad by any means but she definitely needed a QoL change for her speed

huntress moves at 77 percent movement
deathslinger moves at 93.5
trickster moves at 96.5
the difference between slinger and trickster is small but compared to huntress she is way slower. the buff they were gonna give her was gonna be awesome but baby surviviors were butthurt.
the movement speed is for attempting a hatchet throw around loops and rocks, so you cant use your power, and to top it all off she moves at 110.
if huntress cant have her movement back then make her 115, what is the big deal?
blight is super speed and moves at 115, artist can snipe across the map and deny loops 115
so why can trickster be 115 but not huntress and slinger?
or if neither of these get approve then why not increase the wind up time? 3 seconds for a fully charge is a long time thats 18 meters of distance survivors make just to have a fast hatchet. i know there are addons for this but it should be base kit
A dev responded to me on my “survivors kill themselves on hook” post and said it’s purely feedback for why they changed her back. Too many people complaining made them revert it. There is no reason for her to be so slow, I’ve made several videos proving why her being that slow makes zero sense.
Indoor/ cluttered maps affect her more than any other ranged killer. One of two killers Having to leave chase and find a locker to reload. Being forced to M1 at 30% of the loops in the game. There is a reason why Shiny Pin has an insanely high pick rate and it will be like that permanently because she is unbearable without it. I could go on for ages but it doesn’t matter because survivors would rather go against Nurse, Chucky, Wesker and Blight over and over instead of a slightly stronger Huntress who has more counter play than any of the other killers I listed. I would’ve rather had the speed than the extra hatchets. -

Skip to 1:25. I get that trapped got an update that he gets a haste boost, but in this video I barely noticed a difference with that haste boost with his base speed. He is also using the coffee grinds adon making the haste even better, but when it's over he still feels like he's moving the same speed.
He also seems to catch up to survivors pretty quick even after hitting them.
I'll post some of my gameplay soon, but for some reason he just feels faster than me.
some creators speed up their videos by 10-15% to help keep people with short attention spans watching. It really does help a lot.

I am all in favor of strong iri addons, but why must they be on the top 2 killer? A skilled blight can already get great results without using these addons. Also, with how ubiquitous this combo is in my blight games, it certainly feels like the addons are common instead of ultra-rare. Do you realize how crazy 80% usage rate is? The survivor “equivalent” is an average of 3 BNPs/syringes every lobby.
Your usage rate is far off from the official usage rate. Because Distortion is in 60-70% of my games but only has a 10% pick rate. What do you think they should make his IRI add ones do?

This is kinda unrelated but seeing Huntress run at like a full sprint in that video is kind of jarring LMFAO.

@leowt said:
Over 80% of the blights I go against run this combo. “The downside is they only get 3 rushes”, you say. if they regain all their tokens in 6 seconds instead of 10, is it REALLY a downside? Especially with that speed, any distance you’ve made by outplaying the Blight can be caught up almost immediately. I honestly do not understand how anyone can think that this is fine.
What more do you want them to do to him? He’s already been nerfed so much a lot of people don’t even consider him S Tier anymore. Iri’s should be strong, they are ultra rare for a reason and the majority of them a garbage right now like Huntress’s soldiers Puttee

There have been hundreds of perks added to the game post launch, and despite this, numerous mechanics have been kept consistent across each trial. Some things I can think of off the top of my head are:
-Gen counts (a killer has never been able to functionally add another generator to the count or regress a finished gen)
-Hook stages (A survivor has never been able to regress their hook count)
-Exit Gates (A killer can't close a gate under any circumstances)
-End Game Timer (A survivor cannot refill the timer under any circumstances)
My question to you is which of these kinds of mechanics do you think should be on the table for perk design, and which do you think should be kept firmly off limits from manipulation?
Personally, I think things like Gen counts should be unchangeable, though Hook stages on both the survivor and killers side could be manipulated with the right design imo.
Also, a killer perk that makes it so finishing a gate opens the one on the other side of the map would be funny.
Devour Hope is technically a manipulation of hook stages as it can allow you to instantly kill a survivor who was never hooked to begin with.

It's been said on past dev streams they view the game as a 1v1v1v1v1 with MMR supporting this only caring about escapes and nothing regarding altruism. How ever BHVR just released a series of ads calling it a 4v1 in the title.
https://youtu.be/zpqYWx3Cubc?si=eWsNQoCbV4LD_T83
Isn't this mixed messaging? Why draw people in calling it a 4v1 when you don't view it that way and don calculate people's MMR that way? It's not a huge deal but it does feel disingenuous to me given what we know the devs have said previously.
I think it’s just a misunderstanding lol, it’s a 4v1 but they see it as multiple 1v1s when it comes to chases. But I don’t think they thought about body blocks and things like that. Also I don’t think that ad is even live because you can’t access it without the link and it has the aspect ratio and stuff in the title

I can whip out a handful just the past year. And just on DBDLeague on videos they have Huntress annotated on, there are likely much more scattered around. Your narrative of Huntress being some abandoned child in comp is nonsense. She isn't as liked because most of the time she's relegated to camping because that's her forte. It's boring and nobody wants to watch that.
The proof I'm providing below also serves to show it isn't ALMOST EXCLUSIVELY Blight / Nurse, even if they tend to be more common on average.
Maybe you never see her because you don't watch comp. Anyone who followed the recent DBDleague tournaments would know already.
WC2024:
2023S8:
I just checked the last 40 videos from that channel and Huntress doesn’t show up in any of them. So while I was wrong about it being only Nurse and Blight, I say my point still stands that she isn’t in comp because she’s not good enough.

@WolfyWood said:
With the recent Twins update can we all finally admit this is a dumb thing to say and admit that Wesker is a much healthier benchmark so BHVR stops with these reworks?
If Wesker is a healthy benchmark for every killer then Huntress and Trickster needs buffs again because Wesker is definitely better than both of them by a pretty good margin.

She's picked regularly because most comp tournaments involve brackets of killers separated in power. Most of them time the killers aren't even 'picked', they're given for both teams to use. Sometimes it's in a bracket of a few others, and huntress' ability to camp very effectively makes her a good choice all things considered.
There's no more huntresses as there are Weskers or Artists. Blights and Nurses tend to be spotlight killers due to them not needing as many restrictions.
That said, how can you say there's only a handful? Have you counted every round of every tournament in the last years? I'm willing to bet she's picked, mostly because teams don't always get to choose.
Seriously, why are people having these opinions? It's like nobody knows how comp works and yet they have the biggest opinions about it.
Edit: The question was if we've seen Huntress in comp. The answer is yes and I provided a very recent event. Stop moving the goal post.
I guess you’re right we have seen her twice in 8 years so I guess that counts as seeing her (that’s a joke) 99.99% of the videos covering the comp scene do not have Huntress as the killer. Almost all are exclusively Blight/ Nurse so if she does get picked nobody cares about her matches at all lol. And the most recent showcase of her in comp on Hens’s channel she got cooked every time so idk what to tell you I never see her at all.
-
That’s not true at all lol. Because comp players tunnel and camp to try and kill someone as quick as they can. But they always pick nurse or blight because they are much better.

To add to the video above, here's All Hallows League with one of the rounds features the Huntress being played by both teams. Said teams being Eternal and Elysium.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HvpxYXFCWRU
I don't understand defending a narrative with something so easily searched up.
a handful of times in 8 years isn’t good proof. She’s not picked in comp because she’s not good enough.

@Rumble said:
I'm confused. Are the devs just pandering to content creators and baseless survivor complaints?
They said it’s pure feedback when it comes to certain things. People blame new players on Huntress having a low kill rate but refuse to acknowledge the fact she has the third lowest kill rate at high MMR. She needed shiny pin to be basekit tbh but people don’t want killers to be better. I’m sure they would want every killer to be C tier.
