Still surprised how much community fell in love with Unknown because I didn't like him at all. Trying figure out what i'm missing with him for a while.
Probably missing a braindead antiloop power looking at your pfp.

Freddy, sadako, dredge can all teleport so having them immediately be on a survivor the moment the match starts wouldnt be fair (I know its freddy and sadako but still). I dont really know for chucky.
As for blight nurse and spirit, blight still takes time to get across the map (though its a lot less), nurse's map mobility is average unless its an indoor/multifloored map (with edge cases like badham houses/basement), and spirits map moblity is good but not too impressive so she wouldnt need a limit like that. With how bad lockers placements are you'd still be more likely to be onto a survivor immediately with either Blight or Billy than with Dredge unless you're playing on Midwitch.

It's a fair point though yeah. He'd be weaker after the next patch and he's already not as strong as these 4 killers I mentioned.

Agreed. People literally tweaking about it for some reason lol. RB only lasts 7 seconds and blight has to recharge his tokens after landing a hit so he couldn't even do much with it. unless he M1s first. But even then it doesn't compare to his old add ons. And it's one less gen slow down perk AND no bloodlust. So I think it would be fine.
Oh right, I guess that would be true. Blight has such a low recharge on his power that I lowkey forgot that he even has it lol.
-
Rapid Brutality would probably be too strong on Blight's with double speed add-ons.
But Surge would probably be fine, people are just overreacting over that perk.

I mean, whether or not I personally attempt a group save depends upon how likely it is to get me killed. I've seen experienced players with thousands of hours try to go after a survivor hooked by a facecamping Michael even though it'd just be a 1K otherwise. If the Japanese have enough brain cells to make that call, good for them.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3718247#Comment_3718247
It's a perfectly fair comparison considering that Otz has one tier list and he uses one set of criteria for M2 killers (one OP build can be the reason for the entire A-tier placement) and another set of criteria for M1 killers (ultra-strong builds aren't considered because of a lack of an M2). We wouldn't be having this conversation if he'd put Plague in B-tier and Myers in C-tier and explained that each had builds that could catapult their power level into the stratosphere.
It also doesn't, I'll add, put Myers into C-tier "like Otz", since Otz's tier list only goes down to C anymore, and Myers is consistently the last or next to last. That tier list has a D tier with a ton of killers below Myers (although some of these placements are a little odd, admittedly).
(And again, I'm not just talking about Otz here. Myers gets consistently underrated despite a decent kill rate and incredible builds.)
I absolutely agree with Hag's placement in D-tier, however. I still don't understand why she gets placed so highly by so many killers when she's slower than Trapper and her power can be countered without a flashlight now.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3718250#Comment_3718250
Well, Bamboozle also solves Myers' looping problem, and you only really get one chase "for entire days", because the first chase takes an eternity, and after that, there's no pallets left and you have T3 99'd consistently and everyone goes down at once. It's not always good strategy to play that way since four gens can pop while you're getting your first down, but the entire map becomes a deadzone, and then you're basically free to hook everyone all at once.
Also, with M&R + DR, you get your first hit for free or almost for free, and combined with Bamboozle, you can cut your chase time by a solid 70%.
Also, as I said above, infinite T3 with Coup de Grace and Bamboozle is really nasty. Not only do most loops become 100% unsafe, but oftentimes survivors don't even get to a loop before they go down.
There are a lot of ways to make Myers better at looping other than Tombstone is all I'm getting at here.
Also agree about Chucky. Even his scamper wasn't that bad unless you were running his iri addon, in which case, yeah, it was BS.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3718266#Comment_3718266
She was A-tier at that point (at the very least), at least when it came to pubs, but I also didn't say anything about Otz in regards to Sadako, and he also rated her as a D-tier killer IIRC when she came out despite her high kill rate, so this helps prove my point.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3718287#Comment_3718287
I will do that sometime. I'm definitely interested in trying it out.
I actually agree with a lot of the placements on the community tier list there even more than the ones made by the gaming company. I'm not sure I'd put Chucky or Nemi in D-tier, but I'll never understand why Ghostface gets consistently ranked higher than Myers in Western tier lists despite his power being so easily countered, his stealth being inferior (when certain Myers builds are taken into account), and a lack of any of the patently OP nonsense Myers can get away with with certain builds.
Kill rates don't tell a killer's strength unless you genuinely think Freddy's stronger than Blight. And yeah Otz only rated Sadako highly after her first rework, but at that point he was considering her to be better than killers with strong M2s such as Huntress and Pyramid Head, so your point that Western people would never rate killers with a lack of M2 highly was already disproven by bringing up Otz himself.
-
I mean Otz literally put Sadako in A tier in his latest tier list that was made before her map wide condemn build got nerfed by her latest rework so you've just shot your argument in the foot by bringing him up lol.

Its not about healthy design. Its about strenght. Billy cannot readjust. Blight can. He can do that 5 times. For our current version of the game hes is fine. Your are right there. However, if we want to see any further buffs to killer perks, maps or general killer basekit, blight will become a problem again. Same with nurse.
Do I need to remind you all why awakened awareness was nerfed?
Well I think we should get to these basekit killer changes first so then we can adjust Blight accordingly to them cause otherwise as I've said, we're risking overnerfing a killer just for the sake of it. Just like I said previously, look no further than Freddy/overheat Billy for such examples.

He needs a rework. Blight has too much going for him to be fine for the overall development of the game. He has the best map mobility on top of one of the strongest anti loop powers in the game.
This will always make him problematic when killer overall is balanced out. Same with nurse.
Styptic is fine imo, but if you say otherwise, I'm listening to your take. Syringe makes the healing action completely unnecessary and therefore the survivors a LOT more efficient at the simple press of a button. Loadout should not have this much of an impact.
I mean Billy has all of that as well plus an instant down on top of it and yet you didn't mention him as a rework candidate. Nerfing his add-ons and taking away hug tech already nerfed both his map mobility and anti loop power in order to make him more manageable, so for the current state of the game he's in a fine enough state. Other killers definitely possess a more unhealthy design than him whom I think should be looked at first before looking at Blight again.
Styptic is just an free extra hit if the survivors time right it which can go up to extra 4 hits overall if all survivors bring it. It's literally a DH that last 10x longer, doesn't cause exhaustion nor depends on the hook state and DH is already still a meta perk as it is. Syringe has more counterplay in my opinion but I think it'd be a fair nerf for the passive heal to stop stacking with speed healing add-ons so it'd always be a net 16 seconds passive heal.

I always find kinda interesting that people hate Knight while Artist does the same as him at loops but much better.
Knight: Go into a loop - use power - survivor goes into next loop as soon as he sees you using it - you have no power in next loop
Artist: Go into a loop - use power - survivor goes into next loop as soon as he sees you using it - use power again in next loop
In both of them if you stay on the loop you get hit by the power anyways.
It's probably cause of her low pick rate, if people went against her more often I believe there would definitely be more complaints towards her. If Skull Merchant was as rare to face as Artist people wouldn't probably complain that much about her either.
-
Deja Vu is whatever honestly but toolboxes definitely deserve nerfs. SWFs stacking 4 toolboxes with their best add-ons is as big of a problem as top tier killers stacking 4 slow down gen and thus should be tackled accordingly.

In my ideal dbd, slowdown perks can't be stacked. The load out allows for one slowdown and the other 3 slots are open for other stuff.
Nurse receives a rework to her outdated power and Blight receives nerfs to his basekit. Plagues addons receive heavy nerfs.
Toolboxes are put in line to not have something like a commodeus toolbox that is just undeniably better than all the others. BNPs don't exists. A Gen cannot be completed faster than 70s.
Killer has an early game mechanic to be able to build up pressure naturally.
DS becomes basekit to punish tunneling.
Spreading hooks is rewarded with (something).
Maps like Gideon meat plant and garden of joy receive heavy reworks.
Map offerings get deleted.
No more syringe. Styptic is fine.
Killer sees swf in post game screen.
If anything I'd remove Styptic over Syringe. Also even if I don't like him I think Blight is fine enough as he is now that they've removed all of his busted add-ons and hug tech as of the next patch, more nerfs on top of these would just create another Freddy/overheat Billy situation and I think we should be avoiding that scenario.

I think there are a lot of good things in the Dev Update and the Nerfs and Buffs to Killers are all good without really making them too strong or too weak. So complaining about "What about…" or "You nerfed X, but not Y" is not the right thing to do IMO.
Even tho I would agree on both, especially Pyramid Heads tunneling potential.
I mean Artist and Pyramid Head are literally older killers than Chucky and Wesker respectively and yet were left completely unchanged, I think they deserve for someone to bring attention to them.

Not saying you are "bad" in some general sense, just that you don't understand or know enough about Twins gameplay if you genuinely hold those beliefs.
I sincerely hope that the community will "prove you right" by not being up in arms about this change, because the only way I can see that happen is if still nobody plays Twins. And it's unfortunate that I have to hope for that now because I for one have always enjoyed playing against Twins. And as Twins for that matter, which will also be less engaging now, because of how mindless it is.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3706575#Comment_3706575
I am relieved to hear that, thank you for coming in to clarify.
Another Twins change you might not be aware of and that might be unintended: Victor now moves faster after a successful hit, making him harder to kick. He also appears with a white outline during this time, suggesting that he cannot be kicked (which he however can), which to me makes it seem even more likely that his movement speed during this time is a bug.
To use this comment for something productive, here is my suggestion for a Twins balance adjustment: Make it so that Victor again latches onto downed survivors as well as injured survivors. This stops the slugging machine and provides survivors more downtime, while enabling Charlotte to more reliably pick up a survivor Victor downed. To compensate for this nerf, you could then reduce the time-to-recall (when latched onto an injured or downed survivor) from what used to be 30 seconds to 20 or 15, since you'll then have double the downtime. Alternatively, instead of the reduction in recall time, you could compensate for the nerf by giving Charlotte that 10% Haste buff whenever Victor is latched on again, making her more of a threat than just a barebones M1 killer.
None of that is necessarily, just make it so Charlotte can teleport to Victor when he's latched on a downed survivor. The cooldown when he's latched on a downed survivor should also be 10 instead of 30 so Charlotte can use him immediately after she hooks the downed survivor.

PoTD moves 3x faster than a hatchet, pp head doesn’t vocalize his attack and nor does he have a map wide sound of it hitting full power and nor does he have a 3 second wind up time. The power goes through walls as well and the red line is almost completely indicate if he aimed right in the first place. NOT TO MENTION he is WAAAAY better at zoning than Huntress and receives almost zero penalty for canceling his M2 or missing PoTD. And yes perma tier 3 Meyers is very strong so it’s fair to compare to plague but just imagine perma tier 3 Meyers having a 12 meter lunge and that is essentially plague. Case closed.
He doesn't need a map wide sound on a max 10,5 meters range attack which is already telegraphed plenty on the ground on where exactly is gonna hit survivors even through walls.

My name is irrelevant look past your own bias and realize your experience on her is no where near mine and I am a much better authority on her skill cap. And if you want to ignore that then go ahead because Otzdarva agrees with me in this regard too.
Otz only put Huntress literally one spot lower than Pyramid Head and that was before her buffs. I guess if he decides to put Huntress above Pyramid Head in his next tier list then we're gonna end all discussions about it cause his opinion is the only one that matters apparently.

Plague is very strong without corrupt purge as she is a 115 killer who can essentially insta down everyone, and insta downs from range with corrupt as long as survivors are broken which they almost always will be. PP heads attack is LESS telegraphed than Huntress as it doesn’t have a map wide full power sound, nor does he vocalize his attacks, and RoJ moves much faster and goes under objects/ through walls. Not to mention he is the god of tunneling and denying survivor perks lol.
Pyramid Head's range literally has a red line in the ground that shows survivors exactly where it's gonna hit them so arguing that it's less telegraphed than Huntress' hatchets is literally embarrassing lol. Also it only has like 10,5 meters of range when using his 2 best add-ons that you're gonna use every single game cause all of his other add-ons are literal garbage. Also in exchange for denying survivors' meta perks he denies killers' meta perks as well aka Pain Res, Pop, Grim Embrace, Dead Man's Switch, etc., so a quick tunneling with the cages can result in an even quicker gen rush to compensate for it.
And I'm not even gonna start on what you said about Plague cause if a 115% killer who can instant down everyone was truly that strong than Myers would be considered top tier.
-
Chucky should be a tier lower and Skull Merchant should be in A tier instead of Clown. Also Oni should definitely be above Deathslinger at least (and maybe even Huntress).

Feels really, really small for an entire mid chapter update. Hopefully we still have the “recall Victor at any time”, meaning no longer can Victor be taken hostage. As well as the reduced stun on downing a survivor with them. If we have all that as well Twins should feel much better for newer players wanting to try them. Unfortunately just jumping in a locker will still be a thing though.
Could you recall Victor from a downed survivor in the PTB ? I don't really remember. If not, then you probably won't be able to recall them from an injured one as well.

Arguably trickster might be stronger than her, at least before the buffs to huntress.
Trickster is in a weird limbo cause for as often as his power feels very oppressive it can feel like a total waste of time instead of simply M1ing the survivors, but tbh I'm not sure if even a God Huntress would be able to gag Hens' SWF the way a God Trickster did it, so you may not be off with your reasoning.

I know lol I never said she wasn’t popular, she’s just outdated and people won’t admit it. Slowest killer in the game when holding a hatchet. Slower than Nurse. On TOP of being 110. And having the THIRD LOWEST kill rate in the game at TOP 5% MMR.
Crazy to me the Pyramid head can hit people through walls and moves at 110 while using RoJ, Plague being 110 while holding Corrupt Purge, Artist being 115 and having unbeatable anti loop and so on. I could rant about it forever tbh. She’s not bad by any means but she definitely needed a QoL change for her speed
Corrupt Purge literally needs to be stronger than hatchets cause of how much more restrictive Plague's power is compared to Huntress', if it were weaker than them Plague would be incredibly underpowered.
Pyramid Head only has barely above 10 meters of range when using his best (and quite literally his only useful) add-ons which is also literally a telegraphed attack to survivors before it hits them, zoning for days is literally the only thing this man's got in a chase against good survivors.
Artist 100% needs nerfs (as I've already said in a post) but cause of how unpopular she is nobody else cares about her.
-
@HexHuntressThighs said:
A dev responded to me on my “survivors kill themselves on hook” post and said it’s purely feedback for why they changed her back. Too many people complaining made them revert it. There is no reason for her to be so slow, I’ve made several videos proving why her being that slow makes zero sense.
Indoor/ cluttered maps affect her more than any other ranged killer. One of two killers Having to leave chase and find a locker to reload. Being forced to M1 at 30% of the loops in the game. There is a reason why Shiny Pin has an insanely high pick rate and it will be like that permanently because she is unbearable without it. I could go on for ages but it doesn’t matter because survivors would rather go against Nurse, Chucky, Wesker and Blight over and over instead of a slightly stronger Huntress who has more counter play than any of the other killers I listed. I would’ve rather had the speed than the extra hatchets. In the last stats posted by BHVR Huntress literally had the second highest pick rate in the game after Chucky and that was even before her buffs, she's not suffering from being an unpopular pick at all lol.
-
And yet she's literally still stronger than both Deathslinger and Trickster lmao, she's not the one that needs help out of these 3 by far.
-
People be sleeping on Unknown, Tru3 thinks he's a top tier killer and he has huge standards for killers (to the point he thinks Chucky's a weak killer) so you know he wouldn't be arguing about a killer being strong unless they're truly are.

Well either you fix the survivors Hitboxes so they can’t loop and make her hatchets boxes smaller or you leave it lol. When they made her hatchet boxes smaller last time, it would literally go through the survivor models face and not hit.
or you could make them smaller but then she would have to be 115, carry 12-16 hatchets and maybe make hatchets an insta down past 24 meters since people who had 5-10,000 hours on her alone couldn’t hit anything. As for the other ranged killers; Deathslinger can use M1 Perks, stealth perks, can avoid pallet saves, pull survivors away from safety and deep wounds them. Trickster has main event which can give more downs especially with certain add ons on top of being 115 and using M1 perks very well. Pyramid head can hit through walls, is 115, can use stealth and M1 perks, can avoid flashy saves, pallet saves, insta kill survivors and can fake an into into an M1 with no cooldown. Artist can cross map hit through walls making clutter on maps irrelevant, and can use birds to gain info or pressure gens from far.
If you don’t see another reason to play any ranged killer besides Huntress you should watch some videos on the other ranged killers. If Pyramid Head is a ranged killer then we might as well consider Nemesis and Xeno as ranged too.
-
According to the stats Dead Hard is still in top 10 for most used survivors perks which means it's still used a lot which leads to killers respecting it.

Wonky hit-boxes that are killer-sided, a power that can encourage a tunnelling play style that a lot of people default to because it's the "easiest" playstyle to play, an infection mechanic that gives 8% hindered that doesn't pause while in chase, literally can cover ground as fast as you can gain on him.
Yeah, sure balanced. and I'm saying this as a killer main.
I mean I'm facing a lot and I mean A LOT of Weskers and frankly he's just not all of that, most of them still just 1 or 2k, so I'd hardly call him unbalanced. Frankly a Tombstone Myers feels more oppressive to me than a Wesker at this point.
-
Out of all the ranged killers you're really gonna complain about these two but completely ignore Artist, aka the top 5 killer who barely has any counterplay in chase ? Be fr now.

Annnd here we go...knew the day was coming...
Artist is normal speed because when aiming for longer shots, it takes a double tap to actually injure, unlike huntress who takes 1 no mater how far. Artist only injures at once when close up. In addition lockers can immediately remove swarms making most long distance shots hard to anyone who knows what their doing (luckily for us most dont). While its somewhat map dependent, you can actually loop an artist by chaining tiles. Staying at 1 tile and trying to loop isn't going to work, but if you can chain tiles though she'll be effectively an m1 killer. She places you bolt to new tile, she places, back to old tile. Old and new shelter woods and her own map are ones that can do this (least for us). The reason people keep holding w? Its the easiest way to buy time, thats effectively true with all killers.
If you run into a placed crow, her timer also continues down meaning she has a shorter window to place and aim depending on how many shes placed already. This means that if this change were to go through, when she places more than 1 crow thats not set up in a convoluted way (in essence it would be 1 at the loop to swarm and 1 or 2 aimed at where the survivor would be when they get swarmed. Thats 9-12 seconds for the cooldown for that hit, not counting add on [shes got only 1 add on for firing crows cd], the set up time that can easily be deleted by teammates, the time to get to that loop from survivors holding m1 anyway, etc.), survivors would be able to remove the swarm before she can even try to land a hit.
We like her kit because its one of the most versatile in dbd not the most horrendous. Just because people do play her the dull way doesn't make her kit bad.
So her kit isn't bad cause of people using it for dull tactics even though the kit itself is the one that allows for such dull tactics to begin with ? Alright then. And the only other real counterplay you could come up against her with is map and RNG dependent, cause otherwise she just transforms the game into the hold W key simulator for both the survivor and the killer.
