Eh, the Perk is really not that good. From BHVRs Data we know that the average Chase Time per Survivor per Match is around 80 seconds or something like that.

If we consider that a Survivor gets 3 Chases and cut this time in half (since Quick Gambit deactivates after losing a Health State), the Survivor provides 40 seconds of quick gambit. So if my math is corret, the Survivor with Quick Gambit provides a total reduction of Gen Time of 4,3 seconds per Survivor, so at max. around 13 seconds overall are saved.

    This is not much.

ah thanks for breaking down the math for me. I appreciate that! You’re a real one aven. my theorizing is alternate time lines though where someone is in the studio hitting remixes to the point it would dethrone blight and they’re doing it often and causing straight up pitchforks everywhere else. 13 seconds overall, no big deal. Entering catastrophic, pound the alarm. I don’t want to go back. I want to move forward for overall UX(user experience). I’m like like 2-3 moves away practicing string theory, and Murphys law. If something has to take the hit quick gambit straight up. Newer players have trouble with gens and Strat breaking, so I would prefer quick gambit to save the majority from themselves, especially if people are going which one when looking at friendly competition.

  • yeah that one is kind of cracked. It’s good if one person has it, if people know what they’re doing, it sucks and laughable when people can’t hold up in chase. I’d probably nerf if you start noticing a bunch of people stacking it in the highest mmr, Sometimes killers like to chase good survivors to get better, and I don’t think they should be punished heavily for learning. For every 1 god tier killer there’s like 5 that won’t break a pallet when they should. I would keep my eye on this one. It is super situational though due to variety.

  • idk I’ve found when I’m trying things that don’t work out my bp sucks. other times when what I’m trying is working my bp looks really good, and yeah. Those are my thoughts and input. Some things work okay, some things work better, some things make me feel like oof that was a bad theory to test.

I’m escaping against him a satisfiable amount or at least if I’m not escaping a person or people are on my team, and that’s still a win in my book. It hardly ever ends in hatch, or a total 4k. These are my findings.

I’ve seen myself and others share information that is beneficial, ultimately I feel like he’s mostly fine outside of through walls/objects. That’s where I stand right now. I imagine this isn’t even my final form or theirs. I like that ghoul boy.

I know there is a sea of people asking for nerfs, but I’d start with “through wall hitting” or some tweaks like others suggested. Make the ghoul good though please. This makes me feel like when people were at distortions throat even though I knew there was tons of counters. He has flaws. I don’t think he should be nerfed just because people can’t adapt.

I can’t read weskers to save my life, but I know that’s a me issue because I have friends that know how to counter him and I’ve seen it done. I’m telling you he’s good, but not flawless.

Similar to nurse, the amount of people that don’t get it are never going to get it, and she’s proof of that. Someone else at the top brackets to face please, I beg you.

I’m not even the entity’s favorite looper and I’m getting out against this ghoul, Tbf I’m a goblin though. I’ve played with cautionary Mary before, not recently and you should believe her too. She’s a good survivor, she’s smart. I keep seeing we are coming to similar conclusions on what to do against him in most cases.

I have another friend that’s a good survivor and she said the same things, he’s good but not flawless, some tweaks. Please BHVR let him be good. Yes killer mains/both siders will be getting a good killer, but I’ll also be getting an exciting opponent that requires different gameplay to test me.

So what if he is easier to play as? So what if he is s tier or a tier or b tier? For the love of the entity A or better please. All hail the entity.

Edited for grammar. Sometimes I don’t have the time to fix the draft, my apologies.

  • Give me a reason, one the other, both. Idc. I’ll play who’s got better reads with you, it’s more fun than all around the mulberry bush, sometimes. I like facing nurse on cold wind, Macmillan, anywhere pretty open really.

I like rift skin Sally with the white wedding head and I don't use perks you're nurse who needs em!

stop it before you get my arch nemesis and best friend nerfed. I’ve been hearing and seeing she’s already bugged.

  • has anyone tried full stealth and trying not to get in chase at all? Just asking, because if you can’t out run him, maybe the trick is total evasion until found?

  • Tell em to buff stealth and fix your bugs, I’ll give you a run for your money 😘

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/441753/why-do-the-devs-make-bad-perks

Deep down, part of me genuinely believes they are only allowed to make one perk that people actually want to use, and they have to make the other two perks suck to compensate for that. But the issue is that when they miss the mark with their golden perk, it’s all a wash.

Tools of Torment dropped nine dukies into the perk pool. Thalita can be argued as the worst survivor or the most expendable because her perks are sooooo baaad.

if I may interject I think friendly competition and power of two are great support picks if you’re building out around body blocking and tunnel denial, or even just a support placement for a critical gen to break a 3-gen. Yes spacing out is the move at the start, but if you’re not on a 4man and someone 3-gens you friendly competition sings here. I will not tolerate this slander.

    You lose distance.

Not only do you lose distance. If you have something like lithe, even after you have cleared the pallet, you lose that as well.

You're also ignoring context. Other killers cant just hop right after you after an M1 as fast as he does.

Whats actually funny is he doesnt hop after you, he hops ahead of you.

So maybe you're right you dont lose distance. As you never gained any to begin with.

I’ve faked a couple out trying to do things like just that. Gotta be better at reading me than I am at reading you if you’re going to use your hops , got your nose🤘

I didn’t push it because it’s not an appealing feature for me personally. If it’s chill it’s chill, and if it gets more challenging and they don’t let up I can take out my earrings.

I think its more the question around the, all survivors disconnecting one.

Lets say that i slug all 4 survivors, and they all abandon, so they get counted as a loss. But now, the entire game is all bots, so if i leave the game do i also lose? If so i could see this being not so great as it defaltes MMR for everyone in the game Whereas normally MMR is (at least a little bit) zero sum.

yeah that will probably devolve into a thing. Maybe it shouldn’t affect mmr.

  • Idk couldn’t tell you , but

Resi is a lot better than finesse against the ghoul. The amount of missed attacks im getting is really nice and makes some pallet with checkspots really safe. Also makes it most of the time pointless for him to vault over a pallet bc he will not get the hit.

And you can do faster gens if the ghoul is proxy-camping and only injuring everyone. Also nice to use it with a 99% heal (medkit), so the ghoul doesnt use his power and you then heal in his face.

I also play with object of obsession but thats just do get the chase bc its funny to loop him.

i absolutely agree in terms of stealthing vs. aura perks and that's why i vouched so hard for Nurse's synrrgy with aura perks to be nerfed, such as something like blindness on blink charging. In current state, hits are way too free with perks like Nowhere to Hide and Predator.

fair enough I’m more on the buff train than nerf train, but you make very valid points and that would be one way to do it. Counter offer, no nerfs to those and buff the survivor stealth/info , alert needs to be longer(it is actually pitiful), restore spine chill, and give distortion 3 tokens. Don’t nerf the killer perks, and just leave players to their own vices that way they can’t say they don’t have the tools.

Oh and buff face the darkness timer as a show of good faith in return for the alert boost. I’m not trying to counter myers(buff m1 stealth killers), we also want old made for this back, I’m open to negotiations on this one , I know ptsd, but we also have ptsd. So maybe there’s something there that can be bargained in you get this if we get this. I’m trying to counter full aura range and s tier killers that you can’t sneeze without them being up your bum on these ridiculously small maps that we have to have because of m1s. What I’m saying is I get it. I’m open to negotiating. Will you guys please select your bravest warrior built on diplomacy to step forward. I’m willing to take one for the team on survivor side to get a ball rolling instead of a circular discussion that just leads to everyone’s toys being taken away.

What do you think about that? Or do I sound like a survivor traitor saying help killers if you give us this. I’m just saying people like busted things, let them break the game. Girls just wanna have fun or whatever that saying is.

  • Thank you. It is very much appreciated 🫶

But I am still missing the correlation with this and finesse

My bad sorry I mispoke in a previous comment, I’m sleepy. I was using finesse with exhaustion to take windows, insert bond and open handed and it just worked. Idk really what to tell you other than I was pre-running. A faster window is a faster window. Also can be used to take a pallet or window to get between the killer and who they’re chasing for a body block if you can stick the landing and timing. I hope that clarifies some things. Again I’m sleepy. There’s more ways to use finesse than just trying to beat the ghoul at the window in a chase when you’re the one in chase.

I’m not saying I’m a god and never get hit. I’m just saying I’m trying things and sometimes they’re working. I didn’t have access to the ptb since I’m PlayStation, so like I’m just information sharing what perks are helping since I’m seeing the word nerf thrown around, situations and perk stringing varies on what you’re trying to do. I’m trying to get my team to the exit gates. I don’t even know what happens when you push abandon, because yeah I figured out how to do it with finesse instead. Lara been Croft, plates say chun- li , drop the Benz off.

Are you confusing bond with self-care? I do not see how bond comes into play here since all bond does it let you see other survivors when you are close enough to them.

open handed helps bond. You can replace for empathy but that’s only for injured survivors. Use situational awareness and hud to help put pieces together. The perks won’t play the game for you, but they help. I’ve noticed people running kindred help a lot too. Make sure you’re paying attention to not 3 genning yourselves. Best of luck out there!

don’t be shy, share! (I’m having a rough time versing Ghoul and need all the help and tips I can get lol)

if you’re using bond you can pre run and take a window with finesse, if you are near one. It’s not super consistent since you’ll have to make sure you’re taking time to reset to get the finesse value, but that plays back into bond, but it’s better than giving freebies and trying to gen rush. Sure you’re losing some gen time but he’s counterable, you just have to play smart. In what I would call a normal match at least one person is making it out where people are collectively thinking their plays through. Open handed is also good.

I wouldn’t recommend finesse since you can still get hit through windows and over pallets with his power. Also because being healthy means nothing against this killer since the first hit is guaranteed

mmmm I have thoughts but I’ll keep them to myself for some ghouls sake , but it’s on my list for a reason.

But yeah some hits are guaranteed, I agree.

He's not really that oppressive that I find, but I am running a build that directly counters him and gives me speed (both in chase and when I'm potentially getting tunneled).

you just literally answered your own question with counters "not related only to Nurse".

Her counterplay relies in MACRO more than MICRO gameplay because she is such a macro oriented killer. That's why you will not see her counterplay being similar to counterplay to e.g. Blight, Spirit or Billy. And guess what, quite a big portion of players have bad macro knowledge.

And as i said, thinking Nurse is uncounterable purely relies on the "if killer can be countered in chase = counterable, otherwise uncounterable) mindset.

She has worse map traversal than Billy, Blight, Oni and now Kaneki btw.

As the group wild card I understand you completely, and you’re super correct but a stealth meta from survivors(especially when it gets so much hate from survivors in house and labeled as selfish and full aura range killers) in mass to counter specifically nurse when you’re more likely to see Billy or blight at the bracket where she’s most potent, she’d have to be a much higher pick rate, or killers that require that kind of counter play would have to become so popular it forces a meta shift to open eyes.

The counterplay difference between blight/billy and nurse is huge, and you’re so correct when you say it takes a level of macro most people won’t measure up to, or refuse to due to preferences. You got my upvote, we speak the same language though. She’s a tough one to balance I imagine because on one hand 2 blinks feels underwhelming to go against, and on the other 3 blinks and majority folds, and stealth isn’t a popular pick because most people are chase over strat, but that’s not how you counter nurse. It’s really no surprise most people struggle against it.

  • @Minibeasty said:

I'm not entirely sure if I understand your first question, but I'll give it a go. Feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken.

"Do you think my observations, with anonymous mode off, are in alignment with your experience?"

When people are under the influence of strong emotions they tend to become irrational, players in dbd are no exception. Admitting that you yourself made a mistake and therefor lost the chase is not something these players are likely to do, it's simply easier to blame it on external factors. External factors can sometimes be the reason you lost, but in many cases it is not. I personally do not engage with these people since their opinion about me or my gameplay is irrelevant to me.

"How often are you exposed to hate, anger and frustration if you play without anonymous mode on?"

I play on pc with endgame chat enabeled, despite this I think most people are pretty chill. Their either say "gg", compliment eachother, or simply move on with their lives. Toxicity and hate are rare to me, but it does happen… just not very often.

"What tools could we give to a players to reduce th events that frustrated the player to express anger. e anger of another player, or circumvent additional anger from being generated? To prevent the balloon from expanding? Our goal here should be to emotionally get to the point"

Whatever led to their outbust is irrelevant in my opinion, their emotional turmoil is not your or anyone elses problem. What we can do is to ignore it or wish them luck in their next game. As I said, many of these players are irrational and having a discussion with them is usually a waste of time. At the end of the day they have to take responsibilty for their own actions, emotions and how they treat others.

"How else can I change someone's belief in DBD without making myself a victim of someone else's wrath?"

You can't, not unless the player in question is willing to listen or change their mind. Sometimes I try to offer some ecouragement, or ask if they perhaps should play something else for a while since they're clearly not enjoying themselves. This is usually met with something like "I would enjoy this game if people like you didn't ruin it", so I usually just ignore them.

Taking breaks when this game starts to feel stressfull really does wonders and have helped me enjoy it alot more.

You basically took the words right out of my mouth. I heavily second this.

I mean it helps with setup it helps with chase, it just needs an audio queue, a targetting outline (of where the trap will end up being setup) and a couple more numbers decided (how long it takes before the trap arms ect) and he has a new part of his kit that lets you add fluidity to your gameplay where you chose to use it, trap setup, mid chase, ect

That honestly sounds like a really fun idea! I’m down for him to get some love in that direction to make his kit more versatile. I think if they just close out letting trappers trap the exit gate handle(because some of these door spawns are absolute unwiped butt cheeks traversal alone is enough, and trapping it is overkill/kind of spoon feedy) then heck yeah breathe a little more life into him. That sounds awesome, and I’m open to change on my end as survivor. Obviously if it’s too much it can be dialed as needed, but yeah I’m open to that.

FPS game logic does not apply so yes your opinion isn’t worth the same. The ranged killers in this game have wind up times in the seconds whereas shooters are in 1/4th of a second. These ranged killers are also projectile based meaning there weapons have travel time. FPS games consist almost entirely of Hitscan which means no leading at all, as soon as you pull the trigger you hit your target if your on it.

None of the ranged killers in this game are strong enough to warrant even more nerfs to them. The best is Huntress and almost every single person who plays this game at a high level puts her in B Tier at best. New survivors need to get better not have the game dumbed down to match them.

1,400 hours isn’t a lot for a game that’s been out nearly a decade. And if you haven’t played ranged killers at all or even a little than no, you shouldn’t be suggesting things like that. You should run that idea by people who play ranged killers a lot and at high levels to see what they think of you don’t want to play them and find out for yourself.

FPS game logic does apply when you’re trying to give him things that an FPS has. The fact that he doesn’t have those things is what makes him different from an FPS I agree, but you going he should be buffed to act like an fps but don’t look at him like an fps if you give him those things makes 0 sense. Like think that through.

Ya know with your logic about new players not having the game dumbed down to them there’s sooo many things that could be walked back that were implemented on both sides that are just the most hand holding things I’ve ever seen. Example the huntress buff that happened, it gave already highly skilled huntresses more time because they had to go to lockers less to reload, while I against lower skill levels was expected to dodge all those hatches even when they couldn’t land a single one, I would say it probably helped them the most because they didn’t have to repeatedly go to lockers to learn cutting down that pain point , but my difficulty was increased on both ends as a survivor to account for that. I know some killers think time is only important for their side, but seconds on survivor side makes a huge difference too. B tier is fine, would say B tier killers are the most fair killers in the game because they fit most people’s skill level after a certain threshold of playing. If they make every killer S tier and don’t look at anything for survivor or matchmaking if you’re not a survivor god you might as well not even play this game if you want to take this game seriously, you’ll just be fodder all the time and need 10000 hrs to “git good”, again this is putting all the expectation of learning solely on survivor.

I don’t need to run it by ranged killers, it’s ranged killers responsibility to give their feedback from their perspective. It’s my job to give survivor feedback because I’m giving a survivor perspective to these proposals. I’m more likely to try to find common ground with someone that’s trying to meet in the middle than someone that’s just out to curb stomp the majority of the player base for “feel goods” at other people’s expense. You make your case, I’ll make mine. Additionally I think everyone’s opinion matters even if they downloaded the game yesterday, or made a career out of playing the game. Anyways that’s my opinion, and we differ one whose opinion matters. I think everyone’s does to paint full pictures, and in a lot of cases there’s meeting in the middle for improving quality for the “feels good” while rewarding skill/knowledge on both sides.

If you only listen to a specific subset of people that’s how false narratives and one sided perspectives get pushed that lead to great harm, gestures at history, video game culture is no exception to this when discussing nerfs or buffs. That’s just the way biased data works when you cut out other perspectives. I encourage people to pick up a book that pertains to discussions, debates, and speech. It’s what I do when I’m not playing this game in my free time, because I strive to be a well rounded individual. Have a good day Bodark.

Nurse HAS counters, it's just the problem that average players try to seek counters for her in...chase. You don't play for chases against Nurse, same as with Oni in power for example (Nurse is weaker than Oni in power btw). Counters against Nurse are prerunning, LoS cutting and stealthing, going to a corner when you are about to get downed is an actual macro counter against every killer, Nurse too.

Only problem that truly makes her problematic and actually removes quite a portion of counterplay is her synergy with aura reading perks and that's easily fixable by making her suffer from Blindness during blink charging.

^ great advice works against most nurses

Traps resetting every 2 seconds just makes him kind of boring, its really just disarm to get through a trap not disarm a trap to make a loop safe for a bit also its iridescent stone, also you can't really do that because of exit gates. You would need to disarm the trap to maybe get ~1s of progress on the door before needing to disarm it again, done right its a 90s exit gate, done wrong its a free down, done very wrong its a new gimmick build

fair enough if that’s how you feel, and yeah exit gate trapping is a thing. I wasn’t even thinking about gate trapping. Genuine question, how would buff him?

  • great idea!

  • Possibly a hot take but I think some of the brown add ons could be turned into one that functions like one that lets traps reset every 2 seconds, I wanna say honing stone? It’s been a minute since I played trapper with his addons, but like just add more time to like every 15 seconds, 20 seconds, or 30 seconds.

Don’t shoot survivor mains, but some of his kit is gimmicky at best because of certain maps. I know this is tagged for killers, but that’s kind of just my survivor opinion.

Precisely why i want to see them go. They are usually used more as a bullying tactic to "disagree" with someone rather than to show that they made a good or a bad post. When someone spends time to provide a well thought out comment people can just "down vote" it without actually engaging in the topic and discussion at hand. Precisely why i just disabled them in my browser so i can't see them. Did the same with reddit to a while back.

The theory behind them is fine, if someone makes a thought out constructive post, you upvote it, showing that it was a good post, whereas if someone is spamming you down vote it to show that it was just spam and note a useful post.

The problem is that people can make a post that says "I like Strawberry ice cream, and here is why" and someone comes in and just says "ew i don't like strawberry icecream" and downvotes it, without actually realizing that the person just made a post about something they like, just because you don't like it doesn't mean their post was bad.

very well put. Honestly yeah a lot of people don’t deserve the mass amount of downvotes they get when they’re one of the few people *cough daniel* that take the time to write out constructive feedback even if I disagree with parts of it or all of it. They still obviously pour a lot in, and give well articulated arguments, and are pretty respectful, and I’d rather be on the forums talking to them than some ad hominem poster that thinks their opinions are the only one that matters.

At least I can have a conversation with Daniel that doesn’t make me want to roll my eyes and disconnect my brain from reading what he has to say because it is a solid perspective on things, unlike some people where it’s just like you literally have to take the high road every single time you talk to them.

Crow Perk only works if a survivor is inside a TR when a killer scares a bird; this allows calm spirit users to use the crow perk mid chase. Your teammates won't find the perk as useful since they scare the birds themselves . Then you also need Eyes of Belmont since you can quite literally blink and miss the aura

I’ll have to try that out. Any suggestions for the fourth? Calm spirit , treacherous, eyes of Belmont and maybe open handed?

"Page 3361" "Old Discussion" "Would become Clown and Kate"

I joined DBD right when that was happening. I'm not old, am I?

    :(

no that’s when I joined too, right before clown and Kate released. Because my friend kept going on and on about this game so I got it, and a month or so later curtain call dropped, and I was obsessed with the way they teased the community about the next chapters. It’s why I initially joined the forums.

  • I think the downvotes are hilarious, but maybe that’s a hot take, I don’t mind them, but ultimately idc if they stay or go. I really only hit the down button when someone is being unnecessarily rude.

@Mushwin Remember when you had the most downvotes first time they introduced this? It was hilarious ngl.

It's still funny when people get randomly downvoted for anything they say even non dbd related. It's memey and has comedic value that this forum lacks, not to be taken seriously.

I have to say @danielmaster87 seems to be the current champion tho, @Mushwin is dethroned.

do you remember when that epicfailtryhard person would also get down voted into oblivion!!! Yeah they’re bullying daniel though! Sometimes it’s sound advice or feedback too and I’m just like genuinely confused why he got downvoted.

  • You’re funny, this is the kind of feedback that keeps me on the forums sometimes. Unfortunately it’s a dog eat dog world out there, I suggest playing with other people to gain skills and comprehension that no YouTube video or streamer is going to cover.

  • @hermitkermit
Thanks, it was just something I pieced together off the feedback in here from other people’s thoughts. Team work makes the dream work.

I do not work for BHRV I’m just a dbd enthusiast that just so happens to be in it/communications. Yeah though it all came from everyone’s input though, and I applied some critical thinking to it to give their ideas form. I just drew some sticks. It was all them really.

I did not draw the drone, but I too found it hilarious!💙

  • thanks I hope it helps and you guys get your wish, because it’s doable imo without peeving anyone off.

I took a 6 month break and just returned last month doing survivor only and back to my killer main yesterday. It's nice to come back with a fresh pair of eyes.

it’s absolutely fresh eyes that’s for sure. I took a break too and sometimes it’s exactly what you need.

Its pretty much mandatory if you actually like to run the perk, like calm spirit is to Treacherous Crows. I think Still sight is decent, but the opportunity cost of half a build can be a tough ask when you don't know if your next killer is a Wraith

Yeah I was theorizing even then with open handed it’s still dependent on your team also running aura, and let’s be so fr with the majority perk picks lol. What is the synergy between treacherous crows and calm spirit? Because I feel like I’m missing it. Will you explain so I understand? Because I feel like I’m falling short following the thought process other than stealth building, even then I would probably go with iron will over calm spirit with treacherous crows. Ie like Resilience(or prove thyself), iron will, treacherous crows, insert something else like lightweight, distortion, or calm spirit. Calm spirit wouldn’t be my first string but definitely an option for a fourth pick. Honestly I think distortion or lightweight would still be the better fourth insert to do a treacherous crows build considering how high risk you are and they would offer more value consistently across matches, but calm spirit still a very solid choice to go with it. Where’s your head at?
