The fact that your example of them doing a patch that "nobody likes" is from almost three years ago is hilarious.

It doesnt matter, if there is none people can always fabricate wathever they want and pass it as proof.

I remember when Hillbilly got changed the forum and Reddit were swarmed with "HILLBILLY WAS PERFECT AND BALANCED, THE ONLY THING SURVIVOR AND KILLER MAINS AGREED 100%" and I was like "the heck you people are on" when reading them, Survivors really loved playing against Hillbilly pingponging his way around the map and getting instasawed for sure...

  • @KateDunson said:

They should do a game health update instead of releasing weak killers that none plays *coff the twins coff*

Pretty much this, last Killers have been underwhelming, poorly tested and designed (one having to be changed twice in the span of ¿3 months? and other 2 considered to be the worst experience to face against in the whole game) also Survivor Perks have been nothing but utter rubbish, for this kind of new content Id rather have 6 months straight with nothing but bug fixes, balance changes and paid cosmetics (they still need to make coin).

Its not that they dont know how to fix bugs or improve performance since bugs do get fixed (slowly) and the performance has improved (at least mine has, I dont get FPS stutters every time a perk or power is activated for the first time and its been ages since the last game crash I had) but they have way too much on their plate with current amount of problems plus new characters which in turn add new bugs.

  • Not a bad idea, it would need testing and adjusting but overall is something worth looking at from a design perspective.

  • Auric cells are money, they will never give money to players.

Lets say they give you enough Auric cells to buy Freddy Krueger, for every Freddy transaction they have to pay the license holders (or they should if the license holders werent that dumb to accept only an upfront payment) but you got the character for free so the money they have to give them comes from their pocket, it will never happen.

  • Because this game is inspired by tacky slasher films cliches and one of said cliches is healthcare workers being murderous psychos.

  • I do when I get stuff I find extremely unfunny and unfair, awful maps, matchmaking shenanigans or camping/proxy camping.

What qualifies for each of those categories?.

Unfunny and unfair would be stuff like Forever Freddy, Stridor Spirit, the squad of Neas with 4 flashlights that didnt came to fix gens (even if I get the 4K), I would put in this category cheese tactics IF they dont need any real effort and have close to 0 counterplay (4k as Stridor Spirit is easy, getting 4 escapes as SWF against a lower skilled Killer requires nothing too).

Awful maps are Midwich, The Game, Mother's Dwelling and Hawkins, even if I was playing a build/Killer that benefits a lot from any of those, Midwich always get 0 points and if Im Killer I go afk (sadly I cant do that as Survivor for I would be dragging 3 innocents with me).

Matchmaking and camping speak for themselves, getting paired against people way better/worse than me and getting stomped or stomping can be fun for 1 or 2 matches but it grows boring very fast.

  • So have I, is not that hard, anyone saying is not possible is either very bad at this game or plays 1 match a day tops.

  • In a chase you dont counter him, either he misses or he doesnt but there isnt much you can do against a decent Deathslinger, landing a hit is on his end not yours.

The only thing you can do to extend the chase a bit is going LoS as much as you can and having a very long headstart, the very moment you see him coming and you are positive he saw you, start running so it takes him more time to catch up and maybe try to juke him on a high wall obstacle.

  • Stealth and split genrushing, he is one of the best chasers and one of the worst at everything else, the best counter is exploiting how bad his map pressure is and never let him start chases, so stealth and genrush.

  • @ByNWR said:

So am I supposed to believe that a bug CASUALLY made bushes appear on SPECIFIC spots in the worst map for killers to make it even worse and create the new super infinite loops? Dudes... hahaha

Well a bug made rocks appear in certain pallets in Yamaoka maps and The Game had a bug where a pallet could spawn in a position leading towards a closed door, so this can be a bug too.

  • Since we cant explore the timeline where they kept focusing on secondary objectives and ignored fixing bugs and balancing cant say how much of a blunder/success the other timeline's DBD is.

  • Problem with DS in general is he is a beast chasing, once he spots you, if he is good (not super good, just good) you are going down without much you can do, you may be able to extend the chase 10 seconds or so but thats all. Thats half of the problem, the other is since he is so good chasing he has to be bad at everything else, which he is, the guy who gets chased goes down fast but since he has no map pressure, no detection, no snowball potential (like Myers or Oni) and Survivors know all of this they are forced to genrush which he cant really stop.

Matches against him go like this, trial starts, he sees someone, shoots, Survivors hear the shot, start pushing gens, he downs someone, hooks him, then he has to find someone else and reach them, people know they cant afford to slow down for they cant last much against a good DS in a chase so they keep pushing gens, rinse and repeat until all 5 gens are done so in the end DS gets 1 or 2 kills and the last survivors open the gates and get away as soon as they can.

You cant buff his pressure because that would make him unstoppable, you cant nerf his chase because he is rubbish at everything else, what can you do?. In my opinion DS is failed game design.

People dont like Deathslinger because even if you escape, he makes for a very boring game, I rarely die against him unless my teammates attempt to play against him like he is a regular Killer but even when I escape it wasnt a very fun game anyway.

Tbf though if someones pc isnt performing the best it isnt there fault, for instance you cant fix a gpu problem if you dont have the money or people may not realise but what happens to me is I'm running low end parts but when the game updates the graphics go to ultra so it would freeze and black screen,so the lack of pc components isnt a reason someone should get a dc penalty if there was a way to prove it imo💁‍♂️

When you disconect you are ruining the game for other 4 people, one DC for having a low end PC is ok, it will give you a 45 seconds penalty its not that much, having a PC that cant run this game and crashing over and over its not the same and should be punishable.

  • I genrush when the Killer brings a mori, camps or is one of the Killers that I dont want to face like Spirit or Freddy.

I genrush when the Killer doesnt want anyone but himself to have fun

  • First of all, for me proxy camping is when the Killer is close to the hook with no obvious Survivors around, patrolling near it and beelining right after the unhook or when they see the saviour approaching, or if the Killer uses a long range teleport to reach the hook (Demogorgon, Freddy, Hag).

That being said here come my personal experiences, facecamping is rather rare, maybe 1 every 20 matches, tunneling usually 1 in every 4 matches (tough half the times its because the guy tunneled is either very bold, or very bad or gets farmed), proxy camping 1 in every 3 matches and almost always one of the high mobility Killers, Spirit being the worst offender.

PC rank fluctuates but usually around 1 and 3.

  • It takes a while to get decent at the game for it has a lot of mechanics not explained that can make the roles way way harder. You should play Survivor too for it will give you insight on what to do against a Killer and in turn it will teach you how to counter it.

Playing both roles make learning each of it exponentially easier, two very basic examples:

Killers are like fishes and are attracted to movement, you can avoid plenty of players by crouching still on certain places, they wont notice you a lot of times (its risky but very rewarding if you pull it), in turn with this info you can learn to how search for Survivors in a more efficient way, but you will never learn this by playing Killer only.

You can get a free hit and a pallet drop against a pallet camper if you walk to it backwards and before he can see you coming you lunge at them, theyll get hit and on top theyll probably drop the pallet too, then again you cant learn this by playing Killer alone.

P.D. If you have a really bad case of anxiety either you change your mindset about this game or you are in for a LOT of trouble, players in this game can be extremely trollish and bully the other side just because so if you are not going to take this as a party game like Among Us or Team Fortress 2 it may not be the right game for you.

  • I prefer cakes because burning streamers only to get tunneled or facecamped stings and while its not always it does happen. Thats the main reason I never use streamers as Survivor.

  • Krueger is 1,65 cms since thats his actor height.

  • Clown's could be something like bottles only trigger slow effect, no scream, no blur vision and no interrupt action or it could be the other way around, trigger everything except the slow.

  • If you get 48 hours on DC penalties odds are you probably deserve them, either you ragequit too much or you have a computer/conection issue and keep trying to play without fixing it.

  • I believe the licensed Killers with most cosmetics are the highest candidates for an Archive update, especially if they keep receiving them long after bein released.

  • I think its skins or maybe a slight change to something but not a rework.

  • You need 4 Survivors for 1 Killer, if they make the same amount of challenges for both sides it will lead to massive queues for Killers because people wouldnt finish them as fast as they do now and keep playing Killer, it already happened in the first tome. Thats also the reason why Survivor challenges are slower to get and farmier.

Where you see bias I see developers actually improving one of the mistakes they made with challenges at the beggining.

Like Arial said, Oni are made from evil humans. This does bring up the concept of religion (not our world religion) though...are there other beings in their universe? Obviously there’s the entity, but could there be others? Now, I’m basically knowledge-less on my Japanese mythology, so I don’t exactly know why they were turned into Oni. Oni was definitely wicked, but its weird how he wasn’t pure evil like many Oni are (he cared for his son and remorsed when he killed his father). So this brings up whether he was molded to look like an Oni with Oni powers, or if he’s a genuine mythological demon stolen right after death

I believe Onis in japanese folklore are spirits akin to western ogres but they do not originate from human souls (unlike some other evil spirits which do originate from certain people), they exist as evil spirits just because, like western gnomes, ogres, harpies etc.

  • OoO tends to attract a lot of heat from the Killer even if you are Solo so you should be up to the task if you want to run it.

  • Not exactly, Onis do not originate from humans and he was just a regular man, he was called oni by the townfolk for his brutal and violent tendencies so when the entity took him it made him into something similar to one. Like Spirit, she wasnt a ghost when the entity took her but it molded her into one.

  • People are now forced to play both roles at least to 35-65% difference (it wont happen but that would change the community so much...)

Buddy, anyone can throw that arguement right back at you.

Buddy Im not saying Survivor mains shouldnt play Killer too to have an open mind like everyone else so dont try to debunk my argument with a baseless "whataboutthis" retort, this thread is about opinions on Killer mindset not Survivor mindset, if you want a thread about that create one and ill post an almost exact copy of my message but changing Killer for Survivor.

i could have swore i was always able to cleanse that, eh they probably broke it when they released macmillian

As far as I know that totem used to be cleansable but maybe the update broke the spot.

  • I agree, Killers mains should change their mindset and they should also play Survivor at least to 30% of their games so they can have an open mind about whats ok and whats not and whats unbalanced and whats you are not that good of a Killer so dont expect to 4K people much better than you.

Also the whole "I switched to Survivor and is sooooo easy, I escape 100% at rank1 on Solo queue always" reeks of flat out lie.

  • First of all, I play Myers and I played him with the old Emblem system, the one which benefited inmensely if you didnt lose gens, especially if you didnt lose them early, they system made it very hard for low mobility Killers to reach rank1.

It took me 1 month to reach rank 3 once I started playing Killer more for I used to play only one match for the extra Iridiscents, then the system made it very time consuming to reach 1 so I didnt care, after the system was changed to dont punish low mobility Killers that much I reached rank1 in a matter of days.

create country filters and a mute button and you re safe but i repeat adjust difficulty after adding this in a way or the other depends of rate (kills and out)

What about countries with not many people playing? is not that easy, there are countries with few people who will suffer from very small comunity.

No, with all due respect, they don't. Killers have only themselves to blame for their failures. They delude themselves when they try to scapegoat their opponents or the company. :)

I know, it was a joke about all the whining from people about balance not acknowledging they may not be THAT good.

  • Hopefully far away, Im not in the mood for hearing some 12 year old (or a 30 year old behaving like he was 12) yelling in a language I dont understand because I live in Europe and we have a pletora of languages and no, Im not learning russian, polish, german, danish, norwegian, hungarian etc only to play this game, I already had to learn English, French, Portuguese and Italian, I think thats enough.

  • @Moundshroud said:

Because it isn't a 1v1 game. It is a 4v1 game and that means your greatest strength (numbers) is also your greatest weakness. Take solace in the fact that you can blame others for your losses and have a leg to stand on. The teams of Survivors are only as strong as their weakest link. A Killer has no bone to blame but him/herself.

No thats not true, a Killer has the Survivors and BHVR to blame for their loses.

Anyway I understand the whole "team" thing though in Solo queue there is not a team, more of an alliance of convenience also it wont stop the feeling of injustice NOED brings but as I said playing conservative in a trial last throes usually saves me from it so its been a long time since the last time it affected me.

  • Usually it involves a stealth Killer appearing out of nowhere, bonus points if its from an out of the way corridor and they manage to not activate my Spine Chill.

  • My main problem with NOED as Solo player is the fact that even if I cleansed half the totems, manage to avoid the Killer, juked him and actually did a good job if Im the one who is chasing when the 5º gen activates Im going down and it feels super unfair, I did my part and my teammates did not, why Im being punished for their lazyness?.

In the end since cleansing all 5 totems as Solo is almost impossible, unless the Killer is already using other Hexes, my main counterplay is playing extremely conservative when the last gen is close to activate so the one who ends hit with NOED is someone else, then open gates and get away asap unless I manage to see the totem on my way out to the gates, Its cowardice? yes but as I said many times on endchat, "I did my job, Im not going down for you".

I think the best way to rework NOED would be similar to DH but in inverse, a Hex that activates when all gens are done and is stronger the more totems there are (counting Hexes), with 5 it could be much more stronger than it is now to punish gen rushers harshly, with only 1 left it could be tamer so it does compensate Survivors for doing the totems but missing one.

When that 4 man legacy 3 shmockette squad hits you dont say nothing.

Thats nothing pal, try the squad of 4 Neas with ugly cosmetics or if you want to get stomped in a clean way I suggest the squad of P3 Jeffs.

  • For me it sucks not because the whole rift and skins blunder but because the Killer addon is unspeakable broken with certain Killers. I cant wait for it to end so it deactivates and we never see it again.

  • Gameplay wise I think he is a good Killer, not my cup of tea since I dont like gotta-go-fast Killers but I reckon he has an unique gameplay, a lot of potential on the right hands and if you suck with him you are guaranteed a 4 escape. I recant a statement where I said he was just discount Hillbilly.

Arstistic wise I find him one of the worst, I dislike deformity-horror and Blight is the epitome of it.

What Hector said. The game has been improving. The recent problem of Undying + Ruin is very real and it's an epidemic that needs addressing. The current killer meta is Undying + Ruin + Tinkerer + BBQ on almost every killer. It's lame as can be for so many perks to exist but those are chosen 50%+ of the time. Similar issues exist for the survivor-sided Decisive Strike + Unbreakable + Dead Hard + Spine Chill/Other, but in my opinion it isn't as bad.

But other than that, the game has gotten so much better, especially for killers. Pawcelot couldn't be more wrong that people weren't asking for map reworks (unless they meant the updated textures) because god loops were considered by many experienced players to be the worst thing in the game, and now they are basically gone, which is a critical game improvement (this coming from a survivor main). I also happen to think that (WELL-PLACED) breakable walls for strong loops is a really cool gameplay aspect that they are getting better at.

Also even if he was right and people didnt ask for map reworks, BHVR did correctly guess some maps (a lot of them actually) are the real problem, gen rushing for example is a problem only on huge maps like Mother's Dwelling or Disturbed Ward where low mobility Killers cant patrol anything, looping was only a problem on god-loop and pallet city maps etc (I guess bigger maps will get the rework later as they need more work than just opening a door or they will get fixed with that slow early game mechanic they are making).

Sometimes you have to ignore the screams and focus on the root of the problem, and I agree with you, perks are a problem and for me is not that current meta things are too strong (except 1 or 2 per side) but the other perks are way too weak or too niche or both.

People wont stop asking for nerfs for meta and then what? what are we supposed to play? Slippery Meat+Streetwise+Red Herring+Babysitter? Monstrous+Zanshin+Overwhelming+Predator? BVHR buffed some perks and the response from a lot of people was "you buffed stuff instead of nerfing what we told you to nerf!! B-I-A-S!!" if you want people to stop picking meta perks they need to be able to select other viable perks.

Pig has better winrate than Spirit, kekw, that's all you need to know about the accuracy of the statistics.

Jigsaw is probably played by people who like her game mechanics and are probably very good because they have a lot of experience on her while Spirit is probably played by FOTM people who only pick her because she is super easy to play and extremely rewarding, that kind of players tend to be average-ish to bad, thats why they go for the strongest thing out there, they need the help to carry them to victory.

Do you really think the noobs who cant do anything will go after the Killer who gets most "this Killer is crap and needs buffs" threads? or the "this Killer is too strong, it needs to be nerfed" threads?.

After I first picked her for her tome I noticed you can tell how bad of a Killer someone is by knowing how many people escape when playing Spirit.

A content creator got into an argument and then had a rant about the whole Blight event, he said something really out of place and got banned, then he went to youtube and made a 10 minute long video ranting.

  • The other day in 10 games as Survivor I had 3 Midwich, 1 Lery, 2 The Game and 2 Hawkins, yesterday as Myers I had corn maps 5 times out of 8.

  • The game has been improving, especially balance wise, while they do have some blunders or bad decissions the general improvements surpass them.

Whoever says otherwise they didnt read or play the game in the earlier stages, with real infinite loops, exhaustion recovering while running, getting moried right off the bat (no need for hooks), machine-gun builds, hooks never respawming after Sabotage etc.

  • I dont think BHVR is suffering ecnomically from the pandemic tho, I believe videogames is one of the few industries which benefited from it, more people at home playing and trying games to kill the boredom.
