I have 14/14 Survivors and 8/17 Killers, take on account almost everyone at P3 has all perks except 14 (Yoichi, Jill, Leon, Jonah and 1 for Zarina and Cheryl) and all except 9 (Nemesis, Sadako, Pinhead), if I were to just P3 them I would have everyone at that rank already, what really takes time is getting the perks you desire and/or every single perk on a P3 character, reaching the rank itself is not that time consuming if you just rush it with disregard to perks, addons and focus on getting the good extra BP offerings (puddings/cakes and green stuff).

Prestiged 3'd Trapper and Jake years ago for PS trophy, haven't bothered with any others as to me its a pointless feature. Had there been decent Prestige based cosmetics or things worth Prestiging for, I would have done. I main Oni and only have him at 2.
Im just curious, where did all those BPs go? because I main Myers and I started to P3ing everyone because I had more BPs that I could ever invest on addons for him.

Eh, I may have exaggerated how much I care about the killer giving hatch. Mostly don't even spectate to find out. Just a bit annoying when it's a teammate who wasn't particularly helpful to anyone and who I died saving. Cerealy.
You cant really know if someone is being helpful or not until you check the point screen, sometimes Ive been accused of not doing anything and escaping while other, more useful teammates had died only to check the points and see I have like almost 10k more than them (5k for escaping but the other 5k didnt came from standing on a corner looking at the sky), even then points can be deceiving, someone farming the hooks will screw their team over and still get a sizeable amount of points.
Just because you dont see them around doesnt mean they arent fixing gens, cleansing hexes or healing others.

Because having a lunge half the size of Mothers Dwelling is EW3+Coup Myers or Nurse thing not Wraiths.
P.D. Yes I know Nurse lunge is the same as the rest, but the way she is coded and moves makes her look like she has insane lunge, bigger than Myers at EW3.

True, but it’s not like you can take the penalty while waiting in queue. You have to take your 5 minute (or more) timeout and then start your 5 minute (or more) survivor queue.
I do think the upcoming change to incentivize players to pick a certain role will help. That was suggested a long time ago - shouldn’t have taken so long to implement
5 minute queue as Survivor? not anymore, at least not in Europe during morning and evening times, queues for Survivor start around ~21:30 here, right now if you get something you hate its faster to DC once and wait the 5 minutes than enduring 10-20 minutes of something unbearable. I agree DCing when you are about to get killed is pointless but sometimes people just break and say "ENOUGH!!".
About the lost BPs?, people who have enough time on this game dont care that much about BPs, losing between 10k and 15k (what you usually make if die) is a drop of BPs on a ocean of grind, the items? if you are going to die you lose your items anyway so that is unaffected and the penalty if its the first of the day its not that much, even if its the second and you are going to stop playing its also negligible.
P.D. take on account if you are a Killer main and see a bully squad on the lobby you can always dodge while Survivors have to eat wathever they get served, I despise Twins, I DC every single time I join a game and hear the "release victor" prompt or their chase theme, believe me I would dodge the lobby if I could so I dont ruin the game for the other 3 Survivors but sadly I cant and Id rather eat a 5 minute penalty and switch to Killer for the rest of the playing session or stop playing altogether for the rest of the day.

It was noticeable if you got slugged for a really long time - I once got hooked in a situation I would have been able to wiggle off without it. That said, it was only the once where I ever saw it do anything. And if you get left on the ground for over a minute, that game's already gone sour anyways.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2962579#Comment_2962579
Yes? The trade off is that the killer knows they can't hook you, so you're only slugged instead of gaining a hook state and moving closer to being removed from the game. You did get something out of this interaction. The killer cut their losses and did not get to carry through their original plan of hooking you.
Complaining that the killer won't pick you back up when you're going to wiggle off is like complaining that survivors don't drop pallets all over the map and run into walls instead of looping. You can't expect the other players to be stupid and do things that go against their own interests.
Cheked the wiki, 0,05 c/s which translates in 360 seconds to deplete a full bar, more time than it takes to bleed out, being dropped 30 seconds increased the timer for a whooping 1,5 seconds.

I'm not sure I understand... you just accumulate more wiggle progress when they pick you back up.
I think wiggle progress regresses while you're on the ground though.
I dont know if its still on the game but wiggle regression is/was so minimal it is/was barely noticeable. I didnt learn of it until years after starting playing and because someone posted about it on the forums.

- Shelter Woods (AKA Deadzone The Map).
- Midwich: small, indoors, easy to check on gens thanks to the 2 layers, only one god pallet, no shack, hard to find Totems and a lot of decent vaults can be negated by breaking walls.
- Lery's: a maze with hard to find gens, small and indoors.
- Coal Tower: smallest map in the game and main building can be rendered useless by breaking 2 walls.
- Dead Dawg Saloon: small, easy to 3 gen, extremely exposed gens (you can see anyone fixing them from a mile away) not many pallets, hard to find totems, a lot of deadzones, shack, main building and the LT can be neutered if you break the walls, its only Survivor orientation is the fact there are plenty of strong vaults with breakable walls but if you get a fast early down you can use the extra pressure to break a lot of them and render them useless.
- Azarovs, Suffocation Pit and Sanctum of Wrath: football field maps are extremely easy to 3 gen, Suffocation is almost always a massive deadzone on the shack side.
For me those are the ones that almost always are easier for Killer, other maps can be easy too if you get solid gen spawns like "Grim Pantry" "Family Residence" "Torment Creek" etc or maps where you can get some pallet deadzones like "Wreckers Yard" but those are up to RNG.
-
Deja Vu is great for newcomers when finding gens is hard and you dont understand how 3 gens work, after you have some hours in the game you usually know the position of the gens the very moment you load on the map, most maps have somewhat fixated gens and 3gen openers.
-
I dont trust farming matches, I fix the gens, open the gate and get out as fast as I can, plenty of "tee hee, Im going to trick them into thinking Im friendly then my NOED+No Way Out+Blood Warden will screw them over, just as Toxic Streamer™ did on one of those superfun Youtube videos!!" or "Le friendly goofy moonwalking daddy Myers... with Tombstone No Way Out and Bloodwarden"
-
Sometimes they do change stuff based on suggestions, I believe they changed one of Pyramid Head daily rituals based on someones input (they even cited the person in a post) and sometimes they tweak stuff after the comunity has given input.
They do add cosmetics designed by the comunity but only if you enter on their competitions and win, Clown Mr Puddles cosmetic was made by a player.
-
Yes and no, I get making around 50 well designed masks is a lot of work so if certain characters dont get one is not the end of the world and I understand it.
Im bummed the usual suspects are the ones getting masks except very few exceptions, Elodie and Yui have more cosmetics than Jeff and Adam while being released after, Mikaela is about to catch up with them too, its like they dont exist at all when it comes to content.
Also having a Clown and not giving him a masquerade mask is a bit of a crime...

I don't know what Doomposting is, I'm just voicing my concerns
Doomposting is making posts about an inminent doom or catastrophe about befall, in games it refers to the act of starting threads to express concern about changes we dont know a single thing about, they literally said nothing except "we are going to do a mass rebalance because the meta is extremely stale and we are looking into why the meta perks are picked and do minor tweaking".
We dont even know what they are going to do with BBQ or Ruin not even the base game, maybe they nerf them but make base gen regression stronger, maybe they get rid of BBQ point stack and make it basekit we literally dont know a single thing but it wont stop an horde of people making threads to complain about the unknown.
P.D. BBQ is going to be pretty much pointless after the grind reduction hits, if you dont need a trillion BPs the point stacking becomes a bit redundant, either they change it or it ¡disappears entirely in favour of other, more solid detection perks because as far as detection goes, BBQ is one of the worst unless you play a Killer with a teleport or a massive amount of mobility, even then Thrilling Tremors is better anyway.
-
Doomposting already? this is going to be a loooooong summer before the update hits.

Some killers think both DH & DS should not exist so they could just instant down fresh unhooked survivor and hook again.
Some killers think DS should not active because of 4% luck.
Are the proof that if Survivor meta is nerfed, tunneling & camping still exist.
It was proven when they nerfed DS and people stopped using it camping and tunneling became so rampant they had to put an Obsession by default because loading into a game with no Obssession meant no DS and it was a free ticket for tunneling.

Maybe it's a new emote other than the pointing and come here hand gestures.
Those can affect gameplay, I dont think its game related stuff for that reason.
@Simfeliz said someone suggested custom portraits, at first I tought that was a bit absurd for nobody can see other people portraits unless you are a streamer, is an awful reward but then I tought what if they want to release a new interface similar to what Dota2 and Starcraft 2 have?, with a global chat with profiles and chat emoticons and the likes, maybe the rewards are tied to something like that and are indeed P3 related portraits?. Its one of the few things that come to mind if the rewards are not cosmetics or ingame currency.

If Its not cosmetic or charm (thank God no charms pls), then only thing that comes to my mind as the most % chance are BP and shards.
I am 99.99% sure that AC will not be given because that would be way too good and very losing $ for Devs.
I mean if it is just shards and BP... Doesn't sound much special or worth it unless there is huge ammout of shards which again probably not because it would be big lose for $$.
I agree.
BPs dont really seem a fit reward, if you prestiged everyone to P3 you dont really need that many BPs anymore, ACs are out of the question, you can get licensed characters with them so they have to pay the holder for every unlock, shards are similar to ACs, they are free since you cant unlock licenses but they would lose potential income from people unlocking a lot of stuff with them, especially new chapters.
If its not a charm or cosmetics it has to be something entirely new not yet implemented because there isnt room left for anything else plus the rewards have to be related to each charater at P3.
-
A toggle on custom would be good, 1vs1 is used a lot of times to teach newer players about the game and it involves downing people and showing them whats wiggle or carrying them while showing how to run L/T or other jungle gyms.

Blight, Nurse, Billy, and Spirit can't teleport across the whole of Red Forest from anywhere, at any time. Dredge's ease of use, puts him ahead.
Nor can Dredge, Mother's Dwelling is not a map with plenty of lockers, it does have a lot in the tile with 6 of them but outside of that there arent exactly a lot of them, rocks, hills, wooden piles and rocks tiles have no lockers and several of those tiles can spawn together.

I suppose it will be some sort of legacy cosmetic like the ones they gave away when they reworked the grind at the begining of the game.

It is not my job to come up with solutions. It is their game and it is undeniable that at least camping from a game design perspective is absolute garbage. However to fix this issue, do not go for the solutions (aka the perks) before you addressed the cause.
Maybe they are looking at camping and tunneling but they decided not to say anything because the comunity is... prone to excesses and tantrums, to say it lightly...
P.D. I do agree inmensely with your "Its not my job to give solutions to problems" Im so tired of seeing "well if you dont like X why dont you propose a good solution?" argument, we are costumers, we may give insight on how to fix a problem or how we want it fixed but its not our job, its like having a leaking pipe while the plumber is looking at it then your neighbour appears and tells you "well if you dont like your leaking pipe why dont you fix it yourself?" why in the hell im paying the plumber for then?

I believe BT is going to be baseline in a weaker form, because if they nerf it on the meta shake up they can get rid of Solo queue alltogether because its one of the few perks maintaning Solo queue alive (along DS).

I don't think any licenses will come in, and if there will be survivors I bet there going to be side characters. Dlc hopefully in the future if it's good enough. I'm a sucker for dating Sims.
Licenses are most definetely not coming, especially Freddy (just think about why he got burned by the parents in the first instance and imagine the PR disaster it could be if someone decides to make a fuss about it), Pinhead (BDSM undertones) and Myers.
Maybe Jigsaw and Ghostface since their holders seem to be the most willing to release stuff and colaborate with BHVR for mutual benefit, especially Ghostface because the character is BHVR made and the mask is the only thing licensed but still is a long shot.

I'm gonna miss killers carrying me around to hatch. It's like one of the few things in this game where players have a nice moment.
Ive been missing it for years since I cant remember the last time a Killer did it for me or any other Survivor on the trial and no, there wasnt any toxicity involved on most games... on the other hand I can remember vividly the last time the last Survivor got slugged for 4 minutes because reasons, it was around 9 days ago.
Forcing the Killer to end the game when last person gets downed is a way of stopping that, my main concern is what about BPs and BBQ stacks if the last one didnt get hooked the entire game.

You choose which tier you want to buy from the shrine, and each tier increases the cost.
What about already shard-unlocked perks? I have a lot of licensed characters perks unlocked on the Shrine, which rank are they going to be once the change goes live?

Before this change the key was predetermined in a box as soon as the player was trapped.
There were no chances on each box.
Interested to see if they completely mess this up to where every survivor is getting their trap off on the fourth box.
I think he means the chance of a Survivor going after the right box not the chances of the box giving they key.

Not much, they tend to promise a lot of stuff then saying "This is very early work" only to be implemented either way too late, a barebones version or not implemented at all. The roadmaps are just absurd at this point, we all know them in advance "every 3 months we churn a new Killer and a new Survivor with mostly pointless or redudant at best perks, 2 maps per year and rework these 2/3 Killers".
My hopes are extremely low, I dont expect any announcement about the worst problems of this game and even if they do I dont expect it to be implemented in less than 18 months, do people still have to wait 12 months or more for a fix for the grind?.

2017 was his "into the Dream-Ability", right?
Or was 2017 already the current version in good (4,6m/s Snare-Speed, 8 Snares etc.) That was fine i assume, just the time wasting addons needed a change.
2017 was first iteration Freddy, no teleport, no snares, he had to put you into the dream, no alarm clocks, he had no colision with awake Survivors nor could he attack them, wallhacks outside his TR on asleep Survivors and being asleep made your M1 50% slower on everything.
-
Bugs in this game are so random you cant put any logic on them, like you can tweak Ace's running animation and suddenly 3 gens become unkickable from random positions on The Game.
The only time I managed to link "they touched this and that thing bugged as a result" was when they fixed pallet colisions and illusory Freddy pallets started to stun him like real ones and Im not even sure it was related.

That's how they do in Dota2 I believe.
It's called Low Priority Queue, once there, you need to play a specific number of matches and win to get back to regular queue.
Playing a match and losing doesn't count in your progress back to regular queue.
Low priority/rotten apples queue on DBD already exists, its called Solo.
-
Twins is a suicide for me, sorry but not sorry, luckily they are exceedingly rare even with the tome being about that abomination.
Onto the thread, right now in Europe at morning and evening (from 10AM to 20:00/21:00) Survivors have no queue or its insignificant so people weight a 30 seconds suicide against 10 minutes of misery and opt for the easy way out, first hook suicides always increases when Survivors have no queues, same as Killer dodges when they have no queue.
This game has a ton of frustrating stuff for both sides and both have a way of avoiding it, Killers can dodge what they think may be SWFs or bully squads and Survivors can get a faster ticket out against something they dislike with an early suicide, this happened with Forever Freddy when they took down DC penalties because hackers had imposed a 72 hours DC penalty on several big time streamers, every single Freddy I played against had at least 1 Survivor dcing, usually 2 or even 3 just at the start, it was so common the amount of Freddies decreased because they couldnt land any normal match. I remember this one time where there was 3 DCs and hatch spawmed right at my feet so the game ended in like 15 seconds, the Freddy asked why, 1 of the DCrs told him Freddy was extremely unfun so he just got out, the Killer went onto the usual rant "you are not entitled to me entertaining you" and he retorted "well, you arent entitled to any fun either, enjoy your 20 seconds games and 5 minute queues".
Since the common consensus is that nobody is entitled to anything from the other side, not even fun so Killers who play like scum get 2 minute matches with suicides and dcs nonstop (which I suppose are SUPER DUPER fun) and bully squads get facecamped... well you made your bed, now lay on it.
P.D. I believe the insane amount of DCs against Forever Freddy during that time were at least one of the reasons he got changed.
-
It did solve the problem of people complaining on Twitter about racism.
-
I believe he refers as north americanizing to dumbing down the game, which is weird because some NA games versions are harder than east asian ones and vice-versa, its totally random and up to the developers, an example Final Fantasy games used to be harder in Europe and NA versions than Asian ones (dont know now since the last one I played was FFX which still was harder than the east version) and PS1/2 Metal Gears had an extra dificulty level in Europe.
Even on the development level some western games are notoriusly harder than eastern counterparts like "UFO: Enemy Unknow" and late 80/early 90 RPGs like Fallout, on modern stuff like XCom and Phoenix Point are harder than similar tactic games from the east.
-
I think its intentional and a deliberate attempt to not have another Pyramid Head situation where you vault you get hit, you dont vault you get hit too, crouching gives some chance to Survivors to avoid it if they have enough distance.
If someone for the team could clarify it would be better of course.

A lot of people believe game developing positions are interchangeable and everyone knows how to do everything, like why do you have someone writting the lore instead of helping fixing bugs and balancing the game?, an absurd assumption since writers usually dont have the skillset to code and it isnt their job anyway, but hey, everyone knows better...

What do you expect on a game where the comunity spends their time throwing bile at eachother? just look at the forum, steam, reddit and imageboard generals, nothing but "US VS THEM!!" mentality.

Sometimes people have to be protected from their own foolishness... sometimes the "This is for your own good and is going to hurt me more than is going to hurt you" solutions have to made.
The game is bloated right now, has a ton of underlying problems some of them slow as hell to fix for they would require A LOT of testing, if we want a better game we have to stop complaining when they dont release another Killer with a collage of powers only to end playing the same characters we normally play.

You dont understand me. What Im trying to say is adepts are the exact same for everyone, Killer adepts are harder? yes they are, but they are harder for every single player out there, nobody is stopping you as Killer main to do Survivor adepts and nobody is stopping Survivor mains to do Killer adepts either.
Achievements are for everyone, no matter the role.

Fair.
It is fair, same requirements for everyone, Killer mains, Survivor mains and 50%ers have the same requirements for adepts on both roles or do you think a Survivor main will have a much easier Killer adept? or a Killer main a much harder Survivor adept?. Unfair would be if Survivor mains would have much easier Killer adepts because they play Survivor more.
Whats next? complaining a side gets more BPs than the other so they should be reduced? Demanding the other side characters to be more expensive?.

Is quite hilarious to see killer players complaining about something which they dont even understand in first place. NOBODY is complaining that Legion is OP, too strong or whatever. Its the same issue as before: playing mending simulator is totally annoying and just a waste of time. You can basically play two or three matches against proper killers or playing a single match vs Legion.
Sadly I think most do actually understand it but we have reached a point of galvanization where a lot of people think "annoying to hell the other side is the way to go", I hope you are right and its just people not really understanding the underlying problem of a lot things in DBD because thats way better than just pure childish pettiness.
A lot of valid complains go like this "This sucks" "Oh well, you are not entitled to a gaming experience that doesnt suck so deal with it!".
-
I agree with the OP and its a problem with current MMR valuing only kills and escapes, obviusly its not as simple because you also have to take on account SWFs (Im willing to bet 4 1000 MMR Solos perform worse than 4 1000 MMR SWF team just by virtue of info sharing) and map disparity (a 1000 MMR Myers would perform much better on Lery's than on Mother's Dwelling yet the results are weighted the same).
IMO both Killers and Survivors should go for wins but trying to avoid cheesy tactics unless they want to inflate their MMR to a point where they are going to get curbstomped by opponents who wont fall for them, this happened on SC2 too, people who climbed the ladder by cannon rushing or rushing zerglings reached a spot where they faced people who were literally inmune to cheeses so they were crushed in minutes in very humilliating ways.
The solution would be to take on account more variables to calculate the MMR but I guess BHVR still doesnt current formula as a problem.
