This killer, you just can't miss shots. You don't have to reload like the huntress, but it hurts when you don't line your shots up right.
It took me two or three days to get Adept Oni, and he is not my playstyle at all. I'm still working on Deathslinger, but I don't feel like this one's going to be too bad.
We'll find out after I get it how bad it was, but it doesn't feel like it's going to be too bad.

Welcome to the world killers have had to do forever
Tbh, I prefer Identity V's system. Way less grind
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I never got splinters since I always bought each chapter as it came out, but why would anyone want to play a killer without perks and add ons. Splinters also eat a bloodweb spot.
Bleh.

Does not ace in the hole not protect them?
It does, but I'm used to doing it unprotected.

Basement customization? Like, decorating your basement for the trial?
If they did that, it would be cool if you could load into your own little hub (kinda like the tutorial) and decorate it.
Just a little happy hole before you have to go back up there to see the survivors.
-
Oh no I went through a door and dropped my scissors and bandages.
I used to be so good at holding on to them but now they just slip through my fingers!
(I mean sure, it puts the consume into consumable and we're supposed to see them as such, but that band aid icon had a heart. It had a future.)
-
I've been playing with him for a little bit. Apparently if you walk backwards it pulls the survivor to you. Counter intuitive I know. I don't know if walking forward has an effect. If it does, it's small.
-
I like them. I hate walking around a building and not being able to find a way in.
-
My first game was bronze nothing bronze bronze.
I have to play with adept perks until I get it because that's how I do every new killer, but my teams lately since matchmaking changed haven't been sitting ducks.
I'll figure it out.

I have named the bird Alfred. That helps a lot in dealing with it.

I understand why everyone is spelling good, gud. Why in God's have are you people spelling get as git.
I know it's not about the subject of the post but I'm kinda of a spelling nazi
“Git Gud”, an intentional misspelling of the phrase “get good,” is an expression used to heckle inexperienced players or newbies in online video games, similar to the use of the phrase “lurk more” on forums.I forget when you're a veteran of three meme wars, that not everyone has seen as many memes as I have.
Before the World Trade Center towers fell, one of the true binding forces of the game playing internet was telling each other to git gud.
So did our fathers, so will our children declare the words.

Wow, I learned a lot! I also like how tbagging can be morse code for communicating with other survivors!
It also encourages squatting irl to warm up for matches and gets your heart rate going. Is there anything that can't be solved by crouching?
-
I unironically hope he gets the ability to shoot his harpoon into survivor crotch and cause the hook scream.
I really, really wanna reel survivors in by the grundle. You can't believe how bad I want it to happen.

I didn't save any blood points but I'm gonna pop down a few bucks and play cowboy.

There was a post on reddit a few days ago where a killer showed around 5 4ks and said the game is balanced and all the comments said "the survivors were potatos" or "the survivors made alot of mistakes". you said killers wont do that unless provoked by survivors makes you sound veryyy biased
This community would benefit from stepping back and looking at themselves sometimes.
-
I'd like it. Like if it has a lore page or something keep the page locked until you do it but if you need to leapfrog a challenge why not imo.

If I was one of those other 2 people and saw it was a doctor I'd DC too. The new doctor is way op. I've played as him and was kind of shocked (no pun intended) at how stupid easy it is to play as him now.
Also, I'm tired of people who play the killer all the time complaining about pallet loops and gen rushing... like seriously what are supposed to do? Do you want us to run around at random until you find us and then get into a chase with you using every pallet and vault only once? We'd die. A lot. Quickly. Every. Time.
I used to actually play like that as survivor and then realized quickly that there is often just too much distance between me and the next vault or pallet and the killer is too fast for me to try and double back in sneak mode to lose them.
Same thing with flashlights. Bro, I have a flashlight. You have a machete/chainsaw/knife whip/dagger/knife hands. You basically brought a bazooka to a fist fight and are complaining that people are flicking pebbles at you. It's pathetic.
If anything this game needs to add more variety of ways to escape the map like some other asymmetrical survival games cough F13 cough then there wouldn't be any gen rushing because there's actually be other objectives for the survivors to try and accomplish thaty have a meaningful impact on the game. Cleansing totems is a neat objective but if I don't see any hex totems I'm not going to waste my time cleansing every dull totem in the off chance the killer has no ed. This is especially true when playing solo because the only way it can really be accomplished without wasting precious time I could be spending working on gens is if the team can coordinate the effort, which is next to impossible in solo mode.
Meh. Unless you have calm spirit doctor is just a killer that forces you to be aggressive. Aggressively loop. Aggressively do gens. Aggressively go for the saves.
If you're shy, he'll find you. Definitely not a killer you can goof off against.
-
If you really wanna be mean play doc on the game and use two calm add ons and do the super shock every time its on cool down.
Survivors just need to get good, y'know?
-
*drops a pallet*
*clickclickclickclickclick*
Crouching Dwight, hidden Claudette. Survivors are too powerful, bow before them silly killer!
-
Those are really fun. There's a YouTube called Paulie Esther that I like and he has a thing where apparently there's a golden toolbox hidden in every level and they try to find it.
I wouldn't be surprised if one day they made a level with a lot of decaying portraits but in reality its just the dev team and not random people.
-
Unless I'm doing a side specific challenge where I need to be one role its usually 2 games of survivor and 2 games of killer maybe once a week.
If queues are quick or I'm on a roll I'll keep going, but that's usually enough. Not the games fault. I'm just busy irl.
-
Dude, you know what? Killer is the scariest role to play. I get straight up jump scared sometimes.
If you do not see a survivor and you're not in a chase and they drop a pallet on you for the stun, that makes me jump.
I tend to lean forward all the time too, studying one part of my screen etc. I'm more focused, as opposed to survivor where I keep my camera on a swivel.
Too many times, Myers. Too many times.

Adam. God he's rare lol. Jeff too.

I would assume so. It should just go to the compendium like the first Tome. So you can still do the challenges and get the BP and finish the level to get the items. I'm guessing you mean the Iridescent Primus Coin? I did part of Tome 1 from the Compendium while I was waiting for level 4 and was able to get the inner eye thing still. So should be cool. They started this second Rift immediately after the first,so I'm just assuming they'll make a third one and keep it up.
Thanks fam. Those tome charms are my favorite and tbh I have the cosmetics I like for my Dwight and killers so I'm low key really into those charms and if I have to work or something I was worried I would miss out.
Rift may not be casual friendly, but the tome sure is!
-
Ayyy, you're the best. I was worried about that.
Also my 500th post. Go team.
-
I'm too casual for rifts, but I like them. I get around rift 45-50 each time.
I always wonder though. If you don't complete the rifts and get the final charm and a new rift comes out, can you still go back and get it? Like, say I didn't get the (assuming) red coin before the rift ends. Is the red coin gone forever?
I did return because of the rifts though. So, I do like them for lore notes and stuff.
-
Slugging I can see killers doing, I do it sometimes (but to be honest I usually lose the survivor entirely. They crawl into another dimension)
Camping is a silly boi move. I always check the furtherest gen because i know from my survivor plays that the far away survivors commit to gens and I SWEAR TO GOD GET OFF OF THAT MACHINE.
Ahem.
Yeah.

Not really, unless we're pretty sure of them. We can't just "test" something on PTB without spending the time to develop it and run it through the QA process. So "testing" something on PTB costs as much as implementing something we're sure of.
Hm. Uh-huh. Yeah.
Okay Almo wanna prove the dev team listens to the community.
Dwightstache. Just a full on Dwight Mustache for best survivor.
If you do that I'll know for sure the dev team listens to the community. There's no other way to prove it. No other way.
Edit: some may point out there is already a Dwightstache. That is not enough however. We need MOAR Dwightstache.
-
I like cruel confinalimits and use it sometimes. It needs some help though. Especially on generators in the middle of nowhere. Just give it like a 40 meter orb of space that hinders survivors. Like a maze of entity spikes jutting out of the ground that the killer can just walk through.
That'll teach you to complete generators.

When are killer mains not mad tho

I understand that, and I'm not trying to say we shouldn't be discouraging people from DCing or AFKing, I'm just saying that the current measures are a bit extreme, and are a little overdemanding of players.
I respect that everyone having a good time is important, but often if a killer is having a bad enough time that they'd normally quit but can't, they resort to playing in a manor that isn't very fun for the survivors so as to secure one or two kills (tunneling and face camping).
To be honest I can't really take a side. If you look at this games sister, Identity V, they have the same camping issue but they have survivors like the embalmed that warp the "hooked" survivor away to counter it entirely.
Our survivors are just skins, and players will always find justifications for how they play. Obviously I can tell devs want people to play all the way through the game, but that's not always a fun thing to do and nobody wants to spend a game not having fun.
I don't envy the devs. Its not an easy fix in this game.
-
The game isn't dying. Is it ever gonna be as popular as say Team Fortress 2? Nah.
Is it going to be performing as bad as Maplestory 2? Nah.
The games population hits in waves. New rift/killer etc comes out? A lot of people (myself included. Rift brought me back. Suffer my memepost fools!) come to play for a bit, then peter off.
During content droughts it'll dip.
It'll take something fundamentally bad to bring this game to a zero playerbase. You have big horror names like Freddy and Myers. I'd even toss in my own IPs into the mix if certain conditions lined up.
Is the game ever going to be in a spot where everyone is happy? Probably not. All the devs can do is build maps and set up the sandbox. Its 5 real people making the game what it is. They have no control over what I do in game.
-
Its really important to spend time in matches you're not enjoying so the other players can have a good time and make sure that they can pip.
Just remember to play another game of dead by daylight after your experience!
Thanks and have fun!
-
I think its kind of exciting. Just put on random add ons til the game bans you.
Aren't all games like that?
-
I'm having the same issue. It's pretty hard to do so don't feel bad.
If you want to do it easier you probably need to be on comms with a survive with friends group. Four eyes are better than one.
For solos its entirely chance and puts a bullseye on your back. I think they really, really hate Jane to lock her entire story behind it. Its crazy.
-
Meh. Hillbilly is just a killer that punishes survivors for not being near a window or pallet. Since he's not a big player anymore people just see captain zoom and forget to treat him properly.

It can also go red when she grabs her hemo pools!

I like it. Also an Ultra rare that makes the plague be able to puke behind her but brown would help too I think.
Get those people running behind you. They'll never see it coming until it's too late.
-
10th I think. That's the next big patch day and makes the most sense time wise.
-
Most of the older maps I can play easily, so I imagine other veteran survivors would too.
I'm picking Thompson's house though, and taking a blow torch to Shelter Woods.
-
I'm going to play him when he comes out and instantly go for the adept achievement. After that I'll play him on a whim. I'm a jack of all trades, master of none.
-
Whoa. I am E N L I G H T E N E D.
Hm. When I was new (pre Huntress release) I thought infinite were on purpose to teach killers not to tunnel.
That folded out in a weird way.
Mind games kinda tricked me out too. I just held W and collected survivors. I didn't realize for a long time they were expecting me to pull fancy tricks or juke or swing at windows.
Nope. Walk til on survivors back. Hit. Collect. Surprisingly effective.
-
Meh. The only hard part is that you can only blind one, the other is immune. (But both get blinded if you find the right one.)
Take advantage of the fact most killers are mindless npcs and loop them both like normal while the other 2 press gens.
Gg ez.
*clickclickclickclick*
-
No, here's some advice for next time.
Do it as Myers but don't actually go afk. Just stand there and stalk people until you go into tier 2 and hold it until you're one tap from tier 3.
Near the end when they're playing with you, use your infinite tombstone/tombstone/tombstone piece and Insta mori one.
It's great.

No, you’re just not understanding the situation the OP is encountering.
I encounter this frequently.
- the survivors are on comms.
- They simply take ZERO risks. The moment they hear the heartbeat (or spot you if you’re a stealth killer) they bolt like a frightened little mouse ensuring the chase takes the absolute longest possible amount of time, whilst telling the other survivors the killer is now distracted, get back on the gen.
- They loop, but they take ZERO chance of getting hit at any pallet. They drop it immediately as an obstruction and already know exactly which loop they’re next running to depending on if the killer does or doesn’t break the pallet.
- it becomes apparent (as 1 or 2 gens pop) that this chased survivor is going to be untouchable while the other gens will continue to pop.
- Killer abandons the chase to find a different survivor.
- Survivor 2, 3, and 4 just rinses and repeats the above scenario.
- Yes this may seem like pallets are “wasted”, but at the rate of survivor efficiency it’s impossible for the killer to expect to get to endgame and have it a be barren pallet wasteland even if the killer DID break dropped pallets, AND the killer will have probably wasted more time doing so. There will still be many MANY pallets available to the survivors at this point of the game, and they’ll just use the exact same strategy for one of the exit gate switches.
It’s quite frankly quite impossible and the least fun thing for a player to deal with in any game I’ve ever played.
I'm just being a memelord fam. Just break the pallet was a meme on here for a while.
To give a serious answer, if you have a chase over 30 seconds with a survivor you should probably break chase and put pressure on the other three. There's enough pallets on the map for an experienced looper to really punish a tunneler if it happens early and all pallets are up.
If you chase for a lil bit, break a pallet or two and then drop chase to fight someone else, you have a dead zone you can corral them into.
Making me give serious answers, bleh.
Bleh I say.
