it feels fine to face, just shouldnt combo with DMS (DMS needs a rework)
i would rather the killer spread hooks, im ok with it. any game where a good killer hard tunnels at 5 gens sucks, this does not suck.
-
I don't necessarily disagree w you, but this logic applies to any slowdown since the dawn of time. Like every slowdown has always been a "bandaid" for the poop basekit game delay. That's kind of the point of them/perks in general.
However, buffing basekit gen slowdown and then nerfing the perks? Nuke tunneling and camping and add a new system to encourage spreading hooks and pressure? Sign me up dooder yup yup.
-
I agree, I think this is the #1 problem with the perk and why it continuosly appears every time a killer or perk is changed.
+ I wouldn't even complain about a full rework, I think I'd like to see it have a consistent block timer (a solid 30s maybe) and remove the activation window, both would help weaker/slower killers use it. Then make it apply to only one gen and deactivate, or something.
Last part would be kind of abusable, cause people could just tap a 0% gen. But just some kind of condition to limit it, but also give it more consistency. Either way, I just hate how it is now.
-
I'm confused, does this essentially mean Legion can freely vault (once per power CD), over 0.9s, into a regular basic attack? I feel like that'd be awful to play against if that's right. Cause what would you do?
For the record I would be very very okay with a good Legion buff but that seems like it'd be Chucky on steriods, and people already HATE scamper. Am I misunderstanding?
But I also really like the fatigue movement speed buff idea. Extra frenzy speed would be good too, basekit chainhitting is awful.

His only problem right now is his cooldown when missing, it's so forgiving that no mather if you make him miss or not, especially with addons
I really do not feel this way facing the basekit recovery. Facing the addons feels awful, not fun at all. The basekit recovery feels like a normal recovery, I make distance against it. Are you sure you haven't just been facing Thompson Mix spamming billys lol?
-
Missed hit recovery IS FINE BASEKIT, but the addons feel terrible to play against and shouldn't exist. It's been just fine playing against him without thompson mix + the other one, I feel like I'm still allowed a normal amount of distance.
-
his dumb addons have rly ruined the perception of his pretty balanced but strong basekit. if you wanna argue 4.4, i guess, but i think if they patched out hugtech, i rly dont see an argument for nerfing anything INTENDED in his basekit.
-
definitely not buffed, all of his best addons are worse except adren, which is just a silly buff. i dont see how its a buff.
slap on the wrist though, the killer is still good
-
Would have rather seen an interesting downside to C33 rather than just gutting it to brown addon tier, like disabling the lunge. Aren't Iri's supposed to change up playstyles?
-
The feedback on PTB was super clear. If you did not cheese condemn, she was terrible. Everyone knew this.
So they removed the cheese, then just did nothing else. Okay BHVR, ty for listening...?
-
she is overhated and very very beatable, but she is also just kinda boring. like there is so little to actively enjoy when facing her, as it feels super cheesy doing well in chase but getting scanned and getting injured for pretty much nothing. it's just like... okay. that was lame.
i'm spitballing slop ideas, but personally, I wanna see a version of her that brings back the active zone (without lockon, without automatic clawtraps upon disarming, without instant manual activation, all the 3gen garbo, etc), but the active zone traps people inside.
then clawtrap could be an active application, something you need to hit people within drone radius' for. maybe charging up the radar lets the clawtrap shock people in LOS, for a stun/slow/whatever. idk, she just needs abilities that she has to press buttons for, rather than this automatic garbage she has now.

I want his power to be just like the movies again, and I want him to actually pull people into nightmares beyond just dream world. Bring back dream pull, trash the TP and the pools/pallets, put them in an addon and actually design him faithfully like Pinhead.
Old Freddy had a really unique foundation for a killer and with modernization and visual flair, he could be sweet.

I would say playing anything super strong against solo q and not super effective vs swf pathetic af. But everyone is entitled to their opinions.
it was a joke
i asked what they're playing
-
what are they playing?
if it's singularity, then that's based af

press M2 to summon killer boon
unironically the power
-
Her original power had nothing going for it, was literally a status effect circle. I have no idea how they ever approved a painfully bland idea like that for a killer power in 2023. I think the rework is one of the best things they could've ever attempted, but that doesn't make it good, cuz they had almost nothing to work with and it shows.

hits favor the killer. Interrupts (like being grabbed off a gen) favor the survivor.

not when killer hitboxes smack you 10 feet outside the vault even with 30 ping lmao
i mean sure, some hitboxes are painfully unclear. but if you get a BS hit after using a window/window setup for 20+ seconds minimum, that's pretty good.
TL, both forms of JG, new ormond tiles, new window tiles in general have a great window setups, main buildings. there are so many very useful options which is a good thing.

That’s not true. Lol. Killer ping actually determines if a hit lands at any vault junction. The devs has said this a few times. It’s a well-known fact.
lean killer sided = balance persp. vaulting is very strong UNLESS ping is awful, then yes, the server favors the killer.
i don't know about you but my ping is about 30 on average.
-
@JudithMorel said:
you arent wrong, the game leans killer sided nowadays in most aspects of the game outside of swf.
vaulting does not lean killer sided, you can use structures extremely well just like every other good survivor player

Wasnt Halloween basically the reason this game even lived back then
looking at the playerbase numbers on SteamDB/Steamcharts, it actually stayed roughly the same for a while. it was consistently super high before myers, and consistently very high after him too.

It's tough to convey how much it has changed with words, so apologies if this is hard to imagine, but the collision detection is 37.5% smaller than before.
No problem, just having a percentage like that is awesome! Appreciate it Peanits!

I have no hope the rework will be good, in my honest opinion none of them are. So I just want it to be delayed as much as possible.

WishIcouldmain! It is good to see you, my friend!
I take it you are here for the Hillbilly changes? Finally a good thing happening, eh?
And I sure hope you're correct and Swamp remains immortal. It is the only realm I have left. Don't want to lose it.
I honestly don't think swamp could get worse so I think in this case, it'll do the map a favor. It did Ormond one, at least.
The rest, ya, balance wise they just added some awful breakable walls to maps that did not need them at all.
-
this is one of those things that I think looks bad on paper, but you won't actually feel in-game. I don't think this change is going to be noticable at all in the vast majority of games, and what will be noticable is the 5% reg and gentap removal. not insane buffs, but they will def have more of an impact.
-
xeno is really terrible when you play correctly, but you almost never see this because teammates just don't correctly utilize turret setups. if people keep a good turret setup through the match, xeno is constantly slowed/an m1 killer
but it doesn't matter because counterplay that is as complex as a 4-piece puzzle is beyond difficult for people to execute so xeno prob performs rly well
boring killer all around
-
Skull Merchant, is that you?
-
because she requires a lot of mastery of the power to perform very well. I don't think her skill floor is exceptionally high at all, but her skill ceiling definitely is, and a lot of her real, "top 5 worthy" power is at that ceiling. a lot of people don't care much to practice it, and she's already not super common as-is, so artist just doesn't get many complaints.
-
dredge feels like slow slog. any time I play him, it feels like i'm moving at 4.45m/s lol.
idk man, lockers are just overly punishing, remnant usage is slow, tp's are very slow, cooldown is really long, catching up is really punishing, locker placements are super inconsistent. I want to love him so bad, but these make for a very sloppy feeling killer.
sadly i feel he needs more than just number changes to feel good. locker placements are obviously a very difficult thing to manage for all of these maps and variations, but something just needs to be done. it's a shame so much of his power weighs on the RNG placement of regular environment objects, especially in some maps that don't compensate for a killer power needing them at all. just sad.

@Xernoton said:
It's the worst rework yet. The main building is still just as busted as before and some of the filler loops got even stronger.
I would go as far to say that it only got worse.
(it got worse)
-
I think it's a god awful perk all around tbh, insanely overrated
-
What is the point of this post/what even are these takes?
-
Xenomorph
Reduce survivors Hindered while carrying turrets from 35% to 25% and Xenemorph movement speed inside tunnels from 18m/s to 16m/s. Xenomorph no longer can lunge his basic attacks while in Crawler mode.
Why would you absolutely gut Xeno like this..? Xeno already has a reputation for feeling fairly bad to play, what are these changes?

I didn’t see it then. I don’t keep up with dbd news every single day, my apologies. I’d still like an explanation for how they said it was too strong before but now suddenly it’s not?
Because people are capable of changing their minds and adjusting changes according to poor feedback?

So I've faced two skull merchants who still do that chess merchant build and thought of dbd related things I would rather do then face a skull merchant. Now a disclaimer I know not all skull merchants are like this there are some that try to play differently aka use their drones for chasing and shutting down loops its like Bubba back then not every Bubba was a face camper. Anyways on with the list.
1. Face a hacker and be held hostage
2. Face 15 Otz matches in a row
3. Play twins during PTB(I play on ps but you get my drift)
4. Try getting Nurse's adept again(least played killer and still no idea how to play her)
5. Play 10 matches with just no mither seven of which I face an Oni
6. Try getting every single achievement in the game(while I have some of more challenging ones like from the void she kills and left for Dead these were either me just focusing on the achievement or a stroke of luck)
7. Play as a survivor or killer while blindfolded(never done it but it doesn't seem easy)
8. Would face 5 infinite mending legions
9. Play old freddy(I consider it a little annoying since it was somewhat easy to wake up still got the Adept though)
10. Trying to get from rank 20 to rank 1 without dying once
So there it my list of dbd things I would rather do then face a skull merchant because players(some not all) still use chess merchant.
otz, the guy who plays bad killers with bad perks without tunneling and camping, probably the easiest match you could ever get
-
I'm sorry but this perk is beyond terrible. How is anybody dying to this?

Not really. They get plenty of leeway because "survivors are op"
I mean DBD literally popularized the hell out of the "what about my fun!" complaint in gaming. Due to the nature of 4v1, killers have always largely faced the brunt of this dumb community obligation to "play fun and skillful" cause they're 100% of their team, so they can control all da fun levels!
since 2016 this has been true

Then she shouldnt constantly teleport to areas with a completed gen. There is no way that a slight nerf to that range would really make her like she was before. Also, why can't killers be responsible for being better with their chosen killer like survivors are expected to be better than tunneling? Seems like a double standard when they could just make her more fair to go against
Killers are held to that standard constantly lmfao
-
i mean we'll see what it is
-
as little bonuses that would be cool, the overall power would have to be something significant though. like this would be a cool hacker form of Madness.
-
i highly doubt any of that, what? the devs have always spoken highly about huntress’s design and basekit and all of those changes would make no sense for them to do at all?
if i were to guess, maybe a reduction in hatchet hitbox size again, but compensation buffs (faster windup, smaller environment hitbox, faster projectile). cause that’s the one thing that people still do complain about with huntress.
-
adding in Lickers to Nemmy would be an insanely massive hassle for many layered reasons, suggestion’s not realistic
torment trails can’t last indefinitely for largely performance and clutter reasons, not a realistic change either

i swear it feels faster. i was easily catching survivors sprint bursting away from me. It almost feels like Blight dash, maybe even faster
thats how it feels to me too, but i think its a third person thing.
blight is 230% and chucky should be 165%. that just doesn't feel correct to me though. lol
-
If they destroy condemn as a viable method of killing people, I think they can really lean into the Demanifestation theme in chase.
So, yeah, buff flicker for both Demanifest and Manifested, and I also think it'd be neat if while Manifesting, she could pass through windows/walls/pallets at an additional movement speed penalty (-15% or -20%). I wouldn't want something like that usable in every case, otherwise it's just boring, but I think that'd add a neat little chase dynamic if balanced properly.
Projection could also get a nice big increase for lethality. I think doubling the movement speed boost would be very fun. Having played against her a lot at this point, Projection being so telegraphed makes it really punishing for her to use in chase, so a big buff to that movement boost would be sweet to keep up.
If they want to still keep Condemn relevant, tying Condemn gain to more active play would be better, I.E applying Condemn on Manifest/Projection hits.
Either way I think she has a lot of potential to become a lot more fun mechanically.
-
wesker is 4.6m/s and nurse is 3.85m/s, she needs constant uptime otherwise she's slow and sluggish and bad
-
I get why it would work for viability but it wouldn't really fit his identity or theme or gameplay loop
-
I mean fundamentally it's a bad perk because it encourages not tunneling, when tunneling is the best thing you can possibly do. So, no matter what the effect is, it's always a bad perk by design lol.
But, I do think it has a nice appeal on M2 killers AND it's pretty good for making people think twice about healing. The 16% debuff on 90s gens is decently impactful. Either people are constantly slower on gens or they're injured. Not rly by a lot but it's ok, lol.
-
Freddy, full on rework. A very modern version of his original power with some thought and care put into it would be really awesome. I think some of the coolest killers in this game are the ones with interesting conditions/downsides to them or their power, and being invisible and intangible was a perfect example of that and it's a shame they dropped it man.
Myers definitely needs to lean into flexibility as an identity, as of now he's extremely outdated and I think he needs more complexity to his power than just hold M2 to become scarier M1 man. It's sad that his whole power can be made up of perk effects. I think it'd be cool to have the ability to use Tier 1, 2, and 3 all throughout a match for different purposes. And if you tie a new ability to CTRL, it could morph between being stealth-oriented in T1, strength oriented in T3, and a mix of both in T2, maybe some mobility in each.

His slowdown addons were definitely not ok. Forever Freddy was a problem not just because he was overplayed.
no, it was pretty bad against a good team, but it was the lowest effort pubstomp build so it won a lot. it was a problem because it was boring and low effort high reward. you'd get a forever freddy once every 3 games, every one of them just turned their brain off.
freddy was still rly bad in chase against any great survivors, speaking from experience on the surv end, but those were especially less common when forever freddy was a thing. n that was a long time ago now.
for the record im glad it changed and i hated everything about it.
-
@Xernoton said:
Depending on how you look at; Freddy. He started out as awful, then became overpowered and now he is awful again. We've come full circle, only that we somehow switched the circle along the way.
wasn't even overpowered tbh, but overplayed and synergized well with the meta so he stomped a lot of lobbies for no effort
-
i rly do hate having this attitude, but this perk is really terrible and you are telling on yourself if you think it's a problem
faced it 10 times over in the past few days and its done literally nothing guys
