  • Survivors are stupid. This very much includes myself. When all gens are done and gates are 99, everyone will start to try to save the last guy on hook. NOED or not. I "lost" so many matches this way i couldn't count them if i wanted to :D

Survivors want to have fun too. Some thrill, not to be cheap and to make the 3 or 4k with everyone escaping. This is what gives you the kills, even when all gens are done.

OFC this doesn't speak for good balancing. Survivors who die because they basically kill themselves. But this is not about gen time. 5 gens are nothing for a good genrush team and almost impossible for soloQ's when one is DCing and 2 are doing bones and searching chests or whatever. Problem is, this ranking system throws everything together and the SWF mechanic then mixes everything throu so that lowbobs also get to play against red rank SWF teams because one of them is rank 15.

It is the core game that is broken, not the gen times.

  • I play both. Survivor SoloQ and Killer almost everything.

Being on edge and play killer all the time get's to my nerves. So does playing survivor SoloQ unless you have a good team. There are fun matches and situations sprinkled in between that keep me playing this game. DBD is pure RNG. The fun is by chance.

  • I wonder why there is no perk build that allows for fast recovery from exhaustion. Since you can't restore stamina while running anymore, a 20-30% increase in stamina restore wouldn't hurt too much. Or would it?

To OP: You want to see MORE but can't give an example of what you would like to see that is not totally niche. I see that you didn't posted this in the suggestions forum but ... think about it. What should anyone make from this?

  • I was EXTREMELY unfun when i started the game. For players who still have to learn so much running into SWF who bully you all day is incredibly unfun and frustrating!!!

Now, with much more experience, these matches are often fun for me. Like when i face OOO teams with Third seal or teams that play heavely altruistic. It is fun because i know how to counterplay certain tactics or take my advantage out of them. But to reach this point it took a lot of salt and youtube videos.

100% on "I want to know who i go against"!

  • SWF could be a seperate challange mode for killers where they get extra BP. ATM and in the past 5 years this mechanic just ruins the matchmaking and causes so much trouble. If killers would face SoloQ only in ranked and not randomly have voice comm squads throwen against them, they wouldn't be so loud when it comes to nerfes or survivor sided buffs.

The MM feels random and unfun with this. Same goes for the rank resets. Why is this neccesarry? Letting survivors fight against killers that are far beyond their soloQ limits and vise versa?

Frankly i feel ashamed to play this game and buy stuff in the shop. It leaves a bad feeling to support a dev team that cares so much about their moonprized costumes but leaves their playersbase with nothing but hardcore grind and broken core mechanics.

  • @SweetTerror said:

Hopefully the MMR will be fixed and encourage more people to play.

After so many years of selling moonprized outfit's.

  • 100%

MM is plain garbage. SoloQ is just torture. One Bubba camper after another and you get paired with rank 20 survivors. It's so annoying. I wish i could rank up to get rid of this but most of the time i am running with my BT from one hook to the next, but they go down faster then i can unhook them.

What annoys me the most is that i can get rid of so many killers just by running a loop 3 times before dropping the pallet. These Bubba campers always give up. If everyone could just do this it would be fine but 10 seconds after he leaves me another one get's downed. This just isn't funny anymore.

  • @xevra said:

is it me or has killer toxicity gone up since dc penalties are back im seeing way more tunneling/camping/face camping and just over all scummy plays is it cause you guys think survivors wont dc with penalties? i was in a game where i was tunneled off a hook downed before I could even get out of the unhook animation couldnt move yet and insta downed granted the dumb ######### who unhooked me didnt have BT but randos you can never trust and killers just take advantage of someone elses mistake on another survivor why punish the person fresh off a hook for a rando's stupidity its not enjoyable to be downed when you cant even move cause ur stuck in animation

Why would it have to do with DC penalties?

I would rather think it has to do with the recent rank reset. Just play on til higher ranks and this should get less. I get tunneled too but mostly by baby killers who can't pressure without tunnelcamping.

  • Look's about right.

Now think of it. Most killers complaints are about organized SWF groups with voice comms, OOO and what not bullieng them.

If that could be stripped from the game devs could think about balancing the game a bit more in the favor of the survivors.

What is annoying from the survivor perspective is getting paired with groups that have low skill. If you have to run for hooks from the start of the game chances are much higher you run into the killer more frequently and die more often by yourself.

You don't have to be a genius looper to play good but most survivors can't either loop nor stay hidden.

The hardest matches as a killer are those where you don't find anyone. If not for info perks like tinkerer i could throw the towl against good groups, even if they don't manage to loop me all day.

I am an oni main, I've been consistently rank 1 for a long time now but I would still like some input from other oni mains. You can always improve after all. I've always run the basic b*tch oni build of BBQ, IF, M&A, Pop, but lately I've been running BBQ, IF, ruin, undying. Both of these builds stomp your average lobby. But I want to try and beat the swf.

For the really good swf teams, like 4 man swf with coms and possible object/sprint burst/ ds unbreakable, the best strategy is to play extremely safe and drop pallets early and deny oni his power. I know this is an inherent weakness of oni but do you think it is worth giving up some of his common perks for perks that let him get that first hit easier? I was thinking BBQ (I am addicted), IF (oni must perk), Pop (best single game delay perk), and maybe replacing M&A with something like brutal strength or enduring or possibly even bamboozle?

Any high level oni mains have any thoughts on this?

Not a high level oni but if you want to screw with voice comm players use IF + undying + Third seal + Knock out and go for slugging. They will pick each other up eventually, but there won't be much tactical talking left if everyone is trying to describe where they are.

But they do lmao if that was the case I’d be killed a lot more often

Dumb tech me and i tunnel you to death ;D

  • ....

I love it when survivors try to window tech me. It saves me the walk.

With more experience you can see much more. There is a ton of visual information on screen. A shadow for a split second, moving grass, a crow that starts flying in the distance. Was there a face at the bottom of the screen?

Against killers who have enough hours, these tricks don't work anymore.

However, moving left and right, 360 or survivors that run up to me and disappear for a second sometimes still confuse me.

  • And how exactly would the game decide if an unsafe unhhok was for farming or because of the killer camping? Or because of the killer comming around the corner while the unhooker already went for the unhook with no way to get to safety? Self learning AI Algorythm statistical data magic?

  • 1 killer has to bring 2 perks so he has a chance for Ruin to stay up. Survivors have 16 perk slot's. Is it realy asked too much to run anti totem builds if it botheres you so much? Where is THAT conclusion?!

  • You forget that Key's are FAR more rare as Moris are. Im sitting on tons of mori's i do not intend to use and only very few key that i don't use either. But Key's from bloodweb are not even half as common as Ebony's are.

  • Running mirror Myers at meat factory.

  • Survivors depip too when killers pick mori .... and mori killers are far more common as groups of survivors escaping the hatch.

If you are on Steam, forcing the game to run on DxLevel-9 disables AA.

Ohhhhh .... well THIS is good to know.

There are so many Unreal games that have forced TAA because Unreal doesn't provide anything else by itself. If this is correct then we could use Reshade to play Unreal games with SMAA,FXAA or any other AA method we want. Thank's! Will test it out when i find time.

  • Makes you wonder this game has a rank system.

  • Ignore the endgame chat. I have pure horrors everytime i face a hag because i know exactly that as soon as anyone is hooked everyone will run to that hook. Then i have to crouchwalk there to get them off and the first thing they do is to start running.

This is why i stopped using BT as soloQ. I actually want them to die for their stupidity. This is just how nature works. Sorting out the weaklings etc.

  • I have not played him before the nerf and i have no idea why anyone would actually bother to pick him up. I have seen some good Billy players in my time and funny enough i just tryed to play him again, but his "power" is more then underwhelming, clunky and very easy to dodge. Why the hell does he run into pallets?? I had his power going running towards a dropped pallet, but instead of slashing it like with bubba he just ran into it ... lol

I have tryed him a few times and it's always a disaster. No thanks, i stick with litterally EVERY other killer. Even baby nurse is better and more fun to play.

  • Myers is great. Yes he needs addons to be realy good but with them he is just as powerfull or even more then other killers. And he has A LOT of them. 2 very useful Reds as well as 2-3 very powerfull purples. What does Oni have? He doesn't need good addons. But if he would, he doesn't have any. Myers itself is weak but for balancing you can't think of killers without their addons. He got some of the most powerful and fun to play with addons in this game. Can't ignore that.

Tuft of hair + J.Myers Memorial = Death machine

    Judith's Tombstone + J.Myers Memorial = Death machine

Scratched Mirror + Boyfriends Memo = Stealth Killer

Tombstone Piece + J.Myers Memorial = Death machine

Vanity Mirror + Boyfriends Memo = Anti loop

Lock of Hair also gives a lot of extra time.

Show me any other killer that has this many good addons that allow for different playstyles. Hag maybe, but Hag addons are also kind of a meme. Freddy and Doc also come to mind. Freddy can switch between forever freddy and gen-kick and Doc between very strong anti loop and area effect builds. And there is the list of my favorites ^^

BTW Deathslinger is also very strong. After some issues when i started with him i am thinking of him as a viable killer on red ranks now.

  • I would like to see a new skin that is not just a color change from the base skin for less then 3€. That would be so "crazy" ....

  • @twistedmonkey said:

This is exactly why a new matchmaking is needed.

It's not hard to get and get some sort of system by looking at certain stats and I would think they are looking at multiple things within the game itself.

Hours played compared to whom you verse, length of time to go down or down someone, how many hooks/kills per game versus how many escape, skill checks hit or missed, time spent near the hook while no one is around, going after the same survivor unhooked, length of the game itself etc etc.

Each little thing within the game can and is a metric to show then how people play and how well someone plays versus another.

    SWF will screw this up.

I can play fairly well in a good team because i get a boost in confidence getting hooked and see everyone is doing gens and/or play strategically and not running around and open chests in front of the killer or take a "protection hit" when the killer only has to walk 5m to the next hook. Brainnzzzzz

  • As Killer: Slipping throu a pallet before the survivor can manage to drop it. Then blocking the pallet. Snuggle time!

You know that one gen-room with the lockers at meat factory where you can drop in from the cealing?

I had a match with Mirror Myers there and all of them started in the room above. I was watching them waiting next to the door, as they slowely crouchwalked towards the hole. I was already laughing so hard because you could read their minds going forth and back. "I KNOW this is a stupid idea!" The first drops down: Then the others dare to follow. SNAP! Door is shut and they ran in cicles xD

I then had to ask them if they had a ticket for this ride. But nope! One after another got a slap and left :D

Another time on elementary scool. You know that wall with the hole+windiw where you can jump down in the middle?

I had one survivor hooked in the middle. I stand there and look up to the hole and see a claudette. I am going forward directly under the window and somehow for whatever reason she didn't saw me and made the jump. I downed her in mid-air before she could touch the ground :D

The best of all: Grabbing a survivor from a pallet because he is trying to dumb-tech me without having me stunned. This is SOOOO enjoyable everytime :D

  • +1

At least the Ebony Mori should go or have it's power changed. Killing one survivor gives more then enough edge to make a 4k. Personally i have used Mori in like 3 matches and ever since i am sitting on a big pile of them and just don't use them. It is cheap and spoils the fun for the survivors. At the same time it brings nothing for the killers in terms of BP or PIP to use Moris. Would be interesting to know why people use it at all and i think the main reason is frustration because of bad MM. The game design of this piece of art makes me scratch my head.

  • I THINK i faced a speed hack yesterday. I have seen a few hackers over the past months but not half as many as some post here suggest. 4 or 5 maybe in a couple hundred matches. One WH Bubba, the others where survivors.

  • Same here. At least it looks cool =)

I love his animations. When you hit to soon in the heat of the moment you will do M1 instead. This can be annoying at times because when i get impatient and hit to soon it would always be a guaranteed hit if not for this.

  • Nice work!

Note: When healing with items you might want to switch healing perks with build to last and streetwise for maximum effectivity.

Botany Knowledge is the best perk because it reduces uses and adds healing speed at the same time by 33%. Build to last gives +50% on your item. Depending on item and addons, you will get the most from build to last + botany knowledge + Streetwise. Best healing build without should be self care + botany knowledge + desperate measures + exhaustion perk. In a good group self care can also be swapped with bond or empathy.

  • 33 .....

Can we make a group? The anonymous grandpas?

I think ignoring these kinds of posts exacerbate the issues with the game. When people feel ######### even when they win, your game might have some problems. He did so well he should've ended the game right then and there, but what should've been a victory got dragged out for several more minutes because of perks and perks alone. Not amazing skills or smart plays, just knowing there's nothing the killer can do to actually stop you.

You can see this happen with streamers (both big and small) as well, just so much BS resulting in a hollow, annoying victory, because a victory is rarely decisive, it's often muddled by a bunch of annoying BS.

I know to some people, just seeing that you "won" is the important part, but the really important part is having fun, and when your fun is sapped away by annoying nonsense, it can easily ruin even a win. I'd much rather take a match where I win less but have more fun. Every #########' time, dude.

It happens on the survivor side too, you hear about it here constantly. People whining that even though they escaped or even forced a 0k on some killer, camping/tunneling/ruin+undying+tinkerer/etc just made the match annoying.

The game should be full of thrills and clutch plays, not clutch perks. That goes for both sides. Every game is just inherently more satisfying when regardless of whether you win or lose, you know it was down not to some ridiculously strong nonsense, but quality play.

Sorry but how many times did perks win the match for killers?

Would he slug so many survivors if he hadn't infectious fright running? So that's fair but BT gives him tears? Sorry but i would ignore that.

I play both sides btw. Rank 1 killer, rank 4-5 survivor pending.

  • -> Flask of Bleach.

If you want to feel powerful as clown, you need the bleach.

  • You won't find any data or statistic's to this, nowhere. These informations are personal and not even steam is allowed to gather them. These age request pages you can find here and there are running memes from the times where dinosaurs walked the internet.

  • I like the idea. BUT: I want Ellie! =)

I see a lot of people talking about his record saying he won so who cares. The problem isnt balance in this case the problem is feel. This guy is amazing, far better than I am at least, he just hates the feel of some of these perks. Thats really what the issue is, the perks are designed, intentionally or not, to rob the killer of the situation. They are DESIGNED to take away the advantage of playing well and give the advantage to the survivors

Perhabs to have something to deal with situations where 4 of you get hooked in basement on 4 gens. I am a rank 1 killer too but these situations can happen. No, noobs should not face such situations. I agree with OP on that one. Maybe there could be a barrier of some kind on what rank you can use which perk, for survivors and killers alike. No NOED, Devour or Ruin for killers below 10 and the same way no DS, no BT and no Head On. I got bullied so hard and so many times as killer, it was incredible frustating. But the issue is not BT or Head On but the Matchmaking, toxic SWF groups and getting paired with people i shouldn't have played against until much much later when im ready for it.

  • It is this exact type of thread why devs don't listen to killer complaint's ................ and i wouldn't listen to this either. Can't realy blame them, sorry. Sure the game has it's issues and can be very frustration but what's worse as a sore loser is a sore winner. You should be proud to still have won the match, yet here you are, crying because the match wasn't fast enough over.

  • I think most people who complain about the aura are Blendettes who are confused why their camo doesn't work while sitting next to a totem. I also love it when i run across the map and hear bones rattle. It happens all the time. Some people are just careless in their attempt to get a few extra BP and deserve the headache that follows.

  • Play with OOO. Then you will see that the killer is very busy and doesn't have time to look around all the time if someone is near a totem. Just do it like you would with Thrill of the Hunt and wait til the killer is in a chase with someone. Very easy and you have at least a 50% chance to cleanse undying. What's the matter?

Dull totems are important to keep undying alive. Why shouldn't they be protected? They are not just there so you can grind BP. It's a killer mechanic and not meant to be free BP for survivors.

Seriously, i never understood why Hex totems have to be glowing in the first place. For years you had a big sign floating over Hex totems that say "Cleanse me". It is only fair and long overdue that Hex becomes a proper defense perk that works by it's own without having to waste 2 perk slots just to make it sometimes work.

  • DBD is Unreal. So i assume it is an engine thing for lightening. I dunno why but in some Unreal games you can find these objects of where the light is placed. Usually in the exact middle of a map. But normally you need a free control camera or something to get high enough so this will be rendered. I can be wrong though, they usually look more like UFO's as like boxes.

The MMR can be switched on and off on the backend. Allowing Killer switch in lobby is a client-side thing. So if we were to turn it on, we'd have to ship a new version for that. Then to turn it off, we'd need to ship another version. That puts these changes in the content-delivery pipeline, which would push other things out of the way. So we prefer to leave it off.

The MMR System sounds a whole lot like a self learning algorythm. What is the goal of this algorythm? Like what would the perfect MM look like? 2k? Win/Lose ratio?

Yeah I did, though I feel his teleport is to slow on startup to really have people worry about. In my experience, 9 times out of 10 the survivors have disappeared before I could to to the Gen they were at.

    You are unexperienced =)

    No offense.

At the start your camera has a slow turn. Use that turn to make out the gens that are furthest away from you. This isn't always easy but then you go straight there. On your way, listen very closely from the distance if you hear any gen noise. With a bit of map knowledge you can sometimes tell what direction they have strong pallets and approach them from that direction. From there it's a chase. Can't realy help on that. When there are 3 survivors on one gen i often get 2 hits before they can split up. then i follow one of them.

  • Bloodweb kinda depends on what YOU choose.

I have tons of moris on many killer, until i noticed that i don't play Mori because i don't like it at all. I hate it to play against mori and doingm ori myself just feels cheap and unfun. Especially when u don't get the 4k.

SO. On the last 2 killers i have leveled there is not a single red mori. Because id rather choose some brown stuff i will never use as to pick a mori.

  • I had a few Deathslinger matches today. Compared to the last time i tryed, i did pretty well and made a few good shot's.

However. Even with addons survivors often manage to break free. Especially on long distance shots there is very little chance to get a good hit. Getting a hit with Huntress is much easyer. She telegraphs more, but at least a hit is a hit and not something other survivors can squeeze in between for protection. He is fun, but doesn't have the same potential as other killers.

  • Rank 50? That's like 1/4 of the way. Do you have all perks for the killers so you can experiment with different builds and setups?

Do you have enough addons and items? If the answer is yes, they do not exit to farm them but to play with them.

I alway's say that grinding is destroying the game but from what you are saying it's you whole game. Have you mastered nurse yet? Hag? Oni? Billy? Deathslinger? Blight? PH? Spirit? Survivor?

Because i would say this is almost impossible in less then 2k hours.

  • I think you missed that he can teleport to gens. Freddy is tight gen control with tinker telepop and other helpers such as slowpoke (forever freddy) or tinker-ruin. Tinker is the most important perk on him. I almost exclusively use normal snares as info tool. Sometimes i can use them to cut down way's in a loop or when the surv is on a side with nothing behind him i can take my time to make the loop very unsafe. But usually i don't let me loop that much. Pallet snares can be a lot of fun as well.

  • I saw 3 hackers so far. 2 survivors with speed hack and a bubba with wallhack.

  • The grind ruins the fun in this game.

It would cause "meta survivors" which BHVR doesn't want, and it would allow for RIDICULOUS killer perk combos.

So that's a no from me.

Not everyone has every survivor or every killer with all perks. And we might also see more niche build. There are so manyn ice kombos for a struggeling build for example, but no one would give up using sprint burst or other meta perks he needs for his playdtyle in favor to play a build that only becomes handy against slugging. So many kombos for gen kick builds but Overcharge is never used because it's the bottom of the ladder. I can see many new combos with this.
