So, about Freddy...
I don't really get why he is one of the best killers in the game, he just feels like a down-grade to hag if I'm honest.
To even have access to his powers you have to win a chase with each survivor at least once (getting one hit is what I mean), and even then his traps' hindered effect feels neglegable to the point where the survivor can find somewhere else to loop me, also the fake pallets don't seem to fool as many people I'd like or they are only ever in play in the beginning of my chases in really inconvenient spots.
TLDR; This isn't meant to be an opinion post about how Freddy actually isn't that good, I just what to know what makes The Nightmare a Nightmare.

HIs snares can be spammed at a loop. What you do with it is put one or two around a loop while chasing a survivor and chase them in the direction of your snare. His dream projection is also very good as it gives him the ability to pressure the map easier.
I think you missed that he can teleport to gens. Freddy is tight gen control with tinker telepop and other helpers such as slowpoke (forever freddy) or tinker-ruin. Tinker is the most important perk on him. I almost exclusively use normal snares as info tool. Sometimes i can use them to cut down way's in a loop or when the surv is on a side with nothing behind him i can take my time to make the loop very unsafe. But usually i don't let me loop that much. Pallet snares can be a lot of fun as well.
Yeah I did, though I feel his teleport is to slow on startup to really have people worry about. In my experience, 9 times out of 10 the survivors have disappeared before I could to to the Gen they were at.
You are unexperienced =)
No offense.
At the start your camera has a slow turn. Use that turn to make out the gens that are furthest away from you. This isn't always easy but then you go straight there. On your way, listen very closely from the distance if you hear any gen noise. With a bit of map knowledge you can sometimes tell what direction they have strong pallets and approach them from that direction. From there it's a chase. Can't realy help on that. When there are 3 survivors on one gen i often get 2 hits before they can split up. then i follow one of them.
The difference between Freddy and Hag is that Freddy moves at 4.6 m/s and Hag moves at 4.4 m/s. This A BIG DEAL when chasing survivors.
Freddy's snares are a powerful anti-looping tool. Hag's traps are weaker at loops because they take so much longer to set. Smart survivors will just run to the next pallet.
Freddy is at his best as a chase killer who has great mobility thanks to his gen teleports. Great Hags (like myself) won't even chase survivors normally. She'll set up traps on routes survivors like to run and then corral survivors into them.
don't wait until you are in a chase to drop snares. Play those snares kind of like trapper or hag. Fake teleport to a gen a few times when you know they are on it until you think they are gonna call your bluff. Don't knock the springwood slasher or he'll move you up the list.
Freddy is the only killer in the game that pressures survivors immediately without doing anything, and he is always pressuring the survivors.
Survivors are always falling asleep unless they go to a clock, forcing them to get off gens. If they dont wake up with a clock, they can wake up other ways but they cost time. If you choose not to wake up at all, you suffer the penalties of being asleep: oblivious, the traps, the slowdown addons, freddys teleport coming back faster...
Its a lose lose lose situation when against a freddy.
