Yeah, lots of people who have iron will keep on running or walking making it easier to track them while phasing. Or go towards somewhere obvious like a pallet or window. Sometimes it's best to find somewhere to remain still. It's also important to keep in mind the map and what you're walking though. Grass/corn makes more sound and moves. While moving around in Mother's Den (Huntress's map) you make wet sloshing sounds which is very easy to hear
If we are mentioning perks, fixated can help greatly against Spirit. It increases walk speed and lets you see your own scratches making it easier to play around with scratch marks then walk away.
I always avoid grass, my point was that it really isn’t a hard counter.

I don’t need small game but it does help. I know every totem spawn except the ones on Hawkins.

I understand everybody have thier own pov but these kind of killers are needed to have some chance against tryhard swfs
Never said she needed a nerf, I think she is balanced but doesn’t have hardly any counter play, you primarily have to guess at a pallet/pretend to go to it but walk away. Strong windows work too but we don’t want those to be common enough to be true counter play.

Ofcourse if u run like a chicken u can hear footsteps iron will creates a huge room for mindgames and spirit suffers from a huge cooldown if u mess up ur power
You can still hear footsteps of walking survivors. I run iron will and it isn’t as great against her as you say.

smokers breath is worse, smells like someone died in there...it disgusts me seeing people smoking around their kids or babies and even pets ugh
I’m personally used to it, not because I live with smokers (because I don’t) but because most places you go to, someone is probably smoking.

Don't get me wrong I love this perk but it won't become meta.
It's requirements are to specific and limited. It only has 5 uses after that 5 uses it's a dead perk. However there's no way of controlling how you get those uses you would have to find a totem which isn't too hard and get into a locker.
Most of the time you would have to secure a totem pretty early on usually so you don't spend an annoying amount of time looking for one.
Now I've heard suggestion to try to make the perk better which all of them will fall flat.
Make it a token based system instead of a single-use system: sounds like a great idea on paper but then you're just going to run into people who use small games and just go and totems hunts. Basically it's going to turn into a very cut-throat hallowed blight situation
Make it work on more objectives not just totems for example like a generator you complete. Well this will also make it more useful it would make it a colossal pain in the ass for Killers
“Make it a token based system instead of a single-use system: sounds like a great idea on paper but then you're just going to run into people who use small games and just go and totems hunts. Basically it's going to turn into a very cut-throat hallowed blight situation”
I already play like this.😂 The totems belong to me and small game! >:V

I see a flaw with that.
What is Inner Strength at its core? An extra health state. Which other Perks were also pretty much just another health state and became meta albeit single use only? DS, BT and Adrenaline, all meta Perks.
I don't think the single use is enough of a reason for a Perk not to become meta if it effectively grants you an additional health state.
EDIT: Just to clarify, I'm not saying it will become meta, that's unlikely. I'm just saying that the single-use aspect does not deter a Perk from becoming meta.
If you’re hit then bt also gives you a speed boost, Adrenaline gives a five second speed boost, DS and bt can also extend a chase, inner strength mainly works outside the chase.
-
I don’t think so, playing injured is a risk vs reward kinda thing. You stay on one shot but don’t need to waste time healing.
-
@Drazen said:
literally iron will can counter her so hard like imagine one survivor perk can counter whole killer but they will still come crying on forums because they dont have slot for iron will because where would their adren bt ds and dh meta go? I have made many good spirits go chase someone else because they were not able to catch me I know how both sides work bcz I play both sides spirit is fun to go against whining on forums wont help its better to git gud
Iron Will doesn’t counter good spirits, my friend @Kabu informed me that he listens to footsteps whenever survivors have Iron Will. Spirit isn’t op but Iron Will doesn’t hard counter her.

Survivor main detected. Do you want a towel to wipe your tears? Cause there is too much crying lately
I get that you like spirit and all but people wanting balance changes (in their eyes anyway) aren’t necessarily an X main and both sides voice their opinions on topics they feel need changed, if you disagree then you can always give a constructive reason as to why you disagree.

How exactly did they "outplay me"? They just held m1 together, forcing me to give up searching for hiding survivors because discordance was constantly active, and they hugged the most broken loop in the map.
If this is the logic that we go by then killers winning isn’t outplaying survivors since they just hold w and occasionally press m2 and m1. You can make both sides sound really easy based on controls but it doesn’t make it true.
-
I think she is fine despite her small real counter play.

The only thing that stops Leatherbutt from being higher tier is his slow down on charge up. Get rid of that and boom. High mid tier killer.
At the very least, rework his Award-winning chili to do this (and make it iridescent since he doesn’t have an iridescent add on)

They don't have to be better than you, as long as you got 2 players that can loop and the other 2 do gens they're pretty much carrying you, I've done it many times cause I know if the killer goes after one of my potato teammates they're gonna go down in seconds.
I can beat survivors who know how to loop, you act as though looping is op, if that were true then killers would never win.
It sounds like those survivors still played better in the end.

@GrootDude Those two things are, indeed, the core of the problem. And yet for three years, Behavior has done very little to actually solve the issue. It requires an entire overall of the rank system, the deranking potential, and how season resets function. And Behavior, in all this time, hasn't acknowledge the issue nor done anything about it.
And therein lies the longer term problem. What is Behavior going to do when the Vets get bored enough and start moving on? It will happen at some point. They're launching on the Switch this coming week, which is fine for a surge of more money. But what next? After mobile, they're pretty much out of new platforms to milk for initial MSRP sales.
And yes, you find ways to have fun. You've also gotten Leatherface, of all killers, to be successful within Red Ranks. You are not the average, nor majority, gamer. A majority of gamers will never see Red Ranks in DbD, never mind be able to do it successfully with Leatherface.
They just want to jump in and play Slasher horror hide-and-seek, preferably with teammates, and against opponents, of comparable skill level.
The matchmaking bug comes back every now and then, it has been fixed a lot but it keeps coming back.
-
@Kilmeran said:
@GrootDude Here's the issue, and I am going to only use my own anecdotal experience based on my wide circle of real life friends and family gamers.
Most players don't want to get good in that sense. They want to jump in and have fun. Fun doesn't necessarily equate to winning, but it does equate to not being bullied or steamrolled by Vets you should not be going against in the first place.
They don't visit forums or reddits, and don't watch YouTube video guides for a game.
The other thing to consider about Dead by Daylight is why it draws in a lot of people. In a lot of instances, it's the licensed DLCs such as Myers, Leatherface, Pig, Ghostface, or Freddy, which are famous horror film icons, or one of the hottest shows on Netflix right now: Stranger Things. It isn't Legion or Nurse, or Spirit, or Plague, or those guys.
And those people want to, again, jump in and have fun. And, again, getting steamrolled by deranked or rank reset Vets is not going to be fun.
And as the SteamCharts have shown repeatedly free weekend after free weekend, and MSRP sale after MSRP sale, the new players aren't being retained. Which means they aren't having fun within their first experiences with the game.
Gamers who find a game to not be fun through their initial experiences, in a majority of cases, will not stick around long enough to get good or improve. A vast majority of the gaming consumer base are very casual gamers.
De-ranking and the matchmaking bug are problems, I personally always found ways to have fun, despite getting stomped.

"stay there"
Is not what was said. Not all killers can stay there and consistently do well. We said get to rank 1. The vast majority of killers are not high rank viable.
"The main problem I see is when people lose and lose badly they forget the game is still dependent on who you are versing and sometimes a set of players can be just better than you."
3/4 of the killer roster at rank 1 will lose every single time against an equally skilled group of rank 1 survivors. This is because the majority of killers have to rely on survivor mistakes to capitalize. If they don't make mistakes you lose. The few viable killers are the ones that can make plays regardless of survivor mistakes.
Literally everyone makes mistakes, survivors and killers included. Being good at the game doesn’t change human nature.

It is always frustration vs dedication. Not many are dedicated enough for getting stomped so often (and especially so brutal), that they stay. At least not how it is right now. DBD needs new players, this matchmaking does not promote that by any means.
The bug needs fixed but I don’t think a lot will leave, it is kinda expected to get stomped when starting to play an online game, at least for me.

I totally agree with this. If I was a new killer, I would be disappointed if I kept getting matched with rank 2 survivors but tell your friends whats happening so they dont rage quit ir just quit because of this bug.@xEa
Whenever I started, rank reset put everyone back at rank 20. I started during a rank reset and of course I didn’t win very much at all but I stayed, because I knew that I’d have to get crushed to get better.
Matchmaking bug needs fixed of course, but people who are willing to improve will stay.

If ever implemented if they had the option for it be disabled from settings then I wouldnt complain. That way both sides would get what they wanted and one wouldnt have to deal with closing said chat after every single game.
An option in the settings would be good too.
-
I’d just like post-game chat, it’d be nice for those of us that want it and people who don’t want it could just close the chat.
