Well i guess i'm more support than anything, my main build is a little weird.
I use Any Means Necessary until the day people realise how busted and dare i say low-key OP that perk is, it allows you to track chases and used pallets across the map unlike WoOs 32m range and reset them too which will often take Killers by surprise during a chase later, its WoO 2.0 if you have good enough map knowledge to know vault spots and pay attention rather than auto-pilot like most WoO users.
Other than that i use We'll make it for saves and quick heals and lightweight cause with this build you are running around a lot and this makes it quite a bit safer and gives you some opportunities for some jukes.
4th perk is more or less a wildcard like OTR, Bond or Distortion.
-
Because the game finally recognized that Thana does so little that its not even worth the red bar lol.
Jokes aside this is a nerf though, the biggest advantage of Thana was coaxing people to heal more often than they otherwise would, because many people just get pressured mentally by that red bar, now its gone lol.

Following up to the last sentence. Give Artist that bug too.
Also unnerf Pyramid Heads cake and give him the bug too. He never deserved that massive nerf.

I feel like Dredge daytime teleport is actually quite good because the slower movement means you can much better listen to noise as you travel and get a good idea where everyone is. And comparing it to Xeno or Demo by movement speed alone does not give you a good idea about his teleport being better or worse.
Demo has to manually set teleports which takes time and must go to one to use it.
Xeno doesn't need to set up but still has to manually enter and its only in few predetermined spots.
Dredge even during daytime when he is at his weakest can just use whenever and where ever he wants with only a very low cooldown (12 by default, 8 with an add-on), only limited by lockers which are more numerous than Demo/Xenos limited tunnels, and he got a power-spike which allows you to find survivors easily and is so fast he is virtually omnipresent, not to mention it has very good synergy with a lot of perks.
I feel like the only buffs he could need are more evenly distributed lockers and maybe make his most effective add-ons partially basekit, especially malthinkers skull which is probably the best yellow add-on in the game.

I dont have SM (yet) but looks like it have good stealth with addons.
To me at this point, as long is not OP (and is not the case) or have an unhealthy gameplay (3 gen chessmerchant) its OK and looks even fun.
May be i buy this new Chekers Merchant if we have a discount this october.
ITs really not OP, you need to drop drones constantly for it to work, which means drones are typically in bad positions and you can't gain bloodlust, and is somewhat map dependant. Its a nice thing to catch someone you saw with an aura or something off guard once in a while though.
If you like Hag or Trapper you might enjoy the new Skully, if you don't like trap Killers then you will have to look somewhere else.

i think my main issue with current merchant is not enough drones. 6 drones is too little. it is like trapper 2.0 where he used to carry 1 trap and had 6 traps on the map. there is not enough drones to corral survivors into drones on a tactical scale however...the survivor i am playing against are just running into drones and acquiring random claw traps. I don't understand. Like i am not doing anything as killer and the power is gaining value. as a result, I am just major confused when playing skull merchant.
Like I was expecting skull merchant to be extremely bad and yet I am somehow winning.
Remember that the closest thing we have is Hag, who has a very low pick-rate and its been years since we got a trap type of Killer, hell if i remember correctly the last comparable Killer was the Freddy post-rework. So it might take people to get used to it because the low pick-rate of trap Killers conditioned people to just run around without looking or thinking that much.
For now i enjoy her, especially with Blood Echo because that is a hard-counter to the stay injured with MfT strat that is going on.

Her drones shouldn't disable when she walks underneath them. If you try using it at a loop but keep walking back into it, you screw yourself over. I don't know why this isn't already the case.
While its true that its a bit stupid, i found it more effective to put it a few meters way from a loop at a position where it cuts of a route too. A good tip is to put it at the loop towards the direction of main building/shack and force them to either get scanned or run away somewhere a bit more favorable, especially the open if you can.

i don't even understand how this power is even working. I put drones down at random places and survivor gets randomly injured across the map. the power is doing stuff but i have zero understanding to why it is working. I cannot imagine this being effective long term. this has to be novelty or am I just facing brand new survivors. so random.
Yes right now people play quite carelessly against her. I went up against some meta-loaded 4 man swfs and won because of that. I think its like Sadako where it might take a while to come to a conclusion on where she stands.
If you ask me, i think the fast activation time change is a step in the wrong direction, they should revert it and make the stealth mode scan a tiny bit faster. But i still do like her now, its been a good while since we got a trap Killer that doesn't suck. And i'm saying it as someone who very much hated Skull Merchant and trashed her on this forum btw.
-
Change frequently, my usual go to strategy is to just eat pallets early on so survivors think i just crash through them so they will be more likely to drop it and are more vulnurable to mind games later on.
-
Ultimate weapon, Infectious Fright, Thwack or Iron Maiden, Distressing and both Calm add-ons for maximised TR so no one escapes these perks.
-
Totems, Hooks and Freddys Dream Pallets/Snares for some reason.
-
Few questions:
Whats up with lethal pursuer? Am i missing something? I never equipped it unless i go full aura build for the 2 extra seconds, i always found Darkness Revealed or Discordence work well enough finding survivors early.
Where are all the Wraiths? I live in the EU and don't see them that much, not nearly as much as Huntress or Legion, is that a thing outside of EU or am i just not getting matched with them?
Self care top 6?
I am just glad that people actually play who they like and not what people tell them or choosing by strength at this point. I love going against Ghostface personally so i'm glad he is so high.
-
Just let him pick his traps from lockers, Huntress and Trickster already do it, there is no reason not to do it. I mean the recent buffs were nice but it doesn't fix the core issue.
Slapping haste on everything is pretty much just the Killer equivalent of slapping endurance on bad survivor perks.
-
@CLHL said:
The game is able to detect when a bodyblock has been performed, there are achievements and perks that count them, so it's possible to disable the endurance when used with this intention. But I wouldn't expect them to change it.
That'd be stupid cause taking the hit is valid if the unhooker is also injured. However if someone takes the hit for a healthy survivor then its completely on them when they get downed and hooked again.
-
It gave me a laugh but then triggered a memory where i accidently put metal primer in my sauce cause i didn't pay attention to the labels therefore 0/10
-
Doesn't it release with the event on the 18th? There is still some time till then. No need to get impatient.
Also not a lot needs to be changed, Sadako went from rivaling Trapper as the worst during the PTB to a decent spot with just a few small adjustments, just let them figure out which ones they are.
The only disappointment so far which i think won't make it in time are the bad perk changes.
-
Thrilling Tremors, its both a stalling and info perk at once and can't be countered by perks like Distortion.
Not to mention that a few Killers like Doctor can use it in a very nasty way.
-
They all have counters though, if survivors don't utilise them then they don't get to complain about fun. Its not that hard to check nearby loops for traps, especially Hag just sprint when she picks someone up to check/disable traps for later its that easy.
-
The meta won't change much if at all.
-
A good Idea, Apex Legends got something similar so that isn't crazy at all.
-
I remember back when WGLF was released, David King was by far the most OP Killer in the game, he got a 3k at minimum every game.

If we get Jason, it will be necessary. One of his main powers is killing people who are trying or having sex. Ask Kevin Bacon.
r/deadbydaylight members will be immune from Jasons power every match.

Is saying Nurse is a superior Killer to Trapper a subjective statement?
The Rework isn't even released yet, and even further it may take time (as in, actual months) for a character to settle in. For example Sadako was considered complete trash for quite a while until the condemned strat was perfected, she climbed the tier list and then got reworked, and the reception was that she was trash after the rework as well, in fact worse than Skull Merchant during this PTB. Only small handful of changes were needed to change that. The same was there for a few other Killers too, even Xenomorph.
Don't portray yourself as this beacon of objectivity and logic when you are clearly biased, you aren't a vulcan or a machine, just someone with little patience throwing a tantrum on something not even released, it just makes you look dumb.
-
The Clown's yellow bottle need to have a bit of activation time, the more you play him the more you use them, especially further and ahead of time and with a lower activation timer it'd cause Survivors to get a speedboost with little risk.
Pig also needs its stealth buffed.

I made an adjustment with her Monster slayer outfit.
Yes, you are going to drive up the skin price to 100 bucks for a skin and i feel like no ones going to complain.
-
It'd be actually funny if they once changed it so it prevents maps rather than force them completely unannounced, the fallout of confusion and rage would be hilarious.
-
I know this pain but the game does not have cross progression yet. You can create an account on their main page and sync it up and hope it will be released one day though. I wish BHVR would give us an update on this though.

speak for yourself, Tracking survivors with a Radar is the coolest shiz
What are you talking about, i actually defended the rework, its great given the circumstances, its just a little weak and needs some buffs, but that is exactly why she is in a public beta test. She is a trap Killer so many people won't like her and its okay, only the people who like playing as or against trap based Killers actually matter if you think about it, not the people who actually thought a Killer placing drones gets a complete chase based rework and turn out to be Wesker 2.0 and got disappointed.
-
Complaining about her when her rework isn't even released yet because patience is bad.
Shameless. Truly shameless.
Okay for real people, this game has over 30 Killers. Stop expecting to like everything, and all of BHVRs effort being put on those who you like.
-
I agree, perks that encourage spreading the love a bit like No Way Out and Grim Embrace can be healthy even if they are a little stronger than most. Something that is really unhealthy for the game for example is Remember Me (and the obsession mechanic), you really don't want to live in a world where Remember Me gets viable without getting the obsession mechanic removed cause it demands tunneling to work.
-
If we get the promised Artist swimsuit skin then sure you will get my support.
-
Grab a tape, you're immune from global condemned, something that apparently most people don't realise. She is not as great as people make her out to be once you know the counterplay.
-
"Noo don't give skins to Killers that i don't like even if they don't have as many as other ones!"
All future skins should go to Jeff, Pinhead and Artist because i play them, it just makes sense.
If anything Hux, Knight, Twins and Hag should get more. I would say Dredge but Dredge cosmetics are the definition of quality over quantity so i'm fine with him getting so few.
-
@GensByDaylight said:
Is Knight broken?
His guards are slightly bugged, but honestly a lot of killers have lots of bugs.
I don't think that'd fall under "broken".
Not really, played with him a few matches and a guards did some weird shenanigans like once or twice a match, sometimes in my favor and sometimes actually for the survivor, its something that needs to be looked at but far from broken.
Twins is way buggier, i remember instantly dying with Victor because i hit some slight bump or something and it detected me being on something, randomly getting stuck, unable to move after switching back to Charlotte, not seeing Victors aura after hitting a healthy survivors, Victor not being able to bodyblock and not being able to switch at all. Not to mention the pointless cooldowns that promotes slugging and her power being useless on healthy survivors unless you want to grief yourself.
-
Not trying to defend them, its the last thing i'd like to do because the mere thought of a Reddit mod invokes thoughts in me that would get me banned really damn quick if i posted just a fraction of it here. Just the things you get from people who take responsibility without compensation outside of charities. But can you post evidence cause some of that are quite the accusations.
-
Okay hear me out: 40K Necron Skin for Hux
-
Sometimes it works for me but with a long cooldown, i'm not even sure if its time based or distance based. And that is unironically the only thing about twins that seems to be consistant.
0.61% pick rate on Nightlight seems to be really inflated considering i only seen them once in like 5-6 months.

finding a TV that isn't turned off by her constant teleport spam can be quite difficult, especially on larger maps like mothers dwelling or maps with complex layouts like RPD
Just start counting from 30 after game start and then be next to one when the game starts, you can still get some gen progress or whatever, she can only get 1 guy IF she guessed correctly and you turn off TVs meaning Sadako can't teleport next to you. Mid-late game just grab them of a gen that was done cause Sadakos don't like teleporting to TVs far away from survivors. Its really not that hard.
-
Thing is that you need to use the traps to beat loops. Think of Hag as a mix between Spirit and Trapper, its really hard to loop a Hag that is prepared and knows how to beat them.
I think Hag needs minor changes like infinite teleportation range but 115 isn't it because it won't help her, if you get looped with 110 speed as Hag cause you don't know how to defeat loops as her then you will also just get looped with 115 like many basic Killers.
-
Its often better to drop god pallets early if it means to you prevent Killers from getting an early down, the early game is the most important phase for the Killers so dropping a god pallet early can often lead to a win. You see in comp that survivors have no problems dropping them early in tournaments if it means that Killers get their first hook delayed by even just a bit.
-
Or just make him like Huntress/Trickster and let him take traps from his lockers. I'm pretty sure no new player ever lost a game because grabbing new hatchets from a locker was somehow complicated and counter intuitive. If anything it makes it easier to understand for new players.
-
Worst thing is there are a few perks in the game that actually would become much better with a few numbers changes, like Oppression, I'm All Ears, Thrilling Tremors, Gearhead, Grim Embrace.

Ah, I didn't start playing till 2021, so I missed that. I wonder why Trappers keep setting one up to catch deliverance?
Probably new players that don't know that. It shouldn't work unless there is a bug.
-
Any that are active including exposed.
In other words, just use Sloppy Butcher, its permanent and easy.
-
Tombstone should be nerfed along with vanity mirror, not because its OP but because i want burger king myers back.
Also don't touch Rusty Shackles unless you want me to fly to Canada and commit some upperdeckers at BHVR.

Is that a new change? As I currently see Trappers placing one down to stop Deliverance. Although I've never actually seen whether it works or not.
It was fixed in 2017 if i remember correctly. He has a small minimum range and survivors get like 2 seconds invulnurability from bear traps after unhook.
-
@CatnipLove said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3545139#Comment_3545139
Can you elaborate?
He can't place under hooks.
-
- A million bugs
- A million cooldowns making them feel clunky.
- Requires survivors to be injured to use their power for a chase unless you want to give up your power for a good while.
-
I didn't expect Huntress out of all Killers to get a buff.
Skull Merchant now looks quite interesting, if they would increase the undetectable duration after leaving the area i think we have something interesting.
Deathslinger should get a 24m lullaby and real iron sights.
-
@CatnipLove said:
Now I think about it, what if Trapper just sets a trap in front of the hook? Endurance doesn't help with that, right? So Trapper could just ignore the anti hook camping mechanic?
He can't.
