You shouldn't pick Undetectable over Blindness for no reason. Yes Blindness is weak (except against Solo Q) and undetectable is better under most circumstances but it still depends on your build and plan. If you wanna delay saves and waste time, blindness is typically better. You can also bait them into destroying trapped Hex totems like Haunted Grounds by using Hex the Third Seal. Not to mention that Blindness is better on Killers that either so loud and huge that undetectable means much less (Huntress, Nemesis etc.) or have undetectable already in their kit like Pig, Skull Merchant, Ghostface etc.

Lets laugh about myself: Here is me failing my flashlight safe because I used Drama, pooped another Flashlight while doing the safe and interrupting the beam like the crackhead I am... But man I was mad when that happened. 😂
Okay that was hilarious. Dramaturgy is my favorite perk for so many dumb reasons. I failed quite a few saves because of the scream. It either carries you and the entire team hard or griefs you.
-
Breakdown is one of the perks that should get a complete rework with nothing left of the original. Yes its weak but incredibly inhealthy, imagine if Remember Me got buffed so it takes 2 minutes to open the gate, that would cause most Killers to go ahead and tunnel the hell out of the obsession from the start of the match. Some perks just need to go.
-
The rework isn't actually that noticeable, its still bad.
-
You just listed the Killers that you like and don't , your list makes no sense at all.
Hag, who has no ability to get damage passively, doesn't have to chase but Trapper who actually gets passive downs does?
Knight doesn't technically have to chase either, he can down people standing still and relying on a guard, its just about never going to happen.
Ghostface doesn't have to chase, he can sneak up on you, expose and down you before you can actually do anything without Sprint Burst. I like playing against him because he actually doesn't have to chase, i love the paranoia and tension.
Lets be honest here for a minute, you just wanted to list the Killers which you like and don't like, which by itself is fine because anyone can dislike any Killer for about any reason and can talk about it. Just don't make a list of nonsense that just isn't true to justify it.
-
Just make it that map offerings actually prevent maps not force them, no other game lets you pick a map for very good reasons, at best you can ban some and hope for good RNG.
-
I got accused of griefing for "downing myself" because i tried to plot twist, no one healed me but they kept reviving me against my will.

Yeah something like that happened back when i was playing on the PS5, someone raged at me for not doing gens, but became instantly polite and nice when i told him i was the Killer which was very funny to me.

I actually liked the loot boxes because you were able to get everything in them just from playing the game. They were basically a way to speed up the grind or for players who couldn't play long enough to get everything. I played OW so much before OW 2 came out that I almost always had a lot of loot boxes available from leveling up. Even still I would sometimes buy loot boxes just to get certain skins I wanted faster during holiday events. I remember one time I saved up 200 loot boxes from playing just to say I did it. 😁 It took me over an hour to open them all so I never did that again.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/U3BBEOVQ7VUF/screenshot-20-07-22-01-41-46-000.jpg
OW 2 just felt like a huge monetization update to the game with less fun content. 5v5 was something I don't think anyone wanted. Reworks and nerfs ruined several characters for me like Wrecking Ball and Bastion. The new stat UI and rank system looked weird to me. There was just too much different from before. After awhile, I just lost almost all interest in the game. I log in from time to time and play a few matches, but I just can't get into it like I did before. It really sucks because OW used to be my favorite game.
Loot boxes work actually kinda well if they are tied to gameplay and not monetized, same thing why you don't hear any complains on them in R6 Siege, where you get lootboxes that you can't buy with money just for playing games to the end, it works to reduce the grind and discourage DCing.
The 5v5 is something i never understood, tanks were kinda miserable before, now its just insufferable, only a few are worth anything and in the same time as the only tank you carry a huge responsibility and get blamed pretty much every game for losing even if everyone else in the team was way worse than you. I feel like they only done it because they hoped they'd grab players from Valorant, Counter Strike or R6 Siege and made it 5v5 so its a bit more familiar for them rather than gameplay. They could fixed most problems regarding balance in OW1 in a 6v6 format by changing a few mechanics, such as introducing "sub-tanks" (non shield heroes) that can't feed revenge for example.
-
I think its partially true, it was however a very stupid decision to go on an AMA if you don't have much info to give to begin with. They could have just released a blog post with what they can actually tell us.
However the biggest disappointment was the lack of features, QoL and the complete and utter disregard in changes that'd benefit new players. Such as buffing general perks and perks belonging to free characters (Huntress and Wraith have awful perks for example), and no reducing the price for older non-licensed DLC is not really helping as much as many believe, sure its a good thing and better than nothing but its still MANY hours of gameplay till they can afford enough to have a decent set of perks that don't suck.
Its so bad i warn people not to buy this game unless they are willing to spend time and effort into something they may not end up liking, and i'm saying this as a Warhammer 40K player so this means something!
There are many optional things they could add such as a crosshair, seeing loadouts in the lobby/loading screen (just make them toggeable options and most of the arguments against them disappear completely).
Judging by the survey i atleast have hopes for cross-progression and new gamemodes so yes there is some good coming but they got bad priorities.
-
I play so many team based games like R6 Siege that i like Killer on DBD so i don't have any teammates. Its a nice change of pace.
Maybe its a hot take but most of my frustrations regarding Solo Queue aren't from balance. I really don't judge or care what Killers pick or do unless they go full 4 slowdown perks and tunnel the first guy they see at 5 gens. Most of my frustrations come from other survivors, and i don't mean mistakes that many don't know better or simply mean well like helping you up when you use Plot Twist.
I absolutely hate survivors that do things that goes against all common sense like leading the Killer back to the hook. I saw multiple times this day alone that a survivor brought the Killer during a chase back to the hook, tries to unhook in his face and complains about camping in the endgame chat.

The soul of Overwatch died the day OW 2 went live.
I never thought I'd say this but they made something worse than lootboxes. How do you ######### up monitization and the grind to the point its so hostile people want loot boxes back? Thats not even to say about the gameplay changes which just made it more frustrating and more strict for everyone.

The pallets on this map are the least of your worries. Most of them are unsafe. It's the rooms that have catwalks which completely eat your time as killer.
As for your pictures, both of those rooms are the exact same as when the map was first introduced. The top one is a brute force room. The second is easily in the killers favour, but again, the catwalks in that room are the real time eater
Yeah i remember that, maybe i repressed the memories from that map. I really hate it.
It wasn't as much of a problem this match because i was playing Pyramid Head but M1 Killers would probably have a real bad time with these spawns if survivors know how to use them correctly.

"Overwatch 2 is actually depressing" would sum up the game pretty much.

I keep trying to use Empathetic Connection with Autodidact with hopes of getting a "Come to me my child" build going...
So far it's been maybe 1 game out of 30 games where it has actually done something and my team has figured out to come to me for heals... the rest of the time I finish the game sat on 2 stacks 😭
Edit: more often than not it leads to rage when said teammates can see my aura working on a 90% complete generator in the middle of a 3 gen, and decides to bring the killer straight to me.... it's like I know you can see me man!!!! 🤬
I tried to use the same build but it ended up with getting sandbagged way to often.
My favorite perk combo is Chemical Trap + Flashbang + Blast Mine. It has no specific reason other than being the most evil survivor build there is.

Honestly the community is not the best at asking questions I wish they would do more developer updates instead so they can actually talk about things they're allowed to.
Whats the point of doing AMA when they know full well they can't answer many if not most of the questions that will come inevitably. They should just make more frequent forum/blog posts instead.

I'm glad they are okay with people using crosshairs, and I might consider using one on Slinger now, but it sucks for the console players who don't have that option. If they are ok with it then they may as well make it optional so everyone gets the option to use them not just PC.
Funny thing is there is already a crosshair in the game, survivors get one when affected by Clowns gas so it shouldnt be hard to implement.
-
I too have seen an increase, and the strangest thing is i did not see a Plague or Legion using it.
Not calling it OP, on the contrary it sucks so im just curious on why that is.
-
@ratcoffee said:
Yeah, game immersion is not really a thing past the first couple of hours. Maybe BHVR was hoping they could maintain it but it's just not gonna happen. They should face the music and add crosshair options base kit
Yeah, the same reason people stop being scared after a few hours. Also (indirectly) promoting cross-hairs via 3rd party but also not adding the option as base only hurts newer players, console players etc. which is also not really ideal.
-
Or remove all current bloodweb items from chests and replace them all with a stronger "chest-tier" items which you are not allowed to keep like Flashbangs. I think this would make the game more interesting and fun while buffing chests a bit.
Perks could also be changed to help with that, as Risidual Manifest, Scavenger and Pharmacy would also give you the strongest version of an item in the game and hopefully increase the pick rate.
-
Tracking and undetectable perks, one of my favorites on Wesker is Trail of Torment, maybe give that one a try since it does both provide info and undetectable.
-
I mean i really believe perks that encourage going after everyone and spreading the love like Grim Embrace should be really powerful as its healthy for the game overall. But this is going a bit to far. Maybe make it like Rancor and lets you kill the obsession within like 30-40 seconds.

I mean all of these killers needs some help except the Hag and Huntress. So i really don't know why these 2 are here. I don't think they needs some buffs or needs some nerfs. They are just fine.
Demo can take some little buffs and QoL changes.
Doctor? I really don't know. Maybe some add-on changes?
Now Clown is definetely deserves some help.
Pig 100% deserves some good buffs.
We have to wait sadly.
Hag definitely needs some changes, her kit is good strength wise but there are unhealthy aspects.
Her ability encourages 3 genning, camping and tunneling by having limited range, on big maps if you put traps in high traffic areas, loops or spread them out across the map only to be out of range then you can't blame (especially new-) Hags for doing these strats when game mechanics almost force you to do it.
The changes i would give are:
- Teleport range is now infinite.
- Teleport range add-ons now increase trap count.
- Traps can no longer be set within 12m of hooked survivors.
- A small add-on pass on her brown and yellow add-ons.
With these changes we'd buff and encourage Hags to be more aggressive and use traps more creatively in chase while discourages camping a bit. Her traps are actually very good in chase if you think outside the box, a tip from someone who mained Hag for a year: Many traps are best used without teleporting.
-
If you want my opinion, yes the games are boring, its very gimmicky and predictable. Its one of many horror games that has trouble building and maintaining any sort of tension so when the novelty wears off it has very little left.
I have seen better horror in non horror games (the Ocean House in Vampire The Masquerade still haunts me).
-
No, simply because people would get used to it, its great that a lesser played character got it as a trolling add-on so it catches and messes with people. Once i thought something was wrong with my headset and i mained Hag for like a year, its that unusual.
-
Have you seen DBD Twitter? If they involve any further than the poor employee running their social media better hopes that their insurance covers a broken soul.
-
There are more important issues.
- Sound being an add-on. Seriously i rely more on sounds than my eyes, and this is very disorienting for me, and on top of making it uncomfortable to play for me the add-on also has a downside, making you spend more time than you often should just for sounds. Just make sound basekit without the 0.5 second penalty and rework that add-on.
- Being balanced around infections, seriously that is something thrown on top that can be removed. Just remove the infection and make the overclock last a little longer to compensate. I feel like this would benefit both sides while making his kit a little less bloated and more streamlined.
- The inconsistant pods, sometimes you see a the survivors ankle and you can infect and teleport to them, other times it gets blocked by them stepping on grass or a branch that not even hides 5% of their body.
-
-
I feel like she is mostly fine, the lower kill rates on some Killers are more of a map issue. Singularity and Billy being also big victims of this.

R6S and For Honor are both from Ubisoft.
To add to this, For Honor licenses (few they had) were a little more generous, and the DBD Event was so generous and awesome it to this day is considered the best event they ever had. I doubt with that effort they went "yeah you get charm only lol".

I always check her perks and add-ons, the last maybe 3 or 4 matches she has had nothing that would reveal my aura but I'm reading her power now. See the second to last paragraph? "... and reveal nearby Survivors using Killer Instinct."
What counts as "nearby" ? 10 meters, 20? Maybe that's what's happening to me?
The thing is I'll be alone, nowhere near a generator or hooked survivor, and then I get hit with a swarm.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/32R49Y0D1M9O/20231128-165425.jpg
nearby means around 2m miss, not much really, you'd definitely know.
-
It'd be good if you'd post screenshots of the perks. Most importantly keep in mind there are more subtle info perks that can't be countered by Distortion, which is important cause they tend be very good on Artist, best one is Discordance.
If you think Artist is using more than one to check on things, rather than offense, then she can't hit you in time for a follow up bird, keep it in mind and don't panic if you get swarmed if you think she used multiple ones. Many newer Artists tend to use multiple ones, and the more experienced one usually use one at a time so they can capitalise on swarms.
-
I personally don't use it nor care if anyone does, however i do recognize its an advantage to turn it on.
I think it'd be good if Killers would get some QoL Hud changes as well, such as hook states and toggleable crosshair (Before anybody complains, its standard with most monitors these days, might as well equalize the playing field a bit).

I am fine if they buff both perks to be viable by their own. But i am not with the people who just want to kill these perks.
Rght now, if BHVR break this combo both perks will be garbage to use alone. If they take care this problem, i am not against to nerf this combo.
Exactly, for example they can make it incompatible with Buckle Up but also allow you to pick yourself up if you get downed during broken, allowing you to help someone getting tunneled without the risk of getting slugged for long time.
-
I could easily make a list of perks on both sides that are heavily slept on, some really great perks that see little usage for some reason.
For Killers: Thrilling Tremors (probably my most used perk), Hex Face the Darkness, Blood Echo, Gift of Pain, Surveillance, Oppression, Forced Hesitation, Monitor & Abuse, Trail of Torment.
Survivors: We'll make it, Flashbang, Dramaturgy, Plot Twist, Open-Handed, Parental Guidance, Pharmacy (just make it reveal chest auras pls), Reactive Healing, Troubleshooter, Any Means Necessary (that one is especially great info perk, it shows which pallets were used and where chases take place on top of resetting them).
-
That depends on how you play them and against who.
If you play against a group that relies on Flashlights or Sabo its more of a detriment since caging them both denies it and forces them to run across the map after following you, not to mention sometime survivors not give you exactly a choice.
Otherwise it depends on how much you tend to use the cages, i use them as much as possible and try to force them so for me all perks that are related to hooking don't really work.

@Maelstrom808 said:
I disagree that only iri should radically change playstyle. If it only gives a powerful effect, sure. However, something like Prayer Tablet on Plague is fine for a brown. It is a major change to playstyle as it adds a powerful ability, but also has a significant nerf as well. Some killers I only really enjoy with a significant change to how they play from an addon, and having to dump a million bp into a killer just to fish for a couple of addons to play it how you like sucks.
Again, if it changes the play style by just a big ability buff sure, but if it also nerfs the killer hard in other areas, no it should be a more easily obtained item.
Can't agree more, we need more Prayer Tablet type brown add-ons, its a real game changer that really changes the playstyle and build a lot while still being actually viable. When paired with perks that punish survivors for staying injured you can really put them in a tricky spot, either heal and stay away from generators for a long while or risk Plague snowballing with perks like Blood Echo, Alien Instinct or Hysteria.
-
People sleep on Gift of Pain, the only counter after it activates is to try and take a hit which can waste more time depending how far they have to go or live with the downside. The only real downside is that Scourge Hooks aren't spread out and sometimes have really bad RNG.

I've always liked Hysteria, Pop , Gearhead, Forced Hesitation.
I've tried to use Machine Learning on her with her Iri gen puke addon but get no value most of the time.
The trick is learned is to puke on all gens except the ones with Machine Learning when there are multiple healthy survivors still around, it should work like Eruption on multiple gens though.
