I'm going for Chucky for the afore-mentioned reasons. That knife is absolutely the type of knife he used and - in line with the silly sense of humour - Chucky needs a chair to reach it. After Naughty Bear arrived, I'm more okay with Chucky coming in.

It could also be young Michael Myers.

  • Whats even the point of a casual mode? There is no real rank in this game. Do people really want a game mode where all players are forced to play meta only and pretend every game is a tournament final with a price involved?

Now that i think of it, its a really good idea, let them remove themselves from anyone else.

Are you? You literally had to sign something before playing DBD?

You actually did, you just deny it. Hell this game even allows you to re-read what you had signed and revoke your consent in the options ingame, it locks you out of the game but you can do it.

Signing a contract ≠ legally binding

  • Tried looking up and found nothing, just most likely someone coping here.

  • Hot take:

No, many people actually do not want that, i don't even think they understand that they don't.

People want the Killers they like to be picked and no one else. Its very evident even in this thread, something we have to accept is if we want the game to be balanced, we will have to live with Killers we don't like having a similar pick rate to those we don't. Everyone who argues "Yeah anyone but (insert Killer here they don't like for subjective reasons)" can't be taken seriously nor sound regarding balance. Just see the amount of people who claim a Killer they don't like is objectively bad purely for reasons that are completely subjective, i personally blame some content creators for spreading this rot.

Imagine a CoD player leaving bad reviews on fighting or RTS games claiming they are bad when in reality he doesn't even know how to judge the game by its mechanics, themes, style etc. and simply wrote a bad review because he doesn't like the game genre (which by itself is fine btw), that is how many here act.

  • Flashbang + Parental Guidance + Smash Hit + Iron Will or Lightweight

Camp the first pallet you see in the dumbest way possible, let them hit you under it then completely disappear, its not that effective overall but its funny when Killers start catching on your antics and hesitate getting that free hit under the pallet.

You literally didn't have to sign anything. You have to click on a agree button that isn't legally binding.

I have seen Reddit lawyers dropping better takes, i'm impressed.

I don't mind the loud pain noises

What I don't understand is the people that want Rebecca's hit sound (not the injured grunts, the sound that plays when the survivor gets hit) to be changed/shortened, because I think she has the longest hit sound in the game, lasting for like 5 seconds. I found it pretty cool.

Do you know that scene in Reservoir Dogs where Mr. Blonde cuts off a cops ear in a torture session?

I feel like that cop every time i have to play against Rebecca and i could swear Rebecca mains know that because they tend to follow me around while they are injured.

  • Adrenaline waking survivors up and maps revealing Freddy's traps and dream pallets, i don't know why but Freddy gets completely arbitrary extra downsides for no reason.

Hag having a limited range on teleportation, not only is it unnecessary but it also incentivizes 3 genning and camping so its a lose-lose for everyone.

Dude.. The guy is joking, because those perks got nerfed to the ground and are barely used anymore, which is a good thing because they were overtuned.

Well i disagree with the Ruin nerf, it was a lot healthier than most if not all other gen perks cause it required you to move around and be aggressive to get any value, unlike say Deadlock it can't activate while camping or tunneling someone and thats why i liked it, it was Undying that made it a little to much.

oh wow. that is even worse then i thought. I only tried that perk on release when nemesis came out on twins. your right. my bad. regardless. it is a bad perk. i would not use it.

Its underrated on Killers that benefit from hit and run. Oni, Legion, Dredge and Plague especially can use it well, but Plague is the exception to almost everything in this game.

  • I don't think you understand what the words improvisation and mistakes mean but that aside.

Trickster was and still is weak, however the fact you don't like his weapons is purely a YOU issue, its subjective. Gameplay wise he stood little out and there was little reason to pick him over Huntress or Deathslinger, in fact there still won't be much.

Reduce the 4.6 back to 4.4 m/s and give him Ricochet Blades and work around that. Its a buff that affects his lethality in maps where he currently sucks and makes him stand out in the Roster, also a LOT more fun to play and play against than just buffing his numbers, which won't change the main issue about him having a weird spot in the game.

  • @drsoontm said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3577056#Comment_3577056

I think the only reason Trickster gets this change is because he is so slow at damaging survivors.

I think it would have been better to make Ricochet Blades basekit and do some changes around that instead, it increases his skill ceiling, makes him more lethal at many loops and maps he currently suffers from and a lot more fun to play and play against imo than a 4.6 Trickster with fast main events.

Not to mention then he'd actually be worthy of the name Trickster and stood out more in contrast to Deathslinger and Huntress.

  • I don't think Deathslinger even needs that many changes, he is not that bad by any means, he could use some QoL to make him a lot better to play, same with some other Killers like Hag, Pyramid Head, Singularity. Like i said, some proper iron sights, 24m lullaby and add-on changes would go a very long way for him.

  • That one is probably possible since they did a crossover with R6 Siege with legendary skins.

  • Just give Deathslinger 24m lullaby, change the TR based addons and proper iron sights, that'd be a good start.

Its almost like PTB exists for a reason and to test these changes before they go live.

Exactly, i will camp and tunnel with it on the PTB to see how bad it is. If only PTB stood for public test build...

  • No its correct, 6 blades to charge, less with add-ons, i believe it could turn really bad cause there won't be stopping him from tunneling since he will easily eat through any healthstates of anyone trying to stop him and keep up more easily with 115%. We will have to see.

I will definitely camp and tunnel a few games with the Waiting for you Watch and Fizz Spin Soda/Tequila Moonrock combination just to see how bad it is.

  • @jayoshi said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3574895#Comment_3574895

Yeah, but he now throws four blades per second instead of three. That's why they increased it. Plus being able to get main event so quickly, having to hit them 8 times is not going to be noticeable at all. Plus when you factor in a trickster bringing the add-on where the blades bounce off of walls and they bring you to an indoor map. That's going to be... fun

I dont think Ricochet blades will be more popular than his new add-ons, but even if the situation you said came, its not even half as bad as many maps with low tiles such as Red Forest or Autohaven where he can simply hit over the loop quickly. He is basicly a 115% anti loop Killer which we have plenty of.

I don't think he will be OP but really aggrevating to play against and probably boring to play which i think wont make him a more common sight ingame. Thats why playing around Ricochet Blades as basekit would have been better.

  • @jayoshi said:

Everyone is talking about MFT but no one is talking about the massive Trickster buff. I always thought and still think that he never needed a buff to begin with. That he was fine on release date. It made me think that if Nurse came out today she would be so overly buffed that she would be the new Trickster. But everyone knows a nurse in the hands of someone who has practiced with her knows how strong she is. Same with Trickster, they were just too quick to pull the trigger IMO.

But now they are going to buff him more? And am I to understand that if he brings in two add-ons he can trigger main even after hitting someone with 3 blades!!? He could also bring the add-on so he gets main event with 4 blades and have the blades bounce off of walls with another add-on. I have to wonder what the developers are thinking. I can only assume it will get crazy during the PTB and they will have to pull way back on his buffs.

What do you guys think? Am I overreacting and he does need this massive buff or was he fine where he is currently at? Or do you think he actually needs a nerf?

Also, why is he going to be the only ranged killer that has a movement speed of 4.6 and now a terror radius of 32 meters. Get ready for a lot of main events and screaming after he reloads at a locker (UW Perk).

He also has to hit 8 times which means he has to reload more often.

Not to mention even with all of this he is likely still going to be worse than Artist, the biggest problem of Trickster was always his lack of identity imo. There was never a good reason to pick him over DS/Huntress. He can neither snipe like Huntress/Artist or use tiny gaps like Deathslinger for downs. The only thing i enjoyed about him was Ricochet blades because it increased his skill ceiling and made him more distinct (I MEAN HE HIS CALLED TRICKSTER) and i hoped for a rework that made it basekit and played around that instead.

I think you are overreacting a bit, they just turned him from a worse Huntress to a worse Artist, instead of giving him a better identity. But that is just my opinion reading the patch notes for now, we will have to see till it drops. My biggest concern is the low requirement for Main Event turning him into a tunneling monster.

I put hard restricted rules on my self (play the same killer/addons/perks, and no tunneling, aim for most hook) for some reasons:

Assume my skill is 50/100. Which can "increase" it by tunneling, 4 slowdowns, strong addons (that most players use those to cover up their skill). I want "my skill" to stay exact. The only different should be on survivor side. If they're better, or stack of meta perk, they should have higher chance to get more escape.

After 4 matches of 4K, the kill/hook are clearly lower.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3574751#Comment_3574751

Im mostly meme around playing killers, means my MMR should not be high. 4k on the first 4 matches then dropped after show that.

I dont think 12 hooks is always impressing, but the most important is how many survivors left when you have 8 hooks. If you have your 8 hooks while there are only 2 survivors left, is alot of different than 8 hooks while there are still 4 survivors in the game.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3574761#Comment_3574761

I just learned something, I think most people dont know. Because of the rules, I cant hook Dwight twice when Meg doesnt have any hook yet, which I have to slug Dwight. And some slugging mixed in the match is extremely time buyer and put insane pressure on survivors.

I think you misunderstood, i don't want screenshots because i don't trust you using the loadout you said, its because of the survivor loadouts. Especially because the goal is seeing MMR changes, so if as an example you ran into Claudettes with like 3-4 yellow perks of which 3 free base perks, that'd be an indicator that the MMR was having a stroke.

  • I'm not sure about the Trickster changes, tbh the only thing that would be really good imo is giving him Ricochets Blades as basekit, which would make him different from the other ranged Killers. I always felt like there is no reason to take him over either Huntress or Deathslinger. The fact he is a ranged 115% makes him a worse Artist now.

    Also is iridescent Photocard permanent?

Yes but you don't see their disappointment after they try to blind you at a pallet/vault, that makes Lightborn funnier and thats what matters.

I have played other killers that have similar nature of getting bursts of speed. I understand how to judge distances very well. This ability is pretty hard to land vs good player and the reward just does not meet the difficulty. the fact you need deal with RNG for whether your ability works or not is just silly. Some survivor that I have played against break chains almost as fast as me chaining them. The people that understand to just Hold m1 when they get hit by chains and stand in positions where they rubberband objects to break chains quickly is not fun. Your barely getting any distance with this ability in straight lines because when you channel gateway, you slow down to nurse's speed so you naturally lose distance so when you pair that with RNG of this ability. Your almost expected to land every chain for the ability to do anything but survivor needs very little effort to produce long chases against him. current pinhead needs 1vs1's buffs. He has high kill-rate because of survivor's mismanaging the box and new player that don't understand how the box works.

Pinhead now is like balanced around new players. it is sad because his gameplay is fun but ultimately unrewarding.

I'm usually the last one to pull content creators especially when they dont do it themselves here but i think this one does well.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KiOlzIn7HEQ

Keep in mind while this wasn't a 100% comp setting this team was still better than easily 90% of SWFs out there. Pinhead is certainly a very tricky Killer to master because not only are his chains very tricky but you also need a lot of game sense, now more than ever since Hoarder has been nerfed, but it wasn't really ever completely necessary.

This match also shows the point i have been trying to make when i said Pinhead is a relatively healthy Killer because he almost never benefits from camping/tunneling compared to other Killers, its almost always better to go for the Box and switch targets, even in a potentially competitive setting where the meta for a long time has been tunneling pretty much.

He is not a mere noob/pub stomper, while he is surely stronger against them that applies to literally every Killer because bad uncoordinated survivors are easier to go against with every Killer.

I'm just glad that the Pinhead glitches have been fixed so i can finally play him again, i did not play him for far to long.

  • @FieldAgentReaper said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3570167#Comment_3570167

actually as of right now he is pretty bug free minus the plot twist interaction which isnt really a bug but should be changed, and the bug involving the locker grab which may or may not also be kind of fixed right now from my testing, they patched him pretty good as of the Halloween update

That is great to hear, i did not touch him for a while because of the bugs, especially when the locker bug became widespread.

BTW what do you think of the hate Pinhead gets? I would like to hear your perspective. I personally feel like he is unappreciated and is hated way to much because of bad players. I mean Pinhead is currently only one of a few Killers that reward aggressive gameplay that much, even in situations when it'd be advised for most Killers to camp/tunnel you can just go for the box and get a potentially higher reward out of it which is very cool and needs to be implemented more in Killer design in general.

It doesn't help that people still see him as a pub stomper no matter how good he is played in comp with box control.

  • I think they did the cooldown add-on change to nerf the perma undetectable Skully, though why they didn't replace the undetectable add-on is beyond me.

I will test the new add-on though, it might be interesting as i think you could actually become more consistant with good set-up.

But lets be honest, the most important change is that the WASSSSSSUP mask is back!

  • Never change in all your glorious and horny ways.

it is likely because player see little reason to change WoO for AMN. Picking up pallet is pointless because if the killer is not breaking the pallet, it is because they can mindgame the pallet. Every pallet that is safe will be broken by the killer so you not be able to to use AMN.

You will only be able to pick up unsafe pallets but the value of dropping an unsafe pallet is at best 2 second stun. It is just no good killer ever get stunned by pallets because the killer has too much counter-play in avoiding stuns which I will avoid going into detail about that.

Thats more theory than practice, in my experience if i Solo Q there is always that one W gamer that drops immediatly and moves on instead of looping, in this case many Killers don't bother breaking them, especially if they don't know yet. You can actually save some really good loops in many games.

Also i value AMN over Windows simply because i can track chases and used up pallets across the entire map, rather than 32m which is very valuable information. Knowing which area of the map to avoid later because of dead zones and seeing if survivors lure the Killers to me earlier.

  • @Devil_hit11 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3570260#Comment_3570260

i think his point is more that you can use AMN as form of WoO to figure what pallets disappear to avoid dead-zones. People use WoO for both pallet spawns and avoiding dead-zones. you cannot really disguise between the two users of WoO. one is new player friendly and other is a more veteran player form of use.

It is just that I don't think people value the picking up pallets at all of AMN to use it over WoO. as a result, you might as well just use WoO.

It was more or less a bait post with some nuggets of truth in it, thought it was clear how i worded it, but yes i'm still asking myself why people don't use AMN much more often. Its really good and provides much of the same benefits as Windows of Opportunity.

Also the fact that tiles are generated randomly don't matter that much because while tiles are generated by RNG, the position of the windows within are actually not, and most tiles with windows are big enough to be identified from a distance.

I also mentioned that you can avoid used up pallets with AMN too.

  • Old Haddonfield was so much worse, half the buildings were much more broken then what they are today.

you know that site only shows statistics for reported games right? if 500 people out of 25 000 players report their matches to the site, but they don't report every single match, then it will have horribly inaccurate statistics.

These stats are not by Nightlight but posted by BHVR, Spirit, Nemesis and Oni are far more popular than Skully, 3 percent is about right.

People complain because someone dared to pick someone they don't like 3 out of 100 matches, how horrible!

Listen i don't like Wesker at all, he is not really that fun to play against and doesn't fit DBDs style imo, and you don't hear me crying about it despite being one of the most popular characters in the game, in fact i said on this forum that nerfing him is a bad idea.

  • Yes it kind of is, in the few cases where there is only a single reachable hook and survivors can abuse it. But it happens so rarely it really doesn't matter most of the time.

Breakdown is one of those perks that are weak but can never be buffed to any meaningful degree without the game becoming insufferable. Like Boil Over, Deerhunter, Rancor, Residual Manifest etc.

  • Pinhead is both very strong and in my opinion one of the healthiest Killers in the game by a mile.

The sad thing is that he is bugged to hell for quite a while now.

  • DBD Community always was very meta heavy. I have never seen a community that blindly abides metas (and content creators) that much at all. The only thing that keeps it in check is that the cost of unlocking perks so high that many get discouraged.

Hell even games like R6 Siege aren't that meta heavy in my experience even in ranked.

    Yah...

We have been saying that a lot in the past few hours, different shades of this exploit have been a thing.

    Its not just an exploit.

I played a game as Pinhead a few days ago and saw a Feng who sabotaged a hook despite carrying a flashlight, and when i looked at the perks at the end screen it was just full meta with no Saboteur... I feel like there are a LOT more subtle cheaters than any of us can know, its just that with the smart ones you need a good eye for detail to see it. The fact that quite a few on this thread deny that this Ace was cheating despite seeing the footage themselves including slow-motion is prove how easily they get away with it.

This game would benefit so much from a replay system.

This started late into the match, when the killer was pressuring Mikela, she warped when down, caused a lag spike for a second or two, and then once picked up, literally locked the killer's "W" key.

Sounds totally unbelievable, but the killer could not carry her forward to the hook, she was finally placed on the hook by strafing, a total of 7 minutes after the clip below started.

The only time he took it wider than he needed too was when he was entering shack. Also you're right, it is impossible for him to make shack window... unless you swing too early, which is EXACTLY what you did.

Now, I went out of my way to do this because I'm sure you're going to deny swinging too early. So I recreated the exact scenario! So unless you're claiming I'm cheating as well, here's 2 clips: One of which I didn't take wide when entering shack window, and one where I did, just like in the clip you provided. Enjoy!

    https://youtu.be/nYL0As3neU8

    https://youtu.be/176O8VidasI

EDIT: Just wanted to mention it took us 5 minutes to do this, and that was mainly rerolling the map because we kept getting a gen to spawn in killer shack. These 2 clips were the only takes we did and its all we needed

There are several issues with this, mostly that you play the corner way shorter than the Ace in the clip. If you go through slowed down just a bit you can clearly see it. Its not about if its actually possible with perfect pathing, that is completely irrelevant and redundant, its if its possible with the pathing the Ace took, and if you slow down the clip its a very clear no.

Please devs do this, map offerings should do the opposite and block the map it's simple, before event i was sent to garden of joy/farm maps constantly, it's 4v1 but one single survivor can choose the map it's weird to begin with, not fair

In fact, they should do it without mentioning it in the patch notes or testing it in a PTB, just throw it in somewhere. For no other reason because i think that'd be hilarious. We all know its only used by people either sweating desperatly or using a very toxic build and playstyle at this point.

  • Its so mind boggling its still in the game, all other games have map prevention, such as map ban votes, not the opposite way around for a huge amount of very good reasons. Just make map offerings block the map and the game gets like 10x better.

  • Are you sure that wasn't a phishing site or something? I'm pretty sure they don't send you emails to reclaim something you requested.

  • They made downed survivors slow the progress because during the PTB people just rush the hook or intentionally lead the Killer that was not camping back to the hook, knowing the other one can escape whatever happens. What was the only real counter to the strat? Slugging the savior and tunnel the hooked one, there was no other option, if slugging and tunneling is your thing then sure we can go back to the PTB.

  • I don't have a name for it, these are just my favorite perks. But i'd call it support i'm neither doing chase nor gens that often, i usually do things many won't like healing, resetting pallets, searching hex totems etc.

1 … 4 5 6 7 8 … 10
