An actual functional matchmaking. I don't care about instant queues if it means I'm constantly getting paired with Megs with less than 100 hours. You could give survivors 200 pallets per map and make DS stun last 2 minutes and solo would probably still be trash with this current matchmaking. When you rarely get 3 competent teammates you see solo actually isn't that bad.
-
You can see Spirit's hair on some skins like the Greek head.
-
Good riddance. Thank all the Legion mains who were spamming Thanato every match.

I don't think the extra 2 seconds should count for its own effect.. otherwise why not just make it 11 seconds? But other than that, I think the perk is ok.
It sucks when your camera barely stops spinning and a Blight or Nurse is already halfway up your ass but that is really more to do with Nurse and Blight than the perk itself. Like ######### does Sadako have to wait a whole 30 seconds to teleport but Nurse and Blight get immediate access to their powers?
Because Sadako sucks and should have her TP available from the start lol
-
It's 25% of the killer's build that goes away after 11 seconds... The 2 extra seconds in aura perks/addons is decent but hardly game changing
-
Good riddance of Thanatophobia, it's going to be a great patch just because of that.
-
I've seen killers who immediately DC because their Devour/Ruin got cleansed in the beginning of the game as well. Entitled people exist in both sides.
-
I can't even get a coordinated solo queue team. Imagine implying the entire survivor population is somehow coordinating an attack against this patch.
-
Touch grass
Maybe some trees as well
-
You forgot these:
- Removing the F4 key in every DBD player's keyboard;
- Putting a BHVR employee in each DBD player's house so they don't disconnect their platform.
-
It depends on the killer. My favorite killer is Ghostface and I still feel I need at least Surge on him. On stronger killers I prefer aura and chase perks.

Survivors also have endgame perks.
Adrenaline, Hope, Left Behind, No One Left behind.
BT also works fine at endgame, use that.
The point is these all have counters, just as NOED and No Way Out do as well. None of these are guaranteed wins for one side or the other.
DS at an exit gate had NO counter.
DS at an exit gate has no counter, I agree. But the endgame isn't only the exit gates. Considering DS now is only 3 seconds there's no reason to turn it off at the endgame, it would only be a guaranteed escape if the killer hooks you right next to an exit gate, and at this point BT would also be a "free escape".
-
Yeah if NOED and No Way Out are a thing then DS and OTR should also activate at the endgame.
-
Yes, same way survivors should have to play near perfectly to get 4 escapes.

Otz has always had it out for Nurse. He had a hard time when he did the 50 win streak with her. Just shows his opinion does not match his experience.
I was thinking about that while watching this. Nurse was one of the hardest 50 win streaks he had to do, and I remember him constantly losing a lot of games in a row with her. He's probably just going on what's popular on the forums and reddit.
-
I prefer making them work like Pyramid Head's cages but with a longer margin of time, like 30 seconds of staying near a hook and the survivor teleports to another hook. Whenever a teleport happens the survivor gains 15 extra seconds of hook timer so the other survivors have time to unhook.
-
It was crazy unfun to go against, especially after that validation change where it wasn't rare to see lobbies with 3-4 DHs. People said everybody would move on to Sprint Burst, but I'm actually seeing a lot of exhaustion variety: SB, Lithe, Balance Landing, Overcome and even the occasional Head On now.
-
Corrupt + Deadlock + Monstrous Shrine + Agitation with Bubba
Hook 1st survivor in the basement, stay 24m away from it (around 5 seconds of walking) and camp. Survivors can't save without you downing them and MS grants faster entity progression now and Deadlock + 50 extra seconds to gens will guarantee survivors can't finish all gens before the 1st person dies. Enjoy free 4k.
-
"Second worst fall in history"
Yeah, and you forgot to mention it was right after the biggest gain they had in history as well. 53,34% in June.
-
Holding W is not about running in a straight line, it's about chaining tiles and playing them in a safe way, aka pre-dropping if it's a loop the killer is able to mindgame. From my experience even with the nerfed speed boost + 8 stacks of STBFL survivors most of the time can still chain tiles rather well on the majority of the maps. MacMillians now are especially nasty with the new tiles, and there's still Badham, Eyrie of Crows, Garden of Joy, Cowshed...
Honestly I'd take reverting all of the killer buffs and survivor nerfs for a flat out 25% size reduction on most maps. Map design is just crazy bad in this game.

@Pulsar said:
It's been completely miserable.
I think one of the big things is the inability to reliably trade hooks anymore.
Basic attack cooldown has made that nearly impossible and nobody gives a ######### about DS
Can you elaborate a bit more on this? I agree camping is still a problem, but trading hooks even with 8 stacks of STBFL is still possible, you're just less likely to get away with it from a less skilled killer because you can't DH into a BT anymore.
-
The reason is obvious, I can't believe you guys can't see it. Seriously, it's so easy to understand. The moment I read this I understood it immediately. Such an easy decision to understand, just make a bit of effort. Super easy.
-
Why do people pretend the Nurse we have today is the same we had in 2016-2019? Even with her best addons she does not come close to her old self. I agree she needs some changes (range addons and blinks being special attacks), but stop pretending Nurse went all these years without a single change: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0vRSNReZQk

There's still room for consideration on Lethal Pursuit builds.
Maybe I'll try. Lethal Pursuit + Darkness Revealed seems better though.
-
Camping is overall easier. Gens take longer to do, hook trading is weaker due to nerfed Dead Haard and buffed weapon cooldown, endurance is not that strong against STBFL, DS is trash...
-
Idk anyone else but I dropped BBQ from all my builds.
-
Delaying the wiggle system is weird. I'm not a game dev but from everything here it seems to be the easiest thing to do, especially when most people are already using the beta tab wiggle version. Or are they planning another overhaul of it?
-
Idk I've been playing since 2017 and I think the game looks better now. The screenshots you're showing are concept arts and the real game looked more like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dt6XSnB1-h8&ab_channel=TrU3Ta1ent. The maps were way more cartoonish back then. Also I like being able to see lol, probably why I don't really mind new Coldwind and Eyrie.
-
I don't think DH was nerfed because of being too strong but the frustation attached to going against it. SB is used at the beginning of the chase and the killer can decide whether or not he wants to take that it. DH on the other hand is always used when the survivor is about to go down, you can literally feel the time the perk wastes on the killer side. It kind of reminds me of Old Deathslinger in the sense he was never too strong, but going against him felt miserable.

Now wait a second... Are we talking 300 high school soccer teams at the same time or?
Obviously not lol
-
SupaAlf has like 6k hours on Nurse alone and he was destroying teams back then when he was on a PS4. Him winning like that means nothing, except that he has incredible resistance to boredom. It's the equivalent of Barcelona winning against 300 high school soccer teams.
-
We have to give words of praise when they deserve it. This patch has been wonderful so far. The hitches I had with unhooking/hooking and using killers' powers are gone. Only the new map has some minor slutters, but it's tolerable.
-
I don't fully understand the part about Spirit's optimization on the patch notes. From my experience she was always one of the few killers that actually played without too many freezes, in fact I almost exclusively player her post-RE chapter. So was fixing things about her really necessary?
I remember someone posting here that DBD seems to load assets for every character during the loading screen. Maybe her specific asset was causing issues and that reflected on every match?

Hi, I've been asked to check some things - has it worsened since 5.3.0 or 5.3.1 - was there any noticeable differences between the patches?
5.3.1. was definitely the one that made things worse. I posted a Plague match that I had right after the patch.
5.3.0. was okayish. The difference between both was abysmal.

@MandyTalk here is the sorry state that Nemesis is right now. Every killer has been suffering from slutters lately but this one is the worst of them all.

No Sir, just because your old system freezes during the game, that doesnt mean anything
It means the game is bad optimized lmao. Or do you seriously think DBD is some next gen advanced game that a PS4 Pro can't run? It's literally a 5-player game with PS3 graphics.
If you're so bothered by it, you can buy me a PS5 from the scammers that are selling it for double the price here in my country, I wouldn't mind.
-
- Play Bubba;
- Equip NOED;
- Find and down the first survivor;
- Facecamp until death;
- Down the second survivor with NOED;
- Facecamp until death;
- Enjoy the 50% kill rate "balance".

if you can't hit your skill check than that in itself is a skill issue. How much of a bail out do you need?
Imagine complaining about someone who wants a perk to function properly.
Play better.

If DS were to automatically go off because your systems can't handle the game that makes it worse for a whole other section of players lol
If you need to rely on survivors missing skill checks to win your games that's more of a skill issue than a platform one.

To screw up us last gen console players. Just yesterday I missed one because of a freeze.

I am literally in awe lmao.
I said my subjective opinion was that I like trickster, I think he is a unique character with a lot of potential.
Then I said, away from my opinion, his power is badly designed and it shows pretty blatantly, you can look at forums posts and see this. You can look at reddit posts to see this. You can go into discord servers and see this. You can go on videos and definitely see this.
He isn't weak necessarily, that isn't what I said. I said his power, in the terms of DBD and what makes killers strong in it, his power OBJECTIVELY is not healthy or good.
That's still your opinion, no matter what type of mental gymnastics you make.

I really do not think you are grasping the concept lol so in your eyes, if I think Dead Hard is healthy and good design, just because I think that, that means that I am objectively correct?
Or what I was saying, where it doesn't matter how you feel about a thing, some things are objectively good or bad design.
Again, the only way you can prove something is objectively bad designed is if you made a poll with the majority of the playerbase. Neither you or me can say something is objectively good or bad.

Even more relevant: Pyramid head and Nemesis are 115, ranged-power killers, AND unlike deathslinger, they can still get a down over a pallet.
Pyramid Head: 8m~10,5m range, travels incredible slow.
Nemesis: 5~6m range, has to give a free speed boost to actually start damaging.
Deathslinger: 18m range, 40m/s projectile.

Again, enjoying him and liking him is different than his gameplay actually being designed good, these are the same devs that made old legion after all, and omegablink nurse, and original hag, and of course trapper up until this last patch required a bag if you wanted to even play him good. Oh also spirit has had the ability to stand still and the survivors would be put into a lose-lose situation up until the last patch too.
I love the devs but they have most definitely made bad designs in the past they have went back on and changed. I hope you know what subjective and objective mean because again, I also like trickster, he is a unique addition to the game, but POWER AND GAMEPLAY WISE even trickster mains know his power just is not very good, not to mention, again, objectively badly design for him to do badly in the 1v4, but oppressive in the 1v1.
"Your opinion = subjective, my opinion = objective"

I mean I am not saying bad design in any term of the character and how he looks, fun is subjective after all and if you like his gameplay then that is great, but objectively his power is badly designed for a game like this, that isn't really an opinion thing. In a 1v4 game, a killer that is purely 1v1 focused, while also being built to be weaker and lose in the 1v4 just isn't great objectively, especially when he isn't even the strongest 1v1 killer by a long shot.
Again, subjectively if you enjoy his gameplay yeah, no one has say over that, but that doesn't make him well designed.
Yes, it is an opinion thing. If the devs decided to add him, I trust them more than a trust you.
The only way you could prove to me he's objectively bad designed is by doing a poll with at least the majority of the DBD playerbase. But judging by how many people I see on social media and in game that like him, it wouldn't go well.
-
"so people moved on and forgot about him"
People = Myself
I see a lot of Tricksters, more so than a lot of other killers (even recent ones like Nemesis and Pinhead). He's tons of fun to play as and I don't really mind going against him.
People love to throw their opinion around using things like "epitome of bad design".
-
One can only hope. The 110/115% got boring already. Now we have tons of pointless killers that nobody wants to play as or against.

I am not completely sure, but I believe as long as Microsoft and Sony and Nintendo still actively support the proir gen consoles DBD cannot abandon them. As they said in the last Q&A as long as it is technically able to, like the engine straight up no longer working with any PS4 for example.
But as we all know the performance issues are mostly based in optimization problems, and making any platform load each and every killer & all their assets every match.
So we are stuck with each other it seems, far longer than the console makers or the devs ever dreamed of.
Maybe they can't fully drop updating the game, but from what it looks the game will become more and more next to unplayable.

Out of curiosity, is he easier to juke than Huntress? Because they both have kind of similar firing mechanics now (i.e. you hold the power button to draw up the weapon which takes a moment, then you can fire instantly with a shot that has a slight lead time.) I’m not talking here about how Deathslinger and Huntress are different at pallets, just asking about dodging them in a relatively open chase. Deathslinger’s shot does have a smaller hit box I think, which could be a factor, but it also travels a bit faster maybe?
It travels the same speed as a fully charged Huntress hatchet. 40m/s.
