I do wish that there was more variety in this game.. Im so tired of the same perks and same few killers.. We need a new meta badly
Right now as fun is some of the killers are, with MoM as yet another 2nd chance meta perk there is 0 incentive to play the lower tier killers ESPECIALLY if they are M1 killers.
Billy punishes bad positioning, if he catches you in an open field he's gonna get you.
If you get him on a map like Loopinfield with Balanced Landing i wish him all the best.

Killers usually DC according to my experience when they are not able to find anyone to catch or kill. I do not get the idea of players being toxic when there is not even a voice/text chat in the game. It happens quite consistently these days that if survivors are just good and survive - the killers disconnects as he is not able to get any kills and is not able to down anyone.
Survivors play well/know how to use flashlight or are stealthy = toxic?
yes, there can be looping and as a killer I have hunted down survivors who have looped me like forever, but is that really toxic? I do not think so. They are just trying to waste my time in order to increase their team's survivability by distracting the killer while others hopefully turn generators on. Looping can be annoying to killers, but it is a talent itself. Not all survivors can loop well. If you do not love looping etc. just go after another survivor who does not know how to loop as well. That is what I do when I do not feel like hunting down a specific player.
Depends on the killer to be honest not to mention the map.
Sure you will get your share of salty killers that will DC regardless but that's not always the case.
You will notice you get more DC's depending on what map and killer combo you are facing.
If you get Rancid Abattoir as anyone except Nurse the killer may as well DC.
The a survivor takes a hit they will run for the Abattoir Window loop which on anyone except Nurse is a guaranteed escape or at very least wastes plenty of the killers time.
Haddonfield? enjoy those lovely BL infinite loops in the houses.
That's not being good or skilful that's just consistent use of broken issues BVHR refuse to fix.
-
If they removed that Hag would be a joke.
You could just carry on running.
It's basically there to stop them needing to put a slow onto it which the hag would need without the direction change since she is only 110%.
I think the current way is more fun than adding slows.

This is not a killer vs. survivor issue. A dc hurts the other players, no matter the role they are playing. We need a better compensation for everyone when there is a dc in the match.
I don't agree with compensation i think punishment is more the way to go.
Compensation means a bad killer can just camp/tunnel salty survivors into a DC for free boosted stats.
Or as survivors will just try and bully the killer into DC.
Punishing people for leaving games will have a better effect.

That won't fix anything, that will buff NOED, which it doesn't need in the slightest since tier one now has the inta-down
What I prompted to change makes it to where survivors who are already looking for the totem to spot it easier based on it's closeness to activating
The brightness would be very hard to spot if you didn't know what to look for, then it would get a tiny bit lighter as another gen gets done
With the new totem hiding places and maps like Swamp and The Game, this would be perfect so that survivors aren't punished for the killers mistakes
Also, think about it, if the survivors don't have the time to check totems because the killer is doing as they should (playing aggressively enough to get hooks and downs). Then why should the survivors get killed for the killer not being able to find/catch them long enough for all the gens to be done? NOED is a bit OP unless the killer is bad enough for survivors to have the time to cleanse totems on the way
New totem hiding places? What new totem hiding places.
I can't remember the last time i got hit with a NOED.
The totems are laughable, they did add some new ones but because of their rules of totems must be X distance apart you can still calculate which AREA they are in.
It will take me couple mins to find them all even without small game if you have a friend helping you can get them all before the killer even gets their first hook.
What you are suggesting is a massive survivor buff plain and simple.
-
The killer loses pips when a survivor does it and survivors are way more likely to do it atm i usually get 1 or more per game.
Salty friends DC on queue when their friend dies.

Just because they used false prerequisites and dindt changd them to further testing. That not an argument against this idea.
Camping needs to be harder adressed as well as tunneling. My statisticts throughout the last season says that during legit games (4vs1) almost 75% of the killers were camping and/or tunneling. That one of the biggest issues in the game besides DCs.
Camping or tunnelling by who's merit?
I've been called camper simply for some moron standing in a trap right in front of a hook.
That's not camping, that's another entitled survivor thinking "He can't put a trap here im entitled to get my friend off the hook or he's a CaMpEr"
All these "Rules" made up by survivors are just that MADE UP.
I don't camp or tunnel and i run DS to try and lower the amount it's done on me, but he's entitled to do it. Is it a dick move? sure it is.
Is it against any rules? no.
Are there any of these made up rules to protect a killer? No.
Here's some of your greatest hits.
- Using SWF to set up double flashlights
- Mass blocking hooks
- Mass sabotaging hooks
- Abusing broken loops with balanced landing.
Remember these "Nerfs" survivors moan about like removal of pallets? that equated to just 1 pallet per map on average, infinite loops are still in the game, they nerf second chance perks only to put another one in on a paid DLC 1 patch later.
Playing killer that isn't Nurse or Billy is like pissing into the wind at the moment i can't blame a Freddy for camping or tunnelling.

noed should be deleted. it gives the killer a free kill he didn't manage to get during the 5 gens period. and he'll 100% camp him if his totem got cleansed because " it's end game".
i play a lot of killers. and i never use noed. because it basically a hated perk. and boosts killers with that free kill. i use bloodwarden instead. it can grant a free 4k if the situation comes.
balance?
just make all survivors hear the totem breaking sounds whenever a survivor cleanses a totem. that would reduce the big gap between swf and solo against noed.
It gives the killer a free kill because the survivors running MoM, Adrenaline, DS and Dead Hard.
CaNt FiNd ToTeMs because they aint got room for Small Game.
If NoED activates the survivors didn't cleanse the totems, they didn't play well, they goofed, they got punished.
I personally don't run NoED but i can say for certain if i think the killers running NoED them totems be gone, and i don't need small game the totem spawns are a joke.

Yeah I should’ve reworded that but I did point at the hook but he wouldn’t hook me
Down to his discretion.
He can't make you open the gate and leave and you can't make him hook you.
You could be there all night if you wanted.
-
Personally the best thing to put in is a timer.
DC you get 1 minute to re-connect if you don't, Punishment will find you!
With a timer game crashes and small DC's are covered.
Leavers won't be.

Myers has almost no terror radius in tier 1 and yet the aware survivor will ALWAYS know he's nearby or looking at them. It's almost as if they need to be paying attention to their surroundings!
Why should huntress be any different? If i'm paying attention to what's around me while working on a gen, I don't need to hear her humming to know she's nearby.
To be fair that's not exactly a fair comparison.
Myers has to be in melle range to hit you, and he moves slower in T1 stage.
But i don't fully understand @Nea_Death_Experience point either.
If she can throw a hatchet at you and she's actually aiming and not randomly throwing near a gen hoping she hits you, you can also see her, so with the exception of 1 shot hatchets of which she can only carry 3 at a time anyway sniping isn't exactly a problem.
Im yet to get sniped by a Huntress i couldn't see because she threw across the map it's always been when im not paying attention and we can both see each other.
-
It's a dick move to be sure.
However if they know that killer and they are friends on steam then that's enough evidence for a ban.
If not no rules were broken.
-
MoM is a problem and it's broken for sure. That gets value for nothing and has very little counterplay unless you're Billy, Nurse or Leatherface.
DS is fine if you get hit with it you deserve it, i play killer and have no problems getting kills without resorting to tunnelling.
It might be a basic tactic but it's cheap and if they don't have DS you get away with it tunnelling isn't even an optimal strategy in almost every scenario if you find yourself in that position you ######### up somewhere during the game and left with it as your only option, again DS is a counter to killers who do this every game more than anything.
I agree frequent disconnectors should be banned.

I'd also like a mansion with long claustrophobic hallways, but knowing the devs there would probably be some extremely safe pallets in the middle of hallways XD, also Hillbilly mains would be sad with that kind of map, their chainsaw would not really be for map pressure anymore. I do agree on that we need more indoor maps though, I really wanted the temple of purgation to be all indoors but instead we got a cool temple with everything else just being red forest
Oswell E. Spencer would like a word with you!
Sounds like an awesome map though!

There are killers that actually need buffs, no one even ever said that Huntress was weak. You cant just have range attacks and not leave some form of counter-play
You mean like
- Countered by loops
- Countered by pallet loops.
- Countered by any object with big hitboxes hello Lerys hospital beds.
- Directional lullaby
- 110% speed
- Slows down when holding a hatchet
- Has to go to lockers to re-stock
- Have to fully wind up or it throws like a noodle.
All this for a range attack? not worth. Huntress is overrated and easily countered.
I wouldn't even put her in top 5 and love playing against her as a survivor, if she gets Lerys or Farm map she may as well DC.

The "context" you are looking for, regarding pipping, is literally in the first sentence of the thread.
The 2.6.4 patch did not directly alter matchmaking. Even in the topic encompassing everything about the patch, matchmaking would still not be encompassed within the topic/patch. The bug fixes I referred to however, ARE encompassed in the patch.
As for your "white knight" claim, I dislike safe spaces. I think negativity is necessary in logical discussion. However your unwarranted pessimism had no relevancy to the topic of the discussion, which is illogical, unappreciated and against community guidelines.
Addition: Whether 2.6.4 is a sub patch or a major patch is a moot point as it is the focus of this thread regardless of its size. If you wish to talk about the 2.6.0 patch or the 2.6 series of patches in general, please feel free to start your own thread.
Could you kindly point to which guideline i broke?
Also you ignored the part i wrote about you setting your own precedence but have fun with your white knighting sir! in all seriousness have a good one :)

@GraviteaUK I have 40+ and I have 25+ wards on Spirit. I can play something like 60 games in a row right now using Prayer Beads. If I took my BP and just dump it back into Spirit I can get probably a 75% return on either it, meaning I could play another 45 games. A total of over 100 games with Prayer Beads. They are not that hard to come by.
Even if they were a green common they are countered by 1 survivor perk and it's not even a teachable.
The same perk that also counters several other killers you still have a counter you just choose not to run it.
They are fine.

Matchmaking wasnt part of that patch, so why complaining here? Even though they cant match redrank survivors with redrank killer, while there arent any redrank survivors. So it was an indirect patch for matchmaking cause now the survs can rank up towards redranks. So stop complaining at once.
2.6.4 is a sub patch.
Matchmaking was changed in 2.6.0, was a failure and is still busted so by extension until the next "Major" content patch it's all relative to this patch. :P
But yes maam i will stop i believe i made my point XD
-
Looks like 3 men in a basement with some camping going on bois!
-
I despised the old DS and the toxic SWF abuse associated with it.
The new one however i run all the time, it does nothing if they don't tunnel, if they do they deserve it.
-
"But if i run Spine Chill/ Premonition i can't run MoM, Adrenaline, DS and DH".
Seriously every killer i come across even on the same killer will have some perks different by preference, sure you will see some common ones like SF and Enduring on M1 killers but there are generally some changes. Some prefer BBQ at their tracker, Whispers, Bitter Murmur, i personally adore Brutal Strength rather than Spirit Fury.
Generally with survivors it's an overpowered Meta build like the one above and instead of altering that to suit what some killers are running they just cry nerf about every threat to their 2nd chance godhood.
Prayer Beads are a rare addon ive only had 2 of them ever and i must have done 70 or so Bloodwebs, yes they are purple but they seem rarer than the Iri addons.
Grabs generally happen because you're not running a killer tracking perk or you're not paying enough attention to your surroundings.

this repeat expose that you are a player on cloud, why hillbilly and nurse so intense? not only because their fatal power skills , but more is the shift ability of them makes them always are in the progressing of killing, the humans have no chance to breath for a while.
But other killers on foot are diffrent, maybe a long chasing is not worth, because there's no gen, or it's far away from the hooked people. On the contrast, Hillbilly and Nurse do not care that, they dont need to mind the scene's factor, just skill skill skill and kill kill kill, anywhere , any corner, no need to use their mind to planning.
so I guess it's time to give Hillbilly and Nurse's skill an charge system like Rin to nerf them
That's how the game is supposed to be, they are supposed to pressure the survivors, they are supposed to make you feel helpless.
They are the "Power role" that's why it's 4 VS 1.
Right now the power role is survivor and that's wrong.
Nurse i agree needs toning down some but Billy? no all killers should be brought up to his level not him bringing down to theirs.
-
What's wrong with slug games? the only reasons killers generally slug is because the hatch mechanic favors survivors so heavily and it slows down 5 minute gen rush games.
Another question why does do these threads keep coming up?
nerf camping, nerf tunneling, nerf slugging nerf nerf nerf every play style killers can use except for ez looping.
You already have stupidly overpowered second chance perks, the only decent perks killers can use to try and stop this is NoED and that's completely preventable.

Would you say Predator would be better for her instead of Stridor?
In most scenarios, Predator/Bloodhound are better generally, but if the survivors are not injured and not sprinting a'la "Urban Evasion" the aforementioned 2 perks do nothing.
Stridor can help you track in phase walk regardless of the survivors status but i don't think it's effective enough to push out the other 2 perks.

A 28% playerbase drop even though 2 DLCs dropped during that period of time... This is new, has never happened before. Usually when they release new content the playerbase jumps back to "normal" but in this case they barely managed to keep it steady even though we just had a ~30% player loss.
New content is not enough to keep the players or bring them back, they need to fix the core issues like matchmaking, ranking system and other unbalances.
We've reached a point where even the most addicted players get tired of that ######### and just leave, which usually takes A LOT to happen.
Exactly new content should have the "WoW Effect" as i like to call it.
A spike in players whether they are returning or new in for the new content even if it only lasts halfway to the next content patch it's enough.
Right now it's only getting worse, and it's easy to say "Omg killer mains" but it's not untrue, SWF is totally broken and with the exception of the Nurse/Billy no killer has the ability to deal with it if they set out to bully a killer they can and will.
Right now if you're playing anything other than those two will result in a long and stressful game against any above average survivor they don't even need to be massively good.
- Many MANY bugs that have been around for sometimes YEARS at a time.
- Changes to things like the pipping system that should have been tested more.
- Perks on paid DLC that are overpowered and no killer perks introduced to counter them, Hello MoM
- Re-introducing previously patched bugs.
- New killers being underwhelming and nerfed from the PTR to where they sit in D tier forever
I know people meme Cote but it's not without context, killers lives have been miserable for ages now and yes "Omg it used to be worse" yes perhaps it was but how does that justify anything?
He said killers don't matter and meme or not the actions of the dev team seem to mirror that statement.
Killers have been giving feedback for months now, not all of it constructive but some of it is and it seems to mean nothing.
Some killer nerfs are nonsensical, like the Huntress locker aura nerf, i mean who thought that was a good idea? one of the easiest to loop killers in the game nerfed to try and get people to use an addon that was useless in the first place.

This is a thread about the pipping system and the recent patch that altered that system. This thread has nothing to do with the matchmaking and I personally have no issues with the matchmaking.
Not all feedback has to involve negativity. If you want to complain about matchmaking, go find a more relevant thread.
Im sorry but where in the title did you put Patch 2.6.4 pipping is awesome? you didn't.
You simply stated THE PATCH IS AWESOME which is fine but that also encompass everything.
You even set your own precedence by talking about bug fixes not related to the pipping system.
So next time instead of trying to be clever by white kniting BVHR and going "This thread has no negativity reeee safe space please"
Try adding context.
-
Everyone has pretty much summed it up.
Getting chased for 5 gens and abusing the hell out of loops is not how the game is supposed to work.
You're supposed to lose the killer and let him pick a new target and run some gens, get unhooks.
The killer would have de-pipped on that game too for sure.
-

In fairness from a survivor main POV we wouldn't have to gen rush if killers were not so toxic or op that they wipe out hook and maim half or more of the team in the 1st 3-5 minutes of the trials starting after a 15 minute wait to get into a trial.
Only 1 killer is actually OP and that's Nurse and maybe Billy
If you're getting wiped out in the first 5 minutes against anyone else that's on the survivors.
Every other killer has way lower map pressure and weaker kits.
And don't talk about killers being Toxic survivors are 10 fold worse.
Hell there are compilations showing off survivors bullying killers lol.
-
Pick up a Nurse with Surveillance and Discordance.
1 person touches a gen after you have kicked, you got em.
2 persons or more touches a gen, you got em.
Add NoED and BBQ in for extra salt
-
Why I should care about pips? I see all this discussion about the ranking system. Meanwhile, I feel 0 incentive to rank up.
You shouldn't.
It's literally only the people that think rank actually means anything that are doing it and they are struggling for queues.
I have said many times on this very forum that incentives should have been added either first or at the same time.
-
To be honest as bad as the swamp is, the worse maps are Coldwind and Haddonfield.
They have the most infinites in them and see-through Gyms, no mindgames at all.
Those maps are so safe for survivors it's unreal. took a hit on Rancid? run straight for the abattoir loop unless the killer has Boozle or it's a Nurse, they aint catching you. make sure you tea-bag at the window and let your MoM proc before vaulting for extra points.
Personally i think BVHR needs to see WHY they are so hated.

Okay, so before it gets locked...I'm completely serious, I'm completely ignorant and curious.
Ban evasion...got it, but what was the original ban for? I've seen a few of his videos, and saw nothing that would warrant a ban. He's very good at evading killers, and no more annoying that the next player.
I couldn't be more serious, I have no dog in this fight. But if he was harrassing viewers on YT, why would that get him banned from this game. He obviously still has his YT channel, so YT much not have thought it was that serious.
Is there a video I could watch, while I eat my soup, that accurately describes what happened? No idea why, but yeah, kind of strange I'm this curious.
Exploiting, Witch hunting, Targeted Harassment, Account Tampering.
Exploiting = He blocked killers in a position they could not move or swing at him basically taking the game hostage and he not only did this repeatedly he also broadcast it for his snot-nosed army to replicate.
Account Tampering = When he got back on with a new account he would tamper with the save data to give himself all perks despite being only account level 4.
Targeted Harassment = Sending his army of clagnuts to harass the ever living crap out of people he didn't like, and belittled other players.
Just a 5 second run down for you.
-
It WAS somewhat getting balanced, until they decided to add yet other perk SWF could abuse the ######### out of to kick every M1 killer that was already low tiered in the balls.
Wanna know why Billy and Nurse won't go away? this is why.
It's a game built around needing mobility to stop generators being finished in less than 5 minutes.
But do they address the lack of map pressure on all but 2 killers? no lets release another map the size of China with a perk that only breaks the lower killers even more.
Enjoy Billys and Nurses at anything above R5.

@Toxicity23: DS shouldnt be countered. Its to prevent tunneling, which only means that someone cant play the game as intended.
@Blueberry: The perk in its current state doesnt prevent tunneling at all. It just maybe punishes during endgame. It needs to be changed to prevent (as long as nothing will me changed about the tunneling itself), not to punish.
@GraviteaUK: As said before it doesnt work as it should. And yeah its a free "escape" without any tracking. Cause tunneling needs to be prevented at all costs.
@mcNuggets: No its definitely not.
Tunnelling must be prevented why?
Right now any half decent survivor even when being tunnelled can run the killer around some loops for a good amount of time before going down.
The amount of maps that certain killers may as well ALT F4 on in ridiculous. (Coldwind Farm, Huntress/Plague/Legion) nice design on those see-through walls BVHR.
The survivors can play this game how they want. Do i come on here and say OMG THEY SHOULDN'T BE ABLE TO DROP PALLETS LIKE THAT PLZ NURFFFF.
So why should you be able dictate how the killer plays?
-
BuT ToTeMs ArE HaRd tO FiNd
and i don't have room for small game with DS, DH, MoM and Adrenaline
-
Is NoED broken simple answer no.
- Find totems they are mostly easy and predictable.
- Struggling? Small game
- If the killer pops a NoED GET OUT DON'T GO FOR THE UNHOOK
It's really that simple you cannot possibly think the biggest counters to perks like Adrenaline and LoLMoM is broken when you can remove it both before AND after it activates.
Hell Huntress, and Legion can't even run the thing properly.
-
I wouldn't say it's harmful but it's a really poor perk to be honest.
It's not nearly effective enough to be worth using.
-
Personally one buff i would like to see is the hatch blocked for 60 seconds after hooking the 3rd survivor.
So the hatch opens and can be found and heard but the survivor cannot take it.
That way you get value even if the game does not go down to all 5 gens.
You would still have 0 NoED so the survivor cannot be instadowned this way but it would mean there would be far less chance of a hatch standoff.
And perks like MoM are less likely to be abused by a survivor purposely getting hit twice only to run back to the hatch and out.
-
Either remove the 3 second ramp up with exhaust on or take exhaust off and leave the 3 second ramp up on.
It's gonna be niche use either way.

- Remove sack addons and allow him to carry 3
- Make it so he can set/unset traps without picking them back up.
- Make it so escaping a trap is one bar with a decent timer on, no RNG.
- Increase the number of traps with bigger maps, pallets scale with map size why not traps?

All of the 0 terror radius perks are barely used.
Sure it might work on Solo Survivors but if it's SWF you get scouted and Discorded.
And since you can never be 100% on SWF at the lobby no one would risk wasting a perk alot on a perk that is completely countered from OUTSIDE the game.

Giving a survivor the opportunity to put themselves in a vulnerable position is not a counter to anything. It only works if the survivor purposefully places themselves in that position, and that's just taking advantage of a mistake.
Breaking the chase is losing the chase. The killer gets an emblem penalty, while the survivor is rewarded.
Again, what are the counters to looping? Actual counters, meaning things that work against looping.
The only one i can think of is Bamboozle but that only works well with certain killers and within certain builds.
Not to mention it makes way too much noise so survivors just find a new loop after they hear it go off.
