I stopped playing killer regularly, and now mainly play it for dailies, because I used to get so anxious at chases, smashing R1/M1 to hit them (didn’t know about the lunge back then) while they 360d me and my PS4 exploded due to the low fps after missing a hit, that I ended up with pain in my wrist and thumb.
Now when I play killer, I simply go in there and try and have fun whatever the outcome is. At Haddonfield’s map I once was standing outside of the house with the balcony with Bubba while the survivors were up there so they all jumped to me to see who got hit by the saw and who made it out alive.
-
When my friend is in the hook I run to him, stare and leave him there
-
I know, I was joking, and wasn’t at the same time. Given the matchmaking circumstances we now play solo while on voice comm.
-
I would do that to friends if killers didn’t dodge SFW games
(?
-
I wouldn’t leave a game out of frustration, but man, the amount of pink moris you see out there after the event is atrocious.
-
I just had a game versus Myers where stealthing was not achievable at all. You hid behind the piled up tires in Autohaven and you bounced back to the open hahaha... once I vaulted a window, it lagged and suddenly I was back in my original location vaulting the window again... like #########
-
I go from a 10 minutes wait to a dodged lobby to a “You can’t join the game” and I have to close the game and reopen it.
-
I just DC from a game because I swear the lag was so bad I froze for like 20 seconds when vaulting a window and I was damaged right after and lagged again and I was hooked. I never even got to see the killer because I wasn’t even in his terror radius, or lag made me believe so.

I’m saying that I’m not justifying the joke or the offense based on their ignorance or lack of intention. How is that contradictory? And how is an unintended action with a negative consequence not an offense? Negligence does have a consequence, legally.ChesterTheMolester said:

How is educating condescending? Really? You educate customers, you educate people on certain topics, say drugs, safe sex practices. You educate people when you give information on a topic that is usually not discussed. It is not a matter of feeling you know better, it’s a matter of making information available to others whether they agree or not with the topic. But it definitely IS condescending, when it's about moral, religious or personal opinions. If you know a lot about astrology or Korean history and I don't, it's obviously not condescending, and no reason for me to feel insulted if you propose to educate me. However, everyone has some sort of view on the "human experience", life, morality, and so on. Again, suggesting to "educate" someone implies you claim to know better, without even bothering to ask why they feel the way they do. It is a dead end.
Whoever said educating is about transmitting moral, religious or personal opinions? When you educate you provide information. Educating is not telling you to accept homosexuals because your belief is wrong, it is telling you that homosexuals are not the same as HIV, that babies adopted by homosexual parents don’t magically turn gay, that homosexuality is not a sickness nor a mental disease.

Correct me if I read your response incorrectly
Im not talking legal term, and i haven't said there was no offense, there was no offense GIVEN. Huge distinction. If someone takes offense and reacts "badly", and the result is something unethical, then its all on the one who has taken the offense , in this case the gay. Saying that just because someone is LGBT he is not in control over his emotion is not only ridiculous but attacks their agency in return.
Okay, I think I know where the confusion is.
Someone feels offended by a joke and gets mad. Offender doesn’t know he is provoking this.
I said I don’t justify the offender because of his negligence, I also said that instead of getting mad at them I would rather educate them.
Unfortunately some people dont want to be educated. They are close minded an ignorant. Until they go through a similiar situation it means nothing to them. People would rather provoke and get a rise out of somebody then actually talk. An i personally don't have time to waste on it. An what do you mean joke??? Because i dont see how its funny. Its more like someone is taking a word and turning it into a negative. A word people use to idetify themselves with. So now am i a stupid gay...? Hahaha no.... How about we educate these people by throwing them a dictionary?
Another appeal to emotion here.
And what i've said applies to you too, just because you don't think its funny does not mean they are close minded and ignorant, though im pretty sure you will assume it, which would speak more about your misanthropic mindset than it does about them. And btw being ignorant is different from being an edge lord.
Seriously trying to justify something that is wrong? If something bothers me i will speak up. Its not being sensitive its called speaking my mind. Ive delt with people like you. An im done entertaining you.
No wrongs are justifiable. We can change the approach depending on the circumstance. You should never stop speaking your mind, that’s how changes happen. The way you speak your mind is what defines it all though. Some people do not understand reason and won’t stop being #########, some others never had the chance nor the challenge to change. I make war with the former (not literally). I sit down and share a coffee with the latter.

First off, you can dodge lobbies with high ping. I sometimes get into lobbies with over 800ms and it’s a hi-n-goodbye for me. Anyway, given the lack of games lately, I have to live with 300/350 ms games. All in all, they aren’t that bad.
If the ping goes up tremendously during a chase, then you might be facing something else.
However, the servers won’t be here earlier than expected I guess. It would bring more complications into the game due to a poor and rushed transfer. -
You mentioned blocking a hook as a toxic element. Is that how the majority of the community sees it?
I know for a fact a lot of survivors like to Tbag or taunt or try and make fun of you. When I find one of those and I end up downing them I will mostly camp them and I know their friends will stop doing anything to try and save them. It’s a win-win situation for me, no gens done and one less annoying survivor.
Toxicity is real in this game and I would go as far as to say that some players go into the game only to be toxic, because they do nothing else (some streamers are the best example of this).

They are, but the difference is one of them you have a whole game to deal with if you get caught in NoED it's because you tunnelled gens, most totems are easy to find and the spawn points are well known.
It takes 1 survivor to go on the hunt whilst 2-3 run gens.
DS on the other hand buys the survivors more time guaranteed unless the person misses the skillcheck which above rank 10 won't happen.
You eat the DS he runs if he has insta heal that's a whole new chase or he loops you and you get your second hit.
You dribble and it's again wasting the killers time not to mention opening the killer up to flashlight saves and hook blocks.
PS4 skill checks are sometimes hard not to miss, dem FPS doe
On PC the skillcheck dial is the same. Even at max FPS in the game the skillcheck dial still looks like it's going 30 FPS.
When Legion came in they made it smooth, then changed it back for some reason.

They could easily fix it and add a small patch to the game. If they can’t fix it while in use, then removing it would be the wiser option. The bug by itself is not a problem, but people crash when combining other actions.
Like this Claudette was running away from the Wraith, she approached a pallet, killer lunged, Claudette dropped the pallet, killer hit the pallet, Claudette fell to the ground, DC. I was right next to them on a gen and took some screenies because the blood pump was fun at the moment haha -

NOED is perfectly fine. Thank the genrushing survivors for that perk lol.
It is. If they took a minute to break totems it would never activate.
I was playing in a SWF and I got yelled at for breaking totems. So I left one unbroken. NOED pops up and the killer massacres all but myself. I remembered where that last totem was, broken, walked out the gate laughing as the rest of them were on the hooks. Needless to say, I was not invited to play in the next match.

Lots of people crash due to it. It’s even worse if in a chase.

Primary objectives, Do generators and Escape
Side Objectives: Do totems, Rescue People and run from the killer when the time calls for it
Where is this rushing crap coming from?
I mean, repairing generators is the main objective, like you mentioned. Repairing generators effectively due to the killer not being able to find people or due to the killer not being able to finish a chase faster, is that rushing? Now, using a hex or a perk to down people instantly or even a Mori to avoid the hook, wouldn’t that be the actual rush? You are avoiding a damage hit and 2 potential hooks and finishing the game earlier for that survivor. -
So I’m here waiting to find a trial... 12 minutes and counting.
-
Bad. As a solo survivor I can go from instant matchmaking to 30 minutes of waiting to finding a lobby to be ditched right after.

I’m not trying to apply the term to everything. No, its not. It is not even close to hate speech. What the OP spoke about, yes, that is hate speech. Me hurting your feelings is not hate speech.
Hate Speech definition: abusive or threatening speech or writing that expresses prejudice against a particular group, especially on the basis of race, religion, or sexual orientation.
Please show where that definition states me making you feel bad is hate speech. I was completely with you on nearly all points, but that comment loses you all credibility.
I said whatever makes someone feel bad in the terms of the topics discussed above. Maybe “making someone feel bad” wasn’t the correct expression. The person before me only mentioned it is hate speech if it calls for violence or crime, which I think is incorrect. As long as you insult someone and provoke any kind of psychological or social effect on the topics your definition clearly states, plus some others, it is hate speech, given the circumstances we are involved in, an online game where people you meet probably live in a completely different hemisphere and you will never get to know beyond this platform.
TLDR, hurting someone’s feelings isn’t hate speech but people who abuse these topics in the game don’t just tell you you are gay, they tell you you and your whole family should die because you were born an abomination and that they hope you are raped and brutalized because you were not meant to be.
Hate speech is very specific. What you are talking about is someone being a major prick/douche/jerk/[BAD WORD]/bully (please feel free to add more terms to the list). It is all reportable and should be stopped, I do not disagree. I disagree when you casually toss around a term like hate speech and try to apply it to everything. Being a victim of hate speech, violence and social phobias due to who and what I am, I know what it is. Someone calling you an abomination in an online game is not hate speech, its just being a prick. You lessen the impact of the phrase when you so casually use it however you want.

That is wrong on so many levels. If somebody from a distant country calls me a Slovakian by mistake (I'm from Hungary), and it makes me feel bad, is that hate speech? If somebody voices his/her opinion that I'm hideously ugly, and it makes me feel bad, is that hate speech? If someone has a political view that's very different from mine, so much that it makes me feel bad, is that hate speech?
No. By forming an opinion, any opinion, you risk hurting someone's feelings. And you should. If you make it clear your intent is not malicious, that should not put any relatively stable person off. Again: honesty is much better than sparing the feeling of others at any cost. That said, I can see the topic is important to you. Let me just say, I'd never actually insult you, even in a way I find funny, exactly because I don't know you. Decent people can learn to distinguish when it's proper and when it's not proper to get involved in a nasty banter. Clearly it's not when talking to people we don't know. And those who don't realize that should be punished to a reasonable measure. But. You also have to realize, there are some communities, subcultures, groups, etc where a certain level of nastiness is an integral part of regular communication. Some of those subcultures are more extreme (if you're a marine, you can't exactly report your drill sergeant to his superiors because he's mean to you...), some others less so, but still accept a bit of trash talk. Gaming is such a world. If you can't take at least some of the trash talk there, it's just not for you.
I'm not saying it makes you less worthy as a person or anything. But you do benefit if you manage to toughen up. I understand it's more difficult to girls/women. But who do you think is happier, someone who emotionally collapses every time when facing a bit of (verbal!) nastiness, or someone who shrugs, returns it in kind and goes about her business like nothing happened?
If you are harrassing someone to the point they feel bad, it is hate speech. That’s what I’m saying. Every case in this and other games where people complain about this is not a “oh dude, you’re black”, you and I both know people go way overboard to the point of making it hate speech. -

Have you ever read about how many people kill themselves based on insults and “fun comments that weren’t meant to be hateful”? You do assume everyone else is going to accept your comments as fun because you think they are fun. Let me break it to you, people shouldn’t try and guess what YOU mean by your comments, you should express so that others do understand them. Trust me, if we were nice to each other all the time, it would be horribly boring. Hatred is part of life. A fun part too. You can pretend it's not there but don't go and demand others to hide it only to make you feel better.
Why do you assume it would make me feel better if you hid your horrendous personality?
And being nice is boring? Really? Hatred is a fun part of life?
Why am I even replying to the likes of you, I wonderHonesty is better than pretending. The "fun part" was obviously meant for trolling (hoped you'd get it).
I'd like to point out how easily some people drop "hate speech". Insulting others is not hate speech. The way I see it, the only acceptable definition of hate speech is direct call for violence or crime. Yeah, punish that. However, someone insulting you is very often just to test your boundaries. Nothing to do with hatred, just checking if you can take it. Because if you can, you've earned some respect.
Whatever makes someone feel bad is hate speech. And if you insult me only to “test my boundaries” and see if I’m worthy of your respect... oh man, save it. -
Of course I cannot control what someone else says, but that doesn’t mean I should accept it nor that it shouldn’t be punished if it goes against the rules and the code of conduct.ChesterTheMolester said:
Feel free to ask that, its fruitless.Gorgonia said:I’m a bit impressed at how many of you ask for the victim to suck it up, to toughen up instead of addressing the real problem. Why do we naturalize hate speech and behaviour? Why do I have to learn to live with hate? Why doesn’t the bully have to learn to live with respect towards others?
Everything grows in its ideal enviroment, either the kids have been raised badly by #########, or holier-than-thou parents, whose kids are naturally programmed to rebel as teens.
We cannot control all of humanity, its impossible, we can only control our own reactions and MAYBE parents that are close enough. -
I feel the OP. A single survivor left with urban evasion can be a pain in the ass if they know how to stealth. I’ve been on the survivor side and I end up running into the open to get chased. Sometimes the killer is like “okay, let’s farm, I made no points after your 3 pals dc” hah
