I'm quoting Mandy
"Due to allegations surrounding the original voice actor for Jonah, we took action to recast the role. It's important for us to be in line with the values we want to live by and promote within our community"
Afaik allegations doesn't always = fact but w/e
And you'd be correct, but until it can be proven in a Court of Law with testimonies and everything that entails they will remain just those- allegations. I was simply stating that innocent until proven guilty doesn't always apply when you've done everything in your power to make yourself look guilty (it has been almost a year since these allegations and no statement? no defence? no nothing? doesnt scream innocence). And as I mentioned above, if I were BHVR, I'd rather err on the side of caution than that of a potential predator.

What happened to innocent until proven guilty ?
The band dropped him back in November 2022 and he has since deleted all socials. Instead of providing proof against the allegations and Screenshots of the Victims' accounts and messages, he has vanished off the face of the earth.
I'm no psychology expert, but in a Court of Law that would be fairly damming evidence to a jury.

I hope this is an intentional change as Windows is by far the most used survivor perk in the game. It isn't only used by newer players or even only solo players, it's a strong perk in any situation.
A lot of people saying the perk isn't even that strong but clearly it is or it wouldn't be so widely used. Just because it isn't a perk that makes you faster or lets you do gens quicker, doesn't mean it's not a great perk.
Yes it wont fix awful maps but until they finally get around to doing that, if they ever will, it'll at least make it less braindead to chain vaults and pallets.
Nerfing perks based on useage and useage alone is a terrible idea when you could put all that effort into fixing the damn maps

I told the devs two years ago in many heated debates that lgbt representation was not necessary (As we're over represented. Note: Im gay) in DBD. Two years later, we got this. And the numerous posts in FB groups talking about how its always killers with pride flags (or especially the trans flag) that are toxic. Thanks BHVR for being part of the worsening stigma problem. 👍And if those killers arent actually gay or trans, they're using those symbols as an excuse to paint us in a bad light. Felix has also been mentioned by people not wanting to play him anymore as they figure he's now gay with his new revealing outfit. 😴
Itd be really nice if we discarded representation in this game and just focused on creating a fun, close to balanced game as possible rather than focusing on who people have sex with.
"It'd be nice of we discarded representation" why did you not care in August 2016 when the Nurse was confirmed straight, in October 2020 when Felix was confirmed to have a gf, when the Frank and Julie tome came out, when-

Playing Nurse/Blight and never looking back
Ironic that you say that, considering Lerys is widely regarded as Nurse and Blight's worst maps by a country mile (somehow even worse than RPD)
-
This requires literally the worst possible RNG you could get while not interacting with the survivors at all, all of whom have brought the strongest possible gen perks, items, and addons. A video would be helpful
-
EMPs can no longer fully self print. They will now self print up to 95% and require a Survivor to finish printing them.
If that's too strong, revert some of the previous needs (like fewer cases, activation time, etc) but that feels like the main thing Meatball Larry needs. Make people actually have to do something for the counter.
-
The one thing I dislike most is constant comparisons between the 2 games when they are fundamentally different. The only similarity is that they are asymmetrical horror games. Playing TCSM expecting DBD gameplay and vice versa will just cause disappointment.

I always feel peeps greatly overestimate the rigs many of us consolers are running.
It's still common to be literally on the couch a dozen feet away from an old ass tv, controller in hand listening to the dubious quality of that TV's speakers. Very much like I did when I was young on the ol' Colecovision.
I then get to explain all that to the modern gamer with an awesome PC sitting five inches from an awesome monitor and enjoying 120fps with a $200 headset. When I say yup being a DBD console killer is quite the experience, they dumbfoundedly ask why we even bother. I always encourage our PC cousins to borrow a friends PS4, fire up DBD, run the killer of their choice, and venture into the middle room of Lery's.... 🎮
Me with my RTX 3060 playing dbd at 30fps 960p quality on a TV from 1996 😔

@JPLongstreet said:
Two questions:
1. I'm on Xbox so I'm thinking I cannot do any of this, correct?
2. How could the game know, let alone block, programs running outside of DBD?
In terms of the second question, there isn't really a way. They can blacklist DBD on Nvidia Freestyle, but then everyone moves to reshade and nothing has been solved. Even if they were able to ban all third party applications, the physical monitors themselves often come with ways to change brightness/contrast/colour now, and good luck creating a program that can detect every single different piece of Hardware ever made, and all Hardware made in the future too.

They are a failed concept. Just like boons.
When was the last time we saw a boon perk? March 2022 with Sadako. It’s been a year and a half and we haven’t gotten one new boon perk at all. it seems like BHVR has just flat out gave up and stopped making boon and teamwork perks
To be fair when was the last time we got a new Scourge Hook perk? Like not reworking but a genuine new SH? That was also March 2022 with Sadako (Floods of Rage), but I wouldn't say they're a failed concept.

Go watch JRM's recent video and your opinion might change.
Also Otz was calling Meatball strong at first too. People initially were positive on Meatball.
Time will tell. I could be wrong. But it looks bad imo for Alien. Especially when survivors get smarter with turret placement.
Meatball is a funky spot. When people aren't good at EMPing he's probably better than Nurse. When people are good at EMPing he's about as good as Trapper.
But I'm not going to base my opinion off of a video of a Youtuber who's picked and chosen clips for a specific purpose of the video when I could instead base it on my own experience playing the game.

His power is fine. Singularity's power is fine.
But both are gonna get forgotten and never played because the survivors have totalcl control over them. Survivors being given toys that totally abolish any power the killer has is too much. It's not fun.
You will rarely see Alien just like you rarely see Meatball. A license can only carry you so far. See Freddy for example.
Alien will not played after the initial hype wears off. Because he's going to be Singularity part 2.
The flamethrowers didn't feel that powerful when I was playing him. Nowhere near as strong as Meatball's EMPs

This argument is bad. Because, yes, yes you can force them. By banning them if they do it. Pretty simple, and will end this entitled behavior very quickly. Most other games already do this.
The punishment system involving this will either be too harsh or too light. It's very difficult to strike up a happy medium without some trial and error first.
How do you tell the difference between unhook attempt escapes to give hatch, or to leave the game, or for a new player who knows no better? What if someone has an emergency, but because they've DCd before due to similar situations they come back to an account ban? Or if you have spotty Internet for a day, and when it comes back you find you've got a ban for dcing. What happens when people figure out the max amount you can dc within a timeframe and do it anyway up to a point?
This is why I say that these people should be taken into account when designing game systems (a la dc bots). Instead of investing time, money, and resources into a system that will either not ban enough or unfairly ban legitimate players, it's better to invest that time and money into other aspects of the game to ensure the other 4 players are screwed over as little as possible.
Unfortunately, sometimes you have to cater to them in creating something, because the opportunity cost of doing otherwise is too great.

welcome to licensing how can we help
-
Genuinely, this is really cute 💖
-
It's okay another 4 years and you may get a chance for cross progression.
-
Is it okay? No. But is it true? Yes.
If someone has decided, "Nope, I'm not playing this", you cannot force them to. They will go around sandbagging, DC, unalive on hook, or just alt tab AFK and do something else. People will always act like petulant children and throw their toys out the pram the moment they feel a whif of some minor inconvenience, so the best thing to do is to take this into account when designing game systems to screw over everyone else as little as possible.
-
@thisislastyearsmodel said:
I mean... that's kind of okay, I think. I'm in favor of, you know, not giving survivors 3 free health states in endgame, when the game is already (more or less) won or lost.

It was tagged “not a bug” in the bug tracker.
But then it still has the exact same problem of addon clutter and reducing the chances of a green item you want because it's got a separate offering. So even if it isn't a new realm it doesn't fix anything.
-
@Alice_pbg said:
if I'm not mistaken... both the alien and hux maps share a realm.
I still agree with you on what you're saying, just a minor correction
That's a bug. It's called the Dvarka Deepwood in-game, but it has its own map offering to go to the Nostromo Wreckage. Even if it isn't a bug, the fact it has its own offering just means that it still adds to the problem of bloodweb clutter and too many map offerings.

Definitely not. DBD has proven that live service games in this genre work- particularly due to the fact that DBD is wholly a multiplayer experience and the monetised gameplay content isn't all too expensive compared to other, similar games. It's a £15 base game with £3/£5 expansions (sometimes they're £10 for 3 character DLCs but they're very rare), where some of that content can be earned for free instead.
This is in stark contrast to some other games released lately cough diablo 4 cough, which release as a broken buggy mess, have singleplayer content but insist on requiring an internet connection to play, come fully equipped with all of their monetisations in tact but that's about it, have launch day DLC, etc. Baldurs Gate 3 is an exemplary video game, and I'm having the time of my life, but it's a lot more of an example as to what single-player AAA games should be, and less like what multiplayer-only, live service games should be.
-
@Nirgendwohin said:
Its true, but is there a reason they dont work together beside it is what it is?
Because add-ons are applied in the order of left to right. It's why you always want to use battery first, then filament second- it increases the flashlight life for longer. It's why certain add-on combinations that increase and decrease stats have a set order to get optimal use (Billy and Huntress used to be notorious for this- you'd use an add-on to increase charge time before the one that decreases it). Styptic/Syringe both consume the MedKit and all add-ons on use, so whichever one activates first consumes the second before it has a chance to be used.
That's my understanding of it, anyway.
-
Absolutely they can, just give me an option to disable them entirely. They're already client sided and play different voice lines for different people, and big man Nicky doesn't even talk to anyone except the player, so everyone can have them as long as I get the ability to turn them all off so I don't have to listen to Wesker or Pinhead ramble on to themselves for the 16th time this minute.

Tomie deserves her own chapter.
That said, almost EVERY chapter/collab lately has been from a Japanese movie, anime series, video game, or just Japanese-inspired or anime-inspired, to the point where it's 25% of the roster at this point. I mean, we've got... Spirit, Sadako, Trickster, Oni, Nemesis, Wesker, Skull Merchant, Attack on Titan.
Sadako and Nemesis probably deserve their spots in the roster, but we're still missing Chucky, Art the Clown, and a dozen other modern and classic horror icons that will come to your mind as you're reading this.
And, I mean, we don't even have a simple vampire or a werewolf yet. I think we need some back-to-basics horror. Dredge was the right idea.

The licenses are expensive? I thought it was just, "Here, if you let us use your character, you can have a 30% cut of sales" kinduva deal.
And I thought ST was removed mostly because a new video game was coming out.
Personally, I didn't think AoT deserved its own chapter. Would've bought it (and I ended up buying the killer skins, anyway), but I probably wouldn't have liked it. I read a volume or two of the manga back in the day before the anime became popular, but it was kinda meh. Dark at times, but was it really horror?
If it's something truly iconic, they should give it a chapter.
"The licenses are expensive? I thought it was just, "Here, if you let us use your character, you can have a 30% cut of sales" kinduva deal."
Anime licences are fairly expensive - at least going through my previous knowledge, when Bleach Brave Souls (which is licenced off of the anime) was trying to run TYBW characters (from the manga) they had to get an entirely different licence and it was so expensive they had to stop doing it for 2 years to recover 💀.
Also most licences require a flat fee plus royalties, and it's entirely possible the royalties are just too much.

But do you think that 200 pips without depipping would be worse then 90 pips with all the up and downs we have now? I think that it would be a big, phat net-positive with a capital P, while also appeasing the "nooo, I want some challenge" crowd. But the pressure would be out of the system and the curcial 4 pip games werent as nerve wracking anymore.
I think that 90 pips without depipping would be wonderful. Unless you depip more than you pip- which I do on the survivor side and definitely don't as killer- then more than doubling the required pips is a net loss.

In order to keep you occupied for a while.
If the only direction is up, 90 pips will be accumulate quite fast with the only stumbling block being the 4 Iri emblems in Iri ranks. But having 200 good matches in one month ain't that hard, remember, as long as you don't DC the only direction is upwards.
Okay but like I work part time and I'm a student full time, I want the games I play to feel like games and not like another chore. If people hit iri 1 quickly then good for them but having to go home and think about grinding just makes me not play and go do something else.
On a plus note, I've gotten pretty good at cooking recently..

Maybe he didn't say it. Maybe I am remembering wrong. I don't have a transcript of every livestream as wonderful as that would be, so all I can say is I remember him saying that they were going to try to make sure that another Stranger Things incident couldn't happen in the future.
And since we both don't remember that being said at all, and in fact remember the opposite being said, then yeah I feel like you're misremembering. There's no need to get so shirty ab it tho like just say you couldn't find the livestream 💀

That will never happen again, they have said. They now make sure that all future chapter licenses will be negotiated for the life of the game. That is NOT the case however for skins, as we saw with the recent removal of the Attack on Titan skins from the store.
Where have they said that? All they've said is that no matter what content being removed is always a possibility due to how licencing content works.
-
Did we not learn from 6.1.0 that nerfing based on popularity is a terrible way to balance?
Like, according to official dev stats Self-Care is still in the top five most used Survivor perks. Does it need a nerf because of that? Of course not.

How about read!
You're complaining that they fixed a bug that was in the game for literally years because it is now more disadvantageous and drop vaults look bad (which they did before the teleport bug was even a thing, too), and by that logic because you're complaining about how it is now then it's likely you thought it was fine then, hence why I made my comment.

Skins because the licenced are expensive and I don't want to see another chapter removed after a year
