I've made a post about this a long time ago, but I genuinely think that this game is not for a good amount of people. The amount of hate and bitterness that I see from people sometimes makes me believe that they're one bad night on DBD away from doing something bad IRL.

I played against this streamer the other night, slugged us constantly and let us all bleed out with 4 flans and a red mori. Whatever, it happens every so often with some people, nothing new right? Well my random teammates recognized him and said in the chat that they looked forward to the VOD so they can see him freak out again. Okay, Ill do the same I guess, it has me curious. So and I take a peek into the VOD the next morning and I was worried for how angry and bitter this young kid was. Maybe like 17 or 18 years old, saying some of the most vile things ever that would get me banned on here if I repeat them. Sure this isn't anything new to online gaming, but I've been around a long time with online gaming and this was reeeeally bad.

I tried going into his stream the next chance I could to try to befriend him, I asked him to play together or talk sometime. He immediately lashed out and said "I don't play with no name losers. I'm the top Wraith on the leaderboards for a reason." and banned me. I tried, I guess :( (Also this game has leaderboards???)

I've noticed other things like people being afraid to play killer because survivors will bully them. Content creators, big ones, making entire careers out of toxicity to get a rise out of people or to show how good they are at the game by lobby dodging and recording numerous games until they bully the right people for YouTube. I think that's why I made my entire playstyle around being "Babysitter Steve" and making sure everyone lives, then die afterwards for the killer. Defend the killer if my team lashes out on the killer in endgame chat. Maybe I can help people feel nice after the game?

If a game is making you stressed out to the point where you feel like you're afraid of being bullied or feel the desire to be rotten to other people who are just trying to have a good time, please take a break. That kind of mentality isn't healthy. I just want everyone to stay happy and safe, heck Ill even take being content.

There was an Asmogold video I watched where he was talking about Diablo Immortal and he said one of the truest things I've ever seen. He said that if a game is making the player base resentful, then the game will start dying quickly. He said there was a difference with being angry at the game, everyone gets angry, but when players start actively resenting a game then that game is dying. Resentful players are harder to bring back to the game and usually it spreads.

I linked the youtube video below where he talks about this and set it to start at the point-in-time where the resentment speech begins. It's only a couple of minutes long.

you all act like as if every match the survivors are potatoes. If you get a 3k and 4k often, atleast 4 or 5 times in a row, you will start to see more swfs, naturally. You only go against bad survivors CONSTANTLY if you are low mmr.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3039277#Comment_3039277

No, you did well and they possibly did a crucial mistake.

It's really the perks I used. They give a massive advantage to 1-step-camping. Dead Man's Switch, Ruin and NOED. With he increase in gen times, I bet I could get an even higher number of kills. Have to switch out Ruin with something else.

  • @MrMori said:

Nurse is just too hard to new players and too easy for experienced players. Making her attack during power a special attack would only kill build variety and mean new nurses couldn't get cheap 1ks with NOED, which in turn keeps them playing killer.

Someone suggested an idea I really liked. How about making Nurses Blink a timed ability like Oni's Blood rage? Before she has charged her power, she has a single blink, moves at 115, and can only blink to locations she can see. Then, once she gets a hit, or time passes or something, she gains her full power, which is what she is now, for 60 seconds. Then she has to earn it back again.

That would be a proper nerf to Nurse.

I'd like to see her where she can't blink through walls and floors. At least then she would be on the same playing field as every other killer in the game. Plus she's been top killer for too long.

  • @Izo_Quartz said:

he's basiscally on the level of a pro nurse, but without any of the skill nessasery to master the killer

I think it's still bad awful with botany. 2 perks to have 1 crap tier perk like before (old self care) + having to have kindred and bond on your build. Then no space for DS/OTR so just gonna get tunneled out of the game. Not worth it.

For solo queue, there is no adequate replacement for Self-Care. It's the most slot efficient, reliable healing perk for solo queue. With SWF, any of the other healing perks are fine. Heck, with SWF, I've ran no healing perks at all and done well. I'd never try that in solo queue, I've had too many teammates that just leave me hurt.

  • Thank you for the info. You are the best BrokenSouls. THE BEST!

  • @Marigoria said:

If I see anyone self caring when the update goes live I'll just suicide on hook. Want to make it a 3v1? here, have a 2v1 instead.

I wonder how many people would disconnect if I did 50 games as survivor and every time I'm injured, I go to the corner and heal with the new nerfed self-care.

  • @Cameragosha said:

Current just have only one is nurse.

    We need more stronger killer.

Have killer B and C tier too much.

    S-Tier is the nerf-tier. D-Tier is the buff-tier.

S-Tier is Nurse, Blight and Spirit with this coming update. (I think it might be argued that Dredge may be S-Tier).

Yes, one acquires game sense and that's worth a perk or two.

I was curious about the real numbers so I've checked. I was a bit off (more than a bit for Huntress)

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/O1AESCCBV321/image.png

Still, one can take a look and guess what killer someone is likely to perform better with.

Where did you get that info.

Matchbox Nurse is a much worse version of Nurse, yet Survivors still ragequit. Why?

It's about time Trapper was buffed to Nurse's level and Nurse is nerfed to Trappers current level. Trapper has been bottom tier for too long and Nurse has been top tier for too long. Plus Trapper is the mascot of DBD.

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

Demo is getting a lot of passive buffs

Every killer is getting a lot of global buffs which all work with each other. I have a feeling they overbuffed killer just judging from other games I've played and how multiple buffs end being multiplicative instead of additive.

I think it's about time to buff Trapper to the level of Nurse and nerf Nurse to the level of Trapper.

  • I play in a 4 man SWF and tell my other 3 teammates to DC and I still escape 100% of the time.

    Trust me bro.

I've been saying for a long time now that camping and tunneling are the biggest problems in this game. When it happens I instantly lose interest in playing/ There is nothing fun about being on the hook having no option but hope someone on your team can hook trade with you. Tunneling is even worse because if you get unhooked your 2nd chance at being able to play the game is now being ruined by someone who thinks its fair to go right after you straight off the hook. Its even worse if you were being camped before that. These 2 things are just major deterrents for me and for many people I've played with before. I don't know if the changes coming will discourage killers from doing this. All I know is for too long this has been the norm and its time for camping and tunneling to be a thing of the past.

I definitely think that standing close enough to a survivor on a hook so that you can take 1 step and hit the survivor is way more rewarding than the effort it takes to do it. My biggest win streak, getting 3 to 4 kills, as killer was when I did 50 games in a row, standing about 1 step from the survivor. Near the end of it, I was getting survivors way more skilled than me and I assume I was at the top of MMR since it was 50 wins in a row.

However, my biggest grip is when someone does it from the start of the game and just judging from my games, that has increased a lot. (Also, there's a lot of forum threads about camping and tunneling which makes me think the same).

  • @INoLuv said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3037687#Comment_3037687

You seem extremely salty. Tunneling is rushing the kill, just like survivors rush their objective.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3037587#Comment_3037587

Against good survivors it does not work.

I was playing against really good survivors and were in SWFs, the saves they were pulling off were amazing and incredibly coordinated. They were far far more skilled than I was. I would assume I was in the highest MMR bracket because I had 50+ wins in a row (3 or 4 kills). The game is heavily weighted toward a killer who camps within 1 step of the survivor and it's easy.

  • @Iron_Cutlass said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/332112/survivors-are-not-having-fun-with-this-game-anymore

To be fair, people DC or let themselves go on hook over the smallest of things. I dont tunnel or camp, nor do I use strong builds (I use Hillbilly with BBQ, Shadowborn, and Bloodwarden on some occasions) but people still DC and such. I play both sides, and I can understand getting upset because of the killer using a strong build, or camping and tunneling, but I do neither.

I think people just get tired of DbD, or burnt out on the game. People need to take breaks. If they keep playing over and over, they are bound to find something that upsets them a lot, leading to more frustration since they are already upset, it can build up a lot if unmoderated. But this happens on both sides, this isnt exclusive to just survivors or killers alone.

SoloQ can also be super painful since you have 4 people with some idea what they are doing but literally no coordination whatsoever... Ive said this for a long time. DbD needs voicechat, rather it be proximity based or just VC in general, I wouldnt mind. Survivors need teamwork to win, it's by their design, but literally nothing about the game's design supports teamwork in the slightest. "But killers win because of weak links, and SoloQ enforces that", I dont care, SoloQ shouldnt be as terrible as it is.

I agree, people DC because they're first down, playing against a Nurse or their house is on fire. It happens.

But I'm personally seeing survivors DCing when they're getting camped at gen 5 while the killer can take 1 step and re-down the survivor and it's happening much more often than it use to happen. I have around 2,000+ hours in the game, with it being about 1/2 killer and 1/2 survivor (It may be more killer to be honest, I don't remember exactly when my friends started wanting to play the game with me). And I can see a large uptick in camping/tunneling at gen 5.

And again, I totally understand camp and tunneling in a bunch of situations as killer. However, not at gen 5.

Not against competent surv players with basic knowledge of the game.

I can pull off camping within 1 step of a player with a 3k to 4k win streak, even at higher levels of play. In fact, I was able to progress to some of the highest levels of play when I did that. And yes, it's pretty braindead.

Is there any reason to insinuate I'm biased and narrow minded?

Are you able to insert yourself into the killers head to understand? Some may be trolls, others had several bad games in a row and now they're at their wits end on maps like Eeyre, Badham Preschool, and Mothers Dwelling.

I think it takes quite an ego to assume all these incidents of facecamping aren't just part-time killers without the proper toolset and long-time killers not burnt out from W'ing over and over across gigantic maps. But just like you have a different experience as killer, I would say it's not about you.

You are assuming I don't have 1,000+ hours as survivor and 1000+ hours as killer. Again, this is something that should be addressed to improve the survivor experience. Survivors and Killers both deserve to have fair and fun games.

"Do you think Killers enjoy face camping?"

Seeing how rampant it is and how much they gloat in the forums and postgame chat, yes I do believe they enjoy it.

Camping within 1 step of the hook and/or tunneling someone out is an issue for survivors and makes a miserable game play experience. Just as killers need to fun in the game, so should survivors. Both can have enjoyable game play experiences.

  • @Wondertainment said:

No, they aren't. You would do yourself a big favor by purging the word "toxic" from your vocabulary. It is meaningless because it is entirely subjective.

Would camping within about 1 step of the survivor and tunneling that survivor out of the game be toxic though. I would say there are definitely players using that to harass other players and they are doing it intentionally. You don't do that without knowing that it ruins the other persons game.

  • @ChiSoxFan11 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3037304#Comment_3037304

No, I don't think getting camped or tunneled at 5 gens is necessary. When I play killer, I don't do that. Your point?

Has it happened to me before? Absolutely. Going down against a Bubba early, getting drug to the basement and face-camped right out of the gate isn't particularly enjoyable. It happens. I can live with it, because as I said, it happens infrequently to me -- and I play in the ballpark of 30 hours a week, split across both roles -- that I'm not going to lose sleep over it.

It's not a "problem" to want to see something changed, and I'm not sure where you're getting the idea that I either said or suggested that it is -- I on;y shared MY experiences, no more. One of us is lumping the thoughts and experiences of everyone in a certain role together (hint: it's not me). What I will say is that, until there's a mechanism in the game to encourage that to NOT happen -- and one that isn't inherently abusable -- then it'll happen again, and I'm chalk it up to a bad game and move on to the next. It doesn't mean I'm going to enjoy that match, but I'm not going to dwell on it either.

One of us is lumping the thoughts and experiences of everyone in a certain role together (hint: it's not me).

Am I wrong though. Do you think any person who plays survivor has fun being camped out of the game at gen 5. I think we can globally say that all survivors don't have fun being camped out of the game at gen 5. A vast majority of them probably think it's unfair also.

  • @ChiSoxFan11 said:

I always shake my head at any posts that, whether purposefully or inadvertantly, group all "killers" or "surviviors" together as a hive mind, as if there's newsletters and custom jackets that go out to people playing the role as if everyone thinks the same. Most people -- at least the ones who want to get the most out of the game (and certainly, those who want to get better at it) -- play both roles. And that's what they are -- not "killers" or "survivors", but individual people who're playing a role in a video game. No more or less.

Speaking only from my own experience -- since I'll certainly acknowlege that there are people who play either role who don't enjoy the game for one reason or another -- I've enjoyed playing survivor more in the last month (and during the event) than I have since I started playing the game two years ago.

That's mainly due to getting better after having put in enough hours on both ends. I run more meme builds now than ever before, I occasionally (when with my SWF group) play perkless or with No Mither as a challenge, and my solo survivor experience is usually pretty good -- I crammed in a bunch of matches this morning before the event ended, with far more escapes than deaths (and the deaths, with the exception of one match, ended up with 2-3 other people escaping). It's been stress-free and fun, and I find far less intensity in that role than when I play killer. I pipped to Rank 1 faster this month than I have in any month since they changed the Grade system.

To answer another question -- is it fun to be face-camped or tunneled? Not especially, though if my getting face-camped or tunneled means my other teammates get out (even in solo), then that's a "win" on my end. But it doesn't happen with the frequency that some people claim it does -- there are stretches where there's a number of bad matches, but that's to be expected -- no one can expect every game to be great for everyone all around. That's simply not realistic, not should it be, in a game where there's invariably going to be winners and losers in a match. But I'm skeptical of people who're claiming it's happening every match, just as I'm skeptical of people who claim every match they have as killer is against a loaded SWF, or every survivor match is against Nurse or Blight, etc., etc. (as that's not my experience, and I play a LOT of matches).

You agree that being camped within 1 step and tunneled at gen 5 is not fun. Do you feel that being camped within 1 step and being tunneled at gen 5 is necessary?

I think camping and tunneling as the game progresses is fine, I'm not saying that should go away.

But, at gen 5, there isn't any strategy in that, it doesn't need to be part of the game and is very unfun for the survivor. Why is it a problem to ask for an issue a large number of survivor players find unfun to be fixed, you included.

  • @INoLuv said:

Tunneling can be weak depending of map and if the survivors do gens, same with camping, far from being a issue, the blame is on braindead survs.

There's no reason to call survivors "braindead". It's just uncalled for.

Why should I give a ######### about your fun again?

You absolutely shouldn't, no one would. Even if survivors didn't do all of that stuff, you still wouldn't care about survivors fun.

So asking a killer-main to fix the game for survivor-mains would be absolutely insane. In fact, asking for killer-mains input on a situation that is entirely a survivor problem, would also be insane. In fact, killer-mains input on a survivor problem will be obviously be useless.

If survivors are continually complaining on these forums about face-camping and tunneling at gen 5. Then survivors-players are seeing a problem and telling the developers there's a problem. There not here asking for killer-mains to fix the problem, they're asking the developers to fix the problem.

But tell me something, do you have fun when you are face-camped at gen 5? I'm not asking if you forget about it and go to the next game. I'm asking, do you have fun when you are face-camped at gen 5? Do you feel the game is fair, when a killer can camp you at gen 5 and completely keep you from playing the game?

Just seems really weird that it appears the hill you chose to die on literally sits next to a similarly sized hill for killers.

Lets not pretend survivors are "only" dcing because of face camping. I admit face camping contributes to it but I have survivors dc because they were the first one to be found.

More people playing killer will affect my que time greater than survivors quitting the game. If this game were an MMO, killer is a tank/healer role and survivor is a dps. I have no trouble finding parties :p

I just don't get why those people still playing the game and DC when it's not fun at all.

DBD is fun for players if the game is fair.

You get face-camped at gen 5 and then you see the game as unfair. You go to another game and get face-camped at gen 5, you get angry and disconnect.

Sure there are a few people disconnecting because they had a bunch of bad games in a row, the house catches fire or they woke up in a bad mood. But there's a lot more DCs and suicides than what is normal. I think you can see the increase in the number of forum posts about face-camping and tunneling at gen 5. About every other game now, I'm seeing face-camping or tunneling at gen 5.

Video game players expect a game to be fair and right now, they don't see DbD as fair.

Do you have any theory on why this is happening?

Survivors are not having fun with Dead by Daylight anymore.

The developers listen to the killers telling them they aren't having fun and have tried to fix it, yet let the same old problems that survivors have always had since the beginning of the game fester and get worse. Almost every other game has turned into face-camping at gen 5 or tunneling at gen 5. That's straight up not fun.

You are telling me basekit BT does not help with Camping? You are kidding me.

5 seconds is not enough time. Since every killer knows BT is basekit and is 5 seconds long, they will just do a count of 5 and re-down the survivor.

Making BT basekit is a nerf to BT because every killer knows every survivor has BT, so they will always do a 5 count and down a survivor, instead of hitting the survivor on the off-chance they don't have BT.

I'm guessing you're not aware that survivors are by far the huge majroity of the active player base? People looked into who was in the que for 24 hour periods. There are regular times where there are 4000 survivors in queue and only 30 killers.

Show me where you are getting this information.

  • @HexPleaseLetMeSpeak said:

I honestly don't think adding more perks or more ways for SURVIVORS to avoid tunneling is going to change anything. The biggest reason WHY tunneling is usually happening and the main priority for killers? There's literally no incentive to actually going for multiple hooks on multiple people.

There's no reason to, unless the team is quite clearly very bad and you can get away with it, all you're doing is wasting time and getting your gens blasted through if you're trying to go for hooks. It just doesn't work against good players.

If you want killers to tunnel less, add an actual reason for them to go for hooks on someone else. Why would I waste time to go for that full HP Nea who has zero hooks, if I can just go for the Feng who just got off the hook and is vulnerable. Why would I waste time for something that won't give me an advantage, if I can quickly get someone completely out of the game and will actually help me get some pressure.

It's less about tunneling being too strong and more about the fact that going for multiple hooks is too weak of a strat and just doesn't work. And this is coming from a guy that mostly plays terrible killers and still goes for hooks a majority of the time, or at least will full on leave hooks and try not to tunnel as much as possible. But if I feel like winning some day? I have to tunnel. Not because I want to, but it's because I HAVE to if I want to stay competitive and try to win, without getting completely washed.

There is a subset of players who only want to ruin other players game experiences. These exist in survivor and killer. This subset of toxic players was unintentionally given some of the best tools to completely ruin other players game experiences, in fact, they can stop players from playing the game.

Face-camping and tunneling at gen 5, is a god-send to toxic players. No amount of anti-face-camping and anti-tunneling incentives will ever stop these people from doing it.

There's another thread where a new survivor player was camped in all 5 of the first games he played. After which he uninstalled. It's not healthy for the game and it has become very widespread.

  • @cyniChris said:

That's what the devs are trying to do - buffing killers so it it feels like less of a necessity to camp (or tunnel), rather than punishing it. The vast majority of killers will do it significantly less (after a bit of adjusting) and only the ones who want to camp (or tunnel) right off the bat will do it.

As for banning, nah. If they start punishing killers, they'll have to punish stuff survivors do as well, and that's a whole other mess nobody wants.

This is just not going to happen. You can make killers ten times stronger and they'll still camp. Camping has nothing to do with how strong the killer is but exists because toxic players want to make other players lives miserable. If anything, it should be removed because it enables toxicity.

If they had made it so survivors breathe normally while injured with IW instead, I would’ve been fine with that. Because that at least gives you something.

Also I didn’t say it was THE biggest downside of being injured, it’s just one of them. No Mither is obviously terrible.

Yes the game needs diversity. But as long as IW remained unchanged you would never see hardly any diversity in perks in that department other than maybe the occasional Lucky Break.

There should be another perk that makes you silent and gives you something. Maybe Lucky Break could make you silent and if you get hit, then you get the other benefits like normal. There really needs to be another perk that does what IW does.

I wouldn't mind the developers getting rid of IW and put it on several other stealth perks. Maybe Lucky Break, Parental Guidance and other stealth perks. That way you can choose why flavor of IW you get.

Well, first, I've played quite a few multiplayer online competitive games, and pickrates really don't always reflect winrates. (yet a lot of developpers consider pickrates as the God statistics that prove something is good or bad, and in a lot of games, they will nerf top picked stuff into uselessness, or buff low picked stuff into being OP because they were never OP or UP).

Self care being a prime example of that, it's not a strong perk, it's arguably a weak perk now because of sloppy butcher. But it's a convenient perk for solo players.

iron Will isn't weak. I didnt say that. It's a good perk. I actuallyu don't mind making it disabled when exhausted. But if it's not at 100%, it litterally does nothing.

Why is it played that much? It litterally does what it does no matter what. It's a simple perk effective at what it does and it doesn't require any additional input from its user. It's also extremely strong for beginners. I see a lot of survivors try to hide without it because, as a survivor, it can easily feel like you're quiet, when in the killer pespective, you're not, because the killer doesn't hear the terror radius. Iron Will fixes one of the biggest mistakes beginners can do.

But overall, it just allows to evade more efficiently. Other perks do that, some even better (Lucky break, quick and quiet, Boon: Shadowstep). But they require playing around it.

A Perk like Iron Will will ALWAYS be either trash, or see high pickrates. Just like self care. You can't balance it because it will always be attractive.

Developers, in general, should aim at making perks balanced, rather than aim at stopping survivors for playing a perk just because too many play it.

Developers, in general, should aim at making perks balanced, rather than aim at stopping survivors for playing a perk just because too many play it.

    This.

There's reasons perks like Self Care are used so much, it's because it fixes a game play issue for solo queue that no other single perk will do as effectively.

Iron Will is another perk that is the only perk that does what it does. If Iron Will was nerfed, but another perk that made you silent was buffed, it would be a different story.

Gen time increase, not ideal gameplay wise, but probably good for balance. The 2,5% instant regression when kicking a gen is probably the very best change for killers here, design wise especially.

Pallet breaking speed, not sure about that one. It's fine where it is right now in my opinion, though maybe it could work. I can get behind the gen kick speed and the slight cooldown reduction when hitting a survivor, the speedboost reduction is unnecessary though.

The bloodlust buff is beyond bad. It's already not a liked mechanic, and with the other buffs to killers, if anything, I would like an duration increase until it klicks in, and not a decrease. 20/35/50 seconds sounds much better.

The anti tunneling measure on the other hand are not even nearly enough. 5 seconds of endurance and haste status effect is way too little. It has to be at least 12 seconds, preferably even 20 seconds. Survivors should also leave no scratch marks, no blood of pools, and make no grunts of pain for those 20 seconds.

Last but certainly not least, you absolutely HAVE to increase the hook phase duration of survivors on hooks. Right now each phase takes 60 seconds, it needs to be buffed to at least 80, preferably 90 seconds, especially now since gen times are increased.

The buffs to killers look good in general, but there is no reason to be so much more cautious when it comes to buffing survivors against camping and tunneling. If killers normal gameplay gets buffed much more, to incentivise them to play more fairly, the bad strategies, camping and tunneling, need to be nerfed far more than they are being nerfed.

Camping might even get buffed with gen times being increased and hook phase durations not being increased as well. That's bad, it needs to be nerfed, and hard.

Also, please don't come here with the entire bs of the devs only caring for killers. It's not true, they don't prefer any side, never have. These balance changes are just tilted towards killer too much, I am sure BHVR will realise this if enough people give them actual, constructive criticism, instead of being whiny like a 10 year old.

Edit: I see they are even buffing quite a few of the slowdown perks. And not nerfing the meta slowdown perks a lot either. This is really too much in my opinion, at least with the current, weak anti-tunneling buffs that have been listed. I don't get it.

2nd Edit: That nerf to DS, dear lord that's bad. Killers are getting a lot of help to ensure playing fair becomes viable, there is no reason why tunneling and camping shouldn't be nerfed to the ground as compensation. I really don't want to end up with 20 minute killer queue times.

I think all the global killer buffs is going to multiplicatively buff killers because all the buffs work together.

10% attack speed, fast bloodlust, 10% faster kicking gens, 10% faster breaking pallets, 10 extra seconds on all gens and a 2.5% gen regression on kick.

This is a massive amount of global buffs, that look small, but since they all interact with each other, they make each buff much more significant.

Of course we can, he's not playing sweaty 24/7, he'll lose just like normal person.

And on top of it, there is a fact MMR aren't working for 99% of time, so if you seriously think his weird matches proved something you are literally wrong.

All it prove is he can casually win against some randos most of the time, and that's all.

You don't have proof MMR isn't working and by all accounts it is working exactly as intended.

There's plenty proof of my statement, but there isn't any proof of yours. There have been tournaments where none Nurse/Blight killers have won and we know that's the best against the best. There have been a lot of streamers who have done Otz's challenge, and pretty much all the well known streamers are high MMR.

However, you don't have anything backing up your points.

The 10 second increase to base time is significant. How many times have you as a killer walked up to a gen and the survivors finished it as you approached? Every single one of those close calls now has up to 10 extra seconds on the clock.

The multiple global buffs killers will be receiving will probably end up being what to much. All those buffs interact with each other multiplicatively.

  • @fulltonon said:

Literally no one can understand whether they are on high MMR or not, you are just trolling at that point.

Otz is definitely high MMR. I don't think anyone on these forums doubts that.

Otz didn't prove anything. Nor is otz the DBD bible or standard lol

The fact he did it proves that with enough experience, any killer is viable. And remember, this challenge was duplicated by a lot of other streams.

Saying all the other killers aren't viable, when someone in fact did win with them at high MMR without perks and a 30 second head start, shows this is not the case.

  • @fulltonon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3031609#Comment_3031609

When did otz proven every killer is viable against actually decent SWF?

All he did was killing lackluster survivor with all the weird restriction.

He was doing this at high MMR and I think that's about all we need to know. There have been several streamers that have duplicated this too.

  • @IlliterateGenocide said:

For the attack cooldown im really worried its just going to make camping easier, especially against console players.

but im more worried about the Speed boost nerf after getting hit those .3 seconds will make a lot of difference.

if the changes were one or the other i think it would be fine

attack cooldown buff but keep current Speed boost after hit or something

The pallet breaking speed is fine but combined with the other 2 it feels like it will make a HUGE diffrence

    but i guess well see

I really like the gen damage tho.

What has me worried is there are way to many global buffs to killers and based on other games, such as League of Legends, when you have multiple buffs, the buffs aren't additive, they're multiplicative.

A 10% attack speed buff, a 10% pallet breaking speed buff, faster bloodlust, %2.5 gen damage on kick and 10 extra seconds on gens. That's a lot of global buffs and when they all start working together, it's going to be massive.

You dont need stats to know that Nurse is broken.

@Topic: Saying that Nurse is the only viable Killer is really wrong. Every Killer in the game can win against the majority of Survivors. Nobody in this forum will encounter teams which are only beatable with Nurse on a constant basis.

Exactly. Otz has proven every killer is viable, without perks and with a 30 second head start. So saying Nurse is the only viable killer is simply untrue and everyone knows it.

You could however say that Nurse is so broken, that once you learn her you are going to get close to a 4k every game, on average.

  • This patch so far.

    1. Omega Blink Nurse was a problem we nerfed, lets bring it back
    2. Decisive Strike have a 3 second stun was a problem and buffed to 5 seconds, lets bring 3 second Decisive Strike back.
    3. Spirit was an issue so lets buff Iron Will, lets nerf Iron Will

It's like the developers don't learn from their past mistakes.

I understand, I use Jeff a lot. That is an issue that BHVR should look at changing by making all the sounds survivors make when injured the same level - Ace level maybe. Survivors have plenty of perks that give them the ability to aid in escaping a chase. As for NEVER being able to escape, come now, you can escape chases without using IW.

There's a lot of plays you can make with IW, that you can't make any other way. Like switching back, hiding in a corner during a loop, window and pallet switchbacks, etc. It removes the ability for survivors to do things they normally can't do. I am totally against remove survivor options and this removes a lot of survivor options.

Someone didn't read very clearly. I supported most of the survivor perk nerfs (aside from Self Care and DS which were both unnecessary as they were already nerfed)

I also think the Corrupt nerf was too much. which you would know if you read

I agree with you on Self-Care, because it disproportionately affects solo queue which is already running at a -15% win rate deficit.

Also agree on DS. The stun time should be reverted to 5 seconds.

As worded, it doesn't immobilize the survivor. I highly doubt that it immobilizes the survivor due to BHVR's track record.

The problem here is that DH was THE most oppressive and overused perk in the entire game. Nothing else even came close. People were expecting it to be nerfed in the same way that the killer perks were nerfed: OBJECTIVELY nerfed in a manner where there is no room for debate about whether or not testing in the PTB will determine if the change is a buff/sidegrade/nerf. We expected changes to dead hard where there would be zero room to interrupt the change as anything other than a blanket nerf with no upside, and the only debate is whether or not people will keep using it post-nerf or not.

    edit:

and don't forget how much of a HUGE buff this is for the subtle hackers out there with the auto-deadhards.

I don't understand why Dead Hard wasn't nerfed harder just because the developers destroyed Self-Care, which is solo-queues big goto perk. Heck, maybe the developers want solo-queue players to just quit playing, lol.

"I can track survivors with Iron Will. It's not that hard. The perk honestly isn't that amazing against good killers. It's also very map dependant because if map doesn't allow you to hide being structures, the perk is useless."

If it's not very good why do so many run it?

"if you don't like the perk, don't play it."

Most people don't like a perk because they feel it gives too much of an advantage to the other side. So what kind of advice is this?

The problem is Iron Will is needed for certain survivors such as Ash and Jeff. Plus why shouldn't survivors have the ability to escape the killer every once in a while. Without it, survivors will never be able to escape a killer.

My guess is it dipped below 50% I predicted between 40-50

The kill-rate for killers was hovering around a 55% average 6 months ago and there have been 3 survivor nerf patches in a row since then. It would be really suspect if kill-rates have went down in the past 6 months just out of the blue.
