Right now on the forum there is a post with a gif of a dude blowing his head off. Luckily im desensitised to that kinda stuff but thats unacceptable that a post like that could be allowed to be put onto this forum.

I'm sorry to anyone who ended up seeing that. That is just straight up disgusting and inhumane. I do hope the mods will take action on this ASAP. Because stuff like that is traumatizing and can really mess someone up.

I'll alwayss be baffled by the response to fog vials. They weren't even an issue. Killers said "annoying" and "spammable" and survivors said "fun" and "toy." Not exactly concerning wording on either side—and they got nuked. They appeared to be considering either a charge increase or an opacity revert and nothing happened.

Ikr? They were pretty fun to use! Ngl, I don't see the point in using fog vials anymore. They got so heavily nerfed. I'd rather refund all of my fog vials just for more bp haha

So OP….. there are a few things to consider

    1. The coding they use isn't perfect
    2. The base game doesn't function as we all see it

So at the end of the day it's more of if they push it then it'll end being broken but giving them time will cause more posts like this

You're missing the point. I'm not on about the coding aspect of it. I'm on about how frustrating tunneling and slugging has gotten so frequent, it's actually depressing and boring. And how BHVR promised the anti-tunneling and anti-slugging improvements, yet they were delayed due to be considered 'too punishing'.

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

No one is being forced to play a match they don't want to play. No one is physically restrained to their computer or console, with a mouse or controller physically glued to their hands. But people absolutely deserve punishments if they ragequit.

And people mainly DC for a selfish reason. Sometimes it's "this map is boring" or "I got chased first" or "I don't like the killer" or "I don't like one of the killer's perks" or "I don't like my teammates" or "I only want to play games where I'm clearly winning". Selfish selfish selfish.

Idk if that's made up assumptions or you just got really bad solo queue teammates...

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4013850#Comment_4013850

And the reason is a complete lack of respect for teammates, and a complete lack of respect for the rules.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4013858#Comment_4013858

The game is better off without frequent ragequitters. They are the #1 problem with solo q,. They should not be bargained with, since they act out of entitlement, and you can't fix that. They should be forced to play with other people that frequently ragequit, so they can ruin each other's games.

Really, just do that. Place the frequent ragequitters with each other. It's completely fair, because if someone thinks it's acceptable to ragequit, they should be 100% fine being in groups with other people that think the same way.

I'm sorry, I gotta disagree with that. Rage quitting isn't the main issue of Solo Queuing. As @THE_Crazy_Hyena said, people would mainly DC for a reason.

Hence, tunneling has gotten so frequent, people would DC as there isn't any point to continue playing. It makes matches boring as someone is always being targeted and the killer isn't going for anyone else. No one should be forced to play a match that is 'depressing'. The main issue for solo queue is lack of comms. I can't tell my allies if I'm being camped or need healing or whatever.

  • @Rokku_Rorru said:

Yeah, a few other people have said in other threads that they're needing 5 misses in the same situation too - so it's likely a widespread bug

I'm thankful that it has been killswitched, but I am still disappointed that BHVR has never actually tested this. And the fact that you're unable to unhook yourself when everyone is slugged is ridiculous. Would've been better if the whole thing got removed too as no one really likes it, and I miss getting the adrenaline of getting the 4% chance... 🫠

It would've been nice if they had a certain criteria that the match had to follow. For example, no one is able to unhook themselves within the first 5 minutes of the match. UNLESS you're using perks that grant yourself or others luck, using Deliverence OR using luck offerings. Then after the 5 minutes, players can use their attempts. There's no way of entirely stopping survivors from giving up, as they'll always find their way around it.

bruh how is this being downvoted? it's literally the most neutral question possible.

Aside from the flaw of being given a dc penalty for being tunneled i think its a great addition. (which ik is killswitched rn thankfully) it just needs to bring back the 2 missed skillcheck deaths when there are only 2 survivors.

Ikr? Just been downvoted for no reason lol

Ikr? It'll just feel like a straight punch to the face lol

  • @Nazzzak said:

I said yesterday that I'm really surprised they chose to roll all this out on this particular chapter release. Their biggest chapter release to date.

The issue is as well, is that a lot of new players joined DBD as soon the chapter got released, but most already dropped the game due to this crappy system.

  • I'm convinced that when it comes back, they will somehow make it even more worse and broken... 🫠

I'm just hoping that it'll be properly tuned and fair, or will just be scrapped altogether.

  • @Volcz said:

They timed this pretty horribly honestly.

IDK why they decided to bring in a brand new banning/penalty system on TOP of the FNAF chapter when a ton of new players typically pick up the game (its heavily discounted as well right now).

How they even released it in this current state, is another question. They never bothered explaining how it works or what constitutes a penalty & that was a big big red flag.

They could've just enabled it in the PTB, but decided not to for whatever reason. It should've been tested first instead of being added straight away on the release day.

I can see what you mean, but at the same time:

As someone who plays killer and has another friend who plays killer/survivor, it would be fun to be able to play with them without being forced to go survivor to do so or being forced to make a custom game to do so. And I mean, as a killer, you wait quite a bit anyway, especially now that the new killer is out.

I do get the point that it is still a prototype and buggy, which is why it should be properly fixed before becoming a new game mode.

I just think the game would benefit from having more game modes. Personally, I would also like to have a way for a killer and survivor friends to queue up, alas I can also see why that isn't really done.

I totally agree with you! I just think that if BHVR resumes working on the modes actively, I could see them become a potential gamemode in the near future. As well, I think if their player count increases too then it will probably speed up the matchmaking!

  • @DeadVision said:

Good in theory, bad in practice.

Tbh, this wasn't even tested properly either. People suspected that it would be active in the Beta build, yet it wasn't. And now it got released on day one of this new chapter, it has a lot of false judgement and unfairness.

  • @arthurrz said:

the devs >needs< to read this.

I hope they will read this. It's an urgent matter that needs to be resolved. Now, this has never happened to me at all. But seeing others suffering from this, makes me feel like it is not fair at all to see people getting falsely reported by the new system. Hence, I'm hoping that this post will get acknowledged and something can be carried out.

It makes me feel empathetic too, as people just want to play survivor. But is unable to due to this crappy system.

  • @coldflame said:

Gen perks are so insanely boring, obviously optimal, and mandatory on low tiers

Just no. Gen perks are fine as they are.

  • Originally, I would've said yes. But there are vast limitations to this:

1V4 Will Have A Less Player Count:

Whenever a new mode is added, majority of player base tend to shift to THAT new mode. Making queues hard to find sometimes when going for 1v4.

    2v8 Killer Queues:

However, playing 2v8 as a Killer isn't always fun as you need to sit in a queue ranging from 10-20mins just to find a singular match. On the other hand, it'll take a few minutes to find one as a survivor.

    Conclusion?

Those are the reasons why BHVR won't add other modes for a 'permanent' time as the queues won't be balanced. And secondly, I'd say the modes they add are still prototypes as they are still ridden with bugs and considering how they're limited time.

  • @joeyspeehole said:

Someone next to me was listening to a streamer discussing complaints about the game penalizing players for dying too quickly whether due to tunneling, being new, or both.

Yeah, the current system is severely bugged and is giving false judgement upon players who don't mean to die incredibly early/quick into the match. I just find it worrying that it wasn't tested AT ALL in PTB. (Public Test Build)

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/448095/opinions-on-the-new-go-next-prevention-system

to me, this is the worst update I’ve seen in 5 years of playing and it’s making me second guess playing for awhile.

    1. Go next is flagging people who get tunneled. The problem is that there is no reliable way to say someone is go nexting vs new/mistake/tunnel. Like I’m sorry I got tunneled out and I’m not a great looper, guess I have a dc penalty. I saw someone post on a dbd fb group that their friend joined cause of fnaf. He is brand new for three dc penalties in a row cause he is still bad. Quit the game for good.
    2. the crow situation is noble, but way too strong. Like if I’m afk it means I’m afk. Not running doing a gen, getting chased off try to find a different gen and now I have two crows cause I didn’t spend 15 seconds in the first gen. Now I’m going to get found asap.

Yeah, BHVR has really screwed up this patch. The false reports, lack of testing etc. has made it even more worse.

  • @TragicSolitude said:

I think that, whatever BHVR does, it shouldn't include a punishment system. If a punishment is still needed, then the prevention isn't working correctly. As is, I've seen players get warnings despite doing nothing wrong. That's not okay. This feels half-baked: "oh, we stop the survivors from doing these different actions, but also we punish survivors in case those preventative measures don't do enough." Say what? No. Make a system that works on its own, not one that kinda sorta works and throws a punishment net over it all for when stuff slips through.

And I'm sure those survivors who wanted to go next but couldn't and instead body blocked me mid-chase and ruined my matches didn't get any warning afterward, because they didn't die fast enough. Meanwhile, my friend got a warning for getting tunneled.

I'm not surprised that there is even a Bloodpoint bonus for the survivor side. Really shows on how less populated it is slowly getting due to this. I just don't think it should've existed in the first place.

The worst part, is that it wasn't activated in PTB. So it wasn't even properly tested by players in the PTB. If they deployed it during the PTB, they could've improved it or just decide to scrap it altogether if many people hates it.

  • Oh dw, I know what you're saying. But the truth is, BHVR won't even fix this at all. And currently, a lot of players already hate this. If they wanted a positive feedback, then it should've been worked on more better rather than giving unfair judgement.

  • @Mr_K said:

I'll say again, there's always room for improvement.

"Always room for improvement" Ah yes, let's keep a very broken and unfair system in the game and don't even bother to fix it. It's just gonna make survivors quit at this point.

  • @Mr_K said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3945097#Comment_3945097

A number of players leaving matches over petty reasons is an issue. Also this not new, before the disconnect penalty these same people would DC without restraint. I continuely run into survivors that give up after one hook. Run to me wanting to get hooked again if another teammate got to them in time. How as a survivor are you expected to play with teammates like that? The harder it is for players to leave early the better. Either they learn how to play with others or not play at all.

But the fact that the system is falsely reporting players, is absurd.

  • They don't indeed. They just add whatever people desperately need, and sometimes it just goes to hell insanely quick since BHVR doesn't properly test it.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3944303#Comment_3944303

So I guess you can make an attempt on first hook as one of the last 2 Survivors, but on second hook missing your skill checks won't do a thing (although I think it might advance the timer a little bit like before so you are sacrificed slightly faster). As it happens, the other Survivor did manage to find the hatch and get out, but the was nothing I could really do to help them by spawning it faster.

It would be nice to still gain the ability to just die on second state if it was just you and an another survivor remaining.

  • @TragicSolitude said:

Yeah, my friend got tunneled and missed one skill check on his second hook (no one went to save him, either), and the game gave him a warning about suspicious behavior. This is an absolute garbage system. You don't punish people for getting tunneled or missing skill checks.

I'm furious even watching that happen to someone else. It's not okay.

I agree with that statement, the new system is appalling!

  • @AmpersandUnderscore said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3944274#Comment_3944274

If it's designed to target excessive hiding at 2 survivors, it's definitely targeting people at every stage of the game. People are getting crows for being interrupted by cleansing thrill (by screaming, which is outside their control) which is absurd.

And just in general, with both the afk and go next systems, there seem to be instances where the killer can force these scenarios to occur. I'm unsure about tombstone, but hard tunneling someone out, for example, does punish the survivor, even if they're playing and trying.

If there's one thing about DbD we should know by now it's that if you give either side the ability to abuse mechanics like this, they will do so. The fact that this isn't accounted for already, especially after ptb feedback, isn't a good sign.

I think it's a bit unfair to players to assume the worst, where the default position is that "you aren't trying" until you successfully complete one of maybe 4 specific actions, and every 30 seconds or so.

I believe that the player count for survivors will probably drop significantly due to all of the false reporting by the system.

  • @Toybasher said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3944283#Comment_3944283

Pretty sure a developer said a while ago (few weeks maybe) you'd be able to die on second hook by the end of the game. I can't remember their exact words but they said the system was primarily to look for players who were throwing at the start of the match.

I do remember playing a match earlier, and it was just me and someone else left. I was hooked and I finally gained the option to take my chances. So I guess it will only work when there's two survivors left?

  • @BorisDDAA said:

Should have just made early game hook suicides impossible instead of this whole contrived system.

I agree. I find it ridiculous that the ability to take a chance at unhooking yourself is removed. Because now you need to keep bringing luck offerings/perks. It would've been better if it was on a time limit instead of being the whole game. So like, you'll be unable to take your attempts within the first five minutes of the match or something like that.

  • @tjt85 said:

I hate that I can't let myself die on second hook to let the hatch spawn for the last Survivor. They're not gonna come save me and if they do, I don't want them to. We are never getting that last gen done and I just want to be in my next game already. I didn't bother hitting any of the skill checks in a Ghost Face match I played because what's the point if it's just for BP anyway? Am I going to get flagged for trying to "go next" for that?

It's kinda funny to spam the unhook animation and watch nothing happen, though. But to be totally honest, this might be the patch that makes me quit Survivor for good. I just know I'm not going to be able to play through 20 Survivor matches without getting frustrated enough to want out of a match. So I'm done with the role outside of doing the odd quest or daily.

I think that they should've kept the 'miss two skill checks and you're dead' mechanic. Because situations like that are uncommon. The worse part, is that your teammate will have to outlast your hook timer and try to avoid being downed as the new mori mechanic has been implemented. There are some games where I just can't be bothered to play since I just feel done. I won't be surprised if the player count for survivor decreases over the next few days.

  • @AssortedSorting said:

My only complaint is that being on hook is still boring, not that I'm the type to want to go next.

Fair enough. I just miss the moments of getting an adrenaline rush of getting the 4% chance.

  • I imagine tombstone piece Myers can give people the go next penalties easily.

@Toybasher Yeah, I think so too. There was an another post that I'm not sure if you have seen, but someone got a penalty for getting tunneled out of the game insanely quick. So I believe that you are correct that it is based on survival time, not behaviour.

  • @coco_shotz said:

I don't find it too different from before aside from being denied the ability to 4% if things are looking dire (and they often do) but from what I'm hearing its a bit too strict in what it considers "intentional" or simply a mistake.

Yeah, I think the system is quite bugged at the current moment. Given how it's giving false flags to survivors sometimes as I've previously mentioned, there was a post where someone used Shoulder The Burden and the system flagged the survivor for it. Pretty absurd if you ask me. I feel like they should allow hooked survivors to take their chances if the team is getting slugged.

  • @AmpersandUnderscore said:

I can kind of understand some things, like only giving credit for partial gen repair and not, say, tapping a totem (which could be used for avoiding crows like locker hopping).

But wow, the system seems to be really tuned to assume that "you're just afk, and until you do one of exactly 4 things you're going to be punished" is pretty extreme.

The not letting go on hook changes seem fine for the most part, but we're kind of back to "Doctor spamming m2 to prevent you from doing anything" would force the system to flag you as AFK with penalties, and that's pretty messed up.

Wow, that really does suck. Their AFK system has gotten a tad too extreme like you said. Still, idk what BHVR was even thinking. Everything they release, is often bugged or smth.

  • @apophis13 So even if I miss one, it is flagging that I'm intentionally trying to go next? That is absurd. Idk what BHVR is even thinking tbh. 😕

What is even more worse, is that this patch is ridden with bugs too!

  • @apophis13 said:

Oh, right, and then it locks you out of matches, but doesn't even tell you unless you try to join. Wow, this is really messed up.

Yeah, that is pretty messed up. It should have a striking system or just be completely reworked/reverted.

  • @apophis13 said:

Well, they say that you "intentionally" die even when you are doing your very best and just miss a skill check. It's really messed up in my opinion. Basically, the game says that if you ever make a mistake that you just died on purpose. It's really punishes less skilled players in a really unfair way.

Oh really? I thought they removed the ability to die on hook after missing two skill checks in a row. I've even seen that Shoulder The Burden is currently bugged, as the system is automatically flagging that someone is trying to 'go next' when really they used their perk. I'm sorry that you had to experience that! ):

I’m on Xbox and the rest of my swf is on pc and PlayStation. We have experienced this bug every single match the directional audio is completely messed up. Sounds sound closer than they are and are coming from the wrong direction.

    Ikr? It's annoying tbh.

  • SUMMARY OF THE ISSUE: Audio is INSANELY bugged. So, I've began playing the new update of DBD, FNAF Chapter. And I've noticed that the audio sounds really... weird. Like I have surround sound on, but I don't? My headphones have always remained the same, same audio settings before the update, but after the update I can hear a generator very close to completion, and I'll think that it's next to me but instead it's on a random hill that's quite far? (Was playing on the Temple Of Purgation map)

It throws me off too, when I'm being chased by Springtrap and I'll think he's behind me, but is actually in front of me.

And when I hear footsteps, I would think there is a survivor next to me, but instead they're quite far from me.

Also, an ANOTHER issue with it, is that when there's an injuried survivor, I can hear their pained grunts and think that they're either below, next to me, or above me, yet they're incredibly far away.

    PLATFORM: PC

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW THE ISSUE OCCURED: Just load into a game, and the audio will be bugged already. (And I've heard it is also after interacting with the cameras and doors.)

  • Glad to know I'm not the only one. Thought I was going crazy lol

But yeah, I'm not too fond of the surround sound for survivors. Feels incredibly off for me.

    Killer side: Dead man's switch

Suvivor side: Dramaturgy, Finnesse, Vigil, Babysitter, Scene partner

Dead man's switch - simple change, revert activation upon hooking, this will prevent it saved every time.

Dramaturgy - remove add ons from items (it can give BNP or syringes for press button), increase exposed from 12s→20s

Finesse - This one is rough, i would just make it work on pallets

    Vigil - 40 %→10 %

    Babysitter - 30s→12s, 25 % speed →15 % speed

Scene partner - cooldown back to 60s, aura reveal removed entirely, it will result being much reliable premonition

Nah they're fine. Most can be countered, and they don't deserve any nerfs or changes.

    Finesse - Injure the survivor

Dead Man's Switch - Don't jump off the gen or just don't touch it.

Dramaturgy - Only counter is exhaustion, but can give your position away and inflict Exposed

Vigil - Literally nothing wrong with it. Just gives the survivor team a minor buff and isn't noticeable as killer. (Unless they got a sprint burst build or smth.)

Babysitter - Useful when your teammate is getting tunneled.

Scene Partner - It just exposes your location. However it gives a nice trade of seeing the killer's aura. A funny perk to run if you fancy screaming every one second as Steve Harrington.

High-ping due to VPN abuse should be looked into, however there needs a system for working out players with high-ping due to bad servers or match making placing them into other regions, otherwise it would be unfair to punish players who are not using VPNs

I agree on that. But knowing BHVR, they'll probably won't implement it. 🫠

It's annoying how the game doesn't have a matchmaking region setting, because if they did then the bad ping would probably be resolved, not fully but enough so it isn't as bad. And their servers do need improving too, because when the FNAF Test Build got released, the servers got overloaded and just crashed. On both PTB and Live version.

So there's been a lot of buzz lately regarding people that want Darth Vader added or people that think Darth Vader could be added

And I am here to say... please don't add him into dead by daylight

Me and other like-minded people do not want Darth Vader in dead by daylight and we would hate it(might even quit the game as a whole if added)

Darth Vader would be too much of an sore thumb in dead by daylight amongst the other killers

Dead by daylight is meant to be a horror themed game and Darth Vader isn't horror based at all

    Can he be scary? Yes

But just Theme-wise abd mechanically-wise it would not make any sense to have him

People like to argue this by saying certain killers aren't scary and yes that might be True but let's be honest dead by daylight lost it's scare factor long time ago. People are rarely actually scared unless your playing a jumpscare build

Me and other people just don't want Darth Vader cause then dead by daylight would slowly just look like Fortnite and lose more of it's identity

The star wars universe does not fit for dead by daylight

We should focus on collaborations that would actually fit and make sense with things like:

    Friday the 13th

    The Purge

    The smiling

    The shining

    Thankskilling(I think that's correct)

    Etc

Please do not start adding out of character collaborations BVHR

I love dead by daylight and I would hate it to be ruined by characters that simply do not fit dead by daylight

Please genuinely consider this and do not add Darth Vader or any other out of character collaborations

Lets stick to collaborations that are the core of horror and are fitting for the realm of dead by daylight

    Thanks for reading

DBD is supposed to be a horror game, is it not? It would be kind of funny to get chased by Darth Vader, but it doesn't even suit the horror theme like you've mentioned. Knowing BHVR, they'll probably add it to get more money as people may rush to buy him only to then have them nerfed after a week or two.

    Friday the 13th

    The Purge

    The smiling

    The shining

    Thankskilling(I think that's correct)

I agree that those should be added. It would add more horror elements.

  • I agree. I think there should be some sort of penalty granted for constant high pings. I went against a bunch of killers who had 150-200+ ping and their hits landed when it shouldn't have. Unfortunately, this won't be prioritized as BHVR needs to address other issues. But this definitely needs to be sorted out.

That'd be really helpful tbh. Sometimes the game would just unexpectedly crash mid-game and I would get a matchmake ban for it. Hopefully it can be like Call Of Duty, so when your game crashes or internet drops, it would give the option to rejoin that current match that you was just in.

I just went up against my first full bot lobby and I was not impressed, it was literally the most boring match I have ever played in this game. You could tell from the start they where bots and could read them with ease. I would rather wait 10 minutes to get a real game than play this crap!

FYI, I checked after the game and they where all last online 6 months ago!!

I'm starting to hate this game!

You sure they might've not been in Offline Mode? Because some people will just prefer having Offline Mode on and will just forget to turn it back on.

Maybe you was against bad players?
