but killers consistently walk across the map to hook you without you wiggling off so OP’s point still stands.
I went into a match the other day trying to do the ‘sabotage 12 hooks challenge’ so took a sabo build - Saboteur, toolbox with add ons and breakdown and the petrified oak offering.
I saboed two hooks and the killer was still able to hook the survivor with no issue at all. All of that should have some sort of impact but it just didn’t.
but killers consistently walk across the map to hook you without you wiggling off so OP’s point still stands.
do they, tho? By virtue of maps being filled with geometry, and killers being able to carry survivors for 58.88 meters by default at most, that's simply impossible. Haddonfield not included, but I think it's pretty unanimously agreed that Haddonfield is too small.

You miss my point,I know you are intelligent to understand that wiggle is a good addition my issue is with the hook density.
At almost every point in the map the killer as 3 hook options even when they are at the edge of the map.
I mean, you do realise that the moment hooking becomes inconsistent, killers will just stop trying and just slug? You've probably never experienced the infamous RPD library third floor, which made survivors unhookable, especially in combination with Boil Over.

How do you take Dark Devotion into 2v8?!
I was quite lucky. Did this one recently and only took an hour or two. Got it against a Pyramid Head on one of the MacMillans maps. Definitely take something like Bond so you can see where survivors are on gens. Maybe Prove Thyself and/or a Commudious for extra speed. You only need to be on the gen when it's completed. Think I sprint burst and arrived on the last gen with half a second to spare!
Ngl, I forgot you had to bring Dark Sense.
Wild.

UPDATE: I FINALLY did the no hook spine chill challenge. Now its time for the one I fear the most. 4 gens in a single match. Once I do that, every challenge will be done
Try for it in 2v8 while you still can.
-
Most of these are stretches of various lengths.
A perk not working out for you does not automatically make it favour the killer. That's silly.
-
Wiggling exists because it ensures that the killer can't just take you across the map to hook you. It's not supposed to be a consistent way to get off.
-
Note the more a killer hits you the more BP they get, as a survivor you don't get more BP by taking more hits. So who do these perks favour?
By that logic, the obsession dying is beneficial to the survivors, since it grants 1k BP.
-
Cool.
Did you know that with birds everything comes out the same end?
Cool. Cool cool cool.

Currently, I’m 100%’ing RE Village. My other ‘main’ game currently is The Outlast Trials.
I’m also (not) patiently awaiting the newest Professor Layton.

Imagine if Off the Record also blocked the unhook notification. 🤔
I mean, your status in the HUD would still change, so that wouldn’t do much if the killer is just paying attention.

I cannot imagine that a single person in the entire history of DBD has said "oh wow, Swamp, my favourite map!"
Never happened. Ever.
The map is just not okay.
They need to either rework it, since like you said, they promised it, or they need to killswitch the realm. -

Also true, but that would also mean that 1 side did not optimize their gameplay. Which would still be a skill issue on that end.
If survivors somehow optimized their games on average to a point where 10 extra seconds on smaller maps allows them to win, because otherwise they would lose more often, then that means killers have not been optimizing their games in the meantime. Arguably because they have been able to rely on something they shouldnt have been able to rely on that consistently.
This change simply means killers have to rethink how to play the game. Find ways to create deadzones early on in generator dense zones, find ways to zone survivors in directions you want them to zone or force them to tank a hit and go where they want for a reduced total chasetime. Hook people strategically rather than just the nearest hook (spending those 5 extra seconds to get them in the center of your gen-dense area can often mean forced hooktrades or even a free hookstate because you can prevent unhooks consistently while keeping an eye on your gens). It's rare that I see those strategies employed these days, and they almost always happen by accident, while back in the day, it was pretty much a guaranteed early kill without needing to tunnel at all since there would always be 1 person on the hook. This change simply means killers have to rethink how to play the game.
Precisely my point. This is ostensibly required to stay competitive. It requires developing a whole different mindset and, crucially, time investment, which a not-insignificant portion of players are just not willing to do. Understandably so, I might add. This is supposed to be a hobby, not a secondary job.
DbD, as simple as it may seem, is just a difficult game. And it keeps getting more difficult as players improve. The only thing the devs can do here is disrupt the optimised strategies, but that's also guaranteed to result in backlash.
-
While I partially agree, I think it's also worth pointing out that players have also optimised their play more and more. The skilllevel that sufficed when Pyramid Head released is simply lower than the skilllevel required now.
Another, more concrete example. Years ago, people still did totems. Nowadays, you'll get flamed for even starting one if there's no hex in play.

Have you tried contacting Support?
Maybe a magpie took ‘em.

I don’t even think that balance should be the end goal to begin with.
A perfectly balanced game is dull as all get out.

Killer bots in custom games would help a lot, I think.

thank you!
-
I’m kinda surprised they haven’t appeared in custom games yet.
I think they already exist for when a killer dc’s in 2v8, or at least bots for the available killers. Maybe they want to have bots ready for all killers? Idk

What does 'proper' mean? AFAIK, DbD is in a fairly unique position due to its asymmetry, so I'm really not sure what you mean with 'Proper MMR Rating system meant for a 1V4'.

Yes. Blood Moon replaced it. This got 'confirmed' roughly a year ago by now. Finding the exact place and time this was said is going to be difficult, though.

I'd be weird if it was just the RE characters, so I imagine all this is coming on top of what was already there in the previous iteration.
RPD might have a boosted appearance, though.

Except we have confirmation it won't be force and this was to assert that many survivors were being massive babies
Dunno man, calling people reacting to the only information we had at the time “massive babies” doesn’t seem entirely fair.

A large portion of the player base is neurodivergent and the developers still aren’t sure how to deal with … that.
Could you elaborate? I’m really not sure what you mean with this.
-
Same happened with GF’s theme. It went back and forth on a few versions, before it settled on the version he’s got now.
-
Wholly agree!
-
The killer would be able to shift a little every now and then to continue what they’re doing. Your suggestion would only fix AFK strats.
If they removed survivors’ collision when they have idle crows, you can kill multiple flies with one stone, as it also removes instances of survivors blocking other survivors.
-
Partially joking, but a shrike. They’re a shockingly good fit.
A distant relative of crows and jays, they have a unique habit across all of the animal kingdom.
They impale their live prey onto spikes, to eat later.

'This game is DOA'? Dead on arrival?
Because I'm pretty sure it 'arrived' almost 9 years ago now, and it's pretty far from dead to this day.
Unless there's a separate meaning for that acronym I'm unaware of.
Ok, so this what I thought it meant as well.
But apparently it refers to instances of a patient or victim already being deceased before any help can get to them, or if they died in the ambulance on their way to the hospital. It doesn’t necessarily refer to stillborns.
So, like, I’m still not sure if it applies, but y’know.
-
4 releases has proven to be too many, and 2 is likely to result in long spans of content drought, which a live-service game really has to avoid.
So, 3 releases a year is what I'd land on, yeah.

The anhinga, or ‘snake bird’. A juvenile. Apparently it lacks nostrils, so it has to breath through the mouth.

No, the game is made like that, they said it's intentional that some killer powers don't work in places with high elevations, like Victor's pounce. But you can also avoid this by just standing to the side of the survivor or going to the top of the stairs.
Is it intentional? Huh. Well then I stand corrected.

Strictly speaking, yes, you're correct.
But I'd recommend not holding your breath if you were to report them.

I think that section of the rules mostly applies to thing that would completely break the game. Like if you somehow found a way to go out of bounds.
