  • Yay, this again.

At least the 999th of these is better than another us vs them.

Actually not really, this one actually kinda believes what they are saying.

This stupid game will never die. As long as BHVR keeps acquiring liscenes it will never lose enough players to be meaningful.

  • I've said this in every single "should we killswitch this annoying thing" post.

    THE KILLSWITCH IS FOR BUGS!

NOT FOR THINGS THAT ARE 'UNBALANCED'

    Please stop posting these :/

  • The survivors were non-stop screaming, at least 2x the amount of the MFT complaints.

Thats how BHVR balances, whoever whines the most

  • You've been bumping this for half a year, they aren't going to respond.

  • Relax dude, I get you can't harrass killers with your locker exploit, and you're down to 6 absurdly broken maps, but you'll get over it!

Even though haddonfield doesn't have an infinite anymore doesn't mean you don't have Garden of Joy with an almost infinite!

Also I get it, aura perks counter your attempts to hold the game hostage via setalth, but try 'distortion', its a Jeff perk.

  • I wouldn't even if they gave extra BP.

When it was originally discovered yes it did. You could get a 4k every game all you had to do was have survivors on the side of the building by the front gen. I know I've done it in custom games and it's not hard to do. Devs said they patched it but the bug is still there if you know how to do it.

    Is this bait?

I've played Wesker for over 2000 hours, and this bug has been usable around 10 times. You could never get a 4K with it. If you are that experienced with it, explain how you do said exploit.

Wesker getting out of the map with survivors on RPD isn't gamebreaking?

As for 3 gen sally I had 4 in a row last week. It was not fun.

Well it doesn't hold the game hostage in any way or give him a competitive advantage so no it is not.

Also getting 4 Skull Merchants in a row is almost impossible(~.001%) chance if we pretended her pickrate was 10%, which it is less than. So at least try to make a logical complaint.

Holding the game hostage for either side isn't fun that's the point. One side always ends up on the bad side of it and I agree it needs adressing but my point is there are plenty of issues with killers which remain ignored. Survivors got an exploit and the community went mad devs instantly jumped on it which shows their priorities.

Killers have no gamebreaking exploits. As peantis explained Skull Merchant is not an exploit, it is just a poorly designed killer. Although she can "hold the game hostage", this is very rare. The locker glitch was every game...

And 3 gen sally skull merchant isn't a problem? Holding games hostage for an hour slugging and refusing to hook?

I'm not even going to argue with this much of a survivor main.

  • @antag0nisticw0mble said:

Wesker can still get survivors out of the map if the get the timing right on RPD and leave them slugged out there.

    Xeno can block unhooks.

Demo can jump into tress and abuse high objects for distance.

Oh yea and wesker still pulls you back to his side of the pallet/window. The thing that was supposed to be fixed. But survivors have a bug. Nope nope we have to kill it right away. Killer community loses it's mind.

Except all of these glitches let you die in 2-4 minutes...

The locker glitch can hold the game hostage for an hour.

The survivor mains have lost their mind...

  • If for some reason DC penatlies were removed from internet DCs, whats stopping someone from just clicking 'disconnect' on their internet?

Also I get your internet went out once, but it wouldn't really be a problem if you didn't rage quit 4 times earlier 😉

then remove it out of rotation like they did with haddonfield

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3540012#Comment_3540012

i worded it wrong, sorry. but i meant like the godly loops. like in jungle gyms how there were pallets on both sides of the jungle gym, and then pallets right near that loop, etc.

with MFT the main building loop literally becomes an infinite, and MFT is the most popular perk for survivors right now too.

Do you understand what a BUG is?

It is something that is not intented by the developers. Balance cannot be bugged.

Skull Merchant is not bugged, she just has horrible implemenatation.

Garden of Joy is not bugged, it just has bad implementation.

The locker glitch was a bug.

Also, with MFT it does not become an infinite. It just takes 5-10 minutes to catch someone as an m1 killer...

So no, it will not be killswitched.

  • The killswitch is only for bugs...

Hi y’all, I was just wondering, is there anyway to slow down bot op or speed, I’m trying to learn how to manorial a new killer before I go out into a live game and these bots are fast, I mean really fast lol… and please no harsh remarks, I’m just trying to practice, but these bots work better than some real players! 🤭

The bots are better than some real players, but as you practice more and more, the bots will become very easy to beat.

If you are having trouble try giving them handicap perks like No mither, or oddly, Boon: Circle of Healing, as they spend a lot of time repeatedly setting it up.

Although there is no movement speed adjustment setting, there shouldn't be. Learning how to beat them isn't that hard, and being able to turn it down would make a lot of people who learned via them unable to play against real players without un-doing a lot of training.

  • I don't think being able to hold a game hostage for an hour is balanced, but hey, thats just an opinion.

Its very healthy for the game when players have to sit in one game for that long...

I've even got messages from one of my SM playing 'friends' about them getting messages about them making new players quit!

  • Dwight would probably be funny.

He could uh, throw lockers as a weapon?

As long as its not mikela.

  • DBDs hitboxes have always been very 'enjoyable'. Sometimes killers hitting you around corners that they fail on every other time(not lag). And sometimes specific killer powers being wonky. I.e. Wesker going straight though survivors. Or even:

    image.png

BHVR will probably never fix this, or it will take 4+ more years.

  • ... ok?

That's why I said the devs would have to average out player's map offerings. Instead of trying to guess which map offerings they should give each player based only on what they currently have in their inventory would be a nightmare. Leaving the offering count the same would be a nightmare for players who have stockpiled.

Averaging it would still hurt the stockpiles, but would not require extreme personalized efforts.

The survivors would use that as an excuse. Screaming and whining has gotten every single perk or killer they don't like nerfed, and screaming almost prevented DH from getting nerfed. Regardless of map offering equalization, they would ######### and moan as they would lose one of their harrassment tools.

  • @Nos37 said:

I bet OP is just "asking for a friend." It probably has nothing to do with finding out which map offering is the best one to stockpile for easy matches...

There are enough maps/realms now to justify the devs changing the way map offerings work. Map offerings should PREVENT the lobby from being sent to a specific realm instead of the current function.

SWF would no longer be able to make it (even more) miserable for killers, and stealth killers / terror radius killers can stop using map offerings to get small/indoor maps for an easy win.

The only other thing the devs need to do when they implement this system is to average out all the players map offerings. (Add up the total number of map offerings in each player's posession and divide it out evenly amongst all the different possible map offerings.) This is fair and necessary since survivors will have stockpiled so many Garden of Joy / Farm offerings and those offerings would no longer guarantee those maps (they would do the opposite, in fact).

Actually, I already know which map is the most survivor sided, this is just a question for the community.

I have over 200 Garden of Joy and 150 Badham offerings stocked up on Jill, and almost 300 Midwich offerings on Wesker ATM(I've also used 125+ of them).

I agree that map offerings should prevent a realm from appearing, the only thing that would maybe be bad is less scrathed mirror myers(?). Although those are so rare it doesn't really matter.

I almost guarentee that the survivor mains would be screaming at the top of their lungs about how it is "unfair" to change something they've stocked up on.

I may even have to stock Lery's offerings on Wesker if this happens!

  • @Nirgendwohin said:

are the killrates different on this map?

    It sure feels like it.

When I'm playing survivor its actually hard to lose on garden of joy. The mass amount of strong pallets + an almost infinite main building makes it very easy.

As killer I almost always have to sweat and play as hard as possible, ensuring neither side actually has any fun.

  • As a killer main, I would kind of actually prefer if they hid prestige. This would reduce the amount of lobby doding by a large amount.

I do not care if I am playing against a 4-Man P1 SWF or a 4-Man P100 SWF. It doesn't really effect anything. Prestige mostly means hours, I have played against many P100s that die faster than your average solo q teamate.

Hiding prestige could actually help your problem, as MMR will 'probavly' work better.

Perhaps it should only be available with Leatherface and occur in his lair?

But perhaps a random non-chosen survivor should be killed in an opening cutscene if leatherface is chosen?

  • Uh... ok... I guess...

    Leaves as quickly as possible*

  • My opinions on the perks:

Chemical Trap: B/C-tier perk, not all that useful, but kinda synergizes with blast mine +flashbang due to the activation requirements.

Lightfooted: C/D-tier perk, this perk is really really terrible. Listening to footsteps rarely happens, and it will only be used in meme builds where the survivor attempts to dissapear mid chase.

Lucky Star: Solid S-tier perk. This is 1000% Ripleys best perk...

In all seriousness, F-tier perk. Probably worse than red herring. This perk has no actual use, not in a meme build, not in a troll your teamates build, nothing.

So no, do not buy Ripley unless you are looking to play as her.

  • Dull Merchant.

Nothing is more engaging than having to sit in a single game for 50+ minutes.

  • @Humblefarmer said:

This game is so unbalanced its more of a one sided slug fest with the killer having all the tools to succeed, they can spam skills and move so much faster and to top it off their Debuffs/killer perks need to be nerfed. And Dunking on the survivors because they dont have much for Item selection. Why is it that the developers are not adding new items like a bat for instance. The ultimate game of cat where you are down in 2 hits or 1 depending on the killer perk.

I understand why games like friday the 13 and texas chainsaw are leagues ahead of DBD. At least the survivors can fight back and not just have a flashlight. I also dont like the Bloodweb system. It should be more of a combination of all the items and not individual. If I could customize my priority buy in the web when i only want specific items, that would be a good quality of life improvement. Also their should be a item combine function that helps me reroll for a better item or stack all the low tier items for a better item.

riddle me this... why does a cop like detective tapp not have a gun with at least a few rounds in it. sure the Gun cant kill the Killer but it should at least stun or slow them down. also why are all the survivors at the same base speed and the same hp. It gets old just doing generators and getting hucked all the time. this game hasnt changed all that much since it came out and I dont see a revamp anytime soon. Just a Pay to win with some cloths to dress up.

My last complaint is the lack of Totem finder perks in the game. Ever Item can be found Chests generators exit gates and the hatch can be found but not the totems. Just keep in mind that normal people also play the game and not just the top 5 percent of streamers that buy everything and make videos to make their own profits.

    Cool story bro

This is such a killer-based game making it trash for the survivors. I used to love playing this game, but the killers will guard and tunnel. What is the point of playing the game if you have to tunnel and watch the hook. I think the hook should fall once a survivor is saved for a certain amount of time or push the killer away from the hook, so it at least gives the survivors a shot at getting out. Almost all the killers are like this I played for a while tonight and each killer I had tunneled and guarded the hook.

    Guarding hook is called "camping"

And if you want the hooks to fall down after you become unhooked, run trolldownbreakdown, just be prepared to be slugged... a lot.

Alwo BHVR has made attempts to prevent camping. They removed unhook grabs. They will soon make it so survivors can self-unhook if the killer stays near for too long.

  • My bell was saying "6" for a long time.

It eventually dissapeared, but it was very annoying when it was there.

  • It was probably just bad luck, but getting bled out 3 times in the past 2 nights by killers with knock out is very boring.

I did crawl into the open, but the average solo q teamates did not care to get out/off of their lockers/chests/totems.

  • Right when you said that camping, tunneling, and slugging are cheating I stopped reading your post. Please play the other side before making suggestions on how to change it.

We need to have a feature that spawns more generators if they are finished too quickly, as genrushing is 100% cheating.

  • It seems like a good perk for teaching new players how to hit skillchecks. Maybe showing the timer for the skillcheck to appear would help?

I am not sure if it should be a perk though, as it would be completely worthless/detrimental for non-new players. Maybe a setting?

  • Heh... 8 minutes.

Many of my non-high-tier killer games enter the end in under 5 minutes. I've had multiple SWFs with 4 MFT/DH + hardcore W key. Those are very fun to play against.

  • If you run Buckle up with FTP it becomes absurdly overpowered. Try it.

It gives endurance to BOTH survivors for 10 seconds...

  • @v4vendetta0923 said:

When all generators are powered, an escape theme should play, but when the exit gates open and endgame collapse begins, the escape music should intensify even more to the point where it’s like a “GET THE HELL OUT WHILE YOU STILL CAN FAST!” Soundtrack

In the endgame colapse the gameplay loop is mostly "run at hook, trade hooks until the killer ###### up" and "T-bag as much as possible". If the EGC was made more intense, than sure.

  • If we get survivor perk prevention, than sure.

If you are going to make me sit in a longer queue just because I want to play the killer I want to, then you should have to as well. Lets try to keep matchmaking balanced.

    How about... no

There are many other blatantly overpowered perks on both sides, mentioning STBFL is like saying OTR needs a nerf. They are both strong perks, but don't need nerfs.

  • You left out the "increase the penalty" choice that 50+% would choose.

  • You want a lightborn nerf...

I'm sorry you can't harrass new killers with your flashlights.

Tools that reduce abuse of new players are 100% unhealthy for the game.

It's literally fine. The list of killers adversely affected by it is very short.

    "Adversely short"

Ok, here are the killers it hurts massively. When survivors have MFT:

Myers: Almost unable to catch anyone unless in tier 3

Doctor: Charging your shock makes you slower than survivors. Nothing else must be said.

    Freddy: He's an m1 killer.

Pig: She is also an m1 killer

Deathslinger: His 4.4 movement speed makes hitting shots in loops even harder.

Dredge: Oddly enough, he is heavily impacted due to the benefit when a survivor W-keys. Keep in mind that it takes 20% longer when someone just straight W's.

There are many other killers that aren't killed by it, such as GF, but they are still massively impacted.

The real issue with MFT is that impacts low-tier killers the most. It doesn't impact nurse/blight and barley impacts most A-tier killers.

  • I will describe what "genrushing" is most commonly described as when salt is not involved.

Survivors are ignoring all other objectives, including killer specific in a desperation to finish all generators as quickly as possible. Multiple survivors also running builds that contain toolboxes+BNPs and Hyperfocus+Stake out type perks is also "genrushing", as long as they sit on the generators.

If survivors spray to clear Wesker's uroboros, they are not genrushing.

Survivors favoring an unhook over finishing a generator is NOT genrushing.

A build is not required to be "genrishing", but without a genrush build the term is very narrow.

  • @MikeStev said:

many killers say garden of joy is one of their favorite maps.

    Please stop.

    My brain hurts from this.

  • As a killer main, I don't really understand why killers even facecamp as its extermely boring. The only time I tunnel is when someone is dying to be chased, i.e. BT bodyblocking or 3 gens pop in under 60-70 seconds(which is very rare).

I believe that most killers tunnel at 4-5 gens due to either a desperation to ensure a win without any resistance, or they just enjoy making the other side suffer. Its actually kind of sad...

Killers who facecamp at 5 gens cannot be helped...

Killer choice vs survivor perk is not same thing. not on equal ground. I do think a lot of killers on here are blaming MFT for their poor play, though. I mean, its only 3%. "Get good" :)

    Or, heres a hot take.

    Play killer for once.

Try doctor and when you play against a MFT team, come back and tell us how it went.
