This time, and only this time...I can see why.
-
Average Trickster match.
In all seriousness though, Solo Queue was very unlucky this time. Most of my Survivor experience from 2018 until leaving the Fog was Solo Q, and I was thought people made it look worse than it really was.
But now...
Now it seems to have gotten really bad, and it is easy to see why.

Noooooooo
I didn't expect you to say something negative like this :(
DBD no longer has anything that I really enjoy.
Doesn't really matter to me whether this game lives or dies.

Cheater.

I think this is alright. Again, this is a reason to use White Wards or Black Wards.
And it applies to Survivor anyway, even before, since they have so much ######### in their Bloodweb that it is hard to get the things you actually want. For Killers this means that there is not one guaranteed Alchemists Ring (at least) in each Bloodweb.
Why not make it easier for both to hoard their add-ons?
Seems like a FAR better option.

Thana isn’t really overused. It’s almost exclusively used by Legion players and Legion is being played a lot.
Pain Resonance, yeah its strong, but idk what the Devs can do. It’s convent and Killers like it but numerically it’s pretty balanced in the context of perks like Pop, Surge, Eruption, Call of Brine and Overcharge. 15% isn’t that high and numbers nerfs might not work because its so convenient to use
It is not like they really care.
If a perk reaches "over performing" levels, they will nerf it, regardless if the perk will or won't be rendered useless by said change.

Even for those that did grind its increased because there's just a bunch of junk rather than valuable items. If you want something worthwhile you end up having to waste more time doing webs that mostly off nothing.
Yeah, there is that too.
-
Self-Care is probably the one perk that has suffered the most, even though it was in a good spot for most of its existence.
-
The grind was only reduced for those who had already grinded. They removed the BP gains from BBQ and WGLF (which is just dumb) and made prestige almost mandatory, when it should have stayed optional.
Easier to get perks? Sure, if you had planned for that before the update dropped. Now it is far more difficult to get items, add-ons, offerings...
And those things are needed.
-
-
Extra BP and faster gens.
Why wouldn't people use it?
-
So do I.
I like to say that "if it has old, GeneralV is sold".
There are a few exceptions to this rule, obviously.
But Hatch isn't one of them.

More than anyone ever will.
I need him back.

Billy too. Oh lord, has BHVR tanked some absolutely fantastic killers.
If there is one thing BHVR knows, is how to destroy something we love.
Killers, maps, perks, animations...take your pick. In the end, everything turns to trash.
I hope Nurse manages to escape this fate.

She really can't. And I keep thinking to myself, "Remember Freddy, remember Wraith, remember Deathslinger and just keep at it."
I sincerely hope she doesn't get the Freddy-Billy treatment. No one deserves that.

Poor Sally, can't take a break these days :(
-
Unlikely that it is the end.
But, if it is, then the game perished.
As simple as it can be.

Trickster, Ghostface and Blight.

I started playing in January 2019 and GOOD LORD it sucked being killer!
Don't agree with that, tbh, but hey to each their own!
We all have our beliefs :)

Overall positive so far! I am really enjoying the perks they changed up.
My only small issues from the survivor side is gen speeds. It feels off BUT maybe its a ‘need to get use to it thing’.
From killer side its a lot more chill for me.
Good to know!

what do you mean????gens arent going to do themselves, so why are people self caring?? coh is still broken imo.. what are peoples logic
Perhaps they were still trying to get some use out of it...
They will soon understand that Self-Care is, unfortunately, not worth it anymore.

Like, they are devastating or useless in most cases, too swingy and also hurting newer players much more than experienced players.
A perk with sole purpose of bullying the weak is not a good design imo.
Fair enough.

Well, I gave it a try. Never used DH, so can`t talk about that one.
Spine Chill is a LOT less useful - which means the game is better for stealth killers, which sucks.
Iron Will? Never using it again. It is completely useless now. Seriously. You`re loudly moaning all the time. It`s pathetic.
Good thing is I had kind of an addiction to this game. Thanks BHVR for making me NOT want to play it anymore.
We all have our reasons to leave.

I don't blame them. It is a sad situation.

Playing killer is actually fun and rewarding now. Dead hard is not an oppressive "nuh uh" button that takes the reward of downing a survivor who makes a mistake away from you. I thought it would be fun to experiment with brutal strength with the new "fast breaks" and when I baited a drop it lead to such fast hits and shorter pallet loops. I made good choices and played well and I got a landslide victory. Killer finally feels like "the power role" which in a 1 v 4, it should. When I'm a survivor I now have to treat adept killers with some respect. I have tried new perks out and have had a lot of fun doing so. I LOVE the state of the game right now and i'm so happy to finally see a healthy game state.
I am happy for ya, mate :)
Being able to enjoy DBD is an amazing feeling, isn't it?
I remember when I did. When this game provided me with a level of enjoyment that no other game could. Hopefully you will have as much fun as I did back in the day.
Good game!

Uh... alcohol addiction can kill people if they are severely addicted and they stop drinking. That is a very bad/tasteless analogy. It's actually more offensive than what previously offended you. Alcohol kills. Video games don't kill people... yet.
Exactly.

Yeah I usually play several games as survivor and then play several games as killer and if I'm having fun I usually keep switching back and forth. Tonight I played a few games as survivor and then played other games instead. The funnest thing that I did on dbd tonight was spend bp's on various bloodwebs. The game felt more hollow and about blood points in some way. Everything felt predictable. Hopefully it's just me.
I am afraid it isn't just you. There has been some negative feedback around.

Not that I'm comparing playing a video game to alcoholism, but, do you think it's as easy for an alcoholic to stop drinking as to "just put down the bottle?" It only takes one simple hand movement. My point is that saying it's "just one click" is really ignorant.
An alcoholic has an addiction, which is something that can potentially require actual treatment.
I doubt anyone has that same level of addiction towards DBD, to the point where you CANNOT stop playing.
-
@KSzerker said:
Well they buffed camping and tunneling while nerfing repairing and healing. All around terrible update that will probably kill the game.
It's clear what the devs think is fun (sitting on gens) is not what the playerbase thinks is fun (chases).
I honestly don't think this update, as big as it was, is enough to kill the game.
-
@Gary_Coleman said:

I don't think you understand my man, saying "just stop playing" is like telling a sad person "just don't be sad bro." I wish it were just as easy as "just stop playing."
A sad person can be sad for a great variety of complex reasons.
Leaving the game takes one click. If it is no longer fun for you, then it is not worth staying.

Impossible to say who plays what, and everyone has vastly differing experiences depending on their region, skill bracket, or even just time of day. There's next to no balance in this game - MMR is a joke even in a vanilla lobby, but it doesn't take SWF or items or addons or offerings into consideration and every game is just wildly in one side's favor or the other. That's the way it's been for 6 years and it doesn't seem like it'll change.
I wish BHVR would just permaban me in-game so I would never again be tempted to play this miserable game.
If you are not enjoying the game, just leave. It is not hard.
DBD was no longer the same game I fell in love with back in 2018, so I left. Only played it today because I wanted to see what the commotion was about.
Trust me, if you are not having fun...leave.

The "numerous people" who feel killers are strong, wouldn't happen to be survivor mains, would they?
I don't think so.
Most likely both-siders, as most Forum members are.

@impossibleodds said:
Feels very strange that the only decent regression perks - Call of Brine, Eruption, and Pain Res - are all locked on very recent killers, two of which are licensed and not available with shards. Feels even worse that two out of the three require you to physically go and kick the gen, something most killers don't have the time for.
Even if Overcharge hadn't been nerfed on the PTR, it too would've been a kick perk. Pain Res still hits for the same amount but it's hard to say if it's still worth it (and that's if you even have the perk in the first place).
Hard to say but after five matches as killer I'm feeling very weak. The extra 10 seconds on generators does not feel worth losing Ruin and Pop.
Hmmm, that is an unusual point.
Very few people have deemed killers "weak" after this update.

As a solo queue, it's been honestly some of the worst experience I've ever had playing this game.
Yeah, I was afraid this could happen.
Solo Queue wasn't lucky this time and while some people seem to be blowing it out of proportion, the situation doesn't seem to be that good, either.

I'm joking.
I DO want to see if it's harder to loop Killers, as that's what I mostly did, and I want to see if things are as hard as people say. I also DO think that some people might be blowing it out of proportion. I honestly don't know, though, and have thought about checking it out.
Good.

Also an old player just new here I personally love the update I just wish they did some changes on the other perks that are bad like deer stalker or this is not happening.
The update is great except for a few of the perk nerfs that made them useless like the self-care and ruin nerf I hope they get new effects no be more in line with the current perks. Because yeah they nerfed good perks that could/has been problematic but left them to be useless and under used like the perks they buffed
Oh, a fellow old player? Well, good to meet ya, friend!
I understand your points here and, looking exclusively at those new changes, I would say I agree.
@Bupkiss said:
Are there any survivor mains who think the game is in a better place? I only play survivor and have been dreading this update. No idea why they nerfed DH when they never got it to work correctly anyways. DH worked correctly maybe 20-30% of the time, the rest of the time it was a free down for the killer.
DH definitely required a nerf.
@StibbityStabbity said:
I've been very tempted to reinstall the game and see if I can still bully Killers into DCing. With all the doom and gloom going around, I kinda want to see if it's just cry babies crying like babies or if it's actually that much harder now.
With that attitude, I hope you don't reinstall.

Most of the changes are good. But the 90 second gens+buffed slowdowns feel dreadful on the survivor side. The pacing is so bad.

I only did 1 match of solo survivor. That's nothing to go off of but here's what I noticed. Clown's map, killer was Nemmy, decked out perks, everyone escaped. The one Steve who was getting downed really quick and nearly tunneled out of the game had 2200 hours of playtime. Just how? How do you play that much and suck so bad? Even if you play killer for all that time you would know the tricks of the trade because you deal with them on a regular basis.
One of the worst DBD players I have ever seen was a legit Legacy Dwight.

lol, I know. They talk about meta, yet it's bad enough on Switch to have a single person running Boil Over, Flip-Flop, Unbreakable, and whatever that other perk was. Takes decent time to down the surv., then they just boil over, or the flashlights help them if it's a clicky SWF squad (usually I'd run lightborn when I see a couple flashlights, but they switch last moment, so)
If there is one thing we learned about BHVR, is that you can never expect good things, no matter how promising they are.

@ThanosPAWG said:
Really liking the new update, with the new progression update I currently have every teachable on both survivor and killer, the AoT skins are pretty cool and once I have the money I'm buying Kenny, and the new meta shake up is definitely going to change how I play.
That is good.
Life in this game is easier when the changes align with what you want.
