you're not really demanding for your own main killer. Don't you agree he needs more than just a crazy laugh? He needs some major overhaul of his shock ability if anything.

Aye, you're correct, I'm not demanding anything for my main. Doc is my boi and I love him to death.

But here's the thing - I know him so well that I know that in the hands of a good player, he's pretty damn good even at the red ranks (he's not S tier like Nurse or Spirit, more like A tier). If you do anything to boost him, you run the danger of causing him to be OP.

If you think he's only got the shock in his toolkit though, you're sorely mistaken. He's got some of the best locating powers in the game as well as an addin that gives him some real mind-game potential.

  • I'll tell you the same thing my dad told me when I was a youngin'

People bully you to get a reaction to you. When you stop reacting, they get bored and leave.

    He was right.

The way you stop the trolls is to stop feeding them. So stop feeding the damn trolls already.

until you get hit with Borrowed Time and Decisive in the same chase

Borrowed Time is no big deal, they waste time mending, so that's a win in my book

I generally don't pick up people who were recently unhooked as slugging is a great way to buy time as necessary anyway.

Considering they nerfed Nurse base power after promising only to change the add-ons, I wouldn't be so sure.

Doc isn't nearly the same tier as the nurse.

If they want to tone down how annoying he is, the most likely thing they'll hit is his static field in treatment mode because it's influence has the biggest impact on the game - especially when the doc is running a Terror Radius/Anti-skillcheck build.

Personally, I just hope they do a little QOL where hiding survivors in Tier 3 near the doc giggle maniacally to themselves. That would make my day.

  • I'll say the same thing I said before....

You can either leave your teammates to keep working on gens for 32 seconds, or you can make sure both of you are not doing a gen for 16 seconds. Either way, the manpower loss on gens is the same.

So to me, it's an even trade and a matter of preference.

(wait, you said 24 seconds for self care? So basically your saying it's better to heal yourself because if a teammate heals you it's 32 seconds of manpower loss on a gen?)

  • The shock is used a lot as it's his only tool to stop a window vault or pallet drop. I doubt that itself is going to be changed much.

The one thing we know that's going to happen is that his addins are going to be given a working over as they now have established a standard as to how many addins each killer should get and Doc does NOT follow that standard.

Anything beyond that is just speculation.

  • Eh, downing the person who was just rescued is standard operating procedure for me.

Denying the safe unhook score and making them lose benevolance is the best tool we have for training people to do safe unhooks.

  • Fair? No. But I like that they exist because they keep fear in the game

As I've said repeatedly - few people had a problem with them back in the original bloodweb because they showed up so seldom.

    We need that rarity back.

wait people have mori lists damn people are sad

Not all Mori lists are for the same reasons.

I used to keep one for Sandbaggers but decided it wasn't worth the effort and let it go.

TheEntityLeftHand, a roleplay streamer, keeps a Blacklist of Offenders for those who don't live up to his ideals of how a survivor should act as part of his "Character". Those of us in his "Court" enjoy these bloodhunts for offenders as the best part of his show. Does that make us sad too?

  • Interesting how people are putting down those who use SC when it's frankly no better than getting healed by others in time lost. (see my post several posts up)

That's not pedantic, Thanataphobia is an irrational fear of death. In the game it is fear of bleeding which as we all know is haemophobia.

I can out pedantic anyone. I can out pedentasize anyone? I can out pedanticness anyone? I don't know. Feel free to correct me and win.

Ah yes, I remember when Thana actually counted dead survivors as injured. The perk's name made sense back then....

    • Hard no from me for Voice chat. I saw what a joke it made F13, I want nothing to do with that. Frankly, I think Voice Chat needs to go the way of Game Spy and just ######### die.
    • Chase indicators for all survivors is okay
    • Kindred should be passed out as a freebie perk a person can choose to slot or not to slot, but it should be the first perk every new character gets along with their teachables.
    • Consider giving one of the anti-totem perks a totem counter so that those who want to hunt down totems can keep track.
  • I wish more people saw it the way you do.

You are only responsible for yourself - you cannot control what others do.

Constantly being pissed at how others play is just bad for your mental health.

  • This seems like a reasonable idea to me.

getting back to full means nothing in the end if generators aren't getting done. time spent healing yourself (at less than 100% speed) is time not spent working on generators.

I don't think you are looking at the big picture. That's fine, it's not abundantly obvious to everybody.

Assume that both you and a teammate are free to do a gen, but you are injured.

Heal time if you heal yourself with SC (50% heal speed penalty) is 32 seconds. Heal time if your teammate heals you is 16 seconds.

With those facts in mind, let's assume you heal yourself and you teammate works the gen. You just got 32 seconds of player time on a generator at 100 percent efficiency on the gen as your teammate could work uninterrupted.

If your teammate doesn't do the gen and heals you, then you both heal the generator for another 16 seconds, the generator got two people doing the gen for 16 seconds which is arguably 32 seconds worth of player time (16 from each player) at 90% efficiency each.

So really, it's really not losing time if you heal yourself. Arguably, you progres the gen less if you run up to a player on a gen to get healed, then help them when your done due to the loss in repair effency each player suffers when multiple players work a gen.

  • Actually, they have admitted they built a rubber-band powered plane and are now trying to put jet plane parts on the game.

I sometimes think we'd be better off wiping the slate and starting clean. However, it can wait a couple more years.

  • Nope - You want power at the end of the game, run NOED or Blood Warden.

If they're at the exit, you've lost at that point. Just chase them out and deal with it. If their antics bother you, look down while doing it.

It's literally seconds from your entire game ffs.

  • I still slot it if I have it. If nothing else, it makes the medkit I bring along last longer and gives me the means to get back to full if my teammates are otherwise occupied.

So your solution is to complete a gen (basically sending a flair to say where you are) so the killer can then close the hatch and go straight for you as they now know where you are?

It takes time to get to that gen - in that time you can be making yourself invisible

I used to do this with the old hatch mechanics - make a noise at a gen to force the killer to leave the hatch, then use a detoured route to get to the hatch while they are investigating.

  • So basically some people are complaining that a killer is camping the hatch when a perfectly viable counter exists that could discourage the behavior.

Why do I feel like we've had this discussion about something else before......

  • It's my understanding the devs from day 1 wanted a game that would allow for fortune's to shift on a dime. But it can also be interpreted that these may of been this game's "Blue Shell" or "noob tube" - an entry level mechanic put into the game specifically to help a lesser skilled player have a chance to be successful against somebody more skilled than they are.

I'm with Mochan on this one - I don't think it's an issue that they exist - it's just how often they come up.

Thing you got to remember is that when these things were first in the game, our blood web was DRASTICALLY different. You only saw one irri per level, we paid 2 to 3X as much per node in the web, AND had CONSIDERABLY more nodes per level. Which meant we had to spend considerably more bloodpoints if we wanted these rare items.

However, as the web has been made easier to grind through, these items were never adjusted back enough to compensate - so they are nowhere near as rare as they are supposed to be.

    I mean, think about it...

How many killers hate broken keys? It's just the purps and iri's, right?

How many surivors complain about a Cypress Mori? It's usually the Ebony's they despise, right?

If these things were as rare as they used to be, I don't think they'd be nearly the problem they are now.

  • I'll say this much - whatever the threshold for "excessive disconnects" is - it's not enough. Because it's not discouraging the behavior.

I, for one, am sick of having teammates DC because they don't have the intestinal fortitude to actually put effort into the game. Something needs to be done yesterday.

  • Shortly after the Pig released, I managed to down this really cocky bald-dwight right at the exit. He was the last one I needed to chase out.

I put a trap on his head, then stepped back and said out loud to myself

    "Choose your fate"

My intention ... if he didn't move, I'd let him bleed out. If he crawled to me, I'd hook him. If he crawled out, the bear trap would take his head.

He was screwed either way - it was up to him to choose his fate.

He chose the beartrap. LOLs were had by both myself and all the survivors in chat afterwords for my diabolical cruelty.

  • You really can't change what others do. All you can do is focus on your own behavior and attempt to lead by example.

I know we lack in leaders who know how to lead by example by not being toxic buttheads right now, but we can at least try.

  • As a survivor - the only thing I consistently do that could be considered signature is that I take responsibility for my saves. If I rescued you off the hook and the killer shows up, I will always throw myself in the killer's way so you can get away - even if it's my own death.

  • Eh, that's okay. I got lucky and got The Game as ghostface. After I killed 1, the other 3 decided to waste 15 or 20 minutes of time playing hide and seek instead of doing the gens.

I double pipped from that because I did eventually track them all down and destroy them, so no ######### were given.

  • I did it for Nea and Doc as I like their prestige look

I haven't bothered since - it's a lot of work, especially with the sheer number of perks we have now.

  • I didn't time it, does it really matter?

I felt it needed to be said, I said it. You can either go along with it, or not.

  • It's just a reflection of how people are when they take down the social masks.

Many of them are just weak and insecure - and use tearing down others as a way to justify their meager existance. For others, it's a matter of they lack any self-awareness or reflection and are unable to let go of their own bias.

I feel a lot of it is deflection from their own flaws in order to protect the Ego - which is a mistake as far as I'm concerned.

I'm willing to admit I'm far from perfect, often falling prey to snark and sarcasm when I feel people are being less than intelligent.

For me, the path to salvation is a 3 step process of guiding me away from that behavior

Step One - If you feel unable to control yourself or just not in the right mindset to be non-toxic, turn off the game. In fact, loading it up at all when you know you're not in the right mindset would be a mistake.

Second Step was repeating to myself that I have no control over what others do in a game. Instead of getting upset about how people play, I should work toward just beating them. If I can't, I don't deserve the win. And if I'm not willing to resort to any tactic allowed by the game to do so, I have no right to complain that I can't keep up. This step I've more or less mastered.

Third Step (and Alas, this one I fail at often, it's a work in progress) is trying very hard to live by the creed "I have a right to complain about how others play when I myself am perfect - ergo until I play perfectly, I should not complain how others play". I force myself (even when pissed off) to ask myself "What could I have done differently?" this means no matter how badly my team or situation was, I do my best to not use it as an excuse. I reflect on the game and look for something I could of done differently - some flaw in my execution. And 100% of the time, I always remember something I should of done differently. Reflecting that I made a mistake in that game, I no longer have a right to complain about how another players played

I feel that instead of feeding the toxicity, people just focused first on cleaning up their own act - we'd all be better for it. I'm doing my damndest over here myself - I can only hope others will do the same.

  • yah, I don't believe for a moment you are a rank 1 killer

  • Using the tools available in the game is not toxic, even if the tactic is not popular.

Getting salty about it and sending nasty messages afterwords is.

  • I dunno, it's a tossup between bad teammates that DC at the slightest provacation or the weak farmer-killers that rank them up to levels they have no business being in.

  • So is tunneling, your point?

Should people not work harder toward their objective?

  • Cleansing is only really an issue if only one person on the team is doing it as she can chain together a bunch of quick downs. But if everybody cleanses around the same time, you essentially half the effectiveness of her vile purge.

  • I prefer to remain unseen myself, but I'll adapt as the situation warrants it.

  • scratch that. I just got robbed by server lag. TWICE in the SAME GAME my Dead Hard didn't fire. Then at the end it fired, then I ended up standing still for no apparent reason while I got killed at the exit

Devs - you can't justify your season pass at this point, your servers are in an unacceptable state.

  • You win some, you lose some

I need to play survivor more so I can get out of these flippin' brain-dead ranks where my team is a bigger risk to me than the killer though

I mean, it's just an add to skins, but sure, everyone's opinion is valid, would you have changed them for other things? I mean, I would love to be able to unlock and pick specific hooks (the full hook, not just ornaments)

Personally I think we have enough customization in the game through the growing library of skins we have.

To me, the charms feel tacked-on and shoe-horned in to justify the rewards on the Rift. This is why they annoy me.

But I understand why some people like them. It doesn't affect my gameplay other than it encourages the devs to be tempted into more more consumer-unfriendly microtransactions - but I'm not willing to die on this hill just yet. I just wanted it stated I don't like where this is going, no more.

Imma edit that so people stop saying this, yes, they don't have to play less serious because the entire team just walked out like it was a meme "Aight, imma head out. (Drops Dead)"

But it would be nice don't you think? It's Halloween, a time to be festive...

Again, you don't have to do any of this, you're right. It would just be nice :)

In my opinion, no, it wouldn't be nice.

It's ######### halloween. If anything, you should be MORE ruthless. This is the killer's holiday - they should be bringing everything they got.

  • And if they make a habit of it (just like all DCrs on both sides), they need to be ruthlessly banned with increasing penalties as it continues

We have dedicated servers, I'm done waiting. Put an end to this DC crap now!

  • Nobody is under any obligation to play any less seriously because of the holiday.

Just accept that and move on.

Frankly I'm downright annoyed by the number of farming killers I'm running into. It's advancing survivors in ranks that they clearly have no business being in. Then they whine incecently when I play killer and knock them back down where they belong with cold ruthlessness.

  • I find the charms pointless myself, but to each their own

Both EA and Ubisoft sacrifice fun for a bigger bottom line They'd rather charge more or 'encourage' RMT with fake grind instead of making something their player base would enjoy.

Fun is subjective. Some people find running the challenges fun, some don't.

This game has always had a grind, so more of the same is no surprise there.

  • No different from EA? Excuse me? Do you see loot boxes everywhere yet?

If you're going to draw comparisons, use Ubisoft, it's more accurate. (releases broken products, improves it with time, but keeps selling more characters and season passes)

  • And if they disconnect, they should be ruthlessly punished with bans that get worse with every subsiquent ban.

People need to man up and deal instead of running and crying the moment things get hard.

  • 0/10 for the attempt.

Wraith is not a great subject for a bait-rage thread because nobody can take it seriously.

  • Oh thank goodness. I had a trapper ritual today and kept running into my traps.

    So embarrassing XD

  • Wait.... no chat on switch? seriously?

I might just buy a switch now....

  • Reveling on how fortunes can shift dramatically when people get cocky and make a mistake.

Nothing is more delicious than watching a player get greedy then get punished hard for their greed.

  • Considering killer's have to face 4 opponents, seems like a fair trade to me. Especially considering how much harder they work at the higher ranks.

1 … 20 21 22 23 24 … 48
