Doesn't Pentimento just give you more charges of Inner Healing? I'd probably be pretty happy to see Pentimento in a match where I'm running Inner Healing.

I don’t think the realistic use you get out of inner healing is gonna help when you slow the gens down for the rest of the team all because you wanted to eat the dull totem.

  • I’ve always hated Pentimento because it completely invalidates most builds a survivor has that are totem related.

I used to run Inner Healing 24/7. Was great. Then Pentimento/Plaything became a thing and I realized that they don’t want us touching totems ever unless Devour Hope is in the mix.

  • Nothing about the map changed aesthetically. So yes. That includes the strong buildings like main, mini-shack, and the burnt down house.

    It’s just smaller now.

  • When’s the sequel to this post, “Why I stopped Playing Skull Merchant,” gonna drop?

The anti-camping meter fills like 15% before the Killer even can fully leave and its not like they are wasting time around. That shouldn't be a thing.

As for SM, she is awfull, strange and weak.

As people like Otz demonstrated, the bar filling to 15% is completely obsolete and you can still proxy camp a decent distance away on normal hooks. You can still stand at the basement door and deny the progression speed.

There is zero scenarios where the progression actually throws you under the bus unless you decide to stick around the hook.

  • The one thing they didn’t say is if the Claw Traps still provided haste. Which to be fair, I don’t think was a good design decision to begin with. I do hope that pallets breaking on Claw Traps stay though. Seemed like the only redeeming quality of her current kit.

Stop assuming the worst as people's motivation.

Its just as bad a habit and as I have said to you before clouds your objectivity.

It’s your motivation to be complacent with the indefensible that’s mind boggling.

Your argument here is outright similar to defending Prayer Bead Spirit and Old Legion. Call out the bad game design and the people abusing it.

  • Poor guy is taking a back row to getting Twins off life support and the criminal trial of Skull Merchant. Freddy at this point should retire to an ASMR gig. At least he’ll put someone to sleep.

Have you heard those laughs? Could put anyone to sleep.

  • if (killerIsWorking):
brain = “me must post complaint in codeblock!”
    else
       brain = “complain about blight”

  • Remove the turret resistance addons, make the turrets slightly more of a threat, and maybe tone down how fast the power bar increases in tunnels.

Boom. All he needs. I can even overlook how ridiculous his tail whip is in its current state with how bugged it is.

  • Best place he’s ever been since the PTB, now that they made the turrets less effective and barely worth the effort. Basically a perfect Nemesis at this point so long as you run the busted Turret Resistance addons.

I've played a few games against Xenomorph today with at least 3-man escapes. Turrets are not weak. Too many survivors are just ignoring turrets or placing in them right in front of the control room which are just asking for them to do nothing.

They are weak. How many of those games are Xenos who aren’t running turret resistance?

It takes far too long to bring them to desirable positions because the walk speed is terrible, only for them to be near useless with the resistance addons. Most Xeno are capable of just tapping the turret with M1 and resuming chase. It isn’t hard. The ONLY time it’s useful is when you double stack turrets near each other. But guess what, doesn’t take a genius to realize they can get their power back within seconds by jumping into a tunnel and being the best zoner/chaser in the game.

you waste time setting them up for little reward. Plain and simple.

Keeping Bloodlust while using Tail Attack is a bug. Xenomorph not properly slowing down to 2.0m/s is a bug.

People need to realize that Xenomorph has something aspects of his power that are not working as intended causing him to be stronger than intended. Once those bugs get fixed, we can start to asset whether or not his kit is an actual problem. Otherwise demanding for nerfs when the killer has bugs making him stronger is just going to put him in a far worse state.

You can assess how weak the turrets are compared to Xeno’s tail whip because they’re not bugged. They’re mutually exclusive and are part of the problem.

Everyone knows the tail whip is not working at intended. You can defend the M2 all you want.

But it doesn’t take a genius to understand that the turrets are horrifically under tuned, waste your time with movement speed, and are negated by unseen addons you cannot account for until you realize Xeno wasn’t burned after missing an M2 and getting shot at for 5 minutes only to still retain their power.

  • I don’t hate Alien because they’re strong. I hate Alien because they contribute to the complete ass registration system in place exclusive to M2 Power Killers where any semblance of latency turns a safe vault or crouch into a down because they decided the M2 was on the other side of the football field.

  • BBQ doesn’t alert them. Sure it has a min range, still more consistent than watching the farthest survivor b-line for a pallet the second you hook someone.

  • I seriously don’t understand how rusty ass Spunktrap is an expected license for the game when his entire role in every single game is dying to a fire for three times. You’d think there’d be more fitting VG characters than him. Here I’ll name a few:

    • Scissor Man from Clocktower
    • Gatherers from The Dark Descent
    • Stalker from The Bunker
    • Boogeyman from Silent Hill
    • Patriarch/Fleshpound from Killing Floor

That doesn’t count an outdated choice like Slenderman or another RE one like Jack Baker. Or anything I forgot.

Why does old man Sprungtrap deserve anything after getting himself springlocked, dying trying to harass a minimum wage worker, die by sheer incompetence for falling for a ruse, and getting dropkicked by a child and a funny bear.

Nice just use a perk that's only useful for 1/5th of the match, awesome advise.

Hope is useful for 1/5th of a match. What is your beef with? Hope or MFT? Pick one.

  • Isn’t that a mock up? I remember the updated Gideon images were mock-ups by the art team. I don’t think that was intended to be the final product even though it looks better.

  • As stated: Map of the Realm, Horse Meat, and Call to Arms are solid. Use map of the realm in your builds at first since it REALLY helps the guards to proc on survivors. The only other addon I recommend that has nothing to do with Gen defense is the Battle Axe Head to get Carnifex to destroy pallets more often.

    as for builds:

    • PR: Helps in any build tbf
    • Discordance: Good for pestering survivors on gens
    • BBQ/Nurses: Homing in on survivors with aura readings tends to get the ball rolling, especially when you get good at guard positioning with Call to Arms
    • Surge/Deadlock/DMS: Guards 90% of the time aren’t gonna down anyone so Surge tends to pull it’s worth. Good alternatives, especially if you plan on relying on Assassin with the Treated Blade, are Deadlock/DMS, since you can use them to pester survivors off Gens
  • You still get the Utility Torch, Engineer’s Toolbox, and Ranger Kit. It can actually be classified as a buff because it removes the chance to get a Rainbow Map and Skeleton Key which are the weaker items.

Only event items are nuked, which to be fair, seems unintentional since they’re event addons and Ace in the Hole doesn’t have the same effect.

  • BHVR 1-Upping Singularity isn’t something I expected. Honestly, kinda like they expected Larry to not be a hit. Maybe they took notes from Dredge or something, but this feels too convenient.

This actually disappoints me since I like Larry and no one plays him. I like Alien, but I’m not sure I’m a fan of this coming so early right after End Transmission.

Both sides are responsible, because neither side wants to give up. Just like the killer could stop checking the 3 gens after a certain time, the survivors could stop running away, in an attempt to lure the killer away from the 3 gen.

Escaping is the survivors objective, just as killing is the killers objective. When no one wants to give in, then both sides are equally at fault.

If one side wants to play the long, boring game with me, then i just give in and let the other side finish their objective, so i can move on to the next match. Especially during an event. In the time i´d waste in that match, i could make 200k+ bloodpoints in different matches.

The killer's objective being to kill survivors doesn't excuse the methods they use to get to that point. You can argue both sides having their own interests which equal out, but killer has a far bigger influence on the match in that regard.

With that baseline in place, with both killer/survivor goals set, we can now say that the killer, with the character they decide to choose, the perks they decide to bring, and the strategy they have in place, decides how fast those gens go. Because in order to get more kills, you have to stop gens as much as possible right? That shouldn't be the case. I've never seen a multiplayer game of any sort allow one side to completely deny any progression in pacing.

Payload as a gamemode is popular in any game medium because there's a fail state for both sides. Took to long? They defended good and we can move on. Took the payload to the end of the map? Congrats on pushing through their defenses, let's end early.

Skull merchant is by far the best example of this and shouldn't have ever existed. Simply picking her changes how the game is played because her ideal game state is dropping drones at a three gen. No one is gonna keep flip flopping drones at strategic loops or areas with her because there's no reason to.

What do survivors have? Prove Thyself, which is getting nerfed, and a couple others. They never affect the speed of the game as much as the killer does.

Why is that the case? Why is stretching a game long-term a good thing? In what world, does limiting a game time harm the overall experience? And don't think I don't understand your position here, it's just that I see no world where ending the game early is a bad thing.

If a match takes that long, then both sides are to blame.

    I'll bite.

Explain in any way, shape, or form, a survivor, whose objective is to COMPLETE generators, is responsible for delaying the game to an absolutely unbearable amount of time outside of it being a hacker. I'll wait here and actually listen to your response. Maybe you can convince me I don't know. But maybe, just maybe, you actually have a valid reasoning to this I'm not seeing.

  • @fulltonon said:

make it 30 minutes AFTER last gen popped and I'd say that'd do good.

Defeats the purpose. The last gen being popped guarantees the exit gates will open and do the endgame. At best it resolves the hacker fiasco. At worst it fails to address the long ass games.

  • @Tsulan said:

Wasn´t that already lowered to 1 hour max?

Even if it was lowered to an hour, it wouldn't even be worth it since we all know why it's that long.

30 minutes is standard. An hour is a complete waste of time. Hell let the killer win, would be better than being held hostage requiring you to either give yourself up to the killer or doin' a DC.

Besides waterlogged shoe being buffed in patch 5.3.0 wasn't the last time she received changes like 4 years ago

Yep. Hag is a decent killer but my opinion is that she’s starting to falloff in quality since then. CoH absolutely stomped her when it was first released too.

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/340728/hag-is-neglected

Yes, Corrupt is a requirement for setup killers, and Hag isn't the force of nature she once was - but she's absolutely fine.

I play a lot of Hag, but I don't trap hooks. I instead trap basically every junction and thoroughfare I can find, and it works pretty damn well.

About all she needs is some tweaks to her addons, as she's one of those killers that has a handful of good ones, a handful of boring but functional ones and a lot that are worse than an empty slot.

I do agree about hooks - all killers should have their power disabled near hooked survivors, honestly.

Hag gets absolutely roasted by SWF in the same way as Pinhead. She excels best in solo queue and it absolutely blows when it happens because most survivors give up the second they see Hag. At least that’s how I see it. She’s not as bad as trapper but it’s hard to enjoy a match with her.

  • At least she’s a relatively new killer that still gets use.

Hag hasn’t gotten a single update or tweak to her kit for years so much so that her optimal build has stayed static even after the perk updates.

Dbd is very good with the storys of each license so in that case we would get the most "story" centered map which wouldnt be kino, since the map isnt really much story rich. It would be something like Origins or Blood of the dead.

But about the Killer I am unsure, maybe Dr monty but it would be abit of a reach, maybe something more "simple". Maybe a Panzersoldat or a Marwa.

I thought Kino because it's the most recognizable. I mean, Nemmy and PH didn't have their own maps either since they're in different games. And yeah the Panzersoldat would fit so well!

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/330377/potential-for-a-cod-zombies-chapter

If BHVR worked with Activision-blizzard I would drop them like a bad habit. Additionally, they have huge resource issues with their current zombies. It's safe to say they will not be doing anything similar in the future without massive server upgrades/coding improvements.

Only a hypothetical. I'd scoff at BHVR too if they supported Activision-Blizzard right now. But the zombies community is pretty passionate about it, especially the earlier titles. So I'd just like to think about how great it would be if it was actually a chapter.

  • Both base Huntress and Baba Yaga got new music at the same time. The only issue was that the base Huntress music was bugged/delayed when the skin was released. It got fixed next hotfix and included the new music. That's why it wasn't there initially.

  • Deja Vu got a buff. I guess. I mean it shows the three gen now which is pretty okay.

Better than showing a couple random gens once a trial.

Even you confirmed it is so situational. Even UB is not that great. And it does not matter it is free UB or not. Because again, killer should not hear boon. Killer should not pick you up. And leave you on ground. And ofcourse for best value, you need SWF. Does not work good for solo, another garbage-tier perk. For solos at least.

I thought we always talked about perks in context to SWF. When are we not? CoH is a wasted perk slot if you run four of them in the same lobby.

But to each their own. I love Exponential enough to run it regularly and I like running Dark Theory too. Maybe I’m just a glue eater that overdoses on small percentages idk!

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2857937#Comment_2857937

Decent? You have to be in area of boon, killer should not hear boon's sound and killer should leave you on ground. And then you can pick up yourself. One of the best perks for sure.

Run the Boon near an edge or main building and all you’d have to do is sit on the edge for it to work, which the chimes won’t be as easy to hear. If you’re in an SWF, you’re probably running Unbreakable. The recover speed is enough for you to pick yourself up in no time at all if the Killer decides to do literally anything else.

It’s free Unbreakable otherwise if your team doesn’t go down in front of it. The pressure from it also makes endgame far more difficult for Killer.

  • It works best with vault speed builds. If you have Dark Theory running near Shack/Main Building/Certain Jungle Gyms then you’re basically uncatchable till Bloodlust III or they snuff it, which gives you more distance anyway.

    @GoodBoyKaru said:

They somehow made a boon perk worse than Exponential.

    Exponential is decent.

  • Man, remember when BHVR forgot that Wraith existed?

    Good times.

  • Balance: Legion/Ghostface

    Design: Freddy

I'd honestly put those three together with maybe Clown as an honorable mention.

  • @dugman said:

Clown’s red add-on was seriously overpowered, it deserved its nerf. Whether they should buff Clown’s base kit is a separate question.

Pinkie Finger required you to get as close as humanly possible to get the exposed. Even then, any good survivor will pre-drop or stun before you can land a hit.

Meanwhile, Alch Ring and Compound 33 literally doesn't penalize you for doing your job and makes looping hopeless.

  • Nope. Just turns off the TV you inserted it into. Doesn't reset the cooldown either if it's already 'techincally' off. The only thing that affects TVs is her Cabin Sign and Iri Video Tape addons.

  • Ol' Ghosty got it worse. Outclassed by Sadako the poor guy.

  • Enjoyable and funny.

Sure you get consistent 1Ks/2Ks. But I still like her. Like how people like Pig.

Plus I like her Ultra Rare cosmetic. Ms. Bone's Wild Ride.

  • Sadako saved it for me due to how faithful she is to the source. Also she's fun.

Hard disagree on Nemesis. Somehow I find him more boring than Artist. PH with extra steps.

  • NEW CHAPTER: Bowlorama

    Patch features the following:

    • New Killer: Roman Bellic
    • New Survivor: Niko Bellic
    • New Map: Memory Lane

    ”Hey cousin! Let’s go bowling!”

  • Lucky. I got the cutscene and charm only for DBD to BSOD my PC. Totally worth it for a charm ;’)

  • Survivors have a straight forward solution to all of this:

Dead Hard and send her to Lery’s.

But seriously, I do think it’s almost too difficult to beat out a Starstruck Nurse running slowdown. There really isn’t much you can do against that. Base kit is perfectly fine however.

  • I think a practical solution would be this:

    • Survivors spawn with EXTRA reverse bear traps
    • The key can always be found up to the third box

That way Video Tape is still an Iridescent-tier addon and AFK Pig is gone. Though having that many RBTs may be a wee bit too much though.
