    Oh their survivor sided huh?

    Toolbox Nerf Coming soon.

    Totem spots being adjusted soon

Bubba is getting buffs to his addons and maybe the rework treatment

Map reworks of Springwoods and Lery's to benefit survivors and some killers.

Quit whining its the threads like this BHVR never responds to it's only been 1 week since patch 3.5.0 came out and your still whining about this survivor bias stuff.

    Move. The. Heck. On

Or just quit the game if the devs make you this mad

Tool boxes were mentioned for POSSIBLE adjustments, not definitively in line for changes. And with their wording they specifically made it sound like they're more looking at changing at how toolboxes work rather than nerfing them.

Nothing was said about totem spots being adjusted at any point. They said they're considering doing something to totems to give incentive to track them down over squatting on a gen the whole match, or aka a "Secondary objective".

The map changes are the vaguest part of their claims. they mentioned the concept of making maps smaller, but not only is the time line for this change probably many months off (if it ever happens at all) but the effectiveness of the changes could end up being almost non existent or minor, or maybe even further buffing survivors with better pallet spawns.

Leatherface is both one of the least popular and weakest killers. Stop acting like necessary balance changes that SHOULD happen are gifts that we should be appreciative of.

I don't think the developers are survivor sided because they made changes to both sides.

    Here's a few to start:

    • Survivor: Nerfed Balanced Landing
    • Killer: Nerfed Hex: Ruin
    • Survivor: Nerfed Instaheals.
    • Killer: Nerfed Nurse.
    • Survivor: Buffed Perks.
    • Killer: Buffed Perks.
    • Survivor: Buffed Pallets.
    • Killer: Added the EGC.
    • Survivor: DS wasn't gutted after change.
    • Killer: Freddy wasn't gutted after change.

I can go on for a while, but in short, the developers aren't bias towards any side. You shouldn't assume the developers are X sided because Y got buffed or nerfed. Research, from previous patches, shows the developers are quite neutral and look at top tier players for advice. 😁

The survivors were straight up broken. Changes/nerfs made to them were necessary, and even after the nerfs alot of what survivors use is still extremely strong. You can't compare necessary balance changes of broken mechanics to gutting a tool of killers because it annoyed new players.

And things like EGC wasn't for the sake of killers, it was so games could move on instead of both sides not wanting to lose so they just camp hatches and hold games hostage.

From the dawn of DBD's inception it has always been HEAVILY sided towards survivors balance wise, and anything given to killers, be it nerfs to survivors or buffs to killers, were changes that were needed and begged for with months of forum posts and youtube content discussing the terrible state of the game. And through this whole process dumb survivor mains as well as BHVR would always claim the game was perfectly balanced and so it took a ridiculous amount of effort to ever get it through their thick skulls that it wasn't just fine.

Opinion of the game back in 2016 was the exact same. Game was fine, killers were fine. No problems at all if you were to believe the devs or survivor mains. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1fkX3H84SE& That look fine to you?

    Here you go; https://lmgtfy.com/?q=define+biased

It's not biased at all. Making the maps smaller a huge killer buff to all the killer's aspects including dealing with the problem with gen speed.

That's a vague promise with no real effect. Those map changes could be countless months away and even when they do finally get around to it there's also the high likelyhood that the changes are minor at best and don't end up making it better for killer. If anything the idea of making maps smaller sounds like it'd be better for survivors because that'd also mean a high chance of multiple strong loops and safe pallets all in close proximity to each other.

However everything else they said was one sidedly geared towards improving the game for survivors with no care or thought of how killers suffer as a result. That is extremely ######### biased.

Can i ask for some insight, i havent watched and cant atm. Did they really never say anything about it out of the context of "if gen speeds increase?"

The exact quote is them not wanting to have "Blanket" builds in the game with multiple perks working to slow down gens and claiming to work on removing synergy between the perks. The example they used was how with new ruin it prevents you from using gen kick perks which is exactly what they're aiming for.

Though they did talk about the game speed being an issue, that's the whole reason why they are looking into Map reworks. Even the map team commented that with the plans to change large maps is disappointing because with smaller map sizes means the maps become less unique.

They understand that gen speed is an issue, but they don't want to increase the time it takes to repair a gen because it will become mind numbly boring to hold m1 much longer than it is now - and they are right.

That's still biased as ######### though. They're perfectly fine giving killers the raw end of the deal and letting them figure out how to continue playing as long as it means survivors don't have to hold M1.

Please listen to this person they are the only one here that has a brain! This game is not “Survivor sided.” Or “Killer sided.” you guys really need to open your eyes and look at the past updates. They’re doing what they can listening to their community. Also they DO think gen speeds are a issue they have a team right now finding ways to fix it go look at their past live streams. Please actually find your research and not give false information thank you.

Their entire point they were making during their Q&A stream is that they don't think anything is wrong with gens. FFS they literally had an entire question segment for it where they boldly stated there's nothing wrong with it and they aren't doing ######### to it.

  • @NullEXE said:

They didn't say they plan to nerf Thana, Dying Light, or Pop. That was in response to the idea of increasing Gen speeds, because if you use a build of only gen regression perks, and a generator already takes 120 seconds to repair then that makes for a very slow, very boring game.

Don't just pick a sentence out of one of their answers, and then spread it like fact like a lie.

At the same time, they plan on updating the large maps to be more in Killer's favor, which is the main problem with gen speed. It isn't the how quick you can repair a gen, but rather how fast the killer has a chance to find you.

They're trying to get cut out perk synergy so that people don't run several different percentage slow down perks at once. They said they don't want people just running gen slow down builds every game, all the while they're paying no attention to why people do that in the first place.

Right, just enjoy the game, every big update is "one sided" then they work out issues and everybody calms down until the next hot button issue, have a little faith people, deal with the changes, or maybe this is how the Entity weeds out the weak 😋 lol

Except this patch has none of that. They one sidedly targeted killers for bullshit reasons and used their Q&A stream to say "We did nothing wrong and we're NOT going to give you anything in return. Learn to live with it." They're not "fixing" anything because they believe there's nothing to fix.

I dont think that this will happen.

I also dont think that they will have some special interactions, but I guess the values will be changed. And something like what happened with the Med Kit that Add Ons will give more BPs when hitting Great Skill Checks.

I also doubt that they will make them more useful for Sabotage and less useful for Repair, because Sabotage should not be buffed. (Sabotage needs to be weak to not remove one of the Core Mechanics of the game)

They NEVER said they were going to nerf it. BUT they did specifically say They're going to make them "fun". Everything I've seen so far points to one thing: They're going to change how they mechanically work but not the actual effectiveness. They're going to implement some stupid interactive mini game, and they may even buff the damn things because "It's interactive now and requires work so survivors should be rewarded.". A straight nerf is unlikely as they've clearly stated they want gens to fly by and survivors to not spend a lot of time holding M1, and to that end they're even nerfing killer perks that aren't good to begin with.

  • @Skywclu said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/123400/so-are-the-devs-officially-coming-out-as-survivor-sided

You're totaling leaving out the part that makes them "nerfing", which they're not even doing, seem bad. They said they were trying to make it so that killers couldn't have four slowdown perks in a build that synergize with eachother.

Exactly. In other words they're nerfing current builds which aren't even good to begin with, just like they did with old ruin.

  • This is all information coming from them on a recorded twitch VOD. It's not me guessing or making accusations, this is literally what they themselves said. They don't want slow down perks to be prominent and their view point on gen speed is that they don't want survivors to have to sit on a gen for long periods of time. They never once mentioned anything about how that gameplay affects killer during this segment, it was ONLY about how it negatively affects survivors.

  • They are NOT changing toolboxes. Their EXACT WORDS is that they're "Looking at them as well as their add ons, but nothing is set in stone." Them mentioning that was nothing more than trying to throw a bone to give killers some hope that they might get some sort of help.

In reality they're 100% only thinking about survivors and they think it's not fun if survivors have to sit on a generator for extended periods of time. So they want to make that as low as possible.

Plenty of people double back on saying BHVR is Survivor sided to Killer sided.

It usually happened around DS's nerf, MoMs nerf, etc. Recent posts will conflict with my statement of course because a crucial Killer perk was just nerfed... so, it's become a meme at this point tbh.

Anyways, I guess The Doctor is the only thing they did for Killers with some bug fixes and other such things as well, so that's my error on that part.

All in all, I disagree that BHVR is sided to one side, if they were than they would've nerfed Ruin years ago and done a lot more things to benefit Survivors, think about it...

But they did.... It took the community how many years and months of arguing with them before they recovered the game from the mess it was in back in 2016? Back when survivors were bat ######### broken but both the survivor mains and BHVR were perfectly fine with that and considered it "balanced".

The shifting opinions you just explained yourself. Everyone is happy until something happens that affects them. The survivor mains are happy until they get 1 bad game and then suddenly they're calling for more legion nerfs. Balance out an extremely dumb perk? The devs are suddenly killer sympathizers. Which DS is actually still really stupid, but that's something for another thread.

And again, the doctor changes weren't a benefit to killers, it was made for the survivors. The bug fixes are NOT gifts that we should be appreciative of, they're something that's expected. If they weren't even willing to fix bugs that were affecting killers then that's when it's time to drop the game.

  • @FireHazard said:

    @WalkenMurray

I'm sorry to hear that, personally I don't think they're taking the Survivor side in updates, since a lot of the updates like Ruins nerf was within reason.

I play both sides but i'm a Killer main, playing Survivor against Ruin was like a meme to me, i'd say things like "So... is it ruin this time?" and i'd do this because it was a pretty dominant perk in Red Ranks for the longest time.

I may not agree with all of the changes, but I agree that the perk was heavily used in Red Ranks which made perk builds a lot less... unique I guess.

As for how the game is right now with Killers and Survivors it's hard to say where they lean on the spectrum, they just buffed Doctor and changed a lot of things around to benefit Killers while also helping out with some Survivor issues, so I don't really know personally.

I wouldn't say they're Survivor sided though, since a lot of people say they're Survivor sided and than shift that to Killer sided in a month so...

They very specifically stated in the patch notes that the changes were 100% geared towards survivors. Ruin was nerfed because it was tough on new players and Doctor was changed (not buffed) because Survivors thought he was annoying (Nothing to do with his actual viability). Neither decision was about actual gameplay balance and was only about pleasing survivors.

Ruin was only used so much because of the terrible state of Gen Repairs, and not only was the issue not addressed but they've also not even talked about whether or not it will be. They just took away a necessary killer perk and didn't care.

Also, what did they do to benefit killers? There are no benefits to killers in these patch notes. Another also, who says they're killer sided? No actual killer mains I've met have ever said that, only survivor mains do.

You totally forget that Plague literally gets buffed when surviviors heal. Legion has none of that.

Yes, I remember. In this concept he gets buffed when they're injured instead of when they heal. They're forced to heal and waste time, or else legion gets a really strong power. Plague forces them to NOT heal or else she gets a really strong power. Still very similar.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

This is worse. Deep Wounds is currently 30 seconds, while injured it could be changed to 15. The problem, is they already tried this back when Legion released. It made it possible to 1 shot survivors with Frenzy hits, so long you had Stab Wounds study and Frank’s Mixtape.

In his current state? It's better. It makes him similar to plague. Survivors either waste time and heal, which can be punished even further with Legion Pin, or they don't heal and get punished with the empowered deep wounds.

The 30 second timer serves 2 purposes. The first is to give survivors a small chance of finding a friend in time, and the second is to balance out his downing potential. It gives him the ability to successfully down someone with his ability but if he wants to pick that person up then he'll have to stalk them from a distance waiting for them to go down.

It fits in with his chain stabbing playstyle as its biggest benefit is the ability to quickly stab and forget as you chase other people and let them bleed out on their own.

  • The 80% pick rate argument is the dumbest thing about this whole situation. Pick rate does not equal unhealthy or over powered. If that were the case then I'll bet you any amount of money that if you were to pull an unbiased statistic on survivor perks then DS, Borrowed time, Adrenaline, and Dead Hard have even higher pick rates than Ruin. But you'll never see survivor mains or devs admit that they're annoying or problematic.

Pop is an alternative but a mediocre one at best. It still requires an entire hook for only 25% of a single gen's progress which is only 20 seconds of repair time for a solo survivor or 10 for 2 or more.

Dying light WAS good but DE's methods for balancing killer seem to be that there can't be anything that meaningfully inhibits survivors without an unequally higher amount of effort on the killers part. So -25% action speed for killing the obsession wasn't "fun" for the survivors.

Someone already made a good point about their decisions. Survivors are the cash cows. New players coming into the game are largely going to gravitate towards survivors. It's where the group play is that friends can enjoy, it's where the horror "experience" is, and it's what the content makers of BDO advocate for the most. The group play being the biggest aspect because if you can get 1 person to stick then there's a high likelyhood you can bring in their friends as well.

I don't blame a company for wanting revenue, but they also can't complain if they're called idiots for their ######### business practices and biased design decisions. The game will most definitely continue on because in the end even though it LOOKS like a massive outrage, what happens on the forums is still only a small minority of vocal opinions, and so it can safely be ignored. A lot of veteran killers will leave or change how they play, but that's also a small enough minority for them to safely ignore. So the point is that there will still be damage from shaping the game in a one sided manner, but as long as they keep killer in a just barely decent state then they can safely keep enough killers hooked while leaving survivors in the more enjoyable position.

  • Survivors have always been stronger since the day the game was released, and since the game was released both the developers and survivor mains have claimed that there is no issue.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1fkX3H84SE&

This is what DBD was originally like, and both the devs and survivor mains said this was a fair game.

  • @Chaubin said:

Can we talk about ruin without talking about red ranks? While lm sure that most people who have an issue with it being changed are at that rank, I have a hard time believing most of the population is at that level. In my games, at green ranks, gens arent done in 5-7 minutes *without* ruin, and it's even longer in lower ranks.

While I can understand the frustration the changes *can* cause at max rank, that's not where most players, and certainly not new players, will rest.

What I can say is that I feel this change will be healthier for those lower ranks/new players as we wont be nearly as frustrated because while red ranks can instantly find the totem, or hit *every* great check, I sure as heck cannot. I had a game the other day that took like 40 minutes because the killer couldn't catch us, and we couldn't do gens. That was abysmal. These changes will make that problem significantly less likely, and hopefully get more players in and retain them.

I know this post is dragging on, so one final point. If red ranks can beat through Ruin *anyway*, I'm not sure why it bothers those of that rank anyway. If ruin only delays the game like 30 seconds, it's not that big of a deal to lose it.

DBD is a competitive game and competitive games are balanced around the assumed highest skill level. This is because what may be a problem for an inexperienced player is something that is perfectly fine or even trivial for someone who understands the game better. Case in point: The Ruin nerf. They're changing it not because it's strong but instead because it negatively effects new players. They're incapable of properly hitting skill checks so it makes the game harder for them, and now they're gutting the perk all together.

Sure, you can say that "if it's not working properly against red ranks then why does it matter if it gets removed?", but you're missing 2 key points. The first is that this entire thing clearly shows the developers aren't interested in balancing out gen speed issues for killers and are more interested in pandering to new survivor players. The second issue is that while it wasn't effective against every single survivor in every single match it still managed to slow some of them down. Ruin is/was our only decently strong tool at slowing down survivors and now that's getting removed completely.

I urge everyone to actually go look at Gen speed and see the math for themselves so they can realize that new Ruin will be statistically pointless and will have 0 impact on games.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Can we once not have a discussion about Gen Speed without the mention of a tru3-Video? This guy is complaining about Gens going to fast while still getting 4Ks...

Gens are definitely far to fast, doesn't mean that Survivors can't still ######### up during the process and die for it. Tru3 is still a pretty good killer and also a good study for Red Rank games, even though I do agree he very often says/does things that just make him out to be a complete and utter idiot.

  • @Plaquer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/972894#Comment_972894

Huntress's lullaby is incredibly powerful, being able to almost entirely remove the ability to heal or do gens is incredibly strong, but making that a permanent passive ability will be too much, without any risk to the killer, they will almost always know where every survivor is, not to mention the passive regression being caused by the constant missed skill checks, not to mention the effect it could have if used with doctor when combined with unnerving presence and overcharge. I understand that Lullaby needs a buff but this isn't the way to go about it.

It doesn't remove jack. It makes skill checks harder to hit, and if the survivors can't hit it then that's their fault. You're saying that it's not fair that survivors should be punished if they fail when presented with a challenging mechanic.

  • @Plaquer said:

Please no, permanently having no warning on skill checks not to mention the additional regression, its too much to be just a passive perk

So what you're saying is that it'd be to broken and unfair if survivors were punished for making mistakes? Because if you gave the killers 5 hooks and can't even focus enough to hit skill checks without a warning then I don't think a killer's perk should be blamed for your problems.

  • @Milo said:

This is not the way it should be buffed.

Of course it's not the best buff. A full rework of Deep wounds or Legion would be optimal. But at this rate Legion will probably stay in limbo for another half a year, maybe even more if I'm overestimating Behavior. So the best idea for the current times is something simple, something that doesn't require a whole lot of thinking or development process.

With something SIMILAR to this Legion could easily become just barely annoying enough to be viable. His ability to down people will remain the same, but with enough of a speed bonus then as long as you exist on the map then he can smack you with his worthless debuff. 1 application every so often is laughably bad, but if you're constantly bogged down by random drive by knife attacks and constantly having to mend then the sheer quantity of deep wounds applications makes him into a viable time waster.

I would even argue that this IS what he needs if he wants to be good. You could have all the chase or downing power in the world, but unless you're Nurse or Spirit tier then what'll matter more in the end is the ability to slow and stop the survivors. Look at clown.

He's a chase focused killer who was balanced away from the likes of the 2 top meta killers, and as a result he'll permanently remain in mid to low tier. His chase is decent but he completely lacks any map pressure or way to slow the rest of the game down.

Remember that I said similar though. This post was just a concept exploring the direction I think legion needs to go in, which is to say I think that he needs more speed. A lot more speed. I honestly think legion should hold the place of the fastest killer around, which would fit the theme of his power anyways.

Well, this is a problem, I think that this is caused by toolboxes being incredibly strong. Still, I don't see how this has something to do with my post. Do you want to say that my idea is not needed since it doesn't affect games?

I think I misread your reply and thought you were saying that it's the killers fault if 2-3 gens get popped just trying to down a single survivor. My bad.

  • @NMCKE said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/824397#Comment_824397

You need to get a protection hit, which isn't easy nowadays. ?

Protection hits are actually detrimental to your team most of the times, so I think this is fair! ?

You walk up to a killer and get hit. How is that difficult? In what way is does that require skill or thought? And if you're getting hit while he's carrying someone then it's 100% safe because he's not even going to be able to chase after you until he finishes hooking a survivor. Oh dear lord I could see it now on an SWF.

1 dumbass fails at life and gets caught, the other 3 mindlessly body block and take free hits to proc their perks, then everyone scatters and heals. Now they have Decisive Strike on steroids that forces the killer to ignore people for an entire year. And then when the inevitable 2 minute slug fests come around survivors would complain about how it's unfair that killers are slugging them instead of picking them up. Oh better yet, lets make it so people can bring Decisive Strike along with it. That'd be hilarious.

  • @NMCKE said:

    In One's Hand:

You feel determined when you're life is challenged.

After taking a protection hit while the killer is carrying a survivor, this perk activates.

When you're unhooked, In One's Hand starts a 60/80/100 second timer.

When you're hooked while the timer is active, the hook breaks and stuns the killer for 5 seconds.

Perk deactivates after a successful use or when the timer runs out.

So you want a Decisive strike that requires less effort to activate but gives you a full 1:40 worth of protection with no counterplay or skill involved AND instantly sabotages a hook?

  • @Fibijean said:

Mechanical handicaps on SWF teams simply will not work. Nerfing SWF is not a solution. We've been over this before. People will just join the queue as solos and then lobbyhop until they get a game with their friends to avoid being handicapped. Then not only are we back to square one as far as improving killer experience against coordinated survivors goes, but the survivors' experience is also worsened. It's just making the game less enjoyable for people for no reason at all.

Add in a scaling penalty timer for queue hopping like 90% of competitive games already have. Problem solved. Though I fully understand what you're saying and I do agree with some of your points, I'm also thinking that it's still a good idea to gut SWF in some way. I don't actually believe solo survivors would be massively affected by it so that only leaves the people trying to play in groups to get the short end of the stick.

The big issue with not doing anything to SWF is that I don't see any other option as being viable due to Behavior's history. As it is they're listening to the lower end of the playerbase ladder by nerfing 2 of the strongest killers, thus destroying the balance that was being held up until now at the very top of the competitive gameplay. Their decision making is definitely not something i trust.

Red rank SWF groups are going to absolutely ruin high tier play if/when there's no strong killer to counter them. However like it is now if those strong killers exist then the bottom end of the ladder bitches and moans about it so a balance is never struck.

Some have suggested that solo survivors should get buffed up so that there's more room to buff killers and I'm pretty sure that they'll easily screw that up. I have full confidence that they could do a good job at buffing survivor gameplay but I highly doubt they'd achieve the same with killers.

No, that survivors have been completely butchered and the reason why people play with their friends nowadays is to have fun considering solo is nearly impossible to have fun with now. Nobody should be complaining about survivors at this point considering how much the game holds peoples hands nowadays.

No, survivors weren't butchered. No, people do not only play SWF for fun with friends. Infact I'd wager that there's more people doing group play for the sake of winning than there are people who are playing with friends for "fun".

You are correct that the game holds peoples hands, but it's the survivors that are getting hand held through the game. That's why group play should be gutted.

  • @blackx2 said:

This discussion will not go anywhere, won't make any difference all because the lack of proper perspective.

And what is your "proper" perspective? That if it's not fun for survivors then it shouldn't exist?

  • Keys have never been nerfed, BNP only got a nerf recently, flashlight wasn't too long ago either. Original DBD was so survivor sided that it was unplayable as killer so of course pallets needed nerfing along with windows, and even still that took ages. I've been playing since 2016 and that was still the era of vacuum pallets, insta flash lights, permanently sabotaged hooks, SWF groups every game, ect. Nothing got nerfed back then, it took ages for ANYTHING to finally get touched.

Mastery level for killers are higher but that doesn't mean killer is stronger, it just means survivor is a hell of a lot easier to master and succeed with.

Killers avoid tunneling and camping because survivors complained enough for the dev team to implement different layers of perks and mechanics to make those strategies not only un-viable but extremely punishing to the killer. People avoid NOED because builds are limited and some killers damn near require specific perks to be played, and when NOED gets used, or a lot of other perks for that matter, survivors complain to hell and back about it ingame, on the forums, ect.

Literally any time something that's actually strong for the killers is used survivors will call it broken because it's not balanced unless they have the advantage. If killers were to do the opposite though survivors would just rain down the floods of bullshit excuses ranging from just calling the killer bad all the way to making downright stupid arguments about how none of their perks are good and/or have counterplay. FYI they don't have counterplay.

No one calls doing gens try hard, but we do call it gen rushing.

Generator repair speed is absolutely busted and survivors who argue that point are either delusional or just don't want to let go of what is arguably the biggest and most unbalanced advantage they have in the game right now. 4 Uninterrupted people can easily pop 2-3 gens in a minute an a half. Even if one person is caught out immediately and forced to run from the killer that chase time on a non Nurse or Spirit can and probably WILL last long enough for 2 gens to be popped, and that's without brand new part.

And yes, 3D and 1K CAN be considered unfair if that last survivor escaped through some bullshit means, though rarely does that happen.

Playing on high ranks, shouldn't be easy at all.

Nerfing swf, will inflict a seriously damage in the playerbase.

It's not because they want play on supposedly "easy mode", they play this way because is more fun to play together, maybe nerfing it will cause more problems than solutions.

No. If that were the case then the vast majority of them wouldn't be running maximum try hard perk and item loadouts. They're playing to win as hard they can. High rank SWF (and even lower ranked ones to an extent) ruin the game for killers and should be gutted. Wanna play with your friends? Fine, go ahead and have a blast. But if you're going to have the advantage of group play and communication then you deserve to be handicapped for it.

@BearWolf_51 That seems absolutely right. Seeing it like this, I agree with you.

@Venoxxie Yeah, i get the problem - free gen repair speed penalties would be something incredibly strong paired with the other things can take too long if abused. On the other hand you could just reduce the numbers on these to make them less impactful.

@FootMan2893 Tunneling and Camping got both nerfed without question. I didn't really have camping in my mind, camping is really useless against good survivors. The fact that chases take too long is another problem. If there are 2-3 gens done before you have downed a survivor, you have bad cards regardless of what you do. Then tunneling/camping will probably result in only one kill, if the survivors don't go full clown fiesta. If you go for another survivor though, you'll probably get nothing - and that is my actual problem. You don't get rewarded if you go for a different survivor. (Except if you camp and get the one who is unhooking down right after unhooking.)

I feel like the killer should be rewarded for going after different survivors; in the current state he gets nothing except maybe stacks for BBQ. That's what I actually want to tell :D (Edited the title to reflect this)

Look up "God loops are needed" by truetalent on YT. 3 people did 2 gens in 1:20 which is how long it took the killer to down someone and bring them to a hook. It's not like the killer was even looped for that long either, it was actually a relatively short chase.

  • Here's my take.Make X's ability like bloodlust but on steroids.

Activate it and he slowly ramps up speed over a relatively large period of time and during which if he lands an attack it launches the survivor in the direction of the hit. Getting hit like that causes them to land on the ground and have to recover themselves in a short stun style animation as they pick themselves up.

He vaults windows normally but has reduced pallet stun duration, and if you stun him in any way during this buff it knocks his hat off which causes both his acceleration as well as his maximum speed buffs to go buff up even further.

If he has spent a decent amount of time ramping up or if he's enraged then his hit becomes an insta down.

I actually don't even think it'd be good, and from a gameplay perspective it'd probably be boring as all hell. However if you want something that fits thematically then I think that's pretty damn close.

  • Tunneling already isn't appealing. Chases can already take ages to end in a down, during which multiple gens can get popped. If the killer camps a hook then they're guaranteed to lose the rest while camping and can still lose that camp to borrowed time.

Chasing an unhooked survivor still requires you to dive into another potentially long chase which you can't even capitalize off of because the survivor will just have DS waiting for you. Wait out the timer or eat the DS and go on yet another long chase to down the survivor again. Congrats to the killer, he's only got 2 hooks and (if the others have stuck on gens properly) another 2 gens should be popped with the last one on the way.

Even if each individual survivor is relatively bad at looping then at most the killer will have 2 kills to show for his camping/tunneling strat. He'll either be depipping every game or at best getting safety pips if he got in some free points inbetween.

If killers are doing this and still getting 4k's while ranking up then that is 100% the fault of the survivors, not the killers. Tunneling and camping have already been punished to hell and back with the changes to rank evaluation, point distribution, and perks like DS and borrowed which directly punish from a gameplay stand point. Killers are barely getting safety pips if the survivors are extra bad and all 4 die off without putting up any sort of a decent fight. Think about that for a second. The killer is punished for not baby sitting the survivors so that they play a little longer.

If your only argument is that it's not fun then killers have the same to say about all sorts of ######### survivors have/do. But if/when that gets complained about then survivors argue it off as "optimal gameplay" and that "Killers just don't want us to play the game", often times even denying it outright by saying that nothing they're doing is actually wrong/broken. However anything that killers do is considered toxic, unfun, bad etiquette, ect.

Double standards are always so fun.

  • What the hell is this post? You're literally saying that it's not fair that you have to do extra work or get better at the game, and then you start off the post saying that you don't want to hear those answers because you know that's what people are going to tell you and you think it's irrelevant. Bruh. What the hell is your rank? Hours?

Not sure what game you're playing, but even as low as purple ranks you have people eating through ruin and STILL completely gens. At red ranks they sometimes choose to ignore it until they've completed a few of them. Even when they don't eat through it it's still far too common for the totem to get cleansed barely even 2 minutes into the game, there's even plenty of times when it gets cleansed in under 1.

Though if you want to talk about toxic we could sit here and talk about all of the super toxic survivor perks.

Even if you don't want to hear it the answer remains the same. Get better at the game.

  • His catch potential involves positioning while cloaked and using the movement speed buff from de-cloaking to get hits in. It's not bad gameplay, it just needs more work.

That's why I suggested some changes that I think would fix some core problems.

  • "The most hated thing by the majority of the DBD playerbase." You immediately lost me. Who is this "majority"? Do you mean the minority sub group of salty survivors who don't like to play against things that can actually beat them?

I've never heard killers complain about her. Infact I'd bet money that you aren't going to find killer mains complaining about her. Any time I see a good survivor, either through youtube or twitch, I never see them complain about it. Hell even the salty Rank 1's usually only focus on complaining about your style of gameplay or perk choice, but never the killer unless it was super blink nurse.

I think your idea of a "majority" is just a TAD bit, MAYBE even a smidgen, scuffed here. Your logic is also flawed. Survivor's entire gameplay routine is entirely compromised of nothing but things that Killers can't do ######### about. Survivors have always been full of crap that killers couldn't do anything about, it's just that now they can actually get punished for mistakes. Seems to me that Survivors are just used to comparatively weaker killers, and when the killers actually get something that gives them the advantage suddenly that's too OP and gets whined about constantly.

  • @WickedMilk03 said:

I think he should be able to hit out of cloak somehow if they could balance that. Maybe a charge up then be done honestly.

At that point you'd basically have a mix between legion and ghost face without the drawbacks. You'd have superior stealth mechanics which allows you to sneak up on survivors even better that ghost, doing that while also not being able to get unstealthed from survivors looking at you. Then you'd have the same anti chase mechanics that legion has without only being limited to the initial hit.

You could remove his movement speed while cloaked and also make him easier to see but then he's basically the same killer as ghost face but without the insta down mechanic.

  • Don't get caught and run decisive strike for when you do. Make sure your team is running borrowed time. Problem solved.

The objective of the killer is literally in the name. He kills survivors. It's natural that a killer would guard hooks and aim for easier kills because that's common sense, but because survivors didn't like this there has already been tools added in to punish this.

If you or your team aren't making good use of these tools then that's not the fault of the killers.

    Why has she not been changed yet? She really ruins the game in my opinion. To me she has the same issue that legion had on release being they both could just ignore survivor defenses and end the chase in a set amount of time. Not to mention she just goes through walls and objects but not some objects for some weird reason. I use to feel she was balanced because "it takes skill" but it really doesnt. I can 4k with her on pc and i've spent most of my time with this game on ps4 playing freddy legion and huntress for killer. Now im on pc and can 4k with her after getting use to controls. I dont know exactly what but she needs changes or some kind of real counter play because pallets dont work windows dont work and juking sure doesnt because of her ridiculous lunge. She makes this game so unfun and i dont think any killer that can ignore survivor defenses need to exist in a game like this. Not including pallet breaks like billy and leatherface and demogorgon {Nurse, Plague with purge, old legion}

If they ever gut survivors then nerfs to the top tier killers will definitely follow, until then though survivors can be far too strong and Nurse, Spirit, and Billy are the only hope high rank killers have to fight it out.

  • @M1lann said:

So a lot of people are asking to nerf nurse, me and my friends and i know a lot of other people hate it to play against her. I have a couple of tips: Make her 1 blink only would help, or instead, when she blinks, she is blind for survivors, like spirit. Another tip is too make her lunge like michael in tier 1, so she can't lunge at you like michael in tier 3... In my oppinion a lot of people would like these features!

    IGNORE*

There are a lot of other changes on other killers that would make them more balanced (not always by nerfing) i would like to help with that as well! Hmu if you guys want, because this game only makes me triggerd by the first game with a beautiful slugging nurse game! 😁

So basically what you're saying is that you and a bunch of the survivor friends you know don't like playing against Nurse so that clearly means she's unbalanced? Seems legit. To be fair even a lot of killer mains have definitely agreed that she needs her add ons nerfed to remove huge blink chains, but otherwise she's fine as is.

Wasn't the Killer Instict changed? As in it's not TR based, thus resulting in that add-on doesn't increase it?

As far as I know that hasn't changed. Though I can definitely confirm that the addon works.

  • @Rokku_Rorru said:

The intended purpose is to feed you information for anyone who is/was co-operating with the survivor you stabbed, Legion is a memory game I find and it's the whole reason I main them, using it to "just stab" isn't going to be effective by any means, but guessing everyones next move when paired with the right perks holds a lot of potential.

That said I'm not saying he doesn't need a buff, I just don't think you need to tunnel people cross map with the power, it's supposed to punish those who work together slowing the game down for you to make a a plan with the info you have gathered so far.

Even if you use the ultra rare addon to spot people across the map it's not going to help you though. You walk across the map and spook them off the gen, MAYBE get a stab in, and meanwhile the other person you stabbed is already mended and back on a generator.

Information isn't going to do anything for a generic M1 killer. His only niche is the POTENTIAL to chain stab people and get alot of time wasted all at once. If he's not doing that then Doctor is a far better choice for just information.
