  • cant wait for a killer to hold a surv hostage there. Just stand at the window and dont leave, because he pressed his ctrl key to often :D

And I thought after the basement stair changes that they wont go this way anymore and learned. smh

  • nah fam, slugging is okay^^

I know it's not really fun, but same goes for camping/patrolling the hook. Sometimes you have to slug, bc there is so much potential pressure that can be applied due to survs just running around me/the downed person.

Best way to counter this is to lead him away from slugs, slugs crawl away from each other and get the slugs back on their feet. A lot of surv run unbreakabill for a reason :) just one can reset your whole pressure (if used right).

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/147451/the-last-update-was-just-a-continuation-of-the-continual-decline-of-any-skill-related-to-killer

Just a question about you saying survivors get nerfed every time and killers dont need skill for a 4k, which you've stated has been since 2016. In 2018, if there were 4 gens left and one survivor, that lone survivor would have to do a gen before the hatch would appear whilst being hunted.

I think the hatch play now considerably helps survivors a lot more compared to that previous hatch play. Now it doesnt matter how survivors do, theres always a 50/50 chance for a survivor to escape even if they played terribly and the killer played well.

What would your thoughts be on this point?

This was done, so that the killer can close the hatch to start EGC. Imagine you killed 3 people, 1 gen got done and the last one is a urban blendette, just wandering around for 10 minutes straight holding the game hostage. This was a thing before EGC, believe it or not. People who got salty and went into a corner, spammed an emote to not get any crows and just sit there.

They wanted to prevent these kind of games -> EGC timer. That way the killer can end the game without relying on the survivor to show themself or do a generator.

Yes there is a rng factor to the hatch if it didnt spawned yet, but honestly I'd rather end the game and get into the next one than being forced to look around the map for a long period of time.

Btw the whole EGC is "killer sided". The early hatch + extra BP are probably the only upside (at least that I can think of rn) for survivors, everything else benefits the killer. Before EGC survivor could open the gates straight away and now they need to 99% the gates. Cant count how many times I got caught bc of these 99% doors, how many surv I caught/I died of bc the EGC ran out. Surv that 99% the gate, which you can capitalize of, is more likely than 4 survivors that cant do at least 2-3 gens.

i heard that you can still pull it off as killer by lunging over there.

they changed it that way, so survivors wouldnt be able to use the alternative path.

you dont even need to lunge^^ with tight pathing around the corner you can just jump on it

Imo this is a bad change :( I liked the harvester as killer and survivor.

They could also fix dedicated servers, but that's just a suggestion. 😉

honestly, this aint a dedicated server issue but more how the game/host works with the dedicated servers. Hit detection is calculated on the killer side, so while he swings and you activate your dead hard -> killer sends signal that he hit you -> server says "yeah thats a hit" and ur client updates the server "I used dead hard" aka exhausted. But its actually already to late.

Sometimes I get the right timing/prediction, but the killer just swings through and hits me with the "tip of the blade". It just feels like that either way (predicting or reacting) leads you to being downed. Imo increasing the time from 1s to 1.5s might work if you predict the swing so that he doesnt hit you right at the end. But on the other hand perks shouldnt be adjusted around technical issues :/

no I meant Radeon Settings, not SweetFX. I updated my post with screenshots / instructions. But I havent had the time yet to test the best results yet, so people have to either wait or try themself :)

sure you can, but I'll edit some screenshots for comparison soon.^^

  • thank you, good sir. Bc I run pop on a lot of my killers :)

But honestly these "meta comparisons" usually do not consider, that every survivor plays the same. Killer run perks that synergize with their power in some way, but every survivor is the same (except for body height, breathing & moaning volume). So if killers complain about "meta survivor perks", just look at every huntress or billy build: "every huntress runs Nurses, BBQ, Pop and Corrupt" or old meta billy "Every billy runs sf, enduring, bamboozle and bbq". Most of the time you can tell right of the bat which perks a killer is using just by knowing which killer it is.

Dont get me wrong I want more diversity for perks (therefor maybe some tweaks to weaker perks), but imo you cant compare survivor meta perks to the whole killer roster.

    Thanks dude.

Actually, I was takling about MoM.😂

old mom didnt get a stack for safe unhooks (just regular M1), but they changed it long time ago to protection hits only (while protection hits werent even working most of the time) ^^ thats why I thought you're talking about wglf :) bc wglf gives stacks for both actions (unhook + protection)

I'd always run MoM with a Styptic, its basicly a "free stack" if played right :) good build to run: saboteur, breakout, mom + wglf / BT / any perk you want

  • @sanki said:

    Sounds not bad.

BTW, have you tried that perk for hook rescuing? I mean taking two hits when you rescue your hooked teammate, what will happen, get stack twice?

probably talking about David Kings perk "We're gonna life forever"?

Yes you get 1 stack/hit on both perks. So if you're healthy, get hit close to hooked surv, unhook and take another hit, you'll get 2 stacks for both perks. If the unhooked person wont get down, you'll get a 3rd for wglf :)

Btw works as well with a Styptic Agent, but you dont get the protection from MoM if you're in deep wound state (MoM only works if you're injured to dying state).

well, its not BHVRs "fault" for these hackers, they found a way to bypass the EAC. EAC is a different company that provides anti cheat software for developers who do not want or can not deal with hackers (due to limited ressources for example or missing expertise). So there's basicly nothing we (the playerbase) or BHVR can do about it, until EAC gets an update.

There is nothing really to discuss about these hackers. Everyone is just annoyed and these discussions leads nowhere.

It's not that console players don't want cross play at all it's that we don't want to verse PC players with M&KB for a majority of games. In a lot of games, it's such an extreme advantage and with some monster rigs being able to outperform any console, especially when you've put 5x the money into it, there's just no competition. A lot of us play console more because it is a more casual experience, and in a way we want to keep it that way.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1238789#Comment_1238789

And what's so bad about the Xbox community? I know the squeaker stereotype originated from Xbox, but some of us are reasonable people. And prefer our exclusives to be games, rather than interactive movies.

This might sound weird, but there are legit PC players who prefer to play with controller (ofc its a very small %) as well as people who play on console with MKB. Other games determine the matchmaking by input (I think fortnite does this, not sure), so that MKB and controllers do not play together, but its still crossplay.

  • I remember this challenge, would have had it first try with myers (agi+iron grasp+infectious+corrupt) but one survivor decided to dc right before I could hook him (she was on death hook anyways). So at the end I sacrifized 3 people in the basement with 1dc. Next game a survivor dc'd again, so no challenge... but third try was surccessfull :)

You can go classic with a basement bubba or trapper/hag. Both are really good to defend the basement and waste time of survivors to even get there (disarm trap/crouch over them).

    good luck

I think if you sprint you can cancel heal but there’s another problem of only being able to sprint as survivor in the direction of your camera, unless you use that slider in the top right (but that’s extremely awkward to utilize IMO).

Also to reiterate to all the replies I’ve gotten, I’ve seen sone AMAZING mobile controls. The best being COD mobile, which the controls felt almost no different from the real thing minus using shotguns. Was able to drop a Nuke with a sniper, so I would say it’s pretty good if I can do that.

Yeah I tried sprinting, but for some reason it doesnt work. Got if off yesterday at least one time. Guess its some sort of bug or maybe latency thing?

Also: some wraiths do not have a cloak sound, huntress hatchet windup or spirit phasing sound etc. Checked their addons after the game (for wraith/spirit, I know prayer beads do not surpress the sound anymore, but wasnt sure if thats on mobile as well).

I tried in two emulators, including blue stacks, and it doesn't work

bc there is no x64 openGL 3.1 (API 21+) android emulator yet. You can install the game on these emulators (make sure you started the x64 vm on Bluestacks) but the game wont load.

You can probably pull it off by using the android studio with a vm for testing purposes, but I dont see a reason to use my pc to run a mobile game that runs fine on my pc :D

  • Yep its awful. I've played quite a lot on mobile as well, but dying on 1st hook is pretty common. I'm currently running kindred + saboteur, in case of a camping killer I can just force gens and do some hooks/totems (for boldness, since the killer is just going to camp).

Also those "dailies" "weeklies" etc are aweful. For killer to open the door 4 times or mori survivor. Survivor quests: unhook like 4-8 people. Opening the door as killer is basicly saying "I give up" and I even had to wait until they did all the gens to actually open the door. Getting unhooks/heals with camping killers is basicly just farming your mates at this point.

Also I noticed that there are quite a few people playing with a controller or being gods at the movement. One doc was walking, turning around and shocking at the same time (just like a PC doc) seemed pretty weird to me. But dunno, maybe he was just a very good killer / experienced with the movement.

Is there a way to not get sandbagged by mates when they heal you? Seems like I cant cancel their heal, they keep on healing me even if the killer runs straight at us. Tried to move / tap everything on the screen, didnt work.

  • @Pennywise said:

Otdz has said many times that the game is survivor sided. I can see why you have used one of his streams to bolster your point but you then go on to say killer takes no skill, which makes me wonder if you watch his streams at all.

well actually his point was, that you dont need to put a lot of effort into playing killer. Just do the least amount of work (camp/tunnel) and the game rewards you as if you played really well. He didnt say that killers in general are OP, but why should you chase people and do mindgames, when the result is the same by doing the least amount of work.

    https://www.twitch.tv/videos/599420540?t=0h24m32s

"But if anyone tells you that killer is impossible to play and even the best killers only get 1k or 2k, you show them this. Hopefully. We'll see. It's early in the experiment. This is the point. The point I'm trying to make, is that getting 4k means absolutely nothing. I've had games were I've played... well I'm not gonna say perfectly bc no one plays perfectly, but I've played very decently and I've struggled to get 1 f'ing kill."

I was once told they wouldn’t do it because people would dodge lobbies if their team wasn’t running meta perks... ugh

on dbd mobile, the perks are shown right before the loading screen. So they'd have to either disable their internet / cut connection or close the game. I think this would be too much of a hassle for most survivors. I know some surv do this if they see a mori, but most of the time they just stick with it (at least from my experience in random games lately).

  • Looks like the game spawned a lot of T/L instead of jungle gyms, thats why there werent enought pallets on the map. Imo this is better for a killer, these short loops are easier forced down than a jungle gym with short/long wall.

most of the time there is a C Wall with a pallet in that corner (instead of the T/L)

Not sure what you mean by this, exactly. Most games that work similarly have a TouchPad sorta thing for movement, and you bind wsad so thst pressing one of those is equivalent to pressing that section of the TouchPad. I had done that with identity v for a while before I had a phone that would run it. If dbd works differently, somehow, I'll accept that. Just sounds like what you're describing is exactly what works in my past experience is all.

As far as controllers, if they give an unfair advantage to everyone, then no one would actually have an advantage. Controllers are more and more popular when it comes to mobile/tablet gaming, so, really, it's more just keeping up with the future. Not everyone can have a pc, but just about everyone who can game on a phone can pick up a 8-10$ controller.

You can connect your console controller to your phone already (needs MFI support for iOS, I think all ps4 controllers support MFI and xbox controllers released after the xbox one s).

DbD mobile does not work on bluestacks bc it does not have openGL ES 3.1 (at least there is no emulator that I know with x64, android 5 or higher and v3.1). You can install it, but you cant actually run it.

I see nothing wrong with it simply because I like the stress of dealing with a mori. Just like how I like the stress of dealing with survivor's who have key's. I play both sides relaxed, until I'm presented with a challenge which is what I'm always looking forward to. I've managed to out live maybe a handful of mori's either because I avoided the killer majority of the match or I outplayed the killer. Survivor's wanna rush gens, be toxic, etc, because they are having a bad day, guess what I don't entertain them. I just say "Gg" and move on to the next match simply because every match isn't gonna be the same.

I can't control how someone else plays or their fun. What I can control is how much fun "I'M" having. I only take the game series when I hit red ranks because that's when the game has no chill!

Keep in mind that I am also very bias to my playstyle and I take a lot of things with a grain of salt in this game..., well except the Medkits and Sally's nerf which I'm still salty about

Yep see, thats also what this game is about. Everyone has different expectations to different aspects of the game.

I don't like the things that make it too easy for any side. Seeing a killer that doesnt play that well getting a 4K bc of an ebony is as frustrating as playing killer and everyone leaves with a key before all gens were done, bc you already killed a survivor (aka probably played well). Guess I'm mostly annoyed by this, bc I dont use either (moris for dailies only and occasionally green key with obsession aura addon if I'm playing duo).

"Survivor's wanna rush gens, be toxic, etc, because they are having a bad day" <- are killers toxic if they get fast downs and "hook rush"? I never really get why people say "gen rush". As a survivor its my main objective to do gens, as a killer its to defend gens and bring suffering to survivors (injure/hook/kill etc). I can see why some1 would complain about it in after chat, if survivors equipped all gen speed perks & items (resilience, prove thyself, leader, toolbox with BNP etc). But most of the time surv run just their build and get called gen rusher.

But at the end it's part of the game design, some maps are just to big for some killers to be actually able to defend gens.

Which Sally nerf are you talking about? The one with the recharge or these weird changes on PTB?

  • @MigrantTheGreat said:

They've already nerfed mori's. Before, killer's didn't have to hook you, they had to down you and than they could mori you. Me personally the reason why I say don't touch mori's is because majority mori's i've ran into the killer is just having a bad day and they use mori's as stress relief. I mean granted yeah it's unfun for survivor's but it's not like your gonna run into a mori every match

So by your logic, they shouldnt have changed DS multiple times? Bc once smth got changed (mori nerf was 3 years ago) doesnt mean that its still busted? Dont get me wrong, they still need to do smth about the ds timer. But moris are untouched for a long time.

So if a survivor has a bad day with his games, can he get his insta gen back? I mean he had a really rough time and wants to enjoy the game. Why not 4 insta gens like they were before? It's unfun for the killer, but its not like your gonna run into insta gens every game. Or should keys stay like the way they are? Its unfun for killers but its not like your gonna run into a key every game.

    Flawless logic.

    //

Yellow moris are kinda pointless (just for the mori at the end, if you actually get it...), green are okay but ebonys are just busted imo.

Dunno about the 2nd hook stage (for ebony), but maybe hook every survivor once to actually use it. So for an ebony you need to hook all 4 survivors before being able to mori all of them. If he cant get all of them at least once until all gens are done, then he shouldnt have "won" the match in the first place. Still powerful, but it requires more effort.

I don't remember the exact stats but it was that when carrying a survivor, you'd see all other survivors' auras. You know, as an alternative to BBQ & Chili. Now, you see other survivors' auras within 4 meters of yourself while carrying a survivor. That's a downgrade beyond parody.

2/4/6meters ^^ on ptb (back in jan) it was 16m, but yeah maybe a little buff would be great :)

16m is a bit too much, I think the min hook distance is like 16m each, if no one dropped an offering? Not sure

Breakable walls aren't an excuse to make loops stronger, that would defeat the entire point. You do that and now the killer is forced to break them just to get the loops back to their current state as they are right right now.

    @CrassardStreams said:

Jungle gyms can spawn right next to each other and next to map features that are basically impossible to loop. I'm against making them stronger than they already are. A good survivor can loop a good killer for a decent amount of time with or without the pallet and just go to another pallet/loop if they screw up.

These are very strong tiles already for survivors, especially ones that know what they're doing. Wasting the killers time kicking down walls should be used more for stupid broken stuff that should've just been reworked in the first place - like ironworks or coldwind.

Depends on how it will be implemented. If a killer can shut it down at any given time, it's alright. If they limit it to only while being in a chase, I agree.

I'm already happy when the strong windows are somewhat gone, so I'm good with stronger tiles. Know when to chase and when you dont. A jungle gym is smth that will be used at some point, strong windows only block off after being abused multiple times and can be used at any given time later. There is more counter play to stronger tiles than holding W, but there was none for most killers on strong windows.

I just hope to see more of this mechanic implemented into the game :)

This has been introduced in many games like mortal kombat and marvel vs capcom and it works extremly well.
