Lobby times have gotten longer again.

Its different for everyone now, so I don't know if its a region thing or ranks or something...

For me and others, its instant on Killer like in the video, sameish for Survivor. For others, its slightly better or worse...

  • It varies between people for some reason. So for you it hasn't changed as much, or got worse. But for me and some others its instant now as Killer and Survivor.

We're trying to figure out if its a region thing or something, or ranks and timezones have a play into it... We don't really know yet.

  • @HatCreature

No, I think its just an error on BHVRs part. That, or it was intentional due to some pricing dicussion when posting the cosmetic. It isn't a bug, that I can tell you for sure.

Its very odd indeed... I'm not 100% sure on why that specific skin is priced like that.

If Survivors 5 ranks apart from mine means it works, then yes, it works.

We were talking about faster queue times as Killer, we all agree that the ranks in the match making is still an issue.

  • I too am at Red Rank as Killer, think its a region thing... or its time based... or both.

I agree. Either way once I'm hooked I'm as good as dead. If I suspect a killer has an ebony mori, why would I want to go into that match knowing that I will be tunneled as soon as I'm hooked? Those matches are completely unenjoyable 98% of the time.

Its usually a loss yeah, unless you're lucky to get a coordinated team... even than, someone will die most likely.

    You're right.

I didn't initially file the bug report because I wasn't sure if it was just my experience. I also don't ever expect anyone from the Dev Team to respond however moving the post to the correct forum would have been helpful.

Thank you though for responding and I appreciate the feedback.

No problem, good luck with your issue.

    No Mither has it’s uses.

And you can actually HELP your team by intentionally making yourself a target. Provide protection for a tunnelled team mate on death hook, and when you go down that killer now has to decide to risk letting you get back up if they persist tunnelling or give up tunnelling to carry you to a hook.

No Mither is especially good against Killers like Legion (Mostly Pre-Patch, I can't say much for Post-Patch)

And it can also be good against Plague because if the sickness issue, as most Survivors will not cure themselves to avoid the omega puke.

Despite No Mither being Niche, it has its benefits to the trained eye.

@FireHazard What platform and region are you? Mochan is the Asian region, but not sure about platform.

Survivors in my lobby have been all over the regions during the day, as I mentioned earlier, but I am PC platform, east coast United States region.

Haven't tested it tonight. Am about to, but have been waiting for the Shrine update. I have BP to spend and wanted to see what was in the Shrine for shards before I commit the BP to unlocking something.

America, East Coast and EST timezone. And my platform is PC, so that should be the best example to what i'm referring to.

When you do test it, let me know in this post and i'll see what the results are when i'm back online... I don't know if i'll be on by the time you get the results as its 8PM EST already, but I will eventually get to it.

I posted about this a few days ago lemme find the link.

No one has responded from behavior after multiple attempts.

I play on PS4 and ranking is BROKEN. No emblems showing up, pips shown different in lobby vs end game screen vs hovering over your rank, getting random de-pips AND pips... it's all over the place!

    Here's the link: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/88971/is-pipping-broken-update-it-is-broken-can-we-move-this-to-ps4-bug-report#latest

I stopped updating the post because I had no response or confirmation. When I asked for it to be moved to PS4 Bug Report no one did.

If you're on PS4 also keep track on your BP there's an issue there as well...

Ok well, making a post isn't exactly going to get an answer from the devs all the time... If you want a solid source to get an answer from. Than you'll have to bring it up with the support team and they'll assist you there.

    Again, here's the link: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us

They will give you an answer, its not instantaneous, but they will respond and give you an answer to your question. This is the best I can do for you in terms of assistance, as I'm not a mod or a developer... So I can't do more than direct you to people who're linked to the devs.

  • I also noticed that, literally nothing is different if you have a item or not. Even his counter-part has different animations when she has an item...

    An odd thing indeed...

  • @Mochan said:

For the record, my survivor lobbies are back to 5 seconds so I'm a happy camper.

Killer lobby still 5 minutes. So matchmaking did nothing for me.

Seems it was just the time of day I guess. Asian killers must have been asleep.

An odd turn of events indeed. In-general, I suppose we won't fully know the origins as to why my match-making is insanely faster than for example yours...

Well, we won't know this today. In the future we will...

  • The offering by nature is unbalanced in the first place, as it takes a Survivor out of the game after 1 hook...

For the sake of a full blown discussion like the other thread... I'll agree that an Ivory mori is immensely more fair than say an Ebony, because an Ivory only Kills one Survivor, as an Ebony kills all Survivors after 1 hook.

But I will say the mechanic IS unbalanced, regardless of me agreeing that a Ivory is less severe... So is a Ivory, or in-general a one Kill mori fair? No, but its more fair than say facing an Ebony.

I'm tired of the fact that every killer I encounter with a mori tunnels me hard after I'm hooked once. Not getting a heads up isn't going to change that.

Neither is getting a heads up going to either...

It's the Killers play-style to tunnel you, that's not really gonna be changed by a mori sadly... I guess they're more inclined to tunnel you BECAUSE of the mori I suppose?

  • @SasukeKun said:

It goes without saying since this post started that we've discussed so far that it seems that more than just it being a "secret" is an issue

We're just giving our opinions and suggestions to you on why you ARE getting gen rushed, and that gen rushing is very common, even if the Killer doesn't have a mori. You were gen rushed because of the mori, plain and simple. But gen rushing doesn't happen just because of a offering solely, it can happen because of a situational experience in a Trial, or its a SWFs, or a well coordinated team.

The term "gen rushing" is just the Killer not applying enough pressure to a team. So the gens a perceived as being "rushed" to the Killer. Your argument is that because of the gen rushing, that the secret offering warning shouldn't exist to avoid the gen rushing... If you wanted to avoid the gen rushing... wouldn't you just not use the offering? Which is the center to attention to why they're gen rushing you in the first place... because they don't want to instantly die after 1 down, instead of the standard 3 hooks per Survivor?

    @MoriMeDaddyTrapper

To report an issue, you need to bring it up to the support team by filing a ticket and giving a detail description of the problem. Using proof such as video, screenshots, etc. Would help the team sort the issue out much faster.

Here is the link to file the ticket: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us

  • @Mister_xD

Like you said yourself, the algorithm eventually will catch up to them and give them what they deserve. But when it comes to people who're aware of the mechanics, and actively abuse them and state that in end game... is it OK then?

Regardless of how the system works, if you feel they're abusing the mechanics of the game and that they're actively telling you that they're being sore losers about it... Than you can easily deduce if its OK to report them.

To be honest, even if you report them off of the DCing the alone, its still OK. They'll just be aware of the player, and tell you what you stated above. If you want to report them off of the grounds of "unsportsmanlike conduct" since they actively are telling you why they DC'ed and that they think you "don't deserve the win" or something, than by all means go ahead.

Its all personal opinion, but personally I think you're fine to do it man. You just need to have a open mind about how the system works, which you seem to already have. So you're fine.

No, I agree that moris are broken. I was referring to the OP. They are complaining about survivors being able to prepare for the moris, when the killers can easily prepare for toolboxes, swf, flashlights etc.

I don't know what they're complaining about at this point, from what I gathered from the original post... they don't like being gen rushed by people when they use a mori?

I mean, people gen rush Killers a lot... even if they don't have a mori. A mori just makes it more likely to BE gen rushed because nobody wants to be taken out of the game after their first down.

Yeah, currently the Demogorgon is my main so hopefully it won't be THAT long but I'm loving the Surge and Surveillance combo so I'm kinda discouraged to go for shred downs.

Have you tried Thrilling Tremors + Surveillance + Surge? Or just Surge + Thrilling Tremors?

It prevents people from just gen tapping the generator and preventing the insanely harsh regression while also monitoring if they were tapped after the Thrilling Tremors proc.

  • @arslaN said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/710307#Comment_710307

No, what I was trying to say is that killers can see what items survivors have and they can also somewhat understand when they are playing swf. The killer can easily prepare for survivors so why is it a problem when survivors know the killer has a mori?

Because like I said, by design, being instantly killed by a offering after being hooked only once... is unbalanced.

How could you disagree that it isn't a problem when facing it as a Survivor? Not every team is gonna flawless the Killer with zero hooks...

  • @SasukeKun said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/710307#Comment_710307

It's not unbalanced because there's players who can outsmart and gen rush, and voice chat their way to victory without getting hooked once. You need to get caught to be killed

By design, getting instantly killed after 1 down is unbalance, in every sense of the word...

  • @SasukeKun said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/710292#Comment_710292

Okay but for all other killers it's a punishment to bring mori both sides lose cuz emblems and it's stupid

Ok, so why bring it in the first place if that's the case? If you gain nothing from it, why was this post made?

The post was to argue about removing the secret offering warning right? Why would they remove that offering? so people can have fun finding out if their game will end instantly or not... That's not really fun don't you think?

The mori is broken, no matter what. If you get gen rushed because you have a mori, that's because the Survivors are trying their hardest to not have the game abruptly end because of a broken offering.

  • @arslaN said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/90215/make-moris-unpredictable

I'm really getting tired of the same omega blink ebony mori nurse that you have to endure as survivor because the killer knows what's coming. It would be nice if they didn't and I can not have my chances cut in half because they get a warning.

You'll still know its a mori because of the secret offering... Who uses the cloak? If you have a secret offering on the board, its 95% a mori, and 5% the cloak to either troll or something.

The offering is unbalanced regardless of what you do with it tbh. If mori's should be in the game for some reason, they should just remove the Ebony Mori and keep the other two, at least 3 people won't be instantly killed and only 1 will.

I just don’t understand why players complain that survivors have broken add-ons and perks when the most broken things in the game lies on the killer side. Play Spirit and Nurse with their best add-ons and a mori and tell me how many gens get done. A good Nurse will never lose and all Spirit has to do is open their ears and listen. They literally crush any SWF team. Suspect an SWF team? Switch to one of those two. If you are even somewhat decent at the killer I can guarantee they won’t win.

I guess because I have played Spirit for so long that I’m immune to what survivors bring into the game. You have an insta heal? That’s cute. You’ll get downed in about 20 seconds.

I think its the stigma also. If you've played for thousands of hours like I or you have, than a insta-heal or gen rushing toolbox or a insta-blind flashlight doesn't scare you anymore.

The flashlight is kind of because the whole mechanic was heavily nerfed, but the rest is because you get so used to them that they hardly do anything anymore. Granted, none of us are gods, so they can help you as a Survivor. I'm just saying that the whole "fear" about these add-ons, and other things are just common fears people face when they're getting into the game.

When I face a insta-heal, I instantly just think in my mind "Oh, another hit then?" if I face a gen rushing toolbox user, I think "Oh, so you want to die faster?" Like, I wont tunnel these people, but they'll be noted to watch out for. Even if I don't know they have these things, it doesn't really effect how I play anyways.

Now, if you face say a semi-decent Billy with all those add-ons and a mori, you'll probably die because a instant chainsaw to the back of the head doesn't feel good... Or if you face a GOD Nurse, you're literally done for even if they don't use the OP add-ons or mori, those things are just "putting salt on the wound" if you will.

  • @Cornpopers_Evan said:

It's probably because I'm on console but boy am I awful at aiming shred so that achievement is going to be awhile.

Shredding, or in-general powers like Nurses and Billys, are for sure 100% better and probably meant for PC. It makes sense as, I rarely hear about a pro nurse on console, which can honestly be a good or bad thing depending how you look at it.

But you'll eventually get it despite this limitation with a controller, it'll just take a bit more practice as the mechanic is definitely meant for a mouse to steer.

  • It was still buggy and a mess before they changed it.

All they did was change the name, and some tweaking... That's literally it. Its still broken, and a lot of the mechanics in the regular game don't work there.

  • @MegMain98 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/710182#Comment_710182

You’re forgetting that killers can do pretty stupid things as well. Pair Prayer Beads, Omega Blink, 5 blinks, Iridescent Head, or Insta-Saw with an ebony mori and you win.

Sure survivors can have syringes but that’s all they’ll have against a mori. Most likely they won’t get to the end of the game so Adrenaline doesn’t matter and DS doesn’t matter either with a mori.

Both sides can have stupidly powerful things working in their favor but honestly certain killers are more favored. I don’t care how good the SWF team is. They won’t win against double purple add-on Spirit or Omega Blink Nurse with a mori. Just not gonna happen.

Facts, and it kinda sucks that this is true. Prayer beads just makes doing generators a paranoid players nightmare, and Omega Blink Nurse with a mori is literally a death sentence if they know how to play Nurse...

Even if you face a Billy with Insta-Chain saw add-ons with Spirit Fury + Enduring and a mori is just walking onto the hook...

  • No problem, good luck with the Switch version man. Hope it goes well.

I actually think lots of people sleep on the rat liver add-on, it's actually surprisingly good AND its common but I agree. Demogorgon now seems like it's in a perfect spot, at least in my opinion.

Fairly good spot yes, if they decide to buff him more to make him Top-Tier, I wouldn't be against it at all.

Since... who wants to see Nurse and Billy as the most used Killers forever huh? And yeah, Rat liver gets slept on, even by me a little. But that's mainly because when I cleaned inventory for his prestiges, I used the Rares and Ultra rares mostly...

He's P3 for me, and now he'll be P3-50 soon. He would've been P3-50 on the first 2 or 3 days of release if I was really into it like I used to be with other Killers when they dropped like Legion, GhostFace, etc. But I was slackin, so this guy took 5, 6 days ish...

But hey, I got all his achievements on day one so that's something! The only one I didn't get on day one was "Denied!" because unless you have 30 perfect games with the hatch found by you every time... Lets just say that isn't possible with how much time we had.

  • @SasukeKun said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/710192#Comment_710192

It's not 1,2,3 click to rank down to 1, even if you die to pip you need to have done pretty much everything but escape and its not a breeze all the time

You do generators, and loop the Killer semi-well. You don't even really need to loop them well.

If you do the basic fundamentals of what a Survivor does, you'll pip up or at worse you'll black pip. If you de-pip as Survivor, than you did hardly anything during the Trial.

  • @Cornpopers_Evan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/710150#Comment_710150

So, really, only two of the purples are actually really good because yeah, 1 second just sounds so blah.

Lemme think, the only good RARE add-ons is like... Upside Down Resin, Unknown Egg, Red moss, and that's really it...

Vermilion isn't worth it, 1 second really doesn't mean anything. And Life guard whistle is like, situational at best? Cause they need to actually walk over the rifts, or interact with them to get the exhaustion effect.

Also, the other Ultra Rare, Leprose Lichen, is literally only useful if you have the Survivors in your line of sight when traveling between rifts. You can actually see people in the rifts if you have Nurses, so if you regularly use that perk on Demogorgon, that add-on is worthless.

That add-on is niche at best if you don't use Nurses on Demogorgon, so its meh. The best thing about Demogorgon, is that its one of the few Killers that can actually do pretty well without ANY add-ons. So even if you use the worst add-ons like Lichen and say... Life guard whistle... and you know what to do as Demogorgon and Killer in-general... you'll still do fine, and the niche add-ons you put on might help POSSIBLE...

  • @SasukeKun said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/710178#Comment_710178

If everyone's getting there it's because they are getting carried by a real SWF team of red ranks

No... its because eventually if you play enough games you'll outweigh the loses with pips, you don't need to survive to actually pip up as a Survivor...

And you only really need to moderately do well as Killer to get a pip up. It used to be where you could just get double pip like every match, now it takes a bit more effort to get a pip, and you need to get a perfect game to double pip as Killer.

Survivor is still 100% easier to get a pip with the least amount of effort exerted in a match.

  • @SasukeKun said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/710166#Comment_710166

That's where we start to talk about how stupid some of the killer vs Survivor mechanics are right now when it comes down to a group of people who know what they doing which is usually red ranks that are streamers etc, people with thousands of hours of experience that dont play ONE side with an opinion

Yet, not everyone at Red Ranks has thousands of hours, or is a streamer, or is coordinated. Yes, the minority of players get there because of how the algorithm works, but eventually it becomes over-saturated and the line beings to blur.

Tbh, when they add that new rank system that pairs you with people of your skill set, than everyone will be at their own pace. And I feel like that's going to be a pretty cool feature (Hopefully they didn't bail on it...)

  • @SasukeKun said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/710130#Comment_710130

"Its mainly to get a challenge in my matches that Green and even Purple doesn't really offer..."

You're missing the point of my post, it was to touch up on why you or anyone thinks Red Ranks is a measure of skill.

It isn't a measure of skill because of the point I just said above, anyone can get there given a week to so. I said its a challenge BECAUSE that's where the minority will be, if the minority wasn't there, and I got no challenge from Red Ranks (Which I kind of still don't because of the point I said above, people still get there that're not really coordinated)

Than i'd still be at Red Ranks, because that's where the system brings me during the season. I wouldn't stick around at the lower ranks where the challenge is, because of the problem with... you know... not bullying noobs. Which I prefer not doing, because that's not really fair and its pretty mean to do to someone who's just getting into the game.

  • @TWiXT said:

Moss increases it to 10 seconds, Vermilion webcap adds 1 second. so the total you get is 11 seconds of undetectable. It's better to pair red moss with Unknown Egg if you want to mildly counter the recovery rate penalty.

Couldn't say it better myself. Vermilion webcap is kind of bad anyways, which I wish it wasn't because its a purple add-on.

A fair bit of the purple add-ons are bad on demogorgon, but no Killer has perfect add-ons in the rare category, so this is to be expected.

  • You get there regardless if you want to or not, even if you're the worst player at the game. Despite the changes to the system, its still easy to get there. So is it by no means a measure of skill, as anyone can get there given enough time.

I said it gives me a challenge, because that's where most of us will end up after a week of rank reset anyways. Not all of us wanna stick around Green Ranks... unless you know... you're doing other things that're not looked at in a good way.

  • @Mtom912 said:

    A) disregarding peoples opinions unless they’re red ranks

    B) Thinking red ranks actually mean anything when it’s extremely easy to get on both sides

1000% fact. Ranks really don't mean anything, even when they first came out... Its mainly got to do with how there isn't a reward for staying at Red Rank, but I do get there for another reason.

Its mainly to get a challenge in my matches that Green and even Purple doesn't really offer...

It's really annoying too as other people are Ranking up no problem lol I went against some 19s and 17s already so it's an issue that's being picky if it's an issue at all.

If you want, you can file a support ticket to see if they have any info on this. It could be specifically for Switch, or it could be a well known issue. Either way, they'll let you know.

    Here's the link: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us

  • It actually doesn't make him OP because of the buff, it just makes him more viable at high level play.

I for one welcome a new Top-Tier Killer to the game, but at the moment hes more Mid-Tier. Hopefully we'll get more development as time goes on with Demogorgon, as he is the first beast Killer after all... And playing him can actually be pretty fun!

Maybe, if I keeps happening I'll report it and hopefully things get sorted out. Day one after all, I suppose there are bound to be some issues.

On Switch? Yeah, from what I've seen right now its kind of been iffy since it came out today.

I'm sure the kinks will be sorted out as time progresses on there.

  • So... don't use moris if you don't want Survivors to try their hardest to not get downed by you?

Like... Isn't that the point? To avoid being instantly killed in the game by an unbalanced offering?

  • I haven't experienced anything like that, Switch just came out today so... Maybe its something specifically happening on there?

  • @Kilmeran said:

@FireHazard I've also been checking steam profiles (not something I usually do) and noticed survivors from the U.K., Sudan, and Asia quite often.

Out of 5 matches, for a total of 20 survivors, only two were United States. Three were Unknown. The other 15 were U.K. or Asia, with a few from Sudan (different matches, so not SWF).

    Interesting.

  • @Kilmeran said:

@FireHazard Oh, the queue times don't bug me. My killer queues are always like that during the day, which is why I tend to play at night. At night they are 2-4 minutes.

I included it for context since I tagged Peanits. I'm getting my Rank 18 Killer lobbies with Rank 12's and 11's for survivors, which is a +6 to +7 rank difference. I mentioned the queue times incase that was a factor, as in after that long it just keeps expanding the matchmaker to grab what it can along the Rank chain.

The queue times definitely are better for some than others, I think its a region thing or rank thing.

  • @Kilmeran said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/709950#Comment_709950

@DeadByMemelight @Peanits Same here as a Rank 18 killer. Queues are now around 10 minutes, and I'm getting anywhere up to Rank 12 and Rank 11 in my games. Granted, they aren't good Rank 12's and 11's, but that is till a +6 and +7 rank difference.

Isn't Grey Rank usually the one that gets the longest queue times though? Since most players that play are usually Yellow or above after a week or so of rank resets.

  • @DeadByMemelight said:

Seems to be the same on NA in purpe ranks. Killer queues take a long time, and survivor ranks are all over the place.

Perhaps its a region thing like what @Mochan said, or it could be a rank thing also. Cause it's been awhile since rank reset, so a fair bit of people should be at red or purple by now...

I can't exactly pin-point why I have better queue times than some people here... It seems to be good for some, but worse or slightly better for others...

That's actually a better idea, @Zeroday go try it out. I'm sure you'll find someone who would more than happily give you some pointers and show you the ropes of thy dead by daylights!

Good luck with it, I hope it goes well!

It's still nowhere as bad as the 10-minute queues I used to suffer as killer a year or so back, at least.

Don't even remind me of those... Yuck...

@FireHazard thank you and I'm on that right now

Good luck with it man, hopefully they'll be able to catch him for this.
