  • I mean, yeah... It should... I don't see why it wouldn't.

  • It's been the same for 3 years so I doubt it'll ever been changed.

I've never had them ask me any questions after but my ticket was about a loss of auric cells not a loss of progress

It varies between tickets, I suppose if the ticket was a question about something, they'll ask again if you have any other questions.

If its a loss of progress ticket, that's different.

No, that they don't answer, as i said above " But it was just 1 simple question. Submiting a ticket is the place to get help in need, not to answer questions, for that, we have the forum."

They are the support team, who answers questions is the community team Ex: Peanits

They actually do answer questions if your problem is solved, they ask if you have anymore issues when the main issue is resolved. They've done it in the past and i'm sure they'd do it again if I had an issue to submit.

A random conversation about nothing, and a question isn't the same thing. I don't think you understand what i'm talking about for some reason so never-mind.

I wrote a few tickets to them. When the queue is not full, or at least high, you can make some short convos with them like.

Example: I lost my progress 2 months ago. The problem got solved and then I asked a general question, they also answered the question. But it was just 1 simple question. Submiting a ticket is the place to get help in need, not to answer questions, for that, we have the forum.

Either way, maybe you don't get answered by a bot (in some occasions there is no need to have a person answering you) and they answer you (they're not obligated to).

This is my experience with tickets.

That's not what I mean, what I was talking about is a full blown conversation about many things besides questions. I'm guessing they don't answer those because they have better things to do and other problems to solve for people and their tickets...

How long should I wait ?

If they're working on it, they should give me an answer.

    This isn't mine. Their problem

    I'm so sorry too

It takes as long as it will, there isn't anything you can really do to increase the process. You'll just have to wait, I can't give you an exact time it will take because it might take awhile because of other tickets that're ahead of you.

  • @Cattt01

As Peanits has said, your ticket is just one of many to be answered at this time. Either they can't give you a solid answer and they're working on it, or it hasn't been seen and dealt with yet.

You'll have to wait a bit longer, sorry.

  • @bearsupply

Anyways, what I stated as the last comment to what you said is definitely what you're experiencing unfortunately...

And that's something that I wish I could assist you with but cannot... You'll just have to endure it until you get higher in the ranks to mitigate this issue.

  • @blue4zion said:

That's nice, I'm just playing switch games while I wait for my 2 hour killer lobbies :')

It seems to be a region thing, as well as rank thing now to who is getting better queue times overall...

So no, its not something everyone is experiencing.

  • Yes, I like that the queue times have improved over all for people as well as the SWF change that will prevent people from bullying lower ranks, and overall making them feel discouraged to play because of such toxic behavior.

    BUT

I have to say what's on some peoples minds. The "rainbow rank" issue is still prominent throughout all ranks, and players are still being pinned up against lower ranks players at high ranks, and higher ranked players at low ranks. This issue by no means has changed and is still a prominent one that plagues the match making...

Also, despite queue times being improved for people, some have actually had worse queue times now... or slightly better. So the "improved queue times" only applies to some or a majority of people it seems... I have instant lobby's now as Killer, and at worse 2 minute ones as Survivor, but that doesn't mean others are also experiencing the same thing sadly.

@FireHazard Archives sounds interesting. I highly doubt I will buy the Rift battlepass, though. I did that once in Paladins and once in Realm Royale, and found out that I don't like them. It hits the gamer trigger in me where I feel a need to play a particular game more than I usually would; since on what time I have I like to play different games like DbD, Overwatch, Identity V, Roblox with the wife and little man, et cetera.

I'm not one of those people against battlepasses, mind you. Many people like them. I just don't like feeling that need to play. It's the same reason I finally left WoW. Paying that monthly sub hit that trigger in me, I realized.

And it's one of those cases where I know it's happening, and yet either give in to it or get a nagging feeling like I wasted my money, no matter how small the actual dollar amount.

Depends between people if its worth it to them or not. Whether its something you want personally is up to you, for others they'll buy it regardless out of support or because they want the benefits.

Either way, people will still buy it. But battlepasses are not something i'm really focusing on, its more so the new Ranking system and Archives.

  • @Avocet

That's naturally how the match-making is set, it matches you with people of your Rank and if there is nobody from your rank to make a lobby with, it takes longer to find people that're higher up in the ranks.

Its to compensate for the loss in activity in one rank by putting you win another, it also can be different for people from other regions of the world. So for you it's that, but for him it could take awhile to find anyone.

  • @Kilmeran said:

@FireHazard Yep, I have a pic of that roadmap saved.

I might screw around on DbD mobile along side Identity V when lounging on the couch, but I won't spend a dime on it. Same with Switch. Until there is cross-progression like Hi-Rez does with their games, I won't touch DbD on a second platform. They got the MSRP and DLC costs out of me once, momma didn't raise no fool. I'd be willing to pay a second base game MSRP, but I'll be damned before I pay for DLCs again and go through this asinine grind a second time. I'd rather be castrated with two rocks.

I don't expect anything significant to happen with Ranks until around May. My gut tells me it's going to take until the very end of the Year 4 roadmap as the image shows.

We'll just have to wait and see what happens, only time will give an answer.

  • It doesn't do anything sometimes, people still power through it. it's only good for taxing people who can't consistently hit great skill checks....

Sometimes, people waste time looking for it which is also a bonus. But thanks to a lot of new perks these days, you don't really need to rely on the perk anymore... Unless it's a Killer like Trapper or Hag that need time for set-ups, or Myers who needs time to get Tier ll at the start.

  • @Captain

I've discussed this with others before on this exact issue... It seems this has actually been an issue for some other players as well on the Switch, it seems the Switch is currently having a rank issue... Because I haven't seen any other reports on this outside of that console.

So yeah... it seems to be a switch thing... Try filing a ticket about the issue to see if they can give you a solid answer on whats happening over on the Switch.

They'll learn eventually that not everything will go there way and i hope they'll realize how rude they are being and they stop

Only time will tell my friend.

  • @bearsupply

The reason they were instant is most likely because when you were having these matches, the DLC was about to or just dropped. This created an influx of new players swarming the game to play the new DLC, and as such they've already gone up the ranks and have gone past Ranks 20-17. Which is Grey Ranks.

So in turn, it actually makes clear sense as to why your matches are not instant, and are taking a long time now. Because all those players are not at that bracket anymore, or there are hardly any there anymore. And since your region is EU, and the timezone plays into it somewhat... you'll especially experience a long time to wait for lobbys.

When I was in Grey Ranks, it used to take me 15minutes+ for lobbys back in the day when I first played this game... This isn't any different for you, and since we're also pretty far into rank reset, that also contributes into the issue... (For context, rank reset happens every time on the 13th of every new month... So its been a fair bit of time for people to rise the ranks out of Grey, and not be there anymore)

So in turn, its not a bug or anything, its just that the ranks are Grey are fairly dead at the moment in your region. That's why it takes so long to find people, its because your region for Grey ranks is dead... and that the new match-making algorithm came out literally yesterday also... so some people are experiencing either instant lobby's now, or increased waiting times.

You seem to fall under the category of increase wait times sadly, but that could only be because you're at Grey ranks, which is currently dead in your region... I can't say for sure if the higher ranks at your region is also taking a bit of time to get lobby's. I do know for sure that for Red Ranks there, it shouldn't take more than 5 minutes or so if that's the case.

You make the best of every situation. If some people can't accept that than well... Maybe this game isn't for them I suppose. Not everything gets fixed or goes their way at the snap of two fingers.

Some people will always be rude to others, its just their nature. Especially in customer support, these things tend to happen.

That's okay- we know what it's like to be sitting there waiting for a response. People typically don't contact support just to have a conversation, it's because something's not working and you need us to fix it. I totally get why it can be frustrating.

People have conversations with the support team?

  • @Peanits said:

It would make me a big sad on some maps like the Hawkins lab. Get caught up top and you're guaranteed to take damage. The only way out of that would be to get to the bottom of the stairs before the killer shows up, and that's just not an option. You'd have to be 200% immersed to survive that.

But more importantly, it would probably just feel stale. Going upstairs is basically out of the question, you would only ever run the ground floor loops.

Imagine playing on a map like Hawkins, or Coal tower and you're being chased by a Trapper, only to jump off the side of the building to have your kneecaps shatter and be put into the dying state...

I think anyone would be omega sad after that one...

  • @bearsupply

The way the match-making system works is that it will pair you up with people that're the same region and rank as you, if nobody from your rank is making lobby's as Killer or joining them as Survivor, than it'll take an extended amount of time before it can find people that're above your rank.

It also applies to people in the higher ranks, but the opposite where if it can't find people that're in the same high ranked bracket, it'll pair you with people below that rank.

No in your case, you're on the most active platform in the eu with GMT timezone, I forgot to ask your rank but we'll just say for the sake of continuing this conversation that you're in Grey. Now, if you're in Grey in that region during 3:05PM, which is the afternoon when people usually get off work...

You'll usually have issues finding people at this time in your region ESPECIALLY if you're in Grey ranks. If YOU'RE Grey rank ranks (Which is rank 20-17) than you'll have the hardest time finding a lobby due to not many new players being at that rank anymore since the new DLC dropped a few days ago....

You'll eventually find a match, it'll just take a fair bit of time at such a low rank that hardly anyone is in... Once you progress in the ranking system though in your region, you'll get matches much faster. If finding matches persists with how long you're experiencing, please do write back here to let me know in the future.

But as of right now, with where you're at... this is to be expect. If you're not at Grey rank (Again that's 20-17) please reply and let me know.

On PS4 for m getting games on both sides pretty quickly, but the matchmaking is still FUBAR! I've seen players from every rank bracket today, it's just as bad as it has been for months.

The queue times have improved for some, like you and I. For others it got worse or slightly better.

The rainbow rank issue is still an issue... Nothings changed on that.

  • @bearsupply

What platform do you play on, whats your region, your timezone, and what is the longest time you've waited?

I need to know all these before I can answer this question for you.

  • @Kilmeran said:

@FireHazard At first blush, I think it'll be a combination of both. The dedicated servers might give them more freedom with the matchmaker algorithm, data analyzing it, and adjusting it.

But the rank rework (assuming it is done well), should fix things beyond that. Especially if Killers are given separate ranks per, because then you'll have a single Killer player spread-out across the rank pool. They'll be Red on their mains, maybe green on others, and then starting in grays or yellows for killers they're just learning.

Reminds me a bit of the new Role Based SR in Overwatch competitive.

I strongly think that BHVR needs to drop resets with the rework and do season placements, instead.

Well if you see here from this AMAZING EDITING SKILLS!

    image.png

Our next stop is the Tentative of the new Archives, than a bit after is the next Chapter with no map.

AFTER THAT, than we're going to go into the part of the roadmap that's focusing on the Rank Rework, as well as the Mobile Version with the next Chapter. So we're getting there in terms of whats to come.

Dedicated servers will come around any month now, but there isn't a confirmed date due to push backs to perfect the system. We don't want something that isn't complete... so they're perfecting it.

  • @Boss said:

But let's not forget it says "Tentative" below the Archives.

Meaning it is the current release date, but let's not be surprised if they're not ready yet by then.

Judging from the road map, now coming up to the next Chapter, a long with the mobile version. THAN the archives, and with that map reworks and POSSIBLE the new ranking system (Which is my favorite part to come...)

  • @Kilmeran said:

@FireHazard Exactly. I mean, in pretty much every PvP game I have played (except for Battle Royales, since they just toss anyone and everyone into a match), unless the game is massively populated like Overwatch once was at its launch, you'll run into one of two things:

    1) Matchmaking the has to toss a bunch of different skill levels together here and there.

    2) Consistently long queue times.

And often, #1 is used to mitigate #2, because one thing that will piss a playerbase off more than a wonky match set-up, is having to wait too long for a match.

Gamers, in general, are not a patient bunch. I speak as someone with game industry experience. Hell, even knowing that, a long queue time will irritate me, too, and send me to another game.

Gamers in-general have no patience, that much is true...

Perhaps when dedicated servers roll around we'll finally have something to end this issue... That, or when the new ranking system they're throwing around comes out.

  • @TheGhostFaceMain

Also, one more thing after reading that giant wall of text (Or skimming through it I don't blame you...) When you're on the map, there are common tiles that spawn on every map that you'll want to get yourself familiar with....

These tiles are very common, and are likely to be the ones you'll want to know the most about. For a comprehensive guide on it, I can direct your attention to this video to familiarize yourself with these tiles. It covers all the basic ones, and even some advanced ones like Killer Shack.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6QYjInzLeM

All rights are reserved to the original poster of the video of course. Please watch this video if you want to better understanding of how all the maps work with tiles, and it'll also help with looping them.

  • @TheGhostFaceMain

Think about it from my perspective as a Killer main. When I face Survivors, my thought is to instantly try to mind-game them at loops that have walls that they can't see past, and small routes to the pallet.

This allows me to moonwalk around corners and fool Survivors into thinking I doubled back while in reality I actually am still going in their direction. You can also do this at half-walls but it usually only works at shortening their loop.

Now, with this knowledge, think as a Survivor. You want to always go to loops with long paths around the pallet, and while most pallets usually only have mid or small paths, you can still utilize this effectively... though, for small loops its a shorter time looping them. When you're at a loop with a very small path around the pallet, don't try to extend the chase with mind-games... As they can easily punish you for it.

When you're at a loop, its also good to know that when the Killer is close enough, that you can try to fake drop a pallet. This is when you just stop at the pallet for a second when they're close, and than just continue running. This makes them think you're dropping it to avoid the pallet drop, but in reality you're just extending the loop... You can also do this by just hugging the wall when they're close... as most Killers will just think you're dropping the pallet on them at the end of the loop.

Always pay attention to the red stain (the red light Killers give off) this will allow you to know where they're going at all times. But at higher ranks, some killers will abuse the red light to make Survivors think they're going around the loop when in reality they're still going in that same path they're chasing you in to get a hit off on your mistake. When a Killer is about to swing at you, you'll see the animation before they lunge where their arm is raised up, use that to your advantaged to know if they're about to lunge at a loop or not. It'll let you know if dropping the pallet is the right time or not.

You need to be aware of this, and always have a decent understanding of where a Killer is when going around corners. If you know the Killer does this, instead of doubling back to the other side, you should take another route away from the loop to confuse them.

Now for dead hard, don't use it as a means to avoid a hit. Think of DH as a means to extend a loop. DH should be utilized only when you know the Killer can hit you at a loop they mind-gamed you at, or if you know you're not gonna make it to a pallet, that you use it to get some distanced to that loop. Don't try using it in open spaces, or to run into the Killer and use it... Because they'll easily just do nothing and than hit you right after.

Also, if you're at your end of the ropes when in the open in a chase, they'll try faking you out to use it before hitting you. So unless you can find another loop to extend the chase, theres nothing else you can do in that scenario. As they'll either just wait till they're close enough to fast swing at you, or make you waste the DH by just following you until you use it.

Sigh. Guess it is what it is for now.

Sadly. It's basically just something others will have to deal with, while some have no issues at all now with queue times.

I'm thankful that I was one of the people to get these instant lobby's, but that doesn't really help the rest of the community now does it?

  • @Incurable_BOFA

Never mind than, it was a archive thing that's on its way still.

    My bad.

I’ve been having somewhat slow times to find games on both sides (Purple Survivor, Green Killer, Play on PS4). Queues take around 5 minutes usually but there’s various factors that make it longer on the survivor side specifically.... which is why I’ve played more killer games over the last few days.

Because of past queue times as Killer, it was the opposite for me on PC, where i'd play Survivor because waiting 5minutes+ each time took too long in my mind...

Now its insanely better for me as seen in the video, but... for others not so much. So it varies for people in regions and platforms, since I'd imagine console usually has it worse than PC since most people who play DBD are on PC (I think)

  • @Kilmeran said:

@FireHazard That's what I was assuming it was doing yesterday with the disparity in ranks. Fortunately, even the +6 ranks above my own were not an issue. I don't know if they were boosted from the bugged MM or what, but those Rank 12's and 11's played the same as Ranks 20's and 19's I'd faced.

Hell, last night the Rank 10 got sacrificed first. And the Susie didn't camp or tunnel, either, which shocked me. My 9-year-old went down third, and I went down last just as I found the hatch. Susie beat me to it by like two seconds. 😂

But we actually got four gens done. The 9-year-old and I did about 2/12 of them ourselves.

Then again, I'm not really unknowledgeable of the game, I just don't have a ton of play time so get rank reset back down fairly low, especially when I have to take a month or three off of the game (except maybe 20 hours a month) due to having back-to-back manuscript deadlines.

What I didn't see since the change were the purples and reds in my lobbies like I did during the MM bug.

Its rarer to find Reds or Purples being paired with Greys or Yellows. Its more common for Reds and Purples to be paired with Greens at the moment...

Its not impossible to get a Yellow or two though as a Red Rank Killer, I literally got one on the third match... It just depends on how long they waited for the MM to just give up and say "You know what? Here, take any Killer... have FUN!" basically...

Which is one of the main issues MM has, that and the queue times which have improved for some now, and got slightly better or worse for others. Its definitely better since it was just everyone who had bad queue times, but not its only a few people because of regions it seems...

Going off of statistics though for average queue times, that's still bad...

  • @ABannedCat said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/711632#Comment_711632

I included the time it took for everyone to join, and ready up in the lobby.

Ah so its an average you're giving, I see. If that's the case than yeah, its definitely worse still.

  • Just another faded memory to be implemented later on, or never...

I think it wasn't added because the idea of having charms on your hook was weird after enough thought was put into it... Or something?

  • @ABannedCat said:

Its definitely better with the last patch, but it will never match the times of instant-lobbies we had back then. Search for queue, be in a game in less than 2 minutes max for both killer and survivor (unless there is lobby dodging involed). I miss those times.

But... Isn't having a queue time as Killer like me under 30 seconds better than that? As seen in the video...

Same-ish for Survivor, its 1 minute or at worst 2.

  • @Kilmeran said:

@FireHazard So, last night I did a duo SWF with my 9-year-old who plays the game. He's Rank 20 and I am Rank 18. We had a Rank 15 and a Rank 10 pop in. I asked if they were a duo, but they weren't, they were each solo.

    Killer was rank 16.

If you average 20+18+15+10, you get 15.75. Which you'd round up to 16.

Seems the MM averaged our survivor ranks.

It also just grabs anyone who is available at the time during the search. So you could also get low ranks or high ranks because of that, its due to people who're not your rank are currently playing Killer/Survivor.

This is common at Grey Ranks, where... Especially Killers... don't stick around there for long, so you're mostly going to be paired with Yellows or Greens, or AT WORST you could get a Purple or Red because of how bad the system is with that at the moment...

Despite these fast queue times for me now, I still sometimes get low ranks when I'm a Red Rank Killer. So for example, I had 3 matches during the first few minutes of this post. 1st had all Reds, 2nd had 2 Reds and 2 Purples, and 3rd had 1 Red, 1 Purple, 1 Rank 16, and a Rank 12.

So it varies depending on who is available I suppose, or who is fast enough to get into my lobby. BUT it also depends on how long that Survivor has waited, so if the Rank 16 and 12 have waited for... say... 10 minutes, they'd instantly get a lobby with any Ranked Killer because there isn't any Killer available at that time at their rank OR its because the system isn't working correctly to give them Killers that're at their rank.

  • @Mochan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/711603#Comment_711603

Just an update. That red lobby? Was a deranking AFK killer, so he was probably watching something on Netflix, that's why the ping was bad. Was also a Rank 12 killer, way below my rank.

So I'm thinking there aren't enough red rank killers playing in my area at this time.

Possible, but if that was the case the system would set you up with a lower ranked Killer eventually. Which probably explains why you're having longer queue times... Its looking for Killers in your Region to pair up with, that're the same rank.

As for DCing, that is a common issue that many people work around currently. Because of how the system works, you need to meet a threshold to be banned for DCing enough times. I can't really describe what they do exactly, but i'm sure you can figure that out yourself...

My point is though, eventually when dedicated servers come out, we'll have a more intricate system to punish people who work around this system.

@FireHazard Just did another match and had two from Brazil, one from Sudan again, and one from U.K. This was after 8pm EST, so my thought that it might have been a day time MM issue was just eliminated.

Possible, but I think we're pin-pointing that its more so about regions and timezones for when a lobby is instant or not.

In regards to the rainbow ranks, its confirmed that all of us still have this issue sadly...

And my Survivor Queues are long again today - took me about 3 minutes to get a lobby, and it's a red ping lobby. It seems my queues are time sensitive now. There are peak hours and famine hours.

This was never a problem for before; I used to be able to get a survivor game pretty much instantly for almost all the time I've been playing for the last year.

BUT.... since yesterday I got back into the red ranks. Maybe my survivor rank factors into this.

For you its timezones cause of where you specifically live, perhaps it is a region thing... Because I was getting fast lobby's that entire day, regardless of what time it was.

Well it's never been more than 30 seconds until they implemented the "Killer doesn't immediately create the lobby" thing, from which it then became 2-3 minutes.

It went back to the 30 seconds after Demogorgon came, but is now back to 2-3 minutes.

    So personally it got worse.

There's people who got it way worse of course. 😥

It still doesn't make sense to me on why its specifically targeting certain people... Because for me, it got WAY better and that was something I was begging about for awhile now... That the queue times were just so long and boring...

Also that the rainbow rank thing was an issue, and still is... Even after the hotfix, so that's still something we all face...

If you're gonna suggest to nerf mori's to be only on last hook, then what's the point of even bothering to make animations for each killer's mori?

I never suggested that at all? Did you read what I commented...

I was just half-agreeing that Ivory's are fair, because in comparison you'd rather have one unlucky person get killed than everyone get killed by a Ebony... Like, its still an unbalanced offering, but in comparison to an Ebony, its more tame.
