The Clown already uses a butterfly knife... kinda... not really.
But I get what you mean, a Killer with a butterfly knife that's in their base-kit and is their gimmick. Personally, i'd like to see a type of gun as a weapon. The issue with a gun though is that it would be incredible OP... especially with how this game is structured.
That's why I will never expect it to show up on a Killer lol. Maybe something like a claymore or a medevil Killer would be cool.
-
If you know how to reproduce the bug and or know about what happens with the bug... than please do submit a bug report in the "Bug Reports" sub-forum so the devs are aware of this issue.
Here's the Bug Reports sub-forum link: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/perks-and-add-on
I linked you to the specific section you'll want to report this in (Perks and add-ons). Follow the instructions above in the big red box in that specific section... it'll tell you how to format your layout for the report.
-
You seem misinformed since nothing about this was revealed to the public. If it was, than it would be in a niche category of people by now... but it isn't... so it must not exist.
If it does, than you can try contacting support and see if they're aware about this... otherwise, I doubt this issue ACTUALLY exists since nothing has been said anywhere about it (as far as i'm aware).
Here's the support link: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us

Queue times differ depending on your rank. It suggests that they will be longer when disabled... but that isn't always the case when you're at say... Rank 20 (Grey Ranks) or Rank 16 (Yellow Ranks).
If you're at those ranks... than your queue times will usually be very long since we're VERY VERY late into rank reset. And by late, I mean the next rank reset is in 3 days...
Don't be surprised if say... you have to wait 10-15minutes per lobby at Yellow or Grey Ranks as a Survivor/Killer... this is expected at those ranks.
But!
If you feel disabling cross-play is causing this, than you can re-enable it through the settings menu (the place where you disabled it in the first place). There, you can press on the box next to it and re-enable it by checking off the box with a check mark.
Try closing the game and re-opening it (if you didn't already do this before I send this reply) and if that still doesn't work than try contacting support through the link I will be providing below.
Here's the support link: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us
If it still doesn't re-enable than submit a ticket with the support team so they're aware of this issue. It should re-activate when you click on the box, but if it doesn't than either what Fibijean said above is the issue OR if it still doesn't work in the main menu than do submit a ticket.
-
Go where Fibijean suggested please, this is so the devs will be aware of this issue and can fix it for future patches.

This happened to us. We managed to somehow get all of the generators on through teamwork really fast.
Killer D/Ced us.
None of us got any bloodpoints. Isn't that kind of unfair?
I don't care about them, why did the game punish us survivors?
Sadly that's how the system works with Killer DCs.
I guess the Killer is compensated in-game because 1 Survivor is minor when compared to the Killer. You should've also been given your BPs you earned that match.

@OldHunterLight said:
Thank you, but regarding the queue times on pc, survivor queue times are next to nothing like 5 seconds tops after readying, killer queues are usually like 25-40 min on gray ranks.
Thank you again for answering.
It depends which side has more to work with. It seems there are more Survivors to pair with at low ranks atm... but not many teams or Killers are joining in.
That, and you could be teaming with higher ranks while Grey Rank Killers struggle to find a ALL Grey Rank Survivor team to pair with. As such, the match making searchs for higher ranked Survivors. This is why the MM takes longer sadly...

Yeah, that was my thought process, because some people consider those quotes up for interpretation and would prefer a clarifying statement from a developer. Here's one I found from Peanits:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/694/MMJSVCA76AG4.png
Also sorry for the delay, I forgot and was busy with other stuff.
Thank you as always Fibijean!
-
It's definitely because of your low rank, without going into too much detail... ranks like Yellow and Grey naturally have really bad queue times for both sides... plus we're really late into rank reset. By late, I mean in like the next rank reset is in 4 days.
Many people also want Cross-progression with the speculated cross-platform coming to console. (This isn't 100% confirmed and no official statement has been made on it yet).
Who knows, if enough people ask than it might happen... it might already be coming with crossplay (if it comes to console)...who knows!
-
It could be an issue when tabbing in and out. If you don't do this when the game is loaded up... than it could just be something else.
I don't exactly have a fix to this, but I can direct you somewhere that can help you. The support team has probably heard about this issue before and fixed it in the past (possibly idk), so you can try to submit a ticket to them and see what they can do.
Here's the support link: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us
As for an answer to this comment directly from me, I have not really heard much about this issue personally... this issue seems rare OR gets fixed pretty quickly in some way or another by the OPs. From what I could quickly search about this issue, some people have said it could have something to do with your task bar not being hidden or something in-game... I've also had this issue a few times, when it happens to mean though I just click the windows icon on the bottom left corner and than re-click the DBD tab on my task bar to get it into full screen/remove the cursor
While that isn't EXACTLY what your issue is... it could be linked to it possible. This isn't a guarantee though, so don't really expect it to do anything.
If you're out of options or nobody else can comment here with an answer... than please do submit a ticket at that link above and wait until they're able to assist you!
-
Well, for one muting the entire audio in-game is an option... but than you'll have no spacial awareness outside of looking around and could easily be snuck up on.
It would be as if you're playing against GhostFace in NightShroud... but every Killer has Zero Terror Radius because there is no sound. The issue with this specific question is that audio plays a rather BIG role in-game as a Survivor... it also plays a minor or major role (depends how you look at it) as a Killer as well... since without audio you won't be able to hear if any injured or healthy Survivors are nearby. The chase music for Killer is not much different than the chase music as a Survivor, but it really does depend on how you look at the audio difference from both sides.
You can try going in-game and head to your audio settings. There, you can try turning down the master volume to NOT turn it off all together, but lessen the audio. This would make the chase music less... "intense" for your friend, since the audio is a fair bit lower and not as "in their ear."
Other than that, you can't specifically turn off the chase music i'm afraid. These are your only options for your friend if they really can't handle the chase music in-game.
Sorry.

Unlike things like character portraits and perk icons which is a "do it at your own risk" scenario because it doesn't affect actual gameplay, sound is a key feature of DBD. Editing the sound files in any way would therefore likely come under "[attempting to gain] an unfair advantage that wasn't intended by the game", which would most likely get you banned.
Basically, it's not okay to modify any game files which affect the actual in-match gameplay.
That's also true, I didn't think of it like that.
What he's doing isn't exactly gaining an advantage in-game, rather it's a means to helps his friends anxiety. But it could be seen as one and still is tampering with actual in-game files that are used in LIVE matches... this is very different from say, a list of character stagnant portraits that're only for show.
This is actually something used in-game in a LIVE match. I suppose we can still wait for Mandy or Peanits to say something about this though, unless they're busy of course.

No need, it says plain and simple from the link he provided.
"All Challenges and their rewards will remain playable. However, Rift Fragments will no longer be available as rewards from this Tome."
But please do provide those as well if you wish, I can use them as source material if anyone wants an official statement from one of the devs themselves... in comment form.

To someone who comes back to the forums with 10+ notifications each time, two from the same thread can be quite annoying, much less two from the same person asking the same question they could have answered themselves.
I could not have answered it myself since I wasn't aware of that site you linked even existing. I gain my information from here, the official DBD twitter and affiliates, the official DBD wiki and other such sites with factual information as a 2nd hand source, and official videos made by BHVR themselves.
It was an honest oversight on my end and i'm glad you're able to inform me of the correct information, this is so I can inform others with 100% factual information or direct them to others that can give them said information.
Of course though like above, we can all make mistakes on what we tell others... i'm not a robot and I can't always cite every little bit of information to keep on record... that's why it's good that others can correct this information for me and vice versa so everyone is informed on the solid facts.
I'm sorry that this was annoying for you, and I can see why... but making it out to be something as if I spammed you say... 10 times instead of only @ing you twice is... not really fair on my end. Again, I appreciate the correct information being given to me, but i'm not a wizard. I can't always find every bit of information that someone is asking for AND I can of course overlook some things as well.
We're only human after all.

I am referring to the current active TOME 1: Awakening with the four levels: I, II III IV. Sorry I am not too familiar how they are currently described. I am still on Level III
Right, but he still didn't really give me a statement on if they do give Rift Fragments after a new Rift is made or not...
@SilentSpectre Please do provide that information, as I would like to get my info right for the next time this is asked. (The part where Tomes will not give Rift Fragments for every new Rift that's made... I've never seen that being said anywhere UNLESS I missed something).
-
I don't know if editing a comment with a newly added @ will actually @ you to this post... so I'm just gonna make a new comment with both the @s to make sure.
Sorry if this @s you both to this comment twice.
-
In the past, people have asked if editing the portraits of the Survivor and Killers roster list ALSO could get them banned...
BHVR has stated many times that this isn't bannable through them. BUT! They've also said that you should do this at your own risk... mainly because you CAN be banned through Easy Anti-Cheats systems... and if you're banned through that system (Which is an automated system that isn't controlled by BHVR...) than BHVR doesn't hold jurisdiction over un-banning or appealing it... since it wasn't issued by them.
This means you'll have to contact the owners of Easy Anti-cheat to appeal the ban.
Now, this case is quite different... instead of editing the portraits of your Survivor/Character list... you're trying to edit in-game audio files. While I don't think that's possible at all and I've never seen anyone do it... if it WERE possible than you would most likely be having the same issues above. This scenario would be a similar type of "do it at your own risk" thing. It's also unknown if BHVR approves of editing in-game audio files, so we don't know that either.
This question has never really been asked... and if it has, I've never seen it asked anywhere.
The point is though
It's unknown if BHVR actually bans for that too... since you're tampering with in-game audio files to change the heartbeat. Unless a mod or dev responds to this, than that part is unknown.
But I can say if this WERE possible and if you DID do it, than you'd be at risk of getting banned through Easy anti-cheats systems... it might be a small risk as some has said... but you can still get banned through EAC. If you do (if this is possible), than you'll have to appeal it through EAC and not BHVR... since BHVR doesn't hold jurisdiction over what EAC does.
For the sake of solidifying this answer, i'll @MandyTalk and @Peanits to see if they actually would ban you for editing the sound files. If they don't, than this would be another case of "do this at your own risk because EAC might ban you" thing.

It wasn’t being unlocked without boosting before, it’s unlocking now and that’s what the patch notes also referred to. Doesn’t need an official statement.
The one on the current patch notes is completely different from the one the OP is asking about.
You kind of do need an official patch notes to know if it's 100% working... or if the OP magically says they got it through normal means... that also works too.

Please clarify what you mean by "subsystems." Do you mean the requirements that your phone will need to play DBD mobile?
If so, the only thing I could find about the minimum requirements is this video at the end.

It may. Neither you nor I is a BHVR developer, so we don't actually know what they do and don't do, or what goes on behind the scenes. Given that we have no actual evidence to suggest that they don't regularly accept and consider player feedback and suggestions, I choose to take their word for it that they do.
Of course OP shouldn't expect the devs to respond immediately and enthusiastically, but neither should they expect to be ignored entirely, because it is actually the case that the Community Managers frequent that subforum and read the suggestions that are made, even if they don't always have the time to respond.
I understand the sense behind tempering expectations, but I don't think they need to be quite so tempered as you're suggesting, based on what I know of the developers and CMs.
Everyone deserves a chance at least, I can't say everyones ideas are 100% implemented or even looked at... but a chance is a chance.
That's what a chance is, you throw what you have out there and see what happens.

Obsidian color/texture, yes it's cool.
Obsidian as in the rock, not really only because it's not believable. Obsidian is like glass, and you can't really make a weapon out of it. I've seen images of knives and stuff but they are more for show than for use because the moment you use them it would flake or shatter. The only type of weapon you can make with obsidian rock is a club with obsidian shards embedded in the edge. It's called a macuahuitl, and it's more of a club type weapon than a slashing one. It's similar to Oni's Kanabo, or a baseball bat with nails in it.
Most Obsidian blades or knives are mostly crude anyways...
I don't think it's possible to make an Obsidian blade in a more... "polished" look. I mean, glass can easily be formed but not really sharpened or polished into a fine blade like say... a Katana or a Claymore or something.

He probably changed it...
If he didn't, I still said "It's the same button you use to repair generators..." implying i'm talking about their version of PCs M1.
And yes, the M1, R1, L1, whatever it is for PS4, Xbox, etc... is the button you also use to open and jump into the hatch! That's why this either sounds like he wasn't using the right button OR most likely his key was glitched... which can happen sometimes.

I already did. You said you never get hit by it, I say you either don’t play enough or you get potatos.
Not that, the other things I mentioned... here's a quote.
"If I humored it had counter-play than it was still worse than post-nerf DS. Post-nerf isn't seen more than pre-nerf, post-nerf barely works outside of being tunneled or hiding in a locker, post-nerf doesn't activate everywhere and anywhere you're downed outside of being unhooked previously AND being tunneled, post-nerf can easily be circumvented by the exact thing some people hate hearing "don't tunnel."
People say that because it's true... if you don't tunnel a Survivor with DS than you'll barely EVER be hit by it. Before, you'd be hit by it anywhere and everywhere... it was seen more often AND was the most used perk for any Survivor in-game... you'd never see anyone not use it outside of their build UNLESS they wanted to change things up..."
You still didn't mention anything from that, unless I missed something. Also, explain how you can down 1 Survivor who unhooked the other previously unhooked Survivor in under 60 seconds... and than go after the unhooked Survivor (somehow finding them) while also downing AND for some reason pick them up? If that's the scenario i'm thinking of than it sounds like you want to be hit by it or something...
Also, I don't get potato Survivors every match, I do this to Red Rank SWFs/Coordinated teams and it still wastes their time to go and pick up that Survivor who was slugged.
Also also, my playtime is 1,449 hours and I'm always at Red Ranks in every season i'm active in... I've never not been in Rank 1 when I was in a season I've been active in. None of that matters though, because you don't need this many hours and these ranks to know what i'm talking about.
-
Sadly I will not always be on to answer questions... especially 40 minutes AFTER I left to go to work today. So sorry about that, but since nobody answered your question while I was gone... than I shall do it!
anyways, onto the answer
The information you most likely saw this on was the "DBD Wiki." The DBD wiki is always up-to-date and constantly updates and adds new information from new patches and DLC!
If you're finding your info anywhere else... than I cannot say the same for those sites. Anyways, everywhere I looked says it's capped at 24 meters with Open Handed...
Open Handed adds 4/6/8 Meters onto your aura reading perk... and since Kindred is a aura reading perk, this effect is increased from 8/12/16 meters to 16/20/24 meters with the max tier of Open Handed.
The question is kind of vague though... since 24 meters is the max meters you'll get out of a Open Handed + Kindred combo. It caps at 24 because... that's the max meters it'll get...
But, you could be talking about 4 Survivors with Open Handed and 1 Kindred... in that case it isn't fully explained anywhere why this was done, but people speculate this was done to prevent Kindred from showing the Killers Terror Radius from say...
48 Meters from the hooked Survivor... it could be abused in some instances. And that combo on a SWFs would be insane btw...
-
It's the same button you use to repair generators... so I assume that's "L1"
Sometimes though, the key gets glitched and doesn't work until you drop it and pick it up... that's most likely what happened to you... unfortunate indeed.

Survivors don’t have to waste time. The slug recovers, gets tapped and then is up- minimal time lost. Your other points are also false. There have been countless instances where I have run into another survivor who was recently hooked and not whom I “tunneled”.
So you downed the unhooker in under 60 seconds and than magically found and downed the previously hooked Survivor... and than picked them up for some reason.
Why?
And yes they can recover by themselves... they still have to get off their gen and get them though, I.E. wasting time doing so.
Also please explain how my other points are false before automatically denying them :) I'd love to know how they're wrong...
