well if that's the case it's so boring i'll not even try for it, i'll just probably get it randomly at some point during an extremely unfair match (against a rank 20 or something)

That's how it's mostly gotten anyways, if you actively try and get it than of course you'll have a better chance.

But if you just ignore it's existence, than you'll probably get it randomly.

Lag switching is considered Unsportsmanlike conduct, and is put under that exact section in the Game Rules post as a result. I'll give a "quote" below of this section in the Game Rules post.

    UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT

    • Botting
    • Lag switching
    • Disconnects (leaving the match before killed or sacrificed) - DO NOT REPORT
    • For both Botting and Lag switching, in-game reports are REQUIRED / Customer Support ticket OPTIONAL

Most, if not every report requires an in-game report and an optional support ticket. In the case of Lag Switching, it doesn't list video recording as a mandatory thing, so i'd have to say no in your case. Screenshots and/or Video Recordings are mostly optional, despite this though, they're very helpful and they can solve an issue a lot faster sometimes when presented with hard hitting evidence of the offence.

So to end it off here, i'd say no, it's not entire necessary for you to record lag switching in-game. If you'd like to still do so, than it's of course beneficial for solving the issue a lot quicker, as video evidence can speak volumes on a certain issue, especially if it involves a player actively gaining an advantage in-game.

Here's the link to the Game rules post for further review if NECESSARY

After every PTB's launch, BHVR gives a 2 week rough estimate for players to prepare for the LIVE version.

This Chapters rough estimate is March 3rd, so it's either on March 3rd or around that time. If everything goes well, it should be on that day.

  • @Fengmin200

    No, it doesn't reset.

Once a Survivor is "fully stalked" they can no longer be stalked to recharge your Evil Within meter. It should also be noted that stalking two Survivors at once will make your meter charge a lot slower, and that it's best to stalk Survivors in moderation in-case you find yourself Killing an un-stalked Survivor and you're left with Survivors that're "tapped out" in terms of charging your meter when stalking them.

If you'd like to stalk Survivors a lot faster, than use items like J Myers Memorial or Memorial Flowers to do so, Michael Myers best combo is Hair bow + J Myers Memorial, since J Myers Memorial gives a moderately faster charge speed and Hair bow gives a considerably longer duration for Evil Within Tier lll. I wouldn't recommend Lock Of Hair, since that add-on reduces your charge speed moderately, which cancels out J Myers Memorial entirely. It also gives a locker duration, which is beneficial... but gets out-shined with how versatile Hair Bow is.

Basically, the higher the duration add-on, the longer you need to stalk to get Evil Within lll. Hair Bow is an edge to this since it only reduces your charge rate Slightly, while also giving you a Considerably longer duration for Evil Within lll. That equates to +30 seconds for the default 60 second duration that Evil Within lll has, according to the DBD Wiki.

the reason why i thought it had nothing to do with the dedicated servers, is because usually you can kinda tell when there is latency in the game. during these certain matches where it looks like i should have made a grab, there hasn't been bad latency any where else during the game play.

I don't remember anything like this before Dedicated Servers rolled around, and from the looks of it, nobody else does either. So the logical thing is that the DS's is causing the issue, just like the issue with Dead Hard when DS's was new. I feel both of those issues are quite similar.

All in all, BHVR is aware of the issue, so we might see it fixed in the future... maybe.

    Thank you for the advice.

Yes I know that, i'm just telling you that I don't think doing it in a Custom or LIVE match is still ok, especially a LIVE match. And if you were looking for information on how to do it, despite not looking for an advantage, than nobody here can and will tell you for obvious reasons. If you weren't, than don't worry about it.

    Also, no problem.

  • @Kagari_Leha

As Fibijean said, it's more of a poetic description than a literal one.

I believe the challenge is mainly asking you to not get hit once in-game or downed once the entire match and Survivor, since that's how most people complete it. No Mither doesn't really add anything besides a challenge, since the achievement is specifically asking you to not be injured/downed the entire match and Survivor.

I'd recommend using a stealth build for this, something like Urban Evasion, Lithe, Dance With Me, and Quick and Quiet. This is a Houdini Build combined with Urban Evasion to give you more chances to hide. If you need a Survivor that excels at stealth, than use Claudette or Adam with his Charcoal Jacket, or just any Survivor that has brown or dark clothes that blend in with the overall colors of most maps.

You might as, why is this called a Houdini Build? Well, Lithe lets you fast vault a pallet for a 3 second sprint burst, Dance With Me removes scratch marks for 3 seconds as well while running, and Quick and Quiet lets you go into a locker fast to hide from the Killer and effectively... "Houdini" them by "vanishing". This works the most when in maps that're in building or just anywhere that has walls to hide behind while running away. But for this scenario, you'll need to use it intelligently, somewhere like in Jungle Gyms or in the Asylum itself while running into a locker soon after.

  • @samir9698

As said many times it depends what you like and if you're into a Asymmetrical 1v4 horror game.

On one hand, you have a variety of content to choose from with many different Survivors, Killers, perks, maps, and powers, and you also have much more content coming with every new Mid-Chapter and/or Chapter that comes out in DBD.

On the other hand, you could be deterred from how the community acts in Post-Chat sometimes, but I can assure you this isn't how every player acts in-game or on the forums here. Some players are naturally "toxic" while others are helpful and supportive.

It really depends on if you can handle using different Killer powers, getting used to the layouts of the maps, getting used to playing Killer and/or Survivor, making builds that center around your play-style, have an RNG based system with the Blood-Web, enjoy difficult games like Dark Souls as mentioned above, etc. Dead By Daylight has a lot of variety since it's inception in 2016, so you have a lot of interesting, fun, and challenging options to choose from when playing Killers, using Builds, etc.

You can mix and match perks you enjoy, add-ons and items you want to use, and Killers and Survivors you prefer and like. Every Killer and Survivor has a main, so you can also find that special character that you enjoy playing as the most in-game.

at the end of the day though...

The choice is yours, if you do decide to play than i'm sure you'll have many options to choose from, but whether you buy the game or not is entirely your choice to make.

Look up some videos, maybe some Twitch Streams, check out the game if you're still skeptical. A lot of content creators are on Youtube like Otzdrava, OhTofu, Monto, etc. They'll give you some insight and an in-game perspective of how the game is. You could also check out some Twitch Streamers like OhTofu (Again), Scoprionz, Morf (I think that's their name...), TallerToast, etc.

A lot of check out if you're still skeptical.

I think this is pure bullshit how you guys rather bring out DLC to bring in more players but won't fix the game mechanic I'm a graphic designer and I bet you if I learn how to work unreal engine and learn how to code C# or C++ I bet you I can make a better game then this ghetto piece of trash game

I mean, would you rather have stagnation with the overall content of the game? Or a hitbox change that isn't really MASSIVELY needed at this time?

The hitboxes are working as intended, but of course sometimes this is questioned due to hitbox size, weapon hitboxes on shorter weapons, window vaulting, latency issues, etc. I may have listed some things there, but those are just some common things that Survivors and/or Killers face from time to time. Here, i'll even give explanation to those things I listed below.

    Weapon hitboxes

For example, Freddys Claw is memed to be a lot longer than it should be, but this is because his hitbox was extended to line up with every other Killers hitbox. So from a Survivors perspective, his hitbox is A LOT longer than it should be, but it's actually just as long as Myers, Trappers, etc. It just looks disjointed because of how short his weapon is, the same goes for Killers like The Hag.

    Window vaulting

Some Survivors and Killers notice that they should've hit a Survivor that vaulted over a window... but they didn't and instead hit the rim of the window itself.

This could be because of various things like lunging too late, auto-aim acting up, or the Survivors hitbox extending out before your lunge hit it. I find this one funny because a lot of window vaulting will still get you hit anyways, which a lot of Survivors have said and shown in video where some hits shouldn't have hit... but they hit anyways.

Some examples are at the Cranes window in Azarov's where the Killer still hits you despite your character being in mid-fall, or other things like like that. It's hard to say what causes this, latency, hitboxes reacting to the vault, etc, but it's not really that big of an issue if you know how to effectively use windows.

    latency issues

This one is of course not intentional, so there isn't much to say on this. Latency issues happen randomly and it's either caused by the Survivor/Killers connection to Dedicated Servers or the overall ping being too high.

Of course this will make some loops unfair, since lagging in-game or having latency issues will cause some wacky things to happen.

  • @BreadGoddess

It depends on many things, queue times can be longer or shorter depending on your rank, your region, and your time of day.

Your Region and Time of Day tie together sometimes, so if you're in a region with work hours that you play in, than the queue times will naturally be longer as a result. If your Rank is low... like say Grey or Yellow Rank, than your queue times will of course be longer as well, since not many players are in that rank/stick around that rank, especially this late into Rank Reset (Which for context is every new month on the 13th.)

They're looking into a Rank Rework to fix various issues like the queue times, Rainbow Rank issue, and various other problems that the old ranking system has on the match-making as a whole. So yes, they're of course always trying to improve and create solutions to the queue times and especially the match-making.

For more information on the status update for the match-making will be linked below

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/124795/status-update-matchmaking-changes#latest

  • @bomb1720

No, it's just the same as using a regular mori with the same prompt, the conditions are just different and that's about it.

Rancor allows you to down the Obsession once all Generators are activated. If they're the last Survivor with 1 Generator remaining than they still can't be mori'ed until all Generators are complete. Once this condition is met, Rancor gives the Obsession the Exposed Status Effect, the option to Mori them, and one last 3 second aura reading on every Survivor is given.

Michael Myers Tomb-Stone Mori is completely different, it lets you mori Survivors that're health or injured. If they're downed than they can't be mori'ed and you also need to chase and hold M1 once the "Kill" prompt shows up when close enough. His mori is completely different from Rancors or any other Mori, in that it's specifically tied to his power when the add-on is added.

I would like to do something like this on a customs match rather than a normal lobby, i had never intended to gain advantage on an online match using this exploit (especially since if you join a lobby with more than one killer in a public match your bound to get entity displeased) i was thinking something more along the lines of playing pig together with my friends and just messing around

A Custom Match is different than a LIVE one, but I can't just tell you that the exploit is still ok in those conditions, neither can anyone here tell you how to do it for literally the most obvious reasons.

I'd just ignore it and move on, it's not something that was intended to happen and I doubt it's something that'll be implemented in LIVE or KYFs in the future.

  • @bomb1720 said:

it has been happening to me in the last couple of days, idk before then cos i just started to get into killer again. i'm sure it has nothing to do with servers either.

    edit: i'm on ps4 too

Pretty sure it does have to do with the servers and the overall latency that happens from time to time.

I don't remember either if this happened before Dedicated Servers came out, but when I first played this never happened at all. So it's either something from before DS's was added or it's a side effect of Dedicated Servers, just like how Dead Hard was affected by DS's before.

I don't know, if you just ignore it you'll hardly notice it exists anymore.

A few seconds before the game loads isn't really the end of the world...

The cooldown is an extremely unfun and boring mechanic added to her. I have never had a problem with her fatigue, because it acted as a more organic cooldown. It feels natural, and good. But now having a cooldown added ontop of the cooldown is just frustrating. You are forced to walk at 96% movement speed, watch the survivor gain distance on you, and you are completely powerless.

I think because of how strong the power is, it's entirely necessary for two cool-downs to be put on each other.

This maintains the original concept of her power and doesn't require an in-depth rework to the overall design of the blink mechanic. Is it fun? Not entirely from what I've played and seen. Is it entirely necessary because of how strong she's, even in base-kit? Yes, at least if it's to maintain the original powers concept.

  • @dizbruhlikesthering said:

I personally don't think she needs a buff, since she still is a very powerful killer if played right, however i really feel like she needs to be more fun to play. Having to look down in the floor 90% of the game takes away all the fun there is for her. I honestly just think she should be reworked completly IMO.

One thing at a time with the reworks, if she was reworked it'd require another power to give her or just fundamental changes to the overall concept of the blink mechanic.

I can agree that it's fairly hard to learn her if you don't have prior training, and going into fatigue can be sometimes boring, but if you do learn how to play her than she can clean house pretty quickly. It's one of those Killers that rewards practice with amazing results, practice that takes awhile though. The issue with Nurse is that if you put in work, she'll give back amazing results. But because of how difficult it is to learn her, especially if you're new to her mechanic, the losses she'll bring discourages people heavily, hence why most of the community has abandoned her now... unfortunately. If they haven't, it seems that way from what I've seen.

  • @JackShap

The old Nurse was fundamentally broken and mostly unfair for mostly every player BESIDES Survivors that knew how to counter her.

She's still a power house, but she's far less used due to how hard it's to learn her for beginners now. She was always difficult to learn, but now it's a lot harder for players trying to learn her. I could state many reasons why I believe she was fundamentally broken, but that'd be unnecessary. A lot of players before the nerf can agree that The Nurse was really, really difficult to face if she was decent or especially pro, she's still difficult to face if a Nurse in 2020 has learned to overcome the nerf.

The nerf was necessary, at least in my eyes it was, but if you still want to learn her and go pro... than you'll still be a big threat if you put the time into it. It's kind of like waiting for a present after 10 years, after all that wait you'll finally get your prize (The prize being the skill you gained from all that training).

I could go on, but i'll end it with this

No, I personally hope she never gets her base-kit back. For the Survivors sake, and to actually mix up the top Killer spot after such a long time. I main Killer (insert meme), and I can even agree that she was really busted to face and/or play if you put the time into it.

The nerf gave her solid counter-play, and a lot of people could argue that she did already have counter-play... but that requires a lot of practice against Nurse, which was rare to see since even the Killers that used her got bored after awhile.

How different, though? It said it includes false Support Tickets, but both of them go to the same team if I'm not mistaken, so although you're correct in that it's not 100% confirmed, I think it would be a reasonable assumption to make that the same applies to in-game reports.

I wouldn't really find interpretation in something like that Fibijean...

If it doesn't explicitly state that false in-game reports are bannable, than it isn't bannable. Why would it be bannable anyways? A False report is just ignored all the same, since saying someone tunneled for example is clearly not a bannable offence, so as a result it's ignored.

A Support ticket is very different, you can manipulate what you say to gain an advantage in the ticket itself, which is why it's taken very seriously when people make false support tickets and actively lie to the support team in them. An in-game report is more disposable, it's very limiting in what it can say and can easily be reviewed to confirm if it's true or not. If someone reports you for tunneling, and knows it's not bannable, than what's the point anyways? It'll just be ignored and the only one who wasted their time was the false reporter.

It doesn't say anywhere that a false in-game report is bannable or warnable, so why would it be interpreted as otherwise? Yes, they're handled by the same team, but they're two completely different systems that're managed in separate ways. If it is bannable, it should say that at least. But it doesn't, so it's not as far as I or anyone else is concerned.

  • @Joelwino said:

Have the hitboxes for grabs gotten smaller? what would've been a gen grab a while ago no longer counts and only registers as a normal hit.

That's not a hitbox change, that's just a latency issue that happens sometimes in-game.

When a Killer presses M1 to grab a Survivor, and that Survivor lets go of the M1 button at the exact same time, it'll sometimes cancel the grab animation and instead revert to a normal M1 basic attack.

It doesn't have anything to do with hitboxes.

  • @shumkill42 said:

I may be reading this wrong lol but when a killer really outplays me I'll write him gg "good game" no disrespect. Or we win but killer kept it close same thing. When I run killer, if a survivor outplays me or it's a good match I say gg. Does that mean something else

    Not... really?

Saying GG is universally a sign of respect in most games, or it's just to be polite. When players say "GG EZ" they're playing off of that universal sign to twist it to something else, hence why it's seen as rude.

In this game, saying GG is especially common now and has become a staple of Post-Chat in DBD. So saying GG when you win or lose is just to be respectful in the end. Some players might take it as "acting smug" but that's left to interpretation at that point, which is where some fights start.

  • @Oicimau said:

    Tks, @FireHazard.

As much as i play in ps4, the offenses on chat are handled by PS Network rules, and im pretty sure that reporting had no consequences for him.

    I have 3 rules:

1 - complain but be polite, i will explain things and why i did something, and we will be friends

2 - be rude, and i dont answer, block the person and leave the chat (this is the "GG EZ" situation)

3 - be offensive and/or agressive and i say "offense reported", report (meanwhile they use to throw more offenses cause i said i reported), block and leave the chat

And there is the fourth situation:

4 - be friendly and we will be friends!!! My preferred one and the reason i dont block everybody from sending messages, cause there are a lot of good ppl out there. :D

I wouldn't really say that you reported them, that just ensues more harassment as a result.

It's best to just report what you believe to be reportable (upon reviewing the Game Rules) and move on, telling them they're reported doesn't really add anything, if anything it's instigating them to continue.

  • @Fibijean said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1125674#Comment_1125674

You must have, because you quoted it. "Penalties include suspension of your support services, up to a permanent ban of your in-game account."

This was for False Support Tickets, which is different from In-Game Reports.

The entire part that mentions this is strictly about Support Services. If it also meant In-Game Reports than it would've mentioned it.

  • @Fibijean said:

False reporting is a bannable offence, but not a reportable one. If this person makes a habit of abusing the report system by reporting people for things that aren't actually bannable, he will be dealt with directly by the Support team. You don't need to do anything about it.

Rest assured though, his report will do absolutely nothing, since he didn't have any evidence to back up his claim and tunneling isn't a bannable offence anyway.

Where does it state that false reporting is bannable?

I didn't see that anywhere in the Game Rules, unless I wasn't paying attention.

  • @Oicimau said:

Yeah, i agree, its not bannable. I just wanted to make clear this is very BM, as much as im not very deep into game expressions, except for the basic ones.

But once I reported a person for saying that in PS Network, the first time someone said me that. As I aways say "offense reported" (and nothing more) before reporting, he argued it was not an offense. I reported anyway, but then I started to ask myself if that was only a rude thing, deserving only a block, not a report.

And now I know exactly what it is, tks you all. :D

    Understandable.

Usually when reporting someone it's best to know what's bannable, reportable, etc. If you'd like to learn more about this stuff, than I can link you the Game Rules post below to educate yourself on the matter.

Here's the link to the game rules post

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system#latest

If you come across anything you're uncertain about, than just go back to this post. If the post is unclear on something specific, like this scenario, than use your best judgement before going through the hassle of reporting them.

  • @Clarence_Brown24

For context, everything had already been said above, but if you intentionally made the post to get an answer from a Dev than that's something that rarely happens.

Not because they don't care, but because of the notification this sub-forum has when you enter it. I'll quote it so you can read it in this comment if you can't find it. "Please note: Although we may stop by occasionally, this is not a developer Q&A."

    As for some side-notes...

The Killer hit-boxes are fine, I don't entirely know why you'd think otherwise. If you're getting this information from a recent Dev Stream that talks about hit-boxes, than that doesn't entirely mean they're broken...? That's just how they're designed.

Yeah, on peer-to-peer 140ms was completely fine. However on servers, 140ms turns chases into nothing but a guessing game, both as killer and survivor.

Yeah, I noticed that sometimes in-game when facing a Survivor with fairly bad connection to DS's, so rubber-banding, teleporting, and overall lag does occur unfortunately. I didn't think 120-140 causes this, but I suppose a new system does change things. At any rate, I doubt anyone here knows why his ping randomly dropped.

The only reasonable explanation could be because of his connection reacting badly to the Dedicated Servers as a whole, and not the connection itself. He can try contacting support to see what they can do/say, but besides that it's something that just... happened I guess.

I'm surprised it's even on the Switch with the hardware its got, being a teen targeted console and has a lot of classic nintendo games for kids into mario, link and wii sports boxing 3.0 but it is what it is.

I'm doing well, thanks for asking.

But as said above, it's an intentional exploit that requires a player to fish for it, it isn't something that has been documented as unintentional. The FPS Capped version that the Switch uses wouldn't contribute to the exploit in anyway, the exploit requires unknown means to operate, which can't be said here (for obvious reasons) and requires intentional manipulation to do.

As long as the OP doesn't attempt to do it themselves, than they'll be fine.

I'lll provide a link to the DBD Wiki on all the current Status Effects in-game. There's also Status Icons in there for you to review, so everything is there for you to read and understand.

If the day ever comes where BM or saying something like "EZ" is bannable in games, it would be the beginning of some Dark times

imagine MW2, or any game without the toxicity, its not the same

That would never happen, if the BMing becomes borderline harassment in and out of the match, than yes it's something that'll be taken seriously.

If it's just T-Bagging or saying "EZ" in-game than no, it's not something that'll ever be bannable. It's rude yes, but it isn't anything that's grounds for a ban.

  • @Jemex7

If the in-game settings are not working than it could just be your mouse conflicting with the settings I suppose.

It could also be lag that's causing your sensitivity to randomly spike at times, so that's also another possibility. As for a fix to this, you can try looking up videos on mouse sensitivity to see if anything's off... but besides that, if the in-game settings are not working than I don't entirely know why it's rejecting the change.

    I have to ask though...

Did you save the edits I hope?... Because sometimes it's one of those questions where the person asking accidentally didn't save the edits for example. If you did and it still doesn't work, than I personally don't know what else I or anyone can do for you without adjusting the settings themselves.

It could be your mouse that's the issue...?

  • @deltasqad2005

You can try this to help in-game, these two videos should give you some insight and one is even made by Noob3 himself, the same youtuber you referenced.

here's the two videos to choose from

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYbM9rTlHSI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8ApcSprJ8U

I can do it sometimes in-game as well, but it requires a lot of practice to be precise with it, which is something I've yet to actually get down. 360'ing in-general is hard to do on Killers that're used to it, so don't be surprised if you come across some Killers that're REALLY aware of how to counter it.

Interesting... never been in a lobby like it myself but I do find clips of it happening on youtube 100% of the time on PC but Switch? I get it's probably buggy cause u know, its switch but it getting into a lobby with another killer without exploiting is strange and awesome. If only we had a gamemode with 2 killers or something this could turn it into something amazing

You can't do this without exploiting, the player that did this in the OP's match intentional exploited.

I am also shocked this happened on Switch of all places, but any account of this happening in-game requires the player to be intentionally doing it. It would be shocking if this was unintentional, but it's not, it requires a player to actually attempt a re-creation.

120-140ms ping is borderline unplayable, if your opponent has the same ping as well. Thats almost a quarter of a second stacked up.

Maybe i'm thinking of the old ping, since 120-140 ping for that system was hardly noticeable.

    @Xephox_Epoch said:

anything above 130 ping is very noticable

If it's very hindering in-game, than you can try contacting support to see what they can do for you. I doubt you'll get anything drastic as an answer, so I wouldn't get your hopes up.

It's an option though for some more solid answers, so i'll link them below for you to submit a ticket.

Uhm, isn't poised when you leave no scratch marks after finishing a gen? I think people have it confused with solidarity.

I've done the challenge using my regular perks: iron will, spine chill and WGLF, I think.

    Ah, you're right.

Tbh, all @trapped_by_daylight needs with Poised is a gen jocky build. Something like a Commodious Tool-Box with Socket Swivel and BNP as his item and Poised, Spine-Chill, Botany Knowledge, and Self-Care for his perks. This lets him get a Generator out of the way and have an alternative means to heal himself in bad scenarios.

At any rate, unless he's being tunneled the entire match he should be able to finish one Generator and escape. If he wants to sacrifice Botany Knowledge for DS, than that's probably a better idea. If he doesn't like Self-Care and he can also swap that out for something like Sprint Burst or Adrenaline.

So his option perk builds are as follows below

    • [Poised Build #1] (Poised, Spine-Chill, Botany Knowledge, and Self-Care)
    • [Poised Build #2] (Poised, Spine-Chill, Decisive Strike, and Adrenaline/Sprint Burst)
    • [Poised Build #3] (Poised, Lithe, Dance With Me, and Quick and Quiet)

The last build, Poised Build #3, actually works with Poised's mechanic of leaving no scratch marks behind, the other perks are from a Houdini build which you can use in a chase to run and hide from the Killer easily. The other two builds are for general Survival that you can use to escape.

I didn’t mention anything about being injured. I was just asking for a good perk Build that has Poised in it.

All you need is We'll Make It, Empathy, Poised, and Spine-Chill.

That's all you need to help in every possible scenario that might happen, We'll Make It for a fast health state on an unhooked Survivor, Empathy to heal a lone injured Survivor if you can't unhook someone, Poised for the challenge, and Spine-Chill to help counter stealth Killers and aid in general repairs.

If you don't want Spine-Chill than you can swap it for Botany Knowledge to help with Empathy, this is so you can heal that lone injured Survivor a lot faster.

    edit

After a realization from a comment below, I mistook Poised for Solidarity... refer to my new comment below for 3 optional builds.

Your connection might not be the issue, it could just be your connection to the Dedicated Servers themselves that's the issue.

Dedicated Servers do get tweaked sometimes, so that could be why your ping suddenly dipped as a result. 120-140 ping isn't that bad anyways, so it's not really something you should worry about. If it was 200-250+ ping than it would be different.

Of course I can see why switching from 60-80 ping to 120-140 ping is a big quality dip, but it's not anything serious that'll impede your game-play. As said before though, it could just be your connection with the DS's themselves and not the connection as a whole.

  • @Hex_BoopTheSnoot

Possible, proof might be required for something that happened so long ago, and if it's required than hopefully you have it.

I also don't know if something that long ago can be traced back, so if it can't than I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't anything they can do about it. You can always try though and see, since the Support Team does return lost progress in-case it happens. They might return BPs as the equivalent and not the offerings themselves. If this happens than that's probably all they can do or that's all they're allowed to do.

In the case of lost progress, I've lost plenty of BPs, Puddings, and BPS's from a crash and/or save error, so when they return that progress I get BPs instead of the offerings themselves. In this scenario, that's probably what they'll do for this as well. Also, since the offerings are discontinued I kind of doubt they can return those, even if they're able to return offerings specifically.

So if they can't return the offerings than you'll at least get BPs as compensation. That's to say... if they can even go back that far to confirm you lost that progress.

besides that though, here's the link to the support team for you to try

This is actually an exploit that some players do in-game to get 2 Killers or more. I don't entirely know how it happens and even if I didn't I can't share that information for obvious reasons. If you see this happen in-game as a Survivor or Killer, than you can report this in-game and record it (if possible) as evidence for an optional support ticket.

The part i'll be quoting below is from the Game Rules post on exploits.

EXPLOITS: ABUSING BUGS OR ERRORS IN DESIGN TO GAIN A COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE

    • Advertising exploits
    • Exploit bugs, errors in design, or undocumented features to gain access to what otherwise would not be available or to obtain a competitive advantage
    • In-game report REQUIRED / Customer Support ticket OPTIONAL

Specific exploits that we will ban for until they are resolved:

    • Bloodweb Progress/Prestige Exploit
    • 2+ Killer Exploits
    • Spasmodic Breath Nurse speed exploit

here's the link to the game rules post if you'd like to see for yourself

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system#latest

    an ending statement

If this exploit happens again in-game, than I wouldn't worry about anything bad happening to you. If you're not attempting to do the exploit yourself than it shouldn't be anything to worry about.

If you do see this happen in-game though, than please do report the player that's attempting the exploit (if possible).

here's the link to the support team, in-case you see this exploit happen again
