Give me a killer who does a jumping kick as their m1. GIVE ME CLOAKER, DAMMIT!
-
I'm cool with it not being telegraphed as long as there's punishment for missing. You should be rewarded for making them whiff and they should be punished for fumbling a hit with it.
I do like the idea of reducing the speed by half for the first 45 seconds. The gradual concept is neat since it's like the goober's warming up. :>
-
Alien has a unique traversal power that outshines Demo's by a large amount. The perks range from pretty good to niche but none of them are useless on both sides. I have eyes on Rapid Brutality because I like being able to flex my m1 skills. Pairs well with Forced Hesitation if you're planning on downing with m1 in order to also benefit from Rapid. Lightfooted is pretty good but I think the only requisite it needed was to be healthy and not have a cooldown. Besides, you still have scratchmarks you can track as killer.
Yes, I would recommend this chapter. Fair warning though, tail attack takes a bit to get used to.
-
Dramaturgy. It's a more skillful old DH. Can't just react. Need to anticipate when they're gonna swing and when they do, it feels GOOD to make them whiff.
Brutal is on the other end because I like kicking fast. :)
-
I wouldn't want them adding voice chat to dbd unless they add a ping system. You can give callouts that way that everyone else can see and this will help players over in the EU as there's more language barriers.

Bit of an overreaction, ngl.
The changes dropping earlier than release changes nothing about the released product. Hell, it's even releasing a day earlier than usual.
Besides, for all we know there isn't much changing to begin with. Xeno certainly didn't need any major number changes, as far as I could tell.
Oh they're releasing it a day earlier? Where did you hear this? :0
-
Nope. These are so ancient and are in dire need of an overhaul.

People already cry when you simply say "No" to them by looking left and right, imagine if you could taunt them with an emote.
Nah, only survivors can bully, troll and tbag in your face man. Remember, the Holy Survivor's Rulebook prohibits killers to have any fun!
The minute you stop caring about anyone's fun and just play how you wanna play (Not intentionally bring stuff to spite people and make them miserable, mind you.) is the minute things will be real chill and fun.
-
An interesting addition to Legion (I know, very obvious self catering.) would be to either consume the full power gauge to vault over a window or pallet as if you were in frenzy but have no fatigue or to bring back being able to go into frenzy with a partially filled gauge. (Both at once would admittedly be awful to play against.)
-
At this point, shift to mobile's engine.

No. I do not want it to be centred around that. I'm just saying we got bot survivors so is there really any point to having this? People are gonna give up on hook to dodge the penalty, making bots unable to be used therefore making the change useless. I'll quit preaching the idea once killer bots are a thing in custom. Not just the tutorial. I love this game with all my heart.
I'm serious, I can't get the event challenges done because of being constantly booted and the penalty punishing me for being poor I'm actually having a ######### mental breakdown. I just want the last piece of this stupid jake cosmetic.

So you want the entire system to be around the poorest connection possible? No, that's not how the world works. You may be legit but there are thousands that want to DC without penalty on demand. From my original post, other PvP games are stricter than BHVR in this regard. Other games will ban your account for doing what a lot of dbd players are doing.
I'm not saying bhvr should adopt these policies. I'm saying that some punishment is required for quiters for the health of the game.

Some games outright ban you if you go afk or purposefully throw. For BHVR to just slap you on the wrist for DCing is very mild punishment.
Well look at you, Mr. My internet is so consistent. It isn't just for the sake of being angry. Some of us genuinely have bad connections where we live. That mean we're just supposed to ######### off?
-
Legion should be able to spend their entire power gauge to vault over a pallet or window as if they were in frenzy in the normal m1 mode.
-
Didn't they say that would be out sometime around autumn? Just wait, damn.

Just posting this for a fun discussion... this is not an actual suggestion....
Its fascinating looking back at the release of Legion, the Killer had so much hype surrounding the idea of impersonating survivors in the game, that had technical limitations preventing the idea from becoming a reality.
I personally run a pretty humble skin on Legion, Frank's Smeared Smirk with Julie's Checkered Past:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/NLBKAPHPJ5U4/kk-mask01-01.png
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/P8NQPL7LJ47X/kk-body015.png
At a glance this skin does look quite a lot like a regular survivor, which is why I like it... but it got me thinking... and again I'm not making this as a serious suggestion...
How much fun would it be if Legion, along with feral frenzy, could just enter survivor mode?
Press the Killer secondary ability button/key, and rather than disguising as an existing survivor (like the original concept), just simply put away the knife, lose the TR (or make is 16m if legit eanting it for memes) and move like a 4.0m/s regular running animation survivor? Press the action key/button to use the animations of gens and vault pallets as a survivor would.
Now that changes Legion considerably right? Makes them more like a stealth killer? Here's the kicker. While in survivor mode, you can only enter feral frenzy. Pressing the secondary killer ability to return to regular mode stuns Legion in the same was as feral frenzy does, and puts FF on cooldown.
I tend to go friendly at 2 or 3 kills, but I couldn't help but smile thinking of Legion peacing up to a survivor on a gen and start working on it next to them for shits and giggles. XD
It'd be an addition that pretty much does nothing you could seriously get an advantage from with anyone halfway paying attention, and mostly Legion remains the same, go for wounds on survivors, and then m1 them down for hooks. Being stealthy and slow doesn't help your game plan at all... but it'd be funny, and bring some much needed levity back to DbD xD
It would definitely be interesting to adjust from first person to third if you could basically be a survivor while playing killer.
-
B will always remind me of Legion. It just... fits.
-
Thought of one for Fuming Mixtape on Legion.
The same effects from before are there but when not in Frenzy and the power gauge is full, consume the gauge in its entirety to vault a window or pallet as if you were in Frenzy.
Either that or being able to go into Frenzy when you have a partial amount of the power filled up like old Legion.
-
They've been trying to implement it for a LONG TIME. Unfortunately it isn't there yet. Just try to get characters you don't have on pc and hopefully they'll have it done sometime soon.

I think you have my opinion backwards. I think the person that wants out should DC, so at least we get a bot who will play the game. But people don't want to take the penalty, so they kill themselves on hook instead. Denying the team at least a bot that will play. I propose that they ban people for doing this. Ultimately i think the mechanic should go away entirely, but in general, they should ban for things like trolling (they do already with video evidence) helping the killer, afking, etc. That way, when someone wants out, they have 2 choices, DC, take the penalty, the team gets some bots, and everyone is happy, or they afk, troll, otherwise cause a problem, and get banned from the game so they can't do that anymore, and everyone is happy.
I wouldn't say "not letting them out that easy" and taking it as spiteful is having it backwards. I just think the penalty should go away so that way people that don't want to be jerks but don't wanna play in a match they are hating can have an out.

If i'm going to lose either way, i'm not letting them out that easy.
I'm sorry but that sounds like the most spiteful and insufferable thing I have heard over a game. If someone has to leave or wants to, they shouldn't be down a pair of hands to work on gens because of it.
-
Legion main here. Huge stretch to say they're one of the hardest to master. They do have some tricks that barely any Legion players use. Being able to make use of your lunge to get in front of them and even using it to block a window is a really clean strat if you know exactly what to do and when to do it. For more leniency with the time window, you'd run bracelet which (I mean, who doesn't love that addon?) basically everyone uses and if they don't, they SHOULD. Heck, I even use the lunge to just get closer without tagging them again so I can be closer when I fatigue.
It did warm my heart when a friend of mine who watched me stream in discord vc said I made them look S tier. ~v~

Nono, no nerf - Just extend the animation to 1 - 1.5 seconds.
The haste will still trigger after 0.5 seconds as it is now.
I'm really purely talking visuals. It's just too funny to just see for half a second.
In that case, have the animation play for the duration you have the haste from it afterwards. Makes sense, right?

Yeah, it happens. I've been asking for the Alien license though, and so I might have to hop on when it drops to see what's good. I've just been playing mostly Smite and finishing up a new cycle on SMT Nocturne for the time being. I even dusted off the Ol' Fatalis Greatsword for some event hunts on Monster Hunter World.

I have 2 on my wishlist. I still boot up a private server for my mates on Risk of Rain from time to time. Fun series. Love pulverizing everything on screen with Loader.
I can't play multiplayer due to my internet liking to randomly boot me out. It's also why I can't play dbd as much as I want. It's really stupid that we don't have the penalty removed now that bots are a thing.
-
At that point you just stop playing the game for a while. It's okay to take a break. Play something else for a while. I've been playing Risk of Rain 2 and I've been enjoying myself while I wait down this penalty decay because of my goofy ahh internet (when we have bots so a penalty shouldn't exist anymore).

Since other licensed characters are getting lobby music from their respective killers ie Cheryl and Pyramidhead, would it be possible for Steve and Nancy to get Demogorgon’s lobby music as well? I understand they aren’t in the game anymore per se but this would only affect those that own the characters. In the end the music is just the DBD theme with ST accents I think.
Normally, I would say no but you clarified it just putting Demo's music over them. That would be the most likely if they're forever trapped in license limbo.

I just noticed this and I'm kinda confused why they did this... doesn't it make the secondary effects of WGLF and Made for this redundant? Not to mention the description still says that it Unlocks potential of aura reading..... yet that effect is removed entirely
It's actually better than that combo since it doesn't require you to be injured for the endurance to proc. You just get it.

oh you mean like health-state body-blocking and healing immediately after the down. that is m1 killer problem. you can only counter it with stbfl.
Not even STFBL at max stacks can stop that if they're quick enough to react.

I went for the swing and a survivor dead harded at the same time. The swing managed to hit them as soon as the 0.5 seconds were up. Awesome perk.
Had something happen of a similar thing happen but I was on the receiving end. I dead harded and as soon as I did, MYERS ######### 360 SWUNG WITH HIS OMEGA LUNGE AND HIT ME AT THE END OF HIS SWING WHEN MY ENDURANCE WAS GONE. Like, I'm really impressed but man, that is such a stupid play.

Moving by Get Scared whenever I think about Legion and for survivor in general, Born For This by The Score.
Let me edit this for more reasoning. Born For This is motivational and gets me hyped up to style on the killer and Get Scared is a band that is mainly punk rock and angst, fitting the group. This one being one of their more fast paced tracks.

@Seraphor said:
That would be a fair way to prevent it stacking with Hope I think. But a lot of players complaints are about it's effect in chase. I don't necessarily agree with that, but I feel those complaints will get the perk nerfed more than just during endgame. If the perk is going to get a more general nerf anyway, I'm not sure this idea is needed as well.
They could legit just have the 3% not stack with anything. If you get hope, only the haste from hope and so on. Still good to use but not overbearing at the end.

The mapwide lullaby sounds really cool. With the changes I have seen regarding the fact you need to hit a survivor within 6 seconds of projecting to gain a stack, do you think the current television cooldowns would be too short? I like that there's more room for traversal.

Being hooked while carrying a tape will no longer inflict other Survivors with Condemned. The tape will still be destroyed.
Do you think this being still a thing even with the 2 condemned stacks on hit would be the sweet spot? I wanna know what you think.

I wasn't thinking from the angle that a bot takes over. Still how would that work? If you get a 3 - 5 min window in which you can rejoin a lot can happen in that time. Say if you had a real DC due to loss of connection and during that time your bot is on death hook and you join while being carried to the hook. That would suck.
Not against the idea but not sure how well it would work in such a fast paced game.
If Apex of all games is able to do it, so can dbd. I just wanna have the opportunity to not get dragged down by my cursed ass internet refusing to let me play one of my favourite games.
-
@Peanits said:
I can confirm that they are not being removed. The DC bots are there as a backup plan: They're better than not having a teammate at all, but they aren't expected to be as good as a real player.
Beyond that, this is a multiplayer game first and foremost. Abandoning the match affects other people. The DC penalties exist to discourage people from leaving an excessive number of matches over the slightest inconveniences. Removing them would only make it more acceptable to quit and leave your teammates to play with a (possibly) less capable bot. If someone cannot be bothered to commit to a match, or has such an unstable connection that they regularly lose connection, they need to reconsider whether or not they should be playing an online game. It is not fair to expect the other people in the match to deal with the consequences because of them.
Please can you relay this to the team that there should be a rejoin feature by pressing Rejoin match (the button to replace the ready button). There are people with inconsistent connections who still want to play but can't because where they live may be an issue to them. This would also be beneficial for players that need a moment to calm down after rage quitting which would mean people would give up less. Giving a 3-5 minute window after disconnecting to return would be beneficial regardless of who disconnects and for what reason. Should they not return within that time, they get the penalty.

Isn't trapper considered the worst killer in the game ever?

Okay, if you main survivor and get immediately bodied because of a remote pallet break when there's other structures around, that is a skill issue on your end, man. I play both sides as equally as I can but I have been leaning into survivor since I was bored and I can see how easily telegraphed someone's movements are when they have that little hula hoop around them. Unfortunately, the event will be over before you can get better with countering that sort of thing.

Sounds like a place in Canada I used to know. Those are unfortunate circumstances but, unless BHVR feel confident enough to differentiate between an ISP issue and a disconnect due to baby stuff, it's a scenario which will still incur the penalties because of the majority.
Reconnecting to the game is the way to differentiate that, though. :I
It's why I mentioned there should be a 3-5 minute timer before you're locked out of the game.
-
@Marc_go_solo said:

Isn't that what the disconnect bans are though, originally? They start from as low as 5 minutes initially, so that window is already available. If you're being booted out regularily, then that's the ISP's responsibility and you need to raise concerns with them to improve their service.
It isn't just the singular ISP. Every single network in the state of where I am has this issue. I legit can't do anything about it unless I move and since I have a family here, I can't really do that. No matter what provider is used, it ends the same: Eventually, it'll kick me off for some ungodly reason despite being the only one using it so much.

As nice as it would be to rejoin of you lost connection, I don't see a reasonable way to implement it considering that you could have been sacrificed by then.
Rejoining works in games where you have a respawn system. But not so much when it's an elimination game.
If you're already dead then just have it not show up. Easy.
-
@Marc_go_solo said:
They have no intention to remove them and that's fine. Someone who rages enough to dc needs to calm down anyway.
I just wanna be able to join back if the servers or my wifi boot me out of the match. Give like a 5 minute window so we can restart and join back in the game, y'know?

I wouldn´t call the sadako changes a buff though. The condemn feature just gets completely handed over to the control of survivors. As long as they carry a tape, their condemnation wont increase. So everyone will carry a tape at all times, which will also result in less tvs to teleport to, since the cd also increases when survivors turn a tv off.
The demanifestation changes are a net buff to me, though. I can agree that it's not a flat out buff regarding tapes but from what it looks to me, this allows Sadako to play more aggressively without needing to rely on stuff like drawing and iri tape or resort to a specific playstyle. Unfortunately it won't stop people from trying to play cringe but it's a net positive overall! :>
