Once you have the config file, right click it and click on Properties. After that, move your mouse down the Properties window to find attributes and you'll find the Read-only toggle. Click that and then click apply on the bottom right. Once you've done that, the settings should stay.

firstly I like to start I’ve always loved DBD from the very beginning, near enough when it first came out. It’s been a blast to see so many new Killers and survivors come out during my journey deeper into the fog. Unfortunately now, I don’t see much point playing survivor anymore. Not only do my games involve unfair killers, but knowing that the majority of perks that were commonly used are now nerfed excessively. I feel that the developers only care about the killers, not the survivors. Don’t get me wrong. I do play both killer and survivor. After all, 100% more blood points on either category. It’s a shame that I don’t enjoy survivor anymore
You have full right to feel this way, though don't let it cloud your objective judgement on the game. That can lead you down a dark path.

Those curving homing smart hatchets Hunt launches that hit are more likely due to latency and ping.
As for Ghostie, it's always been a pain to reveal him. You have to center the camera on like his throat or sumthin then hold it. And apparently the head of your surv can somehow get in the way, even though you're in third person. Pure jank. I agree it works poorly af.
You'd think they'd adjust the logic with revealing to account for the survivor's own body and disregard that.

After seeing Chucky's special attack, it makes me wish that's what Frenzy was. No idea of other Legion mains agree but man, it should've been THEM.

The consequences of in game chat would make solo q more difficult because then everything will be balanced around people having comms. Hence, people in solo q would have no choice but either deal with the toxicity or play at a disadvantage.
This would obviously be worse with full on comms rather than just proximity chat, but honestly I can't imagine proximity chat not being toxic way more often than fun if killers and survivors can interact through it.
Nah, you know solo teammates will still be fumbling even with the proxy chat. I know it and so do you. This is more of for goofy than anything and I'm for it as a beta that can be toggled in live like the wiggle skillchecks.

It's not his signature weapon. It would be like teasing Myers with a scalpel just because he used one in Halloween 2.
Well Bateman in the cover art is literally holding a kitchen knife so I'm pretty sure.

Revert the stun duration nerf of DS. Also remove the skill check, it serves absolutely zero purpose.
I'd prefer that if they were to buff it, they just give the survivor with ds a free sprint burst but keep the 3 second stun. Less time the killer can't do anything but the survivor gets distance after being tunnelled.

@Shroompy said:
Only issue I have with it is the Endurance it gives
If they want to keep it, make it so if you heal a Survivor while injured, you become Exhausted for X seconds
Now it doesnt synergize as well with Exhaustion perks, and disables it self upon activation.
Me omw to swap it out for Buckle Up

This has always been the case with cheating though. Killer aura perks were always used to cover up wall hacks. Gen regression perks were always used to cover up gen regression hacks. Gen speed perks were always used to cover up gen speed hacks. If we let hackers dictate perks we won't have any perks left.
While I would agree with that statement, movement altering perks like that shouldn't be in the game anyway. Not that freely available to use, at least.

@BubbaDredge said:
Survivors should be able to start a custom match with no killer.
Unironically agree. Same for killer and no survivors. It would be nice to get footage for whatever's needed or just to explore new maps and experiment with how you would run tiles.
-
Don't know why everyone's crapping on this idea so harshly. It is a neat thought to be able to crawl to someone else on the floor and attempt to patch up their wounds.

why does there need to be something to compensate? the bar immediately filling when the killer hooks you is ridiculous
I know but there isn't a reason to still be near them unless they're at a chokepoint you need to get through. Say a hallway on midwich. You should be able to pass through MORE than a few times and they can't unhook themselves. Just always be on the move.
-
I always was thinking that if there's gonna be a 7 second grace period, increase the speed to compensate.
-
Jesse, what the ######### are you talking about?
-
I'd prefer the Zombies to get a rework to how they interact with survivors. Make them grab the survivor and trigger the drone minigame. Make it REALLY feel like REmake.
-
Sound occlusion is notoriously bad in this game. It's why you can leave a flashbang around a corner and blind the killer when they walk through.

Its a tech that still has counterplay and adds an extra layer to a chase. People just for whatever reason think its the issue when in reality its just Blight himself and his add ons
Can confirm, got bullied by a Dwight on Gas Heaven whilst trying to do it.

There has been times when I've been able to crawl to hatch and I'm sure the killer wouldn't have given me hatch. This would make it almost impossible.
I personally never understood the need to carry a survivor to hatch. If you want them to have it just don't slug them. If you are worried about them wasting time if you find it first close it and force them to open the gates.
Now that you've gone into more detail unlike another person who replied here, this makes my other concept of a mercy option a better idea.
Here's the idea I mentioned, by the way.

You're playing a game that's full of these flaws. Personally, I would prefer for an option to hold m2 to have a little cutscene play out with the killer giving survivor mercy and sending them down the hatch but I don't think they would be able to pull that off which is why I'm trying to be realistic.

No, that would be bad game design to implement systems jerks could use for ill intent. That would mean the Designer needs to re-evaluate or fix the flaw. You don't just release an obviously flawed and hope players wont be horrible, that would be a mistake.

What.. they cancel each other out? What does that even mean? That's not how Game Design works buddy.
Of course. That's because it isn't solely the games fault that people will use it for ill intent. It's hard for game designers to account for jerks in the playerbase that will abuse a mechanic that was built with good things in mind.
-
@Emeal said:
Uhm, the game isnt designed for the Killer to be nice. bHVR should not design the game around nice friendly Killers.
But otherwise, If I see a Killer pick me up, look around, drop me down, go kick the hatch, pick me back up, try to put me on hook, fail, we run around for less than a min, down me and hook me. I'm going to complain to bhvr the INSTANT, okay? ok.
I found you two reasons.
That's the fault of the player and not the game. As you've said, you've shown that you're okay with killers not being nice so... your reasons cancel eachother out.

Thought I would have left dbd (and incidentally, the forums) but it finds some way to drag me back. So instead of FilthyLegionMain, it's FilthyLegionRevival.

It kind of seems that your friend hates the fact that they can't loop and want a button to win every tile for them, at least that's the vibes I'm getting.
You're telling me you don't find running around in a circle silly when you think about it?
-
@ReverseVelocity said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3547941#Comment_3547941
"Press button to win loop" doesn't exactly strike me as interesting gameplay. There was a Survivor perk like that once, and people didn't like that very much.
As you can see, my friend hates the looping aspect of dbd. Personally, I love it but I wouldn't be opposed to have it be more of chaining tiles.
-
@ReverseVelocity said:
That'd allow the killer to outplay basically every loop on command. That's like 5 stacks of PWYF and it's basically impossible to evade 3.
For the last part of this burst of concerns, I'd like to say that this applies to what I said in the above reply to your initial thing regarding Clown. The duration could be tweaked or the potency in speed could be reduced. This is simply meant to add more interesting gameplay on the killer end aside from just using their power.
-
@ReverseVelocity said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3547874#Comment_3547874
Clown is pretty much unloopable, you kinda have to predrop and camp pallets. He also has to actually set it up instead of just pushing a single button.
You're crazy if you think this is even a remotely good idea.
As I have said, stuff can be tweaked so stuff can be altered on Clown specifically to account for that such as the speed boost being capped to +25% regardless of the antidote.
-
@DEMONANCE said:
i think movement speeds should remain something that is never tampered with aside from perks that require specific requirements.
killers literally have a power and chase perks for a reason.
if these powers and perks prove to be lacking then I'd rather fix that instead.
Which is why this will not be able to be used when charging and using a power that changes your state of movement. It's meant for plain ol' m1 movement and nothing more.
-
@GensByDaylight said:
Heh, it'd be funny, but every single survivor main would scream and have a fit over it.
Also blights rushes are based on his base speed so I think he'd go Mach 10 if you combined it all.
Personally I like the idea, it wouldn't help killers like nurse and spirit as much as it would help M1 killers, which is what we need.
Oh yeah, let me adjust that. Originally that was what they said as well. I simply forgot because my memory is trash lmao. And as @Devil_hit11 said, this could be a fitting replacement for bloodlust.

I thought of this awhile back but I just don’t know what could be a good concept for a “scourge Cage” 😅
Well we can't say what would be or not be op if the concept doesn't exist, bro.

@D0NN1ED4RK0 said:
so We all know what scourge hooks are in dbd but what if we had something for pyramid head like a “scourge Cage of atonement”? I had this idea awhile back randomly and maybe it could give him a potential in addons?
or is this concept just to OP and unbalanced for the game?
Depends on what that would consist of. You haven't given an idea of what a scourge cage would be.
-
Or, and hear me out on this, make it legit just a separate gamemode. Just to make things fair for both sides. If that happens to not work and everyone ditches it then fine, it can be an optional toggle.

Is it planned to change Shadowborn as well or can it function as extra FoV if people prefer to use Shadowborn on top of the FoV-Slider?
Common sense would dictate yes and so will Monitor and Abuse. No need for them to answer that when it should be obvious to everyone.

@Botiz said:
Because instead of putting a complete stop to a gamebreaking exploit, they're just limiting it so it doesn't happen as often.
Very logical choice from BHVR as usual.
Because the killswitch doesn't remove it from the game entirely, it removes it from being accessed in the menu. It would be near impossible to implement that.
-
If I recall correctly, you can still get them in chests from searching them. You simply don't have access to them in lobby via the perks that grant the item or the item itself.
-
It would be lovely if that happened. Not only would people be able to get practice in with flashbangs if they were to do blind saves but we could put this dumb discourse of "OH BUT KILLER BAD SO I CAN EXPLOIT", sure, that means one less item to be able to be used but then you could temporarily have the firecrackers return. OR BETTER YET, MAKE THEM A THING YOU CAN GET NORMALLY!

@Reinami said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3537594#Comment_3537594
Because its a complicated mechanic that is more than likely going to be exploited by SWF and not actually solve the problem. Now you are just adding layers upon the problem.
The reason camping exists, is because it is possible. This anti-camping mechanic is just going to "punish" camping, which isn't going to do anything, because campers still gonna camp. Better to actually make it not possible.
Fine, what about 10 seconds of I-Frames instead of endurance if you unhook yourself when the bar is filled? Literally anything can be exploited by a SWF. We need to learn to stop giving a damn about SWFs. They're a necessary evil to playing with friends and we can't really change that.
-
@Reinami said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3537479#Comment_3537479
But the point i'm making is. Does doing this make the game any more fun for the guy getting hard facecamped and tunneled? It does not, so what is the point of this again? Facecamping is typically a BAD strategy for the killer because against good teams, they just lose. So the point of this is to fix being on the unfun end of it. But this mechanic doesn't actually do that, and just creates another scenario that is complicated, hard to figure out in a game, and abusable by SWF.
If that's the case then why not have the haste be a higher value when you unhook yourself using the mechanic, then?
-

Permanent wall hacks are generally considered pretty broken.
I know you're probably gonna say "But that's a hex." though I do want to mention undying gives that effect onto dull totems. People don't run it for that, though. They run it so their other hexes have a second chance.
-
@Reinami said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3537445#Comment_3537445
It won't even do that.
- Get hooked
- Leatherface facecamps
- Unhook yourself
- Leatherface chainsaws you twice in one sweep
- Get hooked again
- Why am i on the hook?
If you legit can't utilise the speed you get from being hit during endurance to get up to the window, you are legit doing something wrong.
-
@Pulsar said:
Evidently, BHVR thinks basekit Shadowborn is broken.
Okay okay, serious this time.
Lightborn now reveals the aura of Survivors standing in the light of generators, fire barrels or generator powered lights.
I wouldn't even consider that a broken idea. It would give it more utility aside from "HA, YOUR LIGHTS MEAN NOTHING!" Would incentivise survivors to not stick around stuff they already completed.
-
@KnightOfSumeria1 said:
Darn. Idk, it is a super fun perk though and is great.
If changes do happen, I hope two things go:
1) increase cooldown timer for, ultimate weapon by 5-10 seconds.
2) nerf, Made For This to 2% movement speed and take away Endurance.
Damn bro, a part of me wants MFT to remain unchanged or even be buffed slightly just to piss you off for being so angry at its existence that you bring it up in a conversation no one asked for.
-
It's still surprising how they just keep pulling a "The Dead by Daylight team is aware of this issue and is looking into it but can't give any concrete details as of right now."
Sure, there are some good bits of information like them acknowledging the crappy descriptions of newer cosmetics. Can't help but feel it's just A.I. doing these descriptions now.
