  • All it takes is one streamer to get a 4K with any killer and they instantly go “OMG THIS KILLER IS TOP TIER” then everyone else agrees with them.

Cant wait for the day some streamer says leatherface is top tier

The short version is because we'd rather focus our efforts on the main game before branching out into different gamemodes. To use 2v8 as an example, that would be a nightmare to balance. Even if both killers are chasing someone, that's still 6 people on generators. There's no way you could apply enough pressure to stop them. Beyond that, it would split the playerbase, which means longer queues for everyone.

I wouldn't be against it some day, but it's not exactly a priority.

You could add a new objective to that particular gamemode to balance things out?

The last update actually made Hawkins playable so I'm happy about that. Survivor gameplay feels a lot better but killer still feels the same. Can't wait until I can play Demogorgon and not drop frames when I use shred. That'll be great.

Playing doctor is really bad too, especially if you have that cosmetic equipped that fills his weapon with electricity

It's always ongoing. We slip in some optimization whenever we can. These days it's very technical so there's not much we can say about it.

I think they said a while back that they had progress but it wasn't anything to report on. Something like, well, we fixed this and this and we are working on this.

I have noticed in some updates (when I would take a break from playing the PC version to play with PS4 friends) that it would run fairly decently but then another update would come out which would reverse the changes.

  • @Peanits is there any update on console optimization? I remember it being announced last year but nothing has changed yet. I don't expect the changes to happen overnight but it would be nice to know if any progress is being made.

  • I felt awful doing this challenge. I was honestly expecting tons of hate comments but they were chilled and understood.

The creator was blocked because of school violence, so the publisher wanted to tone it down, but he refused. So he funded a Kickstarter (possibly another one) to keep it going. The new version has a giant spider, it looks like a really neat game.

Ahhh I see, I was gifted it the first day it came and actually had a really good time with it tbh. Will have to give it another try when I get my free Steam key

  • Wait Last year got a new killer? Didn't the devs go silent for months and no updates came out at all?

Might have to check this out

  • The main thing I hate about red rank is how toxic the survivors are. Their ego is unbearable. They honestly act like they have won an award on live TV when they escape XD

  • "Why cant you beat a rank 12?"

Probably because he's a rank 1 survivor who de pipped on purpose. This community is an embarrassment sometimes.

  • Gotta love the devs, one step forwards and two steps backwards

He's not -that- strong. Not so strong he needs that dreaded word "rework." He's stable. You have to learn how to finesse with that chainsaw, otherwise he's just as useless as a day 1 trapper main.

He has been the same practically since the game came out? So whats with the NERF BILLY, REWORK BILLY talk? Honestly it's starting to seem like people are grasping for straws almost like knee jerk posts where "OMG I DIED TO A BILLY HE MUST BE OP!"

    So whats the Deal Community?

Only thing I'd change about Billy is the hitbox. It can be pretty unfair at times for both sides. As a survivor it'll look like he's facing the other way but still hit you and as Billy sometimes the chainsaw goes inside them but it doesn't count as a hit.

I like to see people talking about this. We need to talk more about it. The framerate is awful.

To me it honestly feels like console players get swept under the rug and BHVR don't care about them which is a shame as my console mates love this game despite it's flaws.

I’ve actually noticed that performance has improved for me on PS4 since the last update. Survivor gameplay feels much more smooth and even killer gameplay feels like it’s pushing 30 fps - most of the time, at least. For some reason playing Hag absolutely kills my frames and the game turns into a slideshow.

I wonder what it is that causes performance to be better for some people and worse for others. I’ve had my PS4 since launch so it’s pretty old, but I do play on a monitor which may help.

Yeah I notice that too. My mate sent me a video on his phone and his gameplay looked a lot better than mine, his looked like a constant 30fps and mine looks like it's hitting 20fps. It's a bit strange.

And don't get me started on hag too. It's so annoying teleporting to your traps and the games frames dip to 0 XD

  • I had this issue yesterday and was stuck like that until adrenaline popped. It seems to be when you get pulled off the hook and instantly sprint burst away

  • Gotta love this community sometimes :/

  • A Quentin face charm to scare the killers away.

  • @JoakimGrDay said:

Aight so am I the only one who have noticed that everything they do to survivor perks is giving their perks 1 positive thing, then one negative thing. But with killers perks you get something good + something extra good.

    Take for example noed:

    • You get infinite 1-hits.
    • You get faster
    • Effect continues till totem is cleansed

    Deliverance

    • You must unhook one survivor safely
    • You can unhook yourself whenever you want just in the first hook state. (If you haven't saved anyone before this your perk becomes useless)
    • After you unhook yourself you will get the "broken" status effect for a minute or more.

I don't really see this as an issue. But instead of giving survivors 2 punishments in one perk, why not nerf the positive thing and remove one of the negtive things such as the broken effects. But make the chance of a self-unhook like 80% instead.

This is just a small issue we have right now. Would say they need to focus on hitboxes/connection issues since the game isn't accurate at all. I will continue DC if the hits doesn't look like they connect.

Noed only activates at the end of the game so the killer is only playing with 3 perks for most of the game. Also it may not activate at all if survivors cleanse all totems before all gens are done :)

I do get your point tho, perks like bbq and pop goes the weasel don't give off any negatives. But bbq is countered by lockers I guess.

  • @Rex_Huin said:

OK thanks all. I am prepared to put this down to a misperception on my part.

But I'm still not 100% sure till I see it again...

Had a match yesterday and the notification only popped up when someone got hit when the killer had 3 tokens :)

  • Whenever I play Killer and land bulls*it hits on survivors I always feel bad about it :(

  • Green Key is legit F tier if you get it in a chest. It should honestly have a troll face in the background instead of the green rarity colour.

  • Console optimization needs to happen FAST. I normally play PC but I occasionally play the PS4 version as I have some friends on there and oh my lord, it gets worse and worse every update. Frame drops, blood lust causing your frames to dip to 0 when it activates, auto aim screwing killers over, long queue times, Doctor and Demogorgon gameplay at 15 fps, poor sensitivity, Toxicity, etc etc. If anyone remembers that survey they did a month ago asking if cross platform would be a good idea I was so hyped only to then realise how awful it would be to play a crappy port of dbd that stutters below 30fps against a PC player who sits at a solid 60fps. Consoles need love too and honestly my mates have almost given up on the game saying that it feels like the devs don't care about the console players and that it's frustrating having to deal with the horrendous frame drops. Sadly for now they are having to make do, not everyone can afford a gaming PC so they have to deal with a poopy port. :(

Because you made a post saying this is the worst chapter ever without even saying why! People want to know what it is that you don’t like. Leaving it the way you did could mean a number of things example, your not happy with the killer because he’s not weak and you could be an entitled survivor, you may not like the perk changes, hell you could be talking about the new intro for all we know. Making a bold statement needs explanations to back it up. :)

I play on xbox, and generally end the season between 6 and 4. I'm at rank 5 and 3 pips right now. I actually think pipping is way too easy as survivor, especially compared to pipping as killer. Sometimes I'll try to depip/safety pip without completely bombing the game for my team and I'll still get pips at this rank.

I do agree the lightbringer emblem is inconsistent as hell. Even with the points breakdown on the end screen I don't understand why it's as high or as low as it is sometimes. I'm guessing it has something to do with how many people are actually doing gens while you're being chased.

I believe cleansing totems also contributes to the lightbringer emblem so that might be why it's a bit inconsistent. Though I do agree some emblems absolutely suck especially as killer when your doing the adept achievements.

That is a real possibility since only the mask is Licensed for Ghostface so I guess only the body and weapon will be Blighted. Wouldn't expect Freddy, Michael, Pig, Demo or Bubba to get one tbh.

I could possibly see Pig getting one due to the fact that the license holders for saw seem to be a lot more co-operative than the other license holders. I think Pig aside from ghostface has the most cosmetics for a licensed killer.

While i do agree with some of what you said. Your reasoning that you should let people play however they like without us getting mad is plain wrong. Killers tunneling and camping ruin the survivors experience so they have all the right in the world to message them. In this case, the killer really should just ignore them as they did nothing wrong. NOED is an annoying perk but it's completely justified on killers like him, you should expect a high ranked trapper to run NOED, they have no choice.

While frustrating as it may be to go up against campers and tunnelers. It doesn't give someone the right to bombard another person with rude comments. And for the record I never said "people can play however they want and people should not get mad" There have been times myself where I have gotten extremely mad at some killers but do I go on their profiles and swear at them? No I turn off the game and play something else until I have calmed down. You'll find that half the reason why a killer camps and tunnels one survivor is because that survivor was most likely being toxic towards the killer, other times they will camp to secure a kill if the game is almost over and they haven't got a single kill. Not saying that the playstyle isn't scummy but that people shouldn't loose their s#it over a game.

Get 5 Hooks with the trapper using Logwood dye and Tar bottle Add ons . Complete in a single trial (Vantablack Traps)

Sabotage 2 hooks in a single trial (Hinder the Darkness)

Using the Cypress Memento Mori, Kill the last survivor. (The Reward)

With the Padded Jaws add on, Trap 3 Survivors. (A Chance)

Like the suggestions. Not too difficult at all :)

How about when you’re done with the rift (e.g. past tier 70) you should be given x amount of blood points for tiering up? They do it in rocket league (by giving out painted items), so why not more blood points instead of just sitting at 70? It gives more incentive to keep playing the game.

    100% agree with this

    *looks at the challenge*

Use Monstrous Shrine? Oh, you mean equip 3 Perks and 1 nothing?

    🤭

    And yes, that was bad.

Haha, I think no killer ever likes touching that perk unless your a basement loving Leatherface XD

  • @kcwolf1975 said:

I liked the challenges that had you use different perks, they didn't seem too bad and it helped mix up people's playstyle.

For survivors (and mostly killer) challenges it was great. Running perks that pretty much get no love was great to see. The only one that isn't good is the monstrous shrine one for killers as they camp the basement a lot XD

I know dude, I was REALLY mad about this too, I made a specific post with more than 1K views on it in the past, I just hope they do the best they can. I kept the argument about them reading everything, but it would be nice if they had an "I read this" button you know? The problem is that if they added it they would have a bigger problem with the posts they didnt' read from there on, hehe

Haha yeah it would cause a few problems. I think the best thing to do is to comment on at LEAST one post about a topic that is quite popular. That way the community can relax knowing that they have seen a post about it. I think the reason why people make so many threads is because they want the devs to see the posts but when it looks like they aren't listening an uproar begins and the community turns unhappy very quickly :)

  • @Carlosylu said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/874163#Comment_874163

@FearlessHunter I don't know if the reason why they don't comment specific threads that much but they do comment others is cause people use their answers as quotes and any misswritten or barely non specific thing could lead to a huge problem. For example: "we appreciate the feedback and will pass this on to the higher ups" People could beleive this means that specific feedback is getting attention whyle in reality, passing that info to the higher ups doesn't mean it will forcely change what the feedback talked about

I understand what you mean but it is strange how there have been over 10 posts about Tome level 3 and the first thing they decide to comment on is a question about Pallets. The priorities are just a bit wobbly right now

  • @Peanits said:

Two challenges sounds really nice on paper, but it probably wouldn't work so well in practice. Since the nodes are connected together and only unlock once the previous one is completely, chances are you're not going to be able to multitask much. You'll probably only have one survivor and one killer node available most of the time, and you can't do both of those at the same time.

Being able to select one killer challenge and one survivor challenge might be nice for those who switch back and forth often, though. That way you don't have to go back in each time you switch sides.

We hear you guys about the Rift being grindy- we're taking that feedback to the team.

What I mean is say I have a challenge that requires me to unhook two people but I also have a challenge that I could select that requires me to escape as Claudette. Well why can't I do both? Both the challenges are more than do-able in one match. There have bene plenty of times where I could have done both a generator and unhooking challenge at the same time but since I'm only able to select one I have to go back and do the unhooking challenge all over again but who's to say I might not be so lucky next time? What if I die on first hook? What if my team mates get there before I do. It would just be less tedious if we could select two survivor challenges at the same time.

Also what do you think to the tome 3 challenges? Personally I think they are causing problems/toxic behaviour in the game.

  • @Alice_pbg said:

    The rift or the tome?

Because for the rift, I would change it to fragment every 400 exp instead of 800.

Tome, I would change some of the challenges. Like the egc ones. It's just very unreliable.

It promotes toxic behaviour too. Changed the title as it was a bit confusing XD

  • @Boss said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/874169#Comment_874169

No i meant on the Rift.

There's a lot of empty spaces there.

Ahhh yeah that annoys me when it goes you levelled up go to the rift to claim your rewards and it's nothing XD

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I would just not have done it, give out extra bloodpoints for a while instead, and focus on more important development tasks tbh. If I was in their shoes.

It also sucks how they ruined the Halloween event because they tied it to the battlepass :(

  • @akbays35 said:

I agree, doing a tedious challenge and only getting 25 000 bloodpoints is a bit crap. Should be at least 75 000

  • @humanbeing1704 said:

  • @Carlosylu said:

Not commenting them doesn't mean not reading them, I was really mad about this and actually had an argument with @Rizzo90 and @MandyTalk specificly about this, I'm happy to say that they just don't have an "I read this post" button, but they do try to read everything they can.

Think the problem is that to other people it looks like they are purposely ignoring the threads that talk about serious topics because they can't be bothered to address them. Hell they have said nothing about nurse since her changes despite loads of threads about it. I mean it doesn't really look the best when your commenting on non-serious posts but not commenting on genuine feedback ones. Least they could do is say "we appreciate the feedback and will pass this on to the higher ups". Communication is key when your running a forum and to make it seem like you are ignoring posts with genuine feedback and concerns is not really a good idea.

I'm not saying the devs ignore the posts but it would help if they at least acknowledge the post :) @Peanits

XBOX, red rank for killer, P3 Lvl 50 Trapper against a red ranks 3 man SWF and 1 solo red rank survivor. Agitation, Iron Grasp, Nurses Calling and NOED, addon that hurts someone when they dissarm a trap and addon that obscures my traps.

I brought in an ebony memento mori, don't get me wrong, I do the moris ONLY instead of death hook, no tunneling, no camping, the only reason I'll early mori you is if you dare to teabag me.

I down the first guy in less than 30 seconds into the game, he DCs... I think "ok, I'm gonna let them do 1 free of chase gen". It pops and the game is on. I hook 2 of the 3 remaining guys 2 times (means next hook is death hook) and MULTIPLE times I spotted them with Nurses but decided to let them heal and go try to find someone else. The 3rd guy was lucky enough never to be found by me in all that time except when he was a healer but I decided to leave them alone.

The 4th gen pops and I decide to do the "Trapped exit gates" strategy whyle I let them fix the last gen cause I belive the end game hunt is really fun to do. I down an ALREADY INJURED player and mori him instead of death hook, the 5th gen gets done whyle doing the mori. The survivor who hasn't been hooked all game steps into one of my exit gate's traps (no NOED down) and I proceed to hook him (1st hook for him). The other remaining survivor steps on another of my traps and boom, game over for them. I mori this last guy instead of the death hook and the David died on 1st hook.

    POST GAME MESSAGES:

David: "It's amazing how lowlife noob killers need Ebony to get a kill from a 3 man SWF, imagine if it had been 4 of us"

Me: "I did the moris instead of Death hook, I found survivors with nurses and decided to go away, I gave you a free of chase gen after the DC, I dropped off 4 chases to let you guys have a chance because of the DC... And I was a lowlife noob killer...? Why the toxicity against a nice person who just fairly outplayed you...?"

David: "Ok, I'll give you that one, but why the NOED? You noob killers need an insurance policy? LMAO"

Me: "Dude, I didn't even get to use it... You both last two survivors stepped into my traps at the end game... Nice try though... I guess the Ebony argument didn't work and you needed a better one..."

David: "Stop trying to justify why you use noob tactics to win, LMFAO"

Me: "I'm not gonna argue man, I was nice to y'all, I don't need to stand this... GG"

David: "No GGs against a noob killer"

Damn... second time I regret being nice to pleople...

The sad thing is that people like them forget they are talking to a human being. They forget they are talking to someone who has feelings and is free to play however he/she wants. People forget that this is just a game. they are not gonna win every game they play in a row. Loosing is a part of life no matter how much they want to avoid it.

People like that tend to bully others because it makes them feel better. Just ignore them and move on with your day. Best thing to do is not to engage in the conversation and just block them immediately.

Good luck in your future games :)

  • @Ascended4Head said:

    1. Perception is not always based on reality. We got hard numbers that show this game, is in fact, not killer sided. A kill ratio of almost 75 percent for most killers in no reality would make a game survivor sided, unless you think those numbers should be closer to 100 percent, which is another problem I'll detail later.
    2. Freddy is absolutely broken. For a forum that supposedly prays at the altar of balance, Freddy is blatantly imbalanced. He is a killer who can insta teleport to any generator on the map. Combine this with BBQ and Chili and you have a wall hack with teleportation. I could live with that though. Something that needs to be changed is fake pallets. The problem with fake pallets is that this is one the strongest defenses for a survivor. What else do they really have besides nerfed windows? So if you are a runner and try to be smart about it, something you do is plot your route to where pallets may be. Going to one of the only places with defenses and there not being a pallet, completely counteracts any "mindgames" or skill within the game. It also puts a further nail in the coffin for solo survivors.
    3. Many survivor perks need some love and attention. If you think the game is in a healthy state with a 75 percent kill rate and it actually needs to be more, please stop requesting increase to gen times or to more progress bar simulator. By far, the most boring thing in the entire world, is staring at a progress bars match after match. I really don't think increasing these would really make the game "fun" or "balanced", but will just make the game significantly less fun to play. With that said, many survivor perks need to be buffed. The devs need to make some perks that allow the survivor to play differently and allow more combinations that increase survival, or even just the fun factor. I feel the head on was a step in the right direction, but it still is an absolutely trash perk that takes way too long to get set.
    4. This is the major one. For many people who keep saying that killer is too weak, do not care about facts or balance - they only care about being able to reliably 4k every single game to be in the "power role". I said this 16 months ago and I'll say it again - many people who post on here will never be happy with the balance of the game until survivors have no defenses, no good perks, and all items are trash tier. That's not a meme, that's the reality that you can see here.

I honestly just hope the Devs try to move towards a philosophy of fun for both sides, rather than just trying to increase progress bar simulator and pad out 4k rates. Because the game is increasingly becoming less and less fun to play. Hits through pallets, wall hacks, constant insta-downs, increase in progress bar simulator, constant nerfing of perks, and not releasing perks that help to fundamentally change the way you play.

You do realise that it takes Freddy 8 seconds to teleport to a gen? That's plenty of time for you to run, not to mention you see blood spewing off the generators. Also the cooldown for the teleporting is very long unless all survivors are asleep and if he's running those addons. Freddy is almost an m1 killer when you are awake. I get that it may take an extra 20 seconds to wake up but saying he's the most unbalanced killer is not true.

Only thing that needs changing about Freddy is his slowdown addons.

I never went against that many lagswitcher. And most of the time I couldn't even tell for sure if it's on purpose, his connection just having a hiccup or my connection having a hiccup.

I personally have more issues with dedicated servers tho, hitboxes (or lets better say hitdetection) are insane now.

Yeah there is no denying that dedicated servers still need some tweaks/polishing but lag switching was a massive problem for me. it was easy to tell it was lag switching as whenever the killer got into a chase with any survivor the game would mysteriously lag and as soon as the survivor was downed the connection would go back to normal. XD

  • I hope so. It's nice not going up against lag switching killers who deny that they are cheating and act big headed because they got a "legitimate win"

  • Looking at all these suggestions I agree with what everyone has suggested. The super grindy challenges really should be optional but since they are not optional they should have better rewards. 25 000 bloodpoints and 15 seconds of lore isn't worth doing a tedious challenge in my eyes. Maybe if they gave 100 shards instead of bloodpoints then it would be better.

Also yeah I 100% agree, get rid of end game challenges. Stupidest idea ever. @Aven_Fallen
