Wait y sprint bursts? I would have said adrenaline sprint burst doesn't make sense at all

    lol, i was being sarcastic.

The only way the exchange for bt and isidious works if you assume that camping is OK because you THINK someone has BT, you have no way to detemine until its already proc'd..

I thought this was a thread of stupid ideas.

I'd say Adrenaline over Sprint Burst, one puts you from one hit to two, the other puts you from two hits to one.

    lol, i was being sarcastic.

The only way the exchange for bt and isidious works if you assume that camping is OK because you THINK someone has BT, you have no way to detemine until its already proc'd..

It's an arbitrary exchange, hardly a flushed out idea.

It reminds of a killer once saying back in the day that once infinites were removed, there would be no reason to camp people anymore. I lol'd because he had no concept of how people have the capacity to kid themselves that they are right.

People will ACTIVELY work against a truth, even if it counters their belief system.

If you think someone is about to go for a save, stand still and then go for the attack once they save.

Onto the point of the post, it needs a rework definitely.

Like if you removed noed you should remove sprint burst too.

  • @batax90 said:

Insidious is there for all the player who like camping and its there to counter borrow time i think if you remove insidious you should remove borrow time

How does that even remotely make sense as a counter?

I have been disconected from matches 2 times now due problems on behavoirs end, bugs, game crashes etcetra. and i suddenly have to wait 5 hours to play this game again, it doesnt make any sense. getting punished for the game not working

If you're on steam, look into 'family share' for your computer.

If the devs can't fix their rank up errors and random disconnects, then the player base will just have to manage it themselves.

And what did they nerf because of that??? Ruin, and up until now as they've been losing oh so many killers, they recognised that they had to give them a buff or they are just going to quit.

It's also wierd a rank 1 survivor is killer minded, isn't it? Or maybe I'm unbiased and I track every single game I play and put them into stats to see my survival rate against killers.

By what unit of metric do you determine that the game is losing all these killers?

I get games quickly as survivor but have to wait for my killer games.

See how anecdotal subjective talking points work?

You know before this game went to servers, I would see 2/3 survivors for every 1 killer looking for games. You NEVER had the inverse, of too many survivors.

    Rank 1 survivor huh?

    Wanna hear a story:

Tru3 (streamer) made rank 1 survivor at release. During the ENTIRE time he progressed he went on and on about how survivors are supposed to play 'sneaky sneak', that you weren't supposed to interact with the killer etc. What anyone with half a brain now realises is that sneaky sneak is BORING. If the whole emergent 'juking' phenomena hadn't taken off, survivors would have left this game LONG ago.

The point being is Tru3 is a killer main, his talking points are tribalistic and biased. Tru3 is one of the PROBLEMS in this game currently, especially with him whining, now that killers have gotten some push back. Despite his regular 4k's, despite the metric that's made killer easier to date.

  • What annoys me is that these issues were pointed out BEFORE d/c penalties were introduced.

    Yet here we are......

  • @designator said:

It is year 2022. Survivors now spawn in the dying state. Killer mains unanimously declared unbreakable a crutch and it was promptly nerfed. Now the only way for survivors to escape is if one can find the hatch before the killer finishes sacrificing the other 3.

    Not gonna lie.

    You won the internet today.

Did you not see the amount of people who asked for a Deathslinger buff? Or for Hangmans to remain the same? Or for Ruin to stay the same and that its change was only positive for few killers?

They definitely do not only hear killer mains, if they did we would be in a game that was killer sided and not survivor sided.

My god, Im replying to you again, because your takes scratch the itch of the lesser minded people on this forum, hence your upvotes from this killer echo room.

Your hot takes are so easy to counter based soley off the '2 escape, 2 kill' metric that if I was to highlight the trajectory of the game to you, I'd probably get a blank stare because its so clear to me that you haven't been playing this game since release.

  • @CJ46 said:

Why do survivors keep getting nerfed and killers are saying things like "try play against red ranks" i may only be a rank 9 killer but i've played against full lobby of red rank survivors countless times, most of the times sfw, and i never get less then a 2k, usually a 3k with the 4th person getting hatch, like seriously hitboxes are broke af and people get hit across the map and you're removing good loops ? i don't get what the devs are doing, stop saying this new update will "balance the game" because in reality killers are too OP as it is especially with specific builds. what killers are OP ? I'll tell you, doctor, freddy, myers (with infinite tier 3 or insta mori) and specific builds they can be even better, even deathslinger is up for debate because of hitboxes. :D i can hear the killer mains typing already

This forum is a killer echo room.

Your won't receive any healthy takes, or at least not many. Just be thankful were not on DBD reddit anymore. Where the killer echo room would down vote good takes on survivors and upvote simple minded memes for killers.

Just like you see here, minus the upvote/down vote.

    Ok then.

Rank 1 survivor here with proof:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/609/O4JG0UMI37R4.png

This mid chapter patch removed arguably the biggest problem in the game besides Freddy.

The last few patches prior have been survivor sided, especially with Hex Ruin, only three months before this patch.

Also many killers still have the bug where their first lunge is shorter, but when we had that doc bug with decisive strike, fixed within a day.

The game is still survivor sided with infinites gone, but this is the first killer buff in a while.

Your post is like one of those out of context vid clips, thats supposed to emotionally trigger people to action who don't have the capacity to step back and analyse.

In other words, ignoring the fact that killers are up around 70% kills as of November stats and the devs have had to push back on that based on their own metrics '2 escapes, 2 kills'. The metrics of which have made killer easier now then at any point in the history of the game.

    Try your analysis again.

  • @Reborn2020 said:

Pretty sure this has been fixed bud. This happened a long time ago, and I havent experienced this bug or seen people complaining about it. Youre just a troll, I doubt the devs will delete your comment at all.

    Also GhostAface?

So you have no idea what your talking about.

I can also just repeat: It is about finishing a dead game. what else should I say?

"Just lol" - Survivors objective is to finish gens and open gates. Killers objective is to kill survivors before tehy do it. Survivors hide, dont do their objectives. Killer TRIES to do his objective for like 15 minutes after occassionally stumbling over a survivor.

You can't even quote yourself properly.

'Killers objective is to kill', now BY YOUR OWN LOGIC it should be a 'survivors job to survive'

The disconnect you have between the 2 is so fascinating, seriously.

We already have EGC, but you want things easier?

  • @Deadeye said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1207741#Comment_1207741

I really don't see how the killer can be blamed for survivors doing nothing. You just requested a killer to "not play that good, or the survivors will play crap. Pls mess up some chases on purpose". Or do you think facecamping is totally fine when that survivor just looped the killer for 4 gens?

Last survivor isn't the problem. EGC is up and takes 2 minutes, then the game ends. The problem is, as I already said, 2 survivors holding the game hostage (I know it is not bannable, I'm talking about the lame a** boring match they create).

And this is totally not about "EZ" kills. Just let the devs end the game without escape points for the survivors and hook points for the killer. Just end the game when noone is doing anything because it is boring af. And the comparison is a bit strange. The killer is playing as he is supposed to play and the survivor is not playing as he is supposed to play, but you call it both "play as they want" and just blame the killer

You're just conflating points I made or misrepresenting them again.

I'll stick with your arguments are bad faith, because I'm just going to have to repeat myself. Your arguing that I'm taking sides when all I'm doing is pointing out THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT YOUR DOING. You need some introspection, that's all I can really finish with.

You play how you want to play, don't expect others to play how you want them to.

'The killer is playing as he is supposed to play and the survivor is not playing as he is supposed to play' lol... just lol.

The survivors are trying to survive against a sweaty killer it sounds like. *Mind Blown*

    gg.

  • @ChosenPython46 said:

Please explain to me why killers get their needs and survivors don’t?

This forum is mainly a killer echo room, so you wont get much insight for your question.

There are a few robust survivor mains that make great arguments that tends to eat the killer mains alive, because all those killer sheep do is regurgitate tribalistic narrative talking points.

Pay attention to those posters, to see some healthy push back.

  • @Claudette_Baguette said:

While killer is a miserable experience to play at rank one there's one thing I despise more than that. SOLO SURVIVOR.

I have 3000+ hours in this game (killer and survivor player 50/50) and the amount of STUPID survivors at rank 1 is unbelievable.

This just happened to me: One survivor gets grabbed off a totem with thrill of the hunt against a pig, where you have plenty of time to react when she stands up and you know she sees that you cleanse a totem. Then they dc before you can unhook them because yeah its the killer fault you play badly and YOU entitled piece of ... DC because of that. Second guy gets downed immediately, kills themselves on the hook. Then there's me who jukes the killer for legit 5 mins because the killer decides to tryhard. I wonder what the last guy is doing all this time, I mean he could have finished the last 4 gens by that time. I get hooked, last guy does nothing, I see him in a corner crouching waiting for me to die so he can get hatch.

    I derank for that.

That's just one of many examples of how BAD solo survivor is. Without SWF and a competent team (well I don't demand survivors that are PRO players that know everything in this game and play perfectly, at least a team that's not STUPID) makes things so much better, so much more chill, etc. Just having survivors that don't DC immediately, unhook you in front of the killer or do other stupid ######### makes this game a lot better. Just NORMAL survivors that try to win and play well for their team.

I don't know why the devs don't take hours played in this game for their matchmaking. I don't want to get matched up with other survivors with 130 hours in this game at rank 1, with their rank 18 SWF friend and another guy who does nothing because he is scared of the terror radius. Also, finally don't punish me if other survivors DC which makes me lose ranks as a survivor (killer too!).

I'd respect this forum more if the average poster could distinguish between swf and soloq, but it ALWAYS comes down to survivor vs killer.

From there the majority of arguments just become tribalistic talking points that achieve nothing.

  • @Deadeye said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1207427#Comment_1207427

And I seriously don't think that people will stop hiding. They are afraid of Mori, of infinite Tier 3 Myers or whatever. If they want to escape through the hatch, they gonna hide. And it is not uncommon that the last 2 survivors do that, and this is not based on killer gamestyle, this is the survivors game style. In fact, I'd even say if killers are TOO effective, then this behaviour will happen

I think this is getting somewhere.

You admit that if killers are TOO effective, its liable to trigger this behaviour, but its only survivors who are responsible. I think you need to unpack that more.

As a side point, if i'm last survivor and hatch is closed and im not in a position to get to an exit gate quickly and its against a high mobility killer. I'll farm totems/hooks/whatever till game close. You could argue that this is due to 'survivor behaviour' and Im not playing the game the 'way its intended' hell maybe you'd say that Im holding the game hostage (for a short period of time) OR acknowledge that the devs made the decision, to introduce EGC due to killers whining about survivors GENUINELY holding the game hostage.

So, you already got your wish, but it sounds like you want it to be MORE easy for you?

You play how you want to play but don't expect others to play how you want them to play.

  • @sulaiman said:

Well, since you think balance is magic, i dont think i have anything more to say.

Now now, don't be like that.

We can have a conversation about balance, but we need to get past your tribalistic talking points first.

Which AREN'T about balance, I mean if you said something to the effect of killer is like an action movie where as survivor is like suspense/thriller. Even if you'd gone with its a 4v1, so killers have more to do, but survivors have to do more with less.

But whatever, at this point I'm doing your job for you.

  • @Reborn2020 said:

Would be nice to improve matchmaking to compete with equal skilled players .Either that or your game is too killer sided.

  • @sulaiman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1207617#Comment_1207617

Well, thats true, but has nothing to do with my post. That killer is easier now dosnt mean its balanced. Beside, survivor is still a lot easier than killer, and less stessfull.

So, given the trajectory of the game is there a magical point where your little theory doesn't hold, or does it just continue, forever, until the end of time.

  • @sulaiman said:

Well, the point is that survivor is far easier than killer. Killer really have issues with the balance, thats why you see those posts about killers and not survivors. And yes, they come from people who experience both sides. Give it a try, and you might learn.

    lol

Killer is easier to play now then at any point after release.

Take a DBD history lesson, give it a try, and you might learn.

  • These posts have been around for awhile, usually its a killer main stating they play 'both sides equally'.

Curious if you've done a similar post for survivor and link it to me, because it would change my entire opinion of the OP.

  • @ZarosNozara said:

Maybe something like, if the killer remains within terror radius of a survivor on hook for more than 5 seconds he loses 50% speed for x amount of time.

Before you say it's not fair, we all know camping is incredibly toxic, and survivors get birds fly over their heads if they camp too long. So why should survivors get penalized for camping, but not killers?

This forum is a killer echo room predominantly, you'll hear a lot about how killers are oppressed and not much else.

Occasionally, you'll get some solid survivors with good information pointing to relevant stats. But you can expect a bunch of killer replies stating that, when summarised equate to 'Stats aren't facts but here's my anecdotal subjective point I think is more relevant'.

My advice is wait for those posts and get behind them because, if anything, its funny watching other people squirm when good information breaks their reality.

  • @Galklife said:

well youre new to the game i guess AND youre biased af to say "fix game" with "buff my side" in mind xd, game has so many bugs and those needs fixes, but you dont want fixes you want buffs xd change your wording xd

2nd killers are in best state they ever have been(maybe except nurse) xd if you feel game is unfair (not because youre playing bad) how would you feel when i started playing xd like 2,5 years ago xd or even earlier

i just hate reading posts from ppl that are crying only because they cant win (from both sides) xd not because sth rly is wrong, but because they didnt win xd do i think SWF is strong? yes, do i think killers in current str are strong vs most soloQ players(on every rank)? yes, do i think its possible to ballance game around every single playerlevel ? NO

and talking about legion and fast games, YOURE LEGION AND YOU DIDNT STALLED GAME xd excuse me but its not swf fault you cant slowdown game with killer that is made to slowdown game xd

If the average killer had your temperament this game would be in a FAR better place.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1203319#Comment_1203319

Exactly my thoughts. We need more Interactions, not less. I feel like at this point, as a survivor you are expected to play against design choices instead of with them. You somehow have to be able to magically juke the hell out of the killer despite the very limited tools to do so. When they take the recources from survivors, you should just juke harder. Only that "jukes" were never really endorsed by the devs and have no mechanic to follow. It's very counter intuitive and not what the Game presents to you as a core Feature. It's literally a desperate band-aid because without enough pallets, vaults and situational perks, there's nothing left in the Game itself except trying to spin around in a circle 2 times.

At release the devs were having games with Tru3 (streamer).

At those times devs talked about how they expected survivors to play 'sneaky sneak' and were genuinely surprised by the emergent gameplay of 'juking' etc. Tru then spent the better part of this games initial year talking about how survivors 'were doing wrong' explaining that survivors should play more sneaky sneak.

For ANYONE who has put anytime into this game, they will tell you the whole horror/sneaking aspect gets old and boring fast. It's the interactions between killers/survivors that has been part of keeping this game relevant.

My point being, that this games success has been born almost in spite of itself.

Like what, edit out the pointless flaming?

And I said something to this: It is not the point in this discussion. This is not to address lazy or sweaty killers or ... and I don't even get where you read this "entitled 4k" thing from this post again. But this is about the kind of "taking game hostage" that should be addressed. It is on the survivors side to end the game, all the killer can do is find them. And that is pretty hard if survivors don't do anything. You can't really be serious when you say "the killer doesn't deserve the 4k so it is fine if two 'lazy' survivors just sit in the corner waiting for the other one to die"

I might miss something you want to say, because your second sentence doesn't make sense. Not trying to be the teacher, I'm not english main either, but after an 'if' there should be a 'then'. The second half of the sentence is a bit messed up, not sure if I get that or if you should rephrase it. The quotation for me just contains pointless flaming, not sure what this 'is telling' and I don't find a fact at all.

The second sentence makes perfect sense if you DIDN'T edit my original post you were replying too. So either you forgot or your arguing in bad faith.

In short, if killers managed their games more effectively then people wouldn't WANT to hide. But what that means is that someone requires to have a sense of agency within themselves. It's much easier to have tribalistic tendencies and blame the 'other' then expect someone in authority to 'fix it' for you.

If you go take a look at the patch notes, you will see that I'm right.

    Right.

If we take a limited perspective and ignore the holistic information across the games timeline, your absolutely right.....

  • @OtakuBurrito said:

They'll throw the game and report you for sand bagging most likely. Solor survivor is beyond dead after these change go through. SWF will be the standard unless you want to lose your sanity.

If you're on steam you can look into 'family share'. Its an effective tool to manage your d/c penalties if you get into bad games you want to leave.

  • @Deadeye said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1203972#Comment_1203972

The last one isn't the problem, killer can go find the hatch first and trigger endgame. The problem is 2 survivors left and both waiting for the other one to die.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1204030#Comment_1204030

Then your experience isn't the whole story. This is not about whiney killers that don't wanna search. This is about two survivors waiting for the other one to die. Like taking the game hostage. I know, this is not "Taking hostage" by definition, but it gets close to it and is simply a waste of time. I bet you would also say, with two survivors left, one being trapped by the killer in a corner and not moving anymore, that this is close to taking hostage, although "by definition" the other survivor could simply finish gens, open gate and trigger endgame. Still a stupid and boring move.

So I think both cases should be addressed, although I didn't ever see the second one. But killers not moving for a minute should lose their hitbox, and survivors should get crows when no objective gets done. At what time and which conditions is debatable. And it should be a team thing. If someone is on death hook, he is fine to hide and wait, to probably go for unhooks if needed or whatever. If the rest of the team goes on with gens, totems and whatever, all is fine. Just if noone touches anything. And maybe even a single crow is sufficient. Audio is enough to find them, no 3 crows needed.

I love how you edited out the rest of my post.....

If sweaty killers want to whine about not finding hiding survivors that aren't getting points and just waiting for hatch, the fact the go for some people is 'poor killer needs devs help to make things even easier' is telling.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/142967/inner-strength-vs-self-care-by-the-numbers-why-all-the-self-care-hate

Self Care is incredibly bad because of the Opportunity Cost.. You're not doing anything at all for that entire time.

Doing a gen injured is better.

    Saving someone is better.

    Healing someone else is better.

    Imagine this situation:

Someone is on the hook. Two are injured. And the 4th is on a gen.

Should you both Self Care? Or should one of you heal the other, so the healed person can make the save. Then the injured person finishes the gen with the 4th. And the 4th heals you. If you play like this, you'll be Rank 1. That's all it requires.

People lose because they go hide in the corner of the map self-caring. And they win because their team carried them hard.

Self Care is bad because the Opportunity Cost is really high.

A lot of that comes under situational awareness. When and when not to heal.

I had a match today in Badham Preschool where i killed two survivors and the last two just hid, no gens were touched, no chests were open, no totems were broken, they legit were able to scout me out and hide so well that crows would not prompt because they were always moving. This went on for over 10 minutes and i was finally able to find one.

I suggest having the devs implement something that limits survivors from doing absolutely nothing. In Identity V, a survivor can hide for X amount of time and if they do not do any objective ie. Cipher,Chests, chairs. The hunter will get a notification to get the game going.

    Thoughts?

Killers whine if survivors hide, killers whine when survivors lead them on chases.

I suspect killers would be happy if survivors would just run in a straight line, out in the open.

In my experience, if your a sweaty killer, survivors hide. If survivors know they can get unhooks without camping and tunneling being a concern, they won't hide, cause they get points.

    Let's dance.

    trajectory this game

Infinites gone, vaulting/perk/map/pallet nerfs, bloodlust added, end game timer added, hatch close added. All this has made being killer easier and survivor harder since release.

2 escapes, 2 kills is the devs unit of metric. You don’t have to like that but it’s whats given the survivors all their nerfs and all the killers current buffs.

You look at the SB vs. NOED debates that happend at release all those years ago. SB now is mediocre at best where as NOED is still a high tier perk.

Killers now are up around 70% kills due to the trajectory of the game and the devs metric system, unless you feel their metric system is bad, in which case they can undo all the changes I've just mentioned....

It's only been recently that killers have started getting push back from devs because the state of the game is disconnecting survivors who know a game is going to end in a 4k so why bother for 3k BP.

And what do we see? Thread after thread recently of nurse players whining, legion players whining, spirit players whining. People talk about salty survivors alot in this forum but ignore the elephant in the room.

Take your time now, feel free to respond when your ready.

We got 1 killer sided patch, wooo, the horror !

But we're ignoring that probably the next 1-2 patches will be survivor sided, because devs always go back and forth to buff and nerf both sides ?

Well you haven't been playing since release if that's your take.😑

  • The devs are killer focused, the games marketing and dlc ALL center around new killers, survivors are just reskins, there's no money in them. As such most people who are committed to this game have a killer focus.

You wont find much push back against killers here.

Guess you'll have to learn to loop windows instead of pallet camping. Learn how to mind game and actually get better at the game overall. Killer's had to adapt with no Ruin and did fine. Now it's your turn with limited resources.

    ROFL.

    EGC?

    Hatch close?

    Recently...

Please respond, I want to blow you up with survivor nerfs relative to killer.

    I dare you.

If it's not going to work then let everyone play the ptb as much as possible so the devs can get some data and see what needs changing.

Moaning about these changes 24 hours into the ptb isn't going to change the devs position as there is no proof.

As for a few of the 'there should be more pallets not less' comments. For the game to survive, nobody should be able to run killers for minutes at a time. The games health will deplete and people will stop playing the game. They have to balance for both sides to be fun, not just survivors feeling good about chasing a killer for 4 gens.

I'd rather just play something else if its as bad as he says it is.

I'll come back when (if) the monkey's fix it.

I have an idea, how about survivors dont run towards dead zones, or plan escapes? Hell consider dragging the killer to a deadzone so he has to waste time on you rather than whine because you cant pallet stun flashlight stun the killer every 5 seconds.

What a totally naive comment. What rank are you?

A smart killer is not going to fall for that, further more, in trying to imagine a scenario where your idea would even play out, I could only see it happening on low rank games, a rank 1- 10 killer would have far to much situational awareness to get caught on a stupid chase in a dead zone for no reason.

    😴

From statistics, you get a 4man not even every 10 games. Over 50% of the playerbase is playing solo survivor, again, according to offcial statistics. It is not nearly as bas as you think.

This is what is so insane about what the devs have done in mismanaging this community, they've created a fundamental disconnect in the average killer by repeatedly nerfing survivor relative to killer.

The tribalism is so insane that even when you point out cold hard facts to them like this, a part of their brain melts and responds with 'nah'.

  • TLDR: Make killer easier

Get off your knees, your supposed to be a you know... killer 🙄

  • @Todgeweiht said:

Remember kids, we dont care as long as it does not affect killer experience, because remember, killers are oppressed!

    Underrated comment.

  • Devs screwing over solo Q survivors again? Why am I not surprised.

  • *chest thumping*

In short, only 'leet' players hate on self-care because they have the skills to run a game without it.

    Now back to reality.

It's a safe heal (situation permitting) that is a good back up for when your out of position and you can't find someone close through Bond (or w/e).

I've seen games where survivors refuse to heal that may be due to many reasons but I weigh part of that is wanting to be a 'dark souls' leet gamer.

Self-care is fine but people virtue signal they don't 'need' it, just so they dont get called soft.

OP crying because he lost the only loops that made him good. Get used to it.

The fact you lack reading comprehension was bad, but the fact you got so many upvotes by people who clearly know even less. Is just alarming.
