I would love if they tool second stage button smashing out.
It would save my hand big time T.T
Maybe they can make it a hold? Like 'hold X to struggle'?

Title. It feels like every other game has a survivor team who just holds M1 and does all the gens in 5 mins. The only counter I found is being Gen Slow Freddy, but it's such a boring build IMO that I just loose all fun playing it. Tru3 on twitter even said he's done playing killer because of how bad it's gotten. I shouldn't have too play a boring build just too have a chance at red ranks.
Something needs too be done with gens too make killer actually fun again. You either run a super gen slow build and make them game lasts 10 years and become bored out of your mind, or play a fun build but loose after 5 mins. I don't know what exactly needs too be done, whether it's more gen time or nerf too toolboxes and Prove Thyself, but something needs too be done so red ranks don't feel so miserable.
Agree. Heck once I reach Rank 8 as killer I stop playing until reset. The games become too much and I just get bullied :( I'm not the best killer... but it discourages me from continuing when I am forced to be sweaty and play with specific perks.
When you have no choice but to run a perk for games to be decent, that is an big problem and I hope the devs address it soon. Perks should give the killer abilities, not make the matches playable.

Optimal swf groups won't have much of a benefit from that because optimal swf groups are already communicating every relevant information to each other. Kindred doesn't provide any more information than having voice coms, that's why you will NEVER see kindred used in a competent 4 men swf group on coms
Reading through this forum I see two sides being argued.
- Base kit Kindred should be a non-issue since it is allowing solo survivors to have the same information as a swf who don't run Kindred at all.
- Kindred as base kit is a buff to the survivor role overall and essentially a 5th perk slot for all survivors, solo and swf.
Instead of making Kindred base kit, what would everyone think of making open coms for all survivors, and then balancing the killer role around that?
(Of course people would have the option to turn coms off because not everyone enjoys talking).

Can either of you explain who yellow eyes or Lilith are or this it contain spoilers? I do plan on eventually watching it one day.
Without any major spoilers, they are high level demons :)
It is a fun watch! Don't take it too seriously tho ^^ It can be a bit goofy sometimes but I love all the characters and the story. (Plus Dean is smoking hot).

You're not getting it. Kindred as basekit doesn't buff swf in any way. The only effect it has is that solo queue will have as much information as swf without wasting a perk slot. Tell me how kindred as basekit will buff swf
You are only looking at small picture stuff. I am not a game developer but I understand basic balancing. You can't make such a big change without changing a lot of other things... and yes it is a big change.
Kindred base kit buffs the survivor role as a WHOLE. You literally just pointed out the issue. Giving everyone Kindred base kit is giving everyone a 5th perk slot. That buffs the survivor ROLE.
This game was designed so survivors had limited information. If you want that information (kindred, bond, empathy, spine chill, small game, etc) you have to use a perk slot.
Asking for Kindred to be base kit so 'you don't waste a perk slot' is big deal. 4 survivors ×5 perks each. The killer is now going up against 4 people with 20 perks between them, one being one the best aura reading perks in the game.
Please, tell me, what do you think would need to be done to balance the game if Kindred became base kit?

You're making no sense. Swf already have kindred for free because they can say who's going for the unhook and whether or not the killer is camping. Giving this to all players wouldn't change much.
You are not looking at the big picture. It changes everything.
You buff solo survivors, you buff the survivor role as a whole.
I am not against survivors being spoon fed all thr information they desire. However you can't just leave the killer in the dust.
If Kindred is base kit, what do you think would be needed to balance the game after such a change?
Slower gen repair? More gens? Hex perks are no longer tied to totems? Maybe survivors have a one hit down? Faster killer speed? Less loops?
-
Sam and Dean Winchester with a generic werewolf, vampire, or demon as the killer :D
-
People keep asking to close the gap between solo and swf and I don't think you all realise what you are asking for is really a buff to survivors in a big way.
If you make changes for solo survivor purposes, you only make sfw stronger... it is an endless power creep that is one sided.
You forget perks are just that... perks. You are meant to pick and choose between abilities. Asking to make Kindred base kit is asking for survivors to have a 5th perk slot, and a powerful one at that... oh and times that by 4. So now you have 4 survivors with 20 perks between them and the ability to be on coms.
The killer has 4 perks, no one to help them, and their most powerful perks cam be removed minutes into a game (hex totems) and can be negated with jumping into a locker (Chilli).
What would your suggestion be to help balance the game with your Kindred base kit idea in play?
-
I would love to see some cool items as charms. Such as a cell phone, knife, coin purse, cross, bible, mini flashlight, water bottle, air freshener, animal skulls, etc!
For Xmas they could make charms like gingerbread man, Christmas tree, snowmen, reindeer, xmas lights, stockings, etc ^^
Also the pride charms are an awesome idea! I would like to add countries flags could also be fun charm ideas.

Is cancelling a perk with a cheap addon really fair?
There is a difference between canceling a perk, and not having a chance to use a perk which is what tge original post was talking about.
Moris don't let you use ANY perks. You are dead.
People seem to think perks should be applicable 100% of the time and if they don't get to use it then something is wrong with the game...

There was a lot of uproar with Tome 3 being too difficult. The changes the dev made were reasonable and seemed to make people happy, however I personally enjoy very difficult/ grindy challenges and I know I'm not the only one.
Would the devs consider creating a extra ultra challenging Tome for those who are into that kind of thing?
It could be optional and not tied to lore or the rift. Maybe upon completion a unique charm is given? Or maybe just extra shards/ blood points?

Here is the thing though, if you are going to ship a patch with two known bugs that basically make the game unplayable for survivors, then you as a company are saying that half of the community can get boned and you perfer money over trying to fix game destroying bugs.
They should have delayed the patch until they at minimum fixed the basement bug, I am 99% sure the community would be totally fine with them saying "Hey, we are delaying the chapter for the health of the game so we can fix a bug that makes survivor literally unplayable."
I 100% agree updates and new content should be delayed until they know for certain its good to go (at least with no game breaking bugs)!
If they said 'hey gotta delay the next chapeter' or 'hey guys we are only going to release two new chapters this years to ensure they are high quality and work on game health' I personally would be pumped :) quality over quantity right?
Again, not a programmer, but I am sure bugs show up after the patch is live and the devs have to scramble to get a fix... which I am sure they are doing for the basement bug as we speak.
I think OP was being harsh in their post towards Behaviour. Yes things need to be fixed, but they listen to the community and are trying to keep this game going!
At the end of the day we can all go play other games and do other things while they get this basement bug fixed. Personally I have just been avoiding the basement area lol ^^
-
Chilli requires you to a hook a survivor for it to go off. Deer Stalker has no pre-req.
Plus if your teammates haven't picked you up by the time the killer has chased and hooked another survivor that is just your teammates playing poorly.
Chilli is fine as is.
-
Let's be realistic here, DBD team is doing what they think is best for the game and its long term health. They are still here years later listening to their fans and trying to keep the game going. You know what it takes to keep going? Money!
Do things need fixing? Of course! If you pay attention the devs are fixing and changing things all time. Sometimes changes are great (Freddy rework/ Spirit Changes/ Kindred buff/Tome 3 changes/ etc), and sometimes things miss fire and need further work... such as the sprint burst bug, MoM when it launched and now its current state, and this basement bug is a huge pain!
The point is they hear us, and they are working to make this game the best it can be... and sometimes that won't align with what you think is best or in a time frame you deem reasonable.
I am no programmer but I think when there are bugs and such its not an easy fix. You have a team looking at everything as swhole, what went wrong where, and how to fix it without causing further game breaking stuff.
Tldr; you need to chill.
-
Not a good idea.
DS already counters tunneling and gives survivors extra time. It does what it is supposed to do. You won't always have a chance to use it, that is the risk of running it.
Canceling an add-on is a no go. Everyone has the right to use them and not loose them to an op perk.
What if people requested Franklin's to deplete items completely on hit?
Doesn't sound very fun or fair survivors eh?
-
Like a lot of people mention I would like to see DS get deactivated after a new person is hooked.
I would also like to add that DS deactivates when the survivor is healed a single health state.
-
If you are not having fun its best to play something else.

The thing is camping is literally griefing. You see it all the time. A killer gets mad he's not doing well or a survivor tbags him or loops him for too long, then he camps them. It doesn't matter what BHVR defines griefing as, because griefing has its own definition. BHVR might not punish it, but it's griefing.
As for survivors learning their "protections", getting caught is inevitable. There are things put in place to where if a killer cannot do well enough they are still able to catch a survivor. As for the others, people complained about the Kindred buff saying it was OP, and they also complain about DS and BT endlessly. It won't be long before they become a "problem".
Hot take: the killers existence is griefing.
Everything the killer does is to stop the survivors from succeeding at their goal. They can camp, they can tunnel, they can mori. They can do whatever they want to get the job done.
Same goes for the survivors. They can stun, loop, body block, etc. They can do whatever they want to survive.
What is fun/rewarding for one side, is at the detriment to other. Shocking!
But hey, I guess all those killers are just out their griefing making everyone's game experience miserable. What a bunch of jerks huh?
-
You had some bad matches, just move on or start equipping helpful perks. If it is that upsetting to you, don't play.
Camping and tunneling are part of the killer's toolbox of how to go about killing. Saying that they are an issue is the same as saying stuns and gen rushing are a problem. Sounds silly right?
Killers that strictly camp, should loose the game. Every single time... It is the worst strategy. If they don't loose it is because survivors didn't capitalize on the time and instead fell for the tactic.
You do know killers bait survivors into this right? Then they fall for it and blame their poor gameplay on the killer... Hm.
As for 'new people leaving the game because unfun camping and killing', then this game isn't for them. Like all multi player games there are going to be mechanics people don't like... and if they don't like them then don't play!
Maybe asymmetrical games are not your thing?
-
@Kuroner2 said:
You guys only know to complain... they tried to fix the issue... but never is enough for u guys..
I liked them as is and had no complaints.
You are right though, the devs cannot make everyone happy.
Maybe in the future they can make an extra hard challenge section for people who like the challenge/ grind ^^
-
You were playing effectively and that is all... were you in the area? Sure, but what do the survivors want? For you to pretend like you don't see what their doing? 🤣
... oh wait *flips through survivor's handbook for killers*... yep no, you should have walked away from hook, move to other side of map, and let the survivors heal one another and regroup. You messed up!
Kidding aside...people think camping is 'dirty' or cheating and it is not. Its part of any killers gameplay and the more you play you will learn when to camp and when to keep moving.
You clearly knew what to do in this situation and it paid off. People just like to blame others for their losses.
Low key, I had a survivor die on hook because his team didn't get them... a messaged popped up immediately calling me a trash camper.... I was on the other side of the map the whole time doing gen control... after that I stopped caring about salty messages and now just giggle at them.
Keep up the good work!
-
If we could select 2 at a time that would be amazing.
Too many times I have flipped between killer and survivor and forgot to change the challenge 😭

That's what I do, 5 gens (not letting the kill happen, they aren't getting no challenge done on my watch, they gotta earn it) then leave, I wouldn't make this post of it was once in a while but I've had 5 games in a row of it, that's my problem, 3 of them both survivors and killer sent horrible messages to me cause I ruined the challenge
Well that is wrong of them. Sorry people are giving you a hard time. If you don't want to farm that is your choice and they should respect it. Maybe best to turn your messages of for awhile?
Plus farming for challenges takes the fun out them (imo).
I reserve my farming for double blood point events ^^"
-
Some people like to farm and find it fun ^^
If you find yourself in a farm match point at a hook until the killer gets what you are asking for. If not, just complete 5 gens and escape.
-
They are challenges for a reason. They will take time, patience, skill, and some luck.
If you don't like challenges, don't do them (or spend your money on a rift pass).
-
You have your opinion and that is fine, but a lot of people are also happy with the challenges... they just don't voice their opinions on the forums.
People here keep blaming the challenges for causing toxicity and poor game play... really that is on the players themselves. Toxic people will be toxic (shock).
I am almost done tome 2 and I didn't have play dirty or sabotage a game to get it done. I just played normally and if I got my side quest completed, cool. I am sure a lot of other players are the same.
If the data shows things are too difficult or people are as unhappy as you claim they are, the devs will make a change.
-
They are challenges for a reason. They are not meant to be easy or purely skill based.
The issue is not the challenges but how people go about them. Some people have no patience and want to rush through it as fast as possible. Yes people DC when they know they can't get the challenge, or play toxic and destroy the match for others... and it sucks... but people just be that way.
I found Tome 1 and 2 fun and I didn't have to go out of my way to complete them. I am sure its like this for a lot of people, they just don't voice it here.
Heck I never play Trapper and got his challenges done over a weekend ^^
-
I would like this so I don't have to button mash ^^
-
The devs are doing what is best for the GAME, not 'survivor mains' or 'killer mains'.
Balancing an asymmetrical game is difficult. Yes some buffs/nerfs can be frustrating but nothing is permanent. Sometimes survivors have edge and sometimes the killer does.
People who 'main' have a hard time seeing the big picture and realising the devs are doing their best to keep this game fun, fair, and interesting for everyone.
Calm down!
-
I always love playing with my friends when they are on, but I do enjoy playing solo ^^
-
Maps, Small Game, and Detective Hunch. There are perks and items that help with totem count and location already.
Yes swf groups can call it out but as a solo it really isn't an issue.
Survivors are not suppose to have all the info at their finger tips, that is what makes sfw so powerful. People keep asking to 'close the gap' between solos and swf but that is just destroying the spirit of the game. There is suppose to be elements of the unknown... its a horror game after all!
-
If a killer is camping, as in staying in front of hook, it should be an easy game for the survivors.
Camping has its time/place, but if it is the killer's only strategy it is a poor one.
BT and DS can really help with this.
Alternatively Spine Chill is a big help for not getting caught and/or knowing when killer is heading back to hook if you are attempting a save.
At the end of the day DBD is a multiplayer asymmetrical game. What is fun for one side is to the detriment of the other. Just gotta go GG and move onto next match :)
-
The hex totems that spawn next to gens are the ones I find most frustrating.
I always thought it would be a nice to buff Corrupt Intervention to included totems as well ^^ That way if your Hex Totem is a bad spawn you have at least 2 minutes of safety before it is blown.
-
Its not an issue. I consider last survivor escaping by hatch a win when I play killer.
If someone wants to die for their friend then good for them :) Taking one for the team.
If it is really a problem then you should start looking for hatch when you are down to two survivors. Once you locate it you can play around it and use it to your advantage ^^
-
People DC because they are poor sports. Period.
Most people know what can happen in a match (camping, tunneling, hex blown early, swf gen rush or sabo, bad map, etc) and they decide to DC because its not going their way.
I have seen Survivors DC on their first down, their first hook, etc... and then cry camper/ tunneler.
I have also seen Killers DC as soon as their Ruin blows, too many gens pop in succession, or if the exit gates are opened.
The problem isn't camping and tunneling, the problem is people's mind set when it comes to this game. Sometimes you will have good matches, and sometimes it will be bad. Just move on and try to have fun.
Yes, camping and tunneling can be abused (like everything else) but its a strategy and you cannot punish for it. More so, a lot of people call camping and tunneling for everything and don't take into consideration everything else going on.
If I see scratch marks around a hooked survivor you bet I am staying in the area to flush them out! Call me a camper all you want but I am not going to play dumb so egos can be protected.
-
As many people suggested I would like to see DS changed so that once a new survivor is hooked, DS either resets completely or the cool down drops by 15 seconds.
BUT, I personally can live with it as it is now. If Survivors have to play around Chili, killers can play around DS.
-
Hag is Queen! Playing as or surviving against ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
-
The challenges have been leading to a lot of irregular play... but basement camping has always been around and it will remain when the challenge is gone. Easy counter is don't fall for basement camping.
-
The Yoki
The Fury
The Samurai
The Onryo
Might come back with a few more!
-
Not at all. I am very happy that and old chapter is getting some love (assuming that this new killer has something to do with Spirit's lore).
I am sure the devs have ideas for killers from other countries. They have a diverse cast of characters and I am sure they are not going to stop giving us characters from different countries/ franchises.
To be fair, a majority of the killers are North American based. It is nice if another country gets to double down ^^ why not Japan?
-
I don't think farming with 4 survivors is cheating.
Now if you farm with 3 survivors and purposely make 1 survivors life hell by picking on them as a group then yes, that is considered 'working with killer' and could get you a ban.

Self-Care is a waste of a slot. Bond is a way better healing perk.
100% yes!
Switching SC for Bond was the best decision I have ever made in DBD.
Bond gives you an insane amount of information. Who is being chased by killer, who is going for hook save, who is on nearby gen, who can heal me or use a heal, etc. I can even see who is sitting around doing nothing so I can go shame point at them.
Self Care is a major time waste... if you don't want to run Bond then just bring a med kit and use the slot for something more efficent.

As far as I know, no.
They can bring it white ward and keep their item if it is lost and while in game they can pick up and find new items.
Maybe the match was bugged?
I have never seen Franklins not work but I have seen my fair share of perks being buggy/ glitchy.

Well I know it's not gonna happen. I'm just venting about how god awful the game becomes on weekends when school is out.
I do notice a difference between weekends and weekdays. Summer time is the worst to play this game and I can only assume its because all the kids are out of school.
I would love (and pay) for an '25+ age server' lol, like a bar for video games ^^ However that isn't realistic I am guessing. Kids will just be kids.
Your best bet is to find an adult swf group :)
-
Making a game p2p wouldn't solve anything... just make people more unhappy overall. You would still have killers tunneling/camping/slugging... and you would be paying more money for it.
