  • 1 - love it! Especially with breakable walls! You could really surprise people that way.

2 - idk. Doesn't Pebble Throw perk create a false scratch mark trail already?

I have always wanted a perk for survivors that goes something likes this:

Upon successfully stunning or blinding the killer perk activates - scratch marks appear in a 10m radius around the killer (kind of like a scratch mark bomb went off). The perk has a 80 second cool down.

Adds a bit of extra confusion for the killer as they try and see which direction the survivor went in (or didnt).

3 - punishing survivors for missing a pallet stun would be harsh.

Demo and PH, both have cosmetics. But my boi Freddy has 0!

Yah Freddy can use some cosmetics too ^^

  • Jeff and Twins

And if I could pick a licensed character I would say Demo or PH!

  • For survivor my win condition is a safety pip or one pip. Idk... escaping shouldn't be the main goal as a survivor. One, its boring banging out gens and just leaving. Two, it encourages people to play selfishly. Escaping > teammates to a lot of people and that is sad :<

For killer it is just 'did I have fun'. Good chases, a few hooks, make some nice plays, and always nice when survivors are playing normal too. That kind of thing. Measuring fun by kills is icky (for me I know others live for it). If I get some kills cool but I am not going sweat for them.

Its sweaty try hard behavioir that ruins this game. Taken too seriously DBD becomes a headache. Look at the forums... full of salty peeps because 1 thing didn't go their way or they didn't 'win' to their standards... or even worse their win was 'stolen' from them because X Y Z reason (usually the killers fault).

Yeah i dislike a killer that just deletes you, if you dont have a pallet and window next to you 24/7

And dont get me started on his bs camping thats impossible to escape from.

    Camping from anyone sucks ;_;

Idk, maybe I have just run into unskilled Bubbas but I never have a big issue with him. Yah I have fallen for basement Bubba but who hasn't? Almost like a dbd right of passage hahaha ^^

If a Bubba is wasting time face camping me then my teammates usually slam gens and gtfo. If Bubba is playing normal he isn't that bad.

How much value are you getting from nurses? Usually not a good pick with 32m killers

    Very little value... I didn't even think about his Terror radius size ;_;

Thank you for pointing that out! Maybe I will replace it with a slow down perk or maybe Discordance

Crowd Control is not as good as people think, lemme explain why:

Giving a classic example THE SHACK: the survivor will vault the window and the entity will block it for several seconds, then you will either proceed to go right... left or vault by yourself. Now where is the what happens:

    • you vault the window with default speed and give the survivor time to run away, providing him with more time and maybe not even a dropped pallet.
    • You go right side to the nearest path to the pallet, but the survivor sees you and runs the opposite direction either circling the shack because the window is blocked or leaving the loop, concluding in more time wasted without actual result for you the killer.
    • You go to the second entrance and the survivor sees you and runs to the pallet, giving him even more distance to follow the back side of the shack and loop you at least 1 more time not even with dropping the pallet or you getting a hit.

Here is a drawn example of 2 of the points from above:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/UXI7U3UTMMMJ/image.png

And one more important thing to mention, the perk is a hex, even with all the negatives showcased above... it can be destroyed.

    Why is Bamboozle better?

You get a fast vaulting speed and also block the vault, giving the survivor less distance and you the ability to bruteforce the pallet, eliminating the mindgame that could waste your time and the entire loop. It's a drop or die scenario, lastly the perk never goes away since it's not a hex.

    Thank you for that breakdown!

If I run a Hex it is usually Devour, Ruin, and sometimes Noed. Most other Hexes don't seem worth the risk of running of them you know?

I love Bamboozle and currently have it on my Bubba!

  • @Edgars_Raven said:

Bubbas biggest weakness is vaults. Thus crowd control or baboozle are amazing on him

Dont let his ability to get rid of pallets quickly fool you. If the survivor is feeding you pallets get rid of 3 or 4 and go after someone else

Tinkerer is also an amzing perk on him

As for the curse, the most dangerous place to be in this game is at the bottom of basement stairs with a bubba at the top. A lot of people play to that strength, survivors dont like that so assume thats happening and dc

Right now I have Bamboozle, BBQ, Nurses, and Franklin's ^^

I will switch Franklin's out if I don't see a ton of items and exchange it with Devour or Corrupt depending on how I'm feeling.

  • @Ghouled_Mojo said:

Lethal pursuer is awesome on him. That is the perk name right?

I am trying to grind that exact perk out in the Blood web :D I am excited to try it on him!

  • Gloating or venting? Maybe both.

  • There is always 1 on the team... and sometimes it me ;_;

  • Keep Billy's chase music, but thats it.

Can we please have old Billy back? I miss playing against him :<

  • @DragonMasterDarren said:

I always test the waters whenever i load into a match, if the killer is capable of downing the first person they find quickly then i know i will likely have to keep on my toes, if not, then i know i can relax a bit

Totally. If 2 gens pop before the first hook I feel comfortable taking my time ^^

  • The "us vs them" mentality is sometimes too much and makes discussions with people unbearable. No one wants to talk most the time, they just want rant, complain, or fight blindly for a side :<

I love the game and community but sometimes I have to step away from the hate. When I post I do my best to keep things calm ^^"

That could be a whole other thread discussion tho and it would be like poking and wasps nests hahaha.

From my own personal experience playing Killer ... There are no friendly Survivors.

During the Event I decided randomly that I would like to learn how to play Nurse, I tried her once like 3-4 years ago around the first time I started to play DBD and I really hated her, but I figured now that I'm a Rank 1 Killer I can try to give her a try again and maybe it will go better.

I've now played probably around 50 matches with Nurse starting at Rank 1 since the Event started, using a Sacrificial Cake for BP boost every single round. I've deranked down to about Rank 6 multiple times, then I get my Rank back up playing other Killers when I finally get fed up...

HOWEVER, the point is, your story is exactly true to my experiences which is why I felt the need to comment:

I CANNOT EVEN BEGIN TO TELL YOU how clear it is that I am a TOTAL noob Nurse player, I mean I literally miss my Blinks point blank over and over again every single match, and one single Survivor can Loop me often for 3-5 gens...

You know what has happened to me a TON of times?

First of all, I get completely Gen Rushed, they don't even bother cleansing a single totem (I'm not using any Hexes)

Then, EVEN if I actually got my FIRST down AFTER all 5 gens have popped (which has happened to me many times now because how bad I am) they will use Flashlights, Flashbangs, and Bodyblocks to prevent me from even managing to get a SINGLE hook.

You know what, I don't even mind only getting 1 hook an entire match if that's the one person I've been chasing the entire game and finally downed them.. but when they rob me of even that small bit of pleasure so I can't even get a single hook and they all escape? Well..

That's when after a few matches I decide to hop on one of my Main Killers and get a 4K +2 pip 32k bp game. lol

I honestly don't know what the reason Survivors have (even when there are 4-5 Sacrificial Cake Offerings Active) to Bully a Baby Killer. I mean, if they just play around with me a little bit more and actually let me get some hits in, they'll still probably escape AND they'll get more BP too by doing so.

    First, I have only played nurse maybe 5 times and that is because for me it is humiliating ;_; I am down for practicing (that is how you get better) but every time I have tried her I get taunted and even mean messages after the match. Why can't I just play a new killer without being hated? I seem to have bad luck regarding survivors with her ;_;

But yah, even on my strongest killer I mess up from time to time but that doesn't bother me. If I get 1 or 2 hooks and the survivors were all good then I am happy! I don't take loses seriously. Its a game.

Last nights game just made me feel like whats the point? Which is rare, I usually don't get down when playing. I see a ton of forums on her about killers needing to play fairly and such so I was curious if on the survivor end people felt new/ learning killers should be treated nicely.

Thank you for your comment ♡ Keeping working on your nurse. She is my one of my favs to go against ^^ A good nurse gets the blood pumping!

God damn dude! It's actually really sad. I can literally SEE you trying to word this so you don't get attacked by survivor mains 🤣

Hahaha yaaaaaa. You are not wrong. What can I say, this community is a little sensitive and I don't want to step on toes, just wanna have a civil discussion.

Killer main, survivor main, or flex player, I want to hear all opinions without anyone feeling attacked.

  • @sulaiman said:

It depends on the killer, but if i have the time (aka the killer isnt just tunneling and camping) i usual hunt down all totems, open chests, and work a little on gens.

In a chase, i usually dont loop too much in one tile, and try to juke the killer (i like that better when i play killer than just running in circles around obstacles). I seldom bodyblock (unless he is tunneling or in a chase with someone on death hook, but then i try to switch places, not just annoy the killer), and i see no value in running around with a flashlight (but i will do pallet saves if i can).

I think this is taking it easy, but for some, even that might be toxic. Oh, and i NEVER teabagg, because i belive thats just an insult.

You sound like me when I play survivor ^^

No matter which side I'm playing I just want everyone to have a good time. It always makes me sad to see my teammates BM the killer or make the match as miserable as possible (im a solo). If I see that and I have gotten all my BPs and know I have pipped then I will let the killer chase and hook me as compensation for my teammates crap behavior.

  • @KerJuice said:

No, because every once in a blue I’ll run into that killer who wants to meme that he is chill or bad at the game, then ends up having NOED after the gens are done. Then he opens the exit gate and tries to get a late Bloodwarden by camping the downed survivor. I don’t trust any killer that seems that bad at the game, for me to take it easy on him.

Yah that has happened to me a few times ^^" I am always down to farm and rarely get farming killers so I jump at the chance... but then sometimes it is a noed/blood warden killer. At that point it doesn't really matter for me. Gens done and got some chases/pallet stuns so I got my BPs ^^

  • @Warcrafter4 said:

    In general the Short answer:no

Long answer: A lot survivors are sore winners so they try to harass/insult killers who are doing poorly. While most others won't give an inch and let the killer snowball a win.

So...Idk what you expected from this discussion.

I have seen a lot of threads talking about killers playing fairly or dialing it back if someone is new or there is a dc. Or rather people asking killers to chill the beans.

Was just curious if people do that on the survivor end as well and if they don't why not. I'm not asking survivors to throw games or play less then ideal. We all play how we wanna play ^^

  • This game is horny jail!!!! We are all trapped!!!

  • I wish it took survivors the same amount of time to stop regression as it does the killer to kick :<

  • @Zozzy I like that idea!!!

He certainly got a glow up, and my attention 😍

  • @Ryan489x said:

I'm not really good enough at the game to take it easy on a killer but I don't taunt them or abuse them. I ran a nurse pretty good today before matchmaking went to ######### and I didn't teabag or anything.

Running a killer or looping well is just normal game play tho. That is awesome you are good sport :D i have only played Nurse like 5 times... she is a very good killer but damn she is hard!!!

  • @ItzZane_ said:

Eh new killers & killers that play badly i go easy on them, But if the killer is getting kills It's looping time

Thats the spirit! Not asking for an ez game, but I didn't have a single hook and apparently it was body blocking time ^^" Save body blocking for 2nd or final hooks.

  • @SweetTerror said:

This has been a common problem with dead by daylight. Not only is matchmaking a problem in and of itself, but as a new player or just someone learning the ins and outs of a new killer, trying to practice in online sweaty matches does not make for a good learning tool. Which is why I'm ecstatic that they are finally adding in offline bot matches with the mid-chapter update. You'll be able to practice everything that you can in a normal online match.

A lot of people, including myself, don't have access to a plethora of friends that play this game so that we can get a custom game going to help us practice. There are killers I've never touched that I would love to try, but at the rank that I'm at, I'm going to get nothing but try hard sweaty matches, which is why I cannot wait for the offline bot matches.

That is happy news ^^ I didn't realize we were getting bot matches.

    It will be nice to play with bots and practice my weaker killers (Nemmy, Huntress, Slinger, Trickster and Michael). I always prefer playing with real people but with matches like that it just makes me feel bad for even trying a new killer ;_;

  • I always go for the unhooker but darn survivors can be fast and the one with BT gets the block.

I try so hard not to tunnel but its moments like that I am damn, what do you want from me? Hit the survivor with BT protection and then go for the unhooker? Because that is just not practical my dudes!

  • I understand why Stridor is a great perk for Spirit, but it doesn't make a good Spirit player. I used it on her once and it was more distracting then helpful.

I like the change. Hopefully people will stop crying about Spirit now.

  • Swamp.

It has potential to be creepier than The Game.

Just please keep fireflies dev... or add more!

  • @Vampwire said:

the only time i drop ds is when im trying to run fun builds and then i get reminded why i run ds

    That is the one meta perk I hardly used... and that is because I am really bad at hitting difficult checks ;_;

It is a very handy perk tho, especially if u get to use it at end game. I understand why so many people love it ^^

  • @cannonballB said:

I hate playing without Spine Chill. I consider it my "crutch" perk. It's so damn helpful for doing a gen. LOL

Spine Chill has to be one of the most powerful perks in the game. It isn't flashy and it doesn't make for clutch plays but the info it gives is crazy. I don't think I will never not use it ^^" Stealth killers are too spooky for me...

And I know that 6% boost isn't much but it still makes me feel good :P

  • @SPADESinst said:

Devour hope...but you got to understand the chance of having the combo of undying and devour hope completely snowball the entire team with 2-1 gens left is so fun. Do I need these perks? No, I'm fine without them but I will use them everytime time I get for the pay of the 50/50 chance it works. (I mainly only use it on lower killers tho)

For survivor? I gotta stop it with fixated. Simply walking around the killer always brings me into tears when it works LOL.

I haven't tried Fixated yet. Maybe I will give that go this week!

As for Devour I love playing with it ^^ On of the best balanced perks and it feels so good when you get the exposure up. Gives me shivers hahaha.

  • @feechima said:

Was spine chill. I still hate being the player GF stalks first or Myers tiers up on but I'm more aware of my surroundings and it rarely happens. Right now, I'm stuck on Iron Will and I don't see that changing as the newer survivors and even the old ones (had their volume cranked up) and are obnoxiously loud.

Yah Iron Will is almost a must have these days!

Oh so when do you do it? Before or after it actually tells you it's active?

I bring a map or Detective's Hunch. Not only do I get a ton of bloodpoints but no Noed... ever.

Funny how doing objectives works eh?

  • What? No reasonable counter play?

Damn, better nerf Hexes... no way to counter.

  • New to game?

Camping and tunneling is very common in lower ranks. Killers do not know how to play and they feel safer camping/ tunneling. It sucks but once you work your way up it gets better.

Yah you still get occasional jerks but it is not as bad as brown ranks ^^"

  • Didn't they have a post regarding the mid chapter update?

Besides the stuff they already mentioned hopefully the stutter will be fixed.

  • I just ran it on Nemmy and I had the first survivor down in 40 sec... super helpful and balanced (imo).

  • @Elena said:

    Inner Strength,

even when ranking up a new character, I always say to myself, this isn't finished until I get Inner Strength, I NEED Inner Strength.

I have been playing around with totem builds since Counterfource came out and I have learned Inner Strength is much better then I gave it credit for. For some reason I thought it was a one and done perk... im an idiot 😑

  • @Ace_Viscunti said:

Surprising one but I had a hard time with letting go with the perk Poised for some reason, I always got value from it A LOT. When I was in a chase, and if a gen popped I would have no scratch marks and I could get a easy getaway. I used to run it in every build I did, I stopped using it months ago lol.

Poised is one of those hidden gem perks. The value you get out of it is insane (especially paired with other perks like Iron Will). Its crazy how fast you can lose a survivor when you don't realize the scratch marks have vanished ^^"

Yes speed boost was exhausted, but the stagger was always reduced. I play dbd for the fluid mobility so that stagger was tilting me for a long time. Like damn you're telling me meg the 90lb athlete breaks her knees walking off this hill but the 400lb beer gut clown can jump off a building no stagger.

Fall noise problem was added specifically so BL would have a problem to solve lmao, game didn't have that before the nerf

I don't see why giving players the anti stagger would be an issue :< shame they changed it.

  • @Nazeef13 said:

Pre-nerf balanced.I almost quit the game after it was gone since mobility felt clunky and slow

That was when I was still starting out. Pre nerf Balance had it so you didn't stagger or make noise when you fell all the time, and the speed boost was the only part exhausted right?

Anytime i run discordance i regret taking it off for a few games

On survivor side giving up self care was rough. I still always bring something to heal myself with, just never selfcars

I love discordance! I flop between that and Surveillance ^^ it is always nice to have a gen location perk so you know where the pressure is.

I always have Bond on and that is usually enough to get healed up quick. However I have been playing with Resurgence and holy crap I love it! If you bring a medkit as well you can get quite a few uses with it combined with Resurgence ^^

  • @Torsti56 said:

Hardest was Self Care. In 2018 I let it go and next was Were Gonna Live Forever. I don't want those 24k games when I can have 42k games with that perk.

The reason I run BBQ is to get all my BPs and then I usually go dump them i to my survivors ^^ but if I only played survivor I would always have wglf on.

  • @AetherBytes said:

Self care. Still havent left it lmao, though i have learned to only use it only when its faster than looking for a heal or no objective is available.

You are one of the good ones!

I think its a fantastic perk but easily misused. Too many times I see people not letting me heal them because of it. Or there is one gen left and instead of starting gen they are self caring in the corner ;_; its painful to watch sometimes.

  • @SpookyPumpkinPiez said:

Self care. I used it up until I finally made it to rank 1. It's super useful but using bond to run to someone else to heal is faster.

That is exactly what I do. Bond gives waaaaay too much info. Who is near you on a gen, who can heal you, who the killer is chasing if they are near. If I am alone and someone is hooked across the map it is safe to assume the other two are closer to the hooked person then I.

Its every info perk rolled into one and when you slap Open Hand on top its insane. I am not sure why its not more popular ^^"

  • @TunnelVision said:

Oh good, I was feeling sorry thinking another poor soul wasted a perk slot thinking luck actually did more.

Why has this outdated mechanic not been touched, even tweaked once?

I understood the humor with the post... but I will admit that I thought luck helped spawn higher rarity items in chest ;__; I have been playing since 2018... kill me now.

Also good question... why hasn't luck been touched? I feel it could do a bit more without breaking anything.

Has another perk become your go to? Or are you trying to mix it up as much as possible?

  • @blue4zion said:

Premonition, I ran directly into the killer prob 90% of the time when I first started, and loved this perk enough to only use a survivor if they had it, as well as always being my first choice.

I thought Spine Chill was stupid, like "idc if he's looking at me, I need to know where he's coming from??"

Took me about a year to shake premonition and 2 years to realize Spine Chill's utility.

Now I can't shake that xD

That is so funny! Me too except I ran premonition once when I first started and had my swf group... they were like 'nonononononono, if u want a heads up perk use Spine Chill'. I was like okay weirdos.... yah they were right! Spine Chill is my new staple and I don't think I will ever drop it.

The couple games a month I do play without it I always get a stealth killer ^^" can never take off!!!!
