Even though it shows locked, are they available on all other killers?

Two reasons:
-Eruption 25sec of incapacitation is too strong to tank it. Its low cooldown also makes so that killers can charge another eruption 5 sec after you are finally free of its effect.
-Every other gen regressing perk has some way to deal with them. Only eruption remains uncounterable to SoloQ.
So you think you should always know exactly when eruption will trigger so you can completely negate it's main effect?

First of all, as i said before a 30 sec cooldown to a 25sec incapacitation is laughable.
Next, many fast killers make the 'time' to kick really short. Blights, wraiths, weskers, can all apply multiple eruptions no problem. Even sadakos and freddys can just teleport directly to gens and apply eruption.
And the getting a down before a gen is repaired is not a difficult as you may think. Remember we are in a gen regressing/slowdown meta so most killers are equipped with a full build focusing on this.
And for the love of god i have said this like 10 times already: Bond does not tell you when a surv is going down. Empathy does not tell you either. No information perk can tell you exactly when eruption will activate. The only reliable way to prevent this that does not require luck or be clairvoyant is to be on comms or fabricate a situation where you see both the killer and the surv aura at the same time.
Why should you know "exactly" when a perk is going to activate?
-
Too many people think everything needs a guaranteed counter. Eruption requires a lot to get it to work. First, it has to be off cooldown, next the killer has to take the time to kick the gen, and finally the killer has to get a down before the gen is finished and only applies the incapacitated effect if there happens to be a survivor on the gen exactly when it happens.
Eruption is yet another example of something survivors could easily counter by running an information perk like bond or an off-meta perk like repressed alliance but they refuse to do so in favor of stacking the same boring meta 2nd chance perks then come to the forums crying to the devs to change the game for them.
-
Doing things like giving survivors an incentive to leave the match instead of waiting at the exit gate for the killer to come over just so they can bait a swing or show off their DH or t-bag would go a long way.
The same could be said for giving killers an incentive not to bleed people out or hit them while they're on the hook.
People have suggested being able to use the thumbs up feature to award bonus bloodpoints for being a good sport, but for some reason that idea never gets used.

Its possible that they could actually see through walls, thats a very common cheat that can be really hard to detect, unless you run a very specific killer build.
It's ridiculous how bad the cheating is. Just left a trial where 2 survivors could pass right through you, instant heal, always appear in just the right spot for flashlights saves, pop gens in 20 seconds, etc.

What does the block function does in the game ? I can see it in the match results when you click a players name. Does it only blocks them from contacting you or does it prevents them from being matchmaked with you again ?
We need a function to block a toxic player which will guarantee that they will never be able to play with us again. I know this game has hundreds of thousands of players but one bad actor is a small improvement. Also the block list should have at least 1000 slots.
No because people would just block players that were better than them.

Yeah, I'd love to start playing more on PC, but sadly like 90% of my metaphorical eggs are in my Playstation basket.
But I am not holding my breath here, as it seems like there are too many things that need to happen that BHVR doesn't control. And I think if Sony/MS were motivated to do their part in this, it would have happened by now.
Microsoft has repeatedly said they want all games to be "play anywhere" games. So the fact that DbD can't even be played on the same account for Game Pass for Xbox and Game Pass for PC proves this is a BHVR issue. Even brand new indie games have cross-save and cross-progression between the two.

Most of the time the next group spawns as the last one launches, making a continous stream of them. I'd know, because I was ######### timing the solves perfectly, and before the last one hot the cover I took behind more spawned next to me.
Show a video of this happening.

Only allowing it to be used once per hook state should fix the abuse problems.

I hope not. Kill rates show an incomplete picture and it always leads to people begging for unnecessary nerfs.

I don't see the issue here. How is that an issue? If someone blocks pretty much everybody that beats them, eventually they will run out of people to block and just increase their wait times exponentially and if the new players do the same to them that pretty much results in them almost never getting matches. That is their problem.
On the other hand if people keep blocking you because you are unfun to go against, that is your problem. Eventually you will probably go against people more your level anyway, because it will only be people who have not blocked you, people whom, just like you, prefer a challenge.
Idk, if you ask me that just feels like such a non-issue, the only people I see complaining are the try-hards who KNOW they would get constantly blocked and I seriously have no sympathy to them and the other people would be the ones who just block pretty much anybody that inconveniences them and end up increasing their wait times, to which I have no sympathy either.
Except it wouldn't work that way. They would just be paired up with weaker opponents. Sure they're queue times might increase some, but it would be a while before they saw a drastic increase in times.

Survivors included solo q, so by you saying the game is survivor sided, you're also saying that the game is solo q sided.
"you refuse to use". Kindred and Bond have been on my build for more than a year now.
"It is what it is", was basically your response. Lazy.
"It is what it is" wasn't my response at all lmao. There's a difference in adapting to the reality of a situation and giving up on being able to change the situation. "It is what it is" means giving up on changing it and I never addressed whether or not solo q could or should be improved, only that their information isn't near the same level as SWF.
As for your first point, "survivor" is a general term that includes SWF and solo, but you made no distinction between SWF and solo until you needed to in order to favor your own argument. The game is always tilted in the survivor's favor. It all depends on their skill level and ability to use those advantages. A 4 man SWF that's overly altruistic and ignores gens gives up all of their advantages and basically gives the win to the killer. However a 4 man solo team where the survivors understand to do gens unless they absolutely have to do something else, make safe rescues, stay healed, and not greed for pallets and vaults still has an advantage over the killer.

For me it's 5+ minutes for a game that needs 5 players per match total.
Meanwhile other popular games with PVP content like Destiny 2: 30 seconds even though the biggest pvp mode requires 12 players total.
It's not fair to compare BHVR to Bungie.

Please explain how this game is solo q survivor sided.
You're quick to move those goalposts, aren't ya?
This is what people fail to realize: just because you are solo it doesn't mean the other 3 players are.
And if as a solo q player you refuse to use perks and items that give you info on the killer, teammates, and/or generators then the trouble you have winning is your own fault. It doesn't matter if solo q "should" have access to info like SWF, the reality is they don't. You have to deal with that being the reality and play accordingly.
-
It should be basekit imo. Give the option to either instantly snuff or take ~5 seconds to break.
-
2 - 3 minutes for a match is not a bad queue time.

If the game is still survivor sided for you after the patch I think it might be a you problem.
If you don't see how the game is still survivor sided that's definitely a you problem. As long as survivors have a modicum of efficiency, map knowledge, and looping skill the advantage is in their favor.
-
This would just be abused to block players that beat you or people that don't play the way others want them to (i.e. a survivor that that waits for you to die on your last hook so they can find hatch instead of trading and both of you dieing).
-
I only play solo q and it's between 40% - 60% on average.
I have some days where 9 out of 10 games are escapes and days where maybe 3 out of 10 are escapes because my team either rage quits or gives the killer free downs by hook trading unnecessarily. The time of day and days of the week seem to have a significant impact on how SBMM pairs me with teammates and killers.
-
I'm guessing that either you were gone for so long your MMR dropped and you're playing in the lower levels, or you're another survivor pretending to be a killer main saying the game is too easy and 4ks just fall from the sky now.

You will be when your Que times jump from instant to 20 min+
Queue times have already settled down to about 2 min average for killer and instant for survivor. These are similar to what the queue times were pre-SBMM.
-
Personally I think being able to grab a healthy survivor adds more fun because you have to mindgame the killer into hitting you when they think you've committed so they only hit you instead. Trying to get the timing right as killer is fun as well.
-
@Rastabooze said:
Why you made the stun timer to 3 seconds? It makes no sense at all. Why should you run DS now?
I tell you what: When I run it and I stun the killer, I get tunneled 100% after the stun, cause I gain 0 distance after it.
As the timer was 5 seconds many killers left me after the stun. I would say 40%.
Now it´s a 100% tunnel after the stun. Reward tunneling more! That´s fun
Good job BHVR
If you can't get to relative safety after being unhooked with baskeit BT and speedboost, an exhaustion perk, and OTR or new DS then your problem is a skill issue or just very bad luck. DS isn't meant to be a free escape from chase. It's meant to be a little boost to help you get to a loop.
-
@RedCloud said:

I really dont get your mentality, either more people run OTR or more people run BT which is more superior, because you help 3 people instead of only yourself. So you can equip BT to help your whole team and thereby increasing your own chance to survive. Thats why I personally run BT even in solo queue
Unless you've talked beforehand you have no idea what they're running so BT may be redundant.
What happens when the survivor gets unhooked and outlasts the BT timer before the killer gets a hit? They're just as screwed as if you didn't have it at all, minus the small speed boost. It's highly unlikely they'd outlast OTR, and if they do then they succesfully ran the killer long enough to give their team a massive advantage.

Handholding = teamwork, I see.
This isn't talking about teamwork. This is expecting others to run an inferior perk to help you with being tunneled because you refuse to use the superior OTR. It would be teamwork if this was discussed and planned, but expecting more people to run BT for you so you can run 4 perks other than OTR is needing your hand held.
-
@RedCloud said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3107306#Comment_3107306
Who is talking about holding hands? Im just asking if you more people should run BT. The fact is that the killer easily down people after 5 secs, and thats not a time waste for killers especially if he can have 3 survivors left at 3-4 gens.
It's hand holding if your teammates have to bring a perk to save you because you can't deal with being tunneled and refuse to run OTR so you can run other perks. It's even more of a problem when you consider the fact OTR is better than BT by far.
-
@RedCloud said:

How is it a survivors problem when a killer decides to tunnel, I dont get this logic? if two survivors has BT not everyone needs to waste a slot on OTR. Killers just wait 4 secs and tunnel people directly. All I am saying is that it would help with the tunneling.
It's only a survivor problem if a killer tunnels. It doesn't hurt the killer any unless they don't understand when to abandon a chase.
Let me put it this way, let's say I run SB or Lithe and OTR and I'm confident in my ability to get to safety and loop a killer. Why should I be expected to give up one of my last 2 perk slots to use on a survivor that isn't as good in chases but selfishly decides to run other perks that won't help them in that situation?
The expected handholding for mediocre survivors has gotten out of hand.
-
@RedCloud said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3107237#Comment_3107237
I dont think tunneling is a one survivor problem and actually an issue for the whole team
Like I said, if a survivor knows they have problems with getting tunneled and being able to get to safety then they should put on OTR instead of relying on a teammate who may not have problems being tunneled to waste one of their perk slots on BT for them.
-
@RedCloud said:
Since camping the hook seems to be much more prevalent especially since no one takes borrowed time anymore (and not everyone runs off the record).
Probably not. If a survivor is worried about being tunneled then it should be on them to use a perk slot to help them deal with it.

I'm assuming you don't actually understand why the killer queues are long right now and the survivor ones are nearly instant.
You assume wrong. If there was a drip in the total number of players it'd be due to players quitting as many on this forum like to claim is happening. However there is no such drop. This leads me to believe thtlat players switched back from survivor to killer because killer is more enjoyable now that the meta change has balanced the game a little more. Pre-patch it was the other way around. No one wanted to play killer due to survivors having too many advantages so the queues were instant. Now killer queues are more normal, being 1-3 minutes which is what it was up until about a 1 to 1.5 years ago.
-
@Beatricks said:
I'm genuinely surprised. Usually, long que times are really bad for business and they would be on that stuff ASAP. But it looks like they are happy to have longer and longer que times. I guess it's time to see what's discounted on Steam.
Survivor queue times are still instant, for me at least. And according to Steam charts the number of total players has remained steady which tends to show the longer killer queue times are due to people finally feeling the killer role is fun again so they switched back.
So overall it's not looking bad for BHVR. Survivors, which are the largest group, get faster games which means they'll probably be more likely to spend $$$. Killers have longer queues but overall it's more enjoyable now, meaning killers will also be more likely to spend $$$.
-
This seems like another fair set of changes. Personally I've been extremely happy with almost everything they've done since announcing the meta shake-up.
-
My solo q experience hasn't changed. If my teammates play the game regularly there's a good chance of at least 3 escaping. If they give up or ignore gens we lose.

Thing is, extending of Gen time make camping more effective, the cooldown buff also make it really hard to unhook against camper, its pretty much exchange hook
It makes survivors feel like they have to rush Gen harder incase they face a camper.
Only if Devs force Killers to spread hooks on survivor, as the first survivor dies at killers' 7-9 hooks, they could extend survivors' objective.

i played with OTR the whole day (never did before), killers doesnt care and still tunnel for an ez 3vs1
No one, and I mean absolutely no one, is surprised survivors use BT to bodyblock for their rescuer and rely on DS to save them if the killer chases them for it and then complain they were tunneled and camped.

There ARE changes that need to be made. Gens SHOULD go back to 80 seconds. The chase changes were strong enough. STBFL needs adjusted. DS stun needs to go back to 5 seconds. Or stay at 3 seconds and activate both hook states.
Nope. Gens can still be done quickly. The extra 10 seconds only helps toward late game but the early game isn't slowed down at all. The impact of the extra 10 seconds is almost entirely dependent on how the survivors play.
STBFL is fine as is. It requires the killer to completely avoid one of the survivors or receive a penalty to it. If you don't feed the killer stacks or make bad plays then it won't be an issue for the most part.
DS was broken. If you can't get to safety with a basekit BT or OTR, an exhaustion perk, and a DS stun then your skill is the problem barring a few rare situations. High mobility killers are still going to catch up to you quickly, but now the lower mobility killers have a chance instead of having to abandon a chase or slug and risk Unbreakable. If DS could be prevented from being used offensively then I'd agree with changing it back. But survivors still want to bodyblock for their rescuer and depend on DS to save them. You can't cry about tunneling when this is how DS is used.
