They just drop you continuously... so sure, eventually after being dropped god knows how many times over however long then you will bleed out. Should take... I dunno, maybe half an hour if you are lucky?

That's extremely unlikely. While they're busy doing that your team would be doing the gen.

  • @MaTtRoSiTy said:

They need to kill switch SM, I have had several (the same one a couple of times) who are intentionally not hooking you when you're on DH and holding a 3 gen to hold you hostage in game. The only solution is to DC or be stuck in an hour long nightmare where they can essentially hold you hostage since they wont sacrifice you.

The 3 gen situation with SM is beyond insane at this point

That doesn't make sense. If they down you and refuse to hook then you bleed out in 4 minutes. If they won't even do that then you can just work on the gen. It's impossible for a killer to hold you in a match until it times out.

Unfortunately they're still very readily available. Which is cool, because without them being as strong as they are Meatball Larry would be genuinely one of if not the best killer in the game before Add-Ons.

One change I feel like they really should do is stop the EMPs fully self printing. They'll go to 85/90%, changing aura colour as they do so, but then someone has to physically take the time to get off gens and finish printing it. And if that's too strong, they could revert some of the other nerfs, but I don't think it would be.

That's a really good suggestion. I think it would also be good if there was a delay between a survivor being hit with a pod and the time they can use an emp. Right now they just hold the emp until they get hit then they use it before the second shot comes and get to remove their pin and take out the stationary biopod as well.

  • @Jangles said:

Genrushing is when a killer overcommits a chase and doesnt apply map pressure to the rest of the survivors so they can just sit on gens with no punishment.

Do you consider less than 60 seconds overcommiting to a chase? Because it's extremely common for the killer to lose 1 or 2 gens by the time they cross the map, locate a survivor, and engage their first chase. I notice in most of my survivor matches that 2 gens pop by the time the killer gets their second hook.

  • For killers it's permanent hook breaking. For survivors it's either luck or map offerings.

Ah yes, a killer of culture who has not experienced a killer who refuses to leave a 3 gen area. Survivors can easily finish 4 gens on the rest of the map but anytime they go near 3 close gens the chase begins and ends once survivor leaves that area. BORING

4 survivors shouldn't have a problem breaking a 3 gen even when the killer is patrolling it. Survivors usually don't take the time to figure out they're locking themselves into a 3 gen until they've already done it. Maps like Suffocation Pit are a perfect example of this. Survivors will spend all game running to one side of the map while the others do all gens on the opposite side, then lose the match because of it and run to the forums demanding the devs change the game so they can continue to play recklessly.

The idea is to provide that buff to end the game after an extended stalemate. If you've gone...let's say 5 minutes just chasing survivors off gens... rather than downing anyone, that's not a case of "survivors playing poorly". A killer turning back over and over to kick gens rather than chasing is the only people who would really be affected and that hardly is someone who should get buffed. They're already playing a game of attrition in getting rid of any pallets in the area the longer they can stretch out the situation.

But why should a killer leave a 3 gen unguarded if the survivors put themselves in that situation? And again, why should the side that made the mistake be the side to get a buff to bail them out of that mistake?

Survivors mains are adamant that if a killer has 4 survivors left after all gens are done then the killer deserves to lose and should accept it, but they also claim if survivors put themselves In 3 gen then the survivors need to accept the loss. It makes no sense to buff survivors for making a game losing mistake.

  • @LordGlint said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3491968#Comment_3491968

If your going an extended amount of time without getting a down... You're not capitalizing on anything. Putting in a mechanic that JUST acts to avoid a 30 minute game of keep away while at the same time doesn't affect normal gameplay at all sounds like a win in my book.

So then why not give the buff to the killer so they can take a chase that would otherwise be foolish to take rather than giving survivors a buff for playing poorly?

  • @[Deleted User] said:

It's going to be hard to pull off something balanced for both sides. They could start with something like: after X amount of time without putting a survivor into the dying state with 1 gen remaining, survivors start gaining stacks of Emboldened every X seconds. For every stack of Emboldened, generator speed is increased by X%.

This sounds like another bailout for survivors playing poorly. Why should they get a bonus for putting themselves in a hard to win situation and why should a killer be punished for capitalizing on their mistake?

  • @killeriseasy said:

I mean that's the only way we survive. Can't out run the killer lol

Right, but pallets shouldn't be a guarantee of safety either. When they favor one side over the other on winning the chase it takes away the fun. Playing mindgames with both sides having an equal opportunity to win is what makes the whole point of playing a multi-player game.

I hope they implement some version of both pallet abilities after the event is over. Of not they seriously need to rework the majority of pallets/loops so they're more equal.

  • Just like when survivors 3 gen themselves, right?

I'm "dropping" the number 60% because it is the latest and most reasonable number that we have, once BHVR gives us a new numbers I'll say the new one. Personally I don't believe this number makes any sort of sense, there is MMR in this game so the killrate should be 50% - the fact it's not is already an absurdity by itself. It's possible that the game has become so easy that MMR can't even achieve 50% anymore, or it's possible that BHVR data is completely nonsensical and cannot be trusted at all (wouldn't surprise me given that Nightlight killrates have almost always been at ~50% regardless of patch, which makes much more sense).

But the point is, this number was recently at the highest it's ever been, and we're in the middle of an event, so killer gameplay is likely the easiest it's ever been. If OP finds the game hard now, they might as well stop playing already because it's going to be much, much worse in 2 months when the playerbase will drop by 50%.

The 60% number contains matches where survivors suicide on hook which almost always ends in the other 3 survivors dying as well unless one gets the hatch. So 60% is artificially high.

iirc the kill rate at high mmr, or maybe it was when a swf was invovled, was around 40% - 45%

  • This was a really weird change. It made other situationally useful perks completely useless.

So the fact we need to rely on perks to combat a BS strategy proves that a ton of changes need to be made. Not everyone has access to Zarina to get OtR and if they’re in solo queue, they sure as hell can’t rely on teammates to run BT.

Tunneling is not a "BS" strategy. It may be one you don't care for, but it's just as viable as any other strategy. And the direction the devs are pushing the game in rewards camping and tunneling and punishes taking multiple chases.

Killers have been asking for years for the devs to add some other objective for survivors to slow the game down even if it means putting in hard anti-camping and anti-tunneling measures but they absolutely refuse to do so while also ignoring that it would help solve their problem with running out of perk ideas, help the game feel fresh, break up the monotony of doing gens only, and that a halfway efficient team that commits to doing gens can end a game in under 5 minutes and guarantee a 4 man escape.

  • @GannTM said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3470843#Comment_3470843

So if basekit BT runs out too fast, we should buff it again right?

No. You have the option of OtR or to have a teammate run BT.

  • @Ayodam said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3470862#Comment_3470862

You did, and you just used two contradictory examples to illustrate that point. If a killer hits you with OtR active then you lose the Iron Will effect and you’re placed in deep wound. They don’t need to wait it out, nor will they. If you’re running around using OtR to remain silent… that’s wasted effort because you lose the perk benefits as soon as you perform any conspicuous / useful action. And if a killer hits you with OtR again you lose all benefits. Just like BT. So you’ve essentially wasted a perk slot for what you could get from a basekit feature now.

I suggest you re-read what I said then because I never said anything about running around doing nothing with OtR active.

A killer will try to wait out your basekit BT but often times don't notice you aren't making a sound which wastes more of their time and gives you a chance to get to a loop or get a bodyblocker.

Sometimes after an unhook it's wise to hide if the killer likes to tunnel. A few seconds of queit while they search the area is a great thing. Then you can move on.

Again, none of this is just running around with OtR. Since that's what you keep assuming, I think I'm starting to understand what your problem is when using it.

  • @Ayodam said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3470843#Comment_3470843

The point is to somewhat avoid getting tunneled. Why are you running around with OtR active if no killer is nearby? You should be doing something productive.

Who said anything about running around with it active? My point is the duration is too short on basekit and killers easily wait it put. OtR lasts long enough to get you to relative safely or helps you hide by keeping you quiet.

  • @Ayodam said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3470825#Comment_3470825

You could skip OtR and just rely on basekit BT. Endurance doesn’t stack so there’s really no point in running OtR. It’s outclassed.

Base kit BT runs out too fast plus it doesn't have an Iron Will effect.

  • The whole point was to make DS less popular and less powerful. OtR is a healthy alternative yet people refuse run it because it's harder to use offensively and it doesn't make you invulnerable to being hooked. The usefulness of OtR relies more on the survivor's individual skill which sadly many are lacking.

Yeah, I think it's hurting now in ways that it didn't used to.

Five years ago, I myself (as a bisexual guy) would've been annoyed that sexual orientation gets discussed and over-represented to death in every major form of media, but it frankly just didn't feel as dangerous to be LGBT back then.

There's been such a visible increase in homophobia in society (American society in particular) and homophobic violence in general that, yeah, it suddenly feels important.

If the idea of someone having a different sexual orientation to you bothers you, you're part of the problem.

Because that's what you're getting at, right? You don't care about sexual orientation. You (and the people who upvoted your post) just don't want to hear about gay people. Come right out and say it. Am I wrong?

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3469695#Comment_3469695

It would just be awkward if BHVR suddenly released a huge list detailing every character's sexual orientation, but I do think there's room for more visibility.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3469572#Comment_3469572

Nea is bisexual and you cannot change mine.

Also, I honestly hated Renato with a passion for some reason (probably his goofy clothes and disgustingly upbeat menu theme) until I got his rift cosmetics, but now I kinda hope he's not straight.

You watch too much news or spend too much time on social media. Homophobia violence toward members of the LGBT+ community has only decreased. It wasn't that long ago that casually using the F-slur was mainstream and the worst thing a guy could be accused of was being gay.

Every little thing is being magnified and amplified right now because it drives clicks and makes money. Now we're at a point where most LGBT+ lifestyles are fully accepted but we still call it hate when the general populace is saying they've had enough of being told to keep accepting it when they already have.

Maybe I'm different, but having grown up in the south I never could open up about my own orientation, or confusion around it even, but now that I can I just want to have a normal life. I don't want my entire identity to be based around my sexual attractions, and I don't want the main focus of my recreational media to be based around it either. Just give me characters I can relate to whether they're LGBT+ or not.

You did not need to consistently down Survivors in order to get massive value from Eruption, you just needed one or two to get 50+ seconds of time waste.

Thinking the average player can utilize 3% Haste is ridiculous, just like thinking the average player can knock out 6 Hyperfocus skill checks

Not even going to dignify the Nurse comment wirh a real response.

I play on Xbox and I can consistently hit Hyperfocus skill checks and I even have nerve damage in my right hand.

I think you underestimate just how much 3% haste can do.

Correction if it's not hard to counter than there is no reason not to keep it. It's simply another layer that isn't peak potential for blight in chase. Your logic is backwards. Most blights like the hug tech because it is fun. If you watched momo play during his win streak he never used the hug tech because it is simply not efficient most of the time. The hug tech is fun to use and play against, the only people who think otherwise don't know how to adapt to anything but m1 killers lmao.

Wrong. If it's easily countered then you wouldn't be fighting so hard to keep it. Buy you know that isn't true. There's no counter to a killer moving that fast that whip around a corner. Blight is meant to move in mostly straight lines at high speeds. Being able to cheese his movement due to a flaw in the game's design gives him the ability to hit survivors when he never should have been able to. Fixing this would likely prevent his add-on from needing much, if any, change.

Obviously not, considering it’s not hard to counter. Some people can’t counter it? That can be said about literally anything in the game. That’s kind of how pvp games work. Some are better than others.

How do we even know it’s a “bug” anymore? It has not been spoken on in forever. Unintended features / gameplay has been fully integrated many times before.

Lastly, it’s not a guess game. You can clearly see when a blight is setting up for a hug tech. ESPECIALLY if he has speed addons. Guess what… if he starts bumping over and over, he’s probably about to hug tech.

If it's not hard to counter then there's no reason to keep it.

Those pesky SWF's preventing the killer from getting kills or hooks... By dying on hooks and eliminating them!

It only takes one death or a sabo squad to remove the only hook near a corner of the map. Stop with the disingenuous arguments.

The point of the Freddy's pallets and Doctor's illusions are so you don't know which pallets are are real. It doesn't make Windows useless. You have to play around those killer powers as you should.

No way. Info perks are some of the strongest. There's simply no way to express all of the benefits from knowing where your opponents are and what they're doing, or seeing where your teammates are and what they're doing which helps you decide what you need to be doing. Info is what makes a SWF strong. The fact that people refuse to see the benefit of information perks because they need crutch perks in other areas is why they have such a miserable time in solo queue.

Does that mean 4k should also almost be impossible to get?

Yeah I think so. Whether the survivor gets out through hatch or gates. There should definitely be some sore of mechanic in place that makes it easier to escape based on how many gens were completed.

  • I've always felt like surviving shouldn't be an expected outcome. 3k 1e should be the balance, kinda like in horror movies. A 4e should be almost impossible to get.

It's always more fun when you have to fear/respect the killer. Being able to do things like pop a gen in their face, go on 2+ gen chases, and bodyblock hooks all without fear of serious consequences makes the game feel silly.

  • @StickyB said:

the only way a survivor can crawl off and disappear is if you leave them on the ground cause you think you can't win the game if a single survivor gets hatch. So, if you fix that part of the mentality, no one will ever crawl and disappear.

Not true. Sometimes you down a survivor and another is right there so taking the chase is in your favor.

Either way, survivors can't complain that being slugged to bleed out takes too long but then make sure they're on the ground for the full time.

  • The match should just end if all remaining survivors are slugged for more than enough time to activate Unbreakable. It also sucks when a slugged survivor crawls off to avoid being hooked.

How is there no recourse, you're playing killer. Killers all the time say they'll tunnel the guy BMing them. You have more agency than the survivor, are you serious? I said something and people ran with it, while I said nothing about BMing killers who are new or not really doing anything. Jesus. What about a killer who tunnels and camps then, should he think of the survivor they're doing that to? Because tunneling and camping make it feel personal,w hat if the survivor being tunneled or camped is the one unwell mentally or has a disability? Is their drive for win more important than the well being of the person on the other screen?

The difference in tunneling and camping is they're part of how the game is played. They're viable strategies. Now killers doing things like hitting you on the hook, forcing you to bleed out, or holding you hostage by bodyblocking is something different. What recourse does a survivor gave against that? What can a killer do against a bully squad that spams loud noise notifications and t-bags at the exit gates? None of these are functions that should be allowed to remain in the game. They serve no purpose other than to allow scumbag players to act like the scum they are.

I'd still teabag you to see if you'd crack and come find me. Teabagging can also be a viable strategy if it gets the killer bothered. I don't understand why killers are so against it. Annoying them can lead to making mistakes.

People are against it because it's nothing more than a behavior to ruin someone's day. It has no point other than making someone feel negative. People only do it because they know there's no recourse. It's a cowardly act. Ffs you never know when you're playing against someone whose mentally at the end of their rope or had a disability that makes it hard for them to cope with things like this and it pushes them over the edge.
