  • Great another one of these posts. Like @Zaitsev already stated, adding diversity to just check boxes is wrong.

I still don't get it because that was never what I was saying in the first place but ok.

Lol now I know you are just trolling. Look back at your first post in this thread. You wrote it in bold

Dont know what your on about. Killer and Survivor roles both have their fun parts. Over it anyway.

All I'm saying is you have zero proof or logical reasoning to say killers are to blame for the broken MMR.

  • @CosmicParagon said:

They literally have the single hardest achievement in the game for killers besides Evil Incarnate and you STILL think they're biased towards survivors?

Once again, so what. I had every achievement in gears of war 3, didn't mean I enjoyed playing horde mode; I did it to say I did it.

You are missing the overall point in that his blaming MMR on killers complaining is baseless.

  • @Tricks said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1521338#Comment_1521338

Well I would post my entire list of achievements proving I actually play Killer and Survivor in relatively equal amounts depending on my mood but I'd rather not take up a page or 2 for what has become something quite ridiculous. So here's this instead:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/LGKEBCO571O5/image.png

Most of my locked achievements are adepts with 20 killer achievements / 3 survivor achievements left to claim from 155 so if that makes me "omg a Survivor Main"? I dunno. oof.

Why you want to smoke screen and misdirect by somehow making it a killer vs survivor sided bollocks fest somehow to do with me is beyond me but anyways none of this changes the fact that the new MMR system is ruining the new player experience eroding the very foundation of our game one match at a time which everyone should be worried about for reasons that should be bleedingly obvious.

Just because you are an achievement junkie doesn't mean you don't like one side more than the other.

But like others have said, it makes no sense for the devs to purposely sabotage the game for the sake of a few high rank killers.

You turned it into a killer vs survivor battle, not me.

  • @Tricks said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1520049#Comment_1520049

Not entirely sure why we're assuming I'm in any way survivor biased.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/9F2R6W523FY1/so-wrong.jpg

Toxic red ranks anywhere but in purple / red ranks is not acceptable. Be it Survivor or Killer.

In two posts you said the killers were to blame for the MMR changes. That's where I got it from.

Congrats, you spent your extra bp on leveling characters. I have a lvl 50 hag I never played with. It means nothing

  • @Tricks said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1519728#Comment_1519728

It's quite simple really for those with even the smallest amount of foresight.

Here, let me break it down for you.

    • Red ranks are now allowed to bully Brown ranks. Rank 20 through 17 on an ongoing and consistent basis with all their characters because MMR hasn't worked.
    • This is our NEW PLAYER BASE who have the potential to invest MONEY into our game which the developers need to add new content.
    • Without these revenue streams from potential new players who are now being alienated from unfair matchmaking there will be no new content and no reason for new or existing players to stay around which in turn cuts their revenue streams off too.
    • This means even less content, less matches until you have your empty lobby simulator you've always wanted in a sad little forgotten game in an even sadder, more forgotten corner of the internet.

All because Red ranks wanted short wait times with easy matches so they can bully new plays killing the game in the process by cutting it off at it's foundation.

What part of that do you fail to grasp.

I'll try to use small words for you. You seem to be saying killers want easy boring matches. I'm saying no, killers want fair matches against opponents of equal skills. Put your survivor bias away for a minute to think about it.

The match making isn't due to killers complaining. The previous system was flawed and in an attempt to fix it, it became worse. Nothing to do with one side or the other complaining more

  • @Tricks said:

I give this game a week before its just another sad little empty lobby simulators in a very soon to be forgotten corner of the internet. And all because of the same old problem, Red ranks /crying to the devs like they always do.

This time to get their hand held so they can have short wait times and easy matches vs brown ranks.

    wd.

You make no sense. The issue is the matches are too easy for red rank players and between players right now

    1. Ah alright.

    2. A real life killer seems to be more scarier though since he is one of the most known real life killers that actually never got caught.

    3. Understandable but it was never a problem when they did it but i do understand its 2020 so cancel culture and stuff is the norm.

I'm not saying to exclude him because if cancel culture. I'm saying exclude him because there are so many better options.

I personally don't think a real life killer is scarier. People like Jack the Ripper were freaks. Leave them in the history books and explore the vast world's of horror, fantasy, and science fiction instead of taking the cheap tasteless way out of picking real life killers. At that point why not add Bundy or Gacy It doesn't seem to mix with DBD to me

Jack The ripper is the character though since the identified who he actually was. Jack the ripper the character has been in a bunch of media. The multiple movies (including one he faces off against sherlock holmes) he's in assassind creed. There was a scooby doo back in time episode that involved him if i remember correctly. The character jack the ripper (who i don't even know is licensed) they could literally just do what they did was ghostface and name the killer "the ripper" and give him their own backstory. He'd probably be more of a scary character than the legion and clown anyway. You are not glorifying Aaron Kosminski as he wouldn't be the character in this world.

    1. The real jack the ripper has never been identified. Kosminski was just a subject.

    2. With all the interesting folklore and horror these still not utilized for killers, why pick a real life killer? That would be lazy and in poor taste.

    3. Just because others have done it doesn't make it cool.

Get out of here with you dismissive comments. If it wasn't that bad, people wouldn't be complaining this much in the first place, also no other game has it where literally back to back 6-7 games at a time you get called racial slur's and told to #########. Hell i've played COD, and CS:GO, and not nearly ever seen so much blatant racism and suicide threats in my life. I also come from having an addiction to WoW which isn't nearly this bad.

People are not choosing to be offended, people are just tired with the bull ######### ruining the game.

No, people are choosing to be offended. Clearly you gave never played COD because any MW2 lobby would have you begging to return to the so called toxicity of this game.

I doubt they will ever get it. They have defenses against being insulted and cyber bullied. They have the report button, closing the chat, ending the game etc. But they choose to be offended, and then they call others enablers and bullys, which honestly offends me. I mean like on a super tiny level that I'll forget about in two seconds. What they really want is a notification saying this person got banned! Other wise they don't get the satisfaction of knowing they got revenge against the person who they probably won't ever play with or hear from again. Personally I think it's a little sad that someone gets so worked up about it honestly.

Yes, people want the notification so they can go around saying "I made the world a better place today and got someone banned from a video game!"

  • Stop ignoring the fact that many people out there obviously tolerate the end game chat because they realize 2 things. 1. It's not as bad as you think. 2. There is only so much the mods can do. You sound like a broken record at this point

  • @TheButcher said:

    The people saying;

    "It is how it is"

    "Just take a break"

Do you even realize this is a casual game? It's not meant to be competitive. The game is entirely based on a reward system, that you're supposed to feel rewarded regardless how well you do. People being rude - to the extent of using deragatory terminology, and even telling people to kill themself shouldn't be allowed to happen in the game. Period. The bad manner's alone takes away the reward aspect from the game, and turn's the game competitive and a terrible experience for everyone involved.

So get out of here with your dismissive [badword].

Wrong my friend. To many, the game is competitive; it is one side against another, hence it will always be competitive. Furthermore, I don't think you understand the reward system. If you do poorly in a match you depip. It's an incentive to not just mess around the whole match. If you do, it won't be without consequences.

While it's not cool for people to be insulted over a game, multiple people have given you a simple, viable solutions.

I get a chuckle out of it when people get so angry over a game they resort to petty name calling. It shows that I won on two levels. Then I move on with my day knowing the anonymous antagonist can't hurt me.

  • I understand you might be disappointed and this might sound more callous than I would like, but did you not research the game before buying it? I never buy video games without reading reviews and watching gameplay videos before hand.

you are advocating doing NOTHING! this is the same as bullying because you are ALLOWING the behavior to go on. You are ENABLING the bullying and people CAN be placed in the same categories as others when they do wrong because they stood by and let it happen. I am sad that you can't see this and till you understand it you will continue to be a bully, perhaps not in actions but in inaction. I am done with trying to reason with you. I still hope you will never feel the loss of someone dear because someone at the wrong time pushed them over the brink. GOOD BYE.

I refuse to believe that word policing makes me the bully. Actually, the attempt to control people's speech is closer to bullying than allowing people to speak their minds. By all means, continue to believe that words spoken by immature trolls over a video game dictate your views on morality. Bye

Very well. you continue being the bully, you continue being the one that allows conduct this way and you will forever be the bully. Closing chat is not the answer. some people like to be nice to others and they are not always the strongest people around and you will one day find out what it is like when those you bully end up fighting back. I hope no one close to you ends up hospitalized or worse because someone was just as callus as you are advocating should be allowed and accepted. I hope you do not have to attend funerals because of what someone caused to happen. go and be your self there and keep it up I will watch for your behavior and continue reporting it even if I am not the one it is put towards.

Lol what bullying? You cannot point out one instance where I have bullied anyone not where I have outright condoned bullying. Feel free to believe otherwise. I'll sleep like a baby regardless

well about the battery part i said MAYBE for that, still Assault is not something to sneeze at. I am not contradicting myself what so ever. Being offended about something is one thing but when that thing is bordering on racism, sexism, and the extremes something must be done to curtail it.

and your comment about people that are in a fragile state of mind, sure you are right they have more pressing concerns, but you know what? do you know the state of mind that I am in at this minute? do I know the state of mind you are in this minute? no you do not, and people that are depressed, or worse, will still play video games to try and feel better so it is possible you played with someone that is suicidal or wanting to harm themselves and the only thing they know to stop that is to play a game now someone jumps down their throat with that attack and well that's the snap and they go do it. how would you feel if you said that and they actually DID what you told them to do? You are just as callous as people who use these terms. you are part of the problem, you should want to be part of the solution. If all you want to do is use these terms then how can you even think yourself a good person.

how can you tell someone else they are not worthy to play a video game just because their mental health is bad? see you are the one that has the problem people want to include people, you wish to exclude people. GREAT WORK.

Way to go overboard chief. You just don't get it. What one person finds offensive might mean nothing to someone else. You want everyone to walk on eggshells around people just to make sure their feelings are not hurt.

Where did I say someone was not worthy to play a game? My point was nobody is killing themselves purely because they got their feelings hurt over a video game; they clearly had deeper issues before hand.

I find it funny how the person upset over harassment is the one attacking people's moral character. But it's ok, I know it's just words.

As others have said, the mute button is always an option. It's so easy to play the game with zero communication with the other players. If you chose to view the chat, you chose to risk being offended. If you make the latter choice, I have no sympathy if your feelings are hurt

  • @Freki said:

WOW REALLY? you condone people being told to commit suicide? you condone the words that have lead to the riots and protests all over the world? you condone people being told they are bad because they are not christian, not straight? this is a priority and you're dismissal is crappy at best and apathetic as well but you are an enabler.

The riots are mostly people being childish rogues and have nothing to do with words. It's babies throwing fits cause they didn't get their way or just simply acting out knowing there are no consequences.

first of all, why are they calling people various things without knowing ? I don't know because they are people that think it's cool to talk like that, and they need to LEARN that it needs to stop. trash talk is fine, but when you get into personal or advocating self harm or anything like that then it has left trash talk and become harassment and even could be considered assault and or battery. you said that you weren't saying that well by saying it should not be dealt with in a prompt and expiditious manner you are saying it should be let go and forgotten till things have gotten to someone that is not in the best of spaces mentally and ends up doing something to themselves because of someone telling them to. Talk like that is like saying hey we have an arterial bleeder and we can go fix the hang nail because it'll be a fast and easy fix, they won't bleed out before we're done.

if someone says you suck, or eat my ***.... or something like that, that's fine it's trash talk and can be ignored. but any report of harassment should be taken seriously. even in Everquest, WoW, and many other games it is taken seriously when it is reported and dealt with. if they are 12 years old, or 40 it doesn't matter. They need to know it's not accepted. IF they can no longer play without purchasing the game again (through a new steam account) maybe that'll help since they lost ALL the money they sunk into the other account or they won't be back because they don't want to spend the money again. that is the point for this, not to make it the wrong thing to do or something that does nothing.

    1. Minor legal point, it is not battery and can never be battery. Battery involves actual physical contact.

I'm also glad that I'm not a mod, because that seems like a lot of work, but also because I am the type of person who deals with their own problems and follows the phrase "give as good as you can take". Not to mention the hate I already receive as is. You can't be silenced by a phrase. You are putting too much stock into words. It's up to you to either ignore it and continue the rational part of a discussion or let them ruin your day. While the mods have every right to ban whatever they want on their forums, it's not good practice to ban phrases you don't like.

He was also a man who did terrible things and that included slave ownership, by comparision he was a better slave owner than others but that's not saying much. He also didn't free his slave who he was ######### behind his wife's back after she had his child.

the 9/11 thing thats sad, but im not going to lose sleep over a memorial dedicated to something that happened 19 years ago and our country payed them back with a war that killed many times more innocent people than those terrorists ever did.

If you are unwilling to stay up to date on current affairs best not speak about them then.

I can't take you seriously though if you are calling the original revolutionary proponents terrorists. They didn't target civilians for political gain, they tried through legal and then forceful means to form their own government. I'll wait for you to show me am example of Jefferson burning down a loyalist house. Again, terrorist doesn't mean someone searching for change, it's about how they got there.

I don't even want to get the wars in the middle east debate going here, it's already far enough off topic. But I'm sad you bought into the propaganda saying the US targets civilians. I guess we should have let the Taliban and Saddam stay in power, they would have at least defended the lgtq community (very heavy sarcasm)

Nobody mentioned "terrorist", what are you talking about?

@MongolPSR said it. Several posts ago.

The first black military unit was forced conscription, it wasn't a good thing. Also which guy who wrote the declaration? there were quite a few who all worked together to write it?

🤦 The first recruited regiment made of volunteers. I thought that was implied but I see you want to be a stickler instead of debating all my points.

You know damn well Thomas Jefferson is considered the main author. Was he a terrorist in your eyes? He was certainly rebelling against an organized government? Look up the definition of terrorism and get back to me if you are not sure.

I'll spell out my point again though, statues being torn down are not just against Confederates at this point. They cut down a memorial flag pole dedicated to 9/11 for crying out loud.

It's sad that I, a European, got a better education on the history of your country than you did.

Then you would be wrong. By every measurable metric the left in the US has moved further left. I live in a deep blue state and have witnessed it first hand.

I'm sure European schools and poorly structured US ones don't teach the civil war properly nor do they teach any US history properly.

It's so easy to label people as terrorist when they hold different values. If you don't know the full story or don't read deep into their pasts, don't call every Confederate a terrorist.

As far as statues, I don't know if it was you or someone else who brought it up so I apologize if it wasn't you, but they tore down a statue of a black abolitionist, the general of the first black military unit, and the guy who wrote the declaration. Forgive me for considering that a weak argument.

Ah, there's the disconnect. I'm coming at it from 'because its undefined it can be anything' and, correct me if I'm wrong, you're stance is 'because its undefined its nothing'. Before you react; I'm not advocating that there is a right and wrong, it's just diametrically opposed perspectives. Thanks for the tip about my caps. HAPPY POSTING!

Correct, we just view the character concept differently. Never meant any disrespect.

Why should gay marriage be the goal if it isn't the governments jurisdiction if the government just gave tax exemption status they would've been equal which should be the goal

It is the government's jurisdiction, though. Always has been, it's just that, before, the church was also the governing body. There's also a lot more to marriage than just tax exemption. Look up the legislation.

A side was chosen in actuality because of the sex of your partner you decided you loved that person more than a woman even though your attracted to both just be honest with yourself

I am being honest with myself, but I suppose it's easier to pretend I'm lying than to admit you might be wrong.

In order to judge how "equal" you are to something you need a comparison like how I compared the USA to the middle east from the sheer fact that the LGBT community even exists unlike in the middle east where you'll disappear or you have to keep it a secret

The comparison is between LGBT and non-LGBT.

Also, pro-tip: If you have to compare your country to the worst case-scenario to make your country look good, your country's horrible.

In the Western World I refuse to believe there are sanctioned camps or even centers where children are tortured for being gay that politicians and the public turn a blind eye to. Even small communities can't escape the public gaze due to social media.

So did I, until I saw it in my own country (in Western Europe). It got swept under the rug, that's all.

Comparing a best case to a worst case does not make the best case bad. Showing the US or Denmark or France is more accepting than the middle east just shows how big the gap is.

It's in many countries, primarily in small towns that can keep things quiet. Look up the torture camps, they're active in many countries (even my own, much to my surprise, though that's gonna end soon) around the world and sanctioned by local communities.

So every government needs to go to every town, and if that town has a center where people try conversion therapy the whole country's system needs to be condemned and broken down. Where does it end? Can I call Catholic schools torture camps if a kid doesn't want to go there but is sent by their parents to be forced to learn Catholic doctrine. If Italy allows Catholic schools can I call out Italy for it?

In the Western World I refuse to believe there are sanctioned camps or even centers where children are tortured for being gay that politicians and the public turn a blind eye to. Even small communities can't escape the public gaze due to social media.

Outside of the North America and Western Europe is a different story and you may very well be correct.

And I'm tired of people thinking the USA and its government are the only thing in existence, like there are zero other western countries (or even countries on Earth).

You only damage your case. The US is often behind the rest of the Western World in accepting progressive ideas. So again, where is this systemic western discrimination you and others talk about?

  • You can be denied adoption for a multitude of reasons. Try adopting a baby as a single parent with low income, it's not gonna happen. So is the adoption system prejudiced against single people or poor people? And last I checked same sex adoption was legalized in the US. Same with gay marriage.

So tired of people perceiving the US as some locked down country run by zealous monks.

Bisexuals are just unsure and choose a side at the end?

and marriage was not only a church thing since a long time, see taxes (at least in some European countries)

and saying there is no discrimination going on in western countries is just blatantly wrong and concerningly ignorant.

As I've pointed out, discrimination coming from individuals is impossible to stop, discrimination coming from western governments is non-existent.

Love this shout out and if you wanna be technical... GhostFace is fluid as well, since they're a concept and not a specific individual, that has been represented by both binary genders. Seriously, Roberts does NOT get enough credit for her time under the mask.

So now concepts have genders? Just because a costume is worn by two different sexes doesn't mean that a costume has a gender.

You're just missing the part where her husband brandished a firearm first and the fact that she was shot had nothing to do with her chanting the dismissive slogan.

Funny, multiple outlets report the other group pulled the gun first. The initial fight stemmed from her saying all lives matter. Both sides escalated it but you missed the point(once again) that just because one person is killed doesn't mean the whole system is against them. I notice you didn't bother to try refuting my other two examples.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1441041#Comment_1441041

Or I could make the huge leap of bringing up the white woman killed in Indiana for saying all lives matter.

Just for the record, that's fake news. That's not why she was shot and, in fact, she was shot a while after the confrontation with her saying that dismissive slogan.

So how do you explain the torture camps? They may not be part of "the system" (although I have my doubts that certain politicians aren't actively looking away from the problem and receiving a little money under the table), but there's no equal protection there. If I opened a torture camp for heterosexuals with the intent of "curing" them of their heterosexuality and had parents send me their heterosexual children to torture while calling it "therapy", it'd be shut down faster than you can blink and I would be arrested. LGBT don't have that, the torture camps have to be legislated as being illegal even though torture is already so.

It's not fake news. Protestors said one thing, she said another, minutes later she is shot. But you ignored my overall point.

And again, those camps are run by detestable individuals and the parents who send their kids to such camps have questionable views as well. But when the APA and past surgeon generals and other US officials condemn conversion therapy, you can't go saying the system promotes unequal treatment. If a private company wants to try conversion therapy they are legally allowed to do.

Everyone is quick to point to individual examples of discrimination by one person or one private group as evidence of systemic discrimination (at least in the US they do) but they ignore the fact that the Constitution exists and the government 99% of the time opposes such discrimination. In a country of 325ish million people, some will not like other for arbitrary reasons.
